About 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class The all-new Mercedes-Benz GL450 sport utility makes its debut for 2013. The exterior appearance of the GL450 includes sleek bumpers and front grille, chrome window trim and front and rear skid plates. LED technology is used for taillights and daytime running lights. Inside, the luxurious 2013 GL450 is fitted with heated power front seats, genuine wood trim and a retractable glass sunroof. New options include a double-sized power Panorama sunroof with a fixed glass panel over the back row and multi-color ambient lighting. Both third-row seats can be stowed electrically at the push of a button, either separately or together, to provide a totally flat cargo floor. Powering the GL450 is a biturbo V-8 with direct-injection. It delivers 362 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 406 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 to 4,000 rpm. The 2013 GL450 is equipped with an enhanced seven-speed automatic transmission that provides even better fuel mileage, more responsive driving, quieter operation and increased durability. The GL450 also includes 4MATIC permanent four-wheel drive system, Downhill Speed Regulation DSR and a special program for off-road driving. The ON & OFFROAD package of the new GL-Class has six driving programs to greatly improve vehicle dynamics and safety under a wide degree of driving conditions. Drivers of the new GL need not fear gusts of crosswind as the driving dynamics control system keeps the SUV firmly on course. Depending on the direction and intensity of the crosswind, the control systems apply corresponding brake pressure to the wheels and compensate to substantially mitigate the wind's effects on the vehicle.
