I bought my first car from berkenkotte, I bought a 2004 Ford f250, it has a lift and great tires which saved me so much money and it has great interior and I fall in love with this truck and Daniel and Harti was awesome and great with calling us back and getting us details on the truck. I would recommend this dealer to. My friends cause of there rapid reply and cause the truck is great.

I would not buy a vehicle from this dealership. I went to the one in brighton, co. I was meet by Alan Turner. Everything was fine at first as I test drove an f150. After the test drive I went into the office to talk numbers with Alan. I was trying to trade in my truck that I still owe on. I was told that he would work on it over the weekend and he would call me back. After I had to call him 4 days later, was told he could not to a deal because the miles on my truck or I SHOULD WALK AWAY FROM MY LOAN. That is bad practice by any dealership. For another thing they have vehicles on there lot with more miles and are newer than mine truck.

I went to the brighton store to buy a pickup and that was the best buying experience I have ever had there is no pressure to buy a vehicle. After I purchased my truck a week later the fuel sending unit went out so I called the owner Dan and he said that even though it was not covered under the warranty that he would replace it or he would just pay for the part over the phone and I could replace it my self and he kept to his word he paid for the part and I replaced it and now the truck is back running again. Thank you to all Berkenkotter employees for the best buying experience.

All in all, we as a family have bought more than 100 Vehicle's from Berkenkotters. We we have had trouble with one they make it rite. Dan, BJ, Alan and Steve are great people to work with. If they don't have what you are looking for...just tell them and they will find it. I have a 2012 Dodge cummings and a 2013 Jeep grand cherokee limited that they found for me and my wife. Harti helped my husband buy a replacement truck. He was t-boned and insurance didn't cover all of the old truck that was totalled. Hardi made us feel like he was working for us and was doing everything he could for us the entire time. He even spent time going over the hubby's credit report and showing us stuff we didn't even know was there! He gave us a great deal on a truck that my husband is delighted with (my words, not his). We will recommend Harti and Berkenkotter to anyone looking for a vehicle and a great deal with excellent, excellent customer service. This is the first trip to a dealership that was pleasant and we didn't leave feeling like we got taken. Great place! Harti is the finest car salesman I have ever dealt with!

I had looked for a small "all wheel drive" wagon without success until I went on Berkenkotter Motor's of Brighton web site. I found what I was looking for and Harti Stein was easy to work with. Driving the car home, the "check engine" light came on and Harti took care of the problem right away. A recurrence of the problem had me wondering, but Harti came in on his day off and accompanied me to the service center and waited with me to make sure the problem was taken care of. Didn't expect that. Great service after the sale. Thanks, Harti. I love my new car.

I had been looking for a small 'all wheel drive' wagon; Craig's List, Auto Trader and I couldn't find what I was looking for until I decided to look at Berkenkotter Motors in Brighton. I drive by frequently and am always impressed with their lot and what they have to offer.I checked their inventory on line and found a match. I met Harti Stein on the lot, a most engaging fellow, and after a satisfactory test drive, we made the deal. On the way home, the "check engine" light came on. I phoned Harti and told him what happened and he immediately took the car in to replace an O2 sensor. Again the "check engine" light came on and Harti came in on his day off and accompanied me to the shop and waited until the problem was solved. I call that great customer service after the sale. Thanks, Harti. I love my new car.

These guys are the epitome of a sleazy used car dealer from start to finish. We went to look at a few trucks and they handed us the keys - I thought that it was weird that they wouldn't show us the trucks and you know, "sell" them to us, but I brushed it off. Every truck we looked at was dirty and un-detailed. They kept saying they didn't have time to get them detailed yet, but we looked at half a dozen and they were all dirty and gross. Whatever, I thought, they've got good prices, no big deal if I have to shampoo the carpets myself I guess. The salesman we worked with was an excellent salesman in that he got his money and incredibly shortchanged us for our trade-in, but he unfortunately has no idea how to do the paperwork involved in selling a car. First there was something he forgot to have us sign, so we had to drive back (an hour drive each way) to sign that. Then, as we are trying to register our vehicle and get plates, the county tells us that the dealer hasn't yet filed the title paperwork. We had to get temporary tags for months after we bought the car, losing a day of work every 2 weeks to go sit in the registration office over and over. Then, right before the deadline on even renewing temporary plates is about up, I get paperwork dated a month earlier from Berkenkotter saying that they didn't have the paperwork needed to file the for the title. And they had to wait to send me a check for taxes they illegally collected after I told the salesman Derek over and over what county I lived in and he flat out didn't believe me and filed in another county instead, causing more of a delay.I am left scrambling to do the title paperwork myself now, losing more work, because Berkenkotter's salespeople and title clerk are flat out incompetent. The minimal money we thought we'd save buying from them instead of a certified dealer was in no way worth the months of headaches they caused.I have literally never had such a negative experience buying anything in my life. Save yourself the headache - go to someone who is trustworthy.

I started my looking for a new to me used truck and had located a couple vehicles in Denver, in the Castle Rock area and with Berkenkotter. After driving the vehicle in Denver, which died on me once i pulled back into the lot I left and headed to Castle Rock. The first dealer was absolutely horrid, it was a bigger dealer ship with 100's of cars and trucks. Right off the bat they wouldn't listen, wouldn't give us prices and when we gave them a top end budget the continued to push thousands above what we had told them. Finally frustrated and ready to go home my wife and I decided to head just down the street to Berkenkotter. We were immediately greeted by Dan Berkenkotter and he was extremely helpful even when the vehicle we wanted was not available. after driving a couple more vehicles Dan let us take one of the vehicles we looked at on an extended test drive to see what we thought. After deciding against the first truck I returned a couple days later and was greeted by Glen who was extremely helpful and let me drive several vehicles even vehicles that were at different lots they owned. Finally I found the one! Now it came to numbers and my trade in. Glen was amazing and honest helped me through the entire process gave me a more than fair price on my trade and the price on the Truck i wanted was out standing! The final process was quick and painless and I was out the door in less than 30 minutes!!!!I wil definitely be returning and recommending anyone looking for a vehicle to start their search here!!

These guys are awesome! I started off in the Castlerock store the other day where I met Allen who was incredibly nice. Allen didnt have anything on his lot that fit my needs so he directed me to the Parker location. Upon arriving at the Parker location I met Sam, who was very rude and unprofessional. The typical sleezy used car salesman, the one who gives the rest a bad name. This guy was a real piece of work and treated me to the most miserable car buying experience he could manage. We did eventually come to an agreement, after much bickering, where I would pick the truck up the next day after Sam made some repairs and other things. To make a long story short Sam did not hold his end of the bargain and I had to call the deal off. I was very disapointed and frustrated with the whole experience and swore off Berkenknotter Motors. I searched for a few more days for something I liked and ended up back in Castlerock. I remembered how nice it was working with Allen and decided to give Berkenknotter Motors another shot, Maybe they aren't all like Sam. This time I had the pleasure of dealing with Allen again and owner Dan, who worked dilligently to find a truck to fit my needs. They found me a 2003 Ford F150 on thier Brighton lot. A beautiful truck at a great price. I took the drive to Brighton, where I honestly had the best car buying experience possible. I looked the truck over up and down. In and out. Took it on a long test drive and decided this was the truck for me. Now for the part everyone hates. The haggeling. I sat down in the office with Hartie and shot him a fair price. Rather than try to wrench his fingers into my pocket book like most salesman do, he agreed it was and we struck a deal. Bam,that simple. I was out of there in under an hour. Unheard of. Hartie, Dan, and Allen treated me so well there is now way I will go anywhere else to buy vehicles in the future. These guys have earned my business as a loyal customer and I will recomend them to anyone looking for a used car or truck. These guys sell cars like cars should be sold. Honestly and professionally. Thanks guys.

Dear potential used car buyer:Please be aware that the old bait and switch technique that I thought I was too savvy a consumer to fall prey to is alive and in good use at Berkenkotter Motors. I am writing this to remind potential used car buyers not to Drive Berkenkotter Motors Reputation until after looking first into a dozen other dealers who offer some sort of 30 day money back guarantee. Trust me; it will save you and your family a lot of time, hassle and money. Long story short, we purchased a used SUV from Berkenkotter Motors and by the time we returned home to Colorado Springs, the truck was running rough. By the end of the next day, the check engine light was on and the SUV was stalling at stop lights. We took it back to Berkenkotter to look at. We did this for several weeks until Dan Berkenkotter texted me that we needed a new motor. Berkenkotter offered to help either replace the motor at our cost or swap this SUV for another one. We opted for the next best thing, which turned out to be a four door pickup truck with more miles, less features, and cost $2,000 more. We paid $11,400 four our SUV with a significant cash down payment. The price of the next best thing was $13,500. Mr. Berkenkotter kept reminding us that he was going to go out of his way to purchase our SUV for $10,000 and take it to auction to sell it on our behalf. Mind you we paid $11,400 for it three weeks earlier, and it sat at his mechanics garage for most of that time. With gritted teeth, we took the more expensive truck, and the thicker payment book. Buying a car should be a fun, happy experience. My wife and I drove home from Berkenkotter for the fourth time in three weeks in silence, feeling like they had tattooed the words suckers across our foreheads. We could not shake the feeling that we had just given them $1,700 for three weeks of aggravation. Mr. Berkenkotter kept reminding us that not every dealership was as kind and generous as he was in taking back our trade, and allowing us to upgrade to a different vehicle. After a sleepless night of thinking about this, I would bet ANY dealership would be more than happy to take our $1,400 plus another $300 in handling fees and do the exact same thing they did for us. Berkenkotter Motors should have just put our cash down payment onto the more expensive truck, and maybe filled the fuel tank for three weeks of our time and trouble. We would have left happy and content, telling all our friends of our great experience there. Now we see it as our civic duty to warn others to shop around first. Berkenkotter Motors will miss out on my future business, and as many people as I can warn, all at the cost of taking an extra $1,700 from our family.

This is the first online review I have ever done, it is just not something that I do. But I was so completely pleased with my whole experience with Berkenkotter Motors that I am more than happy to write this review. I was looking for a very specific and hard-to-find cargo van for my contractor business. I did a national search and was prepared to have to buy out of state. I was very pleased to see that Berkenkotter Motors in Castle Rock had it just a drive away and for a better price than any of the out of state dealers. I worked with Roman, who was very professional and personable. He gave me a great deal on the vehicle and when I made a severe error on the paperwork he went the extra mile to make the corrections. In every aspect of my buying experience I give Berkenkotter Motors a perfect 10. I would and do recommend them to my friends and family and I feel confident recommending them to you.

Dan Berkenkotter and the people he has working managing his stores are great folks. Yes, they are car sales people, and yes, they are in business to make a profit - but these guys are refreshingly different than most I have experienced (ESPECIALLY when it comes to Used Car/Truck dealers!). Most used vehicle sales people have 3 purposes - 1) sell you the vehicle TODAY, 2) at the HIGHEST price they can get, and, 3) tell you only the good things about the vehicle (and sometimes LIE about it). The folks at Berkenkotter (especially the Castle Rock stores I've done business in) are courteous and helpful and don't try a hard close, the prices are usually fair (and if you negotiate, they give you straight-up answers -- not the BS where you sit there for an hour while the sales manager and sales person try to sweat you into paying their price!), and they'll tell you all they know about the vehicle. If you're in the market for a used truck or car in the southeast suburbs of Denver, these guys are a great option!

I have bought a total of 2 trucks from The Brighton Location. They go beyond what is required to make the "deal". If they don't have what you are looking for at the location you are at but there is a truck at another store (they have 4 locations) they will arrange the transfer of the truck for you. So you do not have to drive to the other stores.I told them that I wanted a 12v Cummins that was in "good" shape. They did not have it in stock. As soon as one came in stock I was called and the deal was signed within 24 hrs of the truck arriving at the Dealer. Harti, George, Derek, and Mike work very hard to make car shopping easy on me. I have bought cars / trucks from other dealers over the years and it was always a headache. But here at Berkenkotter I did not have any headaches and have come back to buy a 2nd truck. (which was the 12v cummins.) My first one was a F350 in June of 2012.

I bought a 2009 Dodge Diesel truck from Berkenkotter in Castle Rock, and just three days after purchase a key emissions component failed leaving the vehicle undrivable. The piece that failed could not have been predicted, nor was it of any fault of the dealer. Instead of just giving sympathy to a very costly repair, they actually called to the Dodge dealership and checked the vin to find the part could be replaced under warranty, and then picked up the truck themselves from the repair shop and took to the dealer and got the work done. This was all on their own and was not asked of them. I cannot be appreciative enough for their customer service.

I just purchased a Dodge Ram 2500 here and was very pleased with my experience. Unlike a typical dealership, the experience was very personal and friendly. They went out of their way to make the deal work. I would highly recommend shopping here. I visited the one off Wilcox in Castle Rock.

My wife and I went to Berkenkotter to help our son buy a truck that he just had to have. I went into the dealership in a bad mood just because I wasn't ready to have the sit down for 4 hours and make a deal. Needless to say it was the exact opposite in this dealership! The selection of trucks was excellent and the experience with Harti, our sales rep., was nothing but pleasant. He put my son in a truck he can afford and made the usual experience of dealing with car dealers a thing of the past. Harti had the truck looked at and anything and everything that needed to be worked on or gone through to make me feel better about the purchase he had fixed at no additional cost and covered under warranty. I cannot express enough of a pleasant experience with Harti and the Berkenkotter Dealership! If looking for a used pick up truck I recommend giving them a chance!

I found a truck on line and the price was right and the pictures looked good.I called and they know the truck right off and were very easy to deal with.From seeing it on line to driving it home took less than 4 hours of my time andthe best part was that when I called to say the wiper blades were awful, they had a set waiting there the next morning and put them on for me when I stopped back by. GREAT PLACE!!!

This dealership was great. I surprised at the great selection they had, and Harti even showed me inventory at the other stores--so really great selection, esp. of trucks (what I was looking for). Prices were really good--I feel like I got a really good deal, and will definitely go there again as well as recommend it to others. Their whole inventory is online complete with tons of photos--that was super helpful. I drove over an hour to get there and the truck looked exactly as the photos showed online--very glad I made the trip.Thanks for the great service -- and I love the John Wayne photos in the office!

Bought through Ebay online classifieds and 66 pictures given of RV. However none were closeups of damage found once there. They did not state water damage extensive on back of RV and the side of the RV came off while driving it home and the fuel pump gave out on drive home. I have had to put over 2500. more into RV and they even lost the cashiers check we gave them to pay for it. Then held our title for over 3 months and put us through trying to get them their cashiers check replaced which we tried to do but it was only for them to request the replacement. However during this time they offered to pay us 2000.00 for the non stated damages in the ad and to make things right, However now they will not return calls and said they would call back and will not honor their previous offer. Seems once they got their lost check they just sent us the title and wanted nothing more to do with this lemon of a RV. I have been in retail for 30 years and in customer service and I recommend you find a reputable place to buy your vehicle and their motto is drive our reputation. Really?

I like the last two comments, probably employees is my guess. The customer service was mediocre at best and was the only positive aspect of our experience at first. We did not end up buying the vehicle as I felt we needed to do some more browsing which dropped the service level immediately. True the price is nice, but the quality is suspect in most of the vehicles we were interested in. We were not impressed with anyone in the office and will not be recommending Berkankotter in the future. BUYER BEWARE...

As usual, only the couple whiners post reviews and so otherwise good people get slammed on the internet so I decided to write my review of the vehicle I purchased from them. We are repeat customers of the Brighton location and this last time we bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee. They did not have one in stock but after calling them and telling them what I wanted, they called me back the next week and said they had one that would fit all my requirements. We looked, drove, and bought. Paperwork and all were done in about an hour. They can make things simple in a complicated world. I have found everywhere in life, if you are nice to them, they will be nice to you.

I traded my motorcycle in and purchased a Ford F-250. The customer service is good but could be better. Approximately two days after purchasing the Ford F-250, the check engine light came on. I took the Ford (Diesel) to Lake Arbor in Westminster and invested another $1, 0000 plus dollars into an EGR sensor, updates and other various issues. Two days after having all the work done to the vehicle, the check engine light came on again (this time for a low boost turbo). I took it back to Lake Arbor and determined Berkenkotter Motors had flashed the check engine light prior to selling the truck. They advised it is typical for the check engine light to be off for two days before returning back on. Even though the truck was sold as is I took it back to see if I could trade it in for another truck (in better running condition). Hardi and the manager were willing to take it back but not for what they sold it to me for. They told me they would take the truck back for $16,000. My purchase price was $22,000! They were going to upended me by $6000 on top of charging me for dealer handling fees and such forth. Needless to say, I walked out and figured I wouldnt be back.Approximately two weeks later, I went to the Adams County DMV to register the Ford. I was advised the dealership had not sent in the title-work and I was charged an additional fee to extend the temporary tag until the proper documentation had been turned in. I contacted Berkenkotter Motors and they advised the paper work had been sent in and would be ready to go. I went back to the DMV the following week and again was told they had not received it. I contacted Hardi who advised it was the lending banks fault for not submitting the documentation. I contacted the bank who advised the paperwork had been incorrectly filled out and had to send it back into the dealership. At this point, I am still waiting to register the Ford and have been unable to track down the title-work. I recommend to anyone interested in purchasing a vehicle through this dealership to think twice and remember what I went through. This dealership is unprofessional, un organized and cheaters (flashing the check engine light).I recommend that you dont do any business with Berkenkotter Motors even though they do have a good selection in trucks. I recommend shopping around with larger dealerships to find the truck your looking for.

I purchased a used truck from them in June. For the past 3 months, I have been working on repairing this vehicle after I took it to the only reputable dealership in the metro area for this make of truck. They had stated that there were over $7K in problems that were not taken care of before it was sold. Also, the tires in the rear were 8 years old on a 3 year old truck telling us that used tires were probably put on this vehicle before it was sold. One of the tires blew out while towing a trailer causing damage to the truck, that is when I realized I had not checked for jack assembly or accessories, neither of which existed. Many attempts to call, no call back. Settled on a series of nasty emails that were never responded to. The only time they called was a couple days after the sale, they wanted parts for my trade in. No way I was going to give them anything after selling me an unsafe vehicle at full price. Johnson in Brighton is an excellent facility, excellent service professionals and are not vultures in the sales room. If you plan to go to Berkenkotter for an American made vehicle, dont bother, head over to Johnson instead. They took care of everything wrong with my vehicle, billed it all back to the manufacturer warranty and now I drive all the way from Castle Rock to Brighton for service from Johnson, they are really that good. I normally do not advertise for anyone, but Johnson was the EXACT opposite of Berkenkotter, I wish I would have gone there instead. DO NOT BUY FROM BMOTORS.

I have purchased 2005 Acura MDX from Berkenkotter Motors in Brighton and Castle Rock Colorado used car dealer. As soon as I drove home, I found that there is oil leak not from oil pan or oil drain plug. Oil was all over under chasis and I carefully inspected and I found out that it was there for a long time. The oil leak was slow and cumulating on the under chasis cover and overflowing from there. It will take while to cummulate and over flow from the cover. I took it to the dealer told him about the problem and they don't deny the problem. But they don't want to refund the money since vehicle is sold "AS IS". So I look up what "AS IS" meant, it says it does not shield dealer from mis-leading or mis-representing to make sale. Clearly, they knew about the problem, but they decided not to tell me the problem existed.I have requested to cancel the contract as soon as I found out and so far, they are refusing to do so.
