I'm not typically one to write reviews, but this experience was so terrible, I believe other people need to be aware. I went in around 4-4:15 PM on Monday, February 8, looking for a truck - and fully prepared to buy - as they had a beautiful Tacoma right on their lot. I went inside to find a salesperson, only to have two employees shuffling around and about. I could hear someone on a call with another potential buyer, and am a pretty understandable person, so I waited for the call to end. During this time, I had at least two different employees walk by and around me - including one who saw me walk in the door. I didn't get a "hello" or "hi" or even a, "I'll let someone know you're here" from either employee who walked by me (this despite the fact that one employee walked into his office while on a call for something completely different). I didn't even get eye contact, which I was trying to establish. It was almost like I was completely ignored. So, I sat and waited for the call to end. After the call ended, I waited a few minutes before realizing that this particular dealership wasn't interested in my business. This is fine, because there are plenty of trucks out their and several dealerships that actually do care about customer service. So, I'll take the 20-30k I was prepared to drop on the spot and go buy elsewhere. If you consider customer service and courtesy as equally important aspects of buying, I would implore you to consider doing the same.

I called Joe Maus Ford Wed. 9/23/20. The person that answered had me on speaker and I could immediately tell this was someone leaned back away from their phone with no care in the world with what I was talking about. I relayed the message that I was pulling out into a road in my 2010 Ford Escape when my steering wheel locked and I could not turn it. I had no control over steering and almost got hit by two vehicles on both sides. I told this person I looked into this and entered my vin # online, which said I have a recall on the electric power steering. I checked into this and this is exactly what happened from what I saw online and going to the ford dealership online. He kept responding with..”It is going to be a $95 diagnostic if it is not a recall problem” I asked aside from my vehicle, how long does it take for a problem with electric steering to be fixed ”. He kept repeating he “didn’t know because he didn’t know my vehicle”. I asked from Wednesday if Friday was the soonest available and he said yes. I just moved here and a friend recommended I call Beachum Ford in Wadesboro. I called them on Thursday and as soon as I called in Scott asked me the issues that had happened and immediately knew what was going on. He went as far to ask me for my vin # (which I had previously said explained before at Joe Maus- they didn’t ask or care about anything besides booking me for a diagnosis and $95). Scott said yes mam’ you have a recall on your vehicle and you can bring it in now. I will recommend a small town business who cares about it’s customers over Joe Maus any day. If you want good service, go to Beachum Ford in Wadesboro.
