Bought a 2015 WRX back mid-2015. The entire sales experience was nice and calm. They answered all of my questions. The Service side of Capitol is a joke. Oil changes were over $20 more than other dealerships when I went there. They didn't help me take care of fit and finish issues I was noticing with my brand new car. A major service was near $200 more than Kendall Subaru in Eugene. It took Capitol Subaru an hour and a half to swap my stock wheels and tires with aftermarket wheels and tires; they only had to unbolt the old and bolt on the new. I feel like Capitol is only interested in how much money they can get from me. Now, I drive an hour to go to Kendall Subaru for all of my services because I'm their client... not a customer. I have no confidence in Capitol Subaru.

Worked with Liz Rodgers and she was as helpful as could be. We are early in our buying process yet she let us test drive all the vehicles we wanted, she was easy going, not pushy or aggressive. These are good folks and if and when we are ready to move forward with another Subaru( LOVE MY 2013 OUTBACK) we would buy from Liz and the Salem team.

Test drove a used Mini Cooper they were selling. Wasn't the car I ended up buying but their customer service was excellent and all of my questions were answered and I was satisfied with my experience with the people there.

I visited the dealership three times - twice to test drive and/or sit in some of the cars, and then the third time to buy a car after getting several quotes on cars.com. All of the people that I dealt with were helpful and knowledgeable about the features and trim levels available on the different models. The price quoted on the vehicle was very competitive with another nearby dealership.

First they set me up for an appt. to see a car and didn't bother to call me and let me know it had been sold by the time I showed up. Then the sales person I had an appt. with was too busy to tend to me so I saw another guy who showed me another car and we took it out for a test drive I was told all the buttons and everything worked on the vehicle I ended up purchasing it and the very next morning the first time I ever tried to use the back defroster it didn't work. I didn't purchase the 3k warranty discounted to 1900. They didn't charge me to look at it but I spoke with Danny the sales manager and scheduled to take it in the next day. Well he didn't work that day I took my break time to go drop off my car and no one had an idea of what was going on. I didn't have any time left so I left my keys with the receptionist and she said my sales person was on his way and as soon as they got it figured out he would call me to let me know. Well I never received a call I had to call in myself and check to make sure they knew what was going on. Then I went to pick it up and Even though it was less than 24 hrs that I purchased it and I had never used it before they had Toyota check it out and say it need a power block which is $ 300 but they would split the cost and I would have to pay $150. I purchased this car for over 10k with the confirmation everything worked this was my first experience buying a car and it was awful with them. I made the decision to purchase a car at this price so I wouldn't have to put any money into for at least a good while. So this was very disappointing then Subaru couldn't explain to me exactly the tests they did and what was next if the power block wasn't the issue and the tech that did it didn't leave any notes and was gone for the day. It wasn't until I called and spoke to Rory who finally provided me with the information I need to feel better about the situation but going through all that stress the VERY FIRST WEEK I owned the car is ridiculous.

I purchased my 2014 Brz in March of this year, when I arrived at the dealership I was met by a gentleman named Stacey I believe. Stacey was extremely friendly and easy to talk to, he didn't pressure me and was really easy to work with. This guy was one of the only reasons I stayed and purchased that Brz. When we were talking about price a guy who I think his name was Eric, he was taller and had braces and a beard was doing some running for us from where we were sitting and an office. This guy was so rude to my girlfriend and I over license plates. He told me I didn't know what I was talking about, said he has been doing this for 13 years and has forgotten more than I will ever know. He then said he doesn't have to do business with me when I requested for him to leave the table. I looked to Stacey and requested that Eric not be around nor part of the rest of my purchase. My girlfriend begged me to get up and leave because of how rude this guy was but after visiting multiple dealerships I was ready for my car. I did not receive a customer satisfaction email after my purchase or I would have made a complaint on him. As it is now, Everyone else was extremely friendly and inviting, but if that guy has really been working with that dealership for 13 years and treats customers who are spending tens of thousands of dollars on their products like that, I am shocked. I would not recommend anyone go there. As I have told everyone who has asked me about my experience. I hope Capitol Subaru reaches out to me and makes things right.

The sales team was very nice, and the dealership is clean and comfortable.However we came in on a national offer for a lease. We explained to each person we dealt with that we were looking for the offer advertised, they came back with double the price!.. we were a little taken back with this. As it was obvious that they did not listen to what we wanted. We left and looked at another dealer selling subaru's in Portland. The experience was much worse, however gave us a much better deal. I then decided to call back the original salesperson who we dealt with as I did like his style of selling. I asked him to just match the deal I got from the other dealership with the same equipped car ( i would even wait for them to get one in) and I would purchase right then and there. They said NO it was a "smoking" deal and i should get it. So tomorrow I will be driving to Portland to get a "smoking" deal. To Bad I wanted to keep my business local.

I tried to purchase a WRX advertised on Auto Trader and Cars.com. on Nov. 29, 2014 When I called, I was told they could only sell the vehicle at their location, or at a higher price. In my opinion, this is bait and switch, you do not advertise a car on two websites, then try to raise the price on the phone. I've had this experience before with other dealers, and I try to warn the public.

Jackie is one of the most down to earth sales persons I have ever worked with; sincere, honest, knowledgeable. She, Russel and Frannie made this the best experience; no pressure and no games how refreshing !!! The waiting area has a fireplace couches, stuffed chairs and a TV plus a play area for children and dogs!!! All this and not to mention..... I love my 2014 'ice silver' Subaru Crosstrek!!!!Would very recommend Capital to others ~

I will try to be brief about my "service" experience at this facility. I noticed in late summer my air conditioning on my 2005 Subaru Outback was inconsistently working. I was told it needed freon and the charge would be 99.00. After waiting several hours I was told the air was "very cold" and "working great". Pleased I paid for the "service" and started to drive home to discover the air conditioning was not working. I returned the car and sat for another hour or more and was told an o ring just needed replacement and the unit was "blowing cold". Again the air blew warm. I was then told now an evaporator needed to be replaced to the tune of 900 more dollars. I was given a loaner car as I work out of town weekly. When I got the car back I discovered the air conditioning was inconstantly working and every vent blew out significantly different temperatures and they adjustment were either hot or cold with no in between. This continued for three more loaner cars and many different explanations and/or possibilities to the problems usually too simple fixes like " the relays just needed lubricant'. Finally after my defroster and foot vents completely stopped working did I really lose my patience. The defroster and foot vent issue was fixed though the air flow is half of what it used to be and the temperatures remain inconsistent to a large degree. I gave up all hope at this point the job would ever be done properly. Horrendous "service". Not once did anyone suggest at least a partial refund after this poorly done job. I have been a customer for years and will never return and never buy another Subaru. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE.

For a few years now I've been realizing it was time for a new car. Things change with kids, space, etc. I finally took the plunge and went to Capitol to see what was available.FIrst of all I was blown away with the look and the performance of the new 2015 Subaru Foresters. They are great looking and have a ton of great features.Casey stayed with me the whole afternoon, we test drove multiple cars and eventually decided on the Limited 2.5. I am so happy with the purchase and all of those involved in helping me decide and finalize everything.It's worth the trip down from Portland, just a 40 minute drive. You won't be disappointed.

Our sales person was a lovely lady named Jackie.. She was informative and friendly. We would buy our next car from Jackie. It doesn't stop there though. The service department is wonderful. They are fast and efficient. I would like to see more things to do out there however. The setting out there is much like a park but there are no toys to play on. I have suggested a train, and I think a race car track would be fun! Go out and see Jackie.

We have been planning for retirement and wanted a perfect vehicle that would be safe, last a long time, tow a small camper trailer, have a place for a dog, along with many other details that would fit us and our plans. We had 3 vehicles picked out to test drive one day. The VW TDI Sportswagon, the Honda CRV, and the Subaru Outback, in that order. After driving the first 2 and then the Subaru last. We were convinced then and there the Subaru Outback was the right vehicle for us. Then it was time to look at trim levels, color, accessories, pricing, etc. and I am not a quick decision maker. Scott VonWeller, our salesman, was a perfect fit for us too. He was very patient. He answered ALL of my many questions that came via email, text message, and phone calls. A perfect package at a great price was put together then it was time for the transaction. My husband has been on Chemo for 8 months so everything was done to accommodate his energy level. They were willing to drive to us but we were able to come in even though it took 3 different days to get it all accomplished. Not only was Scott patient and very helpful the entire crew was. From Dave, the Finance guy to Stephanni, in Service, to Eric, who brought us water, and others that seemed to be excited for us. We were so well treated it felt like they truly cared about us not just the transaction. We drove home our new Subaru Outback on Saturday 11/2/13 and I believe it was the prettiest one they had.

It was a wonderful day when we drove up to Salem to purchase our 2014 Subaru Forester Limited! We had done our homework at home by looking into this vehicle, test driving one, checking dealerships throughout Oregon and getting the details worked out before we arrived. We live in Florence so it was quite a ride and we wanted to be sure we had everything worked out so we could finish the deal and drive our new car home. Justin made it very easy, beating all other quotes for the same vehicle and just speaking to him on the phone assured us that we were going to be well taken care of when we arrived. Believe me, the price and the options on this vehicle definitely made our decision for us. We knew that all limited models come with just a few options unless you want to upgrade to the navigation package. We were not interested in that option so it made it extremely easy to check stock in both Oregon and Washington before making our purchase.We enjoyed our test drive, talking to Justin and several other people involved in the paperwork and they all made the experience extremely easy. Justin took the extra time to reassure this driver that the car would be easy to drive home, even though it was raining and at night when we left and I had not driven for several months. He also made sure to set up my phone to the bluetooth so I would know how to take care of any incoming calls on my way home. We would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone we come in contact with and more importantly, recommend they call Justin Hernandez to work with.

I had a wonderful experience at Capitol Subaru. I have never purchased a car before, but I hear all of the hassling horror stories. I'm so grateful that I didn't have to go through that. Capitol Subaru is so different from other car dealerships I've been to. Purchasing my car was a delight. Everyone who took care of me was so friendly and hospitable -- not once did I feel uncomfortable. I was in and out before I even knew it.That day while I was driving my car around, a warning light popped up. I swung by the dealership and they told me to pull in and they would take care of it. As I waited, I had a cup of coffee, and orange, and charged my cell phone -- services all provided by the dealership. My car was ready in no time and I was so comfortable, I almost didn't want to leave!I would DEFINITELY recommend Capitol Subaru to anyone who is looking to purchase a car. I love my Forester, and I can't wait to see where it will take me.

I have been trying to fill out a survey but they don't keep them up long enough. We are on the move and gone a lot of the time.We bought the car from Capitol. Had a great experience. Frannie and the Gentleman who helped sign the papers were mosthelpful. Mike in service did a great job getting us our desired extras and having things ready when promised. The people whodid the inside and outside protection did a great job.We brought the vehicle back to have the finishing touches put on and also got some more extras. The service departmentwas most helpful. Everyone was very accommodating. The loaner saved us. When we picked up the car it waslooking great.Thanks to everyone who was involved in the whole process.PS This website is not user friendly (especially if you are not computer savvy)

I don't often recommend anything to anybody (especially restaurants and car dealers!), however, I do want to comment on my experience with Capitol Subaru. In a nutshell, my experience in buying a new car through them was excellent. The sales people (Nick on the phone and Jackie at the dealership) were knowledgeable, friendly and straight up honest. They did everything they told me they would do and within the time they quoted. The price of the car was extremely competitive (I did a lot of checking beforehand) and there was no attempt to alter that price or otherwise manipulate.After the sale was completed, Jackie spent a lot of time with me going over the details of use of some of the cars features. She also contacted me after I'd had a chance to drive the car for a few days just to make sure everything was OK. Thanks, DonnDonn

I purchased a Subaru Outback in 2002 and have had all needed services and repairs done at Capitol Subaru in Salem Oregon. It's a great, smooth riding, and reliable vehicle and the service has been great.I've always had prompt, expert, and friendly service whenever I made an appointment. Occasionally, I asked for same day routine maintenance and was almost always able to find a slot. Good vehicle records are kept at the service location so that the right periodic maintenance is not missed. I get good advice too. I highly recommend Capitol Subaru for people looking for a quality car and service.

My son and I stopped by Capitol Subaru looking at a car they just received as a trade in. I then asked about the Outback and went for a test drive with Dan. He showed me things about the car and was informative about the features of the car and the safety factors. I was impressed with the car but was not looking to purchase that day. My son and I went back two weeks later looking at the Forester. I liked this car more than the Outback. I like the SUV vehicles more. Dan took us for a test drive and I was sold. Dan is a really nice and informative person and hope we will be friends from now on. He is very personable and caring. If you are looking for a car, go to Capitol Subaru! They are very nice and the safety features really sold me!Thank you Dan!

Went in to get a replacement key and a software update for our 2012 Outback. Day 1: Two hours, software updated was told the key machine was broken come back tomorrow.Day 2: Two hours, they come out and tell me all of the keys they have in have bad transmitters, and put it off on Subaru. I ask them if there's a chance that they are not programing right, of course not they are all experts.Day 3: One hour, they are finally able to get me an additional key, they waived their $40 programming fee and gave me a whole 25% off on the key, cost a little over $100. I drive off the lot and go to the store, when I try to unlock my car....suprise suprise, they deactivated my original key.....back to the service center where the experts can now get my original key reprogrammed to work.So if you want to spend five hours and three trips to get a replacement key, then Capital Subaru is for you.

I was contacted by email by Justin Hernandez at Capitol Subaru after I had made some inquiries on the Edmonds.com website and the Subaru website regarding pricing for a new Subaru Outback. I wrote back to Justin in a rather blunt email stating that I was already tired of the vague answers regarding pricing that I was getting at another dealer. I told him specifically what I was looking for, including the model, additional equipment, and color of the vehicle. I also told him that I would not have a trade in. After a few very friendly emails were exchanged he found a vehicle equipped as I had requested and quoted a firm "out the door" price which was lower than any other dealer I had contacted. He made no attempt to sell me anything I didn't ask for or secure a trade in. One dealer installed accessory, a trailer hitch, was quoted very reasonably. A small fully refundable deposit secured the vehicle. He kept me informed of progress on the delivery of the vehicle both personally and through his partner in the internet sales department, Eric Dunlop. All emails and phone calls were returned promptly and all questions were answered - nothing vague or left to interpretation. When I contacted the other dealers that I was dealing with one said that they couldn't even come close to the "out the door" price quoted by Capitol Subaru. Another offered to match the price and "throw in" a full tank of gas. The vehicle arrived at the dealership on time and the hitch was installed as promised. Another employee of the dealership went over in detail options for purchasing an extended warrantee but there was no pressure to buy. He accepted our decision not to purchase the extended warrantee without any argument or negative remarks. Everything went extremely smoothly. When we took delivery, to our surprise there was a full tank of gas, and we didn't have to ask for it! One final note: I probably didn't have to be so blunt in my first email to Justin. I found out that Capitol Subaru's written policy is to handle sales exactly as the sale was handled for me: no hassle and complete honesty in answering all the customers questions and meeting all the customer's requirements.

Usually buying a car is quite a chore and generally unpleasant. i purchased a certified vehicle at capitol subaru two days ago. it ended up being such a pleasant experience. my sales associate, nick bean, was friendly and quite helpful. the process was fairly quick and painless. the showroom is beautiful and set up to make you feel at home and comfortable. i would definitely recommend this dealership to my friends and family.

I have been in for oil changes on my vehicle since it was new. Mike worked with me at both the old and new address. Russell has worked with me at the new address along with Mike. I have found them to be very accommodating, fair, fast, competent & friendly. I also worked with Russell when I can in for a "check engine" light. When your equipment failed he accommodated me by sending me over to the Toyota dealership on site. Excellent service. Also, Bob has done a great job driving me while my Subaru was in the shop and Jacquie has provided me sales support with enthusiasm. Mike and Russel in the Service Department have treated me and my wife very professionally and have made sure that we were satisfied with their services. My wife was interested in a new Subaru to replace a ML500 that had been totaled from a driver's side crash. Her primary concern was the safety rating of the car. I had suggested Honda, Toyota, Acura, and our youngest daughter recommended Volkswagen. She drove all 3 and was less that impressed by the knowledge and courtesy of the other sales staff.Nick Bean was simply a "step above", everyone else we had spoken with or, in several instances had taken a demonstration drive.He was VERY knowledgeable about his products and spoke comfortably about the differences between models. His demeanor and courtesy were just terrific.The conversation about price was simple and straight forward. I had "shopped" the vehicle that we decided to purchase and found an excellent price from another reputable dealer. Capitol reviewed the quote and simply agreed to price match because the cars quoted were identical.I had done business with the service department for years but this was my/our first purchase experience with Capitol. Nick and the Sales Manager Rory were truly good work with.

My mother had been dreaming of a Subaru for years. Due to some good fortune she was able to purchase her first new car in over 30 years. We had been shopping for several weeks at other Subaru dealers and been getting the bate and switch . She was so upset, she was considering getting a different brand of car and quite frankly my husband and I had been considering getting a new Subaru and had become discouraged by the dealers attitudes. My brother lives in Salem and began talking with the people at Capital Subaru. They were willing to find a car that fit all of my mothers requests, they were kind and willing to work with us.Wapital

Went to purchase a 2013 Legacy. Told the sales staff that there was no trade in, Financing was settled thru my credit union and I wanted no extras, a simple deal. The sales people respected the criteria, struck a deal and all that was left was to hand me an invoice and I would get the check from the local credit union. I was handed off to Finance manager who was disrespectful, attempted to fudge the numbers and modify the agreement as specified in the "We Owe" sales agreement. Additionally, this finance mgr. failed to turn the "We Owe" document over to the service department which delayed my purchased parts for two weeks. The most degrading part of this purchase was when I handed Mr. Stute a check for the agreed purchase price of the car, he got up left the room, not providing me with keys or any other car items that one would typically expect when buying a brand new vehicle. Also, I received no explanation of vehicle controls, functions or brake release functions. Know this, I'm 56 year old single woman that doesn't know a lot about the mechanical objects. The finance mgr. was the last Capitol Subaru employee I dealt with and strongly influenced my opinion of the dealership.

Our overall experience at Capitol Auto Group was very poor. First, we headed to the Toyota dealership, where after waiting for 5-10 minutes for a salesperson to help us, we finally left. The front desk paged sales- but no one showed up. Next, we headed out to the lot, and saw that there were 4 salespeople standing outside the Chevy dealership. We walked through the cars, and hoped perhaps someone would ask if we needed help. Again, no one even came to greet us. Finally, we headed to the Subaru dealership. We were greeted right away by Michael- and were given a thorough explanation of the cars available. Michael was the only nice person in the whole place. The next day, we contacted the sales manager to begin the negotiations. Rory Casebeer was extremely rude during our phone conversation. He argued about the price of the car stating it was really a higher price- even though we had already seen the sale price in the window. After he realized I was already aware the price was lower than what he was quoting me- he continued to argue that wasn't really the value of the car (the higher price was the right price.) After been yelled at, I decided I did not want to do business with this dealership. Today- we bought a brand new car from Dick Hannah in Vancouver. The price was less, the people were a pleasure to do business with and it was well worth the drive.

I have been looking for a new car since January and finally settled on a new subaru outback. My local dealership didn't really seem to understand that I had a budget and refused to help me get something I could afford, instead they kept pushing me to finance the $4,000 or $5,000 difference to upgrade to leather interior and options I don't need. I ended up really frustrated because I did a lot of research and it seemed like I should be able to get the options I wanted within my budget.I went on Truecar.com and got several bids, Capitol subaru offered the best combination of price/package and so I put a deposit down for a new 2013 outback Premium. It all went so smoothly it was kind of unbelievable- I picked the color and interior and options I wanted, they offered a great price, and now I have my perfect new car!!! They contacted me when the car was ready, and even delivered it a few days early to work around a trip I had planned. I read a lot of negative reviews of other dealerships and was nervous something would go wrong, like they would spend four hours pushing the extended warranty, but it all went perfectly. I got the car I wanted at a great price, and it was actually really pleasant and enjoyable to work with them. They were friendly and professional, and I never felt like they were dishonest or trying to push me into spending more. They seemed more than happy to work with me to get exactly what I wanted.After I got the offer from capitol subaru I contacted my local dealership to see if they could match it because I felt bad they had helped me test drive the cars, etc. Capitol subaru's price was over $1500 less than their best offer. I've only had the car for two days now but I am SO HAPPY!!!! And given my experience with other dealerships, I would stick with subaru and travel very far to keep working with the people at Capitol Subaru. It's completely worth it to avoid negative experiences, and their prices are great.

Eric at subaru tried hard to meet my needs. I delt with tyler first who contacted me and answered questions i needed answered. My son and i bought a car a few weeks prior to this and we came back because how we were treated.

I didn't end up getting the car I looked at, but the salesman, Eric D. was great and I would return again and refer anyone there who was interested in a Subaru. Felt like he listened to what I said and was interested in and he gave good info on the cars. He was upfront and real, which is a great thing in a car salesman. Had a friend along and she was ready to buy a car there too! Hope to be able to buy a car there in the future.
