My husband and I had been looking for a new-to-us car in RI where we live for a few weeks. We decided to take a drive in CT to see if there were better options. We were actually on the way to another dealership when we came upon Girard Ford. We decided to stop and price the Explorers, one of our likes on our list. Herman immediately greeted us and was easy to talk with. While the Explorer was not in our price range, Eddie offered for us to look at a recent trader-in he was driving. Long story short, we ended up buying the 2012 Acadia from them a few days later. They were not a high pressure dealership and worked with us to give us a great deal. Herman even got the weird smell out of the car! We thoroughly enjoyed working with Herman and Eddie and would highly recommend them for your next car purchase! **Added 9/21/21-We haven't even owned the vehicle 2 years, are still paying on it and as of today we are told it is no longer driveable due to timing chain in the engine, transmission issues and are told by 2 different mechanics it is not worth the money required to fix it. I have messaged Girard. Very disappointed**

We Bought 2 cars at once, what could have been a horrible experience was made easy thanks to our salesperson, Frank Ciciriello. He made it simple and made it work for us. He was helpful at all points of sale. He was by far the best salesman we have worked with at any car dealership. The service department is what brought us to Girard Ford but Frank will keep us as customers.

I had a very positive experience at Girard Ford regarding a very hard to come by vehicle. Recently I called Girard Ford about the possibility of purchasing a Ford Focus RS. I spoke directly with Marty, the General Manager. Marty and I agreed upon a very fair price for this vehicle over the phone. The vehicle was not yet at the dealership, but Girard promised me that when it was in, it was mine. I drove to the dealership the following day to leave a down payment and sign some papers. When the vehicle arrived two days later they stored it in the showroom until I was able to get to the dealership. The delivery date when as expected and all prices an terms that we agreed to over the phone were honored. My salesperson, Richard, was very professional and walked me through the vehicle options as I had hoped. Because the vehicle is considered a 'specialty' vehicle, like other SVT models, it did not qualify for any Ford Motor Credit special financing offers. The finance department secured me a competitive loan and we completed the paperwork quickly.All in all a great experience at Girard Ford. I'll certainly do business with them again when I need a new vehicle.

Bought a car from here 4 months ago. About a month and a half after I bought my car from them I get a notice from dmv saying emissions is due. Like really I pay almost 20 grand after financing for a car and you people cant even bring it through emissions what kind of bs is that. Never have I ever seen a dealer do this before at all. Then when they give me my car its not even cleaned on the inside theres still stuff in it from the prevous owner which shows they didn't detail the car before they gave it to me. That's messed up also any other dealer I bought a car from details the inside of the car before they sell it to the client. Never will I go to this dealer again and I would not recommend this dealer to anybody at all.

I recently went with my husband and daughter to purchase a car. The car sales man was very charismatic and very likable. He asked what we were looking for and what was important to me. Although he said all the "" right things, in the end I know he really wasn't listening to anything I said or really cared what I wanted. He he had the car in mind that he wanted to sell for me and never really gave me an opportunity to look at anything else. He was full of cute stories and it was impressive that he was so knowledgeable about the cars. But underneath he was all about making the deal at any cost. And when the Numbers were questioned and the deal was in jeopardy the customer service became awful. We were insulted, criticized and chastised. Although we were close to making a final deal and signing the papers It got terrible ugly and became the most horrible And unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. The manager was involved in this which is more unacceptable and he was the biggest offender. The other reviews that had similar experience... I am not surprised!!!

(Disclaimer: I am not one to submit reviews online, so this is an exception for me, and the reason for the low rating just transpired, so I'm more than a little upset)The Good: We dropped by Girard at 6:30 yesterday 8/31) to see about several 2016 Escapes that were posted on their website. At the time, there were great customer incentives (0% APR/72mo + up to $2K Ford bonus cash) that we were looking to take advantage of. In addition, I am also a member of Fords X-plan (Ford partner recognition program) so there are additional benefits and incentives.I'll start off by saying the salesman we dealt with; BJ Evans, is exceptional. You'd be hard pressed to find someone more accommodating, friendly (and car savvy). We found a car we wanted to make a deal for and proceeded to work numbers. I mentioned, several times, that we wanted the XPlan + XPlan incentives + the Public Incentives. Worked with the manager (Marty) who accommodated the XPLAN price and incentives but told me that it could not be used in conjunction with Public incentives (In other words, i could not get the 0% APR). I explained that I was able to do this in the past on another Ford purchase (at a different dealer). Nevertheless he insisted it couldnt be done. I took his word for it without checking for myself (my mistake) and we finally settled on a price. To everyone's credit, they stayed past closing to get us to this point. We shook hands and we were scheduled to return today to finish paperwork.The Bad: As noted above, the numbers that were agreed upon were based on XPLAN + XPLAN incentive only, after I was assured it could not be used in conjunction with Public offers. Today, I visited the ford Xplan website and found this was NOT the case.... (It states in Section 6 PRICING AND INCENTIVES: From time to time, Ford Motor Company and Lincoln Motor Company will offer special incentives to Partner Recognitions Program participants in addition to existing retail (i.e. general public) incentives.). I gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed that Marty was misinformed. I'm still willing to work a deal if they would honor the XPLAN + incentives. OR, it is a dealership's prerogative to not honor XPLAN, and I would have accepted this and moved on. I called Girard and explained to BJ what I found and he said we should print it out and bring it with us tonight. I told him I didnt want to drive 40 minutes just to find out they wouldnt honor it. At this point, the conversation turned curt and pointed. BJ said Marty wasnt in the office and that I should just talk to him tonight. Not happy with that answer, my wife sent an email to Girard showing what Ford's website stated, provided the link and the fact that we wanted to know if they would honor it (At this point, it's still just business and I am still willing to overlook the mistake (or intentional misinformation).The Ugly: Marty called me at home and wanted to know (and i quote) "Why I wasn't happy with BJ" and "why he had to be bothered at home" "after working till 10PM" and "after we shook on the deal". Blood pressure is up at this point, but I kept cool and tried to explain what I had found on the website, at which point Marty starts talking over me, insisting I was wrong. I politely told him that it was fine and we can cancel the deal. To which he said "No we're not going to cancel the meeting" and began raising his voice and began chastising me for reneging on a deal. I hung up on him. He called back 5 min later, and continued badgering me. I told him (and at this point Im raising my voice) that the 'deal' was based on a flat out LIE when they told me that the public incentive wasnt allowed. I also told him I didn't like the fact that he was essentially questioning my honor, to which he said "I am questioning your honor" and went on rant (while i was talking). So, take it for what its worth. In my eyes, someone there was trying to scam me and then had the nerve to say I was reneging when I uncovered the trush. For anyone that has worked in a customer service oriented job, the rest speaks for itself. Under NO circumstance, is it EVER acceptable to treat a customer or potential customer that way. Marty turned something that could have ended in Deal for the car or in the worst case, a friendly agreement to scrap this deal and maybe save a future deal into this review. I should have read other people's experiences with this dealership before i went. Live and learn. Marty, you brought this on yourself. BJ lost a sale (and very likely more sales from us in the future) because you just couldnt do what was right, or at the minimum, keep it professional.

My name is Ruth santrock I purchased a 2013 F150 estimate two months ago well I've been having problems with tires when we purchased the vehicle we asked about the tires they told us that passed inspection well my grandson has to put air in the tires every day not only that the fault tire light comes on every day I called and asked about it and was told they would call me back I have not received a phone call yet I'm 73 years old I have Parkinson's disease dementia and other illnesses worst service ever also we also made an agreement on a payment around 395 we signed outside and didn't say and I went inside to do paperwork well a few days later the salesman came to my house I've never known them to drive all the way to your house to have you sign paperwork well I didn't look over it thinking I trust this man maybe he forgot something well I got my first bill in the mail and it is $600 now we're stuck with this big payment and they won't even help us with tires or anything else not to mention when we bought vehicle it was late so I understand that it didn't get water details but they didn't even tell him to come back the next day after and that I don't understand how you can treat your customers like that it seems like all they're worried about is money worst service ever still waiting on call back already reported to corporate someone please call us tires are cracked Town Fair Tire even said they don't understand how you guys to sell a truck know when the tires were bad but making customers happy was your number one thing

I was trying to negotiate a car deal with Girard Ford. What a scam dealer!! Bunch of crooks there. Here is why: I was interested in their listing on car gurus for a 2013 Corolla that had 26,517 miles on the odometer. The online price for the vehicle was $10,950 and they were ready to finance it for me for $10,500 (3% APR for 75months). That was little higher than my budget, I told them that after negotiating for like a day and the manager Marty decreased the price suddenly to $8500 for me. At that point I told them I would come and pay you the next day and take the car. Meanwhile I also asked them for a Carfax report which they did not give me. Instead they said they would send me the auto check report which shows the car is clear. So I thought before I invest $9000 in a car I should atleast purchase a carafe report. And to my horror, I saw the car has a major accident in 2015 which was the only thing not listed about the car on auto check. So obviously I made the decision to not go for the car. But next morning even before I could call the and say I am not coming to pay you, they called me and said the car was sold!! What a bunch of crooks..!!! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

Miguel Depina and Doug Burt came through for me today in a huge way!!! From my first step in the door Miguel made me feel comfortable and eased all worries about the situation I was in, it was my first car buying experience in 15 years. Awesome salesman, he explained everything to me from top to bottom and had a clear answer for every question I had. I would recomend him to anyone!!! Doug Burt explained all my options and possibilities to me in black and white, no sugar coating and then came back with a better deal than I could imagine. I left Girard Ford feeling proud and knowing that I made the right choice going there to buy a new car!!

Spoke with the internet salesman on Monday about a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 that was shown online. Confirmed it was still available and agreed that i would come Tuesday morning at 10am to check it out. So Tuesday morning i spent 20 minutes going through my current vehicle to clean it out to prepare for trade in. Then got in the car with my 3 year old and drove almost half an hour out there.Upon arrival was met with a very nice and professional salesman, who took us in and started the process. Took my info and what i was looking to pay etc. After about ten minutes in there they tell me they sold the truck the night before.I understand things happen, but a courtesy call in the morning before wasting a drive and subsequently my day would have been nice. I wasted gas and time. The salesman was very apologetic, nice, and professional. Tried thinking of other vehicles similar that they had.I just cant shop for cars impulsively, I need to research. So just felt like my whole day and time was wasted when a simple phone call or heads up would have been appreciated.

My wife and I were looking for a new Taurus(2015) and we tried to deal with 2 other dealerships one that is less than 2miles from our home. Total waste of time. I called Girard ford after seeing just what we wanted on their web site, they had it in stock and held it for us so we could drive down from Waterbury and be sure it was there. Upon arriving we were met by Miguel and Doug and with very little dickering we were doing the paper work with in 45 minutes, Doug gave us fair market value for our 2005 Five Hundred, gave us a fair price on the Taurus Limited and they all stayed 1.5 hours after closing time on a Saturday so that we could bring it home with out the need for a second hour an a half ride to Norwich to pick it up.We haven't been back for service yet so I can't comment on that yet, but if service is anything like the sales dept. I am sure we won't be unhappy.I would recommend to anyone looking for a new Ford to at least take the time and drive down to Girard and give a look and talk with Miguel or Doug.

I have never encountered a dealer so unwilling to sell me a car. I went in during the week after being blown off over the weekend because they didn't have the time for me to take a test drive. I went in with a check in hand, had an excellent test drive, but when it came time to discuss price, they were unwilling to move on anything. The salesman was fine, the sales manager, however had the customer service skills of a disgruntled fast food worker. They wouldn't give me a total price despite repeatedly trying to get me to sign my name to a virtually blank agreement. The tires were mismatched and it had a blown fog light. They refused to even fix the fog light, virtually the cheapest thing I could ask for. I finally walked out when it became clear they had no interest in selling me a vehicle. They want to sweep you off your feet and get you committed early, and if you show even the least amount of critical thinking they lose interest. Do not recommend unless you're searching for an exercise in futility.

What I like the most is that they really make you feel welcome...they listen to your concerns and they help you to give you the best option.. Buying a car was not in my plans but the payments are comfortable for me..even my kids felt welcome.. I recommend this dealer...

Had a bad experience with these guys. I called on the phone for a particular model and booked a test drive a few days in advance. On the day that I drove there from Boston (1.5 hours), I called to check and a salesman, Peter, told me that the car would be available. However, when I arrived, I was told by the salesman that the car wasn't there yet and I could wait at the lounge (actually, a rather comfortable area with coffee and TV). I waited for an hour and then I went out for lunch. Then I came back. By this time, I had been in town for 3 hours. That's when they told me that the owner had taken the vehicle on an emergency trip out of town! The worst part of this is that they had my phone number and could have called me at any time so I wouldn't have to wait anymore! Folks, I would not recommend buying from them. Maybe they never actually had the car there or didn't intend to sell it. Maybe they just wanted to get me in the store so I could buy something else. I don't know what the real story behind giving me the runaround, but they cost me a half of a day and a tank of gas for nothing. Just plain unprofessional and borderline sleazy.

I brought my car in to the service center to have them check out a noise the car was making and do some scheduled maintenance. They fixed the problem and performed the maintenance quickly and efficiently. The people in the service center were nice to deal with too.

This was my first time buying a car and I was nervous and apprehensive working with a dealership. I wanted to make sure I would be taken care of and thats exactly what they did for me. The checked my car I was purchasing in every way possible and I got new brakes and oil changed. I was taken on test drive where, Alex, went through all the features of the the vehicle with me. They helped me call my care insurance agency to update to my new car and printed my insurance cards for me. Keith came in on his day off to work with me on getting the lowest interest rate and monthly payment as a first time buyer. He answered all of my questions, and explained the process to me. Paul Bernadoni was a huge help in the process and made sure I was getting taken care of. Thank you Girard Ford. I love my new vehicle. I drove all the way down from Maine to get this car and you made it worth it. I would tell everyone looking for a new car to work with this team at Girard Ford!

I switched to Girard Ford even though I bought my car from another dealer with which I had numerous issues regarding service, lack of friendliness and charges. That dealer was too impersonal and not concerned with my particular issues and problems they caused.The phone at Girard was answered directly by service-and not by an automated phone system. It turned out to be Jose Arriaga who, on the phone, told me which service appointments were the most important ones for my car. He quickly made an appointment and I had the service done more quickly than I had been used to and the staff from Jorge to the cashier were especially warm and friendly. I had had an issue with an unusual warning light coming on. They found nothing in the computer but told me to just bring it in whenever the light came on again even without an appointment unlike the previous dealer.The light came on again during a 4 hour trip and I later brought the car in at my convenience and a mechanic IMMEDIATELY checked the computer for codes but found none. Making an extra effort to troubleshoot he tried an additional computer and found the problem which was the subject of a Ford Technical Service bulletin, not a safety issue but covered by Ford. I made an appointment to bring the car in soon after and the car was fixed quickly with a software upgrade which no one had seen before. At my previous dealer, I would have had to leave the car all day.I met one of the owners in the customer waiting area who was also very friendly and helpful.Although I have to travel further to get to Girard, total time spent is less and I leave with a smile on my face.

My wife and I went to Girard to look at a new Ford Mustang. We had been looking at used BMW vehicles and got tired of seeing cars wiith paint damage or cars that had been smoked in. My wife had a Mustang GT back in 1998 and she loved it. We were greeted by salesman Jimmy who was very courteous and he set us up with a test ride in a 2014 Mustang. My wife and I absolutely loved the car. After the test ride I decided to try to make a deal. I hadn't planned on buying that day, but the car and the dealership seemed like the real deal. We were planning on going to check out another used BMW the next day. I met the business managers and they were all very polite and understood our needs. About 1 1/2 hours after we had arrived at Girard Ford I was shaking hands with the General Manager as we had struck a deal that made my wife and I very happy. In another 1 1/2 hours or so Jimmy demonstrated the interior amenities of the car in great detail! We drove home in a new Ford Mustang and my wife was smiling from ear to ear!!!I have been involved in many vehicle purchases over the years and I will say that this experience at Girard Ford tops the list!

In the past 2 months, we had 3 minor car issues: A broken windshield wiper which was replaced at no charge, and a tire that registered low pressure. Air was put in the tire but a few weeks later, the signal came on again. We went to Girard Ford and the tire was then plugged. All of these repairs were done without an appointment and within an hour. The only cost to us was less than $20 to plug the tire. We were always treated with courtesy. We will continue to have our Edge serviced at Girard (where it was purchased) and when the time comes to buy as new vehicle, Girard will be our first (and hopefully our only) stop. We are 'seniors' and do so appreciate being treated fairly and well. Thank you, Girard Ford.

I went there to visit my friend Jimmie and he ended up selling me a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. I had no intention of buying a car, but after the test drive, I new I had to have her. I went to Girard Ford to have my 2008 Focus serviced before taking a trip to Ohio. After the service, on the way home, the car stalled. I called the Service department and asked for their help. A tow truck was immediately sent out to fetch me and take me back to the dealership. Jose Arriaga, the Service consultant, acquired a rental car for me to use until my Focus was fully repaired. I am completely satisfied with the professional and genreous service afforded to me in this unfortunate circumstance. It was a real pleasure buying my new Focus from Girard Ford. Chris Johnson was the primary salesman that I met with. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. The dealership didn't have the exact Focus I wanted, but they arranged a dealer swap with another local dealership. Chris was extremely communicative through the whole process, keeping me informed of what was going on via phone and email. Once the car car arrived at the dealer, he walked me through all the bells and whistles of the vehicle and explained how all of the displays and controls worked. Once the purchase was final, he even helped me sync my phone. Since my purchase, he has attempted to contact me to ensure everything is good with the vehicle, but unfortunately, I have been spend extra time at work dealing with an important project and haven't had a chance to speak with him. I would also like to thank Peter, the internet sales rep, and Kieth, the finance guy. Both were very friendly and helpful.I really couldn't be happier with my experience!! I just hope when the time comes for service or warranty work(fingers crossed), that the service department is just as friendly and cooperative as the sales staff.Thanks again you guys!!!!!

In the summer of 2012 I purchased a used 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac P/U from Girard Ford. First of all the salesperson was a young man who told me he went to school for something else and he was just doing this until he got a better job and he also told me someone else was interested in the truck so I should act fast if i wanted it. I bought the truck and within 3 days i noticed some transmission fluid leaking under the vehicle. So I took it back and they informed me that because of the age of the vehicle and the mileage, it did not have a warranty....but after I unfortunately had to complain some more they did replace the gasket on the tranny pan. It slowed the leak but didn't fix the problem. I came back and complained some more and now there was also oil leaking....they said they couldn't do anything else unless i wanted to pay for the service. I asked to see the General Manager and had them look at the problem but it still wasn't fixed. I went back to talk to him again and he said there was nothing more he could do.Sooo at this point I was totally frustrated and decided I would never go to that dealer again. I just kept putting oil and transmission fluid in the vehicle and I couln't park it in my driveway because of the leaks.This spring i needed some work done on the truck because the engine warning light had come on and it needed a fuel rail sensor (totally unrelated to the above problem). So i had I took it to Dowling Ford in Cheshire, CT and asked them to also take a look at the leaks i had. They did a thorough assessment and told me i had several leaks; front and rear pinion seals, transmission pan gasket, transmission filter kit, oil pan gasket and oil dipstick (needed sealing up). All of this work cost just over $2000 so i'm pretty sure that's the reason Girard Ford didn't want to fix it. I also had to put new brakes, rotors, and 2 calipers on which cost another $1000 about a month previously.They should have never sold a car on a Ford Dealer lot that needed so much work on it. People go to dealerships because they trust them to have higher quality cars and trucks and that was not the case with the truck i bought there. They should be ashamed and they should have tried to fix the problem right the first time with no questions asked and no charge.Buyers beware...if you don't have a written warranty on the vehicle you purchase don't assume the dealer will stand behind its good name and do what is right.I will never use Girard ford again but i will use Dowling Ford in Cheshire, CT. I love my truck now that it is fixed properly.Phil Searcy

It was a pleasure dealing with Dave, he seems to be a straight shooter. Keith was also very informative in the finance area. My experience with getting my new truck fueled and detailed in a timely manner left little to be desired. Because the they had no means to fuel my new ride nor get it detailed the day I came back, Dave kicked in his own funds to get my truck fueled up and I made another trip back to get it cleaned. My Focus 04 developed a vibration and was noisy, and so I contactd Girard Ford, Norwich, CT to arrange for service. I was asked to drop off the car the day before service so the problem could be addressed first thing in the morning. I dropped the car off at 3:00 p.m. on Dec. 13 with the expectation that service would begin when the dealership opened the next morning. About 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 14, I called to see how things were going. I got a very evasive response to the effect that they had determined that the vehicle vibrated when the engine was started. I pointed out that I already knew that since this was the reason I had brought it in for service. I pressed for information as to whether they had identified the cause of the problem. After much hemming and hawing, the service person admitted that they had not yet started the service and did not have an answer to my question. I then asked if they could tell me when service would begin. The answer was sometime after lunch. We closed the conversation at this point, with me not being satisfied.About 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 14 I again called Girard Ford and spoke to the service manager. I explained by dissatisfaction. To this he replied that my experience was not acceptable and that he personally would get on the problem. Late that afternoon I heard back from the service department to the effect that they had determined that the vibration was caused by a failed motor mount. I asked if the problem had been repaired and was informed that it had not. I was told that they could not get to it until the next morning, Saturday, Dec. 15. In the end, it was just before noon that day that the vehicle was ready to pick up.My dissatisfaction is not with the repair but with the off-handed manner in which I was treated. The service staff did not have the courtesy to call me to let me know that there would be a delay in providing the service, and when I called the dealership I found the staff to be evasive and not forthcoming in answering my questions. I felt as if they were treating me not with respect but lik a not very bright five-year old. The unexpected delay caused my wife and me considerable inconvenience. We are elderly and have only the one car. We had to hastily rearrange rides to and from the dealership from friends, inconveniencing them as well. As a whole, this was not a satisfactory experience.

We traded our vehicle in for a van, it's been just a month and the van is broken down on the side of the highway now. Up until now we have had numerous dealings with this dealership trying to make sense of it all. The van is STILL carrying dealer plates because for some reason or another they have not yet simply transferred our plates. Last week they asked to take the van for an emissions test and offered us a car to drive while completing this task. The following morning they call and ask to come pick up our van, but then decide that we cannot have a replacement vehicle. After arguing with them via phone they again offer us a vehicle. There are many more incidents to report including a change in the amount of money we were told we had to "put down" last minute, but I am currently on my way to the girard ford establishment at 9:30 am with my infant daughter, after missing a days pay due to lack of transportation because my van is not running........

There was a lot of dirt in the trunk. Also the cargo cover skirt was missing, which was disappointing but we accepted the vehicle. Overall it was a decent experience.

Quick turn around on an issue with the Navigation system, which showed the level of owenership and pride they have in their business. Overall enjoyable experience for myself and my family. I was shopping for a ford F 150 all day and had already been to 3 dealers. Girard Ford was my last stop and they had the exact truck that I was looking for. After settling on a price, in writing, that was fair the dealership played a couple of games: First, when I was going to sign the purchase agreement I noticed that the price was about $4,000 above the "out the door price" we negotiated on. I showed Rob (salesman) the difference and he went back to the manager and got the number changed with a new purchase agreement. The only problem was that the new purchase agreement was about $300 more than the "out the door price". Again, I showed Rob the price difference and he went back to the manager to get it changed. Finally, they had the correct purchase agreement price so I signed the paperwork. My take on the situation is if they listed the incorrect price once that can be a mistake, but after a second time that is attempting to take advantage of a customer.Secondly, after the purchase agreement was signed I was confronted by Keith (business manager). He asked if I could come back tomorrow and finish signing the paperwork because he had an appointment he was running late for. I agreed because I had to wait until tomorrow to pickup the truck. The next day I showed up at the dealership a little early than scheduled and informed Rob that I was here to sign the rest of the paperwork. Rob informed Keith that I was there. I had to wait around for almost 1.5 hours until Rob tells me that Keith forgot I was there, but will be right with me. So, I guess that customers are just another number to Girard Ford!I am a self employeed carpenter and deal with customers frequently. Based on my experience being honest and making customer's my priority are two top qualities that customers appreciate. With these economic times a business has to make the customer feel like they are important to them and not just another sale.

Great front line customer service. Repair for oil leak was completed, but I still have indications of burning oil when the car is running. May take car back of it does not stop. Repair for wiring and spark plugs was completed, but wires used were defective. Dealership did a great job taking the car back in and fixing it on the spot.

I just purchased a new Ford Fiesta from Girard Ford. One would think that in purchasing a vehicle especially a new one at that, you would be receiving great service on all aspects. This is not the case. I purchased the vehicle on 9/24/12. The night that I went to the dealership and had an "appointment" set up for the signing of paperwork we had to sit and wait for about an hour and a half and closed the dealership. This makes an appointment look unnecessary. I was then told after signing all paperwork that the second key and owner's manual was locked in a different office and they would get it to me the next day. Two days later I was sent a text message from Miguel saying that both of these items needed to be ordered. I also on that day received a phone call from Keith saying that the night I signed paperwork we didn't handle the down payment of $1,500. It was a late night and everyone forgot which is understandable. I thought it was rude of him though because I was at work and he was asking me where I work to come and pick the money up from me at that moment. I told him I didn't have my checkbook on me at work and then he asked if he could pick it up from me when I was home from work at my house. He came and picked the check up from me that night and assured me that my owner's manual and second key for the vehicle would be in my hands in two days. That was on 9/26/12. I then received a text message from Miguel again stating that my key and owner's manual would have to be ordered and that was on 9/28/12 which happened to be the day I was promised these two items on. All of this up until this point seemed to be not that bad to deal with and that if I had these couple of items by the next week I would be a happy customer. This unfortunately is NOT how things worked out. I actually realized another factor that was not making me very happy. The night that we went and signed the paperwork we were assured by Val and Keith that every vehicle on their lot had VIN etching on the vehicle. At this point I realized that my vehicle did not have VIN etching but that night that I signed for all of this that I had paid $155.00 plus tax for the VIN etching. This does not make me very happy when here I am putting all this money down and then I realize that I paid that much for something that I did not have. At this point I was wondering "was I lied to about this" or "was this an oversight"? Well nonetheless, I insisted at this point to be reimbursed for the VIN etching. I then began the "game" at this point of waiting and waiting for a phone call to tell me that my key and owner's manual were in and then it came to the point of calling and waiting and calling and waiting! I called them on 10/2/12, 10/10/12, 10/12/12, and 10/17/12. All of these times I was given an excuse of why they didn't have it or that they lost the order form and then a couple times I called and just never received a phone call back. Surprisingly, one of the times I called I spoke with Val who is a manager and he told me I would have a call back within an hour (I never received a phone call back) and good thing I didn't hold my breath because I personally went there more than a week later and was standing there looking for answers and all the things I was told would be working on getting were not done still. They also tried to make me feel bad in the closing of the sale because the car I was trading in and the way the deal would work out wasn't "going to be profitable for them." We realized that the vehicle I traded in was being put out and sold for about $5000 more than they gave me for the trade-in value. I think that is really bad for the customer service when you try and make your customer feel bad and is totally unprofessional. There were also other instances where I called and I was given an attitude and told that these were not problems that they needed to handle. It is sad that you need to physically go to a place of business to actually get an answer and not be lied to, to actually get what you paid for to begin with. To make a long story short, here I am almost 6 weeks later (11/2/12 which is totally unacceptable that I had to put this much time and effort into handling all of these situations myself and I was asked a few times to go to this website and give them a good rating, Ha!) and I finally have it all squared away after going to the dealership now 3 times after the sale was complete. To top things off, they programmed the key and it didn't fully work and we had to fix it ourselves and when I called I was told "Oh sorry we will have to look into our way of programming it." They didn't even offer to fix it and I live about 45 minutes away and I can't keep driving back and forth. What has happened to customer service???!!! PLEASE AVOID THE FRUSTRATION AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!!! I am the last person to complain about things when I do not receive the service I deserve but this dealership just pushed me to the point of being beyond dissatisfied and writing this review!

I was able to get service within a few hours for a reported rear right wobble observed by someone driving behind the truck. All wheels were re-balanced--no major problems were found. Also oil change was done and 5,000 mile multi-point inspection completed.

This was a painless buying experience. I had a very good idea of what I wanted in a truck with the exception of the motor. The salesman suggested I drive a few different models to help with my decision. I think I spent 2 hours there start to finish.....including agreeing on a price and picking up the truck the next morning. It took longer to wait for the person that does the financing to have the forms ready to be signed and for his attempt to up sell items I told him I was not interested in than it did for the salesman to take me on several test drives and come to an agreement on the price of the truck. Joe Sabourin made this a great buying experience.

He guided me though the whole process without a glitch. Brenden Walshe was also most helpful with price negotiations as was Mike Collins. They were very fair in the price they gave for my trade in and the price I paid for the new one. I felt I got an excellent deal. This is my third F150, and undeniably the nicest truck I've owned. I had been shopping around for a new Focus hatchback, new the equipment I wanted, and began pricing the car at different dealers. Not having much time in my hectic life to play the car-buying game, I wanted the best price I could get without having to dance around a bunch of salesmen. I contacted the dealers who had the car I wanted and requested their best price. Pete Christopher sent me a very good, fair price for the car (for both buyer and dealer) while at the same time beating the other dealers (who obviously didn't think I was serious about not having time to play the game). Girard won my business based on Pete's quote.Joe Sabourin, while young, turned out to be great to work with. He was so excited about the Focus, showed me every inch of the car, told me what every button was for. The salesmen at other dealerships did not do that, they just took me for a test drive and I had to ASK what the buttons were for! Joe was also very pleasant and fun to talk with. The test drive was a pleasant experience, and I was happy to give him the sale.Keith was easy to deal with re. finalizing the sale.The only bump in the road was that communication broke down between my lender and the dealership, and I had to make dozens of phone calls and emails to get the purchase agreement sent from dealer to lender. The problem was ultimately on the Lender's side, but I wish both parties had worked harder to communicate with each other instead of leaving me to do all of the work. I felt as if the dealer HAD the sale, and the lender HAD the business, so at that point they stopped caring if the customer was satisfied. But, we worked it out and all ended well.Overall great experience. Will recommend Girard to friends and family.

Have had 5 oil changes so far at Girard. I can only assume that the oil and filter are properly changed. The info center oil reminder has NEVER been re-set after an oil change without my directing a technician to do so. This is in spite of my filling out several surveys stating this neglect on their part. You have to wonder if anyone in management ever reads these things. Also, early on after my original purchase of a new vehicle from Girard, I had a problem with the seat belt chime NOT going on. After inspection by a technician, I was told there was nothing wrong. I read the owner's manual myself to confirm a problem existed. I took the car to a different Ford dealer where it was promptly fixed.

These guys are true used car salesmen. They are exactly what everyone hates about going to buy a car. You tell them ahead of time what deal you want, they agree and then come back with a totally different deal (much higher then the original of course)! They will try to low ball you on your trade and squeeze you for every penny they could get. Buyer beware of these guys, you will lose money if you don't read everything! Very untrustworthy dealership!

The dealership bent over backward to take our money, and the vehicle was very nice for the price. But the follow up was abyssimal. It took weeks to get the registration and getting ahold of people for answers was a significant task. People looking into information never called back and we were made to feel like we were imposing on their valuable time.

I was given, what I now know was a sales pitch,even after I repeatedly said making the payment for the scheduled time was going to be a hardship, I was to return in 6 months to have my car payment lowered or trade vehicle in for one that would have a lower payment. I was told it would not be a problem, more cars would be available. 7 months later, first I get told by Mr. Brown, "I was not working here at that time", I also was told "the person who offered me the deal is not an employee at this location", and then finally I get informed by Al after he speaks to Mike Collins the General Manager, "there is nothing that can be done, if I do not want to keep the vehicle you must go to another dealership". It doesn't matter how nice they are, they said what they did to get a car off their lot.

From day one when I made the first phone call to the dealership. I spoke with Miguel. He the information needed from me. I told him about the vehicle that I was interested in. I was nervous. Because I knew that I had bad credit. He was so soft spoken. It made me relaxed. I then spoke to Rodger Brown. He reassured me that everything would be okay. Which it was. I received a phone call from Rodger about 4 days later. And he told me that everything went well. I went to the dealership, and they had the vehicle waiting. And the papers ready for me to sign. And that was it. Fast, Quick, and Friendly. It was the best experience I've had from a car dealership. Jeff Howard actually took over for another Jeff that has no clue...he was suspose to call my husband with 3 trucks he only was calling with the truck on the lot and still could not tell my husband about a price and other questions he was looking for answers, Jeff Howard was experienced in selling a truck answering questions my husband had of what we were looking for in our truck purchase, the best deal we could possibly get, and is taking care of the issues that my husband has with the truck. I would recommend Jeff Howard to anyone buying a vehicle new or used from this Dealership, Jeff has a wonderful sense of humor and can make anyone smile. Keith Nye was our finance guy, hopefully took care of a couple of typing issues we noticed, very good at his job and usually does a great job we heard. Next time we are ready for a car we will see Jeff and Keith again. I really would rate our time at Girard Ford exceptional.

I went to Girard Ford to trade in my car for an all wheel drive vechicle, I got approved for a 2009 Escape and a week later I got a call saying the financing didn't go through. I brought the car back, because they already had me approved for a set amount they tried to find something else for me. As they were looking for a car for me I shopped at another dealership to see what they could do for me.I was told by my salesman at Girard Ford that "If you don't buy from us we could hold up your financing and you'll be without a car for 2 months".Not wanting to be without a car, I bought from them. I got a phone call a week later from my salesman asking me about a check and saying if they didn't get that check the deal wasn't gonna go through. So my salesman continues to threaten to take the car back from me, He even went as far as saying "don't make me come take the car back from you." I wasn't happy with the way I was treated by my saleman, I must say that Sales Mgr Roger was very nice and was willing to work something out for me.

I wanted to trade my gas guzzler in for a more gas friendly vehicle,I picked out a used 2009 ford escape.It was a certified vehicle with 38000 miles on it.I went there on monday may 7 2012,and decided the escape was what I wanted.They put it on the side and put a sign in it saying sold with my name on it.I could not go back on tuesday the 8th to pick up the vehicle because I had to work a double shift I could have done it wednesday but Keith Nye in finance was off.When I came in on thursday to pick it up,after keith al fisher in sales and my wife and I looked for it for half an hour they told me the vehicle was sent to auction for mechanical reasons.After being lied to I found out the vehicle was sold to someone else the day before.No one had the common courtesy to tell me the truth and offer me another vehicle in its place.We had to walk around the lot for an hour and look for another vehicle,BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.I was very upset,and was going to go to another dealer,but was already approved for the escape.Both Keith Nye and Al Fisher were very helpful in finding me another vehicle.Keith did a great job of getting me financed ASAP and getting me on my way quickly.This is the second vehicle I bought at girard ford in 7 months and I only deal with Keith Nye for my finance needs he is very professional and helpful.

I went in for a scheduled oil change. At the same time my oil was being changed - Jose had service also take care of two recalls that had taken place as well on the Ford Focus. I didn't know about these recalls when I went in so was pleasantly surprised to know that they had been taken care of and that I didn't have to go back in or be concerned if I received the recall notice.Jose, was very professional and friendly and I left feeling secure in knowing any issues with my car had been taken care of.Thank you.

Was out to test drive for a new used car for myself. Miguel DePina was very friendly/Knowledgeable and made a great first impression of dealership. The manager Roger appears to have a good working relationship with his staff. Ended up with a Demo 2011 Escape with 7800miles and great deal. LOVE my Escape and due to the mileage had to get it in for oil change within a week of buying. Service center also very friendly and Jose Arriaga was helpful. Would definitely recommend the dealership to friends.

Brought my Acura Mdx in after Allstate recommended them due to a tailgate accident.Explained all problems with my car.After 11 days picked my car up was told everything was fixed.On the way home realized there was still scraping in the back of my car and when I got home realized there was a drip on my tailgate.I made an appt. to take my car back in.They fixed the drip but informed me I needed all shocks and brakes done on my car.This scraping noise was not happening before I got rear-ended so I knew it had to do with the accident and I just had my brakes checked a few weeks ago and did not need brakes so decided to take my car to Acura.They ripped my car apart and found I did not need brakes or shocks.It was the rear brake shield rubbing against the rotor.So I was stuck with the $109 diagnostic fee.Ford said they talked to Allstate and they would not pay because they feel it was not part of the accident.If Ford would have found the problem in the fist place they would have realized it was part of the accident.As for the brakes and shocks..not quite sure why they told me they were needed.I have contacted Allstate and they told me to fax the invoice to them and they would take care of it.Still waiting for a response.Definitely would not recommend this service shop to anybody!

Went in for routine service that was done both expediently and professionally. A secondary problem was diagnosed that revealed my passenger side mirror needed replaced which again was done quickly with perfect mechanical functioning after completion. This staff maintains a high degree of friendly service while accomplishing required service needs. I go to Girard to get my service needs done because they do the best work with professional Ford trained people that did it right the first time. This visit was a classic example of getting first rate service in a short wait period. I will contine to go to Girard for my service needs because I know they do it right the first time.

After an oil change, I ALWAYS have to request for a service person to reset the message center oil reminder. This should be automatic. It should be part of an automatic check off list that includes topping off fluids and checking the battery.It is inexcusable to miss resetting this EVERY time I have had an oil change at Girard.

My son bought his first truck from Girard Ford in Norwich in February 2012. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. I have been buying cars from over 30 years and have never seen an operation like this one. It was a bullying session from the moment we entered the door. George was determined to sell him a truck they just got. I must admit it was beautiful but the strong arm approach is too much. I wish I had brought a man along to handle the bullying. After waiting 3 and a half hours for our 4:15 appointment to complete the paper work for financing one night and then another 1 and a half five days later to get the license plate he finally got the truck. He has had the truck about 2 and a half weeks and it has been in for service twice. Once at their shop and another time to fix the problem they caused while repairing the door and will not accept responsibility for. The service department tried to fix a problem with the door because the bell went off every time you opened the door, key or not. There was paper work in the glove box from the previous owner with the same problem. They stopped the bell permanently accusing the past owner of doing something to the ignition. It took three days to get the job done and when I asked why, they once again accused someone else, my son of not listening to them telling him it would take that long to get the part needed. That is not true but the lies just keep coming. On the way home we noticed the heater didnt work. We took the truck to a local garage because the distance to Girard is over 35 minutes away. They forgot to reconnect the heater fan. When I called to let them know they were angry that I brought it to someone else and refused to take responsibility for anything. The air filter was filthy and the windshield wipers were broken so we had to pay to have them replaced even though wipers are considered a safety feature and suppose to be in good working order according to DMV. Both Scott and Josh in the service department were condescending when talking to me on both occasions like I have no business asking questions. Apparently bullying is a practice throughout the building. I would not advice anyone to subject themselves to this kind of treatment.

I test drove a 2012 F350 and purchased it. What really surprised me was how helpful the salesman was. He answered all my questions and let me and my wife take it for a test drive by ourselves. I have never heard of anyone doing this. He explained the entire process and was in my new truck and on my way home in about 2 hours. Who could ask for better service than that. I would highly recommend working with Mr. Rosenthal.

I just bought a 2006 Cadillac DTS from Girard Ford. I have to say that I am a tough SOB with what I expect from a dealership( ie Customer Service, Honesty Attentiveness). I saw this vehicle on their website and sent an email requesting information. I immediately received an email back from Larry Tassone the Internet Sales Manager. I then received a phone call from Larry to help with the questions I had. The phone call was not a sales call, no pressure tactics, just a very informal but informative call. I set up an appointment to look at the vehicle. I arrived at the dealership the vehicle was not there( no fault of the dealership just bad timing on my part). Larry and my salesperson Howard Rosenthal introduced me to George Trikas the General Manager the 3 of them immediately apologized and offered to bring the car to my house. I declined their offer, but was very impressed that they offered. I went back the next day and bought the car. I have to say everyone knows buying cars can be brutal, just down right stressful and this was not. I noticed after purchasing the car there was a mechanical issue that needed attention. I brought it in when the appointment fit my schedule and George the GM took control of the situation. He got the car in, fixed with no hassle, no cost to me, and in a very timely manner. I will say the entire process from Larry being so attentive, friendly on the first contact, to George making the deal happen to the finance person( I apologize I don't have his name) this was very positive experience. The finance person even got me a better rate than I was promised( when does that ever happen????). I will definitely buy from them again, and will recommend them to my friends and family. Promises and follow-thru after the sale? Non existent. We made calls that were never answered. Sent emails with no reply. They got their money. They don't care about resolving any issues after the sale. They're done and so am I. My biggest regret is that I have to return to them for oil changes. I will give credit to them for fixing any safety issues that needed to be done, (had they been done to begin with, DMV would not have had to get involved) and if DMV didn't not get involved then the they would have told me to pound sand... thank you Robyn at DMV for your support.The problem still remains that they did not fix the fuel pressure regulator, therefor the car continues to stall. That is the exact problem it was returned to the dealership for the last 5 times. They continue to tell me that they have the BEST GM repair men working on the car and they know what the issue is, and replaced the crank sensor, and it will take care of the problem....NOT!!! Again, the lies... I took the car to a 3rd party to have it examined per DMV request, and the issue at hand was in writing and provided to Justin, and again he told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I will make it my last effort to notify everyone I come in contact with NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH GIRARD FORD or any other dealership owned by the ANTININO family. They are con-artists, and will do anything possible to screw you in any way they can. Doesn't say much for them when their own employees admit to what they do to their customers, and share it with you.

My old Ranger truck (1994) had not been run for 6 months and as a result ithad front break and engine issues. Both problems were fixed and because thetruck only has 80k miles it is good to go. The Girard people kept me informedon the work status and were easy to interface with. I like the way they keepall the history in their computer files. I am not happy with the shop materialcharge they add to the bill ($15),but it seems to be a common pratice.

The auto bodyshop manager did all she could to repair and return my car. But the repair took longer than we had planned for costing me and my business valuable time. My rear facing sensors, relaced by the shop do not work properly, but I cannot trust the time I may need. Again not the managers fault.I also asked for my car to be detailed BY THE DEALRESHIP before I returned and I was told they had the time to do it. Gave me a price which I agreed to. It was my first request to do this in 48 years. They did not have the time to do what I asked. I was told that my car would be kept inside the shop every night, when I went to pick the car up 10 minutes before they opened, the car was outside, covered in bird crap.I am truley aware that it is very frustrating to attempt to manage when your support system fails. The dealship and the bodyshop are located together but coordinate poorly. If Allstate Insurance did not suggest this place I would not have considered bringing my Cadillac to a Ford dealership.Ironically enough, the bodyshop manager should be given more athority to take over the entire operation. She is business savy and on-the-ball.

The only reason, my ratings were not lower was because of the excellent service from their sales consultants. Joseph, Carl & Brandon were the most wonderful people I have every dealt with in buying a car. Then enters Keith & George the finance guy and manager.They are the most rude,obnoxious, deceitful people I have ever encountered. I was going to make Girard Ford my new plac to purchase cars until I had to deal with them regarding VIN ETCH Service (Optional) Make sure you know they are sliding that in your paperwork, and don't discuss it like they do when they ask if you want GAP insurance or an extended warrenty. Then when you call and Chris on the phone syas you can get it refunded, but Keith and George ridicule you and George taps on the sigature place, like you signed it you pay for it. That man should be fired for the way he treats people. I think Joe and Carl & Brandon should look for another bos they are way TO GOOD TO BE WORKING THERE.

What an experience this was.... I will never give Girard Ford my business again. I also work in retail and I will make sure I tell everyone I know about my experience. I went as far as to contact the Commissioner of DMV and the BBB. I hope I am able to prevent this from happening to someone else. I needed a used car that would get better gas mileage than the jeep I was driving. I waited 8 days for someone to call me, and finally went in the dealership to see what the hold up was, I was given a song and dance, and eventually was sold a Grand Am GT. I was sold a warranty for the vehicle which cost 1380.00. The mileage on the car had already exceeded the mileage allowed for the warranty. When I brought it to their attention, the papers were shredded and I was given a new contract to sign. At which time, they kept me distracted to avoid knowing that I would no longer have a warranty on the used car. After I signed the new papers I was asked if I wanted them to research a new warranty for me. Needless to say, I do not have a warranty and the very first week home with the car, it wouldn't start, I was told that the tires had dry rot, and the breaks were making some awful noise. I found a state of ct dmv inspection report stating that the vehicle had FAILED emissions a few days earlier, they claimed they knew nothing about it. I returned the vehicle to be serviced 3 days after picking it up. They tired to give me a run down van that smelt like it had dead animals in it, with the check engine light on, and I got stuck at the gas station because it wouldn't start. They had the car for another week, at which time, they told me that they put 3200.00 worth of work into the car. I find that hard to believe considering the issues I am continuing to have with it. I cannot find it in me, to take it back to them again. I had to contact the commissioner of the dmv to have an inspection done on the car and I am waiting now for the investigation to proceed. All paperwork has been submitted, just awaiting their call.

I have utilized the service department several times over the last two years to maintain my aging caravan. They have serviced/replaced the following items: EGR, full brake job, water pump, thermostat, and many oil changes. At each visit I was met with a smiling service counter worker, prompt attention, and fair pricing. Their waiting area has two TV's (one showing regular programming and one showing the service bay(s)), fresh coffee and tea, a water cooler, couch/chair seating, wi-fi, and a great children's area. I highly recommend their service department.

I had my Subaru repaired after a tailgate accident. The dealer did a great job painting the card and restore the shape of the hood and fenders. However, they made the headlights so low that I could not see much driving at night. I had to bring the car back to the dealer (30 min each way) in heavy down pour (I had to get it fix because I could not see far at night). I asked them before I went how they plan on making it right this time without making it too high. They said they knew how to do it. Knowing they did not do it right the first time, I had some doubts and specifcally spoke to the mechanics. He said if it is not right just bring it back. Yes with me driving another hour. Sure enough, that night I went out to test the car, the headlights were so high that the cars from the other direction flashed their high beam at me. The driver in front of me showed me his middle finger, pulled over, let me pass and drove behind me with his hihg beam on. One would think there must be a standard on how high the beam should be. Apparently the mechanics at Girard Ford did not know it. They were very friendly though.

Called about a used Jeep 2005 Liberty. Since I was coming all the way from Shelton I called to be sure that the car was available. Was told that they couldn't find it so I left my number . They Kevin called back to assure me he had his hands on the vehicle and it was for sale at the price quoted. I had a delay in going so an hour lated I called yet again and got a message at home that the vehicle was there and available. So I drove my daugther there 1 1/2 hours in traffic only to be told that the vehicle was sold that very morning . The old bate and switch...very disgusted.

He was willing to work with me and answered all my questions thoroughly. He was very accomodating with his schedule as well. Everything I asked for he did. Larry was quick to email me info I requested as well. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and easy to work with. Chris showed me how everything worked on the inside of the vehicle. He had sync set up and programmed all the radio stations for me. He let me know I could call him anytime with questions. I would definitely recommend this dealership to my friends and family. I have been a long term customer of Whaling City Ford, in New London CT. Girard knew that I was a long term customer of their rival dealer. Girard had a F-Series SVT Ford Raptor coming in that I ultimately purchased through their dealership. I will say that Larry Tasone, and Joe Lamonica were fantastic. They did everything they could to make my experience a pleasant one. The reason for "ok" rating across the board is their management. They knew this vehical would sell, and were unmoving with their price. They basically gave me a "take it or leave it" approach and when I found a defect in the body, they gave me a promise to work order. They also would not let me test drive the vehical without signing a intent to buy contract. When they were to fix the defect, they made me drive the vehical to the dealer to take pictures to send to Ford. They then made me wait until Ford authorized the work. They then gave me a 4 year old used 2 liter vehical for 4 days while they worked on my defected 51,000 dollar SVT pick up. In summary, I felt and still feel as if they did not appreciate my buisness.

Went in for routine service and got expedient quality work done and was home before I knew it. This has been the norm at this dealership all people I come in contact with greet you and ask you if they can help you. Once I dropped a pair of high end sunglasses in the engine compartment and couldn't get them out myself. The staff at Girad got them and wouldn't accept payment after they did. I will always go here for service because they know exactly what they are doing and are more that willing to help you when you need them.

Overall our experience was very good. We purchased a used 2006 Ford. We were very happy with the car for a couple of days until the check engine light came on. Called the service department, spoke with Bill. He got the car in the next day and made the required repair. No cost to us and no hassle. We were again happy for a week until the car broke down. Called Bill again, and again service fixed the car. No cost to us. This is what may be expected when buying a used car. What is good is that Girard stood behind what they sold. BE AWARE! They are nothing but smiles until you sign of on the papers. They promised the world and under so much pressure, I got nothing in writing. I drove off the lot at 7:58 (they close at 8pm), and 3 minutes down the road, I noticed there was a crack on the windshield. The salesman Chris had never pointed that out. I called him back and he said: "Oh, I thought we had fixed that. I'll take a look at it in the morning". I drove back to the dealership at 9am (when they open) and an extremely rude guy that called himself "the manager" yelled at me saying I was a LIAR, that the windshield was broken on my way home the night before, and that I just wanted a free windshield, and that was not gonna happen. That I had already bought the car and it was my problem. I told him that I called Chris 10 minutes after I left the store and that he admitted the crack was there! Chris started dancing around the subject saying he didn't really say it like that etc etc... He was quick to pressure me to sign the deal and show all the bells and whistles on the car, but never pointed out the crack. I told them that if I was not a good customer, if they were not making enough profit from me, to cancel the deal. He said it was my problem that I owned the car and that my husband was a nice person, but not me! I had my 1 year old baby with me in my arms! We had a $500 deposit on a truck that my husband was gonna buy, and I took it back and don't plan on ever doing business there again! During the sales pitch he kept saying: You have a 60 day warranty, if ANYTHING happens, just bring it back. Now he said it is just for engine and transmission! LIARS! CROOKS! Because of a $200 windshield they just lost a 12k sales.

George the manager lied to my face in front of my sales person Shannon, and my girlfriend. It went all the way to the owner Charles Antonino through the general manager who were both pompous rip offs willing to forgo all future business from me and any of my family and friends.I traded in my car for another. George told me I could take back my car if the dealer cost to repair my car was too much and the dealer did not want to pay for the repairs.The dealer did not want to pay for the repairs so I took them up on their promise to give me back my vehicle.They would not, became nasty saying I could buy it back, pay for all repairs... and they would not even cut a key for me without charging me.Get everything in writing and sign nothing base on the word of the management.

Of all my dealership interactions, this was by far the best and least stressful. We went in looking at a specific vehicle but there was no pressure. My husband and I were welcomed at the door, the car was pulled around immediately. The time was spent showing me the different features of the vehicle before purchase. At the time of purchase time was spent getting my phone synced with the car, reviewing functions and features all in a very relaxed manner. I felt Chris would have spent as much time with me as needed. In fact he came in on his day off. He met with me on Saturday to review some questions I had. The closing process with Keith was very smooth. I love the car and would recommend Girard Ford.

After purchasing a 2007 Focus as per their request I gave them a list of defects, out of three one was taken care. Their service department says all were checked and were ok. The solenoid on the truck still hangs up, and the speed control on the wipers still does nor work. Also the highbeam switch does not work. I have never received an paper on the extended warranty I purchaced, nor have recieved a spare key, even thoug I bought the key replacement policy, and requested a key from my salesperson.

We bought a used car from them and everything went well until we tried to transfer the license plates from our previous car. The DMV informed us that the dealer had to transfer the plates. After repeated calls to the dealership, it took the dealer 4 business days to get this done. The DMV is 5 minutes from the dealership. Carl was very helpful finally getting this done. 4 days seems excessive to get someone to drive to the DMV (5 minutes away) and straighten this out. I realize the DMV is a pain to deal with, but it took them 4 days before they ever went to the DMV, which as I said earlier, is 5 minutes away. We put "YES" for recommending the dealer, but we will probably go to other Ford dealers in the area before returning here.

Carl was great. I called the morning of and he was able to squeeze me in for an oil change in an hour and a half. When I arrived, no one was at the service desk but two other customers were also waiting. When Carl arrived at the desk he attended to the two customers that were already there. When he arrived back and was able to talk with me ( all together I had been waiting about 15 min at this point) Carltold me that for my patience I was going to get a free oil change. After handin over my key I sat and waited for about 45 min for my car. As promised my oil change was free but there were oil smudges on my car and the oil life of my car was not reset. Lucky for me I knew how to do this for an unsuspecting customer that would not know, their car would be telling them much sooner to get their next oil change than after resetting the oil life properly.

My initial dealings were with Larry of internet sales. He is the reason I ended up buying my car with Girard. He was terrific, patient, and got back to me when he said he would. I traveled over an hour to the dealership and when I arrived no one seemed to have any information about me. A number of people seemed to be involved in trying to get the paperwork, etc. in order. The entire process took much longer than it should have. Many of the staff were friendly and helpful. The car was in perfect shape. I'm not sure who decided who the person was to explain the workings of the car to me, but it turned out to be a very nice salesman who had only been with the company 2 weeks. He didn't have a clue as to how the car operated and my having been there so long, there didn't seem to be any one else left to take over. I would definitely buy another car from Girard and am sorry that I don't live closer, because the service dept. was very impressive. I feel I received a fabulous buy and I was given a generous amount on my trade in.

They took care of me immediately.They explained to me what would be done(oilchange) I waited in the waiting room ,which was furnished with comfortable furniture,a T.V. and free coffee was a available. The waiting area was very clean and pleasant.The wait for my car wasn't very long.The service man came in,and explain all that was done to my car ,walked me over to the cashier,handed me my keys and the paperwork and bid me a pleasant goodbye.The cashier was courteous and efficient.All in all,it was a pleasant experience and the price was also reasonable.

Since I purchased this vehicle from this dealership I have been dealt with in a straight forward manner with honesty and ahigh degree of efficiency. The estimates given for service needs are provided promply and reflect a superlative level of accuracy. The work done is accomplished technically perfect and my vehicle is always left spotless when I depart the dealership. One final not but not a small one is the fact that everyone in the place is freindly and courteous. They conduct business daily as though they sincerely are pleased to do business with you. They also have a nice hot cup of coffee for you and clean comfortable place to sit and watch TV until your behicle is done being service if you wait for pick up (like I always do). I am sure many places aren't nearly as totally good as these guys are.

very unhappy with girad ford in norwich conneticut i brought my ford f 150 in for a oil change on 2 / 25 / 2011 for a simple oil change .they changed my oil then told me a mouse had chewed up my air filter and wanted 35 dollars for a new one . wich i refused because i had one at home i returned home and went to change the air filter and it was in perfect condition a little dustyalso on september 6 2010 i was borowing my parents 2002 ford escape to go on vacation to cannada i brought it in to have the oil changed before my trip . while waiting for the oil change the service man came out to the lounge and told me to come look at the ford . he then told me the oil pan gasket was bad and it had an oil leak . and also said that the drivers side rear shock was bad and needed replaced . the escape did not have an oil leak and the shock was not bad i had them change the oil and that was all the car has alwas been in the garage wich i might add that is brand new floor wich has no oil stain to this day from an oil leake .my entire trip to cannada i checked the oil every time i gassed up and to this day the oil level remains the same with no loss and the shocks still give it an awsome ridetom rabovsky

They did a great job fixing my car after an accident. However they had my car for 2 weeks, when you work 45 minutes from home, 2 weeks becomes a long time. A week after i got it back I had to have a tire replaced because it had a bulge... something I would think they might have caught? Overall they did a great job and I would bring my car there again. The Service department is good, but while there I spoke with the Salesman and Sales Manager about trading in my 2009 Fusion, Joe the Salesman did a good job, but all the pricing had to be done by the Sales Manager. The Sales manager gave me a trade in amout of $9,000 for my car which he said was in excellent condition. I thought this was somewhat low, so I checked the Kelly Blue Book and it states my car wth 75,000 miles in excellant condition has a value of $13,625 Good $12,825.00 and for fair $11,425.00. Perhaps rather than the Sales Manager not knowing what he is talking about should do more reasearch. Although I really like the Service Department, the Sales Manager has left me with a sour taste and has convinced me that I now must seek another Ford dealership. Perhaps Whaling City Ford or Flood Ford.
