My husband and I visited Capital auto on the parkway and had hands down the best car buying experience! Greg was super friendly, easy to talk to and took in all the details we were looking for. We ended up trading in our 02' Suzuki for a beautiful 2014 Kia Sorento. They worked at getting us the best Apr, re cleaned the car, filled up the tank and added a windshield protectant all before the deal was finalized! Thanks again to everyone who helped in making this such a memorable car purchase!!!

I bought a 2016 Legacy from Capitol Subaru last week. It was a nightmare. First they declined my lease application. Then they approved it. A few days later they decided it had to be a purchase. I needed a car ASAP, but they wouldn't sell me a 2017 in a different color. They had me over a barrel so I made the deal. If they had been honest from the start, i would be ecstatic and would have chosen a different car ,if i had known it was a purchase. Now I am completely dissatisfied.

I'm forced to choose 1 star however; this place doesn't deserve even 1 star. I've always given them a chance but sadly, they've never came though. They wheel you and deal you in the beginning, talks of family and friends, destinations to distract you from what's really going on. I'm thinking to myself, I'm just one person, who cares if they lose one customer. I never asked for special treatment, all I ever wanted was what was promised and stated. How did I make the dealership so upset with me for the treatment I get in return? Was it the wheels and tires that I paid for, that had to be removed for the larger nicer 2nd set of wheels and tires that I paid for? Do they attempt to force all customers to that purchase a vehicle that comes with after-market wheels and tires to forfeit the stock wheels and tires? If you look at the invoice, the real Manufactures invoice not the dealerships fake one, it clearly states, Factory wheels and tires for ($$$$) amount. The sales team will tell you in not negotiable, also for many other added items. It's not negotiable if you don't negotiate. Furthermore, I was promised up and don't that Capital Toyota in Salem, Oregon lifts their own vehicles. This was pounded into my head due to the fact that I was going to have Les Schwabs do it here in Salem and a cheaper price. I'll get back to that later. Each time I need an oil change, I made an appointment and waiting the usual 2 hours for an oil change. Recently, about a month ago, I made my 5000 miles oil change call to Capital. Made an appointment, once the day came I drove down, waited in the shop for someone to ask what I needed, everyone was busy, their always busy! I recommend an oil change at Jiffy Lube's because you can keep an eye on your vehicles and all times and watch the work being performed unlike Capital Toyota. After about my 2-hour mark was up, I went out for a vape break. There was my truck, in the same spot they had parked it 2 hours ago. I went in and asked politely why my truck was not being serviced yet, I had done as requested to save time as stated on your door right there in the office and made an appointment 2 weeks prior. They said, that's the done parking lot, I then asked for my keys back. A few minutes later, I was told that they haven't gotten to my vehicle yet because they were busy. I left, unhappy once again. The only time I remember leaving happy was when it was delivery day. Except the part where I had to demand the floor mats and stock wheels and tires that I paid hard earned money for, as I was going to list and sale them on craigslist, which sold for $750 bucks FYI. folks. Needless to say, I called once again to schedule an oil change which at this point going against my better judgement. Dropped my truck off at 10am. Asked about a Shuttle back home, they said it would be about 15-25-minute wait time. So, I waited, again. After about an hour, I went back into the Service advisers office and inquired about the shuttle once again. I was told sorry, there should be one available in about 45 minutes. I informed them I need my truck back tonight because I have to work the next day. I called a buddy and got a ride home. Around 430P, I called Capital to see if my truck was done. My Service adviser askes first, did I know my windshield wiper light was on. Me- Yes, been on a few weeks, is my truck done? Service adviser- Did you know you didnt have a spare tire? Me- Yes, is my truck done sir? Service adviser- yes, and the sound you are hearing is the chain from the spare tire smacking the frame. Me- Thats impossible! Is my truck done? If you like, I can take it to a specialist and diagnose the problem and bring you back the paperwork confirming the problem. Service adviser- We drove it all over the parking lot up and down and are unable to duplicate the problem. Me- I took a before and after photo of my mileage, 19,237 miles dropped off, 19,237 miles picked up. How do you drive all over and not rack up any mileage? Service adviser- Well, too honest with you sir, the lift was done at 4wheel parts in Portland, Oregon. Me- So, I have to take another day off and drive to Portland for the day to get my truck fixed? Service adviser- No sir, make another appointment to come down here and Ill personally drive your truck to Portland for you, thats what Im willing to do, to help you out. Me- Are you kidding me? No, Ill drive my own truck and never come here again. Service adviser- That is your choice sir. Me- What about my windshield wiper light? Did you try and reset or update the software on the computer? Service adviser- No. Me- Did you have the techs disconnect the sending unit or make sure it was plugged in? Service adviser- No, I dont think so, I dont work back there. Me- Why not? Service adviser- well, since your truck is lifted, and we didnt do the lift. We cant touch the wiper wires because we dont want to be responsible for any damages that the life may have done. I took my keys, paid the 70 bucks for my almost 6-hour oil change and said, Im never doing business here again! I was then asked not to use his name on any surveys because obviously Im red flagged there for posting accurate and precise surveys. I agreed.

The sales department is okay. The finance department is slow to respond if they respond at all. They did not ensure that my new car had a full tank when I drove it off the lot. They are still sending letters to the wrong address. The one bright spot is Jason in the service department.

I was ready to buy a new Toyota as my used one was 20 years old and was ready for some major work. Instead of putting money in an older car, I decided the best thing to do would be to buy a new car instead. I went to Capitol Toyota and the salesman showed me first the used Toyotas and then when I decided I could a new one for the price of a used one, he showed me the new cars. I ended up with a great deal on a new Corolla. I am pleased with the car and enjoyed the two year free maintenance that came with the car. So, I will buy my next new car from Capitol Toyota.

I asked Rich about my back breaks squeaking when my breaks don't need replaced, I was told that's completely normal. Every time I have an issue, I get asked what I want them to do about it. They need to change the name Toyota Care to, "We really don't care".

First time ever writing a review but the customer service here was so bad I had to.I talked to the online sales people and told them my situation. I am an Oregon resident but in the military so I live out of state. I was planning a trip back in a couple weeks to buy a car but wanted to see if I could get most of the paperwork done through email/fax/phone. The dealer said no problem. They began emailing me different cars and finally I found something I liked. I told them I would have someone come test drive for me the next day. They did and everything checked out so I wanted the car. After negotiating the price from the online price of $17k to $16k we agreed and I sent the loan docs over. During the negotiation we had been emailing every 10-15 minutes. Once the loan docs were sent I didnt hear back for a couple hours. During that time I sent 2 emails checking to make sure they were received. Also during that time I got a price alert email saying the price of the Rav4 online had been reduced to $16k, could be a coincidence but seemed weird. Finally right before close I got a hold of someone and asked about the status and also about the sudden price change online. The salesman said the person I had been talking to went home for the day but first thing tomorrow I would hear back. Next day they open at 9. I waited till about 1015 and didnt hear anything so I called to see what the status was. Another salesman says the guy I talked to doesnt get in till 11. Wait till about 1215 and still no one got back to me. Call again and this time another salesman says sorry, just send the documents to me and Ill call as soon as I get them. So I email them right over (maybe 2 minutes after we hang up). Dont hear anything from him for the next 4 hours. Try to call/email, whenever I do get ahold of anyone, no one can help and the guy I talked to is out. Finally got a hold of a manager at 7 and just like the day before the salesman I was talking to went home for the day. Next day they finally get back to me but tell me I need a $500 deposit to hold the vehicle. I say I dont necessarily want to do that but that would be OK. Throughout the day this then turned into a $1500 deposit then finally I was told $500 would work but not a deposit. It would be $500 down. Even though I already had an approved loan that was good to go. The salesman also told me if the car wasnt listed for a sales price of $16k online they could hold it but since it was on sale they cant hold the car. I informed him the car went on sale after I had already agreed to the price. After that I asked them if instead of a down payment if we could just overnight the papers through the mail so they could get the loan money. This was at around 4 Oclock. The salesman said he would have to check. Didnt hear back the rest of the day. The next morning I received a text message from the dealer saying the car had sold the day before.I understand my situation is a bit out of the box but I was very upfront about it and was assured all would be good. I feel like they just strung me a long, lying the whole way. Easily the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We hadn't bought a car in 10 years, with this probably being our last vehicle we really wanted to do our research. Meredith Lovegrove is the one who greeted us and I have to say it was refreshing to come across a female car sales person. She was so patient with us and incredibly knowledgable about the Toyota product, she showed us all the different kinds of Highlanders and really listened to what we were looking for in a vehicle. She spent a few hours with us and our actual test drive was about an hour long. She allowed us to drive all over on roads like we drive on a daily basis. We were introduced to her team leader, Billy Hamill who also just seemed to want to help us make the right decision and educate us. When we asked how the Costco buying program worked they explained how easy it was. After we had done our research and driven the other cars we liked we simply went with the best, Toyota. We truly believe we had the best team at Capitol Toyota working for us. Thank you Meredith and Billy for such a great experience!

We purchased a 2006 4Runner last night and it was a rather lengthy, 3 plus hour process. We were told the vehicle had never been involved in any accidents, that it had belonged to a staff person at Capitol Toyota, and that everyone there loved it. It was, in fact, very nicely kept, clean and drove smoothly. There was a bit of confusion when it came time to give us the Car Fax report on the vehicle and I noticed that the final two pages of 7 were not include. When I requested them, our salesman said the printer wasn't working right and suddenly we were being whisked away to sign the final papers. The financing process had been easy, the salesperson amiable and friendly, and when it came time to negotiate the price, there had been some emotion but it seemed we'd gotten to a positive outcome for all. As we at last, hungry (it was after 8:00 pm) and fairly brain dead by this time, were walking out, the sales agent handed us the complete CarFax report and we drove away home, happy with our new 4Runner. Unfortunately, as I was eating my meal, I studied those final two pages of the Car Fax report and noticed a series of repeated sealing of the windshield at two to four month intervals during the year prior to it being sold to us along with a mention of a replaced rear view mirror and three engine checks during that same time period. I quickly deduced that there must have been a problem and rightly assumed that the windshield had been replaced incorrectly, not with the proper weight glass. Some consultation with windshield replacement specialists confirmed my suspicions so I called the dealership to discuss my concerns. I left a rather lengthy voice message for Charley Engelfried about what had happened, asking him to "make it right" for us. I was called back in less than an hour and spoke with Arthur Lyter, on Charley's behalf. He was courteous, forthcoming and apologetic. He shared that the car had been in a very small collision which did, indeed, result in replacement of the windshield. He thought that perhaps not enough folks on staff knew about it, which is why it wasn't disclosed to us. I tend to want to believe the best of people so I chose to believe him, that it was an oversight and not deception. He said we could either return the vehicle or they would make it right, replace the windshield properly this time, and added that they would do a complete body inspection on it for us and deliver a comprehensive written report, finally updating and correcting the Car Fax at the end of it. This seemed just and because we love the vehicle, I agreed to his offer. A few hours later I got a call from Charley Engelfield following up. He wanted to make sure that I was satisfied. He confirmed that the proper windshield had been ordered and we set the date for the inspection and repair for next week. He added that they would provide a loaner car and that he would also throw in some touch up paint so that I could take care of the bare metal spot which I assume is the result of that same accident. I am pleased with this customer service and the follow up by these folks. I bought a new Prius V there a little over a year ago and the service department has always been excellent. I am looking forward to continuing my patronage of Capitol Toyota due to the honorable way they handled this situation. I trust that the 4Runner will prove to be in solid structural shape and that we will enjoy it for many years.

Went to them based on reference from Costco Auto Services to get the Costco discount but did not see the person that we setup the appointment to see. Got another person instead. According to Costco, we were supposed to see the invoice price but never did. We were a bit naive about the discount so thought we got a good deal at the time as we were trading in a 2004 Ranger. It took 3 offers and counter offers to get to where we wanted to be after haggling back and forth for about 45 minutes. Long story short, Costco contacted us about the experience and we got a check back from Capitol for $500 about 4 weeks later. We bought a Camry Hybrid which we he had for 7 months and loved the car and I must say that their service dept is very good. The reason for the review now is that we recently sold the Camry due to circumstantial changes in our lives to purchase an Avalon Hybrid and again we went through Costco Auto Services again but this time we were setup with Lassen Toyota in Albany. Capitol is no longer in their program and after dealing with Lassen, it is was quite evident as to why. The difference was night and day. At Lassen, we were immediately shown the invoice with no haggling and no pressure, the way car buying should be. Buyer beware!

I recently took a trip to Salem and since I was looking for a Toyota Tacoma, I went to the dealership that had the most, Capitol Toyota. I meet a customer service fellow, better known as a salesman before I had even left my car. He was a very nice young man and got right to the point, selling the PU's that I wanted. I was in the PU of my choice in five minutes and took it for a test drive. He was very knowable and gave me all the ins and outs of the vehicle. I didn't purchased the vehicle that day but I sure learned a lot about the vehicle that I wanted to buy. I thought the service was excellent, I would definitely recommend Capital Toyota to my friends and family. I will go back again, soon.

Just wanted to tell you about Capital Toyota's shady sales practices. I went in to Capital Toyota to look at trading in my Camry on Friday. The salesman first shows me a flyer advertising a Corolla for $98 dollar a month, but after I started the to buy it, I found out that the deal ended the day before. After a while we agreed on a 2016 Corolla for $206 a month. Twice the price I was originally offered. I signed a statement that I agreed to the new price and we shook hands on the deal. I was excited about my new car. The sales person was giving me the owners manual and said they were gassing the car up and preparing it to deliver it to me. Then the finance guy came in and told me they had made a mistake and had quoted me the wrong price and tried to switch we to a more expensive car again. I don't know what their morals are, but where I come from a hand shake agreement is a binding deal. Each time we had a deal they tried to switch me to a more expensive car. Bait and switch is the way they do things. Don't trust them. Jerry Wade. (503-580-9267. If you have any questions about their shady practices give me a call.

Single women loss father of my child came in to get a lower payment car as I was paying 375 a month wanted to get a nice used car. Sales person wanted to make a sale I picked out a couple of used cars 2010 2011 sales person came back told me the banks would only do a new car loan since it was a better deal I believed them they told me only car eligible was Toyota corrolla S I didn't wat it but they said I could get it make payments for six months and then I could get into a better car with lower payments so I agreed to payments of 391 a month drove away next day got called in was told there was a error on the contract and I needed to come in to sign again so I did they said they put value of trade In wrong nothing was to change and I was good to go. I left first month payment is free well I recieved my bill three weeks later and saw it was for 491.76 I was upset went in and asked what happened that is not priced we agreed on they said trade in value was 2000 left over and that's what made it climb up. Nobody told me they told me they could take car back due to mine was sold already I was stuckthey said make payments for six months and bring it in to trade and lower payments. I waited a year same sales person dealt with me calledylu in at times for cars I might be interested used cars I tried trading in car all they could tell me was I needed more time I didn't understand why they wouldn't tell me. Then went to different dealership they told me what they did to me was wrong they jacked up my apr rate to 22% so basically the salesperson made a huge commission off me and I'm stuck with the car I won't ever get out from under the car unless I'm a millionaire. I went back in to talk to that salesperson and he straight told me he couldn't help me and he was planning on taking a cruise with his family. Upset yes I was. On top of that I started having problems with my car siding started coming off took it in asked them to check tire tread did inspection sent home paper work stTing tires were in great condition and the technician in front of me just pushed siding back in and said if it came out again then they would fix it. They returned my my car with tools in passenger side seat. Went driving to longview washignton and it was raining with my two year old in back seat car started sliding pulled over and called family they said my tread was low I filled out survey for dealer visit and complained recieved a nasty letter back saying I was lying so went in to service area asked a worker if my tires looked okay he said no I showed him email and my inspection report telling them they sent me On road like that all they offered was that I purchase new tires I absolutely HATE Toyota Capitol they should be ashamed. I don't recommend them to anyone. Now when I have to choose betweent heat for my child or my car payment I think of them and I'm angry I have been through enough horrible stuff in my life with loss of father of child and working full time and this car payment is killing us all so someone could make a extra dollar and go in cruises.

Called on vehicle seen online to ask if available .. Rudy said he would check came back to say yes it is when would you like to see. Made appointment to see next day. Got off a little early so we decided to go see vehicle. We don't live in salem so made the drive to dealership. Upon arrival I drove through lot but didn't see vehicle? We approached the showroom and we're met by Darren a sales rep who asked if he could help. We said we had talked to Rudy and had appointment to see tomorrow but had time so came this evening. Ok what vehicle. We told him and he said he would go get it. He left to bring back Rolo who asks all the same questions. Oh ok we will go get it... so we wait ... then Darren comes up and says oh I'll take you to see it ... so we get on golf cart and drive the lot three times looking for vehicle. But can't find it . Go back to showroom and wait. Finally Rolo shows up and gets on computer and says hmmm it's here we can't find it maybe it sold... We called three hours ago and have appointment to see tomorrow with Rudy we have told you that we came early but we're told vehicle is here . Oh well Rudy is on Toyota side this is Chevrolet. So we need to go to other showroom ??? No we can handle it to just have to find it wait here in cubical. So we wait as I watch Rolo wonder around looking lost and talking to other customers. Darren just sat with us looking confused as well.Aftet way to long a wait he says I'll go find out what's up. He comes back with Rolo who says we can't find it. What else are you interested in . Nothing I said but the vehicle we were told was here three hours ago oh it must have sold we just don't know for sure what else are you interested in . Nothing the vehicle we came to see.Well we don't know we're it is . I have an appointment to see a car tomorrow that isn't here now or you have no idea where it is .... well a yes so why wasn't I called and told this ???? So can I come back tomorrow and see it...well no we don't know where it is... So I said fine been told one thing but not the truth. We left and I came home and went online to their Web site and told them about are expirence. Also got Crystal Asman phone number and gave her a text I am deaf. She responded with oh sorry what can we do... followed by a phone call to my wife an more oh sorry. Then a call from Jeff and more oh sorry but it's our computers..... what can we do.. Then a text the next morning from Crystal wanting to find me a vehicle. Why you can't find the one you said was here and your computer's are so poor you can't keep inventory how are you going to do that??? Followed by a text from Art Lyter and more oh sorry what can we do . I would suggest any one looking for a vehicle stay along way away from these people and this dealership... They cover each other with the same story from the top down one liar covering for the next with no accountability . DO NOT Go to this dealership!!

I bought a new car from Capitol Toyota a few years back, so I thought I would give them another try when updating to a new one again. Last time they delivered my car dirty and I found out my "new" car was on the lot one year. Nate made an outragous offer and on my way out the door, I showed him why. He came down about $3000 and I ended up buying the car due to the lack of a competing car to purchase of the type I wanted. I figured that while they were "preparing" the car, it would be washed and detailed. I spent the next few days doing that. When making another purchase through Nate again, he gave me his "rock bottom" price on a new car that was way out of line. He refused to give me a price until I gave him a credit record. He told me it would not be a detailed one, so it would not affect my credit report. He lied. I told him I was planning to check around and he was aware that I was not hapy with his previous sale a couple years back.I went a few miles to another dealer who immediately offered about $2000 better price on the same car. I bought it. They through in some scuff proofing protectant items and delivered the car fully detailed, with tires I specified. Wow, I guess Nate just doesn't care.I wonder if Nate sells anything without pulling tricks on the customer. if you are willing to go his way, he can be real nice for the day.

The sales manager was very pushy, making promises that he could not get. I did not want to give up my social security number but he made me a payment offer he couldn't deliver. I would /will not recommend this dealer or any of the Capital dealerships to anyone, not even someone I don't like. Very upset with them running my credit several times without any concern for the damage that it would do to it.

We never would have known about the great deal on a new 2013 Toyota Rav 4 at Capitol Toyota in Salem Oregon if it hadn't been for this website that someone told me about. We drove 250 miles to get this deal and the experience was the best one we have ever had when buying a car. No pressure, very respectful, and gave us a great deal.

We have been looking for a 2013 Toyota Rav 4 for several months now. Last weekend I was looking at cars.com and saw the perfect car for us at Capitol Toyota in Salem Oregon. We live 250 miles away in Crescent City California and decided that it was worth the drive to see if we could get the car we really liked. We have been driving a Toyota Corolla for 14 years so we know first hand how valuable and reliable Toyotas are. We called Kevin Russell the day before we drove up to let him know we were interested in the car and was it still available? Kevin was very nice and professional on the phone and had the car ready for us to look at when we arrived the next day around 6pm, which we really appreciated. The price on the car was a very good price but our offer was off by a few hundred dollars. When it looked like we couldn't come to an agreement Billy Hamill walked over to the desk where we were sitting. He asked us how much we differed in price and told us that we could have the car at our price which was all we could afford. We were so happy to be able to get the car and color we wanted! After the paperwork was finished about Kevin took a lot of time to make sure we knew how the Rav 4 operated and showed us all the gadgets we will need to know about and use. By the time he was done we felt confident we could drive off the lot and enjoy our ride home.We love our new car and we can't say enough about what a great dealership Capitol Toyota is. Everyone we came in contact with were friendly and helpful and respectful. Kevin spent a lot of time with us and he is a great asset to the dealership. We appreciated that Billy was so willing to deal with us too. This is the best dealership we have ever dealt with. There was no pressure or unpleasantness at all from them. We have been telling everyone we know that this is the best place to buy a car and would recommend them to anyone.Mark and Linda Miller

Carlos Arroyo is amazing. He is calm, knowledgeable, honest, and non pushy. Carlos tries to get you the best deal. My family lives two hours away from the dealership. I called Carlos, and within one hour, we had agreed upon a car, a price and financing. Carlos assured me that when we arrived the next day, the car would be ready for a test drive, and there would not be any surprises. We arrived the next day, and everything went exactly as planned. Carlos and Capitol Toyota are an oasis within the car selling desert. If you want to have an amazing car buying experience, then call Carlos at Capitol Toyota!

I have recently just purchased my second car from Capital Toyota. I live in Portland, but have found that Capital has more inventory, and better prices than any of the dealers near me. I had an idea of what I wanted, so I called Mike and he was able to work everything out with me over the phone. I told him exactly what I was looking for, and it was by far the easiest experience we have ever had. I made the drive down to Salem, and it was well worth it to save thousands. He wasn't there when I arrived after 8pm (shame on me) but Lisa took care of us, got us into sign our paperwork, and we were in and out of the dealership in less an a half and hour. When does that ever happen??? I would absolutely go back again, although I won't need to know having purchased two cars. :)

On 11/5/12 I had car problems on the way to work. I drove over to Capitol Auto Group where I met Mark and told him my car has issues and I need it looked at. He filled out the paperwork and I went in the waiting area. An hour later Mark came in to give me the news about my auto and it was awful news. Usually I can handle all kinds of news without too much affecting me, but this week was a very tense week for me because this same week on Friday, is my bankruptcy hearing and I was on edge. You see, at 55 years old I never thought I'd be in this situation ever in my life. With a cut in my monthly salary of $670 per month added on top of furlough days at a cost to me of $300 less for each month we have a furlough day, I found myself in more debt than I could afford. As a single person, I had no choice but to file and my hearing is this week Friday. I mentioned to Mark that seeing he has been here at Capitol for over 8 years, I am looking to him to point me in the direction of a sales person with the following attributes. The person needs to be a great listener, be compassionate and not treat me as if I am just another dumb female needing help. He said he knew the right person for me and left. Mark quickly returned with a man named Chris and our journey began. I told Chris about my car and I also told Chris that being an honest individual, I wanted him to know that on Friday I have my bankruptcy hearing and told him he would see this on my credit report anyway and I wanted Chris to know I am an open book, no secrets. Chris could tell this was a very hard thing for me to talk about in front of someone who barely knows me, but it was on this day that I found out just how much Capitol Auto honors Customer Service and the lengths they are willing to go to prove they not only "talk the talk" they also "walk the talk!" So after taking a PT Cruiser for a drive, I fell in love with this car and we went back to the office to do some paperwork and number crunching, only the number crunching was being done to benefit me in the long run. I had no idea who Jamie Mogle was or at what lengths he would go to help me, but this I can say, both he and Chris went to the extreme to make sure I left in a safe vehicle an din working out a deal with the owner Scott, I not only have a loaner to use until as soon as Friday of this week or as long as January of 2013, but rest assured, when I do return to Capitol Auto, I know that both Jamie and Chris will work just as hard to help secure affordable financing for me so I can own that PT Cruiser that I fell in love with yesterday! You are probably wondering what the morale of this long story is. If you have to ask, you missed it early on in my story - it is centered around the customer - me and their desire (both Jsmie and Chris) to make my wish come true! A acr that fits me without costing a fortune and to think when I got up yesterday, I would be given the opportunity to be on the receiving end of such great, caring individuals as is Scott, Jamie and Chris. To know that a person in need can still find others who know what it is like to be given a second chance at something, well it simply brings tears to my eyes! I am the one who left feeling blessed yesterday and for that, I want everyone to know that Capitol Auto walks and talks the talk when it comes to Excellent Customer Service. Thank You1 Sincerely,Kristine Kersine

Okay. Never trust a used car salesman but Capitol Toyota reached a new low in my experience. Not only was I lied to about the quality of the vehicle (massive oil leak) by the salesman but insulted by their lack of interest in my problems (had to have car towed 3rd day of driving due to no maintenance (salesman assured me there had been). I liked salesmanager Kurt suggestion that I trade up to a "better" car but as the one he sold me has a massive oil leak (3 quarts first tank of gas) I would get very little in trade in. Avoid this place. I hear good things about the Toyota dealer in Wilsonville.

Needed a reliable car for a long commute. Assured by Salesman Andy that all of there Toyotas are checked out and if they have any serious problems they are wholesaled out. I guess a massive oil leak that required 3 quarts of oil with the first tank of gass is a "serious problem". Salesmanager Kurt suggested trading up the car but warned I would get very little trade in as the car has a major oil leak. Promised by Kurt and rep "Charlie" they would get back to me but I never heard from either one. Also, car was had to be towed 3rd day of driving due to loose alternator bracket. Manager at Car Care rated service of vehicle "poor". I would have had the car checked out by another shop but I was a fool to trust Capitol Toyota.

What we found was the 2012 Toyota Sequioa, seating for 7, leather, GPS and a towing capcity of 7400lbs. Our Salesman's name was Bily and was extremely helpful. He answered all our questions and if he didn't know the answer to a particular question he researched it instead of BS'ing his way through it. We have been married for 22 years and have purchased many new vehicles, this experience was by far the most pleasant. Thanks

I came to the dealership. I told them that I was just beginning my research for a car that might best accommodate my handicaps and they were the first dealership I'd been to so far. Just wanted to test drive their 2003 Park Avenue and see what their lowest price might be but told them that I would not be making any purchases for at least 3-4 weeks. They graciously allowed me a test drive, and I thanked them and planned on moving on to the next dealership and a different car (a LeSabre Limited) as I recall. Instead, they proceeded to keep my wife and I there for hours trying to hard sell us using about 3-4 different salesmen. When I politely told each of them in succession that I was only researching and not purchasing anything that day, they would say just a minute, I need you to speak to another so and such, with me having to explain again and again that I was just researching and nothing more. (Came to find out later that the previous owner who turned the car in to the dealership told me the car had many problems that the dealer seemed to know nothing about!) Facing endless pressure to buy now, I ended up setting aside all my common courtesies and had to just walk away or I'd still be there!!!

I came into the dealership wanting to buy a vehicle. I had the vehicle I wanted to buy in mind. My boyfriend and I sat down to negotiate prices with Kurt. He was not understanding and very short towards us. I had many questions and Kurt's exact words were "Don't waste my time. Don't waste your time." Basically I was shocked that I was being treated so horribly and was completely fine with leaving the dealership and not going back to give them my business. Even if Kurt was having an "off" day doesn't make it right to treat a guest/customer that way. Part of running a good business is treating your customers well so word-of-mouth promotes your business and your sales can increase.

My son-in-law just relocated from Arkansas to Oregon for a new job. Due to circumstances with the economy, he and my daughter and their three kids have had a rough couple of years. He flew there and was dependent on public transportation to get him to and from wherever he needed to go, including work, until he could purchase a vehicle. After being turned down at another dealership, he then tried Capital Auto. This dealership worked with him, mostly over the phone, since he had no transportation of his own. With their help, he and my daughter were able to purchase a vehicle with payments that are within their budget. However, what I was most impressed by is the fact that Ken, the special financing manager, actually took the time to drive the car from Salem to Bay City, right to Lance's front door. That is customer service above and beyond the usual and customary. Moving to a new location where you don't know anyone is stressful enough without having to rely on bus lines and taxi service to get you where you need to go. This dealership proved that it wasn't just 'the sale' that mattered. They cared about my son-in-law's circumstances. My daughter and their kids will make the trip there to join him within a few weeks. Until then, our minds can rest easier knowing that he has a good, dependable vehicle that will serve him well.Thank you, Capital Toyota, for going the extra mile to help out a young man who not only needed a car, but new friends as well. My husband and I were looking for a little Yaris to add as a second car for me. We had surfed some prices int he area, and after getting the run-around at a dealership or two, we found a price at Capitol that was $1K lower than any other dealer's sticker price, and they had one left! Off to Salem we went, had a very polite exchange with the salesman, BUT during the negotiation process it was found that the price on the website was no longer the current price of the vehicle, because of a cash back offer that was only available during the previous month (which was true, we looked it up). Well, after a bit of back and forth, Capitol decided to stick to their internet deal and sold it to us for the low price, regardless of the lack of cash back! Awesome. I'd go back here anytime, and let my friends know that it is worth the bit of extra drive from Portland!

When I called I was able to get in for an appointment right away and upon arriving the service personnel came out to my car to greet me - no waiting whatsoever. Bought my Venza new two years ago, and am still enjoying it. You are the only people who have serviced it, and I don't anticipate taking it anywhere else. Your service is thorough and your people friendly, and prices are competetive. No reason to change. It is a GREAT road car, and on the road gives me 28 to 30 mpg, around town probably average 15 to 16 mpg. Can't compete with a Prius, but I'll take the comfort instead.

I started looking for a 2010 Prius at a Portland area dealer and got their "only" price and trade-in appraisal for my 2002 Outback. I didn't think Capitol Toyota would meet the price, but I contacted them via internet as I wanted to purchase locally if possible. When my husband and I went in Bob Long did meet the price and the trade-in allowance was more that the previous dealer had offered, even with some front bumper damage that happened after the first appraisal. No hard sell--we went in knowing what we wanted and how much we were willing to pay. We've had three contacts with the service department: a brake recall, an oil change, and a labor-only visit to install aftermarket driving lights and mud flaps. They came in under estimate for the installation visit, and we got excellent service at all three visits. We are happy campers!

My husband and I came to "just look" at Toyota's in October. I had just graduated from nursing school and my husband wanted to buy me a new car. Kevin greeted us in the parking lot while we were looking at Camry Hybrid's. Kevin asked if he could help us out with anything and touched on all of the features of the Camry Hybrid. He was not pushy at all, like we have had in the past. We discussed that we were really interested in the Avalon and he was able to pull one from the back for us to take for a test drive. I loved it, it was a great car. We got back to the lot and discussed the MSRP that was on the car. I didn't know if we could justify spending that amount of money on a car and we again walked over to the Camry's. They were cheeper and got better gas mileage. Kevin asked if we wanted to take a Hybrid for a test drive; he acted like he had all the time in the world for us. Once I drove the Hybrid I realized the difference between the Camry and the Avalon and what a step above the Avalon was. The sale was made and it was worth every penny. Financing it was a breeze. Just to be sure, we contacted Wilsonville Toyota after we left the lot and asked them what there no bull price was for the same 2011 Toyota Avalon and we got very comparable pricing.

My wife Becky and I purchased a 2010 Venza from Capitol Toyota on Novemeber 21st. As a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy who just recently returned from my third deployment to the Persian Gulf in the last 6 years, buying a new vehicle was something I had given a lot of thought of during my time in Kuwait. The whole experience of working with Capitol Auto Group during this transaction was very positive. From Frank Roe's (Internet Sales Manager) personable emails to meeting and working with Sal Giaconia (Sales Consultant), who by the way, treated my wife and I with respect, professionalism, and let us take the time we needed in the purchase of our vehicle and getting a good deal in the process. I don't want to leave out J.R. as we appreciated his friendly manner and low-key approach, and even Mike in Finance was a pleasure to work with. Usually the finance guy is the one you dread talking to when navigating through an auto purchase, but not so with Mike who was very pleasant to work with.Between my wife and I, this is the third vehicle we have purhased from Capitol. We live in Eugene, and my wife lived in Grants Pass when she bought a Celica from your dealership in the 80s, so that says a lot about the way you folks do business.

Dealership was easy to find and access. Dealership employees were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I am very happy with the pre-owned Highlander that the salesman helped me find. Great experience all around! I would recommend this dealership to any of my friends in the greater Salem area!

Great experience. Ask for Gil Anderson. No pressure and extremely knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and walked me through everything about the car. He gave what I felt to be good honest recommendations based on what I what we discussed I was looking for. Highly recommend Capitol Toyota and Gil Anderson for anyone looking for a new Toyota.

JR Gasper was very helpful and nice!! I wished there was more salespeople like him that aren't pushy!! I was in my lunch hour and I really didn't have any time. Knowing this JR was quick to get information that I need to make a wise decision. I will recommend this salesperson to all my friends and family!! Thanks

If you want to go to a car dealership where you feel comfortable and welcome, Capital Toyota is by far the best. Buying the car of my dreams was made easy and actually fun. When I first got to the dealership, I really wasn't impressed with the salesman that approached me. We didn't seem to connect, he didn't know where he was going, and he didn't know his inventory. He was not professional so I left. That being said, I wouldn't recommend Chris Long especially if forming a connection with the sales associate is important to you. However, If you find yourself at Capital Toyota looking for a car, I would defiantly recommend Gabe Garcia. Hands down best car experience I have ever had. Over the course of almost two months Gabe helped me find the perfect Mazda. He was very helpful and not pushy at all. He would let me know whenever a new Mazda came in to the dealership. I sure it was very frustrating for him not being able to find me the right car, but he never showed it. He was always nice, and really fun to work with. What I liked best about Gabe was that he would constantly say, I'm working for you. And that was very important to me, knowing that he was going to find me my dream car, at a price that I would feel comfortable with. And he did! Thank you so much Capital Toyota! And an extra thank you to Gabe for sticking with me, and finding me my perfect Mazda 3! I love it!So go to Gabe Garcia , tell him Maria sent you!

My family has always bought their cars from Capitol Toyota and now I know why. From the moment I stepped into the parking lot to the moment I had the keys to my new car everyone at Capitol Toyota was beyond friendly and helpful. I felt comfortable talking to the sales rep about what I was looking for and he was able to help me find a car that fit my needs and my budget. Even the man who prepared the paperwork for me to sign was very nice and answered all of the million questions I had about my financing and warranty options. I'm proud to say my entire family buys from Capitol and now I can say I do too.

Frank made it very easy for us to buy our car. Everything was ready when we got there. All we had to do was sign papers. He is really good at what he does. We love our new car!I gave Frank all 5's because he really did give us great all-around service. I told him what we wanted and he found it right away. It was the best car-buying experience I have had.

I bought my used car from Frank. He had the vehicle ready upon arrival. Almost no time wasted. I live across the state, and was a little afraid to do business in Salem, but Frank made the experience very easy. I am working with him now to buy a Tundra for my construction company. He only calls me when he finds EXACTLY what I am looking for. He has been a pleasure to work with, and I have had 4 friends that have bought from him also. Highly recommend using Frank Roe if you want a positive car-buying experience.

I was in need of a commuter vehicle to replace my truck. Frank showed me a used car that was exactly what I needed. He worked with my credit union on financing my car as well as letting me know what other options were available. It was a laid back experience and I plan on going back next time I'm in the market for a car.

Frank is a good friend of mine and has always been very helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure to work with him again and the rest of the Capitol team. I feel like I got a great deal and I love my Toyota FJ! My family has also purchased a new vehicle from Frank and they had the same level of satisfaction with their purchase as well.

I wasn't looking for anything in particular, yet I was. I didn't know what it was I just knew I would know the car when I see it. We both continued to look. I assumed I would have to call him, but that wasn't the case. Each time he got a car close to what I describe he called. I was looking at all dealership and private owners and each time I did I gave Mike a better description of the car I was hoping for. He was the only sales person throughout the dealers that intiated calls with me. I'm sure that is why he found the car because he was seriously interested in me and what I wanted. Mike was so patient and available on my many return visit and he never gave up.Thank you.

Tim showed me several Toyotas and the last of course was the Rav4. I had previously owned two vans and liked being able to set up high enough to see everything around me. The Rav seemed to have what I wanted with plenty of storage. I am in love. thank you

In February of 2010, I purchased a 2010 Toyota Venza from the staff at Capitol Auto Group. I actually came from Beaverton for the purchase, as I had heard good things about the people at the dealership. Definitely did not find the pushy salesfolk that one might have become accustomed to in the resellers in more urban locations like Portland. They took the approach of selling me the car I need, not the car they need to sell. If I started looking at cars higher than my price range, they guided me back to where I needed to be and I am thankful every month as my payments are very palatable. In general, pricing was competitive and the selection was vast. I am currently in the process of perhaps making second purchase at the sister Subaru dealership. Working with the same folks across dealerships is nice as the same, polite, staff is able to offer a wide range of options.Service visitations have been surprisingly good. I am not used to having the car cleaned/vacuumed unless I take one of our cars to Lexus, where the high level of pamperings are greeted with superflous priced labor, parts, and big fancy hair styles. At Capitol, it is surprisingly possible to get a good level of service without having to explain the invoice billings at great length to your counterpart. Would I buy there again? YES.

I had a great experience with Gavin. He was very respectful of what I needed in a car, and wasn't pushy like most car salesmen are. His knowledge about the cars we were looking at was more than just what was on the sticker which is great. Even though I didn't buy a car, I'll be coming back there as long as Gavin is working for them.

I went looking for an inexpensive used car. Gabe was friendly and showed me the cars that they had. He suggested the idea of leasing a car but wasn't pushy. I took a test drive in a used Tercel with mid-range mileage. I was in need of a car and well may have bought it but they were asking way too much, over and above Edmunds dealer retail. It was the last day of the month and a great day to buy a car. Too bad. Other than that great service and friendliness.

I know its still winter, it is the middle of the week and overcast skys, but really why would a business NOT want to sell any cars. I visited Capital Toyota in Salem on Wednesday March 3 2010 having seen an add on TV for zero percent financeing. Aint it great when a company is trying to restore consumer confidence in their products.Anyway I arrived onto the Lot at about 11:30 am, and was left to wonder around looking for new cars alone. I observed 8 different employees walking trough the lots and not ONE person inquired if I needed or even wanted any help. I was not dressed up but I was not in rags either, my hair was clean and well done, after all I had showered. I finally decided since not one single person was going to come to me that I guess I had to go into the showroom and see if anyone was home. Well the 2 men sitting at theri desks seemed to be suprized that anyone came to thir area. One gentlement continued to eat his lunch instead of standing up and greeting a customer. the Second gentleman just stayed seated at his desk, he did answer my question but really gave the impression that he did NOT want to sell any cars.Too bad boys, I took a 25 mile trip north on the freeway and bought a tricked out NEW car for a good 5K less than your advertised MSRP, now in all honesty I did not enter into any deal making process with your dealership so who knows I could hav probably got the same price your your dealership buy why spend my HARD earned money at a place that cant be bothered.Sincerly a Never to return customer
