1.0 star rating 11/7/2016Drove 45 minutes to test drive a car advertised on their website at a phenomenal price. To our shock, the sales rep quoted a price $3,000 higher than what was on the website the night before. When questioned, he admitted online prices had gone up that morning due to Hurricane Matthew. He said auction vehicles were anticipated to increase due to rental companies holding onto them longer, thus creating a supply vs demand situation.Despite this perceived attempt at price gouging, we liked the car and moved into negotiations. We left after only a separation of a few hundred dollars and due to the treatment of our sales rep. He was repeatedly condescending and meeting our remarks with a level of passive aggressiveness that was off putting.We were told our offer wasn't going to be taken "to the tower" for manager review because it would be denied. So, we left with the understanding if the price dropped, I'd return. Less than a week later, our rep called asking to reopen negotiations and we had a deal. I was told paperwork would be ready and financing set the next day. I arrived as scheduled and proceeded to wait 1.5 hours in the dealership lobby, check in hand. I approached my sales rep to inquire about the delay. Without even looking up, he told me to "speak to the lady in the tower" and pointed over his shoulder. Off I went and found that finance had my paperwork ready.After signing, my rep met me in the lobby with the set of keys and said "We've kept you long enough. Here's the keys. Your car is parked over there." Again, he points over his shoulder to the parking lot. Not once did I receive a handshake from him or a "Thank You" for your business. I was left to go over my car alone, without assistance . The car was missing floor mats but I was too upset at this point to go back inside and bother him any further. I contacted the General Manager the next business day and received a response via email that he would be in touch soon after researching my complained. . That was on Oct. 24 and he still hasn't responded. Not impressed with their customer service skills.

My wife and I lost a car along with a lot of other positions, including our house during hurricane Mathew. For the first time in three weeks we had a chance to look for another vehicle. We were going to the Ford dealer down the street and at the last minute pulled in to JH just to look at their used cars. That's when we met Brian. He did an excellent job from the time we pulled on the lot until we left with out new Chevy Trax! Brian, Tonya, Jacob and Bri'anna were all very professional and also very pleasant. They made buying a car easy. Our first John Hiester experience has been AWESOME and their team of experts were our angels in time of need. Thank You from Clark and Denise for a great experience. I've wanted to say this all afternoon... WE GOT OFF OUR KIESTER AND WENT TO HIESTER!!!

I bought my 2014 Impala in February of this year. Scott was the salesman I worked with. He was very helpful and his mannerism was one of the reasons I bought my car from John Hiester Chevrolet in Fuquay-Varina, NC. I took my car in to get it serviced and to my pleasure, Scott is now in the service department. He was just as friendly and helpful as he was when I bought my Impala. The service was outstanding. I needed the air filter and inside air filter replaced. Scott showed them to me and asked if I wanted them replaced. He put no pressure on me to replace them. I asked for his advice and he said it would not hurt to replace them both. After looking at them again, I decided to replace them. This is the type of service I appreciate. No pressure to buy anything, but a willingness to help. I will definitely continue purchasing cars from John Hiester and getting all of the service done on them at John Hiester. THANK YOU for such a warm and friendly dealership!

Fernando worked with me through every step of the process. Letting me test drive several vehicles and even let me take one for a whole day! There was no pressure in the negotiations. He laid out three options for me to consider and I chose the one I wanted. When it came time sign the paperwork, they had it all ready when I arrived. Dan explained everything throughly and I was on my way home in about one hour.

I am in the market for a Jeep Wrangler. JH has one the lot that they were kind enough to bring down to Fort Bragg for me to test drive. After test driving the vehicle I identified several issues to the online sales rep (Brittany) then the sales manager (Ron). Spoke with the sales manager and he was unwilling to correct or even look at some of the identified safety concerns (wobble at 55+ and lots of play in the steering wheel). Reason Ron gave for not addressing the issues was that the price was already too low to justify them servicing the vehicle. After being given that response twice I backed out of the deal. Funny thing is I never even attempted to negotiate the price, he was just willing to sell it to someone who was willing to overlook what I considered safety concerns. IMO that is not a good business practice. JH will not be getting my business and I will ensure to pass the word along to other friends in the market for a vehicle. Everyone I dealt with, to include the delivery driver, was pleasant to deal with. Seem like nice enough people it is a shame they were not willing to address my concerns. Buyer beware!

The whole experience was very easy and pleasant from start to finish. I sent a email to the dealership on a Sunday night and got a response back right away the following morning from Lindsay Simon letting me know the truck I was inquiring about was still available. Lindsay offered to hold the vehicle so my wife and I could come look at it one day that week. The communication was excellent. Prior to going to the dealership I already secured my financing from my credit union so I knew I had money to buy the vehicle before I went , but will I get the price I wanted was the question.We made it to the dealership about 6 o'clock on Thursday night and was greeted by the salesman Fernando Alvarado who was soft spoken and kind and very understanding. I explained to him we had a truck on hold we would like to look at and that we were already qualified for financing but we're not in a hurry to purchase unless we found the right vehicle for the right price. He brought the truck around to the front so my family and I can look at it. When we went to see the truck it was clean and even the tires hard tire shine on it . Very good touch. The truck was running with the ac on so we can explore all the features and not get all hot and uncomfortable l. Right off the bat we knew this was a great truck and we feel in love with it . But my wife wanted to look at other models just I case. The truck we were looking at was a double can and she wanted to see the size difference in the crew cab. Fernando was more the happy to show my wife a few other trucks before allowing us to take the truck we had on hold for a test drive. The family and I took the truck out for a spin for about 15-20 minutes to get a feel for it since neither one of us have owned a truck before and the 2015 Silverado is no small vehicle .Once we got back it was time to talk numbers . Fernando was very nice explaining everything to us about the price of the vehicle he even showed us the car fax. I explained to him that I had a offer in my head that if he could meet I would buy it right then and there. At first he said he didn't think it could be done ( typical car sales man tactic ) I'm a salesmen my self so I understand . He came back after talking to the finance guys in the back and said he would meet me in the middle. I explained to him that my offer was my offer and that I know he wouldn't want to lose the sale for the small amount I was asking . He went back and talked to the finance guys again and came back with my offer accepted. Super easy. I signed all the paper work right then and there. Next we spoke with the business manger names Dan Burnham who was also well spoken and pleasant . Keep in mind it is now 8 o'clock and there officially closed. Never at any point did he make us feel rushed at all. Dan answered all our questions about the warranty and gap coverages and spent about 40-45 mins with us before everything was complete. When we came back out of the office the truck was fully gased up and sitting out front waiting for us. Before we left Fernando offered to take a photo of my family and I in front of our new truck. So from start to finish a super easy enjoyable process. I would highly recommend this dealership. Everyone from the receptionist to the managers were all helpful and smiling the whole time we were there. If your in the market for a new or used Chevy and can get to this dealership I do suggest you give them a shot

Recently visited this dealership to view a used Ford Explorer I've been watching online for awhile. I notified the dealership by email I would be coming up to look at the vehicle, Lindsey replied quickly and said she would put the vehicle on hold for me, which was very nice of her to do that, a recent dealership actually refused to that for me. Erik greeted me at the door when I arrived and quickly got me squared away to go look at the Explorer. Erik, answered all my questions that I had and was extremely friendly the entire time. Unfortunately I did not purchase the explorer, numbers I had been working at home, didn't work with the ones they provided and put me out of my budget, which is bound to happen sometimes and I don't count that against the dealership. When I walked away, got to meet one of the sales managers, definitely told me to keep eye on the explorer in case they go down in price again, which I liked that. In past couple of times I've walked during this process(other dealership0, they'll try to get you to look at lower price models or something else entirely, so they get 5 out of 5 for not doing that. Check this place out, huge selection of inventory, staff is professional and very friendly!

I was greeted by Holly, who is always friendly and smiling. She asked if I needed my vehicle at a specific time and I told her I would pick it up after work. Once I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I was informed that the keys were waiting at the cashier's window. I was escorted by the Service Manager and he informed me that he appreciated my business. Dealer messed up our loan paperwork. Failed to send in our payoff on trade in for over 30 days. registered vehicle in wrong county. Opened an account at a bank in my name without permission. Truck had to have wheel bearing replaced 3 days after purchased. NEVER should have passed inspection!THEN they billed me $210 with no explanation. Just a blank bill stating I was past due! I didnt even do my loan with them!

Our car was taken for an oil change and tire rotation. Also, to look at why the check engine light was coming on. Your staff was very kind, supportive, and made my father (91 yrs. old) feel secure that he wasn't going to be over charged. Your staff explained everything they did, in detail, so he could understand it. He was also reminded that he still had some time left on his 2 yr. warranty, and this service was covered under his warranty. He called me when he got home, and he went on and on about the kindness from your staff (office and service dept.), and that he would CONTINUE to take our car for service at John Hiester Chevrolet in Fuquay, NC Thanks for everything.

Dont go to John heister fuquay, they will rip you off. Everytime i go in there they have a huge list of repairs or preventive maintenance that needs to be done. But when I bring it to my dad who owns a repair shop he tells me the complete opposite.Nothing but bad problems everytime I'm in for service, 4+ times. Stay far away from there dealership all together.Even there certified cars are crap and are barley gone through. If you don't believe me check all the other reviews on here of people who bought certified preowned cars through them.They sell cars with no tire tread and that are cracked and dry rotting. Not to mention my rear spoiler was taped on to the back of the car by the dealership and almost flew off on the highway. My heated seats didn't work and the trunk button didn't work. Thankfully the seats and the trunk they covered under warranty. They scratched my painted rims on multiple occasions with there alignment machine and then the last time they decided to try and power wash my wheels which peeled the paint real bad. I bought tires from them, $500 for 2 tires, 3 months ago after less then 10000 miles there telling me I need new ones again because they were over inflated. But they supposedly checked and adjusted the tire pressure every month when I go in for a oil change. But they said it's not there fault and they won't cover anything.Also Come to find out they screwed me on the tires i purchased. According to bfgoodrich the dealership sold me tires with no factory warranty. But for only $30 extra dollars they could have sold me the exact same tire with a 25000 mile warranty.The only decent people there that will help you out in anyway are far and few between. There service manger Phillip is extremely rude and disrespectful. Service advisor Jocelyn and the general manager Ken were the only useful, polite people there. They were the only reason I went to the fuquay location instead of lilllington when I need a oil change or warranty work. But my last visit was the last straw and I will never set foot in the fuquay location, only if I have to will I even go lilllington.I can go on and on about this dealerships terrible service, broken "certified" preowned cars and how they don't stand behind what they sell. If you must go to the dealership go to Leith or Hendrick.

I have bought several new cars from many dealerships in the past. I must say that JH is by far the best dealer experience I have ever had. The service dept really has their stuff together! They are fast, attentive, the shop is SUPER clean EVERY time I come in. And even when I had an emergency issue that needed to be addressed with NO appoint scheduled, they still took me as a walk in, and help me in 20 mins with my problem. They gave me a loaner for the day and I had my truck back with in a couple hours. So far from the buying process 6 months ago until now, they have under promised and over delivered every time. Thank you for setting a new standard in the automotive service industry!!! I do not plan to go anywhere else for anything else in the future.

Went to LOOK at a convertible Camaro in March 2015, and were asked for our licenses. We weren't even going to test drive a car, just looking for fit (my wife is short). Directly told the salesperson "you do not have my permission to run a credit check on either of us." Looked at the car, didn't work out. Not home 30 minutes when the phone is ringing, from the dealer, telling me our "credit is great, when will (we) be back to buy?" I told them, "never"... And told them again the next day when someone else called. I demanded that they destroy/shred/burn anything they had with my information on it.

There are problems that are occurring now which were not when I left it for service. When I picked up my Traverse it felt like I was riding on a fast galloping horse - very bouncy (and still does today, Sunday, October 11th). It was not doing that before I took it in. I called Scott Chapman on Friday to discuss with him and he was supposed to note it in my file. It is also leaking oil now which it was not doing when I took it in. I will be taking it back to the dealership on Monday or Tuesday to have it repaired again and I expect this to be corrected at no charge since it was not doing either of these before it was worked on at John Hiester.

Because one of my tires was too thin to repair, it could not be done, and the staff member who explained that to me was very polite and I was able to understand what was wrong. It's never good when it costs you money, work was done in a good amount of time and cost less than originally quoted. This is only the 2nd Summer I've had this car, since I bought it with 28,000 miles on it but still new in 2013 the warranty was out and was not happy about the serpentine belt having to be replaced already. The purpose to buying a new car was to not have to put any money into it for 3-4 years. I've already had to replace all 4 tires too so the next new car I will put more thought into.

I was invited to the dealership for lunch and to look at a vehicle similar to one that I was interested in. At the dealership, I got to see the vehicle and take it for a test drive. I had several quotes on new 2014s and 2015s from other dealerships, some of which were for the exact (and color) vehicle I was looking for. John Heister Chevrolet did not have the vehicle in the color I wanted, so they offered me an in stock 2015 vehicle for a price close to that of a 2014 vehicle that was the color. After agreeing in the price, they provided me with a dealer plate to use until I obtained full coverage insurance. I am very happy with my experience.

I purchased my truck recently from another dealership. I was determined not to make another purchase from the dealership nearest to me but I wanted to be reasonably close to home. So I began the search for my new truck at Hiester. I was very disappointed to repeatedly be sent to Lillington by first the website and then the salesman with whom I spoke. The experience prevented me from ever visiting the dealership. I am a salesman and I have a habit of referring to the various service departments where I have worked as the sales prevention team. Imagine my surprise when your service department was such a positive.

I was in an auto accident and had to buy a new car while on vacation away from NC. Shopping while away from home was made super easy. I even had fog lights added to the car and were installed by pick up. The one thing that was very upsetting was I had the car for a day when I realized that the steering wheel was unable to be adjusted. I had to bring the car back and come to find out when the fog lights were added they casing was not attached properly causing the issue. It is an hour each way trip for me to get to the dealership and back plus I had to take the afternoon off from work to get this resolved. I was offered nothing for the inconvenience or error on the dealerships part. I would have been happy with a car wash or to have my gas tank topped off.

Be extra careful when making agreements at John Hiester of Fuquay-varina. Get all agreements ON PAPER and do NOT depend on oral agreements alone. Someone I know bought from them under a bad oral agreement and almost went to jail for it. The employees at John Hiester were contacted several times and did nothing to help. They acted as if they wanted my dear friend to go to jail. Luckily my friend did not go to jail afterall......just be cautious if you make any deals with this dealership.

I have been very pleased with the quality of the repairs and the work of the service personnel. Where the service became less that perfect on the last visit relates to the purchase of new tires. One had suffered road damage so two were replaced. I was told that the kind of tire I had on the car was no longer made, so comparable tires were ordered. Whenever I had purchased tires before, from any dealer, I was given warranty information. None was given and when I inquired, none was available. I was finally told that if there was a problem I would have to contact an authorized Michelin dealer ( this information came only after your representative made phone calls. When I asked if the previous tires, purchased from you, still carried any warranty, there were more phone calls and about a half hour wait. I was told that a Michelin representative would come by and look at the tires and then I would be notified. After I got home I called Michelin I had all the information I needed plus a promise to mail me the warranty information in less than 10 minutes. I phoned back and since the agent I had dealt with was busy I gave the information I had received to a receptionist. There was nothing more to be done but I would have expected some kind of a return contact. None came. Your usual car service has been excellent; I expected the same quality when it came to tire purchases

I came in twice in two days. Day one was an oil change and to have a low beam light put in on the driver's side. Day 2 was having a relay replaced for the fuse box. When I got the car back the first time our low beam headlights did not work. The problem was that I did not know this until my wife and I were on our way back from Cheesecake Factory in Raleigh at 9:30pm. I pulled over and used my phone to watch a video on youtube on how to rig the fusebox so that my headlights would come back on. The person said that this problem was common with Trailblazers. I followed his instructions and got the lights to work by switching two fuses out. I brought my SUV in the next day and told the service staff my story. They made it a point to work it in and figure out the problem. There was a bad relay. They were very kind as they gave me $95 off the repair. Everything works great. I really appreciate their concern for my plight and their willingness to fit it in and make it right.

The Service Department was excellent as well as proficient. The temperature was above 95 degrees and my AC was not working. They had it fixed in less than 1 hour and I was ready for a 2 hour road trip that would not have been possible without the prompt repair.

I recently purchased a motorhome with a Chevy 4500 chassis. After taking it on a short trip I realized it needed sway control. Justin Jones, the service advisor at Hiester evaluated the issues and installed a rear sway control bar. The results were very, very good. Much easier to steer at highway speeds with windy conditions and the body sway issues on turns was eliminated.

As I did browse, I was met by a Mr. Joe McKenna, and he was very helpful, with helping make decisions on a possible future purchase. He did not push, he took all my information that I had asked to him to, and he was very professional and friendly. As were ALL the associates in the dealership. My 2007 Cobalt locked up while driving on the highway. I had no control whatever, and shot across the median into oncoming traffic. I have no idea how anyone managed to avoid hitting me or being hit by me. When I contacted Hiester, I was scared just about out of my mind. These people immediately went out of their way for me. A truck was sent to tow my car, a valet car was sent to pick me up and everyone, was very sympathetic to what I'd just been through, which went a long way to helping me regain some composure. I was assured that the car would be repaired ASAP and I was given a beautiful, brand new car to drive in the meantime, with the assurance that there would be no expense to me. They kept their word. Every Heister employee I came in contact with, gave me a little more faith & trust in my fellow man then I had when I went in there. I'm pretty sure that's not in the job description.

I understand the sales pitch and all, but it would have been nice not to waste an hour of my time going back and forth on "what is the best price you can give me?" then having to keep bringing the sales manager in and keep dropping the price 3 more times.I had purchased a bed rug extra, but when I went to pay the counter had moved due to new grand opening. Everybody acted like I was bothering them in helping me find th eright place to pay. Had to go to two different buildings on my own. Could not get nobody to help.

We basically had three people who helped, with Amelia Peasant being the salesperson. She was so kind, so personable, answered all our questions and made us feel comfortable. There was another gentleman who took a special interest. Evidently, he was there on his day off but he didn't act that way. He too was bending over backward to help us and show us things about the Equinox we did not know. We had just had an extremely bad experience at the dealership in Smithfield 1-2 weeks prior and there was so much difference it was hard to believe both dealerships work for the same main company. Our visit to and business with John Hiester Chevrolet was overall the best experience we have had with any dealership. Also, within 5 minutes of Amelia coming to help us, she brought us water. It was a hot day and that was a special touch. She genuinely acted concerned about our welfare. Also the sales manager was extremely pleasant and wanted to do what it took to get our business. You have a well trained group of people and I cannot praise them enough.

The Service Department was super! Not so much the detail job. I bought the car brand new in September. We were to return it the next day for new car detail, after having it all day the car was returned to us with tape on the passenger side window, new tape on some of the dash and console,as well as not having been vacuumed and not very well gone over. You all had us bring it back so you could do it right, after leaving it all day again it was returned to us and it still was not shining like I thought it would be. Then I looked at my invoice and it said "used car" detail. I was just worn out with this so I just put the invoice in my purse and came home. My grandson and his wife both have vehicles from your establishment and while we do like the service department for their courteous and expeditious way they do business we would not recommend a car detailed with you.Thanks, Margaret Brooks

I have been shopping for a few weeks for a used vehicle. I found one at John Hiester in Fuquay that I was interested in. For my first experience with this dealership I called to inquire if the vehicle was still available. I was told that it was and asked if I would like to set up an appointment to see it. I told them I would call back later in the day if I could get off work early to come see it. I called back and told them that I was going to come by and see the vehicle and I was told would set up an appointment with a salesperson and have the vehicle ready when I got there. I drove 45 minutes to the dealership. When I arrived I was told that the owner of the dealership was driving the vehicle I came to see and they were trying to get in touch with him to bring it back. Once they got in touch with him he said it would be 30 to 45 minutes before he could make it to the dealership. After driving 45 minutes to see a vehicle that was not actually there, I was not willing to wait. I was a little put off that they knew I was driving quite a distance to see this vehicle and they didn't bother to call me back to tell me it would be best to reschedule for when the vehicle was actually AVAILABLE for me to see. They then offered to have a salesperson bring the vehicle to me in the next few days so that they could save me the gas from driving back out to the dealership again. I reluctantly agreed and two days later I made an appointment (again) to see the vehicle, but this time they were going to meet me close to where I work. We set up an appointment for them to meet me at a specific location during my lunch break. Well I got there 5 minutes early and proceeded to wait for 30 minutes after the appointment time. Well guess what??? The salesperson never showed up. I even called the mobile number I was given to see if they were lost or something, but no answer... I have to say that this is the worst buying experience I have EVER had in my lifetime. Needless to say I did not buy their vehicle, or even get to see it in person for that matter. John Hiester and his owners/management need to get a clue on how to run a business...

These guys are a joke. They have commercials on the radio claiming that they're number one priority is to get you the best deal on a used car but that was not the case for me. The car I was looking at had a lot of miles on it and they were still trying to sell it at an almost new price. I offered them cash for the car and they turned it down so I went to a private owner and bought the car instead and it had lower miles and all the options I wanted.All these guys at this dealership was trying to do is get the most money possible from selling me the car. The sales manager tried to tell me that I need to keep in mind that they're offering a 100k powertrain warranty in the price of the high price of their used car but I didn't see it that way. They are offering the warranty because they say they offer it, never once said in the commercial that you need to buy it within the price of the vehicle.Moral of the story, they lost a sale and never made the money from me but someone else did. I still got the car I wanted regardless of the hoopla these guys were presenting the day I walked into their dealership.

I cannot say enough about the experience I had at John Hiester Chevrolet-the absolute best and easiest car buying experience I have ever had! My search began online and was drawn to this dealership initially because of competitive internet pricing. I contacted salesman Clark Godwin who thoroughly answered all my questions and made a appointment with me to test drive a car they had available. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted by the receptionist and Clark arrived quickly. The car I was there to see had been moved to the front and looked very clean and attractive. Clark was personable and immediately made me feel very comfortable. He was upfront and honest about the car and pricing. I decided against the first car I drove but Clark was committed to finding just the right car for me. This dealership was about 50 miles from my home, but I felt so comfortable with them that I decided they had earned my business and another trip there would be worth it. I was right, the following day, I purchased the perfect car for me! I was given a fair price for my trade-in, very competitive price for the new car and overall a great deal of respect. I was introduced to the entire service department, general manager, sales manager and even the owner-I really felt my business was appreciated! I didn't purchase a brand new car, use them to secure financing nor would I be using their dealership for service given the distance from my home, but none of those were variables, I was treated as if I were purchasing the most expensive car on the lot. Highly recommend this dealership!

We were buying for my 38 yr old daughter. Who was just comming out of an abusive marriage. Had 4 childern and 1 was autistic. She needed a safe and reliable car to start a new life. I was helped in a timely, polite, and professional manner. Jeff worked with me and listen to what I was interested in instead of pushing a vehicle on me. I would recommend using John Hiester in Fuquay to anyone! I had a great experience purchasing my new truck! Jeff Young was awesome to work with, he is really knowledgeable and friendly. I went to John Hiester Chevy because a friend had a very good experience and reccomended I give them a try and see what was available. The sales associate who assisted me was Stephanie. Stephanie was very friendly from the beginning and she listened to my concerns and helped to introduce me to a new Chevy Cruze. We looked at a couple of cars but eventually I chose the chevy cruze. I was also concerned about financing since my credit has not always been good but after working a bit with Jim we were able to work out something that fit into my budget. Both Stephanie and Jim took the time to get to understand what I was looking for and I appreciate that.

Jeff Young is the best salesperson. He worked with us on every detail, down to the financing and kept us on the budget that we could afford. We got a vehicle that will grow with our family - I'm not talking about a minivan. He worked with us on a vehicle that would fit two carseats for two kids under two - without having to forth go the mommy van!
