I just purchased a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country van from John Weir and it was a very positive experience. He was very helpful and informative and showed me all the aspects of my new van. I would highly recommend him and Shields for your next car purchase. I live in Rantoul and try and shop here if at all possible. We have purchased several vehicles from Shields and will continue to do so. We have become friends with Greg Shields, he is always happy to see us when we come in for any reason. Who thought "wonderful experience" would be a way to describe the process of buying a vehicle? The salesmen (especially Terry) made the car buying process just that....wonderful. They stayed open late just for little old me because I was coming from out of town. They stayed (and even came back from being home!) until 9:45 wheeling and dealing with the banks to get me the very best deal they could. I truly believe God led me to these honest, kind,trustworthy,wonderful, god fearing men.They have made a lifetime customer out of me and my family....My family and I will recommend everyone we know looking for vehicles or service to their vehicles to this business! Thank you so much Shield's for an exceptional experience!

The last four purchases that my wife and I made were from the Ford dealership of Shields Auto Center. The reason we are loyal Shields customers is the quality and value of their services and products; Shields life time warranty puts the added value of a vehicle purchase over the top. Our experience with Shields Auto Center was like this: there's nothing like going to Shields Auto Center, be greeted by a knowledgeable Sales Representitive like John Weir who worked diligently to get the best deal possible and directed the purchase process. After the deal was completed, the General Manager, Rick Shields, walked out of his office to shake my hand and thank me for the new Ford purchase demonstrating customer appreciation and pride in his business. Our car is not only Ford maintained but it's Shields Ford maintained. Drop by the Service Desk at Shields Auto Center and allow Service Manager Paul Egerton describe the quality service he can provide for your car. Trustworthy, is the best way to describe Shields Auto Center! My family and friends have been purchasing our vehicles from Shields for many years, we have also entrusted Shields to the maintenance and repairs needed to keep our cars running smoothly, and lasting for many years! I am writing this review because I just purchased another vehicle...a beautiful 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan mini van from Shields after having a 2001 Plymouth neon, also purchased at Shields many years ago, which lasted for 208,630 miles with regular maintenance and Shields excellent repair mechanics! Our experience with the proprietor of the dealership, the sales, service, and office personnel has always been excellent; in addition, they are very friendly people! They have been very helpful in all aspects of our needs, including availability, selection, affordability, purchase, and maintenance of all our vehicles. They also maintain and present a very neat and clean environment! Bottom line, we know that we are getting the very best service around! Thank you Shields Auto Center and we appreciate all your years of business in our community, and meeting all our family and friend's transportation needs! : )

We went in to look at a vehicle, test drove it, liked it. Filled out credit apps, etc. Our credit is good, so financing was never an issue. The vehicle was making a noise that we wanted checked out before buying it. They had us put a deposit down, said they'd have someone look at it on Monday. No one looked at it Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Finally said they were sending it to the Paxton location. On Friday. Finally, on Saturday morning we get a call from the salesman - but, after a week it was too late. We were in the process of buying an almost identical vehicle from another dealer. It was disappointing, because I expected better given the reputation Shields seems to have. No explanation or apologies for dragging it out for a week. I guess they didn't want our business.

I will never purchase again from Shield's in Rantoul. We bought there because we thought it was a reputable dealer. However, we were sold a car with a branded title on it at full retail price. Nothing was ever mentioned to us about the title being branded. Only when we were signing the final purchase papers did the dealership mention the car had been bought back due to the car failing to start at time. They never stated it was branded and they said there were no other problems since. They glossed over the whole issue and we were never made aware that it would affect the buy back value. It wasn't until we decided to trade the car in for a larger vehicle that we found out it had a branded title and it was only worth half of what we paid for it even though it was just purchased a couple of years before. Upon confronting management, they never apologized or even acknowledged what they did. They only tried to sell us another vehicle. I have never experienced such poor customer service and feel totally taken advantage of. And to think we purchased there trusting the dealership fully. Furthermore, if the title was branded and it was only worth half of it's value, why did the dealership charge us full retail and would never budge on the price even after we asked for a better deal (obviously before we knew the title was branded). Do not buy from this SHADY dealership!!

We found a Durango Shields had listed on cars.com that we were interested in. I made the short drive to Rantoul and met dealer Terry"TNT" and took a test drive. After a short, no pressure negotiation process we worked out a fair deal and I was on my way. Teresa in financing was excellent and got us a great rate. Thanks "TNT" and Teresa..will do business again!

After the treatment we recieved at Shields I will go nowhere else to even look for a vehicle or to get service done. After giving up on trying to find the right vehicle we were told by a family member who had just purchased a vehicle here that they might have what we were looking for, and they did. Our salesmen Preston had the truck waiting for us to look at when we showed up(in the snow), and even went and got another truck for us to test drive. After deciding on which truck we wanted the rest of the deal was very painless, and no running back and forth. All of the staff went above and beyond to get us a great deal and get it finished before going home. Thanks to Preston and Rick for all your work to get my wife the truck she has been dreaming of.

I began my great experience in 2007 with saleperson name John Weir. I first bought new 2006 Dakota. John was very great explaining the features of the truck. He personally took the time to go through the process of the sale too. In fact by providing me with great customer service , and being my first time experience with Shields Auto of Rantoul. I've since have purchased two other auto with John. I would recommend to anyone to come to Shields Auto and see John for all your Auto needs.

We first went to Sheilds 9 years ago after our car was totaled in a car accident. We were so impressed by the car we purchased and the service we received that when our son's car unexpectedly died, we called John Weir for help. Our son not only received help regarding disposal of the dead car, he also was able to buy a very nice car at a good price. We purchased our second vehicle from John in May 2011 and love it! John also helped when I accidentally scraped up our new car. Repair services are generally very good and I could get a loaner car to get to work. Had only one service problem, when a technician failed to detect a problem with our first car and we had troubles in S. Illinois.

I would like to start by saying the last comment I made about this dealership was WRONG. I spoke to soon and this is one of the best dealerships I have used. I thought they were not going to do anything for me, but they are very nice people and are straight shooters to me. They didn't have to do anything for me, but Dale Hendershot and Dale Benear both went above and beyond when they didn't have to. I look forward to using them in the future.

Our salesman Dale Benear was extremely helpful to us with our purchase of a 2013 Ford Edge. Dale went out of his way to make sure our purchase and buying process was easy and hassle free. Dale was knowledgeable, friendly and didn't pressure us. He helped us with every question or concern we presented him with. We would definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to purchase a vehicle. Dale Benear our salesman was extremely helpful to us in buying our new 2013 Ford Edge. He made the whole process nearly seamless. We couldn't have asked for a more friendly, helpful and courteous sales person. Dale went out of his way to make sure we were happy with our purchase. We would definitely seek Dale out for a future purchase. The finance manager Dale Hendershot was very helpful to us too. Every person at Shields was willing to help us out in any way they could.

Buying my vehicle from Shields was the best dealership experience I have ever had. They located the vehicle I was looking for at the price I offered, moved it in, and had it ready for pick up. Most of my transaction was handled over the phone and I spent less than an hour at the dealership taking delivery.

I've gone through this dealership for repairs on my old car, and when I realized that the repairs weren't worth it anymore, I talked to Preston about getting a new car. He made the shopping process SOOO easy! After gathering what I really wanted and needed, he did a great job showing me what was in my price range as well as had the features I wanted! Fantastic buying experience! I'd definately reccomend this dealership to anyone looking for a car! And don't forget to ask for Preston!

I had a smaller car and missed driving an SUV. Preston started looking for a good used vehicle for me and called whenever he had something he thought I'd be interested in. I had a pretty long list of "wants" for my "new" used vehicle. He was so pleasant and professional to work with. Not only did he find me a really great SUV... he saw to it that it was cleaned and had gas in the tank when I drove it off the lot. What a great salesman! I had a positive experience at Shields Auto Center in Rantoul, thanks to Preston. It's a good feeling to get a great deal on a used vehicle...and to deal with a salesman that is happy, easy going, and you feel you can trust. Great team at Shields!

We purchased a 2012 Ram 1500 and a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee from Shields. The salesperson did an excellent job as did the rest of the purchasing experience personnel.We have used the Service Department as well and they also have done an excellent job. Would recommend Shields highly to anyone interested in a new or used vehicle.

My wife and I were looking for a newer car with more safety features for our new baby. We went to see what Shields had to offer and were greated by Preston Carter. Preston showed us a several cars and told us about all the safety features each on offered. He was very informative and helpful. This helped us decided on our new car. I also expressed to him that I was interested in trading in my truck for a newer model. The next day he called and told me about what they had on the lot and I came down and got a great deal on a new truck. When its time for new cars I know that I will call Preston!

I usually have to buy two cars at a time because my wife always wants a new car when I have to get one. The people at Shields made it an easy transition into the vehicles that we purchased. We got a great deal on both vehicles and Preston Carter helped us pick out vehicles that fit our lifestyles and needs. I recommend all my friends and family to see him. I went to Shield's without the intension of buying a car. When I arrived, the salesman came out right a way. He was very curtious and within a couple of minutes we were test driving a car. We went to 5 more dealerships that day. I was sold on the car at Shield's so I called the salesman and asked him to get prices together. They gave me a decent price for my trade in and the next day we were driving our new car. Over all, we had a great experiance with Shield's in Rantoul. We will definitely go back to Shield's when we are looking for another car.

From beginning to end, the experience was great! Preston was helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. No pressure. We told what him monthly payment we wanted to have and he showed us several vehicles within that budget. He actually got us a warranty plan and our monthly payment was still less than we had planned for! Six months later we still love our purchase and are still getting compliments on our 'new' car! Can't say enough good things about Preston! He's a great guy!

My wife and I were looking for a used van with low miles and decided to try Shields. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by John Weir, one of their salesman. He was polite and very helpful in finding us the van we wanted in our price range. We told him what we were looking for and within 10 minutes he had a list of diffrent vans for us to look at. He then drove up each vehicle we were interested in and showed us the features. By the end of the day, we drove off the lot with a new van for us and it only took about 2 hours. Plus there was no pressure at all. John showed us the vehicles we wanted to look at. All in all a great experience. I'm going their again when we need another vehicle.

I purchased a used vehicle at Shields Auto Group back in November. The dealer stated that their service team had looked over the vehicle and found no known mechanical problems. I noticed an odd sound coming from the engine while I test drove it, but the salesman assured me that it had been checked out. After buying it I took it took my mechanic. $600 later, I found out that the odd sound was a leaking exhaust manifold gasket. Called Shields about it and they said that they sold it to me for such a low price that they could not help me with my repair bill. What a joke of a dealership..
