Needed a nice used car, on a budget and the Hansel Honda salesman, Nick Richard, did a wonderful job in helping me find exactly the car I wanted. Lots of cars to choose from, great selection, very helpful and enthusiastic, did not pressure me to get something I didn't want. Great job, Thanks!

Went into Hansel the other day to look at possibly getting a new car before winter really hits and Marci helped answer all my questions and showed me around even after explaining I was just looking. It was so nice to work with someone personable that made me feel like the decision was still mine witg zero pressure I've felt from other dealerships. i will definitely be back to purchase from Marci!

My spouse bought one CRV and leased two CRVs from Hansel Honda. Good experiences all. He bought a maintenance agreement, and has always had good experiences with the service department. So when it came time for me to get a new car, I did my research on makes and models (Honda, Mazda, and Subaru were on the short list) and went shopping.Ended up with a 2016 Honda HR-V EX-L. Salesperson was Kevin Miller (our second dealing with him). Good guy -- personable and straightforward.I haven't bought a car in 27 years (really), so I didn't know what to expect. I had seen TV commercials for TruCar, and got a price from that website. Hansel's price was $300 less than TruCar. And they took another $500 off that. I don't "wheel and deal," and that seemed fair enough.Anyway, I am pleased with the car, the dealership, and the salesperson.I bought a "Luxe" detailing and had to take the car in for that. Dealt with Renaud Hart, another personable, knowledgeable guy.So, that's it. I hope that this is the last car I have to buy, but if I do need to buy another one in the future, I'll definitely check out Hansel Honda agai

I purchased a 2016 Honda CR-V on Memorial Day weekend. I went in two days prior before the purchase date just to test drive them . Out comes Kevin Miller from Hansel Honda in Petaluma. I told him right away I was just looking that day and not buying. He was very helpful, took my sister and I on some test drives on three different models. He was explaining all the features as we drove. I chose the car I wanted and told him I would be back. Since it was going to be a holiday we set up an appointment. He was an excellent sales representative and I would highly recommend him. A couple days later after the purchase of my new Honda I called him a couple of times on his cell phone to ask him some questions and he was very helpful and said to call him anytime if I continued to need help. They also matched the price from another dealer. GREAT JOB KEVIN MILLER!!!!

Kevin Miller was great in explaining the in's and outs of the CRV.No pressure ,good people skills.I did have to return to the dealer financial department to initial and sign contract as they had discovered a penny off in the original contract. The wait to do this was more than annoying.

my experience was better then i could have ever imagined. my sales associate Hector Cortez was the most professional person i have ever met. He was well versed in all aspects of Honda. He showed true passion for his job and made the entire buying experience a pleasure. Hansel Honda had everything i was looking for in every color and every style. From start to finish i was treated with respect and every question i could think of was answered in full. i will be recommending Hector Cortez and Hansel Honda to anyone i know thinking of getting a new car.

Having previously worked for a car dealership, my car-buying scrutiny comes from experience. When I purchased my Honda FIT from Hansel Honda, I was extremely pleased with their service. Kevin was my sales person and was wonderful! He is very knowledgeable about both the Honda brand and automobiles in general. Even though it was raining, he made a few trips outside to get vehicles of my interest. The test drive covered things the average person would not think to test. The Sales Manager made sure I got a great deal and worked though some difficulties with ease. The Finance Mgr, was full of joy and made things seamless. Their follow-up has been thorough and pleasant. Overall, I felt very comfortable and knew I was getting honest, direct service. I give very high recommendation to Kevin Miller and Hansel Honda. Though this is a dealership review, not vehicle, I want to say I LOVE the Honda FIT! Great space, configurations and gas mileage.

I have been looking for a Honda Pilot for a while and I had specific requirements for my car. I found it at Hansel Honda. I emailed them from the website for the "internet price" which was the same as listed on the website. I gave them an offer and they came back with 1500 under asking price. So I agreed to buy it. I drove 350 miles to get this car. I paid them 3/4 down and even asked for a few months of Sirius xm radio but No one would give it to me. Seriously. I know it doesn't cost them any money to give a few months free of xm radio. Hard pressed. Daniel Gowa talked to me online he was helpful but I ended up working with Michael. So I signed the papers. It was getting late and dark out. I have a 18 month old and she was ready to go. My ride down was outside keeping her occupied. They parked another vehicle behind mine and couldn't find the keys to it. Seriously. the sign says purchased car parking only. At least give more room. So I made Michael back my car out around the other car. First time I purchased a vehicle from a dealer. At least they were nice guys.

After a long and involved email and phone discussion with Krystal Morgan, Curt Miller and finally Shane Riveras we arrived at a price for a year end model of 2015 Honda CRV EX-L. Curt sent us an "out the door" price including tax and license and told us everything was included. I explained we were an older retired couple and didn't want to make the long journey to the dealership if there was not a true deal. Curt reassured me he has been a car salesman since 1979 and would never steer me wrong. HMMExcept he was going on vacation so he would personally choose a sales rep to take care of us. Shane Riveras was given all the details and said he would be ready to accept our check to purchase the car. After we arrived, we were put in a back office where the Sales Manager Jasmin Bajromovic said that he couldn't "Sugar coat the fact that our price in writing" was not what he could sell the car for. He said that the destination fee had been omitted and we would have to pay $895 additional. Then Shane Riveras called us at home after we had journeyed 200 miles each way to tell us that if we could just pay that extra $895 we could have the car.

I would like to preface this review by saying that my cousin bought a brand new odessy elite here, my sister bought a used odessy exl at hansel sr, and my girl bought a used piolt exl at hansel sr (all within 3 months) and their experience was great. No complaints there. If i ended up purchasing my vehicle there, that would have made it 4 cars in 3 months that we purchased from hansel group for a total of $130,000... not too shabby right? Take care of the repeat customer right? Nope... thats not what happened.I've been searching the web and talking to dealerships for months in search for my next new car. My top choice was the 2015 honda accord exl v6. The best quote i could get was from honda vallejo (email advertised). The vallejo price was excellent.. so i decided i would go to hansel to see if they could beat the quote (or even match it) because my whole family went there to pick up their new rides... i figured, why not bring my business there as well. I did all my research, got a auto loan pre approval, found the price i wanted, then contacted hansel honda to see if they could work with me on price. I forwarded the email to sales and they said that they could "definitely" beat it. So i went on in. Im going to summarize what happened next: they pulled my credit without me wanting them to (they said i was only filling out the form to show good faith), wasted an hour and a half of my time doing the "i need to check with my sales manager" routine, and ended up telling me that they could only match the price without destination charges ($820).. and that the price i was quoted from vallejo also did not include destination charges. I told them that it did, and I'm positive of it...they replied that it was impossible that was the case. They then tried the old school negotiating tactics on me (utilizing 4 square).. but i told them that i was only there to discuss price because i had everything else worked out already. After a couple of more attempts to discuss other things than price.. they said they cant do the price i was asking. I left soon after.... thoroughly upset because:-i went there under the pretenses that they would be able to beat my quote. Not only could they not beat it... they couldn't even (more likely: didn't want to) match it. AND their argument was that it was "impossible" that my quote included destination fees (i checked.. it did).-they wasted my time trying to sell me when they apparently did not ever want to sell me the vehicle at the price i wanted (that another dealer was willing to sell at in writing).-i was lied to: they lied that they could beat my quoted price just to get me in... then fed me some bs about what fees the price did not include. Also, they ran my credit without my permission... they just wanted to use it as leverage for negotiations. -they totally insulted my intelligence with this whole situation... i think they didn't give me the price simply because they didnt want to. $820 isn't going to break theirs or my bank.. they just wanted to be xxxxxx.. or, they were testing out the sales person (who was new) to see how he would do.. they could have even been observing it all from afar to evaluate his sales technique. I took a course in negotiations... so it was totally obvious to me what they were doing as they were doing it.Im not mad at the sales guy.. he was nice.... but it was obvious that he had no say in anything, he was just doing as he was instructed to do...im thinking that the sales manager is the one who made this whole situation an ordeal for me. What a load of BS i was being fed!!!Anyway.. i drove to manly honda straight after and got a deal done in 5 minutes. .. i didn't bother trying to get them to beat vallejos price... i was too tired of all the bs... but they said they would match it with little hesitation or negotiation. They were also able to beat my preapproved loan rate. Such a big difference between the two dealers... night and day.1 star is about right. ... only because hansel honda treated my cousin right when he bought his new odessy elite.Sorry if this was choppy and for spelling/grammar errors... i wrote this all up on my phone.

Scot Cohen is an extraordinary salesman. He is honest, patient and a good listener. He convinced me throughout the process that he was interested in making a deal that was in my best interest and there was no pressure at any time to make a decision about a purchase of the car in the immediate. His ability to educate actually broadened my perspective and I feel I am coming away with a better deal than what I had hoped or anticipated. For example, I had come in to check out 2015 Honda Accords and he was the one who introduced me to previously leased cars at a substantial discount! As it was, I upgraded my initial selection; received an exceptional deal. Most importantly, purchasing the car was fun! It was a transparent conversation like you would have with a friend who has your best interests at heart. The complete opposite of the treatment I received at Manley! Very classy, sophisticated operation. I am leaving impressed and excited to have the "right" car for the right price!!

I was ready to trade in my beloved Z4 for something newer, a little more practical, but still wanted style and street cred. Salesman Scott Cohen and Hansel Honda guided me on my journey to find the perfect new car for me. He really listened to what I was saying, shopped all over the Hansel family of dealers with me and even test parked a car in my garage to see if it fit! So happy to be driving out of the lot with a gently used Mercedes C Class sport. Authentic, real, understanding and super knowledgeable about many brands, is how I would sum up Scott. Excellent experience and highly recommended!!!!!!

The sales person who helped me at Hansel Honda, Scott Cohen, facilitated a smooth and painless experience in car-buying. He listened very well and acted on what he heard me say. He also did well at picking up non-verbal cues and at feeding back his impressions of what I wanted and didn't want with accuracy, checking things out as we went and responding appropriately. He has a natural presence that is calming and friendly. I appreciated his honesty and candor - something one cannot fake. Scott was patient, allowing me to change my mind or express my concerns about money etc., with no judgement. He never pressured me. At the end of our negotiations I felt happy with my choice of car and with the financial aspects but more than that, I felt that I had been served well. I would like to compliment Ryan Seaman and Joseph Lambert. They were both courteous and helpful in making the whole thing work smoothly.

Les was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. We went in to check out a used Honda Element which he helped us with but we decided, since that car had somewhat of a bad reputation for being baby-car-seat unfriendly, to look into other options at a later date.We both felt that Les was a refreshingly down-to-earth, honest (and non-pushy) salesman and we wanted to go back to him specifically if we decided to get a new Honda in the near-future.Lots of research convinced us that the Honda CR-V is pretty much THE family car to get in the $25-30k range, so we went back to purchase an EX-L from Les and we were again rewarded with excellent service which then transitioned into an excellent car-buying experience. The next level of sales (the lengthy extended warranties part) was a little off-putting, but I understand that new car sales by themselves don't make a lot of profit and this is just a necessary part of the business. We politely declined all the extra warranties and the friendly salesman (we forget his name) was pretty quick to realize that we weren't going to bite, and thankfully he didn't push us much more after that. The post-sales follow up emails with genuinely good-sounding offers were another nice touch. We'll definitely recommend Hansel Honda to any/all friends that we hear of shopping for a new or used Honda.

I have been shopping for a new car for over a month now. I test drove so many different cars, but I really wanted a Honda Pilot. It was very important that my payments stay within a certain amount, and Dan Thompson made sure that it happened. I got the SUV that I wanted, and the process was painless. I have leased/bought many different cars before, and I can honestly say that my experience at Hansel Honda was beyond superb. Everybody was extremely helpful, and I am definitely recommending this dealership to all of my clients and friends.

Last week, my Mother's 09 Honda Element developed a pin-hole leak in the radiator. I suggested she take it to the Hansel to get it replaced and she did. The work was fine, however the issue was the price. While not ridiculous, $279 for labor seemed high - even for a dealer. I expect to pay more from a dealer. I expect the factory parts and quality service that goes along with it. What I don't expect are lame excuses. But that's exactly what I got when I called and asked for the service manager (Dave) to explain why the labor charge seemed a bit higher than what I would have expected. Now, I'm relatively reasonable and was simply looking for an explanation of the charges. But as soon as I asked this, he got on the defensive, and never let up.A good service manager is trained in customer service. Dave was trained in excuses. Wouldn't even let me get in a word in edgewise and became rather rude rather quickly.I wasn't upset when I called. Not at all. Mostly curious. But Dave did his best to change that. I got quotes from 2 other Honda dealers, both claimed it was a 1.5 hr job to replace the radiator for this exact model. Hansel charged 2.4 hrs labor. Dave claimed this was for diagnostics. The car was brought in with the simple instruction. Replace the radiator. No diagnosis needed. When I called Dave, all I was looking for was perhaps a small discount. What I got instead was excuses and I guy who wouldn't listen for more than 2 seconds. He kept repeating, "Well, you've already made up your mind that you were over charged, so there's nothing I can do"But it wasn't. I didn't make up my mind until he convinced me.I was overcharged. Therefore, I would recommend shopping other Honda dealers for factory service before I ended up at Hansel.

I was told that they would match my quote from another dealer if I showed them it in print (I already told them the price), but refused to do so when I DID show them the quote. If you can't match the price, just be clear, don't waste my time!

I bought my first new car - 2009 Honda Civic in Sept. 2008. Salesman (Jasmin) was wonderful. No pressure, very professional. Finance Manager (forgot his name) was fantastic! Worked with me on financing with so-so credit and very minimal down payment. APR was surprisingly low. Jasmin keeps in touch periodically to see if I need anything. Oil changes, etc. are handled by Regan and his crew. They treat me like royalty - also very professional. Brenda (in parts) is wonderful to work with for things I need for my 88 Prelude and 87 Accord. Needless to say I'm a Honda fanatic and a Hansel Honda fan! Thanks guys - you're the best!!

This Honda dealer, like the previous Honda dealer I worked with, use the deceptive business practice of giving you a dollar amount for your trade in, and neglecting to tell you that this is the amount with "tax savings".What this meant is I was told $13K for my car, which was bluebook for my condition. I was satisifed. When it came time to sign the papers the trade in was $12,500.I had to have a big argument to get an extra $500.My last deal in Illinois, I specifically said, you are giving me XYZ dollars for my trade-in, correct? They said YES, only to have the same experience. So, even if they write it down and tell you the trade in value, it is NOT what they are giving you for the car.

Bought a new Fit form Dan in July 08 through the Costco Auto buyers program. Dan was very busy and we ended up waiting in a holding pattern in the lounge. Absolutely no customer appreciation offered... Basically go sit over there and wait for finance. I realized there's not much profit incentive for the Fit, so, it didn't matter too much. Much later during the visit to the finance manager things started to go south fast. I had chosen the Costco program for haggle free shopping. This was not a haggle free experience. The usual scare tactics were employed. The usual add ons were feverishly pitched. This led to the final straw (the optional alarm). I was told by Dan, that the vehicle was equipped with only a keyless entry and not an alarm. I had thought that the vehicle came with a factory installed alarm system. Dan was certain, so, I reluctantly agreed to have the Karr alarm system added at delivery. To make matters worse, unbeknownst to me the finance manager financed me under the cuddle system even though I told her multiple times from the start that I was pre financed. Each time I questioned as to her understanding of my existing financing, she claimed to be checking on my loan status. I found out about her scam only after the fact upon visiting my CU to make loan arrangements. My original loan had been replaced with another via cuddle. I would never had know if it wasn't for the CU representative pointing out the fact. No money loss to me it just meant the dealer was cut in on the financing. Another act of unprofessionalism in my book. When I took delivery of car I was told to set up an appointment to install the Karr alarm. Within a couple of days my daughter set off the standard alarm that the vehicle was equipped with all along. I immediately contacted my salesman, Dan Thompson, and he said that he would see to it that my optional alarm money be refunded. To this day I have not received a refund. I have contacted the dealership numerous times. I have also contacted Costco advocacy numerous times. Costco has contacted the dealership several times on my behalf. They all tell me they just cant understand why I haven't received my refund. All parties are adamant that this is just an isolated incident. The paperwork is in and its up to the finance manager now. How does a business that acts this way towards customers continue to exist? Please don't give Hansel your patronage. I hope others share their experiences for others to earn from.

I bought a used Honda Accord with 179,000 miles on it, and the very next day, the car blew a radiator hose in Rohnert Park. I called the Hansel Honda Service Department and talked to Luke. He arranged for a tow truck to bring me and the car down to Petaluma and then set me up with a service loaner car when he realized that he would have the car for a few days. Luke recommended replacing all of the hoses (as they all looked as if they had never been changed. In addition, I had the timing belt done and a valve job done. The car was returned to me in tip-top shape. I have driven it over a week and it purrs like a kitten. I expect this car to last another 100.000 miles knowing that all of my servicing will be done at Hansel Honda.

I am satisfied with my deal I got from Hansel Honda & am surprised at the negative comments posted in 2004. Maybe sales has changed since then, but I leased a 2007 CRV & am more than pleased with my purchase. I love, love, love my new car for too many reasons to describe here & I was able to get a great deal on my financing, only $1200 down on a 36 month lease. I also purchased my previous car at Hansel Honda ( a pre-owned Acura Integra - never a problem with that car either). All in all, I am so happy with the dealership, I will certainly return there for my next car too.PS the guy who had the rat problem should know that there isn't a warranty exists for any product that would cover damage done by rodents. Hire an exterminator! And who would want to drive a car that has been deemed "unsafe" to drive anyway?

After agreeing to purchase a new Honda Accord Hybrid V6, the saleman at Hansel Honda in Petaluma, California ushered me into a room with another saleman, who proceeed then to high-pressure me into purchasing their "extended warranty." Despite my initial misgivings, I finally agreed to buy the warranty after the salisman said, "This is a great warranty - it will cover all mechanical repairs to the car, without exception. If anything goes wrong, anything at all, you just bring the car in, and we fix it, that's that."About a month later, my power steering went out. When I brought the car back to Hansel Honda for repairs, I was told that the repair would not be covered by the extended warranty because a rodent had chewed through the wiring, and since this was not considered a defect, but an "outside event" (in the words of the service advisor), I would have to pay as much as $2,000 in repair costs myself! NO PART of the repair work would be covered by any warranty, initial or extended.I explained that the the extended warranty (as represented to me by their saleman) was supposed to cover all mechanical repairs without exception. The response of the service advisor was simply, no, Honda would not honor the warranty, tough luck for me. Furthermore, the car was now "unsafe to drive in its present condition so these repairs were required." (Words of the Service Advisor again.)PLEASE, everybody, steer clear of Honda's extended warranty. DO NOT let a salesman high-pressure you into purchasing it, and avoid doing business with Hansel Honda in Petaluma. FRANKLY, THEY ARE LIARS. IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT. Thank you for letting me vent, and feel free to distribute this email to everyone you know, especially those who are interested in buying a new car, and especially anyone who is considering the purchase of a Honda. They defrauded me - don't let them defraud you.The extended warranty added six extra months of payments to the car (at nearly $500 a month), and after only one month of driving, I now find myself forced to pay significant additional money to return the car to a drivable state.I am out as much as $2,000 in repair costs plus the extra payments I must make to cover the price of an expensive extended "warranty," which I now find is essentially worthless.I feel I have been defrauded by Hansel Honda in Petaluma, California.

at first it was a good experience then 3 days later I get a call and my financing didnt go through. we were mislead on sunday to believe we already had financing. we initially had $1500. to put down later he came back and said "THE BANK needs you to put $2500. down" I actually upgraded my insurance in the office on skyes computer because I only had liability insurance on the vehicle we came in. had we known that we didnt have a lender we wouldnt have wasted our time on a nice sunday afternoon. the only person i talked to after that was nice to us is lynne pedsta, she was so considerate and compassionate. she helped make me feel better. I know my credit is bad due to a very nasty divorce but it doesnt mean i am a bad person. i make a decent amount of money and was actually willing to pay the god awful apr of 21% interest you tacked on to get my credit on the positve. i do have a very qualified cosigner but will take my business somewhere else along with my bitterness towards HANSE HONDA!!
