Mike, our sales guy, was awesome. He answered all my questions and we negotiated the price before I even came back to the dealership to sign the papers. I love my new car! I have been telling everyone what a great experience I had! We actually purchased a car the day before (for my fiance') from Inifinit -- and the Hyundai experience was FAR better (so was the car selection, in my opinion). I owned my first car (an Elantra) for 9.5 years and have had no issues. It was the reason I came back to purchase the Santa Fe Sport Turbo Ultimate! Really great experience! Thank you!

Alexandria Hyundai gets a 2 thumbs up! 2 weeks, I walked into the dealership hoping to find a car that would meet my standards and also brought print-outs of a few that I found online. I was directed to salesman, Navid, who was extremely friendly and helpful. I came in 2 hours before closing, so I wasnt expecting to drive out in a brand new car. Given the limited time I had, I figured Id just take a look at their vehicles that were in stock and test drive, as I was looking to do a trade-in and lease a new 2017 Elantra. During the negotiating process, the finance manager Rob, went above and beyond to ensure that I got the exact car that I wanted for the best deal possible (which is not always the case with most dealerships). I was surprised at how easy and stress-free it was. He made it a priority to make sure that I left dealership satisfied and pleased. They truly care and do everything that they can to work with you and make sure that you find a car to your satisfaction AND within your budget. I am truly grateful to both Navid and Rob; theyve gained a loyal customer. I am in love with my new car!! If youre in the area. I suggest coming to Hyundai Alexandria and ask for Navid or Rob! Theyll take good care of you, you wont be disappointed!

We recently purchased our fourth Hyundai. We have now purchased the last 3 of them from Alexandria Hyundai (one Elantra, one Sonata, one Sante Fe). Our experience each time at Alexandria Hyundai has been outstanding, as evidenced by the fact that we keep returning. I say the third time is the charm, because my wife, and three kids (11, 10, 6) are overjoyed with our new Sante Fe. Our son, in response to a question from school, said his best memory is getting the Santa Fe. Please note, our kids were with my wife the whole time she was making this transaction, so they must have been treated extremely well to have behaved so well during the visit. I did not arrive until after they had been there a while, and all the hard work had been done, but Ray Jacobs helped me catch up quickly. I will add that Ray Jacobs has been our salesmen for all three sales (because I have asked for his help since our first purchase there). One final note, not directly related to this transaction. Alexandria Hyundai is a good neighbor and gives back to the community.

My salesman was relaxed and not pushy, and explained all the various options to me (buy vs. lease, payments, etc.). Staff was friendly and helpful. Negotiations on price were easier than I thought, even though I've never done it before. I feel that I got a good deal and my car is awesome (2017 red Hyundai Elantra, love it, love it!). I don't like going to dealerships, but the crew at the Hyundai dealership helped make this experience as painless as possible. I knew which model I was interested in before arriving, so I was a matter of getting the right price and making a decision. While it took them a while to realize I was there to look at a car, I did show up while it was prime time for folks to pick up cars being serviced, and they wrongly assumed that I was just waiting on my car to be ready. After Travis began helping me, he made sure that I was taken care of and he even drove to Landover to get the car that I was interested in. Overall, it could have been better, but I was fine with the service that I received. When reviewing the paperwork to sign my loan, I was tired and hungry and I ended up signing up for the extra insurance that I didn't really want or need. I don't feel like they strong-armed me at all, but it was after 9pm, and if I hadn't been tired and hungry I probably would have not signed up for the extra cost.

I worked with Navid Taheri, who was very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. He offered all the necessary instructions about the car, gave a fair price and allowed plenty of time for me to discuss financing options with by brother who was along to assist in the decision making and purchase. Since then, Navid has already scheduled my first maintenance appointment and agreed to help me out with a refresher course in navigating the Bluetooth system. This dealership was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm glad I took her suggestion. The whole experience was very positive.

Just a couple days before I had a horrible experience in another car dealership. It was so bad that I canceled the whole purchase while I was signing the Purchase Order. Because that bad experience, when I went to the Hyundai in Alexandria to look for a car, I was not expecting good customer service. However, Arkeem proved me wrong and was the most amazing sales rep I could ask for. I had a lot of questions about the cars and features and he was prompt in answering every questions with good and correct information, and most importantly respect. He was also paying a lot of attention to everything I was telling him regarding my impressions and expectations in reference to my ideal car. Besides the customer service related to the car itself, I was at the store with my husband and my 3 years old son. My son was so excited about buying a car that he was literally all over the place. Arkeem and the whole staff was understandable of his behavior and doing everything they could to help us feel comfortable. Throughout my experience I felt that I could trust the sales rep, the management, and every person I interacted with. I purchased the vehicle on Monday evening June 27. The sale and delivery experience was good, however the car was not thoroughly washed. I have not yet been contacted as promised regarding my satisfaction, the tags & title, and the first service visit. I visited and spoke with sales at 3 other local Hyundai dealerships, including the new one in Springfield. I understand that the Alexandria dealership is older, but its age does not excuse the fact that it really needs a good cleaning and a little paint to spruce it up. The conduct of all the people that I came in contact with that evening was professional and personable, and the time of the sale and delivery was good.

Overall the experience was enjoyable. The initial sales persons were not overly aggressive when I arrived to the lot to look at the inventory. The asked if I needed help and them back away when i said I was just looking. Once I knew what I needed or wanted I engaged a sales person and they answered my questions and assisted in locating a vehicle I liked. Once accomplished there was no real pain in coming to a reasonable price and the finance guy was straight forward, no gimmicks or added BS; much appreciated. So overall it was enjoyable and straightforward. I have had much worse experiences at other dealerships.

We were in the market for a larger car as our daughter has graduated to a convertible car seat - our old Mazda3 didn't fit well with my long legs and a car seat. This dealership is a fixture in the community - really friendly folks, especially if you have a dog. We took a few test drives after doing some test fits with two car seats in a number of cars. Both Arkeem and Ken were knowledgeable about the cars we were looking at and we're pleasant to interact with. No high-pressure tactics and they were really good with our 11 month old. The actual taking of my money.. was smooth and painless. If you want after market work..i.e. tint... I suggest you do that separate and without the dealership 'assistance'. I am in the process of contacting and scheduling mine to be redone directly with the freelance tint guy they used. What a pain! I say this to say... if you simply want to buy a car and have no dealership customer relationship after, than you can... out the door.

I bought three Hyundai vehicles from this dealership and I cannot say enough good things about this dealership. Each time I went, my total transaction/interaction took less than 2 hours each. I bought two vehicles for my family members and I never thought of driving Hyundai for myself. However I visited at BMW Sterling, Koons Jeep and others a few that week to see my options for new car. I work for a job that deals with people all day and I am particularly not good with dealing with people on my own time. So when I encountered less than friendly and more over slimy sales people at each dealership, it turned me off immediately. I dropped in the Alexandria Hyundai on my way to a movie...not really thinking that I would be driving out with a new car. Danny, the sales manager, was a no-nonsense guy. I told him what I was looking for and what my monthly payment comfort zone was and he went to work. I didn't have to haggle or ask for anything. He gave me all the rebates and discounts he was able to give. He did "Screw" me on trade in, like most of dealerships tried to do. And the soft spoken sales person,, Navid, was a doll. He spoke kindly and respectfully, I didn't feel harassed or pushed. Like I said, I never thought I would drive the Hyundai myself but here I am, a Hyundai owner. I looked at four other brands of vehicles before visiting Alexandria Hyundai. At the other dealerships, I felt like I was dealing with the stereotypical aggressive dishonest car salesman. At Alexandria Hyundai, the contrast was amazing, I felt as if I was being welcomed by a family of friendly, honest people who wanted to make my experience easy, fair, and efficient. Nice touches, like the owner of the dealership stopping by to say hi- giving me his card and telling me to feel free to contact him at any time for anything. They pointed out with a smile the neighbor who comes in every weekend for the free pizza. Introduced me to the service department and explained their policy of free oil changes and free car washes for the life of the car. Those were just a few of the many nice touches and excellent service I received. I didn't think car buying could be an enjoyable experience until I found this place.

The car salesman I worked with was professional, however the facility itself needs some changing/upgrading. The vending machine area was dirty, in addition to the fact I could tell the coffee machine had not been cleaned recently, that was also dirty. The lighting is dim and gloomy, it did not smell too good either, windows cover the entire facility making it fairly depressing. I felt dirty inside of there, which made me want to get out fast. I visited the Hyundai in Chantilly to view my options, and their facility made me feel more welcome due to the fact it was clean, smelled good, and had good lighting which makes a huge difference, I wanted to stay there. These factors all come into play when people want to feel comfortable at a dealership. If you put an option below to rate the dealership in terms of Cleanliness, I would have rated that very low.

My boyfriend and I recently bought our new car from Alexandria Hyundai. In our search for a new car, we went to three other dealerships. No other dealership in the area treats you as well as Hyundai. The salesman we worked with kept in contact with us constantly, but not too pushy on anything, just trying to make sure that we didn't have any questions for him and if he could help us in any way. We had a pretty difficult situation that other dealerships told us they couldn't help us, but Alexandria Hyundai figured out a way to get us the car that we wanted and what we could afford. Every worker in there was very pleasant, including the owner, who we met a couple of times. We did have to wait a while for a banker, but they made sure that we had snacks, pizza, water or coffee whenever we came in. They definitely made the experience delightful. Thank you.

I just took on my second consecutive lease with the Santa Fe Limited. The sales consultant Eugene who assisted me most recently was enthusiastic, engaged, a good listener, and very knowledgeable about the Hyundai products. I was also assisted by the Sales Manager and the Finance Manager who took all the time I needed to go over every single item in the lease contract and explain it all to me. They all actually care about their customers and want them to leave happy. Obviously, I was happy with my first lease because I returned for a second go-round. I was obviously happy with the Santa Fe Limited because I ended up with that same car again, too. I would highly recommend going to Alexandria Hyundai to explore the possibilities.

The customer service at this dealership needs improvement. White and Asian salesclerks are off putting because they seemed uncomfortable talking to African American patrons. The sales staff should be more knowledgeable and less rude to patrons. I have only been leasing here for about a week and my husband really likes the car, but if he changes his mind at the end of our three year lease, at this point, I would be happy to take our business elsewhere due to my initial experience with the dealership.

This was my first car purchase and Alexandria Hyundai made it such a comfortable experience. Navid was very professional and courteous and wanted me to get the best car that was for me, even if that meant choosing another manufacturer. I spent at least 30 minutes pacing in the parking lot trying to decide between the Elantra and the Honda Civic and he did not approach me once to push me toward the Hyundai. I had been leaning towards the Civic, but the Elantra won me over for its warranty and price. I felt no pressure to purchase at Alexandria Hyundai, but in the end that's what I did; mostly because of the great customer service. My boyfriend ended up trading in his current car and buying a used SUV from them a week later because we were so happy with the service. Navid was one of the nicest and least pushy sales people I have ever experienced. Jeff, the finance manager, also guided us through the process without forcing anything on us. There is a reason that Hyundai is known for its customer service. Would highly recommend!

He was polite, has good vehicle knowledge, not aggressive. He was with me for a test drive and explained the features very well. That is how I was interested to go from Sports version to Limited version of Sonata. I came back to this dealership like 5 months later and there was good festive deals and I was happy buying. We did not receive the "hard sell" from anyone in the showroom - something I hate. Our salesman was polite, helpful, and asked the right questions to determine which sort of vehicle would be best for me. Received TrueCar price email with better than TrueCar price. Went to dealer showed email to the salesman and he asked if I wanted to test drive. Since I already had test driven the same car at a different dealer who did not want to match Alexandria Hyundai's price, I refused the test drive. The salesman brought the car and the exchange took about 30 minutes from start to keys on hand. Highly recommend to other purchasers. Go with TrueCar price and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I live in Fl and this was the only car with color and options I could find in the SE USA. I love the car but am very unhappy with the communication of the salesman and service I was provided. I never even got a call back after leaving a message for the sales manager when I called to complain. Very poor communication and a complete blunder on the delivery time of my vehicle. His communication was poor through the entre deal and unprofessional at times actually telling me to "chill baby", I still have the texts to prove it. He also couldn't do something as simple as getting me a badge for the back of the car telling me "its cheaper online". That is a poor model of customer service IMO. It's not like I live right around the corner and could just drive up to verify everything was ok, I think I deserved better communication and assistance for the $38K I spent and I did not get it. I also ordered custom seats and asked for pics of them before they were installed to verify correctness..I didnt get it. Finally no one from the dealership has called to verify I actually took delivery of the vehicle being as my neighbor had to sign for it or at least to make sure that I was satisfied with my purchase and service. By the way, delivery was scheduled when I wasnt in the state against my instructions and my car was filthy and unwaxed on the exterior. Totally disappointed with the service but I love the car.

Experience 1: I brought the car in for a standard oil change. Everything went great, but when i came to pick up the car there were several noticeable dents and scratches in the driver's door. I pointed this out to the service manager Gerald and he said he would need to go back and review the security footage to confirm they caused these scratches (without question they did). Well apparently their security cameras weren't functioning or aren't configured properly because he said he wasn't able to see my car at all, which was left in their "care" for the entire day. They finally agreed to fix the damage, but it took them 3 days, and they refused to admit it was their fault. I also had to continuously follow up with THEM, and they either never returned my calls or it took them hours to do so. Experience 2: I received a recall notice regarding my car, and it was due for another standard round of service, including a tire rotation, so I brought it in, because I believe in second chances and theyre very close to where I live. When I spoke to the service "advisor" I told him there might be a small leak in one of the tires. When I picked up the car they informed me that there was no issue with the tire. I was skeptical of this and told him that about every 2 weeks the pressure gets low in just that one tire so there must be an issue. Well 2 weeks later the low pressure light came on and I checked the tires, and it was the SAME EXACT TIRE that was low. So I called that night and scheduled an appointment for the next day. I dropped the car at 8 am that morning, and informed them of the issue. The service advisor that morning told me their was a recall notice for the car as well. I said that should have been taken care of when I was here 2 weeks ago (apparently they dont keep records of the services they perform on site). Regardless, After dropping the car at 8 am I waited until around 3:15 pm to call and check on the status so I could arrange my plans for the evening. Well at 3:15 I was told that someone would have to check on the status and call me back. An hour later still no word from them so I called back. I waited on hold for 10 minutes and nobody came back on the line. I called back. Again, waited on hold for 10 minutes until somebody came on the line and said they would check on it. At 4:45 I was told that the car was first being brought in to the shop to be looked at. Close to 6 pm I got a call that they did in fact find a puncture in the problem tire and that it would need to be replaced. They also recommended replacing the other 3 tires as well. Keep in mind that the car was brought in 2 weeks prior and whoever checked out the car with their "multipoint inspection" found no reason to replace or fix ANY of the tires. I told them that the punctured tire should be covered under the extra warranty I purchased (which it is). They called THEIR warranty company, because apparently each dealership uses a different company, and I bought the car somewhere else. When the service "advisor" said I didnt have a warranty with the company they use he said he would have to look into it and get back to me. At 7:15 pm I finally got a call back saying the tire was going to be replaced and covered. At 7:50 pm I finally get a call saying the tire had been replaced and the car is ready for pickup. The "advisor" also told me that they were going to do me a favor and allow the car to be released to me that night even though the warranty company had not yet sent the payment to them (under the warranty there is no out-of-pocket charge), so not sure why it should have been my problem. Finally after having to take a cab out to the dealership, I was able to pick up my car. I checked the tires using the penny method, and not a single tire seemed to need to be replaced. In total, it took them 12.5 hours, to fix a tire they initially said was fine.

You know how it is, buying a car is not really fun - at least for me. It's a long, drawn out process and you go into the dealership on the defensive because you want to get a good deal. I have to admit though, I have been back to Alexandria Hyundai three times in 6 years! I love the Hyundai, it is a good vehicle, with quality features, for a fair price. The Alexandria dealership is great. It's clean, they offer water and coffee during your time there, the salespeople are attentive and listen to your needs and concerns. We wanted to test drive four different vehicles, and one had to be retrieved from a lot off site. They brought it quickly, and even washed it before we test drove it! No complaints when that is NOT the vehicle we chose. The salesperson, Ray was great, but the person who has helped us through all three of our purchases and is TERRIFIC is Jeff Linzey. You probably don't hear that much about your backroom finance guy. Jeff is helpful, offers products and the reason they are worthwhile, but doesn't pressure you into a decision. We have purchased the extended warranty all three times. Hyundai has a great warranty program and they have helped us out with roadside service etc, when we needed it. We really appreciate Jeff. There was also a young manager there who was walking around during the day and checking in on people's experiences. He was so friendly and made sure we were well taken care of. Great place. We also use their service center, and they have been helpful and professional.

Navid was very helpful and patient, as this was the first car I've ever purchased, after a couple of hand-me-downs. He did not pressure us to buy the car (we ended up with a 2015 Hyundai Elantra) and worked with us to get a good price. We went to the dealership twice, and each time he had the car we wanted to test drive, ready to drive too. Good service, and very friendly people!

Great service. Staff was patient regarding my millions of questions (even those that took them past closing time). Rebates and discounts were clearly outlined so there was no need for any 'tactics'.staff went above and beyond to ensure that I got the vehicle that was right for me (included a lot of test driving). This dealership was absolutely a customer service dream come true. After spending the whole summer looking to purchase a used car and being disappointed conlubtless times, I finally caved and decided to lease. As a young woman in my 20s getting a car on my own people had tried to rip me off and coming to the pohanka Hyundai and working with mike Ausden was such a relief. The price they have was what I paid and there was no pushy-ness or sneaky charges at the end. I am so thankful for them, their patience and honesty. The experience seem to be great to start, but they were not budging on a price of a car that was releasing a new 2016 version in under two/three weeks. I actually left the dealership and 20 minutes later received a call with them confirming the price I asked for. It was just too much of a hassle going through all of that for a couple hundred dollars of a difference.

I feared going into the dealership, even though I had purchased a Santa Fe in 2003 from this same dealership. The process of getting the car I wanted, trying to figure if the deal was reasonable, and the usual long wait for paperwork and the vehicle to be made ready for me made me fear buying a new car. This purchase was so much different. It helped that I wasn't worried about how I was going to pay for the helped, but getting pretty much the exact car I wanted, at a fairly reasonable, expected price. Finance was extremely quick and painless. The whole process from selection to handing me the keys was about 20 minutes. It took more time to print all the paperwork, than have it explained and signed. I am very happy with this car and happier still at how easy it was.

The Good: My salesman (Mike Ausden) was awesome. He greeted me, got me into the car I wanted quickly, and let me take it for a spin to my satisfaction. He had the car and all of its features ready for me as soon as I walked out of signing for it.The Bad: The finance department can be a little tricky. I was promised a certain finance rate on the sales floor only to be given a much higher finance rate during signing (My credit score is above 720, so there should've been no surprises). Be careful to read through all of your documents and speak up if something looks out of the ordinary or different than what you discussed.Somewhere in the middle: Beware of being sold a "brand new" car with a Navigation system that hasn't been updated in over a year. I purchased my car less than a month ago and was told it had the current maps and GPS software, only to find out that I'd been sold Version 7 (05.09.01) while the current Version 9 (08.01.30) had been released already. 2 lies = 2 strikes. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to having my car serviced at Alex.Hyundai, the team seems skilled, efficient, and very competent to take care of my newest and very prized vehicular possession.

The owner, Kevin Reilly, met me at the door. I told him I was replacing the 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe I purchased new from him in 2003. I told him my quandary whether to purchase new or used due to my Parkinson's disease. He encouraged me to consider both options. He then introduced me to a sales representative, Navid, who was very understanding. There was never any pressure to purchase and Navid thoughtfully had me consider all my options laying the inventory sheets side by side with my "out the door" price. I made my decision to purchase a 2015 Santa Fe Sport. I was introduced to John Whetselwho offered me an extended warranty and a paint protection policy. I declined both but went back several days later to add the bumper to bumper warranty. The vehicle was given to me washed, tires dressed and with a full tank of gas. Navid Taheri went over all the features, registered my Blue Link, set up my first oil change and connected my cell phone. It was a very relaxing experience and I feel I purchased the right vehicle at the right price to meet my current. One happy and satisfied customer!

Well, I initially started this review with some criticism from Alexandria Hyundais Service Department. My ex has a 2012 Sonata Limited Turbo. It started blowing smoke and the mechanic I took it too said the turbo was bad and would have to be replaced. I contacted Alexandria Hyundai, which is just down the street from where I work. The service advisor (Brock) was very energetic, proactive, and positive. He felt that Hyundai would step up to the plate even though technically the car is out of warrantee. Further diagnosis confirmed my mechanics diagnosis of a bad turbo, but also said that the turbo failed as a result of oil leaking into it from the engine. The remedy: replace both the turbo and the engines. Ouch. Brock still felt confident that Hyundai would come to our aid.Unfortunately, this process dragged out over a week, and my ex was out a car and rental bills were piling up. When Hyundai finally responded, it was a no, and I was very frustrated. I thought, how can this be Americas Best Warrantee? The service department found sludge in the oil pan and valve cover (caused by many things, but commonly due to not frequent enough oil changes). My ex produced some maintenance records indicating she was changing the oil, so we now had a contradiction (personal note: Being a Mechanical Engineer, and now looking back at this, Im perplexed as to why Hyundai does not require synthetic oil in this engine line. GM does in my 400hp Camaro SS. If you do the math, this Sonata motor has twice the power per liter of my Camaro).Just when things were looking pretty bleak, the GM/Owner (Kevin Reilly) of the dealership returns to town from a family vacation, and hes brought up to speed on the situation. He calls me to let me know hes engaged, and later that night we talk about the whole thing at length (and never once made me feel he was in a hurry and needed to go).Later he (Kevin Reilly) arranged a meeting with him and the Hyundai DPSM (District Parts and Service Manager). All three of us met, and with the service manager and mechanic, looked over the car. There is sludge, and also the motor failed a leak down test (indicating a loss of sealing in the combustion chamber, and likely the source of the oil contamination). Conclusion: it needs a new engine, and with the presence of sludge, Hyundai will not even consider a good will repair. But owner Kevin Reilly wants to make a happy customer out of me. HE set to work on coming up with a proposal whereby we would all kick in to get it fixed. And after numerous personal calls to Hyundai, he managed to get them to kick in. On his end, he provided all the parts at his cost, some smaller parts for free, and cut his labor significantly. After we got the deal worked out, and I was on my way over to get the deal working, he showed up personally at the Metro station to greet me in a 2015 Sonata he was going to provide me as a loaner while they set to work on the car. Thats what I call turning lemonades into lemonade. So, Mr. Reilly is well on his way to making me a believer in his dealership. He likes giving personal attention, and knows doing so will never allow him to build a massive empire -- but that seems ok by him; he prefers having a people-oriented dealership with a good and fair reputation.

My first visit to Alexandria Hyundai (December? 2014) left a great impression on me even though I was still in the extensive process of researching vehicles that would suit my needs. There was no pressure, just friendly people. After two months of visits to other dealerships I returned to Alexandria Hyundai, this time to test drive 3 different models. I was once again warmly greeted and once again, there was no pressure, just friendly talk and a willingness to listen. Mike was great about providing the 3 vehicles I wanted to test-drive, and when I narrowed it down to my final choice, he was very patient about going over the options and the model I wanted. There happened to be a model with features close enough to what I wanted on the lot, the price was very reasonable, and I drove off, a very happy purchaser, the very next day! I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin and Danny, and I admired Jeff's acumen and friendly businesslike manner. All through the process of researching, test driving and then buying my Hyundai at Alexandria Hyundai, I was made to feel like a welcomed guest. I am very happy with my new Hyundai!!

I did a lot of shopping around for this vehicle and talked to about 10 dealerships in NJ, NY, PA, and VA because the exact vehicle I wanted was in short supply. This review is for the service department particularly their scheduling and execution of the schedule. I scheduled an appointment (9:45 AM) on their website and dropped my car off an hour and a half before the scheduled time (8:15 AM). I showed up 8 hours later (4:15 PM) and the car hadn't even entered the shop yet. I was told since it was "technically" a drop off they could fit it into their schedule as they saw fit. I took my car and left without getting it serviced as I needed it to get home and use next day. I never expected to be treated like this as I had previously always had good experiences (I currently own 2 Hyundais). I did not even receive a phone call from anyone in the service department to tell me that they were running extremely late. even though they new my pick-up time and had it recorded. Terrible customer service, poor management of their schedule, did not honor their website scheduling process, not aware of their shortfalls and weak decision-making! It seems it was more important to get as many cars for repair on their docket for the day and hope the number of customers who were dissatisfied and received poor service was small.

Working with Ray Jacobs and Alexanderia Hyundai was absolutely the best car buying experience I have had in my life. I think I've purchased 17 cars in that time and at no time have I experience anything like buying from this dealership. I started with an internet search and found 4 cars of interest and submitted inquiries to the sellers. Ray responded the next day, scheduling an appointment for the following day. The car was exactly as advertised on the internet and Ray was a total gentleman. In fact, everyone I met at this dealership was personable and professional. I walked in with a price in mind, a trade in of an older vehicles, and I walked out with a great 2006 Elantra. Both issues I pointed out during my walkthrough we corrected and I drove the car home two days later. I terrific experience. By the way, I live over 75 miles from this dealership and they will be my first choice the next time I'm looking for a car, new or used. If you are looking for a good experience buying a car, Alexandria Hyundai is the place you should start.

My 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe was first serviced by the Hyundai of Alexandria in the fall of 2013. 5 recalls were "fixed" on that visit. Fast forward to March 20, 2014. My Vehicle was towed to Hyundai because the recall appeared to not be fixed. The car would not shift but had no other symptoms. I made an appointment for that day but they didn't have time to look at the car. The next day they called and said it was the solenoid and would cost close to $500. Edward promised to have the part by the following Tuesday and said the car would be finished then. When I was contacted Tuesday he said the part didn't come in, but was promised the work would be done by Wenesday. Wednesday I was contacted and told I would need a new transmission. My check engine light wasn't on. My car never had a problem with changing gears. My car had no issues before being worked on by Hyundai of Alexandria. I called to get a transmission replacement quote and my call was never returned. As I write this Edward has never called me back to give me a quote on the work that needed to be done. I now dumped my unreliable Hyundai as well as the Hyundai of Alexandria dealership. I am now the owner of a Honda Pilot. If you want a reliable car I would suggest getting a Honda. No one at Hyundai gave a reason why my cars transmission would fail so early in its life. Poor customer service to say the least.

The experience we had with Steve Brenner, from Alexandria Hyundai, has been the best we ever had when buying a car. Having bought eight cars in three different countries, this means something to us, and if we would have known that the purchase experience could be so much fun we would have done it more frequently!! The whole process started when, before traveling from Maryland to Virginia, we called the dealer to see whether the car we saw in the internet was still available. Steve was the person that received the call, and when he told us that the car was not longer available he asked to give him ten minutes and we would call back with good deals in the price range we were looking for. To make a long story short, when he told us that we would be calling back he already had sold us the car that we ended up buying. So clear was this to him, that when we arrived at the parking lot, a car that looked very much like the one he described had the signal that was sold, and not known to us yet was that it had been sold to us! That was only the start. The atmosphere that Steve and Robert Clatter create at their place makes you feel that you are a distinguished guest and the best customer. We ended paying less than the already low price negotiated by phone, and this was not because the car was worth less than what we expected. For sure, the process of buying our next car will be much simpler. Done we are with the search in the internet; we already know where to find the person that will take good care of us. His name is Steve Brenner and he works at Alexandria Hyundai.

I was looking for a new Hyundai Velociter and found one at Alexandria Hyundai. I especially chose the dealership after reading the stellar on-line reviews. I wasn't disappointed. Ken Hong did a great job making the experience of purchasing a car really great. I paid the price that I wanted to pay, and he took the time to explain the entire car's operation to me. The "dreaded" trip to the finance office was a breeze. The finance manager is a consummate professional who knows his job, and he makes the entire experience quick and completely painless. I was out of the dealership and into my new car in less than an hour. My husband, who HATES car-buying, was so impressed that he turned right around and traded in his car for an Elantra GT!

I found a used Sonata on Cars.com and came by the dealership to take a look at the in stock inventory. Met with Mike and went through options and he was very knowledgable about the vehicles and offered many options in my price range. I took a test drive and enjoyed my experience at the dealership from the onset. I was not able to sign and drive on the day I went due to my schedule but mike was able to come in on Sunday, which was his day off, in order to set me up with the options we talked about the day before. Mike was extremely patient with me as I juggled a tough schedule. I did not feel pressured and had every question I asked answered with confidence. Bought a certified pre-owned Sonata and the paperwork process was not as arduous I have had in the past and Jeff, the finance contact, was really great to work with and again explained everything in detail. At the end of the day I had a great experience and felt comfortable both my purchase. This is a dealership I would recommend!

I recently purchased a Pre-owned 2012 Genesis From Alexandria Hyundia and was very happy with the sale process (Rodney) and the Finance process (Jeff)both made in so easy. I took delivery and had the car several weeks and found a couple of minor issues ,some warranty and some not. We took our daughter out looking for a 2011 Hyundai Accent (her first car) and were greated by Rob the manager and a salesman named Steve. Rob told us about his daughters and how they loved driving their Hyundai Elantra. You can tell he enjoys selling Hyundai's. He said he would take care of us and he did. We made the long drive from Maryland based on the reviews I had read about friendliness, price, selection. Don't believe it. We were looking for a used car. We finally agreed on a price and shook hands on it. The next thing I knew, the salesman rescinded the offer, told me he had made a "mistake", and the new price would be $600 higher. The confusion was explained as the difference between Maryland and Virginia sales tax. Surely this is not the first time they have dealt with a Maryland customer. And there was no one else in the dealership at the time, so no reason for any confusion with another deal. We did not like the way they did business, and breaking our verbal deal was an indication to me of trouble ahead. Buyer beware.

I highly recommend this dealership to friends & family because of their professionalism in dealing with their potential customers. They actually care about you as a person and don't treat you as if you were one customer closer to them meeting their quota. I initially requested an internet quote late one evening and received a return call from Mr. Diego Cordova bright & early the next morning. We had great conversation as he inquired about my request. I felt totally comfortable sharing my information and not pressured as with past salespersons. He also has a great sense of humor because I ribbed him about his name by saying "Go Diego, Go!! I did however prolong my visit to Alexandria Hyundai because I was awaiting approval from my credit union before I took the next step. Mr. Cordova wasn't annoying but pleasantly persistent yet patient. When I finally arrived at the dealer for the test drive, he came outside to greet me as I exited my vehicle saying, "So you must be Ms. XXXXXX! I immediately smiled and replied, "I most certainly am!" We shook hands and hit it off like we had known each other for a long time. I test drove one Hyundai but another color with more bells & whistles caught my eye. Once I inspected it closely, I knew it was going to be MY NEW BABY. The financing process went far better than I expected and I was thoroughly pleased. I was prepared to leave with a purchase order to take to my credit union. Needless to say I drove my new baby home that afternoon because it was a DONE DEAL!!!!!My salesman, Mr. Diego Cordova was OUTSTANDING!! He was very knowledgeable, confident and his professionalism was quite refreshing. His sense of humor was also admirable. When I first came into Alexandria Hyundai to test drive a 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS and a 2012 Hyundai Sonata hybrid, I was helped by Ken Hong. Ken is friendly, nice, patient, and very helpful. Two weeks later, I came back to the dealership and went on to purchase the 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS model from Ken Hong. I highly recommend him, as he is very good. There is no pressure at all when dealing with him, as I am aware that sometimes salespeople can pressure you into a price that you don't want to pay for. Ken gave me a reasonable price for my car after negotiating with him, which I am satisfied with. Ken also answered all my questions that I have about my new car, and he still remembers my name when I saw him weeks later after my purchase (which is a plus). You cannot go wrong with having Ken being your salesperson when you walk into the Alexandria Hyundai dealer. If I do know anyone who is interested in Hyundai cars, I will definitely recommend Alexandria Hyundai, and will tell him/her to look for Ken Hong when deciding to buy a car. From the moment I saw the pictures online of the vehicle to the conversation I had with Steve in the Pre-owned Department to meeting both him and Rob, the Manager, the seemingly unending saga of poor customer service had ended. Steve told me once I got there, I'd fall in love with the car -- he was right! But that's not it. I experienced first-class service from the showroom to the Finance Department. I even had the opportunity to meet the owner, Kevin, who was very personable. Last but not least, Jon, in Finance, was excellent as well. I've been the proud owner of now 3 Hyundais and this is not last Hyundai purchase. I have always owned Toyota. This was my first car other than Toyota. I came to this dealer with and we had the luck to have Ray as a sales consultant. I'd been in the market for a used car for a few weeks leading up to my purchase at Alexandria Hyundai, and my experiences at other dealerships varied from pleasant-but-not-impressive to downright sketchy. I'd read the positive reviews here and there was a car there that I was interested in, so I dropped by to see if it was still there. Well, it wasn't. But Steve, the lone salesman in the used car part of the dealership, took me out to the lot (which turns over very frequently with the volume they sell) and had me look at a similar model as the one I'd seen online. Firstly, Steve is a great guy. Pleasant, chatty, and down to earth. Rob, his friend/manager, is cut from the same mold, too. Secondly, the people they have detailing the cars in that lot do an absolutely outstanding job. Aside from very slight cosmetic blemishes that happen when you own a car (slight scuffs on the console, scuffs on the driver door where you hit your feet, etc.), the interiors were completely immaculate. Fresh coat of wax on the exterior. Really impressive, spotlessly clean pre-owned vehicles. Thirdly, they'll fix anything that you see wrong with the car if you notice it while you take a spin. They offered to replace or take a look at every little thing that I noticed in the vehicle. They fill the car with a tank of gas if you buy and drive it home. Very low pressure environment, and though I didn't have kids at the dealership when I was there, I can only imagine that Steve would have entertained them too. Ended up purchasing a car because their offer was below private party sale value, probably only $200 more than what they gave for the trade-in in the first place. They probably made most of their money on the processing fee (that was just under $500; pretty average for dealerships in the area). Comparable certified vehicles in the area were going for literally $2500 more than what I ended up leaving the dealership with. I'd done a lot of research before and knew that their prices were already extremely competitive; there wasn't much need to haggle because their prices speak for themselves. I would definitely purchase a car from them again. If I bought new, I would probably buy from Steve just so he could give the guys in the other half of the dealership a hard time about it. It was an all-around extremely positive experience. I opted out of all the extra warranties and the managers taking care of the paperwork didn't try twisting my arm or guilting me into anything. I like the dynamic of their dealership and would certainly recommend them to anyone. If there's a car that you like online and you're considering going in, do it. I was skeptical of the reviews that I saw about their dealership, but I ended up walking out with a car that I have no regrets about purchasing.

I had been shopping around for a certified Hyundai (specifically for the warranty and peace of mind). I went to a total of 3 Hyundai dealers. I ended up at Alexandria Hyundai. I was amazed at their inventory of certified pre owned Hyundais. Not only did they have a vehicle that was perfect for me, I was quite impressed with their staff. I was caught a little off guard while there, however. I was talking to the salesman, and noticed a dog had stopped at their showroom door. When I asked about the dog, I was told..."oh, he is one of our regulars". The dog was simply sitting by the door, awaiting his 'daily' treat. Not only does the dealership take very well care of their customers, they also take care of 4 legged visitors with doggie biscuits. Nice People, Nice Prices, I believe is their slogan~I will now also be a 'regular'. Definately worth the drive to them~ Thanks again~

I was able to find a deal on a car buying site for a new Hyundai Sonata. Even though, Alexandria Hyundai was not mentioned as a specific dealer on that site, I told Ray Jacobs about my deal, and he said it would be no problem at all. And, it wasn't! He accepted my deal, was extremely friendly and helpful...and made the car-buying process easy and quick (how many people can say that?). The F & I representative was also extremely helpful and didn't waste my time with trying to move my rate around or sell me a bunch of extras that I did not need. I just went back to the dealership to pay for the car, and stopped to ask him a question about the wheel locks on my car. He was more than happy to help, and walked out with me to show me how they worked. If it's possible to go go above "above and beyond," Ray does.Negotiation was nonexistent, I just used TrueCar to find a fair price for both of us and Ray said let's do it. I didn't want to negotiate, and with Ray, I didn't have to. Everybody I worked with at Alexandria Hyundai was helpful, and although I'm young, they treated me just like anyone else. I purchased a Hyundai Sonata from Malloy after visiting another much larger dealership near me in the DC area. I have since had one oil change and I am very satisfied with both their follow up from the sales staff and the service visit. They were very willing to actually deal with me on price and they treated me as a person. The other dealer was very busy and had a take it or leave it attitude. The dealership does not look as new or fancy but that translated into a less than list price deal for me. I really like these guys and galls at this dealership. The service call was very easy to set and I was there for only 40 minutes for an oil change. I will definitely keep going to this dealer.

I saw the new Sonota out on the road last week and thought it was beautiful so when I was in Alexandria, VA yesterday, Saturday, stopped by Alexandria Hyundai so I could see this car close up! It truly Is a gorgeous car, but thats not why I'm writing this review...Let me start by saying I come from a long line of Honda owners. My grandparents drove a Honda, my parents have owned Hondas all their lives and I have followed suit and have also owned nothing but Hondas all my life. I kind of felt like a traitor even stopping by the Hyundai dealership yesterday! The reason I'm writing this review is because of the exemplary customer service I received from SCOTT FRISON! Scott was busy yesterday, running here and there helping another couple when I arrived, but even so, he took the time to greet me and find out what I needed. When he finished with his other customers, he went directly to me and gave me his full undivided attention. He educated me quite thoroughly about the Sonata and answered all my questions in the most professional manner. I told him I felt like a traitor to Honda and my family by being at his Hyundai dealership and he helped put my mind at ease. He didn't try to use those crazy salesman tactics to get me to buy the car. Instead, he gave me all the information and assured me that he would be there when I was ready to make the transition. I am not yet ready to switch...my family won't understand, but after seeing the Sonata close up and spending time with Scott, I am a few steps closer to makeing a change! I never thought I would say that! (Sorry Honda) When I do make the decision to move over to Hyundai, I will go to Alexandria Hyundai and see SCOTT FRISON and no one else! I've got my dentist, and my doctor...now, I've got my car salesman! Thank you, Scott, for the exemplary customer service you showed me yesterday! I left feeling happy about the possibilities! I was looking for an elantra at the dealership near my hometown but they were sold out so we decided to try Alexandria Hyundai. It was probably the best choice that I have made! It was a little out of the way (two other hyundai dealerships are closer to me) but it was worth the trip out here. This dealership has a family atmosphere type of vibe to it. It's kind of small compared to any honda or toyota dealership, but they get the job done. They are good on price - i guess they'd rather sell a car at a lower profit and sell more cars than not sell cars at all. they were pretty straightforward and there was no back and forth necessary for me to get the deal i wanted. they honored the deal we had agreed to over the phone.I would recommend a couple of guys here - Mr. Ken Hong who is the internet sales guy, as well as the general manager/part owner mr. Danny Lee. these guys were legitimate and didn't waste my time. Coming out of a dealership with no bad surprises in the buying experience is good. Days after the purchase they followed up to make sure everything was okay with the new ride. Whether that was just a formal forced policy or it was done out of sincerity didn't matter to me.

I had an awful car-buying experience with this dealership. This deal started over the phone and lasted 3 weeks, only for me to not get the car at all. I was told I needed to come in that day in order to sign paperwork to hold the car, and that the car was en route to the dealership. The salesperson had several opportunities to be upfront about the fact that the car had not even made it out of Korea yet, and he did not communicate that until one and a half weeks after I signed paperwork. Deeply disappointing and inconvenient, esp since I had a buyer for my existing car. The one good thing was the dealer was willing to give me a loaner car while I continued to wait for the car I ordered. I did have to ask for this, it was not automatically offered. The dealer even drove it to my house, but again, only after I asked. The wait turned out to be 3 weeks, and I had been told verbally it takes up to a week and 2 days. Whenever the dealer communicated with me in writing he claimed he told me it would take up to 2 weeks. So not only was the dealer not upfront and honest with me, but when I brought it up he would lie about what he had said. The dealer also claimed it was necessary for me to put down money to hold the car but it turns out that was not true so I gave them money when I could have done a promissory note. He later denied not having told me this was an option. I ended up not buying the car after I was told it would be driven to my house once it arrived. The sales person and I scheduled a day for it to be delivered and on that day I called, and was told he was off. I asked to speak to the manager, who told me no one else could drive it to my house, even though his sales person had promised that the car would be delivered to me on that day. Finally, the sales person calls and says he was planning to deliver it even though he was off, but this was something the manager never took time to check on; he simply refused to accommodate me and quickly suggested that I not buy the car if I was unhappy. So I took him up on that suggestion and refused to buy the car. Three weeks of dissatisfaction.

I've been to many dealerships and Alexandria Hyundai gave me the most comfort and the best communication. I recommend this dealership and especially the dealer who worked with me, Joon. He often gave me calls about good deals and even after i bought the car, he still called me to check if everything is fine. I dont regret buying a car there. Joon gave me a good deal, which I thought it was pretty good price for my Sonata.

I was in the market for a new vehicle. My brother owns a Hyundai Sonata. My sister owns a Subaru Forester. It was a hard choice between both vehicle manufacturers. In the end, the Hyundai won the day. I purchased a Hyundai Elantra Touring. It's a wagon. The vehicle it replaced was a wagon. A wagon suits my needs. I play golf and I am a music hobbyist. This vehicle accommodates both activities with plenty of storage space and more, with the back seats folded down. The Sonata and other Hyundai sedans have great trunk space. However, for ease of moving things in and out, the Touring works the best.The people at Alexandria Hyundai are top notch. Bryan worked with me through the entire sales process. He was very easy to work with. The same goes for Jeff Linzey in the Financing Department. I did not feel pressured in any aspect of the process.I also had the pleasure of meeting the dealership owner, Kevin Reilly. We had a lengthy discussion about the marketing of his dealership and its products.I would recommend Alexandria Hyundai to anyone in the market for a new Hyundai vehicle without hesitation.

Would like to say that I went there skeptical I would find a car I'd like. Sales Consultant Byran helped me pick out different colors. I sat in a few cars. Checked out the colors and look. He was very patient. (!) I eventually settled on the Silver Blue Santa Fe. I rate the whole transaction from viewing, to test driving, to financing, to number crunching and to driving away a 11 out of 10, 10 being the best. Glad I bought my Santa Fe there. They were very willing to work with me to find and buy my first new car. I thought it would be a very stressful event, but it went well. I had a very good idea what I wanted going in there but they helped me materialize it. I've bought pre-certified before... but after renting a hyundai the weekend before knew I wanted to buy a new one. Thanks, Bryan and all at Hyundai Alexandria.

I absolutely loved working with Eric! It was the easiest car buying experience I've ever had. There was no pressure and no haggling. He gave us the best price that he could and I am able to leave with a car that I love! He never once pressured us to go a bit higher in our payments like other dealers had tried to do and he never tried to sell us something that I didn't need. I would definitely buy a car from him again.

As many of you know, having a big family with small cars we used to have was a big stress. I've been to many dealers and other companies to get the best deal and so that i wouldn't get ripped off because I am a female. When i walked in Alexandria Hyundai, Joon welcomed me, which was very pleasing to me. I liked the fact how he answered all my question with respect because when i went to the other dealerships, they were kind of annoyed of my foolish amount of questions just to buy one car. I bought 2009 Santa Fe for my family and i was able to make a good deal with Joon. The first impression of Hyundai wasn't that great to me, but after the purchase and the deal, I insist that I've made the right choice.

Sales consultant Brian Boone listened to us from his initial introduction. He took us on test drives with the Touring and the Tuscon and throughout our transaction was friendly while being respectful and attendant to our questions and requirements. He took us through our purchase easily, never pressuring us to buy and always with a smile. Jeff Linzey, the finance manager, was equally friendly and professional.We bought the 2009 Tucson and so far are very happy. I love my Genesis. Soon as I decide to get first Hyundai Genesis, I call around and check Hyundai Website. I found Alexandria Hyundai dealership offer me best price around the area and I ask Eric, can he bring the Genesis to my home. Since it is 5 hour drive. He glad to send someone to drive to my door. Friend of mine recommended me to go to Alexnadria Hyundai because of their experience there. I spoke to a guy named Eric Cho and truthfully, there are only a few salesman out there that I don't feel uncomfortable with and luckily...he was one of them. That makes things go a bit smoother, I think. I don't know too much about cars so he was patient enough to break it down for me. I told him I was indecisive in between three different makes. That genesis sure is nice. Well Eric Cho was even nice enough to stick with me rather than rush me off. That definitely narrows it down more. In the end, it's all about customer service and the car. Good experience,Eric Cho was very helpful & understanding.

We just got our new Huyndai from this dealership and we were very satisfied. Bryan Boone who walked us thru the selection and purchase was very helpful, efficient and very friendly. We negotiated a good price for our new car and drove it off the same day. Not only that, but Bryan even helped us push our clunker since we were not able to start it so we had to push manually to the repair shop of the dealership.Great experience. My wife and I had an excellent experience buying a 2009 Sante Fe Limited AWD from Alexandria Hyundai on 9/5/09. Sales Consultant Ryan Gamble was terrific to deal with, no pressure, easy going, personable...we really enjoyed working with him to get what we wanted at the price we wanted! He went out of his way to make sure we were totally satisfied before we drove the Sante Fe off of the lot and made it clear that he was there for us if we had any questions or needed any assistance in the future. We also enjoyed wrapping up the deal with Finance Manager Peter Choi. He was also very personable and wanted to be certain that we were satisfied when all was said and done, even though we used our own financing to make the purchase! In total, it was a great buying experience, the best I have had buying a new car during the past 23 years. Oh, and the Sante Fe, it is fantastic! Fit and finish couldn't be better, the Limited version leaves you wanting nothing more from the vehicle, the value is probably without compare for this type of vehicle. We have enjoyed driving it and listening to the awesome stereo this weekend, and can't wait to use it for outdoor adventures this Fall and way beyond! Also, the Hyundai Assurance Price-lock for the gas was easy to register for, the card came to us quickly in the mail, and I have already used it twice, very simple to use and who wouldn't love getting gas at $1.49 a gallon!!!

The problem with online review is that anyone can write them - you can create multiple accounts without any real verification. I had a hunch something wasn't right on their glowing reviews on Google and so I went over to Edmunds.com and found much less glowing reviews. Anyway, I stopped by Alexandria Hyundai and had an awful experience. Be very wary of this dealership. Their website provides eprices for each car and so I decided to go in and take one for a test drive. When I arrived to take a test drive, the sales person informed me prices were only good if I qualified for all of their rebates. Rebates included recent college graduates and active military. When I told the sales agent that it seemed a little sketchy that they didn't spell this out online, he seemed offended and would hardly look at us. I asked the sales person to convince me about the cars safety rating(after looking at a Jetta) and he made some snotty comment about, "here we go again." I could get almost no information out of the him. I could get almost no usual information from the salesperson. Absolutely awful dealership!

Terrible experience, still bought car.The salesmen and the Managers were all very rude to me. I had many bad experiences over the course of buying my elantra. If I did not want an elantra so badly I would have just left and gone to Nissan or Honda.Customer service was horrible. Part-owner, Danny, was the only redeeming person with witch I had any dealings.Eric Cho and the Manager named Andy were the worst of them all. Lies, belittling comments, condescension and above all no significant knowledge of the automobiles being sold. I do not think that it was an English as a Second Language issue, as much as an incompetence issue.I do not recommend them.

Mr. Jacobs was very polite and easy to work with. My husband and I informed Mr. Jacobs of the type of vehicle we were looking for and Mr. Jacobs located it for us. There was no hassle with the deal. SAVE YOURSELF!!!! I have taken my car to this dealership for the simplest oil change and, I am not kidding, it takes a minimum of 3 hours to get anything done. They tell you to bring your car in at 7:30 am and they "will have you out by 8:15am" Not true.....I recently found out that the mechanics don't even get there until 8am, how can the possibly do anything by 8:15??? All I have to say is, if they can't make good on the time frames for services AND proceed to decieve how long services will take to complete, how can you be sure the car you are purchasing is reliable???
