In searching for a Rav4 with the exact features I wanted (without paying an exorbitant price), I found a listing at Joe Machens. However, I live in St. Louis. A 2+ hour drive added to the stress of car shopping and negotiation sounded like, well, xxxx...but the price was good enough (about $2K below the average listing I was finding in STL for the same flipping car) that I called to see if there was a catch. And I'm pretty happy I called!I got Zach Hardin on the phone who checked the original vehicle I called about, 2 other vehicles matching my description that they also had, and 2 other vehicles on another lot across town! I explained I didn't want to make a futile drive and was on a time constraint, so he had the cars collected & brought to his lot where they waited, keys in ignition, when I arrived.It's an unfortunate experience as a woman that you get talked down to a lot when car shopping. While I don't have a problem listening to someone with more expertise in a field than I have, I'm research-oriented and know my exact likes & dislikes...and don't need to be sold on extra touted features. I never felt any of this with Zach. He was honest, treated me as a peer, answered every question I had with the in-depth detail I was looking for, and even found a flaw (for me) in the car I originally came to view! I ended up loving one of the other cars Zach had gathered for me (and bought it). And it turns out Joe Machens is an USAA (military) approved dealership so I got a USAA discount added in at the end as well!All around fantastic experience. I love my car, so hopefully won't be shopping for another for a bit but, if I do, I'm looking for Zach. (If you read this - Thanks, Zach!!!)

My experience with Joe Machens Jeep. Last year I saw the Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice package come into the market. I made inquiries online with JMJ and got a quick response from one of the Sales Advisors (will not mention name as it does not impact the entire team). I spoke with the Advisor on the phone and told him my background information and the response I received was just come in. So I did, I again laid it all on the table again. After approximately 3 hours my wife and I started to walk out and the advisor asked where we were going. I explained and the response was we cant do a deal anyways.Thursday July 28th, 2016 I was checking the Joe Machens website and saw that they had the Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice package again. So, again I inquired online about the vehicle. I received an email from the same Advisor as before and another Advisor. I chose to go with the other advisor Glenn Patterson. Friday July 29th, 2016 Glenn had called and left a message on my machine which was professional and detailed. I called Glenn back and explained to him my situation. Glenn was upfront with me but said he will work hard to get a deal done for me and to come in when I was available.I arrived at JMJ at 1:00PM and met with Glenn and he was very professional and courteous. We spoke about our situation and Glen said he will work hard for me and he did. He not only worked hard for me, he worked hard for another customer too. Glenn pushed for a deal that would be as close to my request as possible. Glenn acted as my representative towards JMJ for the best deal possible. After all of Glenns hard work, he introduced me to Heath Connell, Business Manager. Heath told me that he had worked really hard on my deal with Glenn and was only able to come up with one resolve. Heath explained in detail why that was the only deal he could do and did not pressure me at all to make the deal but showed me more positives than the negatives. I chose to accept the deal even though it was not 100% what I was hoping for financially but Heath assured me that JMJ will stand by their customers and he can help me in the future. I drove away in the vehicle I was waiting for almost a year. All thanks to Glenn Patterson and Heath Connell!!!!!I want to thank Glenn Patterson and Heath Connell for making my bad experience in the past as if it never happened!!!!! They both were professional, courteous, honest, knowledgeable, and respectful!!!!! I will continue to do business with Joe Machens Jeep for as long as I can. I also want to say that Glenn and Heath are examples of what team work is and the entire team should not be rejected from one bad experience. Thanks Guys!!!!!

I worked with Orion Ferreira at Joe Machens in buying my first Jeep about a month ago and was very impressed! I was intimidated at first admittedly, as Jeeps have such a solid reputation but also often seem to come with a high price point. But Orion clearly did his research and was able to not only find a newer Jeep than what I had originally expected to purchase (a 2012 Compass when I had been looking at Patriots from around 2008-2009) but also found me one with 4x4 and extra features all at my required price point! The sales process was painless, my trade in was handled well, and a minor problem with the car was fixed quickly prior to me taking the vehicle. All in all, I can give only the highest recommendation to the Joe Machens staff, and particularly to Orion whose attention to my needs, exceptional attitude, and eagerness to address concerns would definitely bring me back to Machens in the future. I would not recommend using this dealership. Horrible customer service it took 2 tries to not fix something. They also left the front bumper not securely fastened to the frame causing me to get a flat tire wanted nothing to do with fixing it and acted like I was a complete pain in their rear. No good words for this dealer.

This is the only Jeep dealership in the area, so I am forced to take my Jeep here for service. And so far, I am very happy - knowledgeable, friendly people, reasonable rates, and they have what's needed. In terms of parts or service, I would recommend this dealership easily.The sales department, though......if what my daughter and I went through is a fair representation, I wouldn't go near this place with a ten-foot pole. My daughter was in town and wanted to drive some vehicles to make a better choice when she buys a car in the near future. I've been in the dealership enough times, and I figured this would be relatively easy. Also, we had just come from another Machens dealership (Machens Mitsu/Mazda/Fiat) where we had a wonderful experiences.First of all, it was HOT. And I can understand if sales people don't want to wait outside. We pulled up, got out of the car, and looked around. No one around. So we went in and looked for a salesperson. We were never greeted, and apparently we had taken our invisible pills - even while walking around the sales area, no one asked if we needed anything. So, we went out and started looking at a 2013 Dodge Dart Rallye, parked in the front row, in plain sight of the building. It was open, so we started crawling all over it (in the searing heat) as I showed her all the features, including under the hood and the trunk. A couple of times I looked at the dealership window (where a yellow Viper is in display under its own room) and waved my arms frantically for someone, anyone, to come out and help us. When no one did, we went in the sales door, and Louis Finigan came up to us (never introduced himself; the only way I know his name is that your website includes pictures) and asked if we needed help. I said, "Yes; we'd like to test drive a car!" He said that he'd get a sales person, and in a few minutes came back with Ed Still in tow. He did introduce himself (and shook hands, something Louis didn't do), and asked us to follow us to his cubicle. He pulled out chairs, we sat down, and he said, "So, you're wanting to drive a car - a minivan?" We both found that VERY offputting - just because you're dealing with a young woman in a sundress, don't expect her to need a minivan! Strike one.He then started asking for information. We explained why we were there, and made it clear that we were not purchasing anything that day - we were there so my daughter could test-drive a car. He asked her for her phone number, and when she said she was not comfortable giving that out, he said that it was company policy that they needed a phone number and email address for a test drive. We could look at cars without it, but would not drive a car unless that information was given.REALLY? We just went to another dealership IN THE MACHENS FAMILY and were never asked for that information until AFTER the test drive! STRIKE TWO. She furnished her mother's home phone number.We told him what car we were looking at, and he said he would get the keys and bring it to the door, even after we said it was right in front of the dealership. After about ten minutes, we went outside, in the heat, to look for Ed. He had passed the car, and apparently didn't have the right key. So it was time for him to play the "use the panic button as a locator" game. We finally heard it down the hill. He turned to us and said, "Well, that one's buried. I'll go get a key for another one. Come on back in." Really, Ed? You don't know your inventory enough that you have to search around with the panic button on a key fob? I even showed him which car we wanted to look at. That apparently had no meaning to him - he could have written down the VIN and got the key from that. But apparently Ed doesn't work that way. There was no way I was going to back in the dealership and have someone who obviously didn't give a xxxx waste my time, and especially my daughter's. Just because you aren't going to make a sale today doesn't mean you have to treat us badly.STRIKE THREE. YOU'RE OUTA HERE.And after ten more minutes, waiting outside for Ed, so were we. As we walked over to our car, I noticed three salespeople - including Louis Finigan- gathered around a golf cart. As I drove off, I rolled down the window and said, "Please tell Ed we left." Louis responded by saying, "NO PROBLEM!"I'll go back there for service. Buying a car? I'm going somewhere else.

We recently purchased a 2015 jeep unlimited rubicon. Everyone that we dealt with were friendly, workable and accommodating. There was a little lack of communication between dealerships as we didn't receive our jeep Monday as expected! However it was delivered to our home the following day!!! I purchased a new 2014 RAM 1500 Quad Cab on 10/25/2014. My salesman was Derek Estes; however when I arrived Derek was with another customer so I met with Chad and then some Manager person. Then Derek joined us after the deal was finished. When my truck was brought around it had some body damage which I was assured would be fixed. Also, I had some extra accessories put on (had to be ordered); I was at the dealership for over 6 hours, I was ready to take my truk home. The next my husband and I got in our new truck and discovered the passenger seat wad stuck and wouldn't move. I called JMD, Derek first thing 10/27/2024; he assured ne everything would be fixed. I took my truck back on 11/11/2014 to have repairs to body fixed and accessories installed. Derek had Jamie give me a new loaner RAM to drive. After more than 2 weeks everything was done and installed to my satisfaction due to Derek.

On a rainy Satuday stopped by Joe Machens Dodge trucks to check out the new 2014 trucks. Met Dakota and he helped us then pulling trucks up for us to check out, etc. we left without purchasing. Over the next several months Dakota would call and check to see how we were and if we were still intersted in a truck. He was such a personalable young man that we knew when we were ready to purchase it would have to be from Dakota. Upon seeing a truck that we were intersted in and visiting with Dakota - he worked tirelessly in obtaining a satisfactory deal on the truck.

We had a rollover accident two weeks before we went car shopping at Joe Machens. When we got there, Derek came out and immediately asked if I wanted to drive the one I was looking at. He did not pressure us, just listened very compassionately to my needs (safety). Even though the floor manager tried to pressure us into buying a different vehicle, Derek listened to us and we were able to come to an agreement on the one we wanted. We had a great experience at Machens Chrysler last weekend! My wife and I, along with my Sister, her husband and my parents, all purchased Chrysler T&Cs (3 total). Living over 100 miles from the dealership like we do could pose a problem for some places, but not for the Machens team. We communicated with Mark and Chivonne over the phone about the van we were looking for, and they located one right away with the exact options we were looking for. Once we decided to purchase, we drove up Friday with my sister to pick up our vehicles. I work in customer service and I despise being that guy who comes in right at close to do major business. In spite of our best efforts, due to a serious traffic jam we were running late. Again, no problem to the Machens team. They had our vans detailed and ready to roll as soon as we hit the door. We saw Greg in Finance and he had us all ready to go as well. Everyone was so kind and courteous to us! We knew we had made the right choice going with Machens. I live in a town where there are two Chrysler dealers within 15 miles of me one less than 2 miles away but I will make the drive to Machens because I know I will be treated kindly and I will deal with honest people. Make the drive to Machensits worth it!

We had such a wonderful experience! Our good family friend, Mark Winstead made deal happen! Our family, my parents, and brother & wife all purchased a new 2015 Chrysler Town & Country minivan over the weekend from Machens. The whole team at Machens was so friendly and made us comfortable. We had our oldest son (age 6) with us. They got him a soda and he was thrilled! They had the vehicle we wanted all ready for us, sight unseen! Due to the distance between our home and the dealership (about 2 hours) we talked over the phone with Chivonne and they had exactly what we wanted! We got in at nearly closing time on Friday 11/14, but they still made us feel welcome and not a bit rushed. Greg was also so friendly. When we need a new vehicle I have no doubt that we will make the trip to Machens! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Dan Komo readily helped us quickly after I ended up in a car accident. He showed urgency and got us everything we needed. I give Dan Komo 5 stars because of his sense of direction and urgency. So far I love the car. I hope it lasts a long while!

Let's be honest, when I walked into Joe Machens I had no clue what I was doing. Chad Pitts patiently walked me through the buying process, helping me sift through tons of car choices, offering insight as I test drove 7 different cars over two different days, and making the process incredibly simple. He treated me like an adult as I made my first car purchase, and I can't sing his or Joe Machens Dealership's praises enough. I love my Jeep and I am consistently getting compliments on it. I fell in love with my vehicle and I am very pleased with my choice, but I couldn't have made it without Chad's help. In fact, my dad claims that for his next car purchase he's driving up to Columbia from St. Louis to work with Joe Machens again!

I get anxiety going into dealerships and dealing with purchases of this size but Adam made it comfortable and I knew the whole time he was looking to make sure I got the car that best fit my needs not just my wants and his pocket.... Good person, not just salesman.

Dan led me through the whole car buying experience. I really appreciated all his advice as this was my first car buying experience. The facility was really nice, and my salesman, Dan Komo was really helpful throughout the whole buying process. I could tell he really wanted to find the right fit for me, and wasn't overly focused on making the highest commission possible as salesmen often do. He wasn't pushing me to make a decision and asked several times what it was that I wanted to do. The environment was very relaxed, and I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. Any questions I had, Dan was able to answer and he was very communicative throughout. I would highly recommend this dealership and specifically talking to Dan. Greg was also very friendly and sped me through the financing process.
