Great car buying experience. Sales rep (Dan) was polite and very pleasant. He had a great sense of humor, which is important to me. He wasn't pushy or condescending (which I have experienced in the past). He listened and as soon as I found that my initial choice really didn't meet my needs, he listened to my reason and provided me with the vehicle I ultimately bought. Over the years I have run into the proverbial pushy car dealership, especially it seems because I was a woman alone. Not the experience at this location. I was treated with respect and didn't receive any kind of "sales pitch". Even the paperwork process was handled professionally, politely and efficiently. Kudos to everyone at this dealership. It was a pleasant experience for sure.

I was very fortunate to be able to find a car that was made for me in such a short amount of time here at Central Hyundai. I came in after going to many other dealerships, and feeling defeated as my car was totaled due to a tree falling on it. When i arrived Carlos was there to help me find exactly what i was looking for. I ended up going back the next day, and had to have the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. Carlos was great and was on top of making sure I was making the right decision. Peter and Tyler also helped through the buying process and they were amazing as well. I would recommend anyone looking for a new car to check out the guys at Central Hyundai Plainfield, Carlos is your go to guy.

I bought a Mazda here and everything the head sales man said was all lies. It was certified and they said it was all up to date on maintenance, but when I went in for an oil change 2 weeks later they wanted me to spend $2100 on maintenance plus tires! Everytime I go in there it's all new people, never any familiar faces. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They tell you what you want to hear at the time of the sale but when it comes down to it they do not deliver.

I was a little leary of going to this dealership because of the reviews, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Ricky, Matt, and Chris took very good care of me. I was given a fair amount for my very well used trade, and they did the brakes and oil change before I picked up my new used car. They put everything in writing before I signed anything, which was important to me because I've had dealerships promise and then not follow through once they got their money. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. They even let my mechanic put the car up on their lift before I bought it.

We recently bought out the lease on our 2014 Ford Fusion and Worked with Ryan Nagel and his Supervisor, Chris. Both were very professional and helpful. I don't know where all these negative reviews were about. I had a wonderful experience here at Central! I drove from over an hour away and was greatful to do so. The sales staff were very friendly and worked on everything I asked for. Not only did they work with me on giving me as much as possible on the trade I still owed on that had problems but the salesman Rick actually followed me back home because I needed a cosigner who wasn't able to make the drive (I'm 70 miles away from the dealership). Also I bought a used car and most dealers never put gas in a USED car but he tool it and almost filled it for me! The first time in 15 years that a dealership even put gas in the car, being a used one, let alone just about filled it! I had driven to the opposite side of the state the day before and had a dealer try and pull a bait and switch on me, I wasn't happy. To have the opposite experience was wonderful! Thank you to all the staff that helped me! I will consider them for future purchases even being so far away!

Alyssa Sanchez and Joe Lamonica provided me with the best car search and purchase (lease) I have ever experienced. I live in Rhode Island, an hour away from Central Auto Group in CT. I started receiving emails from Alyssa after searching on the internet for remaining 2016 Sonatas. Several dealerships contacted me, but Alyssa was BY FAR the most responsive. She found exactly what I was looking for - 2016 ECO trim, silver, a cd player, and power driver seat. When I could not make it to the dealership during that week after work, she spoke with her sales manager, and everything was handled over the phone with my husband and I - on a Saturday. Joe even offered to drive the car to me in Middletown, RI. Not only was their response and caring attitude the winner for me, but they beat the price the dealership 3 miles from my home in RI offered. Joe was delightful and very knowledgeable upon delivery of my new Sonata on September 14th. Since then, he and Alyssa have continued to be immediately responsive to my every question since then, as I am getting used to my new car and new touch screen. Just a quick note - I answered No to the questions about being introduced to Central's Service department, because I live too far away to go there for oil changes. Again, I have nothing but WOWS for Alyssa, Joe, and the Central team.

This is my second negative review for Central Auto Group. I wrote my first review in February 2016 regarding promises that were made but not kept (I was told I would get a full tank of gas and was under the assumption that they would not sell me a car that would immediately need an oil change- my bad) and unprocessed paperwork. I did receive a check for the cost of a tank of gas and an oil change...after a month of being told I would receive one and weeks of me calling to ask when I would receive the check. The paperwork issue was not resolved until June, and only because I called and asked why my loan company had not received a check from them for my cancelled extended warranty policy. The loan company processed the information as soon as I sent it to them, but apparently the paperwork that Central Auto Group needed to complete sat on a desk for 4 months. Again I had to call multiple times and send multiple emails until the issue was resolved. I bought my car in late December 2015. In June my air pressure light came on and I did not think much of it, until it kept coming on every week to ten days. Upon further inspection I discovered that one of my tires had dry rot! I took my car to a Honda dealership because of a common issue with the gas cap and asked them to also do a full assessment. The Honda dealership rated my back two tires' treads at 7/10 and my front two tires at a 4/10! I bought the car 6 months ago and now I have to buy 4 new tires!! Two with unsafe treads and one with dry rot and in order to keep the car balanced I have to buy the 4th, too. I emailed Mike, who was very helpful with my issues before, and he called me right away and asked if I had an estimate for the cost of 4 news tires and said he would work on it and call me the next day. That was August 25th and I have not heard from him since. I emailed him on September 9th to see if he had any answers, but again I have not heard back. I can not in good conscience recommend their sales, finance, or customer service department based on my first experience, and now I can not recommend their service department if they inspected the tires on my car and thought they were acceptable.

Overall I was happy with my car buying experience. I did not like that they added gap ins without asking , that was later deducted, also glass etching the vin 189.00, and I believe there was a 300.00 charge for mv on top of tax title and reg,I would of registered it myself.

I would just like to say how much of a phenomanal job everyone did at Central Hyundai. I have poor credit, sticky financial situation, and the car I was driving probably wouldn't make it home. I know it was a stretch, Jaime in finance, along with Mike and Joe, they made it happen for me. I love driving my 2016 accent, I get great gas mileage, my monthly payment is affordable, and I really feel like I am part of the Hyundai family at the dealership. When I got approved everyone in the show room hugged me and congratulated me to the point I was in tears of joy. Great group of people at Central Hyundai, I will recommend any and all people I know to shop and service at Central. I am one of very many satisfied customers and it's because of the people at the dealership. I just want to say thank you again for making it happen for me.

This is by far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I was interested in a vehicle that was listed as new. I called the dealership regarding the price that was on the internet and was told my price would be almost $3000 above that by a gentleman named Mike who had no Customer Service Skills at all and would probably do better working behind a bar. I called back and spoke with someone named Kim who helped me get the price that was listed online. When I drove across the state I found out it was not a new vehicle at all but a demonstrator vehicle with thousands of miles on it. I still was interested because of the price and not being titled. So we work on a deal for my trade for $8k. I placed a small deposit down and stated I will be back to complete the paperwork when I find out what my interest rate would be. I did not want to drive across state over an hour away to walk away from a bad deal when I had my own financing that would give me 2.5 percent (they would not allow me to use my own financing for this vehicle). A whole day goes by and I am requesting an update to the financing of the vehicle and kept on being put off. I also check the warranty on the vehicle, I was told that the warranty would start at delivery of the vehicle, I use the VIN number and contact the dealer service department and they advised that the in service date of the warranty started over a year ago, and when bringing this to the attention of the sales person Joe, I advised that I must have wrong information, but this is from the dealership. So at the end of the business day(Friday) I am texting and calling Joe and he is telling me "Oh just come to the dealership and don't worry about the rate". Now the dealership is approximately an hour and a half away.I tell him No, I do not want to make that trip without knowing the interest rate, I want to be able to consider all of my options. So he gives me the interest rate of 4.29%(now I have rate of 2.5% through credit union) I advised Joe I don't think I want to do a rate that high for this vehicle and if that's the case I want them to mail my deposit back. So next day I sleep on it, I decide I really like the vehicle I will drive down after I get out of work and see if we can work something out. I get to the dealership and they try to fleece me and say "Oh well you should have took the deal yesterday, now we will only give you $7k for your trade and the interest rate for the term you requested will be in %5 percent range.) I have a credit score in the 700s. I have never been treated so poorly by a dealership. I put these guys in the groups with lawyers and politicians, they are all snakes in the grass. A lie

My son, his wife, and my grandkids went to your dealership to check out a car for me, since I needed a reliable car. As we looked, the kids kept saying, "Are you happy you're going to get a car?" We hadn't gotten it yet, and didn't know what the bottom line was going to be, so I told them I wasn't happy yet. After everything was said and done and I had the keys, the kids asked again, "Are you happy?" and I said, "YES!!! I'm happy!" I'm very happy with the whole experience, and I love the car.

I decided to visit the Central Auto Group in Plainfield, Ct.on Saturday, July 30th because I had just recently started a new job as a "medical courier". My job would require that I would be working out of my own vehicle, In other words, my car would be my office on wheels, so I would be needing a reliable vehicle that was fairly compact and would also need to be great on gas mileage.When I arrived I was immediately created by the smiling face of Patrick Saad, one of the salesmen. I informed Patrick what exactly Iwas looking for and within 10 minutes he had me checking out a 2016 Ford Focus. the size and price were close to what I was looking for, so we took it for a spin,and I like the feel of the car immediately. It was like it was specially designed for me. I loved it. I did want to try out a couple of more vehicles, just to make sure, but the Focus seemed like the perfect fit. So from that point on, Patrick did his magic, and answered all the various questions that my wife and I had, and on Tuesday morning I drove out of the parking lot of Central Ford a very happy customer. Brought my car in a few times for a vibration issue. Service department said it was the tires "absolutely nothing wrong with the car", however if I put new tires on it and it happened again they would fix the issue and replace the tires. It happened again and are only willing to check alignment if I purchase tires there. They never advised alignment be checked on any of the previous checks. Remember, absolutely nothing wrong with the car. I will never purchase a car from there again. I need a service department that is willing to keep their promises.

I visited this dealership on June 11, 2016. There was a used Frontier which perked my interest.At first, everything seemed fine. I was pre-approved with Capital One. I asked the dealer if they accepted Capital One financing. Three separate employees, including the Sales Manager, told me yes. One employee stated that they not only accepted Capital One financing, but that they could get me an even better rate. I am well aware that interest rates are largely dependent on my credit score. Capital One, after entering all of the truck's information, quoted me at a rate of 7 - 8%.After we agreed on a price, the salesperson told me to go relax at home, and he would call me when the financing paperwork was ready. I was super excited, and ready to purchase. The salesperson later told us to arrive at 3:00 PM. We showed up at 3:00 PM (on our anniversary, mind you), and were seated in a waiting room. Our salesperson told us that he would be leaving at 4:00 PM, but that the rest of the staff would take good care of us. I've never had a salesperson leave me before finalizing a purchase. It just seemed unprofessional - that should have been a sign of what was to come. The Finance Manager called us to her office at around 4:15 PM, but only after trashing the last customer she spoke to. I was appalled, but tried to ignore her rude nature.When we sat down with the Finance Manger, she quickly jumped to a 72 month payment proposal, at a rate 3 - 4% higher than what Capital One had quoted us. I asked what had happened with our Capital One application, and she told me that the dealership does not use Capital One, after three separate employees had told me otherwise. She went on to say that she had been doing this a very long time, and that this is the best rate we are going to get. We walked away from the deal.Our salesperson promptly texted us. He asked if everything was alright. I said no. I was pissed that three separate employees had lied to us, and that the Finance Manager hadn't even tried to process our Capital One pre-approval, as if we were just supposed to settle for her proposal because she allegedly knows best. I was then told that he would get us our quoted rate. I told him I know that some of this comes down to our scores. He adamantly declared, again, that he would get us our original rate. I began to feel a little better, even though we had wasted much of our anniversary on a dead end deal.Three days later, the salesperson texted me. He said that the rate offered was the best that they were going to be able to do. He dropped it to the dealership's buy rate, which was a fraction of a percent lower than what the Finance Manager had offered us. The only difference was they decided not to mark up the rate that their bank had offered them. I asked if he had tried to process the Capital One pre-approval. They still had not. I, again, was being told to settle for a rate that was 3 - 4 % higher than a quote I had in front of me.The salesperson tried to reassure me that I was receiving a good deal because he is the owner's son. I felt as though flaunting that was a bit inappropriate, and like he was trying to turn this into a pissing contest.I wouldn't have been so offended if they had just tried to process the pre-approval, but they have refused to even try. I affirmed with Capital One that any dealer can submit an application to them. They must be receiving a kickback from Wells Fargo. Why else would there be hesitance to save your customer potentially 3 - 4%, and complete a sale? I was ready to buy, if they had just tried. They're just being greedy.This place is willing to say anything to try to make a sale. I can picture them trying to tell me they submitted an application to Capital One, just to shut me up so I'd maybe settle for their rate. Even if they fixed this, I wouldn't be able to trust them again. It's too bad for them - I trade in a vehicle every three years. If they had treated me right, they could have made some money off of me.The Sales Manager said he would call me yesterday, and that he didn't know why they just won't run the application. He never called back.

I have been around the block or two buying cars through out my years and this dealership is BY FAR THE BEST I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED! The gentleman, Joe LaMonica, of whom not only greeted me promply but not in a rush also helped me with my entire visit. Joe is very knowledgeable with his vehicles! I was so impressed!!! I felt so comfortable with him I felt as though I had know him for many years, in fact, he is so involved in what he is doing I really felt I had that one on one time with him I actually just sat back and listened to every word he said. Really he is an exceptional man and you can tell he takes much pride in their customers and come to find out not only does he meet every expectation on my list he also helps everyone and does so in a manner, he makes it look easy although he may have one of the toughest positions there, he does it with ease and a grand smile!!! Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The only comments I have are fairly minor things: -My wife had mentioned more than once that the stickers should have been removed and glue cleaned off for us and that the car in general could have been wiped down/washed before delivery. -For me, I think the day would have gone a lot faster if the pricing on the used cars was available from the start. I think would would have still ended up in the same new car we bought, we just would have come to that decision faster. Ryan was a pleasure to work with, and we really enjoy our new car.

I believe in a work ethic that it seems not many people have anymore, the way you do a job is a direct reflection of yourself. This is the only place that i have seen in years that really takes pride in what they do. I am a very hard person to impress because it seems people just don't care anymore, but at central Hyundai that is not the case, they have the old time values, they care about what they are doing and as soon as you walk in the door you feel like you already know them, i wish i would have known them before i bought my other car from a different dealer. It was nothing less than impressive.

I was well satisfied with all aspects of the leasing process except for the finalization of price via the use of the "internet pricing" format.The internet clearly stated the sticker price(20,000) MINUS sale price (3,400) & MINUS loyalty rebate(500.00).Unortunately,the "fine print " Essentially eradicated the above price structure raising the cost of the auto to its original price.I am sure most auto dealerships price in this manner but It is a bit deceptive.I would have been happier just paying the sticker price (with a slight discount) than the 20 minute explanation why in reality the sale/loyalty was non existent.In any case.I was very impressed with my salesmen (Ricky) as to his knowledge and courtesy. AND yes I would by another Hyundai from Central but be more knowledgeable and abstain from asking about "internet pricing.

Did not originally or was not even thinking of purchasing a Hyundai. Was looking at higher end vehicles. After visiting Central Hyundai and explaining the type of vehicle that I was looking for, the salesman proceeded to take me on a test drive in a 2012 Hyundai sonata. I was impressed at how nice the car had driven, from which then we proceeded to the showroom to get a finalized price. While in the showroom I seen the 2015 sonata sport and asked ?, how much is this car. They quoted as saying that this car had about $7000 in rebates. and I was looking at about $25,000. The next day I returned, for I was short on time, for a test drive and a final number. Needless to say I was impressed, for it had numerous options and was about have the price of the other cars I was originally looking at. Plus it drove better in my opinion. The salesman was a big help and offered no pressure. Needless to say I ended up with a car that is very nice and totally unexpected. Thumbs for Hyundai.

I have to recommend Mike Brehler as a salesman. He is, without a doubt, one of the hardest working salesmen I have ever met in the auto industry. He truly works for the customer.I live in MA--about 45 minutes from the dealership. While on duty at the dealership, Mike took the time out of his day (and, presumably, away from commissions), to drive up to the MA RMV and get my car registered for me. I typically don't write reviews for anything...much less a car shopping experience... But this situation seemed to warrant a review. The entire experience--from start to finish--was great.I would highly recommend Central Hyundai if you're looking to buy a new vehicle. I had visited nine dealerships in three days when I arrived at Central Hyundai. Needless to say, Central Hyundai was my last stop. They gave me to price and experience I was looking for. Enough said.

Very happy with how things turned out with my Central Auto Group experience. After some miscommunication from their internet sales representative they honored a price we agreed on and found me the car I wanted from another dealer. They went out of their way to ensure I was pleased and everyone was extremely nice and easy to work with when I picked up my car. Their finance person was so honest she even caught that I gave them an extra $100 and returned it to me. While they were over an hour from where I live it was worth the drive.

"I wanted a new car. My cousin recommended Central, as he had already purchased 2 cars from them. He told me to bring my title with me,which I thought was strange.We arrived and were greeted at the door. My cousin asked for Joe and so it began. I explained what I wanted and was invited to sit in an Elantra and also an Accent.I was trading a 2004 Cavalier. The Accent was more than I expected so Enrico took me on a test drive. I was sold. I test drove a black one and that's what I wanted until Enrico showed me a silver one. A short time later Joe came over with the finance lady and it was a done deal. I gave Enrico my title. He got me a coffee and said he would be back shortly. During the ""shortly"" he filled the tank and had the car detailed. He unloaded my trunk for me,and I drove my Accent home. After I met the finance lady Enrico also took care of the registration and obtained my temp card and also my proof of insurance card."

I went to upgrade my 2013 leased Elantra recently and had planned on a 2016 with the same if not less features than I had on the old one due to not having as much money to put down... however, Brian and Joe worked some magic and got me into a BEAUTIFUL Electric Blue 2017 Elantra for not a whole lot more than I was already paying. Needless to say I was beyond excited.. and then to be told I now owned the very first Electric Blue one in all of New England... smile hasn't left my face yet and it's been a good week and a half!! LOVE my car, love the service these guys provided me... will be back in a couple years to upgrade again... maybe... I really do love this one :)

My mom was recently in a car accident and needed to get another vehicle, with my living over an hour away from her it was hard to coordinate our schedules along with mother nature cooperating to get to the dealership to shop for a car. When she found a Hyundai Elantra online that she liked, she contacted the dealership. Salesman Brian Pelletier drove the car to her house for her to look at, taking the time to explain the features of the vehicle. With the assistance of the General Manager Flippo and Salesman, Brian Pelletier my mom is now leasing a 2016 Hyundai Elantra. Flippo and Brian went above and beyond for my mom, I wish more dealerships treated their customers in this fashion. Even though I live so far away, I will be taking my Hyundai Tucson here for servicing. Highly recommend.

I have had a horrific experience with Central Autogroup since purchasing my car there at the end of December. The salesman they paired me with was obviously new and when he came to pick me up so I could bring my new car home (which was a nice gesture) he smelled of cigarettes and had the audacity to light a cigarette in the car while he was driving me to the dealership! While waiting for them to finalize my paperwork (which took about 2 hours) I witnessed bickering between managerial staff and office drama, something a customer should never have to witness. The car did not have a full tank of gas, as I was promised, nor was the oil freshly changed I had to drive it directly to a Honda dealership to get the radio working because they did not know how. The car itself has been great, but the horrific customer service has continued. Less than an hour after I left the dealership I called to cancel the extended warranty. I left a message for Jamie in finance and told her to cancel the extended warranty and to call me if she needed more information. I never heard so I assumed she had done her job. When I received my first bill for my car loan it was apparent that she had not cancelled the warranty. I called multiple times to speak with her but she was never "available". I finally was transferred to a manager named Michael, who seemed to actually care. He told me he would deal with the issue with Jamie and send me a $50 check for the oil change that was not done and the full tank of gas I was supposed to get. That was 3 weeks ago and I never received a check. I called the warranty company today and they informed me that the policy was never cancelled.This is the worst customer service I have ever received anywhere. Apparently unless you continuously call and badger them, they will not do their job. If this is not taken care of by the end of the day today I will demand to speak with the owner and give a detailed list about all of his employees who failed to do their job.

The lot is huge with a large variety for viewing. The will let you test drive anything that you're being serious about. My salesmen, Glen Horton, pulled cars out from way behind others all because I preferred that color to another. Took the time to help me with all my questions and if he didn't know he didn't just try and make stuff up, he would go and find out for me from another. Good area around the dealership to test drive with easy access to the highway to really get a feel for the car. Glen even filled the tanks of the car I was test driving so we could go a back road test for the Mazda I was interested in. Never felt pressure to buy it or any car for that matter. The paperwork felt pretty standard for a car buying experience but they were great with pricing. Showed me what they paid for it and what they offered me wasn't far from that price. Great dealership and an amazing salesman and fast customer service response.

I felt that I had to wait too long during the initial purchase. We were told that the car we wanted, in the color and with options desired was not available, but then it mysteriously appeared. We were told that it was misfiled in the inventory. Before it appeared, we test drove several different cars and models, which took several hours. My wife and I are very pleased with the car we eventually received.

We were not really looking for a car, but after Eneriko left us a message, it got us thinking. Our meeting with Eneriko was wonderful. He was kind, patient and was able to answer all of our questions. During our first meeting we also were introduced to Rob and Phillipo. Both made us feel at ease and put no pressure on us at all. We left the first meeting without a vehicle, but with amother appointment 2 days later to discuss more options. We test drove two VW suvs after meeting Tyler. Rob, Tyler, Phillipo and especially Eneriko made us offers we could not refuse. Today we leave Central Auto Group with a Truck for my husband and a Tiguan for me. They helped us meet our price point and the rest is history. We could not have done this without the professionalism and kindness we were shown. 5 years ago we bought our explorer and we are again repeat customers. Everyone was very pleasant and understanding. My salesman started right away with what I wanted in a car, and we went through some options and found the right car. I was about to test drive and see all of the features the car gave to me. Brian Pelliter gave my the whole run through of all of the features. Then they gave me the car for the night, with a full tank gas. The next day we had to sign paperwork and then the car was mine. Im am totally satisfied with everyone I came into contact with that night!

From the moment I stepped inside the doors I had nothing but a great experience .. I was looking for a newer car since mine was so outdated. This was my first time looking into a car on my own.. Went into this place even though I live in RI it is close to my job in Sterling. Initially went to see about a Ford Fusion that was extremely well priced for its year and mileage. Inquired through the internet first and they called me back. I arrived and met the lady I spoke with on the phone who introduced me to Alex. I explained right away that I was only there looking that day and was not leaving with a car, which he respected, jokingly adding "you can still take it today if you want to now." I sat and talked with him for a few minutes but had to get back to work. Needless to say that car was gone in a heartbeat (found out it was the LOT car, ditto the low mileage). I scheduled a Saturday appointment and did my research online and printed out the models I was interested in-mostly Hyundai Elantra's and Mazda 3's. From 1 pm until close at 5 pm Alex worked with me and allowed me to test drive 4 or 5 different cars, maybe more. At the end of the day I wittled it down to two different car's (neither of which I came in to look at, but Alex knew my criteria and showed them to me)-a 2014 Ford Fusion or a 2014 Hyundai Sonata-both were in great condition (minus cigarette burns in the back of the Sonata, which the manager said would be repaired if I got it). I asked if I could sleep on it and come back in the morning because my head was spinning at this point. Went home, did research, slept on it, met Alex at opening the following morning and badaboom all was settled. Was internet special so no haggling on the price, trust me I tried, but still got an amazing deal. Alex took his time, dealt with my indecisiveness, and did not push me in any way at all. First time buying from a dealer, and I will go back to him next time.

From the moment I arrived on the lot I was met with a friendly handshake and a smile. The salesman Rick listened to my needs and then proceeded to show me several vehicles that fit my list. I was very concerned due to the fact that I have never owned a foreign vehicle. The sales team made sure to put me at ease and all while NEVER degrading any other makers. It has been my experience that many dealers "belittle" their competition. NOT CENTRAL, at no time was I ever felt pressured or 'pushed' in a certain direction. The Sales Managers, Joe and Mike were friendly and LISTENED to my questions and gave me answers that satisfied me. The Business manager was extremely helpful and did not try to 'upsell' things. I ended up purchasing a car right off the showroom floor and took it home the same day. I was very impressed that even though the car was on the showroom floor they still insisted on sending it to clean up to make sure it was PERFECT. I am very pleased and am actually looking forward to stopping by to say hello!

Awful! I would never recommend going to this dealership it's very shady. Bought a car back in February where I had to argue to get the internet price they claimed to be unable to find although it pulled up fine on my phone as well as my friends phone. It was a 07 focus with 49k miles I call it my nightmare car. Within 3 weeks the transmission blew taking it back to central they inform me where I have just gotten the car they were going to put a warranty on it and replace it with a brand new one. A few weeks later I call them to find out what's going on and they say they have decided to rebuild my transmission. I eventually got my car back on April Fools Day which the transmission was still slipping and I had to return it after 2 days. 3 weeks later when I call about my car I'm told that it would be 12 weeks before the part they needed would be in but if I had a little bit more money they would put me in a comparable car. When I told them I didn't have anymore money after buying this car the next day my car was ready to be picked up. Three months later my transmission is showing the same symptoms I took it in to be looked at again and was told there was nothing wrong with it. Went to take it to another dealership for a second opinion and they never put the warranty on the car! When calling and asking for the GM he was prompt to pass me off to another employee. Save yourself the headache and buy a car elsewhere

Had a little trouble getting a factory recall scheduled. I needed my car to commute daily to work. Dealer stated weekends were not an option. When I inquired about a loaner car I was told their loaner was loaned already. I asked for them to let me know when it would be available. They stated they would. I noticed a part in my car is broken. No one other than this garage has ever worked on my car, so I know the damage was done there. The worst part about it is that they used pieces of tape to hold the part in place. When I contacted the manager of the services dept, his excuses were nothing but lame. He said that part falls off with time, so his technicians taped it in place so it'd not fall. He could not sympathize or reason with me and completely failed to notice the irresponsibility behind his so-called technician's actions. The part didn't simply fall, it was BROKEN and then taped!Take your car there if you want, but make sure to inspect it thoroughly and look for pieces of tape when you get it back.

I went to purchase a brand new vehicle with my father being the co signer, who lives in another state and they knew that. Now that everything is signed I find out that he is the buyer and I am the co buyer, they never told me that, I have already gave them my vehicle and been driving new car for 2 1/2 weeks. They are not personable at all, they will tell you what ever they need to, to sell the car. I have never experienced anything like this. I feel like I was scammed into being the co buyer, they say that doesn't matter and now I am still waiting on bank paperwork and my registration because when I drove back up there to get it, they put my fathers address on it. They are so all over the place, every time I would call to talk to someone, I can never get a clear answer. The only thing good was I got the car for a good price, but I could have got that at any other Hyundai dealership.

i emailed central auto group with intentions of a bigger vehicle i was emailed immediately saying im preapproved for a new car BY KAYLIN THOMAS. i had mentioned i was upside down on my trade and should told me trade in had nothing to do with the approval and that it only had to do with payments. so i set up an appoinment and showed up early. i asked for her and she never dealt with us except a handshake and handed my paper work over to some unexperienced salesmen bobby. which had no knowledge of my situation, and said oh no we canmt approve you with your trade but we can get you a second loan. what is the purpose of second loan if my wife doesnt drive and we live on one income????? Stay away from the service department!!! The mechanic is friendly but not detailed oriented, I would not want to service my Vw there! Now have to go back r/t same problem intermittent rattling noise from the engine!!!!

Upon realizing there was a recall for my car, I contacted Central Auto Group and was told to bring the car in to be serviced. While there, I opted into having an additional problem diagnosed and was quoted the same day for well over $1000 to complete the job. From the parts list that I received, 25% of the parts listed weren't even compatible with my car, let alone causing the problem.Additionally, the parts I was quoted for were priced at a 300% markup compared to identical parts from another Hyundai dealership. The allotted labor charged was 8 hours for a job that ProDemand recommends 2.5 hours for (which is what it actually took for me to complete it myself). In total, I paid half of what they wanted to charge me for parts alone. I don't plan to ever return again, even for recall work. I'd rather drive an additional 30 miles to a reputable dealership who deserves and appreciates their customers' business.

Great environment and fun salespeople. I have purchased 2 vehicles from Central for both my younger son and husband and would not go anywhere else. We purchased a used Ford as well as a brand new Volkswagen and the process was the same both times. FAST AND EASY. I do not understand the mixed reviews because I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. My Daughter turns 17 next year and I am looking forward to purchasing her first car from Central Auto Group.

the internet department leaves quite a bit to be desired as for accuracy and accountability. my wife, child, and i came down very excited based on a phone conversation with the internet department. when the time to buy came along, we were very frustrated with the difference in our expectations from the internet department and the price on paper. that being said, Jonathan Pitt-Coombs is one of the nicest salesman you'll probably ever meet. having been a salesman, i appreciated having him work with us. Fillipo Marchionne was very understanding of the situation we were in and helped us out greatly in getting a solid rate and an incredible deal. these two gentlemen are 5 stars but the internet department is so low i couldn't in good conscience rate the customer service and quality of work 5 stars. i would recommend this dealership and Hyundai (there was no button to check but that's what we bought), just skip the internet guy and go straight to Jonathan.

For 4 and a half months, this dealership has made my family's lives hell. I had a Hyundai on lease and the manager (who is now fired) told me that the lease would be all set and I could get the Mazda CX-5 that I wanted. They told me that my new car would be ready in a couple days. So I go to get my new car and they tell me that I need to put more money down if I want the car that they brought in. Strike 1. My boyfriend also bought a Mazda from there and never received his lease papers for 2 months. Strike 2. I was asking for paperwork saying that my Hyundai was all set and they kept telling me that they mailed it. To this day I still haven't received it. Strike 3. They said they would email it, still haven't received it. Strike 4. I then get a $3300 bill from Hyundai for mileage overage that I am expected to pay. They told me it was all set so this bill was a shock (if they told me that I would have to pay another bill after giving up the accent then ok, I wouldn't have bought the Mazda. But at least be honest with me). So I drive there and give them the bill which they are shocked about and tell me they'll look into it. I call them so often, its ridiculous. Bill's due date comes around and they tell me to call and get an extension (the owner of the dealership and the GM are now involved) which I did and then I call them again until the due date for a resolution and nothing. I get told I'll get a call back and get blown off. I have taken multiple days off of work, left early, and wasted so much gas and money driving to the dealership only to be pushed aside like I don't matter. Strike 100 by now. Which brings us to the week the bill is due. The owner says he will work his magic and see what he can figure out and he'll take care of it by the latest Thursday (bill is due Friday). Thursday comes and goes and I don't hear anything. I call and the GM took the day off and the owner isn't there. Awesome, right? NO. So I am still waiting for a resolution to the situation and I am at the dealer and met yet again by rude managers that have been disrespectful and insulting to myself and my boyfriend (2 customers that bought 2 cars here mind you). The level of care that a business should have for its customers isn't here like it should and the level of pure disrespect is disgusting. I wish I never step foot into this horrific place. Everyone else needs to do themselves and don't come here either. Unless you like to be insulted, disrespected and blown off.

My husband and I have purchased two vehicles from this dealership. I also purchased the maintenance agreement for my car, and was told I would receive a loaner car every time I came in for scheduled maintenance. NOT so. They apparently have one loaner car that is always on loan to someone else. I would not have paid thousands of dollars extra for a maintenance agreement had I known about this! When I used my "vacuum" coupon, they did not vacuum the entire car, only the tops of the mats and floors--the back cargo area was left dirty. For purchasing, they continuously "have to check with the manager" and leave you sitting until you walk out on them before giving you their best deal. It is too stressful to purchase a car there, and we are seriously considering switching to a dealership that does not play games with its customers. At any rate, we will never purchase a maintenance agreement again, it is not worth it. While the service department is friendly enough, they just do not finish the job. I also have a door handle that has been broken since I purchased the car. They do not believe me, and are refusing to fix it because they never documented it. I have mentioned it every time I brought the car in, but no one wrote it down, so they are refusing to fix it. Also, the gas tank cover has never been properly repaired and while it works when I leave the dealership it does not work the very first time I enter a gas station! I think I am finished with this dealership. They are not outstanding. Just mediocre.

I bought my Mazda 3 from Central Auto group just over a year ago. The buying process was horrible, but that's a different story. I got an oil change today at Mazda of Manchester and my car has been hesitating to start. So they said I needed a new battery which is under warranty if it's the original battery. Mazda of Manchester said it was not the original battery but we were confused because I bought the car brand new and I've never replaced it. So Mazda of Manchester called central auto group to see if they replaced it, and yes they did. They replaced it before I bought it. So it's a dealership battery, which is also under warranty. Mazda of Manchester just needed the paperwork of the battery central put in so they could process it though my warranty. Central auto group said they wouldn't fax it over because Mazda of Manchester "was arguing with them" on the phone. What a nightmare.

This is my second Sonata and I love the car. When I went to buy my first Sonata I went to a different dealership. They did not really listen to what I wanted. I wanted white or black limited. They brought in a blue one from another dealership. Even though when they asked me to come look at it, I told them no. They kept calling over and over again asking when I was picking up my car. I heard about Central from a friend. So I went to see them. They listened to what I wanted, they understood that I would not be ready for at least 30 days before I could purchase it. They did not hound me, they called me 30 days later, showed me my options in a white or black car. They answered all my questions and they went over every option in the car with me. The service I received on my car over the years was wonderful. So I wanted a new Sonata and I went back to see Joe. The experience with Joe, stress free and he listen to what I wanted. I could not ask for a better sales representative or a better dealership. I have sent may friends to Central and they all love the experience. Thanks Joe and Central!!!

This is your stereotypical used car dealership. I could write a long review on how bad it is but I will keep this short. They will do anything to get you in the door or to buy a car. They listed cars as new that we're in fact used cars, quoted one price and then changed the price on it, etc. if you are looking for a new car I would recommend shopping anywhere else.

Buyer beware! The dealership could care less after you sign the purchase agreement.Additionally, nearly every person I came into contact with was no longer employed after a short while (a year). Employee turnover says a lot about a business!At one point my automobile was in their service department for 5 weeks - I never got one phone call! When I mentioned this, I was asked why I didn't call? That's not great customer service. I could call everyday... No one wants that!I purchased a lemon. The GM told me to hire an attorney and call 800 customer care number. I didn't need my hand held, but again customer service lacked! That was the best he could do for me. The manufacture made good on the deal; however the replacement vehicle and paperwork sat at the dealership for days... While I begged for an appointment. They made it clear that it wasn't a priority and were annoyed that the manufacture was making them assist in the transaction! Meanwhile my car was in their service department for 3 months!! When asking for an appointment and expressing my concerns in the length of time everything took there along with a little ranting, I was told 'we realize we lost a customer' REALLY?? there was an opportunity for redemption... But again customer service seems to lack!When I finally got an appointment to pick up the replacement vehicle the individual assisting in the paperwork process wasn't familiar with the paperwork. I waited patiently while I was told 'sorry, it's the first time I'm seeing this' apparently their other location is short staffed also.After I signed all the highlighted areas of the paperwork I was sent on my way. I had to ask about registration AND the keys for the new car! The person who handles registration was out... Working at the other location. A salesman came, gave me the keys, asked if I had any questions, took care of a request and I was on my way.I sat in the car and phoned my insurance before driving Away... I didn't mind sitting in my car, because the office I did all the paperwork had a very strong cigarette odor. If I'm not mistaken, before you drive off the lot with a new vehicle, insurance should be in place.. The pros of the whole situation - I was provided a loaner Hyundai during the 3 months. Actually a couple of cars, because I was told I drive a lot of miles - all the more reason to get me in that new replacement vehicle ASAP!! So if you don't buy a lemon and don't EVER need to return for anything, this is the place for you... However if you're looking for top notch customer service with dedicated employees, look again!

Having owned 21 Ford cars and trucks, and purchasing three vehicles (to the tune of $125,000+) in an 18-month period, I will NEVER buy or have Central Ford service ANY of my vehicles. They registered a brand new truck that I purchased incorrectly, to a company that does not exist, and we have been trying unsuccessfully for 6 weeks to have them correct the registration. It continues to fall on deaf ears and I continue to receive false promises about getting this corrected. The general manager has personally told me that he is taking care of it, yet we're going into our seventh week without a resolution. When I was looking to purchase this truck, I would receive two or three phone calls every day; after the sale and now that there is a problem, I receive nothing but empty promises. I had a 2013 Sante Fe I had been leasing for a year. I had 2 years left on my lease but need to lower my payments from what I was paying. I did not have a down payment so they had a real task at hand to help me out. We looked at a couple of different vehicles and I decided on a 2014 Accent it lowered my payments and saved me on gas as well. Rick and Fillipo really went out of their way to make sure my needs were met and not to just sell me a car. I have since sent my son in and he was able to refinance his car with an extended warranty keeping his payments the same. Great experience very friendly staff. I will tellryone to make the trip its worth the time.

This was my first time buying a car. Jimmy and Laura were so amazing! I bought a new 2014 Ford Focus and I did not feel like they were being vultures to try to jack the price up on me. We have purchased not one, but 5 Hyundai's from Central Hyundai! Each time they are most accommodating, and willing to work with us and our budget! We continue to refer others there and we currently have 4 Hyundai's in our driveway! Two of our children now have purchased new vehicles of their own. We cannot say enough about how easy and satisfying our experiences have been there. The service department is also friendly and helpful when we go for our oil changes. There is not one person there, who we have met and dealt with, who has not made us comfortable with the car buying experience. We all know that it can be quite stressful. We always leave happy and plan to continue to return whenever we are ready for a new vehicle. We highly recommend them to everyone!

Original contact was made online. Jimmy called me a few minutes later and we did some dealing before I was turned over to Joe. Joe was very pleasant and knowledgeable and was willing to put quotes in writing. I was working with another dealership---the one I bought my last car from, but they could not beat Central's last quote. I got a great deal without leaving the house. When I went to Central for the test drive, I was given the royal treatment. All questions were answered straight forward and at no time did I feel they were trying to pull switches with me or add unnecessary costs. Joe was very accommodating and fun to work with. He made the buying process very easy---even call my insurance company to switch cars and arranged for the rental agency to pick up the car there instead of where I rented it. Central is the place to buy a car, if you want to be treated with respect and honesty. I would not hesitate to recommend them to family or friends.

Long story short, despite some initial disappointment in the value they gave my trade-in, I still purchased a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. My salesman was Joe, and I can honestly say he truly has a special gift for sales. My decision to purchase did not come easy, but Joe was very patient and did not push or pressure me towards a decision. He was very courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. I went to Central Hyundai because I was referred by a family member, boy am I glad I did. I went to another dealership in RI and was not impressed. The staff at Central was extremely helpful and very nice. Leasing my new Sonata Turbo was a breeze. I have bought my car back for oil changes and the service was excellent. Vehicle brought in for service on December 23rd due to an Engine light and bad fuel economy. Waited 1.5 hours and was told there was a Technical Service Bulletin for the problem and the ECU needed to be replaced. They said they would order it and to bring the car back in on Thursday the 26th early am. I arrived on the 26th, they said it may take 1.5 hours to replace and reprogram. I waited 2 hours and noticed my car outside the door. Went up to the desk to ask if the work was completed. That is when they told me that the part never arrived!They then told me to wait while they gave me a loaner car. I called them on the 28th and they said they still do not have the part! To top it off we did not even get a comparable car to the one we brought in!2013 VW Sportwagen TDI Fully Loaded with just over 10,000 miles on it, and our loaner is a 2014 Hyundai Elantra GT Hatchback.

I have been buying vehicles from Central for a long time and each time has been a good experience. Terry was awesome. He worked with me for a few days to find the truck and car I was looking for and to make the trades and final costs work. Traded in three and left with two new, that was goal and Central pulled it off. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 on buying process is there were several cars online that I was interested in and all were gone.

Horrible experience we had on this place. Scammers!!!! We discuss about the car we want buy very clearly. We agreed the purchase price, which we knew it's a little bit higher than the kelly blue book fair purchase price. We signed the contract and everything is all set and ready to drive the car only to find out it's a different car which is a lot cheaper than the price we signed in the contract...bait and switch that's exactly the word. We waste our whole day with these SCAMMERS!!!!!

We visited 6-8 dealerships in our new car search looking for an affordable hatchback with good MPG ratings. We went to Central Hyundai to look and test drive a new 2013 Hyundai Accent (the previous day we test drove both the 2014 Nissan Versa Sedan and Note as well as the 2013 Kia Soul and the 2013 Kia Rio; we also considered the Chevy Spark, but didn't get a chance to drive one). The dealership experiences varied greatly, but Central Hyundai came on the very top as one of the two dealerships which provided an amazing experience. The whole process was relaxed and, at moments, actually fun (something I did not expect, especially after some lousy and downright awful experiences at a couple of dealerships the previous day). Both Sodiq and Sherman gave out the impression of being great guys and we didn't feel pressured or cheated at any point of the process. I think the impression they made is best spoken of by the fact that we did not think we'd end up buying the car when we went to Central Hyundai--especially after we had made an offer for a Nisan Versa the previous day which fell through since the dealer there would not budge on the price on the basest trim of the Versa and the Kia dealership we visited gave us the old bait & switch giving us an email quote for a Rio LX and tried to sell us an EX for some five grand more (claiming not to have the LX they quoted us the day before). However, after talks with both Sodiq and Sherman, that went smoothly and in good spirits, they came down to a price we felt comfortable with and did not try to upsell us on a car/"features" we didn't want. As a result, we now have a great car we're very happy with.

Compared to how we've been treated at other dealerships, this experience was stellar. All sales people and staff in general were not only courteous, but friendly. They made the process of buying a car as painless as possible, and really worked in our favor to get us the best rates possible - with no added "pop up" costs at delivery, which was experienced during other car buying experiences with other dealers. Despite not being local, I would absolutely return to this dealership and would definitely refer other people to them (and already have, after only three days).

I was originally looking for a slightly used Elantra for my wife - maybe an '11 or '12; but I found a brand new '13 from Central on Cars.com for less than the used ones I was looking at. I called them to make sure that the price listed was not skewed by hidden incentives or anything, and the Internet sales person explained the discounts that brought the price to what I saw. It seemed legit. Later I spoke to the actual salesman that I was going to be working with (Joe) to confirm that I knew every fee that would come with the sale. I wanted to make sure that I could afford this car since I was making a nearly 3 hour round trip plus time at the dealership on my wife's birthday. I was told that the car that I saw online sold, but they had an identical one for the same price. I decided to make the trip. Within one minute of sitting down with Joe, I was told that there was a Hyundai loyalty discount built in to the price that I didn't qualify for (Internet sales person's fault). Later I found that the car I came to see was not identical to the one I saw online (Joe's fault). It had the preferred package and other upgrades which made the price higher. I wasn't willing to budge on the price they said on the phone that I would pay. After trying for a while, they decided that they couldn't make it work. As I was about to leave a very frustrated man, I was asked to come inside and talk to the sales manager. He listened attentively to all of my story. He couldn't put me in the car they showed me, but he said he was willing to give me a loaner with only 3K miles and the same upgrades. It wasn't technically brand new, but it was a better deal than what I had been seeing. Since it also hadn't really been owned before, I would get the full warranty. We then continued to negotiate the price, as he still wanted more $ from me. I ended up agreeing to give them a little over $200 more than I planned simply because I knew my wife would love some of the upgrades that we weren't planning on, and it was her b-day. When I brought my wife back for a test drive, she loved the car. When we signed the papers in the financial office, I discovered that the end price came out more than $200 less than I had agreed to! So in the end, we got a better car than what I came to see for the same price as I planned to pay - with 3K extra miles on it - but that's nothing really. Joe was super polite through the whole process despite the mistakes. While there were some issues (on purpose or by carelessness?), they did work hard to make it work. And we left with a wonderful car at a great deal. I was working with a Hyundai dealer closer to home, and they could not do the same deal I got from Central.

After going back and forth in e-mail regarding a big sale they were having, I decided to stop down. Salesperson was good, but tried steering me toward service loaner cars, after thinking about it, it was due to the fact they knew they could not honor the price they quoted over the internet. Could not find the first car I wanted to look at or the second. If you read other reviews, you'll see this has happened before. But the real fun came after they appraised my car, wanted to give me nothing for it. Kept my keys hostage so I could not escape. The orginal deal was like 4000 higher than e-mail deal. Dealer doc fees are the highest I've ever seen. Tried to get a copy of the breakdown, but they would not give it to me. Sales Manger was combative and it took 4 times, each time a little more angrier to ask for my keys back. At the last minute they added another 2000 to my trade value, but damage was already done. Would not recommend to anyone.

Most unpleasant internet negotiation experience I have had in my entire car search throughout Connecticut. When queried for a quote Kerri responded in a rude and curt manner, and never provided requested information. They rely on classic bait and switch scams to try and get you to come in. After days of discussion, Kerri refused to reveal her dealership's costs. Normal fees that you can get from any reputable dealer were hidden. She focused on trying to get the price I was offered by other dealers and claimed that her offer would be lower than any offer. Even after providing her with that information she was unable to provide me with an actual out the door cost or itemized list of dealer fees. Even after thanking her for her time and letting her know I would no longer be communicating with her dealership, Kerri responded rudely. Implying that I was crazy for not wanting to work out a deal with her, all the while repeatedly ignoring the content of my emails and questioning my intelligence as a consumer. I highly recommend you stay away from this dealership.

We went to Central on a Sunday afternoon and were greeted promptly by a pleasant salesman. We asked specifically about several cars that we had seen in their online ads. From the beginning things did not go smoothly. The salesman had trouble locating each of the cars on the lot then left us waiting in the showroom for 15 minutes while he tried to find a key to move a car that was blocking the one we asked to see. When we asked for a price on the car we were interested in (but had still been unable to test drive due to the missing key), we were given a price. I came back the next day after work to test drive the car and take it to my mechanic for an appraisal. When we returned with the car we were informed that the price we were given the day before was incorrect because the car was new on the lot and hadn't been serviced yet. We were told that the price would be $500 higher than the original price we were quoted. Needless to say, we walked out and won't be going back. We will also be sure to let all of our friends and relatives know about the shabby, unprofessional treatment at this dealership.

Classic bait and switch scammers. After we agreed on an out the door price via their internet sales department, they decided to change the deal. They said I would need to use their financing, even though we agreed to a cash sale. They also tried to add a $199 VIN etching fee. Avoid this dealership at all costs.

Ed Joiner was great to talk to as a sales consultant. Justin Bilier was the worst sales manager I have spoken with. Rude, smug, would not answer my questions. He single hand-idly lost my business in a matter of 10 minutes. When someone gives you numbers for a estimated monthly car payment but can not explain where those numbers are being pulled from I had a problem. He refused to explain how in the world he was coming up with such a high price. He was rude when I asked if he could show me how he came to the number he was giving me. He kept shuffling around the question. 10 minutes later I was gone. I will not return.

Well joe was amazing and when I started everything went well. Me joe and a young manager Brandon all sat down. Both Joe and Brandon answered all of my questions about the elantra. I had to go home to talk it over. Brandon called me the next day at noon time like he said he was going to do. I told him that I was just about ready to pull the trigger. I just didn't like the 499 doc fee. He said he was going to see what he could do and get back to me. I told him to please call me back tomm because I had a busy day. The next day came but the call didn't. I called the dealership and they said he was no longer with them. They passed me over to some guy that sounded like he was on a power trip. His name was fillippo. You could tell just in his voice he was a scumy car guy. He took down my name and said he would get right back to me. Well it's been 4 days and still no call. I went and bought a new elantra from MJ'S and love it. This dealership is always changing staff and just doesn't sit well with me. At first I realy liked it they had a very young manager there witch I loved and was very honest and joe my sales guy new every thing there was to know about the car but it just gos to show u how one person can mess up a good thing and ruin a deal. My mother is in the market for a new Hyundai and I won't be taking her there.

Everyone was very friendly and they genuinely want your business. I would definitely recommend them. I actually went there based on a recommendation from a friend and I was very glad that I did. Other dealerships should go to observe how they do business.

We did not get a chance to thank Tim Longton personally or tell him how much Robert and I appreciate him for EVERYTHING he did for us. On Memorial Day weekend, while at the lake visiting friends, our Hyundai Veracruz would not start and left us stranded in the middle of no where. We used Hyundai's great road side assistance and had the car towed to the Central Hyundai of Plainfield, CT. After Tim Longton diagnosed the car, he found that the entire electrical module was completely burnt out. The entire car and all of its electrical through out was completely out of commission leaving us with a huge problem and no vehicle. We expressed to Tim how our car's electrical had been faulty since we purchased the car in May of 2011 and had to bring it back for electrical repairs a few times from September 2011 on through 2012. Together we looked up the Car Fax to learn that the previous owner too had electrical problems in January 2011, which seemed to explain why the module was completely burnt out.Tim Longton took our situation seriously and professionally. He reassured us that he would repair our car to our standards and satisfaction. His integrity goes above and beyond measure and we would like to see him receive high merits for his hard earned efforts. He not only took responsibility to stand behind his word and fix our car but his expert ability to keep the customer satisfied was top notch. I bought a new car in December of 2011 at Central auto Group in plainfield Ct and I have to say that I was so impressed buy the overall service that I recieved. Not only did I get a great car but the staff at Central auto group are very knowlegable, courteous professional and most important go the extra mile to assure that I was satified. Their not only caring but they are not out to squeeze every penny you have in this tough economy. They have your back and want the best for the consumer. The General manager is a manager that I have never came across he really is genuinely concerned about the consumer. If you have any issues you can feel very confortable going to him because he wants the consumer happy. I had to go back due to a scratch that I incurred on my car and they never even questioned a thing, they handled my concern and again I walked out of there happy and very satisfied. If you are seriuos about buying a car I would highly reccomend you go to Central Auot group in Plainfield CT, don't waste your time going anywhere else, they will help you, educate you and most important take care. These guys really do their best to go above and beyond. I went there looking for a used car and they ended up getting me into a brand new car for cheaper than I ever could have imagined. There were a lot of difficulties ranging from needing a co signer to insurance issues, and they took the time to help me through it all. I had set up an appointment in advance to see a 34,000 mile 2001 Pontiac Trans Am VIN # 2G2FV22G012137414. Just prior to the test drive the sales manager handed me a CarFax which identified 5 significant repairs that this car had had under warranty back in 2002-2004 (engine rod bearing replacements (15,155 mi), powertrain computer replaced, catalytic converter replaced (5547 mi), front brakes resurfaced (6500 mi). During the test drive the car shook heavily at highway speeds and pulled hard right under heavy braking. It was at that point that my salesman George, who was along for the ride said he knew that would happen because the rear tires were shot. He didn't think the car should even be on the road. The car was priced well-enough though that if after the tires were replaced and another road test done the car might still be worth buying. The engine was smooth and there didn't appear to be any lasting damage from the earlier engine repairs. I put down a $500 deposit w/o lining out the words non-refundable on the form. And the next morning when I decided to back out of this deal, I couldn't get my refund money back for 3 months. I had some concerns about the rod bearing work and whether this car was beat on by the first owner rather than just an unlucky break. I was assured that the car was not beat on because they knew the owner personally and that I would never regret buying it. Good enough. I trusted my salesman at that point. The next morning, I called GMC customer service to find out more about just what was done during that rod bearing replacement and if there should be any concerns as this car racked up more miles down the road (it only has 34,000 mi). GMC customer service then read off all the warranty repairs this car had ever had. Imagine my surprise when there 5 more repairs that didn't show up on the CarFax. It was only later that I found out that CarFax only lists reported repairs. If they are not reported they don't show up. Those repairs were 6 speed gear shifter replacement, full brake replacement (5547 mi), full exhaust system replacement (5547 mi), front door window regulator replaced, and a 2nd catalytic converter replacement (17,792 mi). This car was starting to look like it was truly beat on during its first 2-3 yrs of life. GMC customer service had me call a local dealership to get more technical info on the rod bearing work. The service manager at that GM dealership looked up the car again and was amazed at the 10 warranty item repairs that it had. In a nutshell he said this car was potential trouble and to steer clear of it. He would never buy such a car. He said full brake replacement by 5500 miles on any US car built in 2001 was a huge red flag. And a second catalytic converter by 18,000 miles was almost unheard of.Having the above information I called the dealership Monday morning, less than 24 hrs since test driving the car. My salesman didn't want anything to with the complaint and immediately transferred me to the sales manager. I basically said I was very uncomfortable with this car and wanted out of the deal. He agreed to do that. I also said I wanted to get my deposit back. He said that shouldn't be a problem since no additional money had been spent on the car other than the tires and driver's window not working (2nd failure on that). Those problems they knew about before I got there and had already ordered the parts. The sales manager said he would run my situation against the general manager and call me back. His demeanor suggested to me that he was confident I would be satisfied. A full day passed and no phone call. I called back and left messages twice on the sales manager line. No call backs ever occurred, not even from my salesman who was such a buddy during the whole inspection process. They didn't even offer me alternatives, they just refused to respond. It was at that point that I checked into BBB. I felt my chances were better with my c/c company and BBB than bothering to drive back an hour to discuss it with them. For the right person (ie a mechanic) it was probably an ok car. But not for me. In any case my c/c company denied my claim on the deposit only because I signed for a non-rerundable deposit. It didn't matter to them that the car had undisclosed problems unknown at the time I had placed the deposit. I initiated a BBB complaint in January when all other options seemed to have failed. And within about a month of my BBB complaint (3 months since the initial deal) I received a call from dealership management looking to make things right for me. Seems that new management is cleaning house and trying to resolve all outstanding complaints. I received a refund check so the issue has been resolved. It's unfortunate it took 3 months to rectify this and a lot of anxiety on my part thinking I'd never see that money again. But the management of the dealership seems to have made efforts to ensure this type of behavior by their sales staff doesn't occur again.

Truly terrible experience, they are the stereo-typical evil car salesmen - no wonder car sales people are given a really bad name. No contracts were signed and when I backed out of the deal, they would not give back my deposit. Legally they do not have a leg to stand on. DO NOT USE. There are several Ford dealers in the area that are honest and less manipulative.

I had a great experience from the website to the finance office. The sales reps were very friendly, honest and helpful. They stayed late to help me complete the sale. There were no surprises when I got to the finance office. I got a great deal on a new car without any stress or discomfort at the dealership. The staff was not pushy or aggressive at all. Dealer absolutely refuses to refund deposit. They threatened to ruin our credit rating as well as sue us because we didn't purchase a car from them. They made several threatening phone calls to our home and we have one of them on tape to verify.Please avoid this dealer at all cost. They will take you for all youre worth.

We had three issues with this dealership. First, they scratched the window getting the price sticker off and we were told that the window would be replaced. Second, the bank informed us that the dealership had cancelled the loan they arranged for us and had accepted one at a higher interest rate. This occurred on the same day. We would have never found this out if the bank hadn't sent us a letter telling us the lower interest rate loan was cancelled. Third, they couldn't be bothered to attach the front lisence plate to the car. We found it in the back after we got home.When we contacted them over these three matters, we got the "Central Auto Group Shuffle". No matter who we needed to speak to, they were not available to take our call. Finally we reached the dealership president. He told us that he was going to a convention and he would have his VP call us. If we were not satisfied when he returned he would get "personally involved". He also told me that the "finance guy Eric B. was no longer employed there". Neither one of them ever bothered to call us. After a month of getting the run around, we finally sent an E-Mail saying that if we didn't get satisfation soon, we were going to contact Mazda USA and Mazda ,Japan. We then received a very rude and abusive E-Mail from the president. We decided to concentrate on getting the window replaced and the lisence plate put on. I called the service department to make the appointment and was told that they would check to see if the window was there and would call me back in "minutes". One week later they still had not called. I called them again and was told there was a note in my file about the window getting fixed but he had to talk to "Brian" first and would call me back. Of course I never heard from him. All this time the salesman Eric Gates, would not reply to my E-Mails to him. I finally drove to the dealership to make the appointment in person. Upon being informed that Brian had not responded to him, I asked chris the service guy to talk to Brian then and i would wait. He agreed and when he came back to me he told me that Brian would be right out. Brian never did come out, but the president did. When I told him I was all done talking and would he please tell the service dept. to replace my window and attach my lisence plate, he became enraged telling me that it was his dealership and he does whatever he wants to there. No one tells him what to do, not Mazda USA or Mazda Japan, no one. When I reminded him that the dealership had promised to fix the window he told me that it was too bad. He was not going to fix the window, and he did not want me in his building anymore. I was to leave and not come back. I left and haven't been back.I would suggest that no one do business with these people. As can be seen from my experience, after they get your money they don't want to know you. I will never never do business again with central Mazda or any other member of the Gates Auto Group. Run, don't walk as fast and as far away from these people as you can.
