To reset the SRS light on a Honda Civic, it should take about 30 minutes and is quite simple to do. You'll need either an insulated wire or an SCS service connector - a paperclip can also work in place of the connector. Locate the memory erase signal under the dashboard on the driver side. Connect the MES by linking the plug's sides with the SCS connector or paperclip. Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine. The SRS light will briefly display and then turn off. Undo the connection by removing the wire, paperclip, or SCS connector. The SRS light will come back on. Reconnect the wire to make the light turn off again. Remove the wire once more, and the SRS light will flash twice, indicating a successful reset.

Insert the key into the driver's side door lock of the Honda Accord to turn off the SRS warning in the Civic. Twist the key to unlock, then back to lock, and finally back to unlock. The warning should now be off. Start the engine and allow the car to idle for 10 minutes.
