I have a 2009 Volkswagen Passat Wagon that I purchased two years ago from a VW dealership. I also purchased a two-year VW warranty with the car. There were some issues that were cold weather related, that needed attention, and I had to wait for late Fall colder temps, before taking the car into Suburban Volkswagen of Troy.At this time the warranty was close to expiring. Chris Lange the service director was most helpful, in patiently working with me to jointly road evaluate the car before and after the repairs, to make sure that everything was well attended to. There was also quite a bit of communication needed over a period of days while the car was in the shop. Adam Gilbert the assistant service manager was also most helpful, and took the time to go through everything in detail when I collected the car.Their customer waiting area is extensive, with many amenities. A complimentary shuttle service is also provided to drop you at your place of work, or residence. The driver Lou is friendly and happy to chat during the ride. Additionally they are also able to provide a rental vehicle at a competitive rate, if needed, while your car is in the shop. This is a great dealership, with many pluses, to take your VW for service or repair.

My experience is always pleasant when I come in to have my vehicle serviced. The staff is polite and knowledgeable. I believe my car should only be touched by specialist. And I'm yet to find a reason to see this establishment and it's staff as any thing less.

I was impressed that I could get a new battery as a walk-in, about 45 minutes before closing time. I had had to get a jump start to get to the dealership, and did not want to come back the next day. The service department was very accommodating. SUPER SERVICE.

Brought my Jetta in for a rust warranty last year. Got it checked out. They took pictures filed paperwork. Had a guy come out and checked it with the spectrometer to see if the paint was original. Got a quote from the shop turned it in. Was told they would call me when they were ready for my car. No call went in a few times. Went in after a while they fired the people that were handling it. Lost my paperwork redid it all the same. Wait for call... no call visit a couple times. Visit after a while They fired that guy Redid paperwork round three waiting on call going to go in and visit. I have a couple other things I need repaired or looked at Don't Trust at all. I love my Jetta TDI but I am seriously rethinking even getting another Volkswagen due to this dealer. How good is your car with out support when you need it? Also it bums me out that they don't help you out with a loaner or anything during repairs.

My appointment was with Amir at 8am on Saturday and when I pulled up at 7:40am the service bay door was up and I drove in and asked for Amir. he stated he was Amir and greeted me by name and said he was expecting me. The car was with the technician Blake immediately. In less than 10 minutes that brought me over and showed and explained what was wrong and what they needed to do to fix it. I was driving out of the dealership by 8:20am as happy as I could be. Knowledgeable, personal and very professional. It took me by surprise. Most pleasant experience ever in a dealership for service. I had a scheduled appointment for service due to my car stalling. I had requested shuttle service but had to wait about 20 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. It would help if you could enter your destination when you request the shuttle so they can plan ahead to know how long it will take to drive you there and make sure that they have a shuttle available for all of their customers.I was asked if I needed my car checked prior to lunch. Yes, that's why I made a 9:30am appointment, so you could check it and fix whatever is wrong before the end of the day. If you don't look at it before noon there is a chance that you will not have enough time to complete a repair by the time I need it back. By 2:30 I had not heard from the dealership so I gave them a call. They were just finishing up on my car at that time. Great, but you know what would have been even better? A phone call telling me what repair they were going to perform and that it was covered by my warranty, along with an estimated time it would be complete. Not knowing what's going on with my car causes anxiety. A simple phone call would have been much appreciated. Plus, don't you need my approval to authorize the work? Even if I'm not going to be charged?

I came for the 10K mile service. The service overall was fair, the attention was good. What I didnt like is that the service manager didint give me a summary of what they did to my car, he didnt explain me what security points they checked and overall recommendations to my car. What I also didnt like was that the manager said that my service was going to take 1 hr, so I came back after an hour and my car wasnt even started yet! His excuse was that his technicians attended an emergency at other dealrship... so my impression was that my car was just serviced in a fast way without being careful.

Our sales person James did a great job for us. My husband and I decided to lease a VW. My last vehicle was a much loved 2000 Jetta. Lots of changes to vehicle models in 16 years! James got us multiple demos to testdrive in no time! And he was excellent in describing the various features and options on every car. Well old habits die hard. Decided on another Jetta. I've had many new vehicles that have needed warranty repair and regular maintenance work. I'm no stranger to the service department at dealerships. The service at Suburban VW is top-tier. All warranty work done without question or problem. All regular maintenance has been handled quickly (most of the time while I wait) and accurately. My vehicle still drives very, very well with an excess of 60k+ miles and, to be sure, is party due to the accurate and reliable service provided.Amir is the point man in the service department and for good reason. Never are unnecessary repairs suggested, and frequently when asking about upcoming maintenance, it's made clear that there is no reason, at that point, to spend the money on something unnecessary. Couldn't be happier with the personable and professional services.

Made an appointment to have my car repaired - I was not greeted when I brought the car in and had to wait nearly 10mins before helped (although there seemed to be at least a couple of people available to do so) and was told I was in the wrong area. After being sent to the correct area I was "helped" by way of a service associate who in 10 short conversations (being interrupted by the associates' walking away) was able to finally drop off my car for service. I was told the approximate time for the car to be completed and that I would receive a phone call. I returned hours later to find my car waiting outside and received no communication that the car was ready. Once I completed the payment transaction I got into my car to find the floor mat, steering wheel as well as the shift knob was covered in grease; I understand a service technician at some point needed to get into the car to pull this into a service bay but the dealership should be checking to make sure the car is as clean on the inside as when I brought it in. I will not be returning to have my car serviced at Suburban Volkswagen of Troy.

James Sirr contacted me a few days prior to my VW CC lease expiring. He recommended another VW CC vehicle over the phone and emailed the details including pictures of the new vehicle. Since I really did not have the time to visit the dealership, this experience was new but also very pleasant. A few days later I stopped at the dealership and picked up the new vehicle, turning in the current one at the same time. James and his Manager John Beauchamp were great, especially since the current vehicle was rear-ended and I did have the claim approved, but not yet repaired. The offered to take the vehicle for me to the collision shop as well. This was truly the best new vehicle experience I ever had. Great support from the dealership.

Avoid this dealership at all costs. I recently bought a 2009 Volkswagen Beetle from them and it has been the nightmare of all car-buying nightmares.I won't recount the saga of what happened when I bought the car, but it was the beginning of a nightmare that continues.Right now, I'd like to share the latest episode in this nightmare, which involves my car's battery.Less than 3 months after I bought this car, my battery died twice in less than a week. Once when I was having my windows tinted and again less than a week later when I was at a drive-up bank ATM machine.When the tow truck driver came to start the battery, he said the battery looked okay, but I should have the alternator looked at. I wasn't happy to learn that my alternator was acting up, especially since I'd only had the car for 3 months. But I was relieved that it was covered under the extended warranty that I bought with the car.So made an appointment at Suburban Imports and took the car in. When I told the tech, Amir, what the tow truck driver had told me, his words were something to the effect that VW alternators usually last 10 years. But he said he'd do a battery check.When he showed me the printout from the battery check, it indicated that the battery needed to be replaced. Amir said the price would be $250.Naturally, I asked why I should have to pay for a new battery on a car I'd had barely 3 months. His answer was that "batteries are unpredictable" and that you never know when a battery will die.Now, when I bought the car, I was given maintenance records that showed me what work had been done on the car since it had been on the Suburban Imports lot. When I checked the maintenance records, the battery WAS NOT listed as something that was either checked or replaced, which I found strange. It would seem that a reputable car dealership would check every part on a car that it is selling, especially a crucial part like a battery which, according to Amir, is "unpredictable."I find it interesting that the part that wasn't covered in my extended warrantee was the part that needed replacing.Amir even tried to throw the blame my way saying I might have left my lights on, which is not true, but I would expect an employee of this dealership to say such a thing. They are scam artists and charlatans.So I recommend avoiding Suburban Imports for new or used cars, unless you want a GIANT headache.UPDATE:They still deserve 0 stars!I have called Mr. Battalia, but he has yet to return my call, but...Judging from the conversation I had with Chris Lange, the service manager, who responded to my Yelp review, I am certain Suburban Imports could care less about solving the problem with my battery. They are only interested in enriching Suburban Imports at my expense.Mr. Lange's offer of free labor on the new battery that I would be required to buy from Suburban for $150 proves my point. I should not have to anything on a battery that was in the car when I bought it 3 months ago.Caveat emptor, right? "Let the buyer beware." But I will not be buying anything from this dealership EVER and I caution anyone considering buying from this dealership to rethink the decision. Stay away. They will bleed you dry - or try to.This dealership likes to put up the facade that they care about customers by responding to bad reviews on public sites, but they don't really care. My experience illustrates that perfectly.

Had a great car buying experience with Eric Malone who listened to my needs, skipped all the nonsense, and got me set up with the new car I wanted. Eric was friendly and professional and very helpful. He expedited the process and made things run smoothly which I appreciate. This is my 4th or 5th Jetta so I'm not a tough sell, but because of that, I appreciated his professionalism and his not trying to oversell me on a car I've always loved. The VW Tiguan was not originally one of our top choices, but after driving and comparing it with other small SUVs in addition to the value (great tech package, mileage, safety, engineering and panoramic sun roof) and great customer service we received, it was an easy decision. Love the free car washes whenever we are in the area and highly recommend asking for Eric.

By the far the best car buying experience I've ever had. While other dealers go through the motions and try BS sales tactics. Eric Malone, John the manager and Tom in Finance get results. This dealership has the worst service I have ever experienced. They act as though they are to important for their customers and always tell you there is a whole bunch of things you need to fix/replace at extremely inflated prices. Today i thought I would give them one more try. After getting transferred three times to "service dept" I heard click click... dial tone. so i called them back, maybe it was an honest mistake right? i got transferred again and after sitting on hold for ages I heard the receiver get picked up and then they hung up again. this is the last time I give them any more chances, and I hope somebody else will read this and avoid the frustration I am feeling.

The 1st car I purchased from Suburban VW needed collision repair. Unfortunately it was towed to another VW dealership and repairs were made with aftermarket parts although my warranty required new. When these parts failed I went to Suburban. Amir told me repaid were not covered because of aftermarket. He patiently listened to my situation, and worked with AAA and other dealership, and ultimately other dealership paid for all the new parts. We are now on our 3rd Suburban VW and will never have our cars serviced elsewhere.

Had my 10000 maintenance, got everything done very quick. I also had a broken tire which had a nail in it, they helped me replaced by a brand new tire for free since I have the wheel warranty. (Highly recommend the tire warranty, I've got two broken during the past half year due to the hard road condition, I was also recommended by the manager when I purchase the car, very very useful.) Very good experience with them.

I stopped into Suburban VW on a whim, trying to get rid of my 2013 Ford Focus. Lori greeted me immediately and offered her help. I had my eye on a 2015 Jetta Sport and she did EVERYTHING in her power to make sure I was able to get me into the car I wanted. She set up a test drive within a few minutes and even washed the car for me! I was pretty much sold on the car before I went in, but it was the service at this dealership that solidified my choice to lease my car through them. Lori (and the sales manager Christina) were able to get me out of my Focus when I had 9 PAYMENTS LEFT. Extraordinary experience and never felt pushed or obligated. There aren't enough great things I can say about the Suburban Volkswagen of Troy team!I'd been dying to get into a new car for months, and Volkswagens were at the top of my wish list. Once I located an buyer for my old car, I kicked my search for a new one into high gear, and that's when the Suburban VW team, specifically Sales Manager Rick Szepytowski, really stepped up to the plate. Before I walked in door, I was dead set on a specific model. But due to configuration limitations and financial reasons, it wasn't going to work out. I was slightly disheartened, but Rick was unfazed and quickly went to work to find a vehicle with every feature I wanted within my budget.An hour later Rick called to tell me he'd found a vehicle that was spec'd exactly how I'd build it in the Volkswagen online car configurator (down to the interior color and floor mats) at a price that was cheaper than I was hoping for. He even went to the dealership it was located at and personally picked it up for me first thing the next morning. Long story short, I am an extremely satisfied new owner of a manual 2015 Volkswagen Jetta TDI!I also can't thank Scott Brown (Assistant Manager) & MacGregor Brown (Finance Manager) enough for keeping me in the loop every step of the way, getting the financing and paperwork complete and processed in record time, but most importantly gaining my trust which isn't easy to do.I've had the car over a week now, and I still can't help but look back and grin from ear to ear every time I get out and walk away from it. I had a car emergency on the eve of my move from Troy to Ferndale. My 2008 VW Rabbit sounded like someone had stolen its catalytic converter. So I dropped my car off after hours at Suburban VW of Troy and hoped for the best. Needless to say the day of my move was stressful, but dealing with Amir at Suburban VW was great. He is the best! His customer service skills are stellar and he knows cars. He even texted me a pic of what was wrong with my exhaust. This was back in October and the repair has held up. I got this great deal for my used car at Suburban Troy. I dealt with Steve Elich for the initial part of the process and then with Alfonze Hernandez for the financial part of the deal. I test drove a used 2014 Volkswagen Passat 1.8L Wolfburg edition and just bought it. They matched the market price and also helped me getting an awesome interest rate through my bank for financing. They explained all details clearly and answered all queries patiently. Also, once the buying process was complete, they ensured the car was cleaned, filled full-tank gas and provided me some key necessary information. I recently took my VW BEETLE in for service because of an engine warning light. I had called 2 days prior to my appointment, stating my problem and also saying I would need a ride to work, saying where that would be. As soon as I drove in at 7:15am, the Service Consultant, Amir, Chaaban, said the car could not be seen until 8. I told him I was told to arrive exactly when I did. No problem for me, since I was leaving the car while their driver took me to work. Before I get into that, let me say that this consultant was rude. He began by telling me that he never liked the Beetle! He said he just did not like the look of it. Fine, he is allowed to have an opinion, but to put down a car model from a company that employs him just boggled my mind!! I then quipped that possibly my car was a lemon since it is yellow. He then went into an explanation of what a lemon really is...a problem has to occur 3 times before it gets that designation. I WAS KIDDING!! He truly does not now how to communicate with his customers. But it got worse!! As I was getting my ride to work, he was notifying my driver about another call but when he heard where I was going for my job, he stated - on speaker - that that was just too far. Now I told them where I worked, not to mention that at this time, I was in the car!! So...when the car was ready for pick-up, I was told I had to find my own ride to the dealership, which I did. When he turned over my key, he stated that he was sorry about not being able to get me, but that the DRIVER said it was too far. HE SAID IT WAS TOO FAR!! And to make matters worse, the following day, the same warning light came back on. Admittedly, this is not his fault, but believe me, I will not be returning to the dealership in Troy. In the past, the staff at the Farmington Hills location has treated me with kindness and respect. I chose Troy this past time thinking it would be more convenient for rides to and from work. Oh well...Another note, the car is under warranty, therefore no cost to me.

When I had about 10 months left on my lease several dealerships started calling me and sending me offers in the mail saying they wanted to buy my car. They said they would get me into a new lease on a car of equal value for a lower monthly payment or, at the very least, the same monthly payment I was making now. When I made the trip to meet with them, however, they all told me something quite different. They said the only way they would buy my car was if I agreed to a new lease on a car of lesser value with a higher monthly payment. They basically pulled the whole bait and switch routine with me. They even tried to pressure me into the deal by telling me I was absolutely going to exceed my allotted mileage and be charged an inordinate number of fees when I turned in my lease. Needless to say, I left each dealership very unsatisfied. One of these dealerships even had the audacity to call me back a few months later and make the same kind of promises they did the first time they called. Unfortunately, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made the trip there again only to hear the same bait and switch routine they pulled on me the first time I was there.Fortunately, all this changed when I got in touch with Karl Trost at Suburban Volkswagen. Rather than make empty promises like the other dealerships salespeople, Karl just told me to come in and they would see what they could do about getting me into a new lease that was acceptable to my terms. He didnt make any guarantees about anything. He said their only goal was for me to leave their dealership being satisfied with my experience, which is exactly what happened. Upon arriving at Suburban Volkswagen I was greeted by another salesperson, Mac Brown. Unlike other salespeople I have encountered he did not rush up to me trying to sell me a car before any of his colleagues. He simply approached me with a pleasant attitude and asked what he could do to assist me. When I told him I was there to see Karl he politely asked me to wait in the lobby while he went to locate Karl. Within seconds Mac returned with Karl. Karl was as equally polite and didnt pressure me whatsoever. Rather than just try to sell me a car he took the time to listen to what I deemed were acceptable terms and he did everything he could do to accommodate those. In the end what this amounted to was Karl, his Sales Manager, Matt Griffith, and Finance Manager, Darren Nitz, getting me into a upgraded model of the car I wanted (which is an upgrade from my current car) for a monthly payment that was less than what I was currently paying. How they went out of their way to accommodate me and get me exactly what I wanted in such a short period of time was something I have never experienced before. Speaking of which, I cant forget to mention how amazingly easy and enjoyable it was to work with Karl, Matt and Darren in finalizing and financing my new lease. Im so used to dealing with Salespeople who are pushy, Sales Managers who try to play hardball and Finance Managers who make you feel foolish for not getting an extended warranty and service package that Karl, Matt and Darren were a welcome change. Overall, I would recommend Suburban Volkswagen to anyone looking to get a great deal on an excellent car while being treated fairly and not feeling pressured. This was my best car purchasing experiencing ever!!! Kudus to Karl, Mac, Matt and Darren at Suburban Volkswagen!!! It was great working with all of you!!

I still feel that way; however I can honestly give a perfect score for this survey. Darren is the Internet Sales Consultant; most of our communication was done over e-mail, clear and to the point. He matched the price of another locale dealer, ordered the exact vehicle I wanted, kept me regularly updated on the status of the vehicle and made the pick up as efficient as he could. On February 6 2013, I experience a car problem when I purchased some gas from a station that had water in it. Within 24 hours of my emergency Amir, John and Chris solved my problem. I greatly appreciate the quick turn around response to my call. And the quick discovery of the bad gas in my new car along with the repair. Within 24 hours my car was cleared of its illness and I was back on the road.They even made sure I had the proper paper work to have my money refunded for the bad gas problem. Everything went well!! Lori was very friendly and detailed. She talked to me about what I was looking for in a car. I really didn't think much about what I wanted besides power windows and seats. She showed me that the cars today had so much to offer. I was really impressed with Volkswagen, the dealership and Lori. I even have heated seats now, which have been really nice since it's cold out now. I'll never own another car without them. I would go see Lori if you are looking to get a new car! You won't be disappointed with her process or amount of detail she puts into getting you that car that you are looking for.

Lori Card, VW Troy is the best dealer Ive met. She is the most attentive and helpful salesperson. She really cares about the people she works with. I remember that once I decided about the car I wanted she did everything to bring it to Michigan from another state in less than 24 hours, she was so efficient with all paperwork that in 36 hours I was already driving my new car. Lori's work does not end there, she actively reminds me about updates, sends me brochures, and all the information i may need. I would strongly recommend Lori for anybody who is looking for a VW.

Lori Card is the most attentive and caring car salesperson I have ever worked with. From the moment I walked through the door, to the moment I walked out with my car (over a week later), we were in constant communication. She bent over backwards to find a car that fit my specific criteria. I wasn't happy that the car had to come from over 250 miles away, but this was not Lori's fault. She looked throughout all of Michigan to find me the best deal with all the little upgrades I wanted, for a fantastic price. I would definitely go and see Lori again! I love my 2012 VW Golf!

Lori helped me get out of my CC lease early and into Sign and Drive on a 2013 Tiguan SE. They didn't have the color I wanted, but she was able to find it with the options I wanted plus some extras in less than 24 hours. She delivered the car to me in less than 48 hours and for a nice amount less than originally quoted. I would absolutley call Lori if you are looking for any of the VW's.

Purchased a brand new 2013 VW Jetta for my family from here a week ago. Lori has helped me find the car with my color of choice, trim level ( not in stock at the dealership at the time ), and negotiated a decent sale price that I can live with. Painless sale process, less pressured environment which I find comfortable to visit again if I do have a question or an interest in buying or test driving another car. ( Can't say that about every dealership ).What I loved abt this place ? Pretty much everything. Fast sale, ( Cash, of course ), Friendly Sales person ( Lori ), Even the sales manager at the floor was easy to work with.What I hate ? The Car wasn't free. Uggh.Will I shop again ? Without a doubt. ( Guys at the dealership, call me when you have a CC at employee pricing, Lol ).

When I came into the dealership and first spoke to Lori about leasing another Jetta, we realized in short order that I had been given some misleading or at least incomplete information by the phone solicitor who had encouraged me to come in...so a rocky start, which was not her fault. Also I had only a short time available to discuss the deal. Lori, with the help of her manager, was able to help me get the best possible price and terms in short order, and I was able to pick up my car the same day. Lori was respectful of my time, did not play games, and I got a great car and lease. I have had good experiences with Suburban, especially this time!

It's always nice to deal with someone that is an enthusiast of the brand that they sell - and Mac is just that!! He's a VW fan and a VW driver. Not a high-pressure interaction at all, and I was a little undecided on what I wanted. I needed time to make my decision and Mac gave me the time. This was our first visit to Suburban. We brought in our new Sportwagen for a 90 day courtesy check, as Suburban is closer to our house than the dealership where we bought it. Derek greeted us right away and got the car in to Dan to do the inspection. We couldn't have waited more than 20 minutes when they told us the car was ready. They also replaced one of the plastic cargo dividers that had broken... and they washed the car! Good experience, will definitely go back to Suburban for our next service.

I was working with Lori Card to get my new Passat. I was very disappointed initially with the information provided by both Lori and Dennis(the Manager). I was never given the full information what I had asked for and when looking thro' my lease details I found a lot of additions which were not told or discussed. They may be there as part of Lease but should be mentioned to a Customer when especially mentioned I was leasing for the first time. Later I was contacted by VW of Troy and explained about the Lease terms. I was happy about it after given full attention by Lori and her colleagues.

I saw an ad on Ebay for this 2010 VW Beetle. I called and talked to Thomas Marvaso. He was really great on helping me out. My husband took the day off from work to drive down with me from Central Michigan to look at the car. I knew as soon as I saw it, this was the car I wanted. They were good on giving me a fair price for my trade in, and Michael Smith did all he could to get me a good interest rate on my loan. I was very pleased with all they did for me. The only problem is, it took all day to do the business, I thought they were never going to get done doing the detailing of the car. This was not the fault of Tom and Mike. Thanks to these two for a great deal!

VW offers with their 3 years, 36000 miles "Carefree" maintenance program, a free 90 days courtesy check up, and 3 free schedule maintenance visits, one per 10k miles. When my 90 days was almost up for my 2011 GTI, I booked an appointment with the Suburban VW of Troy's Service for a 90 days check up, note that I bought the car here, and was pretty happy with their helpful sales staff. The scheduling was fine and got a date that works fine for me. Upon arrival of that day I bring my car to the dealership. The service adviser who I don't know the name, took the key, and checked the mileage. Then promptly returned the key to me. He said that the 90 days inspection has a mileage limit of 3000 miles, and my car at which point had 4500 miles and was over the limit and thus not eligible for the check up. Not knowing the program in detail, but feeling a bit fishy about his claim, I left the dealership. Upon checking on VW.com, the program clearly notes on the site that the program is for cars before 90days or 6000 miles, not 3000 miles. This kind of either ignorant(bad) or deceiving(worse) service adviser is infuriating to a customer who decided to take a chance with VW despite knowing their not-so-stellar record for reliable cars. Fortunately there is another VW dealer in the area who was happy to honor the check up, and have since become my dealer of choice for service visit(one Courtesy check up, one TSB claim, and one schedule maintenance with them now).

OUR SALES PERSON, DANTE DAVIS, WAS VERY RESPONSIVE TO OUR NEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS WASHED, CLEANED, AND GASED AT OUR REQUEST BEFORE OUR TEST DRIVE. THE "GIVE AND TAKE" DURING THE PURCHASE WAS RESPECTFUL AND SOMEWHAT ENJOYABLE; EVEN THOUGH HE WAS ALSO WORKING ON "SEALING THE DEAL" WITH 2 OR 3 OTHER CUSTOMERS. HE EVEN FOUND TIME TO BRING US PIZZA AND DRINK. HIS FOLLOW UP WAS JUST AS SINCERE AS BEFORE THE SIGNING OF THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT. REMARKABLE ! I PLAN ON UP-DATING THIS RESPONSE AFTER I HAVE SOME WARR. WORK COMPLETED ON ANOTHER VW I BOUGHT AT ANOTHER DEALER. FINALLY, WHAT IS ALSO IMPORTANT IS THAT I OBSERVED HOW OTHER BUYERS WERE BEING TREATED, AND I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THEY SEEMED TO GET THE SAME CARE (EVEN WHEN THE BARGAINING GOT ROUGH). THEY ARE DEFINITELY WORTH A TRY.

I came back to this dealership after purchasing a car from them 11 years ago (which was an exceptional car and purchase experience) and through an Internet referral from my insurance company. I asked for a complete sales invoice from Matt Gabbard (sales rep) before showing up to purchase the car after initial visit, several email exchanges and providing a $500 deposit. Matt promised to send one by fax but ended up only sending a partial response by email.I purchased the car (2009 Passat Wagon) on April 21 and I'm still waiting for two issues to be resolved that they promised multiple times to check into. 1. When completing the final paperwork asked for documentation showing that I had the two year extended warranty I paid for. Che Shaydak (financial manager) and sales rep told me the car's recent service record would document that the car had been serviced sufficiently to qualify it for sale as a CPO vehicle and the two year extended warranty. I was told multiple times by sales rep that this would be sent - nothing received yet.2. When I got the car home I noticed the cargo screen cover was missing - a standard item on this car. I was initially told the car was sold "as is" even though though it is a certified pre-owned vehicle. Told them this was not acceptable given the item would cost me $400 to replace and I paid $20,000 for the car. Sales rep promised to check on finding one for me but never got back to me.Conveyed my concerns to Bob White (pre-owned sales manager) three times but no response yet.Bottom line: Get everything on paper first before signing anything and take any used car to a mechanic for an independent inspection before purchasing.UPDATE:Shared my concerns my insurance company who related my concerns to ZAG. Was put in touch with Mike Massamino at the dealership who eventually resolved my concerns. Would still have reservations about going back to this dealership.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS DEALER!The customer service at the service center for VW is awful. They always wanted to charge me for items that were within warranty. Last time I dropped by the service manager did not provide accurate info regarding pricing options. They quoted me $500 more than their sister dealer in a different city. Madness!!!Another annoying fact this service center never has time to schedule you in; it's always booked for at least 1 week. However, when you stop by w/o notice they have room and accept you. Their ridiculous shuttle service is useless. Their loaner program, is nonexistent. I would never recommend this dealer to anyone.

by far the worst car buying experience i have ever had. the guys at this dealership could care less about their customers. they are all nice and friendly in order to get you into a new car. then you own the car, and you have a problem, and all of the sudden they are not your friend anymore. its like hitting a brick wall. i have never met such cold people. there service department is a joke too, filled with a bunch of yoo hoos that could care less about you and your car, let alone their job. honestly, buy your volkswagen somewhere else, avoid this dealership. i have never written anything like this before on the internet. i was so shocked by my experience at Suburban Volkswagen of Troy that i was compelled to warn others before they commit to buying from that dealership. save yourself the agony.

I had an AWFUL experience purchasing a vehicle through Suburban Volkswagen.During the purchasing process, I had to return to the dealership five separate times to redo paperwork they "messed up".Visit one: Immediately after purchasing the vehicle, they realize they used the wrong document or something. I'm not sure what they did wrong exactly, they were very unclear on it. They ripped up the original paperwork and had me sign new paperwork. While going through this paperwork, I noticed they did not include the VW Certified Pre-Loved extended warranty line item that had previously been agreed to in our verbal contract and the now ripped-up paperwork. I brought that up and they re-added it.Visit two: Originally they put my financing in through Nissan instead of VW Credit(how does that even HAPPEN?!).Visit three: They said I didn't sign some paper that expressed that I would purchase insurance on the vehicle. That should have been done during the original deal. I didn't want to drive in to resolve their mistake, so I asked if they could mail it to me, they were not willing to do that. I have insurance on the vehicle, for what it's worth, so I'm not sure what good this intent document was.Visit four: Since they put my financing in through Nissan instead of VW originally(it's a VW vehicle! Why would you put it in through Nissan?), I had to return to the dealership to give them my first payment.Visit five: My vehicle's driver side window quit functioning, so I brought it in to their shop for repair. I was informed I did not have VW Certified Pre-Loved. I have paperwork from them that says that I do, but they insist that I only have gap coverage. I still have not resolved this issue.I am infuriated with the service I have received from Suburban VW. I would not recommend purchasing a vehicle from them to anyone. They are incredibly pushy, arrogant, and difficult people who are incompetent at performing the necessities of their job.
