Founded in 1903, Harley-Davidson is a global motorcycle brand. It survived the Great Depression, economic upheavals and many ownership changes to become one of the world's most famous names. Despite all these hurdles, Harley-Davidson has built a reputation as an industry leader with products that are recognised around the world.
Harley-Davidson is known for its chopper motorcycle style. In the beginning, it marketed heavyweight bikes with engine displacements of more than 700cc. However, it has expanded its product line to include middle-weight Street bikes and the Current VRSC (Very Restricted Sport Bike), which arrived in 2015 and 2002 respectively.
Harley-Davidson motorcycles are built in factories around the world. The company's largest factory is located in York, Pennsylvania; other locations include Bawal, India; and Manaus, Brazil. The company has also announced plans to build a new plant in Thailand. Harley-Davidson's motorcycles are sold worldwide.
The VIN code of the motorcycle can tell you as much information as the DNA of a human being. The Harley VIN decoder makes it easy to find out technical specs about the body of the bike, engine type and equipment that comes with it. However, the codes change from time to time.

Harley-Davidson motorcycle frame VIN numbers and VIN plate/stickers are often located on the front frame tubes, which are located in line with the forks.
Occasionally, they are located at the top of the handlebar and can be seen by turning the handlebars to the left or right.
The VIN number is usually stamped with a star * at each end.

Harley-Davidson's motorcycles have been evolving over the years. In 2010, the company introduced a new generation of bikes with 17-digit Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). The full VIN was stamped on the neck of the frame, and an abbreviated version of this code was stamped on the engine just like previous models.

Due to the VIN check, you can get the history report of your Harley-Davidson vehicle. It conveys all the important information about your bike, including accident history and engine type and year manufactured. También decodificamos números de vehículos recreativos, camiones pesados y motos. Si necesitas decodificar el número de un vehículo recreativo, asegúrate de que sea el emitido por el fabricante del chasis, no el del proveedor de servicios de equipamiento adicional.
No. Los vehículos canadienses y mexicanos suelen tener el mismo formato. Otros países utilizan sus propios formatos.
Es el fabricante quien determina lo que se incluye en algunas partes del número. Por ejemplo, algunas empresas no incluyen información sobre la transmisión o los niveles de equipamiento.
Normalmente, no. Hay pocos fabricantes que estampan el código dentro del motor. En esos casos, si el VIN del motor y el del auto coinciden, se trata del motor original. En cambio, en la mayoría de los vehículos no hay nada que vincule un motor a un vehículo específico. Como mucho, buscar el vehículo en nuestra web te dirá si se ha instalado otro tipo de motor.
