The Checkered Flag team was wonderful to deal with. The Upfront Pricing policy removes a lot of stress from the car buying process. Chas Engle thoroughly explained the different options/packages available on the model I was interested in without trying to push me into more expensive configurations for the sake of dollars. He kept me informed throughout the process of searching for a particular colored vehicle. Very organized and patient with all my questions. I felt that Karen Couchenor's appraisal of my trade-in was fair and well-intentioned, far removed from insulting trade-in offers I have received in the past. I would recommend this dealer and sales team to anyone.

This past week we had the pleasure of purchasing our new used car at Checkered Flag Toyota. We came to checkered flag expecting to get haggled and well you know the usual car buying experience but this was not the case. Chas was very upfront and very knowledgeable about the cars and the process. In the blazing heat he showed us all the options we desired and didnt skip a beat. I showed up to the dealership nervous and unsure how difficult it was going to be to purchase a new vehicle. Within TWO minutes of meeting Chas Engle my stress was gonne. This past weekend, I had the pleasure of purchasing my new used car from Chas Engle and the awesome team at Checkered Flag Toyota. I was actually able to get everything done in just over 2 hours (I hadnt even been pre-approved online), which totally blew away my previous car buying experience. Like most, I was very apprehensive about the process and did not look forward to going in and dealing with the usual pushy and manipulative dealer tactics. I was pleasantly surprised to find absolutely none of that with Chas, especially when I learned that Checkered Flag Toyota was a haggle free zone, and the price on the vehicle was actually pretty competitive to other similar vehicles at other dealerships. He was very helpful in showing me not only the car I had researched, but also a few, similarly priced alternatives, one of which I seriously considered. If you are looking to buy a car, new or used, you cannot go wrong with the people at Checkered Flag Toyota. I came in Thursday evening and met Jaclyn Campbell, I explained to her my goal of test driving a corolla, getting a trade in value, and leaving with a idea of final pricing. I was so impressed with her, the car, and the overall dealership experience that I came back Friday and bought the car...to say that I came to buy a car AFTER teaching a full day of public school gives you an idea of how wonderful and stress free Jaclyn made this experience. She was patient with me as i wobbled between cars and when I finally picked the one I wanted, I was able to get a monthly payment below budget in a car that I never thought I could afford. I love my car and my experience at Checkered Flag! I look forward to recommending Jaclyn to friends, family, and coworkers. Give the woman a raise!! We're a Toyota loving family...and intended to stay that way based on the great products we've purchased in the past. So, although we looked at a Ford Explorer first, we knew we'd end up at a Toyota dealership...which we did. Now, I will preface this by admitting that the last Toyota we purchased involved dealing with a salesman that was far too pushy and was actually caught lying to us to the point where the dealership was forced to refund some money to us. Needless to say, we were NOT going back to that dealership. Upon arriving at Checkered Flag Toyota, Chas Engle met us in the lot as we were looking over the inventory and he was quick to answer our questions and took us directly to the product we were interested in. We found one vehicle that met our needs but wasn't the interior color we wanted. Chas Engle took care of that problem; he had the office folks track down exactly what we wanted at another dealership and it was on the Checkered Flag Toyota lot in 2 days. The closing on the sale was effortless and quick and off we went, back to North Carolina with our new ride. We'll be back at Checkered Flag Toyota in the future when the time comes to upgrade another Toyota that is sitting in the driveway now.

Before checking out Checkered Flag Toyota, I had visited another Toyota dealership. His competitor wore me out...I was there several hours just to look at their inventory and to test drive a Sequoia. We were trying to hammer out a deal, but I was getting nowhere. I've purchased 2 automobiles there in the past, why the dilemma now? I left disappointed. After that experience, I knew exactly what I wanted. On my next day off and after I dropped off my son at school, I figured I'd drop by to see Checkered Flag's inventory. I had a limited window just to see what they had and I was going to pick up my son in a couple hours. I was greeted by Chas Engle immediately after stepping through the door. He welcomed me and asked how he could help me. I'm sure he could see on my face that I wasn't trying to get my hopes up. He seemed confident and engaged. "I'm looking for a Sequoia SR5", I asked. I knew that the Limited and Platinum trims were just to upscale for me. He was honest with me. The only Sequoia there was a Platinum trim (I didn't want to go through that again). Truthfully he told me that they didn't have any SR5's, but he asked me if he could talk with his GM to see if they could track one down. Sure, why not. He came back in a few minutes with a info sheet. I looked at it. Searched through the list and liked what I saw. I tried to keep calm and see what his next move was. Surprisingly, he explained to me that his dealership doesn't haggle...his job is to get the auto you want, he is motivated to make the numbers, he told me honestly. He said he could get this particular Sequoia at the dealership in 5-7 days. He would hold it for me until I could see it for myself for a deposit and refunded immediately if I changed my mind. It was good for me because I was working for the next couple of days. Later that night, I have been on the internet reviewing comments about the Sequoia. I was getting pumped up. I couldn't wait to see it. Boom! The Sequoia arrived in 3 days. The rest of the experience was relatively effort free. I already new how I was going to pay for this SUV. I had already got a car loan but Chas found me a better interest rate. I was very satisfied. I am convinced, I got the best deal I could find, and pleased with my experience with Chas and Checkered Flag Toyota.

To make a long story short. We had been looking at cars within a budget to meet a monthly payment and term for over a week. Dealing with sleazy sales men and shady sale tactics. Finally we went back to checkered flag. The first time we went we didn't talk to anyone. We saw the car was priced outside our budget. But it was EXACTLY what we wanted. We asked if they could negotiate and they said no. So we left. After a week of dealing with headaches I figured maybe they could get us a better interest rate. We are a 800+ credit couple and thought navy federal was the best show in town. Checkered flag got us approved at 2.7 % that was waaaay lower then nfcu. We went there at 840pm... They closed at 9pm. The whole team stayed back and got the deal done. And Brandon Hewitt was a tremendous help. He made us comfortable and didn't feel pressured to buy.

I was shown the different cars that I asked about, we selected one, filled out paperwork, and the whole time was enjoyable! Charles Engle was my sales person and easily explained and answered all of my questions. We then went to see the Finance person, Mike Wood, who told me about all the warranties and thoroughly explained what they covered and how they worked. The two of them were extremely professional and a credit to the dealership. I will be back for my next vehicle!

This is the first Toyota we have brought! 4 Runner Trail and we love it. Chas Engle was great, and if he didn't know a answer (since he was new to the Toyota company) he was able to get it! Chas was very friendly and it was nice to work with him. We saw vehicle when sun was setting and it wasn't even set to test drive yet, so we test drove another and next day I realized that inside was black and not dark grey, we went back to see if we can exchange for another. They looked in a 200 mile radius but found that we would have to get leather (which we did not want). So over all, we still have same one we started off with, with black interior but have come to like it anyways. They were all very helpful and friendly! I've been buying cars for 25+ years and I will certainly say that I had a pleasant experience at Checkered Flag. This was the second vehicle we have purchased from them and they were fantastic in both cases! They have a very unique process in which they lay out their bottom dollar price from the start and their employees are not driven by commission because they do not get paid based on commission. I will admit that I can be a handful to deal with because I try to negotiate everything, especially price! However, Checkered Flag had he best price on the new vehicle I purchased out of three states and six months of research. Their pricing and approach to the vehicle buying market are impressive and made the process a lot easier. I was in and out within two hours and they have a great team of professionals who were customer-oriented! Great job by the entire Team, but most notably Shannon Thomas. He was upfront and worked to ensure my needs were taken care of. Lastly, I'm impressed with the way the GM responds to each individual review on this website and each response is unique and not cookie-cutter, that tells me they truly care about their reputation. I would only recommend you include cars.com on your handout for customer feedback as this is the website I used from Guam to purchase my vehicle. Great ob by the entire Team!! Best car buying experience I ever had in my life, honestly! I've purchased many new cars in my lifetime in few different states and none of them compare to Checkered Flag Toyota in Virginia Beach. Glenn Woodruff was awesome to work with! He's very professional, reasonable, down to earth, patient and full of knowledge and experience. He was so easy and fun to work with from the moment I picked up the phone to call CF Toyota and spoke with him on the phone. I couldn't make it to our initial meeting and he totally understood and went over their hours for other days for me to come in. Without an appointment, my family and I showed up on a Sunday afternoon and so glad he was there! He made my car buying experience very easy, smooth and stress-free. What's great about CF Toyota is that you never experience pushy sales associates trying to earn their commission. Instead they give you the lowest price/best deal and high trade in value. They do everything in front of you so you know exactly how much everything cost. They truly care about their customers and treat you like humans. I wish all car dealerships are just like CF Toyota!

After 8 years of owning my very first vehicle, it had undergone a lot of maintenance to keep it running. Two weeks ago, I was on my way back from campus and my car decided to quit on me. I had to get it towed out of my own expense and after my car was servicedthe total came out to a little over $1,300. I had enough of this vehicle and decided to sell for it as is. My car buying experienced with the first lot I went to (shall be unnamed) didn't fall through the way I expected. I went in looking for possible options for a vehicle yet the buyer I was working with seemed to be a bit over enthusiastic about selling me a car and didn't take the time to listen to my needs. Toward the middle of our talk, I was a deal away from buying the vehicle but due to software issues happening and technical delaysthey're promise to get me in and out, soon became less notable. On that note, I left the deal at the table and walked away. A good friend of mine suggested me to look into Toyota Checkered Flag. Of over the past 15 years, 3 cars in my family have been financed through Checkered Flag and with that thought in mind, I decided to have a look. By far, the best car making-decision-process I have made yet. Paul took me under his supervision and guided me through the whole process with assertiveness but with little pressure. He was extremely patient, willing to work with my needs, and by sure opportunityhe hooked up me with exactly what I needed. After a few bumps in the process, he kept his professionalism and enthusiasm as a dealer to insure that I was comfortable with any option offered to me. He went beyond his capabilities to find the car I wanted without hesitation. This experience turned a stressful week into a fantastic buying experience that I imagine most dealerships would model from. It's not too often that I leave a transaction feeling positive about a large purchase but Paul ensured his service as a knowable associate. Good grief, give the man a raise and some vacation time! Overall, Toyota Checkered Flag treated me extremely well and I hope my experience will encourage others to check them out. Thank You.

First, I've been dealing with Checkered Flag for over 25 years and it's never been horrible or I would not have gone back! That said, the NEW Checkered Flag is fantastic! My representative (not salesman) was Marc Baker. What a delightful person! He led me through the process of turning in my expiring lease car and purchasing a new one by thoroughly and clearly explaining my options and the associated money values. My goodness how I had been dreading that! And, turns out, it was nothing! A piece of cake! No more high pressure, no more running around by the salesman and sales manager tag-teaming and ganging up on the poor customer. Also, I had a very nice paperwork experience with Business Manager, Chris Casarez, too. There was no unpleasant pushiness from anyone and everything was handled professionally and quickly. Thank heavens that other way of doing business no longer exists at Checkered Flag Toyota...they do have me for life now. And, you can bet I'll be putting my trust in Marc Baker whenever I need a vehicle - or know anyone else who does! He's 100% gold, Folks! Go see him!

My wife and I recently bought a green Toyota Highlander from Checkered Flag. We called ahead of time to let the salesman know when we would be by. Mr. Rosser was waiting for us when we arrived. He was extremely professional, corteous, friendly, and knowledgable. He remembered the vehicle we were interested in and pulled it up for a test drive. Once we returned we were able to ask him some questions which he knew the answers to and even demonstrated some things to us. Once we were satisfied, we began the dreaded negotiations. To our surprise, Checkered Flag no longer haggles prices (we were happy to hear this) so we knew the bottom dollar amount. We signed the paperwork and made payment and drove off the lot in our new vehicle that evening. Thanks again Mr. Rosser!

I went to this dealership because I know a few people with Toyotas and they love their cars. My expectation was just to look at a few of the used cars on the lot and compare the prices with other dealerships. When I got there I was blown away by their service. Im in my early 20s so I wanted something affordable, stylish, and with a great resale value. Morgan was able to help me find that. Oh and I was able to get the car new not used, extra bonus. She explained to me the new service philosophy for Checkered Flag, up front low prices with no negotiation. Which made for a less stressful experience. I made sure the price was an excellent deal, and it definitely was a deal I couldn't afford to pass up. I look forward to seeing how my relationship with Checkered Flag develops.

Have been buying cars since the late 50's, and this was the best experience we have ever had with a salesman and dealership. The team leader and business manager were also amazing. While every dealership will tell you they have the best prices, from my recent experience that's not the case. With today's technology and the availability of any information just at the tip of your fingers, the ones offering the best deal can be had in a matter of minutes . Well maybe longer depending on how fast internet sales respond to your inquiries. Regardless, most car buyers, if not all, care more about the bottom line FIRST. Then the actual buying process next. All the other extras, free this, free that, free popcorn, free flu shot, free manicure, priorities for life, blah blah blah, too many restrictions and red tape and therefore don't really care about. Checkered Flag scored all the way to the top on both. Without any haggling, internet sales ( Ryan Montville ) gave me the best price on a 2014 Camry XLE on the first and ONLY QUOTE. No one else came close. I ventured for a new car pricing with no dealership preference, even though I purchased a brand new 2006 Corolla from them for the SAME REASONS. Then, AS I REQUESTED, I spent no more than 20 minutes finalizing the deal and paperwork with salesman Mr Alex Suarez. He is as professional and as good as it gets. It would have been less time but it took me 5 minutes to figure out how to operate the free coffee machine dispenser thingy haha. I highly recommend this establishment, and more importantly both gentlemen that I mentioned. GO AHEAD MAKE YOUR DAY AND EMAIL THEM
