I've been a Mitchell customer for almost 27 years and have never had such good service anywhere else. ( I bought my first car 43 years ago) My most recent visit was to autobody shop. The price quoted was fair, but because the outcome was not perfect (due to residual sun damages not caused by Mitchell, obviously), the manager volunteered to take off about 40% of the price. The maintenance services have also been consistently reliable and of high quality. The staff in all departments is friendly and customer service driven.

Completely ignore email inquiries. What's worse? Their Volvo website reveals NO Volvos when you click to view CPO vehicles BUT, plenty of CPOs from their sister franchises. Perhaps VolvoUSA corporate needs to take a look?

First visit for possibly buying a used car. Very knowledgeable, understanding and professional sales person - maybe the best I ever met in the car business. It is clear that Mitchell cares about its reputation. Great facilities. The other people I encountered were also genuinely very customer focused without the feeling that they just went through a "how to give good service to your customer" training class. I plan to going back for a second look at the car in which I am interested. It is worth he trip to Simsbury if they have a car in which you are interested.

I have been a long time Mitchell Volvo customer, since purchasing my XC90 there five years ago, and I have struggled with some service issues during that time, mostly involved with an oil consumption problem that is still yet to be resolved, but I was elated during my recent routine service visit when I discussed this and some other concerns with Jen, a service advisor that I never worked with before, and she listened and set-up a plan to address each of my concerns in addition to completing the routine service efficiently and effectively. I left the dealership with a true feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction, and the vehicle seemed to perform better than it had for some time. Thanks Jen!!!

I bought my new XC60 back in October 2014. I apologize for procastinating and taking this long to write about my Mitchell experience. The car I purchased was a demo; therefore, a few minor outstanding details needed to be worked out to make this picky guy completely satisfied. Alane is NOT one of those typical salespersons that will ignore request once the papers are signed. She works with you until your completely satisfied even weeks after the sale. Let me start by saying that I decided to purchase with Mitchell Volvo after reading a review right here on Cars.com. This stuff works! I was a little nervous about purchasing the vehicle because I live on the small Caribbean Island of Anguilla and I knew I would have to ship and go through so much hassle...from thousands of miles away. When I called and expressed my interest Chris Emailed me all the information I needed to know about the vehicle. He walked me step by step through the purchase process and they even had my car transported to New Jersey for Shipment to Anguilla. Chris kept me posted via text message the whole way. There wasn't a minute I didn't have a status update on my Car. I can say that these guys are really honorable, and from my very first conversation I felt like I was dealing with a company that I could trust to deliver a car I had never seen or touched or driven...and deliver it in the condition they promised it would be in with the correct documentation. I picked up my vehicle here in Anguilla today and I drove it for the first time. I can say that I am SOOOO Happy with this Car. I feel like I'm floating. Grinning from ear to ear. She was not pushy, listened to what I was looking for and got me the best price. The car was in great condition, very clean and new tiers. I would go there and ask for her. Let me start of by saying car shopping is not easy, and a head-ache at the least. However, Luis Vega and Mitchell Volvo changed my views on car shopping. I called Mitchell Volvo inquiring about pricing on a few different makes and models expecting to hear the typical sales pitch, and this was not the case. Luis Vega the ultimate professional, was there for me when I was confused about product knowledge and the whole buying experience. (Keep in Mind this is my 25th car purchase.) He provided all figures broken down with taxes and fees ahead of time, and even took the time to check the car for wear and tear before I drove 65 Miles to the dealership. I did not feel like I was working with a salesmen, more like a general to say the least. I love my S60 t5 AWD, and I highly recommend Luis Vega.

Bought my Mercedes E550 sight unseen. Car was in better condition than I expected when it arrived. Christopher sent copious amounts of cell phone pictures by text of every imperfection on the vehicle. He helped walk me through the entire process including sending me a picture of my new baby being loaded onto the truck. Would recommend fully. All the best.

Christopher showed me a new model with all the bells and whistles, but when it came down to it we discovered I was more financially comfortable with a pre-owned. The way I was treated never changed. I received the same courtesy and attention as when we were discussing a new car, and Chris and Lou really went out of their way to make certain we located a pre-owned vehicle with many of the same features I'd fallen in love with on the new model.

I have been leasing since 1988 and I would guess that this new Volvo V60 is our 25th car. I owned a Saab that was unfortunately totaled. Since Saab is no more, I decided to look at Volvos. I stopped by the lot very late on a Saturday afternoon, not wanting to bother anyone since I hate high pressure sales. Despite the 80 degree heat, Chris Jensen came right out to help. I told him that I was just looking, didn't want to waste his time. Still, he wanted to help. When I mentioned that I was interested in a particular model, he told me that they had JUST gotten one in (as in, it was on the lot still dirty). They cleaned it up, called me for a test drive, I signed the papers on Thursday. It was a painless experience, Chris was friendly, knowledgeable, and totally helpful.

I recently purchased a 2014 Volvo XC 60 from Mitchell. I had been looking for a new car for some time and decided on Volvo. After going to the dealership and finding my car, I was not looking forward to the negotiating. Much to my surprise it was not necessary as the price offered was as good as any I has seen on line. There was no pressure and I even changed the car when I brought my wife to see it after I had put down a deposit on another model. The salesman was not even bothered and I mean they didn't show any signs of bother. After having purchased more than a dozen cars in my lifetime, I have to say this was the best car buying experience I have ever had. It's a shame the others were not so pleasant. Absolutely no buyers remorse feelings with this dealership!

For repairs and routine servicing, this is the WORST Volvo place I've dealt with in 25 years of driving Volvos. Even the most simple repair (e.g., adjusting the windshield wiper spray) takes them two or three times to get right. Forget about asking them to do something "complicated" like an alignment--they will just tell you they don't have the specs on their computer and send you home. I have now had several negative experiences with them, and each time it has been very stressful. I will never go there again, and will not recommend to my friends.

After finding the perfect used vehicle at Mitchell Volvo, I spoke with the finance manager who strongly disliked the financial institution that I had decided to work with. He went on and on about how horrible they were to work with, unfortunately, that was the decision that I had made and he let me know that he was doing me a favor by working with me, as if I didn't deserve to buy this car. I put a deposit on the vehicle while I got my finances in order and since I live in Boston, it was a week later and I had rented a car to drive to Hartford to complete the paperwork and pick up the car. Just before arriving at the dealership, I received a call that they sold the car the day before. I was incredibly disappointed, but I know I'll find a similar vehicle. It's almost as if they wanted to avoid working with my lender and didn't respect the fact that I put a deposit on the vehicle. What's the point of a deposit if not to hold the car?

Christopher from Mitchell Volvo was very professional and I did not feel pressured. Chris took all the time needed to answer my questions and he spent all his time with me. He DID NOT jump from one customer to another. Chris was also very knowledgeable about the car that I wanted. After my visit, I continued calling and asking more questions about the XC90 SUV and again he was always available, respectful and knowledgeable. I purchased my "dream" car Friday February 21, 2014. Once I signed my papers, he took all the time necessary to go over the car's "gadgets" and he also set up the Bluetooth. If you want to purchase a Volvo, I highly recommended Christopher Jensen at Mitchell Volvo.

I had a significant repair on my 2905 Volvo XC90. With 112k miles, I was worried about the outcome, but I shouldn't have been worried at all. Great service, great repair, and excellent focus on customer satisfaction. I plan to put another 112k miles on my Volvo and I'm confident the service team at Mitchell will make it a reality. I have driven a lot of nice cars over the years [Audi's (4), Acura(2)]. I have found that the Volvo line XC90 and the S80 have been a pleasure to own with a very low cost of ownership compared with other cars I have owned/leased. Just today I brought my car in because I was getting a funny smell. They completely inspected the car for oil leaks. They felt that it was coming form the heating system. They completely cleaned the system (deodorized) the system gave me a loaner and only charged me $65. Brian and the rest of the guys at Mitchell have been great, honest, flexible with my needs over the years. I had a an intermittent problem with a fan motor that they couldn't duplicate. I has if the service manager could take it home to see if he could get it to make the noise. Sure enough the next day I got the call that Walter confirmed the noise and it was covered under warranty. While I am friendly with Mark Mitchell I have never had to ask for help resolving any issues. We had a very similair experience with the Dodge Store with a few vans we had when the kids were little

I took my 1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible into Mitchell's Auto for repairs. Paul Scata called me and informed me as to what steps the mechanics would take to fix the problem. Mr. Scata also informed me of the costs. I gave him the OK and the work began. Paul Scata called me daily to give me an update on the work being done and if the mechanics saw a new problem Paul would call first to get my OK and inform me as to the costs and ask if I wanted the work done. I said yes every time. I appreciated Paul keeping me informed and his very courteous service skills. Mr. Scata is definitely an asset to the company. I will take definitely take my car back to Mitchell's for any repairs, also I will recommend Mitchell's to my family and friends.

This was the second time I have bought a car from Mitchell volvo and once again great experience. Since I have been out of the car market for around 5 years, apparently there have been alot of changes in technology that I was extremely foreign to me. But Scott answered all my phone calls ( which could only be measured by mass) and could not have been more helpful answering all the questions I had and thats even before I stopped by for a visit. Then when I brought my husband along he did the whole walk through again like Scott did with me on the first visit!!! We could not be more happy with our car and Scott's persistence to make sure that we were happy with the car we were going to buy. If your going to go to Mitchell's you have to ask for Scott! PS. we have never bought a car that has handled the classic new england winter as well as our xc70 we picked up! so exited for our first road trip -Annie

I was in the market for a Volvo and having grown up in the Farmington Valley area, I instantly thought to go to Mitchell. Though a seemingly small dealership, there is no shortage of available cars! Leslie greeted me with a friendly smile and a non-pushy approach, which was a welcomed change from what you typically see at car dealerships. She was extremely knowledgeable and through our conversation directed me to the Volvo XC60, which was a perfect fit for me. I just bought my first Volvo last week at Mitchell Volvo. My family always drove Saabs, but now we decided to try a Volvo for the first time. Since we can't buy a new Saab anymore our salesperson showed us how the Volvo surpassed what we ever expected from our Saab. Leslie Rossi showed me how much more there is in a Volvo s60 than we we were accustomed to in our car. Comfort, safety and reliability were always the main concern for our the next purchase,but it also had options that I never expected from any car. I was very impressed when we drove down from Vt. We were looking for a Volvo xc70 wagon with low miles. The sales person was Alane who found me a car with all the options I wanted. She was so helpful, but not pushy. A real pleasure to work with. She knows her stuff. The car was very clean and ready to go. Being new to the area, I really didn't know what to expect when I walked in to Mitchell Volvo's showroom. An associate at my new firm had suggested I make an appointment with Alane since he had recently purchased a car from her and couldn't say enough about Mitchell in general, and Alane specifically. Even though it's a cliche, I have to say that I was treated like royalty. Alane was both professional yet easy going , and listened carefully to all my questions, and, unlike some previous buying experiences, didn't rush me through the time I needed to make an informed decision. I can't emphasize enough how comfortable she made me feel, and how accommodating she was in addressing my every little request, which, by the way, included having my new XC 60 ready for me to drive off to meet my daughter's arriving flight at Bradley International!

Well I recently just picked up a used volvo xc60 a couple days before thanksgiving and thought I would share my experience. I will start by saying I absolutely hate going to car dealerships because as soon as a I walk in I feel like everyone is looking at me with a huge price tag floating above my head. This was NOT the case at Mitchell's. As soon as I walked in I was greeted very promptly by the receptionist at the front desk and thats when she introduced me to Scott. Instead of trying to push whatever cars on me Scott thought would be good he actually listened to me and what I wanted in my next car. My kids obviously where one of the biggest driving factors of the car I bought and he was extremely attentive to them and their needs and asked what I was comfy with. And by the end of the day I was actually able to drive my new xc60 home, he worked so quickly and had me in mind the whole time. He went way above and beyond I could not be more pleased with Scotts performance and my overall experience with Mitchell volvo. I will be getting my next car from their no questions asked!

What can I say,,,This is the third time I have purchased a car from this dealership. I only have wonderful things to say about it. The sales team is very knowledgeable. I just love Alane. She was so helpful. She found just the perfect car, with all the equipment I asked for and then showed me how to use it. What a pleasure to work with someone who knows their stuff. My husband and I were recently shopping for a new car to lease. We met with Christopher Jenson at Mitchell Volvo on a Saturday afternoon in August. Christopher couldn't have been nicer or more informative. Being new to the brand, we asked a ton of questions. He answered all of them quickly and efficiently and he responded to our calls expediently. I was impressed with his level of knowledge with both the mechanical features of the car and with the potential financing options that were available to us. Couldn't be happier in our new car.

After owning the following cars; Audi, Mercedes, Toyota, Honda, Infiniti, and Lexus, I have learned that moving forward I will only work with this particular dealership for my automotive needs. What I love most about this dealership is that the sales people aren't manipulative or trying to play games, there is literally NO pressure to purchase a vehicle, and the staff is incredibly resourceful. I am now driving my second Volvo XC60 (because I wouldn't trust another car to transport my 1 year old) and my Mom has just purchased her first Volvo whenb i referred her to Christopher. Even if you aren't sure you're interested in buying a Volvo specifically, please pay this dealership a visit just to get a feel of how customers are supposed to be treated when purchasing a car.

Buy your car from CHRIS!! Chris worked hard, from our side of the desk, to get us the best deal! He was very knowledgable about the different years and options of all the Volvo's on the lot and in town. I walked in wanting an XC90 and by answering his questions, decided I was really looking for the XC60. Chris got me more money on my trade than any other dealer in town would give me. Chris also beat other dealers prices online and I went home happily in my XC60. I have had it for a week and I could not be happier! No buyer's remorse here and we will buy our next Volvo from him!!

I just bought a 2008 Saab at this dealership and was very happy with my experience. The car was very clean, with low miles. I received a service record of what the dealership did to the car. I was a little nervous about that, but Alane reassured me. She helped me all the way . She was great I would recemend her.

Christopher made my experience the best I have ever had while buying a car. I dread buying cars, however, as a business owner, I must do that every other year or so. Christopher was friendly and a straight talker and there was absolutely no pressure - it was a true pleasure to buy a car from him and I will return to this dealership next time around and hope to have a similar experience.

After doing a little research online, we went to this dealership to look at a specific car. The first sales rep that we talked to was friendly and seemed as though she wanted to help us. However, things quickly turned around when we mentioned that the prospective buyer had very limited credit history - you would think that would be better than bad credit. The sales rep said we would need to put money down [which was expected] and that it might be possible but that they were very busy and she wouldn't have an answer for us for a few days and wasn't able to run his credit that day to give us an idea. I asked if we could just look at the car and she said she would go get the keys. Instead, an Assistant Manager named Alan came over and basically told us to look elsewhere and they weren't going to even attempt to help us. He was extremely arrogant and condescending. I feel as though we were immediately written off due to being young [mid 20's] and not having much credit history. We went to two other dealerships on the same day and both were much more accommodating and customer service friendly. The buyer ended up with a great car through conventional financing and I am so glad that we did not give this dealership our business. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone. We both left with a very bad impression of the establishment. It's sad because I've had great experiences with Mitchell Subaru in Canton... It's very apparent that not all Mitchell locations have the same quality staff and professionalism.

After my 2001 S40 told me it was time to move on, I found myself at Mitchell Volvo checking out the new XC60s. It was a natural option to go there since I serviced my S40 there all the time and I found out that they participated in the Volvo Loyalty program. Christopher introduced himself while we were in the service waiting area and offered to help! Long story short we traded in the beloved S40 and left a few hours later with a brand new 2013 XC60!

Over a period of twenty plus years I have purchased several Volvo wagons from Mitchell of Simsbury and have had them serviced only by Mitchell. I wouldn't think of driving anything but a Volvo nor would I ever consider having it serviced anywhere else but Mitchell. I love my car (now 6 years old) and I trust Mitchell to care for it.

In December of last year I had a lot of excellent work done on my aging Volkswagen. On Friday I returned, my car was repaired by a professional, courteous team of people who cared. I had a loaner for a few days as the work could not be completed due to a part that had to be ordered. On my visit this time I read the poster portraying Walter Michelle, the sentiment expressed in the poster seem to mirror the attitude of the people who are carrying on his tradition. Went here because I heard good things so I had find out for myself, went in there knew what I wanted and i was approached by Chris he was down to earth and not a pushy annoying car salesman he made my purchase of a BMW 335 real simple without a headache . Mitchell has a great selection of used cars on their lot. Christopher helped us decide between the Mercedes GLK and the BMW X5. I come from growing up in a Volvo station wagon...Many good memories about going to my field hockey games, then my mom would pick me up to go to go home to do my homework. Now, my husband and I just bought our first XC90 to transport our family to their games and other activities... Nice to know, that our neighbor sold us our car about a month ago. We have bought several new Volvos from Mitchell over the years. Our buying experience in each case was wonderful. The sales people are extremely knowledgeable and are very nice and pleasant people, the kind you just want to stop by and say hello to when you are in the area. Bill McCarthy, Alan Selinger, Ozzie Afyouni and Lou Amenta are all great and have been so helpful to us. I appreciate all they have done for our family. We have a 2012 XC70 and a 2012 S60 and are very happy with these superb vehicles.

The people at Mitchell Volvo Dealership are by far the nicest people I have dealt with while prospecting cars. Since I was looking at used cars, I normally am rushed into a car rather then enjoying it and being able to appreciate that work that goes into the customer wanted said car. Their they gave me that please and even gave me options that would fit my budget, not theirs. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a new or used car to go in and take a look. I spoke with a man named Tony and I highly recommend him to help anyone out for a great experience along with others in the staff.

I bought a car from Mitchell's last week. Yesterday I noticed a tail light out and when I called everyone was so helpful getting me in to have it fixed, even a week later. I bought the car from Emily. She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I also met with Rick in service. He was most knowledgeable about the Volvo and able to explain all the systems and qualities we now love about this automobile. Mel attended to our every need in the most courteous manner possible.
