I recently purchased a car from Andre Jennings at The Autobarn, and I could not be happier with my purchase. I feel I got a very great deal on the car compared to other dealerships with similar cars. I purchased a 2015 Volkswagen CC R Line. The process was smooth throughout. I had called ahead and the car was up front waiting for me. Kissy was the finance manager and everything from beginning to end was a very easy process. Coming from a sales background I walked into the Autobarn expecting high pressure sales person but Andre was not high pressure at all. He also advised I purchase the Autobarn package covering the car for almost anything, I almost turned it down but he made it make sense to me. 3 weeks after purchasing I hit a metal spike in the road and thanks to Andre, my wheels and tires are covered!Highly recommend this dealership to anyone in the market for a Volkswagen or any of their other cars they have on the lot. Knowledgeable, Andre was a Volkswagen fan, just a great experience!

Walked in unsure of what I wanted to do. I was greeted and helped by Ricardo Laya and Abraham. They were both super patient as I asked a million questions. They asked me a lot of questions too and recommended a Passat. They did everything right. Walk around, test drive, tour of the dealership, and tour of the service department. The process was pretty painless and I drove off in my new 2017 Passat R-Line. I'm pretty happy.

Excellent customer service- I dealt with both Dominique and Arthur, and they were both very professional and knowledgable. Also, they didn't use the high (and annoying) pressure techniques other dealerships do. I haven't purchased yet, but plan on going back today and buying the vehicle.

I came in and was immediately greeted by Mr. Svraka. I explained to him that I saw a specific Jetta online for a specific price and was interested in it. He immediately took me to the lot to see the car and let me test drive it. It was a nice car and I was pretty happy, but it felt and looked kind of plastic. It was the baseline model. Mr. Svraka read it on my face and immediately pointed behind me where parked was a 2015 jetta se tsi. This car was only a few hundred more with a lot more details. From the inside panel, heated seats, engine performance, etc. When a dealer looks out for you, its a great feeling. Thanks Emir!!

I made the first phone call to inquire about the car that I really wanted. The woman that I was speaking with told me she would get back to me. When she never called me back I had to call the dealership again to speak to a new person. I ended up speaking to several people and negotiations didn't go at all in my favor. The dealership insisted on charging me more than the listed Internet price because they made me purchase the engraving on the windows of the VIN number. Even when I told them that I did not want this added service they insisted that it had already been done and I had to pay for it. I ended up having to buy another car elsewhere.

I walked out during my interaction. I had-had enough of an evening of being treated like a 2nd class citizen and one the sales manager called me an idiot. Unprofessional staff. Especially the kid that supposedly was selling me a car who has only been there for a month. He kept texting and taking phone calls didn't even know the car I was trying to buy. He decided to take another customer and left me unattended with a test drive vehicle. I could've driven off and he wouldn't have even known. He said "please come back with the car!". Several sales managers and finance directors came to sway me into different terms. The last guy flat out told me the car I wanted was too much money for my blood. Really? Then he proceeded to sell me the most basic Jetta on the lot. What a waste. I was done wasting words once the guy told me I didn't know what I was talking about and nothing I said made sense to him. He then accused me of lying. Buddy, I've been in finance for over 10 years. I know when I'm being cheated. I've never been so disrespected by an Autobarn location in the past. Tragic.

Want to get screwed? Then don't read the below. However if you want to save yourself some money, then this is my story:Towards the end of June 2014 I purchased a new VW Gold GTI at this dealership. Service was professional I was able to secure a loan being a year after bankruptcy (at 11% APR, but even being able to get this loan was nice). Aside from getting the vehicle, I also got two warranty packages. Everything was great, I had a good car that drove me around without a problem. There were two instances where I damaged my tires due to potholes and both times my warranty worked great with great service. I got new tires both times, without any additional cost, while getting amazing service. All was good until April 2016, when I came up with the idea to trade in my GTI for a different vehicle. I picked out my new dream car and left my GTI as a trade at the dealer. On the following day (April 15th) I went to the Autobarn to advise them of this fact, and to get a refund on the remaining portion of the unused warranty. All was ok, along with Sylvia from the finance dept, I filled out the paperwork. As I was leaving, she let me know that I will get a refund in the amount $1583 in the next 2-3 weeks, which was to be mid may 2016. I waited patiently until the beginning of June, but with no result so I made another visit to the Autobarn. After waiting over 2 hours for Sylvia (she was in their HQ in Evanston) she apologized, stating this was not her fault. She called HQ and was assured this would be taken care of in the next couple of days. Of course it was not. I called many times, sent text messages, sent emails. Of course I have all of these as proof, and this can be verified. I was being deceived and lied to, that someone needs to sign something, the check was sent via UPS but my address was not correct etc.. When the UPS point was verified to be false, as I have a UPS account and if anyone tries to send me anything via UPS I receive notification of what and when it will arrive - when I told her this, it turned out my address is ok and I actually got a check towards the end of June. However, this check was not for the agreed amount - a check for $1223 - the remaining amount $ 360 I have not received until today and it is now September 2016. When at the beginning of July 2016 I sent my last text to Sylvia, I received info that another check is being sent to me in the next couple of days - which turned out to be a lie as well.Maybe my case is not important, maybe the amount of money are not big, maybe the service provided by this dealer is normal to some - but to me all of this is not ok. If I got deceived in such a small case, then you may end up being deceived on a larger scale - think twice before going into the Autobarn.

Horrible experience - I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. My daughter and I came in to purchase her first car. She found the perfect car and we were ready to buy but was advised by the salesman due to her lack of credit to find outside financing. He said he would hold the car for us. When we offered to put a deposit down, we were told it was not necessary. We found financing at our bank no problem, and when we went back with the check in our hand we found out the car was sold in spite of the fact the salesman called us the day before saying it was at the dealership waiting for us. Then when we found another car on line (which they never told us about on that day) we were told the car was available and to come in for a test drive. When we were two blocks away from the dealership we received a call saying that car was being held for a friend of the owner. WHAT?? Apparently if you a friend of the owner your car won't be sold out from under you. When I complained to the manager and inquired why our car was not held for us but this one was being held for someone else, I was told that perhaps my type should go elsewhere to buy a car. What type is that? The car buying type? Which is just what we did. My daughter found the perfect car at Muller in Highland Park - and to top it off, we got excellent financing from them! Autobarn City needs to learn a lesson or two in customer service. Not only did they ruin my daughter's first car buying experience, they personally insult their customers when they are asked tough questions. It is well worth the drive to go to another dealership where the buyer is treated with respect.

Salesman had no idea about features of the VW they were selling. Sent in a second request and Mercedes also had no idea and didn't provide any information other than "car looks very nice". When asked to provide additional detailed information, I got no response. A followup message also got no response. If you want a dealership that is interested in selling you a car they know nothing about and will not extend any effort to help you, this is the place.

I chat with their agent online. The agent seems to be inpatient to my questions. She just answered my partial questions so I couldn't collect enough information and purchase that vehicle. I live far away from the dealer and that's why I have to get enough information and then make a decision.Since I contacted them, they don't give even a phone call. Instead, just few irrelevant, delayed emails. Today I just browse the website and find my interested vehicle is no longer there.

Just drove to Chicago (from DC) to pick up my new Golf R. Dominque Solano (sales) and Sylvia Nesheiwat (THE closer) were quite a team. I don't think I ever heard the word no. Traveling that far was a lot of extra stress, but the experience couldn't have been better......maybe closer.....but not better. Dominque KNEW the car. I find that unusual in most sales people. And Sylvia steered me in the right direction for finance and warranties without pressure. Both were top notch in my estimation.Happy motoring.Stephen

This was a great buying experience for me. I bought a Golf tsi, and it is my third Volkswagen. The first two were used and I bought them at a different Autobarn in the area. Those buying experiences were not fun, but I will say their service department has always been friendly and terrific (Mt. Prospect VW). At the Autobarn City VW I finally had a really awesome sales experience. I walked in out of the blue and was immediately greeted by Ricardo Layas. He is the epitome of a great car salesman! I definitely recommend making an appointment with him if you can. I also met two sales managers; Kyle and Claudio. Claudio finalized the deal, and it was a fair deal. Almost exactly what I wanted to spend, and what a relief that is! I also want to mention that I received a good price for my trade in. I took very good care of that car, it was a 2012 VW with 37,000 miles so that's why they saw value in it. What's really important is that I felt like I was dealing with very decent people. I was treated as a buyer in a good position to make a good deal, and I really appreciated that kind of respect. I haven't brought my new car in for service yet, but I was shown around the whole facility, including the service department. It looked large, clean and organized. And they have are ally comfortable, stocked waiting area, so going in for service and waiting doesn't look like it'd be too bad. Thank you Ricardo Layas, Kyle and Claudio! I'm enjoying my new car and you were all great to make a big purchase from!

I was in the market for a used Audi A7. Autobarn was one of 3 dealers who had the year, trim level and features that I wanted. The others basically said come in, etc., etc. Matt at Autobarn was patient, obtained a copy of the window sticker for me, took additional pictures for me, and we basically wrapped up the details of the transaction before I made the 10 hour drive from Georgia to Illinois. I would definitely recommend Matt and Autobarn for quality used vehicles, as well as any of their new car dealerships. They have knowledgeable staff and there's no high pressure sales tactics.

My wife and I stopped in the dealership to test drive the new Jetta S 2016. We were greeted by Ricky Espino who was very cordial and quickly setup a test drive. During the test drive he answered all our questions, showed and explained the new car functionalities and didn't rush our test drive. We had a budget set for our monthly payments. Ricky worked with us to get the best car value, he was very patient and respectful while working with us and once again answered all our questions. We asked for an itemized invoice which he provided and explained. We asked to test drive the car one more time before finalizing the purchase which he did. Overall a good experience - car buying is extremely over whelming so its nice to work with a salesman who's not too pushy and willing to work with you. My 2008 Mazda 3 was getting tired so it was time for a new vehicle. I started out at Autobarn Mazda, but hate the look of the newer Mazda 3 with it's growling grill. I've had 3 VWs before and thought I'd try again. Ricky was very helpful, low-key and not pushy at all. Being in the automotive industry I know how pushy & sneaky some dealers can be. It Made wanting to buy a car uneasy having to deal with people like that But, when I stepped into the dealer I was greeted by Dominique Solano and after talking for a bit those nervous feelings went out the door. I told her what cars I was interested in as I have been researching what I might like for a couple months. I saw a couple VW and even did a test drive still, was having trouble deciding we talked some more and she brought out a 2015 Toyota Camry. She was knowledgable and very down to earth. Never pushy we really explored different options.She made the whole process easy even with my 8month old baby being at the dealer for a couple hours feel like a walk in the park. To be honest, I have had terrible experiences at dealerships. I have been laughed at, looked down on and down right disrespected before. So honestly I expected the same thing to happen when I walked into this dealer 40 min before closing asking questions. I walked in and my salesman Ray was actually busy with another customer but he took the time to acknowledge me. Once he got to me, we sat down and talked and he was so professional but personable at the same time. Ray worked his magic and got me into my brand new VW Passat. It's a black beauty. Honestly, my fiancee and I would have not gotten the car had it not been for Ray. He was knowledgeable, personable, professional and I NEVER got the feeling that he was just trying to make the sale. My wife and I were looking for a replacement for her 2007 Dodge Caliber. We were looking for late model used. After some research we narrowed down our search to the Golf TSI (2015 Motor Trend Car of the Year, IIHS top safety pick). My fiance and I purchased a car back in December. The buying process was smooth and easy. However, getting ahold of anyone or getting a call back from this dealership is almost impossible. Our new car didn't come in for 3 weeks after purchasing and they made promises to us to make up the delay and now 3 months later we still are attempting phone calls and emails and getting nothing return. We love our car but poor customer service on their part.

If you are looking for a used car that is very clean, then City VW is a good place to start. Andre Jennings was nice and easy to talk to, Vince the manager said that building a relationship is important. I picked up a 2014 Jetta Hybrid that was very clean, and the right car. My wife loved working with Kissy the finance manager, Kissy was top notch, and was quick and new every answer to the questions asked. My wife said that Kissy helped to seal the deal and was very pleasant to work with. Negotiating was.... tough. We did purchase an extra warranty which I would recommend and Kissy was very helpful on explaining all of the options. The warranty is through AllState, and my friends at other dealerships said that AllState is very trustworthy. Thank you Andre, and Kissy

I walked into this dealership with the mind set that I will only see what they have to offer. I did not plan on walking out with a car. I spoke with a few people and I ended up getting a deal and help of a life time. This is the first time I have purchased a car through a dealer. I am 20 with no credit and I had no co-signer and they went above and beyond to get me in a car that I would enjoy driving, which I totally do, and the payments and all costs are really good actually for my kind of situation. So overall 10/10 pretty happy. I guess you could say I accidently brought a car (Only because they really did work with me) Yay! :)

Vw gti 2016 , , Autobarn has an unfair n deceptive practice the includes theft deterrent insurance , didn't notice when I was signing my paperwork ,and did not explain it , just notice when I got home I sign it . Its like they inserted the paperwork without the customer knowing that you trusted them that you were signing normal paperwork on the process , costing me $ 299.00 at the end , called the manager but he said it's like a doc. Fee , a complete lie.

I bought a Volkswagen Jetta from the Autobarn city Volkswagen last week. I am completely satisfied with my experience and my vehicle. The price of the vehicle is what brought me into the dealership; they had multiple vehicles of my liking and they were all in my price range. Initially I had the intention to purchase a Toyota Corolla, but going to the Autobarn helped me realize they had the better deal. I especially want to point out the staff of the Autobarn. When walking in my cousin and I were greeted by our very polite sales consultant- Dominique Solano. She was very helpful! I brought a used Jetta that I recently purchased to the Autobarn in Chicago. I was having an intermittent starting issue that a different dealer was unable to diagnose. All the employees were friendly and kept me updated on the status of my vehicle via text messages. I expected the car to be there for days, but they diagnosed the issue and had it repaired by the end of the day.

I contacted this dealer (from out of state) to purchase a certified pre-owned Touareg hybrid. I spoke with Darren the first day but never was in contact with him again. Rich, a finance manager there took my calls and we spoke over several days after I had filled out the credit application. I was told I was "on the backburner", that the customers in the showroom had to be dealt with first, and that he would "get to me eventually." That day never came. They ran my credit and never bothered to give me back any news as to whether I was approved or not for the vehicle finance. I sent an email to Darren, never heard back. This happened amidst the VW scandal. I thought they would have wanted to sell a car... I had no choice but to buy from somewhere else.

I own a 2003 VW Jetta GLX VR6. I've always owned VWs and I've always taken them to The Autobarn City VW for service. Recently I took my Jetta in for service and left confident that the problem was completely fixed. The service at City VW is excellent. That's why I continue to go there whenever I need service. That and my service guy, Conrad Swiatkowski. Conrad is an absolute asset to the City VW family. He knows VWs inside and out. Many times he diagnoses the problem before it gets to the technician. If he was not there, I would probably go someplace else. You can't go wrong with City VW. And they don't just service VWs. I've seen Audis and Porsches as well as other makes and models in there service department. When you take your VW, Audi, or Porsche to City VW ask for Conrad Swiatkowski. I guaranty you will be totally satisfied. And the waiting room is beyond compare.

I had called to possibly purchase a Volkswagen CC. Unfortunately I could not come in to view the car until the week after but the sales guy I talked to Ray Cotto was fantastic. He kept up to date with me and kept checking back in. The day I was supposed to view the car, someone else got there before me and was ready to purchase the car. Ray gave me a call to give me a heads up that there was another customer prepared to purchase that car the same day. Thanks to Ray I was able to get into the dealership on time, he worked out a great deal with his manager and I was able to drive out with my first car and not the other guy. I was greeted withing seconds of stepping into the door. Ray Cotto (the rep I worked with) was able to provide me with good advice/info for first time buyers (I had been leasing prior). He showed me two used vehicles that I was interested in and then worked with his manager to offer a lower price. I did not buy the car during my first visit. When I returned a week and half later he remembered me by name and also the car that I was interested in. Unfortunately that vehicle had been sold about 30 minutes prior to my arrival, but he showed me another great option that was very similar. He then worked with his manager again until about 2 hours after closing time to get me a better financing rate. Two days later I received a call saying that they were able to get me an even lower rate. Friends and family have always told me that buying a car can be a very stressful situation and to a certain extend it was, but Ray and his manager took a lot of time to explain the process to me without pressuring me. I definitely recommend adding the Autobarn City Volkswagen to the list of dealerships to visit for anyone in the market for a car.

Selected upwards of 5 dealerships in the Chicago-land area that I was looking to buy a 2014 Audi S4 from and this dealer was by far the best. The car had 8k miles on it and was factory/showroom new in condition. Not a flaw. That seems to be how they roll.During the sale, they were more than fair. Not the cheapest but then I wanted the best quality and that never is. After the sale Conrad in Service and Dan Keric and Thijs DeKool were 10 out of 10 for insuring my needs were met including even wrapping the car for protection while being delivered back to me in Ohio! What a great way to set the stage for delivery. Kudo's and thanks!Conrad even followed up with me one week later to insure the service work they performed (add ons) to the vehicle were 100% to my satisfaction.To all shopping for a car, understand they do what they say they are going to do. So I was searching for a low milage Audi Q5 and come across a car listed at Autobarn Volkswagen. I called and began speaking with Ray in Sales. Ray sent me some pictures and I decided that I wanted to purchase the car for cash. That's when things started to get strange, Ray asked me if I was going to purchase any extras when I said that it was a cash deal and that I would put down a $5000 deposit he told me to that someone had previously scheduled a test drive and was just arriving. He promised to call me back in an hour.After several hours, I called back and spoke with the sales manager. He told that he was sitting down with the buyer right now and they were purchasing financing and an extended warranty from him. I chalked it up to a bad luck and continued my search, After almost a week I noticed that the car was still for sale. I contacted the dealer again and spoke to an Otto(???) in sales. He told me the car was still available. I told him that I wanted to buy the car for cash. At that point he wanted to check with his sales manager to see if the car was still available. After this communication from Otto stopped.This was really strange so I changed my email and contacted them again. This time I spoke to Perry Kahkesh and yes the car was still available, Here is an excerptHi Perry:I would like to take delivery of the car Saturday I can get on a plane Friday night and be at your dealership the first thing Saturday morning with a certified check for $31,900. Alternatively, I can wire the funds to your bank account on Friday so that they will be in your account before COB Friday afternoon.His response: "Let me see if the car has not been sold yet and talk to my manager and get right back to you"At this point communication stopped with Perry. Now I was getting aggravated, I tried one more time this time with Thijs de Kool. Here is an excerpt from his intro email:"Thank you for your interest in the 2012 Audi Q5. My name is Thijs de Kool and I am one of the Sales Managers here at the Autobarn City Volkswagen. We do still have this vehicle in stock and ready to go. The 2012 Audi Q5 is an AMAZING car, and I am sure you will love it!!! Here is a link to more pictures and a free CARFAX report:"Once again, they will not sell the car for cash, communication stopped. I hava vw passat 2013 and when i purchase the car the sell person add all good can sell me and told me i am covered, My check engine light turn on when had 10k miles on car. For the next 30K its been on and off. When my car was 42k Miles finally they found the problem. $250 deduct. for my extendet warranty for sensor that cost $60 in parts store and $150 for check engine light check that is free in most parts stores. I try to cancel my extended warranty but VW never return my calls. I left the 4 massages. Also they change their policy i have to fix my car in the dealer i purchase the car from not the one next to my house in order my extended warranty to be valid. I had 7 new VW cars but i will never going to buy VW again. This Dealer had poor service.

I've bought 10 cars in the last 10 years... So I've met all different types of salesmen... Ray and kyle at city VW were awesome. These guys are here to sell cars. They don't play any of the silly, and somtimes, infuritating games I've seen other salesmen use. These guys sit down and work out a deal with total professionalism. What I really like about them, is that we worked out a deal in a very quick time frame. I hate it when dealerships and salesmen take forever in the whole back and forth game. Also they take you for a real test drive, not this take 4 rights around the block trash... Talk to ray at city VW, this guy will take care of you. We had a blast test driving cars, and when it came time to get down to buisness the experience was great. Theres a reason people talk to highly about city VW. This was my third VW purchase, from my third different VW dealership. This is THE VW dealship to buy from.

Came to look at a 2007 Honda CRV priced at $10,975.00 sales guy tells me it's in service waiting on an oil sensor but will let me see it and will check how long the wait is for the part. Sales guy brings over another guy who he introduced as the "used car sales manager" he then tells me the car was initially listed as is at that but since he is making it "more nicer" the price will be increasing to $12,900.00 we said thank you and left. Is this bait and switch typical? How replacing a oil sensor makes a car more nicer is beyond me. Very disappointed in the behavior of your employees. This car has been listed and still is on your site for the $10,975.00 price . Also googled and the oil sensor is $26. Wow!!!

I recently visited the Auto barn on Irving Park Road to pick up a new key to my mini van and have it programmed for my individual car. Bobby Koziol handled my case and did an excellent job. He was courteous and professional and made sure I knew how long to expect this job to take. He told me it would be about an hour and it took exactly that long. The bathrooms were undergoing a quick upgrade so there were alternate facilities on the premises. Bobby took the time to personally escort me to where the temporary facilities were. The waiting area is one of the nicest I've ever been in with fresh coffee, bagels and cream cheese and a large flat screen programmed to ESPN, not to mention free wifi. All dealerships should look like this. When the car was ready, Bobby Koziol personally came out and explained everything that was done to the vehicle and the price. The price was exactly what he told me it would be. Mr. Koziol was an excellent rep for the Auto barn and was very happy to lead me to where my freshly washed mini van was waiting for me.

My experience at the auto barn service department on Irving Park Road has always been very solid. This last time, the engine emissions light on the dash came on and I was able to make an appointment for that coming Saturday. Everything was checked and the transmission fluid topped off. The next morning the temperature was extremely cold and my mini van had difficulty going into 4th gear. I suspected the bitter cold thickened the fluid and impeded the flow. Conrad Swiatkowski got me right in without an appointment. He fully understood the issues and gave constant updates while I waited in the beautiful customer area. Conrad did a great job explaining what the techs did and found out and made sure I understood the diagnosis. In the end, the cost was very reasonable and I left the service department completely satisfied and assured the car was in good working condition.

Looking for a used VW. Trying to negotiate the price from the one they posted on both cars.com and their web(I think everybody will regard that price as the sticker price). But was told the price is 3500 more because the car is a certified pre-owned vw. They do reduce the price from (3500+price online) but hey, off couse I didn't make the purchase.If you want to sell the car for more money, you should just post the price you want.2 stars because the saleman contacted me via texting after I stated I prefer that way (I'm not an English speaker)

After having the clutch assembly, flywheel, and clutch master cylinder replaced at Fletcher Jones I never wanted to take my car to a dealership for anything whatsoever. The fact is with newer cars, especially German, no one knows them better than the dealers. AutoBarn City Volkwagen is by far a better experience. They competitively price their service and offer the same professional and courteous service as FJ VW without a "hand in your pocket". Additionally, at AB I was able to speak with the mechanic about the work as well as Conrad, who was able to explain knowledgably the deatails of the repair and why what needed to be done. I had my car in and out in one day knowing exactly what was done. After having FJ work on my car for 21 days, I didn't get much better prices at all, nor was it easy to be able to speak with someone who could competently explain the details of the repair. I would suggest to anyone in the Chicagoland area with a VW to take it to AutoBarn for their service less they have a family friend mechanic.

I called, I got a good price, I visited the showroom for a quick test drive, I chose the color I liked, and 200 signatures later I was on my way.The car buying experience shouldn't be any more complicated than that. I bought my VW in with an antifreeze leak. The gentleman said " Oh its your thermostat and it needs to be changed". Now to the tune of $500 I let them change it. I took the car home and didn't drive it for a few days. Went to pull out of my garage and more antifreeze than when I took it in for service. Took the car back and they said "Oh its just residual antifreeze leaking". And I said after 7 days? OK. Right. Took it somewhere else and its just a Heater core hose for $150. I just got cheated out of $350. I will never go back to this dealer again...

My Wife talked to Jack Wisznicki on the phone a few days before we were coming to Chicago. He was very helpful and came out and greeted us upon arrival. We traveled from southern Indiana and it was well worth the trip. My family and I were picked up at the train station by the dealership. The driver called just before we arrived and was there for us no waiting. We were greeted and treated with the up most of respect by Rick Ferraro. He brought the two Passat's up front for us to look at and test drive. He was very thorough and knowledgeable about the vehicle. He was very personable and courteous to our family. The car we decided upon needed servicing. It was a typical busy Saturday in the maintenance department. It was taking some time for them to get it in. He offered to pay for our lunch, which I declined, but I appreciated the gesture. They have several nice apple computers with big screens that gave my son something to do. Best experience with finance and a truly great Passat SLE premium. Merceedes you have been put on notice lol. VW is a better car for much less money

I bought a really rare 1 owner 2008 Porsche Cayenne S, 43000 miles with tons of amazing options: PDCC, PASM, panoramic sunroof, 20 inches wheel and etc.Everything went pretty smooth and the sales manager Adam even offered me 18 month 0% apr on a 7 year/100,000 miles warranty. Looking at a few different models with autobarn and have had very decent customer service with all of the sales representatives that's I have communicated with about the various features of the different models. Long story short: terribly bad experience with the service department--oil spilled and covered the entire engine compartment immediately after an oil change. The dealership did not check if there are any damages to the engine and there are still lots of oil residuals. And nobody apologized for their apparent fault.I have been to this dealership three times--one to purchase the vehicle and two for oil changes because of good reviews on Google. The sales person was very helpful, although we did not make a deal due to inventory issues. But it was overall a pleasant experience.However, service visits turned out to be catastrophic. After doing the first oil change at this dealership, I checked the oil level gauge on the cold engine, and it stayed close to MIN, a little far from FULL. It caused some doubts in me but didn't give any troubles, except for me keeping an extra bottle around just in case. They also carelessly screwed a new hole on the front bumper--just to frame my plate, tilted. So I have to take it off and tell them not to frame it again on the second oil change visit. It later turned out I have something much bigger to worry about: after getting the oil service as well as the fuel pump recall done at the dealership, my vehicle started to hesitate on my way back home. Seconds later the giant red oil pressure warning light came on. I immediately pulled the vehicle to the side and found oil spilled entire engine compartment. Oil gauge indicated engine has leaked to its empty. Waited another 3 hours to get the car towed back to dealership. Took the bus home and took the bus back on the second day. They claimed it was a bad oil filter seal that caused the issue. I am OK as long as the vehicle is checked and cleaned. But there are still lots of oil residuals in the engine compartment, struts, and undercarriage. I insisted to have the vehicle cleaned more thoroughly and check if there are any damages to the engine. They said they did their best and the mechanic who did the clean has "gone home". During the visit, nobody apologized for their apparent fault, either it be labor or parts, and guess what the best part is? They framed my plate again.

The car is now four years old and I recently brought it in to take care of a couple of issues. Kate Lech, the person assigned to me, consistently came into the customer waiting room (which was Wi-Fi enabled with tea, coffee and snacks...very cozy) to inform me about the progress of the car's repairs. I had a very pleasant experience at the Autobarn City VW. Kate Lech was very friendly, responsive, and helpful in working with my insurance claim. She was very communicative, and I always knew the status of my repair as it was in house. Though I didn't need a loaner vehicle for this visit, prior visits were made easy as well with shuttle service to and from my house, as well as frequent communications on the status of my repair. I came in for an "service express" oil change at 1030am for my gti. 90Mins go by and I ask what the status is...I look over the cashiers shoulder and I see my car being raised on the lift. She sends me to Bobby, I ask are they seriously JUST starting my oil change?? He said "yes, but they already did the visual walk around." So I sit back down, 10mins later Bobby comes out and says they found a nail in my rear passengers tire...I asked I thought they visually inspected it an hour ago?? I gave the 'ok' for a patch. 1:15pm I hear my name called, cars ready. So from 10:30am - 1:15pm it took them that long to patch a tire & change the oil. I asked Bobby why did it take 2hrs 45 mins for this? He said "I'm not sure why, but I'll be sure and give you a discount on your next service."NEXT SERVICE? NEVER WILL I EVER GO BACK THERE. also reporting this event to Volkswagen Of America.

I purchased my Volkswagen Passat at the Autobarn Evanston where I was extremely pleased, however, I have my car serviced at Autobarn City because it is more convenient for me. I was recently involved in an auto accident. I directed the auto body repair shop to have any mechanical repairs performed at Autobarn City VW. My car was taken to City where the steering issue was addressed and taken care of. While at City VW my service rep Kate Lech kept me informed of the problem and resolution. A complete inspection of my car was performed where a bubble in my rear tire was found. Kate call me to let me know they were ordering me a new tire under my tire warranty and she would call me when it came in. When I received my car back from the auto body shop I made an appointment and had my tire replaced. I have nothing but praise for the service department at City VW and would highly recommend them.

I have bought many cars through the years. This was by far the most pleasurable car buying experience we have ever encountered. I found the car that fit my internet search at The Autobarn City Volkswagen on Irving Park Rd. in Chicago. I was somewhat disappointed that we would have to go 70+ miles to buy a car, but it was well worth the trip!!! Prior to our trip, Sales Staff members and I had several conversations about the cars description, condition and the out of State buying procedure. When we arrived, everything was perfect. The car physically, visually and mechanically was excellent, as they said it was, and to our pleasant surprise, it even had a few more options than we had expected. This extraordinary Sales Team Lead by Mr. Drescher. Mr. Wisznicki, and Mr. Ford, were knowledgeable, professional and went above and beyond our expectations. Everyone there went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable, happy and more than satisfied. They showed us Great hospitality, product knowledge, consideration, and care for our concerns and desires. Their contagious enthusiasm made this buying experience and absolute pleasure. We were having so much fun, we actually lost track of time. Although they wouldnt admit it, I think they were actually waiting for us to leave so they could lock up and go home. They made sure, we were confident in the operation of all the options, gadgets and goodies before we left, and encouraged us to return should we need further assistance for anything. I was Looking for a 2012 Nissan Armada for the last few months. I saw one recently on the website for Autobarn Volkswagen in Chicago. My first communication was with Dominique at the autobarn. She was very helpful and answered all of my questions before I came in to meet in person. I had given her details on my trade in and when I went in the next day they stood by what they had told me in previous communication. I worked with Tommy Mulica at the dealership. Tommy was very helpful and knowledgeable and the purchase was a flawless process from first call to test drive to trade to approving financing. I also met GM, Daniel Dressher who thanked me for my business and thanked me for being a repeat customer- my previous purchase had been at Mazda auto barn in Evanston. We worked with Miki Kadric as our sales person, and then Adam Sanchez in finance. Miki was very friendly, but about what you might expect with a car salesman, a little fast-talking and pushy. But Adam was FANTASTIC. We left there feeling so great about our purchase. He was friendly and willing to explain and walk us through everything (this was our first car purchase) even though it was pretty late on a Saturday night. I didn't feel like he was trying to slide little extras into our contract, like you hear about at so many dealerships. We shopped around quite a bit before we eventually decided on a car, and never before had we come across with anyone as genuine as Adam in this industry. It really left us with a good feeling, like we had made the right (and SMART) decision. Honestly, if I could divide the above ratings between Miki and Adam, I'd have given Miki all 4s and Adam all 5s. He truly was exceptional. Thanks again, Adam!

I had an amazing experience at the Autobarn City Volkswagen. I walked in on a Saturday, was immediately greeted by Ray, my salesman, and was able to leave with a brand new Jetta within 2 hours. It was an extremely easy process and I was very pleased by the customer service and how easy the buying process was. I will definitely continue to lease my cars from here, return for service and send anyone interested in getting a new car here!

I was looking to purchase a used car & found a beautiful 04 Buick. Took it around the block, which is what they call a "test drive" (mistake #1) & the car drove smooth. The very next day, driving thru rush hour traffic, the trans started to shift hard. Took it back for "service" & supposedly it was fixed. WRONG!.. I took it back another time & same problem. That's when I should've of returned it for a refund... The 3rd time, (mistake #2, I should've requested a refund) they asked to take it to GM dealer to get fixed but somehow ended at a trans shop. One month later I got my car back... I do admit the service ppl (John) & other employees were very helpful.... I truly recommend if u wanna purchase a vehicle with them to take it for a good test drive for at least 30mins or longer. Not around the block. If it weren't my love for the Buick, I would've requested a refund. U have 96hrs to return for full refund. REMEMBER TO READ RETURN POLICY.

I originally purchased my Jetta at Fletcher Jones and while I enjoyed my purchase there, the service department was abysmal. I brought my Jetta to Autobarn for service and had some follow-up questions on some issues that I was having with the car. The service manager Conrad addressed all of my concerns and was fabulous to deal with. I will work with Autobarn for service from now on and may purchase my future vw from there!

This is the best autoservice I've ever recieved. Conrad, the service consultant, was very knowledgeable and honest. The service provided by him was outstanding and extremely informative. This is the second time I make deal with Tommy! He is a really really nice guy! First, I bought a Audi A5 from him in February. I have been to a lot of dealers to see cars but after I met Tommy I think I will buy the next car from him! And now I trade in my A5 and buy this Audi A7 from him. Tommy is really helpful! I just bought certified 2010 VW Golf from this dealership. Dora followed up with my requests immidiatly with professional knowledge about buying process and requirements. Ray who took care of me during the buying process and he knew everything about the vehicle. I took my CC in for service at Autobarn City VW and once again Conrad Swiatkoski the service manager gave me a great service experience . I was quoted for the work and given a time frame for when the work will be done since I waited and sure enough they finished my service and I paid the quoted amount I was told. They are two other VW dealers like Fox Valley VW and Larry Roesch VW that are nine miles or less from where I live in Bloomingdale , but when I went to those dealership to get service done on my past VW"s I was treated like a number and not like family how Autobarn City Volkswagen and Conrad Swiatkoski with great service crew . I don't mind driving 25 miles one way from Bloomigdale to City VW because I know I will get great service and fair pricing on all my VW's .

I've had a check engine light come on on my 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. Called Autobarn City Volkswagen to see if i can bring it in for service. I had the pleasure to talk to Conrad, who was very forthcoming and was able to take my car in for service. The turn around was only a one day since a new part had to be installed. When I've returned the next day, the car was ready, washed and had the oil changed a month before being due. Conrad explained me exactly what failed and sent me on my way. Great customer service! Will be back again for sure!

I purchased a Certified used 2013 VW GTI from Autobarn City VW. After a long search, nationwide I found the car I wanted at Autobarn City VW. I emailed and called the dealership, initially I had a little difficulty over the phone; just a miscommunication. A few day later Chris Strozyk (the General Sale Manager) and Derik Strenzel called me and we worked out a deal. Both of these guys are stand up guys and made the buying process a good experience for me. The dealership picked me up at O'Hare airport, they were very nice to me the entire time. Derik and I looked the car over and took it for a test drive; the car exceeded my expectations. Chris made sure that all of the details of the deal were met. I was treated very well the entire time I was at Autobarn City VW. They helped me buy a car, unseen, from such a long distance. Derik showed me all the different functions of the GTI (Bluetooth, GPS, etc). Derik is a great salesmean, especially since he has only been with City VW for 6 weeks. Chirs and Derik helped me with directions out of Chicago and I drove home 750 miles to SC. It was a great experience, I recommend working with Chirs and Derik.

Just bought a lovely, shiny almost-new Beetle from Ray and the experience was pretty awesome. The original service was alright but after having tire issues soon after leaving the dealership I was initially turned off. The dealership did a great job, however, in working with me to remedy the situation and eventually took care of the tires altogether. I was impressed that when I expressed my disappointment about the experience they quickly moved to help me as customer loyalty appears to be an important aspect of their business. I was especially pleased that the owner himself actually reached out to me in order to see how he could improve my experience rather than simply asking someone else to take care of it for him. Overall, this turned out to be a very good car buying experience.

If they had more salespeople like Dominique, they would have no problem selling vehicles. My overall experience was good thanks to Dominique who was knowledgable and friendly. Finally, I found my dream car!I was dreading buying a car after my Audi was stolen, but I couldn't be any happier with my experience with Miki Kadric and Autobarn City VW. Miki and his manager Chris bent over backwards to make me happy, and did it with no pressure at all.I came in to the dealership a bit overwhelmed from other dealers, and Micky put me at ease, walking me through some options and dealing with my uncertainties. I put him through the ringer, but he stuck with me, and took the time and effort to obtain the only version of my car available in the TriState area - a 2013 Black 6-speed manual CC.I love the car, I love the deal we made, and Miki and Autobarn City VW have made a customer for life. It was a bit of a journey trying to get my Certified Pre-Owned Beetle convertible, and it was worth every moment! Allen is a pro at what he does. He is knowledgable, friendly, supportive, and not pushy. He did everything possible to make this transaction happen, including picking me up from the train station (after a 7 hour ride to get there) and making sure I had a hotel to stay in before my journey home. The car was in excellent condition, and not only Allen, but several people there seemed happy for me and with my purchase...from the awesome detailing work that was done, to the financing team. I would totally recommend going here for a new or pre-owned VW! They KNOW what they are doing, and they don't just go for your money, they truly care about what's best for YOU as a person.

Ray C. is amazing. I have never had such a great experience buying a car. I drove an hour and a half to look at a 2009 VW Jetta TDI with low miles and all the bells and whistles. It had sold that morning.....I was going to leave and Ray asked me what it was I liked about that vehicle. My main concern was gas mileage but I also wanted a luxury feel. He rolls out a 2011 Jetta with low miles and all the bells and whistles. I was unsure about the color blue and wanted to go to lunch and think about it. Not only did Ray want to buy me lunch, which I politely declined to discuss the deal in private, but they let me take the car to go have lunch and ponder the purchase!I browsed through the dealerships inventory via their website and picked a few more cars to look at. When I got back Ray was more than happy to narrow down the new choices, even showing me the backseat room difference between the 2009 and the 2011. Sold. He nailed it the first time, however, the important part was that he was patient with me in making sure I wanted that to be my final decision. So once again, GO SEE RAY C. He followed up with me TWICE and came through on promises he made. I love my car and am more than pleased. A M A Z I N G.

This review is not at all intended for the dealership itself. This review is based on the expert super satisfactory experience that I had with Allen Horvath. I called just as the dealership opened at 9:01am and Allen was the only sales person in office. I am so very happy that he was the one. I assured him that I would be in for a no haggle car buying experience and that I was a current VW owner. I explained to him exactly what I wanted and he made sure to follow-up with emails of cars that he had on the lot. I got there intending to get a Jetta and he had several for me to test drive. Unfortunately, I am very picky and did not want either of the cars that we had pre-discussed. Allen was very patient and sat me down to view more cars online. I found her the best Passat ever! Allen was just as excited as I was and took me on the tour. He was kind, HONEST (hard to find in a car salesman) and direct and to the point just like I wanted. I so appreciate him helping my family find the right vehicle at the right price. I love VW but, for sure if Allen would go anywhere else I'd have to follow. GREAT, PROFESSIONAL, HONEST car salesman. we found this dealer by searching for a hard to find 2003 Audi RS6. They had one that looked very good by all the pictures, so we called to ask a few more questions about the car before going all the way up to Chicago to get it ( we were coming from Texas). After asking all the questions we could think of, we made the decision to go get it. When we arrived at the dealer i could have not been more happy with the service we got, they had all the paper work ready, after the test drive was over we took care of all the paper work and was done with it in about an hour. Mickey was who we delt with, he was extremely helpful throughout the entire thing, answered any quesitons we had. after we left the dealer (about 5 hours outside of Chicago) the alternator went out on the car. long story short Mickey got it worked out to have the car towed to St Louis, have it fixed, flew us home due to the shop not having parts, and worked it out for us to go back to St Louis to get the car. I could not be happier with the service we got, and how everything worked out. Mickey is one of the best car salesmen i have ever delt with, once again could not be happier with the service we got.

Went in on a Saturday since I was interested in purchasing a used Jetta. I was immediately greeted by Micky who showed us what he had in stock. We found the car we wanted within minutes and after a test drive and some good conversations with Micky we finally decided to purchase the car. Great Dealership, great employees and not pressure atmosphere. The prices are also very competitive, we were hard pressed to find a better deal in Chicago or outside of Chicago for that matter. The Autobarn VW on Irving Park was very helpful in getting me into my fIrst car. They have plenty of cars in inventory, everyone is very friendly and helpful, and their showroom is very comfortable. I was approached by Miki Kadric, who instantly made me feel as if i was in the right place at the right time. We discussed the car I wanted and he had us take one for a test drive. I would like to begin by saying that I have never had such a hassle free, stress free experience when buying a car before. I have been a loyal 19 year customer of Family Hyundai in Tinley Park, IL. I never thought that I would purchase anything other than a Hyundai, but the staff at The VW Autobarn have changed all that. The VW Autobarn staff was extremely accommodating. I wasn't sure what vehicle might fit me, but my sales associate Ray was very helpful in finding the car that I would love for years to come. Best car buying experience ever. My husband and I came in to buy a VW Tiguan. We live in Indiana, so we wanted to make sure we could get it for the price we wanted before driving an hour and a half to get to the dealership. The salesman worked with us over the phone to make sure that that happened. Once we got there, Allen was just so nice to us. He was genuine, funny, actually listened to us, and worked with us on the price we got for my husband's trade in. For the first time in my life...seriously...I left a car dealership feeling GOOD. I did not feel taken advantage of. Also, as a side note, I normally feel like I should bring a guy with me to a dealership to avoid getting gouged. I did not feel that way at the Autobarn. I am looking to trade in my car for a new one, and I would feel completely comfortable going to this dealership and working with Allen by myself. Five stars!!

From the first step I took thru the door I was greeted by an astonishing young women named Dominique! Not only was she able to talk intelligently about the VW but also about the comparable cars in the class with out having to talk down on them. Randy Gibson is the best car salesman I have ever had. I just leased my third Jetta from him. I've been working with him for 6 years now. He is so amazing. Not only is he knowledgable about all VW cars and SUVS, but he makes sure that he finds the right car for you that works with your price range. He actually LISTENS to his customers. Most car salesmen just want to make a deal that is good for them. Randy really cares about his customers satisfaction. He is comfortable to be around and does not try to rush you.Whenever I need anything or have a question, I know Randy is a phone call away. Pathetic after sales service from Autobarn City Volkswagen.I and my husband purchased a subaru STI from this dealership. We were talked to buy all the additional warranties provided with the vehicle. But after going home and doing the calculations on interest it was found that adding the extra options were not worthy. We contacted the dealership the very next day to have the warranty cancelled. We were told it has been taken care of and it will take 6 weeks for this to get reflected in the loan account.It has been been more than 2 months and this never happened. The warranty is said to be cancelled but I dont know where the money went. I end up with no idea where the money is and is paying the interest for warranty amount.We are going to lodge a complaint in BBB.

We had a wonderful experience from the time we walked into the store, until we drove out and all encounters since have been met with the same sincere welcome, courteousness and professionalism. Alex knows his business. he knows the vehicles and he was extremely professional, courteous and sincere.My husband and i came to the store based on a Costco recomendation. Alex called us and we came in and found this young man to be the epitomy of customer service. He was attentive and extremely knowlegeable about the vehicle and my husnband, a car enthusiast and Volkswagon CC "lover/expert" was very impressed.We live on the other side of the sity and made our way to this store. I just came over from Europe and had no social security number and hence no credit or credit history. So I had to take everything I just got as salary from my company so far. That was not much, but I needed at least a temporary car to transport some furniture. I visited some other dealers already, but they had no car offerings for the money I had in my pocket and without credit option nobody saw a chance. I came to Autobarn and Randy Gibson showed me one car that was available for the price I could afford. Right in the moment as we wanted to start for a test drive, it turned out that this car was already sold. Randy searched a long time for another car in that price range, but couldn't find any. So, he finally selected one for a higher price and offered it to me for the money I had, including tax an car insurance! Of course, it was an older car and probably needs some service, but well, it gets me from A to B. That's all I've expected. After a test drive I was happy. All this took a little bit longer and Randy brought me Pizza and something to drink while he was taking care of all the paperwork. Finally, he even arranged all the paperwork for the car insurance. After 4 hours everything was ready for me to drive with an own car.I really appreciate all the time and patience Randy had with me and my special problems and he finally found a solution for everything. He might not have made his biggest deal that day, but he receives my strongest recommendation for all the lovely details I received from him. I really like it in the US, where you can make everything if you want - sometimes even without SSN! Many thanks Randy. - Mat

Allen Horvath and his manager helped me a lot to work out financing for the car I want to purchase. Also, they explained all detail including the car I used to have. I used to have Toyota Prius from one of Toyota Dealer. I found that there was an accident on the car. When I got a car, that dealer sales person never disclosed this fact. It was very disappointment how Toyota did to me. Yet, Allen Horvath showed me and explained about the car accident history and that's the reason value of car goes down. In fact, I have to pay more on the car. All shopping experience at this dealer was very satisfy.

This was a buy from NYC, NY and the dealership made it easy. Thomas, Dora and the financing team made the buying process easy and smooth. Thomas was very helpful in providing answers about the 1994 Toyota Supra even with text messages and FaceTime. The car shipped with all paperworks as promised. I am very happy with the advertised car and the transaction. I would recommend this dealership to anyone!

It took a couple of tries to find a good salesperson, but once we did the process was very easy. I talked to the sales manager, Jack and explained what we needed to accomplish- getting a lot of the details figured out online and by phone. He was really easy to work with and the salesman, Tommy did a great job going over the car features and options. I love City VW for Service and was glad to get a new car here.

Everyone at this dealership seems to be very courteous, professional and enthusiastic about helping customers. My salesman was Michael Colgan, and he certainly made my visit and subsequent purchase of a used car a very pleasant experience. He allowed plenty of time for a good test drive, going over the various features of the car, and followed through with the paper work in an efficient manner. His warm personality shows that he enjoys his work and accommodates his customers in any way that will make their visit more comfortable. I was impressed with this dealership overall!

Saw a listing for a 05 used saab 9-2x in their inventory and decided to check it out. Upon 1st test drive I noticed the car was pulling to the right and there was a burning smell from the engine, either oil or coolant. Advised the sales person to have their on site mechanic take a peek into what they could find as I am interested in moving forward. As the vehicle was being sold as is, I further mention my interest in having my own mechanic view it also. Upon returning couple days later for test drive #2, I was assured there was nothing found out of the ordinary. After roughly 5 mins from leaving the lot, smoke was emerging from under the hood, and even as bad as to come into the car via the ventilation system. I called and advised the sales person of this problem and was informed it was run off. Upon my mechanic's inspection, he confirmed the engine was leaking oil and that was the cause of the smoke. Now back to the dealer, I informed them of my mechanic's findings. Finding my mechanics information rather unimportant, I was reassured every vehicle for sale at this location was subjected to a 120pt inspection. Clearly they missed one of the most important aspects of this vehicle, the motor. Appalled by this information, I questioned a few ideas. If this vehicle was subjected to a 120pt inspection, then why did my mechanic, myself, and even the sales person notice a burning smell? How could a vehicle that is leaking oil and smoking pass this inspection and be suitable for sale? I appreciate the time and effort for the individuals to take their time to try and sell me a car, but they should be ashamed of their "pushing the dust under the rug" methods. Clearly I will not be purchasing from this location ever.

I purchased a 2009 Audi A6 from this location 4 weeks ago. The dealership still owe me $700 for a mishap on their part regarding the payoff on my trade in. I placed several calls to the finance manager, sales representative and manger. They have not called me back at all over the past 2 weeks. I would never buy from these guys again if they were the last dealership on planet earth. I will pursue what they owe through an attorney.

Recently the autobarn dealer has been getting some very awesome cars in like the Lancer Evolutions and Subaru Sti's. Ive been in the market for a while for one so I just had to call in and buy one. I was greeted by Roman, who seemed to know ALOT about every one of the evo or sti's in stock. All of them looked great, and the two I drove seemed like the past owners took care of the cars. I settled on an EVO, we agreed to the price, and that was it. No fees, no extra hidden costs nothing. Im still driving the car today with no problems.

* Purchased low mileage, warrantied BMW M3, traded in BMW 335 in good condition.* After 30 minutes of negotiating and a test drive, they demanded my credit card as collateral to keep moving forward. At that time I should have walked out.* Sales staff / management provided me a carfax history report indicating it had been in a relatively small accident.* Sales staff / management assured me that the car had been certified by their mechanics and was in like-new condition. A visual inspection and test drive gave me no evidence of hidden damage.* I was an out of town customer, and wanted to return to have the car checked out by an independent BMW mechanic.* Again, I was assured the vehicle was in excellent condition. * Finance manager charged me a very low fee for my license plates, which I raised the issue right away but he said his figures were correct.* One week after the purchase, the finance manager called me and demanded about $500 more to cover the cost of the license plates. He told me he would not send my license plates unless I paid the money. Keep in mind I had a signed, legal document stating the transaction was complete. By law, I owed them nothing. However, I sent in the money as I consider myself an honest person. I did not receive my license plates for TWO months (even though they charge $50 for 'expedited' delivery). I was driving with expired temporary tags for many days.* Upon my first oil change, my local, trusted BMW dealer indicated that the vehicle had hidden damage near the fender. Although it worked, the headlight was simply sitting in place and not fastened to the car itself. Also, the oil line running to the engine was pinched. Cost of the repairs was $2000.* I tried reaching the Autobarn (everyone from my salesman to the general manager) and no one would return my phone calls. * I engaged the Better Business Bureau and the Illinois Attorney General for assistance.* The BBB provided not much help, but the Attorney General got their attention.* The Autobarn did not stand by the product they sold me. It was obvious that they knew the car was damaged and did not want me to get the car checked out by my mechanic. They lied profusely about the condition of the car and guaranteed it was in perfect condition.* In their response to the Attorney General, they said they "gladly welcome anyone to have cars checked out at an off-site mechanic." That is precisely what didn't happen - it was highly discouraged. They also claimed that I was "ignorant" about the purchase. (their own words).I would absolutely stay away from this place!!! It is full of lying crooks from the salesman to the dealer principal. I've never been treated with such disrespect, especially after purchasing a very expensive vehicle and sending them the additional $500 for my license plates. Dealing with these guys was an absolute nightmare the minute I drove the car off the lot.

The was my first Volkswagen. I was apprehensive walking into the office/showroom as I've heard about the circling sharks! I can honestly say I didn't feel at all pressured. As this was the first time I was buying a brand new car on my own I had lots of questions. The guys at the dealership were very professional and too my surprise HONEST. They went over everything with me and I left feeling confident about my purchase and that I received a great/fair price. My trade-in was on its last leg and my sales rep actually drove with me back my place to pick it up for me as I wasn't sure it would make back to the dealership. Tommy was a great salesrep and made the whole experience hassle free and positive. I highly recommend this dealership and am looking forward to utilizing it for the future maintenance and upkeep of my vehicle.

I am writing this review to just warn people about this cheap, full of lies dealer. I was looking for an upgrade to my car and unfortunately the car i was looking was available at this place. After purchasing $ 40K car from them, company started showing their true colors. First the finance guy Al Hassan he showed his true colors, he showed his colors, he was quoting me very high interest rate, after negotiating brought it down significantly, and i told him ill shop around for lower interest and wait for before locking me in, which he said he will wait. I found lower interest rate and when i got back to this finance guy, his answer was i sent those paper without even my permission, and i called bank where Mr Hasan sent the papers, and bank told me they never received papers and it took more than a month for the bank to receive papers. I had to refinance my loan to lock into lower rate. Then this company never paid my bank full trade in amount, and had to call them repeatedly to get my money back. This dealer also sells a protection plan for lost key, dent removal, tire protection which looks very helpful but i strongly recommend not to get it, because this company never backs up what they offer. I requested second key for replacing lost key they told me i have to go Audi, pay from my pocket. Then i had dent on my car, which i thought i will get it removed from this dealer as they claim it is included in protection plan, result I have been calling them for last ten days, every day i hear the guy who does the job is not their guy, he is coming today, tomorrow. I am really disappointed with this dealer, I wasted a good amount of money and the frustration of dealing with them is unaccountable. I don't recommend this at all. Don't waste your money and time with dealer.

This was probably the easiest car buying experience I ever had. Worked out price over the phone, flew into Chicago on Saturday and drove the car back to North Carolina that afternoon. Everyone we dealt with at the dealer was extremely helpful and made us feel at home. The salesman Allen Horvath was no pressure and made sure everything I ask about was taken care of. I would not hesitate to buy from the AutoBarn again.

Purchasing a new vehicle is always a difficult decision. Not at The Autobarn City Volkswagen. I had the pleasure in meeting Allen Horvath from their Sales Department. From the beginning, Allen made me feel very welcomed and relaxed. From the test drive all the way through the end, Allen gave me very unbiased professional feedback on the vehicle and services offered at The Autobarn City Volkswagen. He was very honest when I asked specific questions about the car he didn't know the answer to, but made the effort to research it further. I appreciated that honesty as many other places would simply make up any answer to satisfy the customer. I especially appreciated the level of explanation of every step of the car buying process. Along with Allen, the General Manager went through with fine detail the transfer of plates, extended warranty options, dealer services provided, and financing options. All in all, purchasing a vehicle at The Autobarn City Volkswagen was a seemless professional process that put the customer first. I recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase a used or new vehicle.

I had a check engine light come on in my 02 Passat, brought it in to autozone, got the trouble codes, then took the car to city vw where I bought the car. Maciej greeted me in the service bay, took good care of me, was friendly, honest, and kept me up to date on the work and finally waived the diagnostic fee for getting the work done there... Will definitely return directly to Maciej in the future if I ever need service. Was also knowledgeable in the 4motion awd system when I asked about it.

I had a great service experience at Autobarn City VW. I took my 09 VW CC in since the trunk senor and the rear tail lights were out . From the moment I was greeted by the service staff I felt like I was not just a customer but part of a family on my needs for the service that day for my car . I live in Bloomingdale IL which is about 38 miles round trip from my house to Autobarn City VW and I went to Fox Valley VW in Schaumburg which is only 9 miles away from where I live but I was not treat with any kind of courtesy at all when I was there over the summer just one time . I felt like I was just another dollar sign to this dealership which is the reason I will always get all my VW's service at Autobarn City VW . I wanted thank Conrad Swiatkowski for taking the time out to explain my services I will be getting and any other needs that I want to address for the car .

I thought everyone was very friendly but not pushy. Roman took us over to see the cars and it was very cold out so he went around to turn them on for us which we though was very nice. They were able to work with us on price and everyone stayed late, I think until 10:00 to get everything done. They helped me move everything from my old car into the new car even though it was so late. We left feeling very good about our decision even though we had not intended to necessarily get a car that night.

This dealership gives great service! I have never had a complaint in the three years I have owned a Volkswagen. I live on the other side of the city and I still come here when my car breaks down. They are willing to drop you off and pick you up from your home, which really helps if you have only one car and it's getting repaired.Recently, my car had engine troubles. John Nichols, an employee at the dealership, made a complicated problem much easier to understand. He was very personable and honest, suggesting affordable options to fix my engine. Great place to go for any Volkswagen repair!

I've had nothing but bad experiences with AutoBarn. The salesmen were pushy and added charges that I did not find out about until after the fact. I'm a Wisconsin resident and have had many problems with my title, taxes and registration. AutoBarn also got my address wrong for financing so my first knowledge of lien came as a "you're payment is late" phone call from PNC. AutoBarn has not been helpful at all; HORRIBLE customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place to an enemy.

We just purchased a used car from Autobarn VW Chicago and really had a great experience. Our sales person Tanja Jeftnic was very professional and a joy to deal with, her sales manager Ron was not pushy and got us the monthly payment we wanted. Even the Finance person was incredibly helpful and really made the process enjoyable and trust me, I hate buying cars. Everyone we dealt with, including the car ports, where very helpful and professional.They had allowed us to take the car overnight, so I could have my mechanic look over the car, which was very helpful. I would not have even considered buying the car without having it checked. Our mechanic said the car was in very good shape and was a good deal. My only recommendation - when we drove our new car off the lot, it would have been nice to have a full tank of gas. No big deal, it just would have been a nice touch. I am excited that they will wash my car for free as long as I own it, though! Overall, we had as great experience and I would recommend this dealership if you are looking to purchase as car.

Went and looked at a car late Saturday evening. I liked the car and agreed I would purchase, but asked to come back on Monday to see it in the daylight. Sales guy said he agreed it would be best for all and had my cell number if there was any issues. I called Monday morning and he said 'sorry another person is here and its sold". He said the GM would call to discuss what happened, but didnt. Waste of time and very unprofessional/shady dealer.

These guys are GREAT. When you go, I would recommend that specifically ask for Randy. He is not a high pressure guy. He offers options and gives you time to think things over. He spends the time with you and offers suggestions. (i.e. how important is gas milages, comfort, price, etc. How long are you planning on owning the car, Is the car still going to satisfy you and meet your needs in 2 years, 5 years, etc.) Randy recognizes that you are going to be spending a lot of money and he helps you work through your options. Ron and Melissa were just as helpful for their part. But Randy really made the deal...I unconditionally recommend his service and this dealership to everyone. This dealership is about 40 miles from the house and easily worth the drive.

My wife and I visited the Autobarn in search of a used vehicle. We left with a great car at a great price. The service Miki Kadric provided was outstanding. He listened intently to our needs and had a great deal of knowledge about the vehicles we looked at. The buying process was a bit slow, but it was a small price to pay for getting the vehicle we wanted. The facility is very nice with attentive staff.

I had purchased a used 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan at The Autobarn City Volkswagen, 5330 W. Irving Park Road. From the moment we walked into the dealership my husband and I was welcomed and treated with a great deal of professionalism and respect. The service we received from the salesperson Randy Gibson was excellent. It was the first time purchasing a vehicle from Autobarn City Volkswagen. While there were a few obstacles along the way, Randy was supportive and encouraging. He was courteous, friendly and it was the most professional manner extended to us as we toiled over the decision to purchase the vehicle. I have to admit that purchasing a Volkswagen at Autobarn City with sales professionals such as yours was one of the most gratifying experiences we have had. Our salesperson Randy took his time with us and was patient - to be sure we got the right vehicle for our needs. The finance department was a pleasure to deal with as well. We never felt pressured. He took us through the financial contract and extended warranty portion, which we also purchased, with expert care and professionalism. Knowledge of the product made us feel comfortable that the dealership I was dealing with was intrested in meeting my expectations. I have enjoyed getting to know the dealership ad the associates. Now that I have had my vehicle for a week I am convinced that I not only made the right decision about my vehicle, but about the dealership as well. I went into the dealership to turn in my 2011 leased Jetta for a new 2013 lease. The Sales Consultant Javier Reyes was AMAZING!! He truly went above and beyond and exceeded all of my expectations! He was a delight to work with and one of the nicest most sincere people I have met working in sales. I could tell he really cared about me as a customer He did not pressure and he was very honest and patient with me during the process. The Sales Manager Ron Maday was awesome. He really worked hard to get me what I wanted and I really could not be happier. I cannot say enough about how pleasant my experience was. The finance guy Al was amazing as well. Every single person that I met at the dealership was very welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be back for my next car and I will try to refer as many people as I can. Alex was very helpful and professional. Really good sale's associate to have working for you. Overall appearance of dealership needs a little work. I understand being outdated but the staff needs a little more refining. No need for shirts to be un-tucked in plain view of customers and no need for employees to carry themselves in the same manner as they would if at home.

Maciej Skwiot was excellent to work with in purchasing a new VW Golf. He quickly understood what we were looking for and didn't play games. There was no up-selling or pushiness involved. He just worked hard to help us find the car we wanted and was an all around decent guy buy a car from. On our first test drive we had to stop for gas; it was a really hot day and after paying, Maciej came back to the car with Gatorades all around. It's a small thing, sure, but it was indicative of how we were treated through the whole experience, and part of why we'd come back.

As a first time new car buyer, I didn't know what to expect when I walked through the doors. Alex was the first one to come over to me and ask if there was something in particular that I wanted. I said yes and we sat at his desk. He was a very nice and friendly guy who knew the answer to every one of my questions. After settling on the car, trim, options, and color that i wanted, we began the paperwork. Unfortunately for me, the color I wanted wasn't available, but Alex made sure he would find another car with all the same options but with my back-up color. Still, that wasn't possible, but he was able to get me a car with my third choice color. Overall, I'm very happy and I had an excellent experience. After my initial phone conversation with Mickey, I decided to come in to take a closer look at the car I had in mind. Mickey was very informative and easy to work with throughout the process. We went out for a test drive and he related similar car experiences and ideas while giving me the information I desired. His honest approach helped ease me through this difficult decision and time. He made me feel very comfortable during the entire process and didn't force anything on me. After walking through my options, Mickey and I were able to come to a logical decision which was to purchase the car I had come in to see. Overall, a very very positive experience. I will recommend Mickey to my peers that may need a car in the future as well as myself when the next car comes around.

Visited the Autobarn looking to trade in for a used Jetta.There were a major hick up during my first visit but John assured me he would do everything to try and find another solution. I received a call from John 3 days later to inform me that he, in fact had found a solution and a much better one than the original. These guys are fantastic. This is hands down the best car buying experience I've ever had. I had applied online in advance to prequal the 0% financing that VW was offering. I was approved by Volkswagen, however due to my score being a few points off the A1 threshold I was approved for 1.99%. I had spoken to Ron (the manager) on the phone before coming in just to let him know about the online application and that I want to make sure I qualified for the 0%. He said he'd take care of me. I'm a sales guy so I know the game pretty well. I was expecting the hard sale tactics, the back and forth, the bait and switch and went in with my guard up.I asked for Ron and he had me work with Mickey Kadric. Mickey was a real joy to work with. He is a real people person and related extremely well to my father, my wife, and myself. I told him what I wanted and they got it done, poor guy worked through his lunch and made sure he found the exact car I wanted, a new 2012 GTI with 0% financing. I gave Mickey a hard time off the bat with a "true price" quote I had received from another dealership. We found the car I wanted, however not the financing. Ron said he was gonna make some calls and do everything in his power to get me to 0%. I was getting hungry and agreed that I would get a bite to eat and come back. (Seriously what dealership let's somebody whose serious about buying a car leave) Ron went to work on the phones and worked his magic and exceeded my expecatations. He called me halfway through my lunch and shared the great news that he was able to get me the 0% that was so important to me. I went back in and didn't even have to hassle for price. They gave me a better price off the bat then even that "true price" site offered. The price was so good that my dad whose bought dozens of new cars in his lifetime said, "my god, don't even negotiate, take it."I got everything I wanted and more, and these guys are geniunie. They are really in the business of exceeding customer expectations. Mickey is a real true professional and made the horror of car buying a pleasant expreince. Ron is an absolute magician and has earned a customer for life. I promise you, this is an unbiased honest review. These guys will take care of you. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new volkswagen. My sister needs a new car, and I'm sending her to Mickey. P.S. Not to knock other dealerships, but I drove past the Autobarn Evanston out to the city just because I read good things online (all true) and past mediocre experiences at the latter.

I had a purchased a 2012 Tiguan about three months ago. It was in the shop half the time I owed it. I was very unhappy with it. The guys in service were wonderful in trying to help. At that point Damien got involved in correcting the problem. Damien, Kyle and Mickey did a fantastic job in trying to keep me calm and making me happy. Damien with his team listened to all my concerns and wanted to meet all my expectations. I traded my 2012 tiguan for a 2012 touareg. I went into the dealership as I received a promo letter regarding my 2009 Eos and that the dealership was in need of used vehicles. Naturally I went in to inquire as to what type of monies they were willing to give me on a trade in or an outright purchase of my vehicle. Within the half hour I was test driving a new 2013 Beetle and shortly after working out a "deal" to purchase it. No hard Sale tactics or pressure. Only congenial bantering. The sales staff were ALL friendly, the finance person that I dealt with, Al; was very informative and friendly as well as the management team. In the following days I had reason to speak with the finance gentleman again and again nothing to do with my financing but questions and issues that I was having with my former dealership regarding cancelling my extended warranty. Again Al was very helpful.This is my third VW purchase over the years and I would stronly recommend this dealership over others.

Mickey Kadric is great! Just bought certified prenowned Routan sold by Mickey Kadric. He really made a difference in car purchasing experience for me. My husband and I went just walked in to the dealer to buy a car, Routan, on a Saturday, two days before Labor day. We did not even know VW made mini vans but also popular. The car we wanted was just sold. We were both pretty disappointed. But Mickey and his manager Ron located another same Routan for us and brought it in that evening and have ready for us on a Labor Day. Both of us really appreciate Mickey and Ron for coming to work on Labor Day, really work the numbers with us. Also, Finance manager, Al was great with answering all of our questions. Everyone at the dealer, all the salesmen to cashier always smiles all the time made us feel very comfortable. Even, mechanics I bump into in a hallway were friendly. Maciej Skwiot was excellent to work with in purchasing a new VW Golf. He quickly understood what we were looking for and didn't play games. There was no up-selling or pushiness involved. He just worked hard to help us find the car we wanted and was an all around decent guy buy a car from. On our first test drive we had to stop for gas; it was a really hot day and after paying, Maciej came back to the car with Gatorades all around. It's a small thing, sure, but it was indicative of how we were treated through the whole experience, and part of why we'd come back.

We purchased our car towards the end of May from the Autobarn City Volkswagon. Slavi Kukov, our sales associate, was very personable, knowledgeable, and relaxed. He was not pushy. Autobarn did not have the exact trim level of the car we wanted, so they offered us a better deal on a car they had on the lot. My husband and I really wanted the sunroof and navigation options, and the dealership was able to get us the exact model, trim level, and color of car we wanted within 2 days. The finance guy (I forget his name) was also very friendly, informative, and quick. They gave us a great deal for our trade-in as well. Overall we were very happy with our experience at the Autobarn and with our sales associate. The best part is that we LOVE our new car, a 2012 red Golf TDI. It is comfortable, drives like a dream, and is getting wonderful gas (diesel) mileage on my very long commute! We would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a volkswagon!

I worked with Mickey Kadric on obtaining my 2009 Audi Q5. He was very friendly and courteous from the moment I walked in with my fiance and father until we left. We asked difficult questions (as I am a demanding buyer.) However, we did not faze him and answered all my questions thoroughly. If anyone is in the market for a new or used car I would definitely recommend going to this dealership. Further, I would recommend people to seek Mickey out as a sales rep. As a bonus Mickey knows several different languages and was able to speak to my father in Spanish.

I first went in to look at the 2012 CCs with sales rep, Joe who was super friendly and helpful. Although I did not have the time to buy at that time, all my questions were answered. I went in again a month later to purchase and although Joe was not available that day, I was help by Adam. Adam was very approachable and friendly and we were able to work out a deal to my financial situation. To top that off, Zach the business manager helped me get a better deal for my new car. The only complaint that I have is that it took a very long time to get everything finalized. However, they were short of staff and very incredibly accommodating.

This dealership and it's team are top notch. I have listed 2 people as those that helped me because they both had a huge hand in our decision to purchase a new 2012 VW Jetta.....and they had a huge hand in us deciding to purchase from their dealership. I was at a crucial juncture with my previous vehicle where to even keep in on the road I was going to have to sink a lot of money into it....I had wanted to trade it in for about 6 months but had reason to be concerned because I had about $3K in negative equity on it ("upside down" on it). I had been to other delearships (Hyundai, Jeep) that could not really work with me and get me the monthly payment I needed in order to purchase a new car. Although I still came in a bit upside down the team here kept going back to the "drawing board" and finding every single way they could for me to get the monthly payments where I needed them....since I am upside down a little I purchased the gap insurance (this means that if I total the car and insurance pays off the total value of the car I will be covered for the difference between what the insurance company pays and what I owe the bank). Although the team at Autobarn did not invent gap insurance they were simply very sincere in helping me to understand that in my upside down situation this insurance will be crucial to my financial well being should something happen to the vehicle. I can not say enough great things about JOHN and SLAVI.....ask for either one of these guys if you choose to go there, they are not "Car Salesmen"....they are simply guys that sell cars....in the business world there is a big difference between these things. I could not be happier with my Jetta....it is a classy classic car that accelerates with perfection and it is just plain FUN to drive. Thanks to the entire team there who spent a lot of time working with me (as I am somewhat of a sceptic and ask a ton of questions). This whole process I was looking for "The Catch" but there wasn't one.....these guys came through with exactly what they said they would do and didn't just help me get the car I needed.....they also helped me get the car my Fiance and I really wanted.John, Slavi, Derrick and Zack......you guys are great. Slavi at City VW/Autobarn was terrific. I had some fairly unreasonable demands because it was going to be the only way I would consider buying a 2012 Eos, otherwise it was going to be a BMW. But Slavi came through on every point and delivered the car I wanted at the agreed upon price. I've already recommended Slavi and City VW to friends. When you go, ask for him.I'd also like to add that Mike in the service department is top notch. Via my previous VW, Mike has managed to completely convert me from another VW dealer in Chicago and is the primary reason I went to City VW to buy a car. Prior to my visit to Autobarn City VW, I did not know much more about VWs other than that they are cute, and I wanted one. Luckily Adam was very knowledgeable. We had a discussion about what features interested me and how I would be using my car most often. We decided that a Jetta would be the best car for me. I found a great candy white used Jetta that I absolutely love! I never felt pressured which I appreciate immensely. Adam is incredibly friendly and personable. I was in and out (in style!!) in just a few hours. My interactions with Sassan were equally pleasant. Everyone working that day was on point! I definitely recommend this dealer!

I was interested in a used car and emailed in the PM about arranging to see the next day as it was the only day available. No answer to the email, so drove from Green Bay and left a voice message enroute--also ignored. Found out the car was loaned out, so we talked price. The internet price was inflexible, but the certified warranty which appeared to be part of the deal was added! I don't stand for such tactics, so I left to buy an alternative car at Jennings VW instead. They treat you great and don't play games.Additional comment 5-11-12: Dealer principal, Carmen, called to discuss my complaint and assured me he would take action to make sure this was not repeated with any future customers as this was not the way he wants to do business in any of their stores. His sincerity convinced me to give them another try the next time I'm car shopping.

Just here to relay my experience. Not a place I will visit again for sure.They had a CPO car I was looking at for some weeks. When I finally decided that I wanted it, I gave them a call. I called at 1pm. I asked about the availability of the car, if it was still there and whether they had any appointments for the car that day. I was told it's available, it's here and nobody is here for it. I said cool, I'll get there around 2:30-3:00pm since I live sorta far (northwest suburbs).Arrived at the Autobarn at 2:50pm. Was told the car is not in the shop as it was being used for "training" off-site but that the car should be back within 15-20min (so there is lie #1 from my phone call that the car was "there"). Then the big whammy. There was an older couple there who were waiting for the same car. Come to find out, they made an appointment THE DAY BEFORE and were waiting at the shop for over 3 HOURS to test drive the car. Also, they drove almost 2+ hours to get there. So obviously, that couple is going to buy the car unless something is seriously flawed with the car. So there is lie #2 and it was a big one. Now they are trying to tell me I can wait to see **if** they want to buy it or I can look at some other stuff they have. While the older couple were test driving, I asked if I could just buy it now, no need to test drive. Manager comes to me with bs about "fairness" and that the older couple made an appointment first. I told him, how is it fair to me, to call first to find out about it's availability, only to be lied to and coerced into coming down there to see a car that was already booked. If the guy on the phone had told me that there was an appointment, I would have never come down there. Manager continues with his "fairness" spiel. In the end, I walked away and of course, the older couple bought the car. I was very, very, very angry that day as I took time off of work, wasted gas and time to go see the car, when they knew that they already had someone coming to see the car. To me, it was clear that they were trying to make sure they got the car sold, so "double booked" it. Very sleezy move and then trying to get me to look at other cars. So word of warning when going there. I definitely will never buy a car from them ever.

This dealership exceeded my expectations. I haven't been to a dealership for 10 years. A lot of things have changed since then. They were friendly when I thought they would be pushy, and I felt extremely comfortable taking my time with the decision to buy used. This was a great experience!

I Went on a lunch break to check out a BMW. At first, i was not planning to purchase the vehicle. Once i test drove it, i fell in love. These guys carry quality cars at affordable pricing. The sales person Slavey was very friendly with me and had great customer service. Sesan, the general manager, worked hard to get me the lowest financing rate. Mickey was a great salesman. Very professional, and showed me everything I wanted. I wasn't too clear on the car I wanted when I walked in, and then Mickey showed me the new Jettas in the lot near Long avenue. He was very patient throughout my seemingly never-ending car search. Mickey then gave me agreat price, I paid just under sticker. I was then told I'd have free car washes for life! That was the icing on the cake for sure. Great experience, great salesman.

It was a very tough deal to put together...dowmayment limits, trade value, monthly payment, etc. The majority of the purchace was done via internet and telephone. Through the combined efforts of the people at the dealership the deal was closed at a great price! Btw, I first had the pleasure of doing business with The AutoBarn twenty years ago and it was the service shown and courtsy shown me then made a lasting impression.

Javier and Sassan were extremely patient and went out of their way to help me with my purchase. Often times, buying a car can be a stressful experience, but Javier and Sassan went out of their way to make it as easy as possible. With many dealers there are high-pressure tactics, but I felt nothing like that at all with Javier and Sassan. The price they gave me couldn't be beat by anyone, and there were no games or tricks. I would absolutely recommend Javier and Sassan at City VW.

Sassan is the guy you want to go to if you are looking to buy a Touareg; he knows everything about them and is very honest, patient and friendly. Moreover, he is extremely fair and reasonable as it relates to trading in a vehicle. The Autobarn City Volkswagen Dealership has excellent staff in the Service Department and a pleasant cashier. Buying a used car is a gamble, and it is extremely comforting to buy a pre-owned vehicle from a salesman who has a lot of integrity and is very professional. I was at this dealer and wanted to purchase a Porsche Boxster. When I asked them to have a pre- purchase inspection performed, they did not want to have that done - although I offered to pay for it. They tried to pressure me and to purchase the car the same day when I visited them. Terrible experience - I do not trust these guys!

I was in desperate need of a car after graduating college. I was also very nervous about the process of purchasing a car. Autobarn was the first place I stopped to look. I intended to have an informational visit. After speaking with Javier, he made sure the process was as simple and enjoyable as possible. He also was very accomodating and pleasant to be around. Javier is definitely an individual who will go above and beyond for a customer and I was impressed with his genuine personality. Sassan was also very professional and willing to work with me on getting the car the best suited my needs and wants. The duo was able to find the car in the exact color I was looking for and they also stayed within my price range. I ended up purchasing the car the next day followed up by a great hug and congratulations from Javier. I have also been very impressed with the after sale follow up and how helpful Javier and Sassan have been. Sassan and Dennis were truly a pleasure to work with. The experience was anything but what your typical experience is with car salesmen. They weren't pushy at all and truly seemed to have my best interests at heart. They were also very patient. I didn't make a decision in one day and I had trouble making my mind up about what I wanted exactly. Original Post: 12/15.Ordering and taking delivery of my vehicle went really smoothly, but that was two months ago now and things took a turn for the worse. Fast forward to today and the "deposit" they made me pay to order the vehicle has not been refunded and most of the sales people and managers I dealt with have quit and/or stopped returning my calls. Every time I reach someone they give me the answer of "it'll be there later this week" or "we're waiting for the end of the month for the books" that was two weeks ago now and still no refund. I have brought this to the attention of Volkswagen of America who is investigating on my behalf.I should be able to charge them interest on what they owe me, they've been holding my money for close to 4 months now. UPDATE 12/16. Since I posted this they contacted me and are working to get me a check overnighted, but they claimed innocence in not knowing who I am and why I was owed money until they looked into it. This issue has been brought to their attention and the people involved were just not doing their job to expedite what I thought would be a serious issue. It took posting here for urgency to be added to the situation, and that's pretty sad and I thusly will not be adjusting my review scores here.

4 stars for a dealer you say? well ... it's because we got a great deal on 12 jetta tdi :)BUT, it was NOT easy (5 hours of negotiations, financing & signatures). YOU as a buyer, need to do research (truecar cardirect) & find out how much dealer is paying for the car with options you want ... then negotiate DOWN from thereand if you're persistent and pay attention to the PRICE of the car (not monthly payments), you too can get your VW under invoice :) - via graciously inflated trade-in ($Ks over KBB), in our casekudos to let us loan a Diesel for 1/2 day before we bought it (smart move Jay :). we really were set on cheaper SE gas engine, but now we'll be saving $75 in gas cost every month, thanks to 40mpg of TDI ... which btw has a great pickup, thanks to the 290 lb of torque. in the end we pretty much got diesel $500 over what SE would cost (invoice & good luck on getting that deal if it's not the end of the year :)also special thanks to Natalia. she really went our of her way to entertain & accommodate our 4 year old ... Polish soup, snacks, milk ... serdecznie dziekujemy!autobarn's new cars also come with car wash for life, interior assurance (3 yrs?). VW currently offers free maintenance, except for breaks. even loanerswe are happy with our purchase & good luck to you

Bought my vehicle here as you can see from my post last month. Well... The initial purchase was great. Everyone was more than happy to work with me. After the sale however is COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE!!! Horrible service. Started with a warranty door sal and two keys. Both negotiated into the sale. They "ordered" the seal the same day I boiught it (so they said) And had to search the dealership for the keys. I was assured I would be contacted the next day. I had to call them 2 days later. Then they informed me they couldnt find them so they ordered them and they would call me as soon as the seal and keys came in. One and a half weeks later no call. So once again I called. They assured me the seal and keys were indeed in. So I drove two hours and fifteen minuites and when I arrived they informed me they ordered the wrong seal and the keys were never ordered. So once again they tell me they will call me when every thing comes in. Aweek later I call again. They told me everything had come in 3 days prior. So here we are again.. Promiced phone calls and no follow through!! Sorry Really upset about it. A few days ago my TPMS light came on so I had NTB fill the low tire. They informed me I needed new tires! 1000 miles after purchase and I need new tires?! This was a CPO vehicle as well with 26,000 miles. I measured them myself with my tread depth gauge and they showed between 4 and 5 thousandths of an inch. When I called the dealer they said that I had to be wrong and that when the vehicle left it had 7 thousandths of an inch. This scares me because either A, Their Technicians cannot read.. Or B they just eye balled the tread depth to hurry through the inspection. Both of which scare me because what else did they skip over in the inspection process. Well I am done ranting a raving because this is probably falling upon deff ears anyway. Hope this helps someone. Remember its not just the initial sale that matters. Look at EVERYTHING. If I had know I woud not have bought this car from them. I would have gone to Orland Park VW. Rich Muinez is amazing. He helped me early in my buying process and he is GREAT!!!

From the onset, the entire experience was enjoyable. I made the appointment for a test drive with Natalia. As I was on my way I received a call from the sales manager. He explained who he was and that he would be there if I needed further assistance. I have never had anyone associated with a car dealership do that before. I was impressed. Natalia was a patient and easy going, not pushy like some car dealers we all know. Throughout the deal Natalia's attitude remained the same, pleasant.After I purchased the vehicle Natalia showed me around the dealership introducing me to everyone. Again, I never had this happen before. I was impressed by the cleanliness and efficiency of this dealership. I would definitely recommend this dealership to family and friends.

Found the car we wanted on the internet and Autobarn City Volkswagen made it happen.Could not have been more accommodating, friendly or agreeable. Gave us an extended test period and fixed all the small problems we noticed. It took a little time, but they came up with touch up paint pens for small dings and other info on the car's features and extras that the previous owner had factory-loaded and, buying it used, we would not otherwise have known about. Service department was particularly impressive. We would not hesitate to buy our next car (cars) from them.

9/14/11 Hello viewers, my name is Scott. I live in the south suburbs near Joliet and found the autobarn city through the internet. I have to say this dealer was one of the friendliest and helpful that I have been. Over the past few months I have been visiting numerous dealers in search of a certified used car and have either been unsatisfied with the salesmen or the vehicles they were showing were well.... Junk, with a big price tag. Patrick in sales was the gentleman that helped me with my purchase. All I can say is wow! I have never met a salesman who has not pushed me to buy a car until I went here. When it came down to completing the deal he asked me what I wanted for my trade and I told him shaumburg VW had offered me 2000.00. He said, "ok" and that was that. He got me two thousand no questions asked. Then he asked what my finacing percentage was with my previous car. When I told him I wasnt sure exactly he said "think of a number off the top of your head" when I did he said once again "ok" and that was that. Completely painless, extremely friendly, helpful, truley a great experience. I would will not be going anywhere else. Ohh and BTW I got a GREAT deal on my car! :)

I purchased an X5 two weeks ago, Friday, July 15th. I was told that I would receive the car three days after they received payment. I had contacted Dave on Thursday the 14th, to let him know that the money had been wired and he said he'd watch for it. When I called on Tuesday the 19th, they hadn't even checked to confirm the payment. No further calls back that day. Wednesday the 20th, I was told that there was a two day waiting period on wire transfers to make sure that the customer wouldn't take the money back. (Is that even possible?)I was told that my vehicle was being shipped. Friday the 22nd. I called and found that my car was still sitting in Chicago, but was assured my vehicle would be here Wednesday the 27th. Monday the 25th I called and got the name of the shipping company. When I contacted the shipper he informed me that he had no idea the car was due Wednesday, the car was still in Chicago, and that he wasn't delivering it until he received payment from the Auto Barn. I told Dave the situation and to his credit he actually called me back. He assured me that my X5 would still be delivered on time. (Really? Chicago to California in 2 days?) Wednesday I called the shipper and he said he would not deliver the car until Friday the 29th because he had still not been paid. I brought Dave in on a three way call and to Dave's credit again, he offered to pay via credit card. When I got off the phone Dave said he would take care of it and call me back. No one called. I left messages for Dave and Mike Wallace to call me back and let me know what was going on. No call back. I called and talked to Mike Wallace today to find out what's going on. No call back. I hate them. They don't care that I have no car. What happened to 3 days after I paid for the car? Even with 2 days waiting for the wire transfer, and 4 days shipping I should have had this car last weekend.When the car finally arrived it had damage to the right front fender, the drivers side rear view mirror was flopping back and forth, the brakes caused the steering wheel to shake violently, and the left rear window didn't roll up or down.Autobarn wanted nothing to do with any of the repairs for the damages that they deliberately didn't disclose. After numerous calls about this, Dave Soeth told me to take the vehicle to my local BMW dealer and they would pay to repair the window. I took the X5 in and was charged $290 for the inspection. I had to call several times over a few days to get in contact again (no calls back must be a company policy). Mike Wallace told me they were willing to pay for half of the window, but nothing on the brakes or damaged front fender of the vehicle their mechanics had inspected and declared in "great shape". Really? No one noticed the bondo, spray paint, and missing sensor? When I asked John Gavin about it he said almost all vehicles in their area have damage, so it's considered normal, so they wouldn't have disclosed it. He admits that their shop did the repair, but that it wasn't noticeable. When I asked for pictures of the vehicle pre-shipping he sent pictures of the left front. When I called back for pictures of the right side he started yelling at me, saying he didn't like the way I was talking to him. How should I have talked? I paid for this vehicle, in full, on the 15th of July, yet- I got it WEEKS after it was promised; I can't get a call back to save my life; the vehicle has damages and is need of repairs that anyone who ever saw or drove the vehicle would have noticed, but weren't disclosed; and the excuses and passing-the-buck I've received would make a politician blush. Aside from the pleasant lady who answers the phone there, I hate the way I've been treated by the Autobarn. They are quintessential used car salesmen. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau in hopes of rectifying the dismal situation without having to be berated by belligerent salesmen.

Test drive went well, and I was interested in purchasing the vehicle. As soon as the sales associate found out my asking price with financing was beliow their expectations, both he and the manager became very aggreesive and belligerent. Their response was a question "what I believed was a fair price for their dealership to make a profit?"When I raised my final offer, the manager responeded that he did not even know what my offer was supposed to mean. Both the manager and sales associate were only concerned with their own profit, and gave no concern to my needs as a customer or a first-time buyer. After suffering the rude and unprofessional conduct of the dealership staff, despite my transparency as an honest buyer, I was forced to leave.Only after getting to my car outside, my fiancee in tears, did the associate chase me down and agree to bargain, but was still unwilling to accept my final terms. I explained that we did not deserve to be spoken to and treated in such a rude manner, and that I did not want my first new car experience to begin with their dealership. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone, as the actions and attitude of the personnel are an obvious extension of management and ownership mentality....They do not care about the customer.

I started dealing with the service department at City Volkswagon of Chicago (although it's now called 'Autobarn City Volkswagen of Chicago') shortly after I bought a used Passat from the *TERRIBLE* VW dealer in Gurnee, IL.As bad as Gurnee VW was, Autobarn City VW of Chicago is the complete opposite! The people are friendly (they know I like to joke around, so they joke around right along with me); they answer *all* my questions (even the ones I haven't had a chance to ask, because they've already answered them). They tell me exactly what they're going to do to my car before they do it.When Gurnee VW refused / forgot to install a factory recall, Autobarn did it at no cost to me.They worked with me on getting some warranty service performed when problems arose getting the service authorized because Gurnee VW never entered the warranty coverage into the VW computer system.When I needed some body work done, they referred me to a *fabulous* body shop (Richard's Body Shop - 3041 W. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago) that did incredible work at a price that my insurance covered completely without any out-of-pocket from me. They also sent me to a great electronics shop where I could get the wiring for my GPS installed at a very reasonable price.The Radio / CD player / SiriusXM unit was having intermittent failures. Instead of having to wait for it to fail permanently (or hassle with "troubleshooting" the unit), they just replaced it with a new one!Plus, no matter what the reason that I have my car there, they wash & wax it for me for free, and they do an excellent job! (Did I mention that it's free?!?!)As I said, I bought my car at another dealer, but from the little bit that I've talked to the sales staff, I get the impression that they're extremely professional and knowledgeable, and I don't think I'm going to have to worry about getting screwed when I come here to replace the Passat I'm driving now.If you come here, either for sales or for service, I'm sure you'll be very glad you did!

If you are looking for an unpleasant buying experience deal with Patrick. Otherwise, pick someone else at this dealership to work with. His attitude with me was plain unbearable - did not one bit feel like customer satisfaction even exists in his sales cookbook. Your stereotypical car salesmen that will say just about anything to get into your pocket. The existing staff from the pre-Autobarn days (Kamilla and others) are much friendlier and pleasant to work with. Avoid Patrick at all costs.

I called in and talked to Gene Tomlin.He knew the Passat I was calling on and gave me whatever information I asked for.I went in and the car was clean and ready to be driven.
