We had a huge issue recently .... our son was visiting from Virginia Beach and his truck experienced a major break down and couldn't be driven back home safely.... Brown's Sales and Leasing in Elkader located the parts for his 2003 Ford F150 in record time and repaired it fast and efficiently! They were extremely conscientious of the repairs and fixing it properly. We were extremely pleased with the final costs! I highly recommend Brown's Sales for vehicle repairs. THANK YOU!!!

The service department was ok but they gave me a loaner car which would of been great but when I turned it off it would not start it was hot and humid out so I called Browns they said they were really busy and would call me back will I waited about 45 minutes and no one called but than the car started I took it back and than Cindy Cook came and told me oh that car does that once in while, really she did take $20.00 off my bill but who or what car dealer gives anyone a car that might not start.

Browns worked hard to find me the best financing actually they found a loan with a lower interest rate then what my own bank was going to give me. They also made sure we were comfortable while there. Had my oil changed, and knew I needed tires. They had tires on hand for my van, so I decided to have them put on even though I knew I had to wait another 1 1/2 hours to have it done. Service person came to me half-way thru the wait and gave me a voucher to go to lunch at Johnson's using a courtesy car. By the time I came back, the van was ready to go. Sure made the wait shorter!

The customer service was excellent with a very comfortable waiting room. The serpentine belt repair was well done and done in a timely manner. The license lights are now working but the dome light does not work 100% of the time. I was well informed of the need for a used dome light assembly which would take care of the problem. New parts are no longer available for that repair so in a future time, I will inform Browns of the need to order one and repair it. I was well pleased with the service repair.

Brought are 2011 Chrysler Town & Country from La Crosse, WI. They changed our oil and explained that the check engine light had sent out a code for a thermostat issue. They said they could take care of it shortly or we could come back. We decided to wait and they even offered us a loaner to go look around. They were able to fix the van, and cover it under warranty! Thanks for the great service!!!! Even gave us 2 water bottles for the ride home. Thanks again

When I discovered needing a replacement headlight I called Brown's service department to find out when I could schedule getting it done. Was told they had the part in stock (amazing, the vehicle is a 2005 Buick Ranier, I was expecting a delay in parts availability) and could take care of it whenever it worked for me to stop in. I stopped 2 hours latter, and was back on the road in less than 20 minutes. Great service as always. Thank you.

I just brought my new Charger in for it's first servicing. I felt their friendly staff went above and beyond making me feel comfortable and appreciated while I waited in their customer guest area. I recently had an oil change on my new vehicle purchased through your facility. I showed up early due to a scheduling conflict on my end that would not allow me to hold my appointment. I was given a loaner vehicle for the day so I could complete my daily activities. What I was most impressed with is the communication during this day. The service department completed an inspection that was not required a but was given due to purchasing the vehicle recently and at no charge. I received a phone call saying they found a nail in a tire. I am happy they found this before my 4 hour drive to Chicago next week. A $24 fixed saved me hundreds in the week to come. Plus I got rewards cash for having the work done by them. Total fix cost me less than $20. I could go on and on about the great service at Brown's in Elkader. I am happy and most of all so is my family.

The service department gave me a recommendation for new tires before winter. They informed me that for my make of vehicle, there would likely be a good sale in October, so I waited and got a great deal! The loaner vehicle was waiting outside for me when I arrived. The tires were mounted and the vehicle was ready to be picked up before I anticipated. They applied my "customer loyalty" dollars to my bill, reducing the total amount due without having to ask. Great place to purchase and service a vehicle!

Even though this was a used vehicle. They went out of their way to help us with financing and finding the right van for us. They even went through the van with us to explain how everything works. There was a small issue with the passenger mirror, and they took care of it. We drove an 1.5 hours to this dealership. Well worth the trip!

We bought our daughter a used 2008 Ford Focus 2 months ago and she was in an accident where it was totaled. In shoping for a replacment car, Brown's had a used 2008 Ford Focus we purchased. I can not say how impressed we were with our experience at Brown's. The car I purchased in MN prior was dirty, not serviced, empty of gas and we waited 3 hours to complete the paperwork. The car we purchased at Brown's was 1. a better price 2. spotlessly clean 3. full of gas, 4. had just been serviced. 5 Represented perfectly by the sales person. For purchasing what I will call a low cost used car at Brown's I felt like I was buying a much more expensive car. Customer service like we experienced at Brown's is very hard to find in this day when purchasing an car. We will definetly buy from them again.

The level of customer service at this facility is the gold standard for all dealerships and service departments. I have purchased several cars here and have had many repairs done here. The staff is always professional and courteous. My most recent visit was for repairs. I made my appointment with Ryan (extremely pleasant) and got my follow-up call from Brad (also pleasant), who explained what needed to be done and why. My car was returned to me nearly 24 hours ahead of schedule.

I was immediately impressed when I was greeted by Ryan Cooper, service advisor when I walked in the door. I went to buy a car during their push, pull, drag sales event. I was very nervous having never purchased a car from a dealership before but the sales representative very nice and talked me through it all. I had called earlier curious about some of the cars at Victory (the sister dealership) They didn't have an issue bring the cars to the Elkader store. When we took the car for a test drive since I wasn't familiar with the area he gave me directions when to turn and where. I got a free oil change with the purchase and when I took it in for the oil change the guys there were very friendly and helpful. I had several questions about additional parts (add ons) that I was considering getting and they helped me find the parts and costs. They were very friendly and I will continue to go back for future service.

We brought a vehicle to have appraised for trade in and that process was much easier than some of the other dealers we had been to. Wes Lawson was very easy to work with and made us feel very comfortable taking our time to make our final decision to buy a Chevrolet Traverse. When my vehicle was delivered, it was not cleaned properly, and chrome wheels were dirty. I brought the vehicle back for the paint protection, interior protection, rustproofing/undercoating, and to receive floor mats that were ordered for me. The wheels were still not cleaned properly, the interior leather protection was not applied fully, very spotty, and the floor mat for the middle seat of my 7 passenger Buick Enclave did not fit. The service department insisted it was the correct mat, but it wouldn't fit at all. I have had a part in the purchase of four vehicles in the past 3 1/2 years, and am very disappointed with the type of service I assume was the responsibility of the detail shop.

We could have purchased from a dealer that was a lot closer to us but the car buying experience with Brown's is so smooth and stress free that it was worth the drive. There was "no pressure" to purchase that you can feel with other dealers. You actually feel like they are happy to serve your needs.

I had been looking for a very specific vehicle from quite some time. I happened to find the vehicle I wanted on cars.com and contacted Lori with Brown's to get more information. She answered every question, and went above and beyond to make sure I knew everything about the vehicle. I sent my vehicle over to be serviced for a recall and the check engine light. When they finally got to it they had an estimate of over $2500 dollars worth of work and had done the recall but didn't do the check engine light.( Beware when they have your vehicle picked up they don't have a set appointment time ) But they didn't do the check engine light So when they did the test on the check engine light they didn't save the info. So being a Friday and they picked it up at 10:00 I figured I would know what was going on . No they cleared the light and sent it back. Before the driver got it back the light was back on. So here we go again the service advisor said if it came back on they would put it back on to test again. So it goes over again, sits there all day get a call at 4:45 they didn't get to my vehicle this time its a Monday My husband talks to Forest who then talks to Service Advisor who tells that they remember working on this vehicle, but they told us they didn't get at it. Finally get it back at about 4:45 on Friday, Driving to work that night it was the roughest ride, every little bump in the highway was like hitting a pot hole, When I got home that morning I started to check the tires which should be at 35 psi according to guidelines all were at 40 psi. I guess my thought is when you call and make an appointment it should be taken in for that time not left sitting in the parking lot for the next day. And yes I know things happen and some take longer than you thought .But this was the same vehicle that didn't get taken care of on the appointment day 2 times. I talked to service advisor about the tire issue he thought I should take it over again and that if its humid it would increase a couple psi. so that would make it over 40. Well I called another shop about it and they said yes it would ride rough and that if it says 35psi put it at 35 and may need to check when the weather turns cold as they loose pressure. My last thought is Stand behind your word ( when you say your going to do something then do it) .If the error is due to lack of training then go over these issues with that person everyone learns from there mistakes and needs to be informed of the issue, before it is a serious problem.

Where do I even start?! The buying process... Piece of cake! But once you sign the papers and they get your money don't bother calling or emailing them! When I decided to get my vehicle we agreed that they would fix my windshield which had a crack in it and fix my visors. Mind you they had my vehicle for a week and a half after I signed the papers which would allow plenty of time to do so. When I ended up finally getting it neither was fixed and there was melted chocolate in the back seat, even better, they didn't put my papers saying I had just purchased it in the glove box either! Just beware!! I had trying calling over there multiple times to talk to them and you get the same thing "they are currently busy with customers could you leave a message" why sure but you leave a message and they'll never call you back!! Worst experience ever!! Friends and family are aware as well!! Do not buy from here! Save yourself the time and headaches!!

This was my first time buying a car on my own. My fiance and I had a great experience at this particular dealership. Since it was my first car we did A LOT of shopping around. To compare to other dealerships: Brown's was very good with customer service and follow up. We worked with Greg in particular and he was wonderful. To be honest, he was not pushy or annoying like some other car salesmen/women can be. My fiance and I made it clear that we were shopping around to find the "perfect" car for us. Greg understood that and instead of calling every day he touched base with me on an as-needed basis. I actually think I called him more than he called me (which I preferred). Greg did a great job of communicating our needs, and when we decided to buy the other employees at the dealership were there to help. The day of the sale went very smoothly and we had all of our questions answered. After I bought the car I have received follow-up e-mails to check in with me to make sure we made the right choice. Buying my first car on my own was a daunting task; however, Brown's made the experience wonderful. I would have have no problem returning due to the great service, options for vehicles, and overall environment. I was very comfortable and still don't have buyer's remorse from my purchase! I did not rate the "quality of repair" as I have not received any repairs on my vehicle, but I give everything else 5+ stars-no doubt. I highly recommend this dealership in general, and Greg in particular.

Took 2008 Silverado in for an oil change using my own oil. Took 2 - 5 quart containers. After oil change I got back 1 container with 3 quarts in. Checked oil dip stick and it showed a quart over full. This is the 2nd time in about a year this has happened to me. Don't your mechanics check the oil after filling it???? Many years ago I worked in a filling station doing oil changes, that is the first thing I was taught, always check the oil level after running the engine for a short time after an oil change. I think someone needs a retraining program.

I had never used the internet to buy or sell a vehicle before, but as it turned out it was a very pleasant expierience. I recieved both a price for the new truck I was purchasing, and the trade in value for the truck I was trading in. The new truck had to be ordered from the factory, and it came in much sooner than the dealer had promised. The sales person I had (Lori Farmer) was extremely helpful, and very quick to follow up on any questions that I had. Overall it was a very pleasant expierience, and I would recommend the dealership to any of my friends.

You are warmly greeted by every employee you come in contact with each time you enter and leave the dealership. Each employee has a full knowledge of their part in complete customer satisfaction. I heard a "Knock" in my 2014 Dodge Avenger. Chris Henry scheduled an appointment for me and when no noise was detected that day, my car was kept overnight to see if there was a problem on a cold engine. I just purchased my first new car - and it's from Brown's. I have been looking at buying a new Dodge Charger for four years. At other dealerships I either couldn't find what I wanted or else I felt like a number. I decided to look online and found a vehicle I liked at Brown's and decided to come take a look, even though they were located 1 1/2 hours from home. My wife and I were both impressed by their beautiful showroom but even more so by the warm greeting we received from the people we met inside. Lori and Wes made us both feel at home during the buying process. There was no pressure and the conversation was caring and they really listened to what we had to say, what we were looking for. We made a purchase and have already decided to do business there again in the future. After we'd bought our car and were driving back home, my wife turned and said to me "they really seemed like they wanted and appreciated our business." I recently got a 2014 F150 supercrew The finance girl in Elkader did an awesome job of getting me the payments I wanted. The sales staff delivered my truck to work and picked up my trade in so I didn't have to make another trip to the dealer when my new truck was ready. Most recently I scheduled to have some work done on a Saturday On Friday service called and advised me they had some cancellations asked if they could pick my vehicle up and do the work that day. I agreed Browns sent a driver to my work picked up my truck and left me a loaner vehicle. I took the loaner back on Saturday got my truck and an explanation of what was done. Both Fred and Troy have gone out of their way when we have purchased new vehicles and were super helpful finding "just the right vehicle" to fit our needs. I had my vehicle in for an oil change and everything on that end was excellent. I also had them detail it, maybe I didn't specify what I wanted done but the time before this I had it detailed and when I got my car back I thought I was getting into a new car, well not the case this time. Dust still all over dash. I brought it to customer service and he took it down but still wasn't dusted very well when he brought it back. I did pay the extra for the detail.

On my scheduled appointment yesterday to get the oil changed in my Jeep, I received a friendly greeting from Ron and the vehicle was promptly taken to the service bay. The oil was changed, the tires were rotated free of charge and when that was done I had an oil change coupon for a $5.00 discount and I had a discount for prior service work making my total bill less than $20. Brown's customer service people are professional , polite and considerate. They explained how long it would take to change the spark plugs and fuel filter. They have a neat and clean waiting room with a television to watch and cold water, coffee and donuts while you wait. We started out online looking for a vehicle and found one we liked. Started the process online and by the time we go there the vehicle was up front and ready for a test drive. My 5 year old came with to help "pick out" the vehicle and Troy was very patient with her and explained everything to her. Doing that almost sealed the deal for my before I even drove it. By the time we got back the financing was done and it was just a matter of signing on the dotted line and going home. Thanks for everything.

I am always amazed by the hospitality at Browns..such a friendly and courteous staff that explains and gives updates on your service call. Always efficient and timely...always offer a loaner car if Needed. Smiling faces that make my visit a great expexperience as well as excellent work. Had service performed on my 2007 Silverado. Started out with an oil change and ended up oer 2,000 total bill. I appreciate their thoroughness, but often times owners only want certain items fixed, i.e. "just keep it running good" mentality. Was dissapointed in overall cost of bill, but considering they fixed the front bearings and hub I guess it is probably appropriate. I did like their follow up e-mail thanking me for my business.

Great sales experience, purchased a van 3 years previous, when I called looking for another vehicle. Fred remember me, what I had previously purchased, etc. Great service department, got my oil changed for first time, they came picked up my vehicle at work, changed oil, cleaned inside/out and returned within working hours. And I totally love my 2014 Ford Explorer. Highly recommend Brown's:)

I thought that the sales/finance person was a little too quick in selling me the extended warranty when I didn't fully understand it, nor did I really want it (the extended warranty). My questions were not really being answered by a couple of people.

Hands down I prefer this dealership over my own towns. The people there seem to bend over backwards to work with you . I have purchased the last 3 vehicles we've bought at Brown's. However, with this last vehicle(a 2010 F150) I seem to have a drive train problem that 3 trips there have not been able to correct.

This was a positive, courteous experience. In addition to the requested work, I was advised that a filter needed replacement and I was contacted to see if I wanted it done. When the work was completed, I was shown the old filter and indeed it was time to change it.

I has questions about noisy windows with airflow sounds and frequent running cooling fan under the hood, but I was told that neither were fixable problems. The window airflow sounds was supposed to be the nature of the beast and the every 15 second cooling fan funning under the hood when the air conditioner was on was supposed to be normal. So I didn't have anything done to my Cruze. The detailers did wash my car while it was there, that was appreciated!

From the minute you walk in the door you are greeted with smiling faces and helpful people. We have purchased our last four vehicles here and would not want to change for any reason. The salespeople are very well versed on the various vehicles and help one through selection of "just the right vehicle". Follow up service is excellent and such a treat to have your car washed when you come in for an oil change. Keep up the good work.

I scheduled my 1997 Ford Escort for a check on the brakes since they were squeaking from time to time and I had recently bought the car used. Browns was prompt in offering a choice of days and willing to let me have a loaner. I dropped the car off on Friday August 12th,2013 at 7:30. I followed up shortly after lunch the same day and was informed that both front and rear brakes were fine but the rotors in front had some rust on them that could be the source of the squeaking. There was a bunch of residue in the rear pads and that was cleaned out and again there was no need to install new brakes pads on the rear. I was pleased with the inspection and report.

Chris, as well as the rest of the service crew, are very good to work with. They listen to you and ask questions to make sure they understand what the problem is you are having when you bring your vehicle in to be looked at. They also explain to you what they can and/or can't do so that you understand what is going to happen. They have always been prompt and courteous in getting the problem fixed. In fact the last time I had to have some work done they even picked it up and delivered back at no extra charge so I didn't have to be inconvenienced in any way. Thank you.

Great people to work with. We shopped online to begin with and worked with Lori Farmer. She was quick to respond and answered all of our questions right away. Our final sales person on site was Jamie who was also a great person to work with. This is not a high sales pressure dealership like some others in Cedar Rapids where they follow you around the lot as soon as you drive in. They take the time to let you make your own purchase decisions. Definitely worth the drive! Highly recommended.
