Colby Kay is the man to see when when interested in buying a new or used BMW. He was helpful, honest, and without any pressure.

At one time I would have recommended the quality of the BMW service department. Sadly, now, I can no longer do so. My BMW had a rough idle, and was towed to their service department. They replaced one part after another, and the issue was not resolved. After several follow up phone calls, I was told that I would need to have the engine rebuilt. Being skeptical of the diagnosis, and fear of being taken for a ride (sorry for the pun) I paid the balance so I could have my car released, and had it towed to a nearby garage for repairs. That mechanic discovered that one of the bolts holding the timing chain wasnt tightened and was the cause of the engine problems. Coincidentally, the BMW service department replaced that timing chain a year earlier. Im currently exploring the option of filing a complaint with the DMV. This is my opinion

First off, please read my reviews, all of which are negative, about this dealer. Second, email me if you've ever had shady dealings with Elias. If you've read my last review, you should have, you will see my experience with Elias was not great. He tried to extort 1k out of me, thinking I was going to give him the cash. Please email if you've had dealings with this individual like mine, my email is koartist77ataol.com

I just purchased my 6th BMW from Brian Fisher at BMW of New London. He and the rest of the staff once again created a great experience for me. Brian with his great knowledge of BMWs always seems to know exactly what I'm looking for and always has my budget in mind. Brian is not just there for the sale but is always a phone call away when I need a loaner car when my car is in for regular service or just have a question about my BMW. I have recommended numerous friends and family to Brian and they have all had the same experience as I have. Thank you Brian and the staff at BMW of New London.

I'm going to keep this short. Purchased 4 BMWs from this dealer and when I went to trade and order a new BMW the price plunged on the trade. Lou and Eli are very cunning in screwing people as a team. Bottom line went to BMW of Newport and blown away with customer service, amount given on trade (more than 3000) more than BMW of New London and better deal on car ordered. Go to BMW of Newport you won't be disappointed! To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

See my previous review below titled, "STAY AWAY, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM". Be sure to watch out for Elias, the sales manager. I live less than a mile down the road and refused to make the trip to the dealer in Hartford, if I could have gone to another dealer I would have. I bought a new BMW and planned on putting 3500 down, financing the rest. My sales rep said they needed a total of 3500 down. They already had 1k down on a credit card, when I went in in with an addition deposit of 500 Elias thought I was taking delivery that day which was wrong. He told me to get insurance and to call him. I got insurance the next day, a Tuesday. He said to come in and we would make some kind of deal for the rest. When I went back in, he tried to push me into a lease, which I did not want. At no point did I EVER state I wanted a lease. This gets better...he told me I was going to put 2500 down instead but it would only show 1500 down and to give HIM the 1k difference in CASH. He said the dealer makes enough money and he needed it.. He will more than likely deny this but I would not make this up. He is VERY shady to say the least and thinks I'm stupid, he was never going to see that thousand cash. I ended up picking up the car the the following Monday with just 1500 down, him thinking I was actually coming back in to give him the money.. The finance contract shows 1500 down, I do not owe them a dime more. EVERYONE watch out for this dealer and Elias, the sales manager. I want to reiterate that I only bought from them because they are so close, a walk down the street. Second, I was not going to another dealer farther out. Be warned!!!

I would like to express the disappointment in this dealership. From the initial phone call to the experience of looking for a pre-owned vehicle, it was horrific. The manager felt that for over $40,000.00 it was acceptable to have burn marks on the passenger side and back seat area rug. When I brought my husband down to look at the vehicle , it had not been detailed and I was told it was. The manager was rude and I will not recommend this dealership and I have told many family and friends.

I purchased a certified used vehicle here. The delivery process was extremely rushed and I felt as though I was not a priority for the staff. Upon inspecting the vehicle at home, I noticed numerous cosmetic issues with the car. Many of these issues were serious in nature, one example being a hole in the molding around the rear seat and another a missing window control button. I returned the vehicle for repair within 48 hours and the dealer agreed to perform the repairs; however, no one apologized to me for the issues. I later reviewed the certification paperwork and noted that the dealer showed me a certification checklist with many of the issues checked off as not existing. Apparently, the vehicle was never inspected but the categories were checked off indicating that actual problems didn't exist. I tried to work with my salesman, who was very unhelpful and quickly washed his hands of the issue. I then worked with a customer service liaison who was nice but wasn't able to rectify the situation for me to my satisfaction. The dealer had my vehicle for a total of 5-weeks. BMW held up delivery of the parts to them, tying their hands in the dealer's defense. BMW corporate was extremely unhelpful with this problem, and at one point were rude to me.The only saving grace was the service manager who was very kind and understanding. I saw negative reviews about this dealer's service department on the Internet, but this is one area where I would rate them highly. All in all, after this experience I will not purchase a vehicle here again. After dealing with a rude customer service representative at BMW, I will not purchase another BMW again either. I would service vehicles here. The worst part about the entire thing is that no one apologized to me for selling me a car in this condition, except the service manager.

I would like to bring to your attention how impressed my wife and I are with the customer service we received 7 days ago. My wife and I have never experienced such service. Mostly all other of the dealerships we have dealt with keep us for over five hours, but with Girard BMW of New London, we were there for less than hour. I personally had a bad experience with a dealership in Branford whom had sold me a lemon Dodge Avenger, which when occurred I was recommended to Girard BMW of New London. Being that I am a very busy individual, my wife spoke to Stephen Indich, the BMW Service Manager. If it wasn't for his help and guidance, I would be dealing with unnecessary costly repairs with the dodge. Thanks to Stephen and the wonderful Caitlin Holden, our sales consultant, and the whole dealership, it felt like they just pushed a button and took all the worries away. Without them our lives would still be boring and glum, so thank you again Girard BMW of New London for changing our lives forever. If anybody needed to get the right deal exactly at the right time and wanted to ever do it worry free, I would highly recommend Girard BMW of New London for their dynamite customer service, progression, ease and integrity. These individuals and the dealership group is rated 10 stars. Thanks Guys.

I was going to trade in my 2013 M3 Coupe for a M235i Xdrive Coupe, Brian Fisher had called me the day before saying they were interested and got me to bring it in the following morning. Please see my other review about buying a M4 Coupe, I decided on a M235i for the time being.. In all honesty, the only reason I was going to buy from them is because they are so close, just a quarter mile down the road. I wanted to stay away... When I brought in my M3, Eli took a look at it, ran a carfax, took a test drive. Its in great condition, a few minor scratches, around 13k miles on it. I thought it was strange Brian was eager to get me in after seeming not interested in selling me a M235i before, I put it together and figure out why....Eli comes back, gives me the keys and just says not interested...They were upset I backed out of buying a M4 from them so they got me into the dealer so they could turn and say not interested in my trade, which is petty.. I didn't want to do business with them anyway so it worked out. Still, be aware of their pettyness and tactics. In general, STAY AWAY

I am visiting this dealer for the second time for service on my 2002 BMW in the past 2 years. I had a problem with engine light and had to replace coil and spark plugs on my trip back to New York. I was very satisfied with the service and William explained what needed to be repaired and it was done professionally and top notch. I liked the handouts and inspection details that were given out. I wish I could have done all the other services but it's just too expensive to do for me. The dealer is great to go to because you know they know their cars it's just the price quite honestly. Anyway good job. Would go to them again. Thanks.

Stephen continues to be a trusted service advisor with the customer interest in mind always. He and his team go above and beyond to take care of our service needs and ensure the car is in top shape always. And while service prices are not cheap, small extras are attended to without "a la carte" additions to the bill. We really appreciate the support and professionalism and highly recommend Stephen and the team.

Unfortunately had to bring my wifes BMW into have a wheel repaired.I'll admit I've been hitting curbs lately. The car had a couple of other issues. As usual I made the appointment directly with Stephen (service advisor). Upon arrival Stephen listened to our needs. When he pulled the loaner car around, he actually had the heated seats on for both my wife and me.He even had the heated sterring wheel on. While our car was there Stephen kept us informed about it's status. We picked up this awesome machine mid afternoon. Our car was washed ,vacuumed, and sitting right outside the service area. Stephen spend quite alot of time explaining everything that was done to our "5" series. Both my wife and I agree we will only service our BMW'S at BMW of New London due to the excellent service provided by Stephen.

Have had horrible experiences with the service department at this location. Began having problems with my belt and took it in to be serviced at BMW of Silver Spring on 07/11/12, belt was replaced. Continued to have the same problem and was replaced under warranty on 11/03/12. Continued to have the same problem and brought vehicle to be servied at BMW of New London on 05/15/13. I was told that they could not replace the belt and was charged for a new belt and tensioner. I continued to have the same problem again and brought vehicle in to be serviced at BMW-NL and was told that the belt and tensioner would be replaced "under warranty" on 11/21/13. I was also told that I would need to replace the catalytic converter and was charged for the labor to replace the belt and tensioner and was charged to order the parts to replace the catalytic converter, totalling $1,612.77. On 11/22/13, the SAME problem occurred and because of my busy schedule and the fact that BMW-NL has not, historically, had loaner cars available, I could not schedule my vehicle to be serviced until 11/27/13. The car was unsafe to drive and therefore had to find alternative means of transit. On 11/27/13, I was told that the belt loosened and would need to be replaced. Suddenly they had a loaner car for me and told me that the part would not be in until 12/3/13. I was also told that they "did not know why" I was continously having ongoing issues with my belt. I am not a mechanic, but it seems like they were just putting a bandaid on the problem instead of fixing the underlying problem.

I bought my BMW at this dealership and they have bent over backwards to fix any and all problems. They never try to sell me anything and explain my service to me. They let me decide what I want to have repaired and when. I have 220000 miles on my car and I am never giving it up. They also always come in under the estimates. Happy to recommend them to anyone.

Out of State and needed service due to a low tire pressure warning light. Calling the BMW Assistance number directed us to the nearest BMW Service Center in Old London, CT. After arriving at the Service Center, Steve in Service greeted us and promptly offered his assistance. He immediately took the BMW into the Maintenance area and investigated the cause for the low pressure. It turned out that it was not due to a puncture, but consistent low pressure in both front tires and explained it was due to the lower temperatures in the morning. He added air to both tires and then verified that the pressure remained consistent. Steve was very friendly and bid us farewell - no charge!Dave & Donna

DO NOT STOP IN NEW LONDON, CT. TO BUY A BMW, YOULL BE VERY SORRY, READ ON.The Girard BMW characters:Steve: ServiceLou: SalesEli: General ManagerJohn: Owner of Girard BMWFrank: the clientA few weeks ago I left Cape Cod in my 2004, X3 (128,000 miles) and had to stop because the engine was overheating. I called Steve in Service and left several messages with his co-workers asking for his advice. STEVE NEVER BOTHERED CALLING ME BACK EVEN THOUGH I HAD STRESSED MY SITUATION SITTING ON A HIGHWAY IN 85 DEGREE WEATHER.My car was finally towed to Girard and left there (Friday). The following morning I talked to Ron, also in Service (since fired) who told me that repairs on my X3 would cost $8500. I told him not to do anything. Now it becomes interesting. After I got the good news about my car I called Lou in Sales. I asked if he had any used X3 cars and he said he did. Lou: I have a 2011, X3 with 30,000 miles, white exterior, and a brand new engine. The engine has a warranty of 100,000 miles, the price is $29,000.Turned out that the previous owner had driven into a deep puddle and water was sucked up in the engine. Everything under the hood was then replaced with a new engine and new parts. I told Lou I would come in the next day. The following day Lou and I drove the car, it also had navigation, an additional bonus, and inside everything looked brand new; I was excited about owning this car and we walked to Lous office. Lou opened his computer.Lou: The car cost $33,000.Frank: Lou, yesterday the car was $29,000, what happened? Lou: This is what the computer says.Later, outside on the lot Lou introduced me to Eli, the General Manager. This came as a big surprise to me because I could have sworn the guy worked under cars, emptying oil pans. He had a stump of a cigar in his mouth and looked like a creature you wouldnt want to meet in a dark alley. I asked Eli to print out the cars history and what exactly was replaced after the flooding incident. ELI NEVER BOTHERED TO RETURN WITH THE PAPERS.The following morning I got a call from Lou.Lou: The car has only 50,00 miles warranty.Frank: Lou, on several occasions I questioned you about the 100,000 miles warranty and you assured me each time that it was an exception BMW makes for some cars.By now, you the reader, are probably thinking: THIS IS A CLASSIC CASE OF BAIT AND SWITCH. You are right, it was.BAIT: $29,000 and 100,000 miles warranty.SWITCH: $33,000 and 50,000 miles warranty. When I questioned Lou about the latest switch from 100,000 to 50,000:Lou: Thats what Eli told me.The next morning I called John, the owner of the dealership. I asked if he had time to listen to my story.John: I have a meeting in a few minutes and afterwards I play golf.I volunteered to call at a later time but he said you are already on the line. I explained the whole process from the car being towed to his garage, the repair quote, my dealings with Lou and Eli and how annoyed I was.John: I will speak later with Lou but as a business owner I have to make money on everything I sell. When Lou called the next day he basically gave me $500 off the $33,000. When I questioned him again about the original $29,000 and 100,000 miles warranty he was as evasive as he was before. NOW COMES THE GOOD NEWS.The following day I sold my old X3 privately and bought a beautiful Mercedes Benz SUV.Friends: I will NEVER set foot again on the premises of Girard BMW in New London, CT., you have been warned!

Be careful dealing with this dealership. We were going to purchase a car and put down a deposit and had to cancel the order do to personal issues. The car was resold right away and we could not get Eli to return our call regarding refunding some of our deposit. After numerous calls we decided to go a different route. All we wanted was the common courtesy of a return call. I would never recommend this dealership. Please be careful if this is any inclination of how they do business.

Brought my 528i in for its 1st maintenance, I was informed there was a factory recall on a part. Ok great, lets change the oil and replace the part at the same time. I booked my appointment only to find they did not provide loaner cars. After being forced to bum a ride to and from the dealership I was told they did not have the part on hand. They did not even bother to call and tell me my car was ready. Three days later I had to make another appointment wasting another day, still no loaner, still bumming rides. I had an email reminder for a service appointment I did not even make, I had to call the dealership 5 times in one day trying to figure out what this phantom appointment was. Each time I was informed the service rep was busy but he has your number and he will call you back. At 5 PM he went home without calling me back. The lady answering the phones stated " oh I was going to call you, you don't have an appointment tomorrow." Why no one could tell me this without going through 6 separate phone calls is beyond me. This level of incompetence is unacceptable.

On our way home from our Easter visit, an unavoidable huge pothole was hit on the NJTPK. Two runflat tires split, we made it to New London, where our summer home is, to get the tires changed at a well known local tire business. The key was missing from the trunk. Under advisement, we called Gerard BMW then proceeded to go the the lot. Gerard BMW could not take 5 minutes to loosen the two locking lug nuts so that we could have the tires changed and drive safely home. We were not asking them to squeeze us in to do the work even though it was an emergency. Mr. Zincowski in service, with a smile, stated "as I told you and your son when you called, that I can not do anything for you because we are too busy". I will make an appointment for you on Sat. (three days from now). I tried to speak to Gerard but he was no where to be found and would not return my calls. Due to my work schedule, we had no choice but to head out to MA, 98 additional miles to our home. This BMW dealer has no regard for thier customers (we leased a 6 series from them as well) nor do they have any concern for the health and well being of thier BMW drivers.

I came in to st up an appointment for servicing and was able to get my car in right then. Ron, my service adviser, was very helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. My car was serviced quickly and well and the price was very fair. I had forgotten to bring a coupon with me so Ron let me take my car, drive home and bring back to the coupon so that the discount could be applied to the cost of my service. It was a very pleasurable experience.

I always feel like the staff is friendly. I purchased a certified Pre Owned with 5 years on warranty. I always brough my car in for service and routine maintenance and never had an issue while under warranty. My warranty expired 3 months ago. I just brought the car in for an Oil Change, Brake Fluid change and the steering was making a noise. I was called to let me know that the seals were leaking a very small amout of oil and should be repaired soon. I feel that the service department hides issues that could be fixed under warranty until it expires and then they tell you about the issues. I feel that the service department is friendly; however, I would rate them poor in the ethics department. I would get a second opinion and even take your car to a ASE certified mechanic before your warranty expires so he can tell you what is wrong so BMW can cover the expense. Unsatisfied customer

The service department is extremely disappointing. It began with a scheduling error which ended up costing me most of my morning. Throughout the repair, I was constantly calling them for updates, vs. them giving updates to me. They ended up installing a part on my car that was completely unnecessary due to an 'error' made by one of the technicians. Then when I inquired about what actually went on, I was given a very poor and canned explanation about how complex electronically controlled car were. They ended up putting 74 unexplained miles on my car and returned it with less gasoline than when I dropped it off for an' Increased Battery Discharge' and 'Increased Emissions' fault. Moreover, all that was required for the 'Increased Battery Discharge' was a battery charge (which was not performed when I brought my car in the month prior for the same indication). As a customer of BMW I thought it to be a reasonable assumption that the quality of service would be commensurate with the product itself. My experiences at BMW of New London have shown otherwise. I have lost all trust and confidence in BMW of New London and unfortunately will be driving 40 miles one way to BMW of Warwick or Newport for competent service going forward.

Just moved into the area from Florida after 17 years, and this was the first time contacting this dealership or service department. Called on my day off explaining the problem with my 335i, and dropped the car off that same morning. Everyone was couteous and professional right from the beginning. Ron, in service dept, was very helful from start to finish in the whole service experience. Was given a ride back home at drop off in order to get to my second vehicle, and at pick-up my car was dropped off at my house. This was very appreciative since I am alone, new to the area, and not thrilled about taking a taxi back and forth. Everyone was kind, friendly, and professional from Ron, the runner (name unknown), down to the receptionist.Service was done in a day, and corrected the first time. Another minor issue was found and corrected as well upon my notification & approval. Car was cleaned and washed upon delivery. Couldn't ask for better service or Staff. Would definately do business again.Dr. D

I initially stopped in to service my car and ended up driving away in a 2013! I informed David how I was not in love with my car anymore and was wondering what car I'm eligible for that fits within my budget. David was extremely patient, very helpful and presented me with options. He made the trade-in a smooth transition on my end and I'm very thankful I was appointed David as my sales rep.

It took 4 calls to make a service appointment. They do not offer rental or loaner cars like the other BMW dealers in the area. My car has been back 4 times for the same problem and the check engine light has come back on again. Called them 3 more time to make an appointment and have not recieved a call back yet.

This was my second visit in a month for service work. Ron was awesome. On my first visit he reviewed all the work the car needed done and heped me through the urgency of each repair. He worked with me to prioritize so the costs were manageable for me. He also set the expectations for the second visit in terms of the time it would take. He set up a loaner car for me to use while my car was there so I wasn't inconvenienced at all.As always, Ron went above and beyond! And the car was cleaner than it was on the day I bought it!

I hope I have his name correct, but the gentleman who assisted me at the desk with a temporary substitute vehicle and service was extremely helpful and courteous. Mike has worked on my vehicle several times in the past and always does an excellent job and works promptly to do so. I also spoke with the salesman, Lou I think ( I left his card at work) and he was great. Very helpful and attentive. One of the reasons I would consider BMW for my next vehicle is the service I receive from the New London dealership.

Last week I took my BMW in for service at BMW of New London. I had called for an appointment and was given one for the time and day I had requested. When I showed up with the car, I was taken right in with no waiting. The paper work was made easy and they began working on the car right away. The servicing was done very quickly while I waited and I was allowed to use the conference room to work in while I waited. When the car was done, all work was explained and I was on my way with a minimum of down time. And they even washed the car for me!

When talking to Ann on the first call to the purchase and visit to the dealership she made you feel as if you were the most important customer she had. Ann did a great job in finding answers when she was not sure and didn't want to give me the wrong info. Then I had started talking to David Morgan and between his emails and phone conversations he too did a very find job with this sale. Also when we met David in person he worked very hard in taking care of us. Christin who I only had one or two phone conversations and finally met was very friendley and informative to our answers. In conclusion your sales staff did a very fine job and I would reccomend your dealership and who knows I may be back again for another car. Thank You Joseph & Kathy Darmofalski

I stopped by New London BMW yesterday August 13, 2012 to have them check out my head lights. Willi was very helpful and nice. I told him that I needed a loaner car to have work done and since it was only a headlight not to worry if it took a while to get me in. He said the first loaner was for the following Friday and I said fine. He then looked a bit longer and said not to worry that he could get me a loaner for tomorrow morning August 14, 2012. I reminded him it was very important that I be in and out with the loaner because I had an 8:00am patient. I arrived at BMW New London at 7:35am to drop off the car and pick up the loaner. Willi said he'd be right back with a key. It took 35 minute for him to return with a key to the loaner. I did not get in the loaner car until 8:10am already ten minute late for my 8:00am patient. As I pulled out of the driveway of New London BMW, an alarm was going off showing they gave me a car that had only enough gas to go 4 miles. Now I had to stop and get gas as well on my way to work. I ended up being very late for my first three patients and one patient had to leave costing me more than $2500.00. I am a dentist and the reason purchased a BMW and service with BMW is to get the highest quality service and customer care. This is unacceptable for a BMW dealer to have this kind of service.

BMW of New London:-Sales: Has a good sales department.-Service: Avoid BMW Service Department. Why? -Slow Customer Communications-Misorder parts-If they believe a part is on warranty, they'll order it and service it-even if it appears that the part may be ok.-The told me that the parts /service were under BMW Warranty. The car overheated which is typically a water pump. The BMW water pumps have cheap plastic impellers that break a lot. They also replaced the IDRive which was under my warranty. They said repeatly that I was lucky about my BMW warranty plan. I paid for the repairs on car pick up-had a small fee call the "BMW warranty deductible fee" for warranty repairs.-Several weeks later, Willy calls me about my negative customer review on the BMW survey.-Willy tells that that now one of the parts repaired weeks ago is not covered by BMW warranty and wants payment. I said that I approved repairs based on my understanding of the cost. But they insisted and started a campaign of telephone harrassment-we are going to call the police for theft of services. -I've esclated this conversation to my attorney since they have wasted a lot of my time and harrassed me on every call. -Note, after the initial sale, which was only in December 2011, they called me up for another payment for my car registration. I gave sent them payment-but then recalled that I had paid for licensing and registration on the day of my purchase. They did refund this payment to me. -I dont complain about consumer issues, but everyone should know about their business practices. I've bought two cars from BMW of New London. This is the last one.

Do not buy from them, they are scam artists, from the finance department to the body shop! Poor work, I purchased my car and was told it was a clean vehicle, 1 month later I found out the car was involved in a crash. The paint is now chipping, they would not do anything for me, they literally said" to bad, you had a chance to inspect it". The finance department is a joke, they were dishonest with me, not to mention the loaner they provided to me was a chevy station wagon with a broken strut, read other reviews, all the positive ones on here are probably done by the owner, BMW should take their CPO certification away, I have called and filed a claim, avoid this dealership at all costs!

I had a water pump fail. The service experience was fine the price was outrageous. $1,100 for a water pump!! When I told the service manager (Willie), that I thought the price was outrageous and I would likely be having my car serviced somewhere else in the future, his comments was something to the effect that if I had a quality car, I should expect to pay a premium. The inference being that if I was unhappy, I was cheap. I walked away feeling insulted. He did call a few days later saying the reason for the price was that the pump carried a lifetime warranty. I have worked on cars, owing a classic and understand the time and effort to do repair tasks. I also got a quote (after the fact) for $500 to do this job from a non-BMW service agency. I plan on using them in the future.

I brought our Escalade in to be detailed. I asked to inspect my vehicle prior to paying the cost. The vehicle actually looked stunning from a distance & up close! Initially, I specificly mentioned a few areas typically missed (by other detailing service providers) but most of all the area under the "rear window". It was acknowledged by the counter person AND it still was missed. I was asked if I wanted to bring my vehicle back & declined due to lack of available free time. Once I got home, I looked for the contents in my ashtray. I found my business cards tucked away in my center console, BUT all of my loose change & my business fuel receipts were missing & no where to be found. I called the service department & voiced my concern. I felt that this person din't take my concerns seriously. Nor have I heard from this department since. If someone needs the "loose change" that bad, keep it!!! But I need my fuel receipts as it's a business expense. Again, the person I spoke to seemed to have care less about my concerns.... I will never bring another vehicle to this dealership other than my BMW. This may change also....respectfully,a concerned customer

Service is excellent. The people at BMW are the greatest. This written part of the survey and the time it takes to complete it are the worse part of my experience, and I am tempted to just delete it when I see it in my eamil. The only reason I'm filling this out is to make sure Steve and Willie get good feedback. It takes a lot of time to come up with 25 words to say service and everyone at BMW is great. Get rid of this survey and I'll be completely happy with my experience. Thanks!

I was quoted a price for serverl jobs, Since the car is older and not worth much I only chose to fix one at a time. The job was quoted in the high $300 range plus tax. When they did the job the bill had doubled. I asked why I was mislead, Willie gave me some doubletalk that didn't make sense. I said I won't pay for it, he said they would take the part off and return the car. Later he said they couldn't because the car was delivered. I asked what that meant since I hadn't payed for or accepted the car. They later removed the part but charged me for diagnostics and shop "rags".The car runs as it did before the problem that made me bring it to the dealer surfaced. That basically means that the real problem was dirty electrical contacts. Had they been cleaned I would have had other work done. The result would be that I had more trust in the dealership and they would have made more money from legitimate work. The diagnostics is free at Auto Zone and was free when I brought my daughter's X-5 there 15 months ago. On that visit I made an appointment to get the heater fan fixed. I diagnosed the problem (which was confirmed by Steve) as a part associated with the heater fan.Their inventory management system said one part was in stock. When I brought the car in for the replacement (the paert is mounted on the heater fan under the dashboard) I saw the car on a lift in the air. I questioned this and they said it was a standard diagnostic exam (no charge). They hanede me a small bundle of pages with a list and pictures of parts needing work along with complete pricing for the work. Later they said they couldn't find the part and offered to make another appointment for the car. They said a local parts store could get the part and have it later that day. then they said it was not an authorized BMW part and would not be warranteed. I refused. Shortly after that they said it was stocked with a BMW part number and it would be warranteed. I refused again because I was annoyed that I had been there 3 hours for installation of a part they didn't know they didn't have. all I got was a list of over $300.00, worth of work that they would start that day.so that day the diagnostic check was free and on June 6 it cost over $100.00. Why would anyone trust this dealer?I have avoided bringing this BMW to the dealer because my experiences with my previous BMW were similar. I brought it there in 2007 for a check engine diagnosis, they said it needed something an Oxygen sensor (which they didn't have in stock) but would clear the alarm, cost over $300.00 (I paid it because Steve said they wouldn't charge labor for installing it). I brought the car back a week later for the installation, they charged over $400.00 including the labor they said they wouldn't charge before, this was the first lie they I caught them in. A year later they said the car needed a valve cover gasket and some ignition coils. I said ok (based on an assumption of similar work on another car), it cost over $1000.00. I was basically charged one man-day labor for this work, I thought that was unreasonable and decided to go elsewhere in the future. I had not been there for 4 years with either BMW.Unless they reimburse me for the overcharges I will not be there again.

Stephen was incredibly accomodating when I called to arrange some repair work on my X5. I was trying to arrange the work before moving house so it ended up being last minute. It was really critical for me to have a loaner car as I needed to run last minute errands before moving house the folowing day. When I initially called I spoke with Willie and he told me loaners ahd to be booked 2 weeks in advance and there were no loaners available, even when I said I would just get the work done in Massachusetts instead he just said OK. At this point I decided to leave it and call back and ask for Stephen as I guessed he woudl be more helpful. I was right- all the above scores are for Stephen, Willie would have got 2s.

Have a 2011 BMW 535I 16,000 milesI noticed that my driver front tire had a bubble on the wall of the tire. Stopped by to see if it was a BMW or Tire warranty. I purchased the 3 year, BMW Tire/Rim warranty, which provided complete coverage. The tire needed to be ordered, which took two days. I could not pick up the car until the third day, because my spouse could not provide a ride until then. When I went to pick the car up, I was told that I needed to pay sales taxs. I showed the pamphlet that the warranty covered everything including tax, but the sales person told me to take it up with the warranty company. But the tire got changed and paid $30 something for the tax.I was always under the impression, that if you needed work on your BMW, you would get a loaner, or picked up, or dropped off (basically taken care of.) This option was not offered or afforded to me. I will continue to use this BMW dealership until I move next summer.

Over the past year I have been to this dealer for service several times. Many of these visits have been for the same problem which never seems to be solved the first time. This last visit was the last straw and I will never be back to this dealership. Because the problem was the same as I was there for a month ago I was told by Steve that I would not be charged. But then I was handed a bill for $122. I was told I was not charged for parts but 'my guy can't work for free.' I blame myself for not asking more specifically which is why I paid it but I see this as a mere sales pitch by Steve who got another $100 from me. Well it will be the last service I will have done there. I will be purchasing a new car in the next 2 to 3 years and guess what - it will not be from BMW of New London.

I was called for an appointment for a recall; took a day off of work, got to the dealership only to be told by Willie that my parts were not in yet. This round, I dropped my car off at 1pm and had to call at 4:30 pm to find out if my car was finished yet. It was finished and waiting to be picked up. Why did I have to call to find out my vehicle was finished? It was only in there for an oil change! I love that the car was washed but now my coolant light is on??? I plan on buying another BMW in the future and DO NOT plan on coming here to purchase it! Inskip is where I will be going! What happened to being a cut above the rest? As much as I've seen my mother has gotten way better service from the Ford dealership.

I had an appointment for Tuesday morning at 0900. Service Engine Light Soon was on but everything showed OK on car computer. Waited on vehicle (2007, 328xi coupe) and finally it came out of service around 1300. I was told it needed all four O2 sensors (4 of them), out of the six BMW's I have I have never had any O2 sensors go bad, let alone four at one time. Pre-ordered all four at almost $1400, plus another four to five hundred for installation.Brought the car back to the dealer for O2 sensor appointment installation on Thursday at 0900 and was informed it would take about an hour and a half for the install. At about 1300, or more, the car was brought out of service, we paid the bill, over $1800 and proceeded on our way home (my son was with me). Half way home, 10 mins., my son, who was driving noticed the Service Engine Light Soon was on again (or still on). We contacted the dealer (very upset) and dropped off the car at 0830 Friday morning for another day of service. At around 1400 that afternoon we received a call stating the car was all set and that the problem was just a fuse caused by a chaffed wire. How do I know that this was not the problem all along. I also called another BMW service adviser friend of mine at another dealer and he said he had never in all his years of working for BMW ever heard of all four O2 sensors going on a BMW.I leave questioning if there was ever really a O2 sensor problem at all and if the chaffed wire and fuse weren't the problem all along. At this point in time I do not feel at all comfortable with returning to Girard BMW for service or purchase of any vehicle nor would I recommend them (just not a good trusting feeling). I still have four BMW and will probably be looking elsewhere for future service or repair, unless something is done to remedy this mistrust.

I was sitting firmly on the fence, since I own an Audi A4, as to whether I would buy a BMW X5, a BMW 3/5 series sedan or an Audi A6 3.0t sedan. On the first evening that I interacted with David, he did 2 things very effectively: he did not supply me with pointless info and stuck to relevant points about the value of the BMW 3, 5 & X series; and two, he came across as someone with integrity that wanted to make a sale but would rather have the customer make a well-informed choice on solid facts than paint an un-realistic story about the value & financing-options of a BMW. This is what made the experience positive and repeatable for me. And he proceeded to work hard on securing a fair deal on the sale of the car, ensuring that I was well-informed on updates to the deal and the reasoning behind some of the financial terms. In the end, the deal moved away from the original cost I wanted and moved back towards a higher cost, but David's integrity in the process and clear communication resulted in my final decision that the car was worth the investment and the deal being made was on good faith terms.

Came in for computer upgrade and safety check. I needed new tires so i agreed to pay for a front end alignment ( which I did pay for). The car still pulls to the left and the steering wheel will not remain level when traveling straight. I paid for it but don't believe I received it. I also pointed out for the service order that I had a buzzing speaker and squealing brakes. Both issues still exist after service.

I brought the car in for service on convertible top. I was quoted $500 for the job. BMW did the work but did not fix the problem. On top of that, they put a hole in the plastic back window and never admitted that they did it. After that, I was quoted $3100 fo fix the problem they created. After I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, the state of Connecticut complaint Dept. and the DMV, they agreed to refund me for the initial "repair". I have yet to see the money. And they never apologized for wrecking my window.

Steven is the service technician that I have dealt with several times before and has provided me with outstanding service. He is very knowledgable about my 2005 M3 and my 2008 X5. He always goes out of his way to provide me with the highest quality of service every time that I visit. The recent body work done on my M3 was excellent and was completed on time. He offers advice on how to ensure that I get the most satisfaction from owning a BMW. He has advised me in the past concerning the purchase of snow tires for my X5 as the tires that came with my car were low profile summer tires and not suitable for heavy snow conditions.

I have used your service department for many years. I have never been disappointed in the quality of your service department. However, I must advise you that the last thing a customer wants to see after having a radiator replaced and coolant system flushed is a message "check coolant level" when the vehicle is started. The car sat overnight in your lot and I am sure after the coolant fluid was allowed to cool down more fluid needed to be added. I only had to add a cup or two and everything has been fine since. Nothing that really concerns me. I understand the how and why of this small error. But then again, you know you have customers that would rip you a new one if it happened to them. Just a caution note. Thanks for all of your fine service,Dave Blais

I briought my car in as the tail lights were out. I was told there was a leak in the seal and they would order a new light and to bring it back Friday. Friday I brought the car in to be told to pick up at noon. I got a ride to dealership at noon to be told the light was not under warranty because I has Sirius radio installed and it had voided the warranty. Clearly the wire was in no way effecting the tail light as the lights were already out prior to the install. The customer service advisor tried his best to convince me it would cost me money but in the end agreed to relent and put on warranty. By the way the tail light never got ordered and I had to go back again that evening a s they told me they would take a light off a new car. Would I go back maybe they are the only BMW dealer in my vicinity.

this was my first service at the dealership. when buying the car i was assured that loaner cars were available for service appointments. i made the appointment a week ahead of time and was told "there are no loaners on friday." i dropped the car off, requesting delivery after the service - didn't happen. i asked for the driver-side seat belt retractor to be fixed - was told it would be a no charge item. at pick up i was charged $113 to untangle the belt. then i was asked if i would like the car washed. i would have expected the car to have been washed before i picked it up, and not to have to wait for a wash. i told the service manager that i found the service experience very disappointing. he responded (with a snippy attitude) that thousands of other bmw customers reported excellent service.the sales manager did find me as i was leaving and apologize. the service manager called later to apologize as well. neither should have been necessary.

Diagnosed as needing a thermostat and repaired, cleared code and out the door by 10 a.m. They also fixed a window switch that was not working with 1 touch up and a defective glove box lock on my CERTIFIED USED BMW all for the Deductible of $50 & Tax. I have just started bringing my car to BMW New London for service. My first visit was for a routine inspection service and I was very pleased with the service i received. Everyone was friendly, helpful and informative about what my car needed. I returned for service several days later due to a strange noise I was hearing. Without an appointment, I stopped by to have them take a listen to the car and they immediately took the car into the garage and quickly diagnosed the problem. Without hesitation, Willie and Steve secured a loaner car for the 5 days I needed transportation and worked with me on the price of the unforeseen repair. They made a difficult situation much more bearable. I look forward to a long term relationship with them in servicing my car. I would recommend them highly.

I was given wrong information by the sales person (an honest mistake) about the performance of the car. Unfortunately I did not figure out they had made a mistake until a day after I had purchased the car. I offered to pay them quite a bit of money to just take the car back and after three days of them not answering my calls or emails the GM and sales manager have the sales guy send a cryptic email saying "No". So then I ask for something/anything to compensate me for the added expenses I'm going to incur. Once again, my calls and emails are not answered for days and I finally get a cryptic email from the sales guy saying "No".So I finally just ask for a lousy second key. You can guess what happened next. This was by far the most infuriating customer service experience of my life. I have purchased or leased three other BMW's from other dealers in other parts of the country and have always had superior performance. Eli and the crew from Girard need some basic customer service training.

Hi,On Friday November 25 I broke down on I95 with my 2002 BMW 325i going home to new York. I was towed to the New London BMW dealer with my AAA membership. Stephen Pescatello was so nice and honest with me and made sure to finish and fix my car so I could get home that same day. Over the past couple of years I have stopped bringing my car to the dealer in Brooklyn (Life Quality) NY because of price and convenience of when I could bring the vehicle in for service. My experience with Stephen would make me want to bring my car back even though I am 150 miles away and possibly buy a new car from them very soon. Great job Stephen and all at BMW of New London.

I purchased a BMW in the fall of 2010. I initially walked in looking for a Rav4 something small and simple to get me through the NE winters. I did have a Lexus sports sedan RWD which is not suitable for the weather in this part of the country. I was shown a BMW X5---used, I happened to absolutely love it! This is where the romantic story ends. I had a salesman, Nico, which was very attentive to my needs and wishes for a car (he knew every card to play---great salesman if i must say so not to let any of the remaining comments shade your judgement of my experience.) I agreed to purchase the used X5---although the price was not necessarily what I wanted to pay in the end. This is also not a reason for my further coming negative comments. Nico was a salesman and he sold me. The purchasing department did their job and got the most money for their needs and even used the fancy payment screens to make it seem like you were getting a good deal while they were getting a better deal (this is the nature of the car sales industry and I respect it). The problems I have are that he promised me the car had certain functionality, including Bluetooth and an auto dimming mirror. While I should have paid more attention to the product specs, EVERYONE in the dealership thought it also had these functions. I was told to leave the car to get a few things fixed (which I did for a whole week) and they would fix the bluetooth (the system just needed to be reset by corporate, the mirror would be changed to autodimming, the lighter would work for power, and the board was cracked on the side of the gear shift panel. When I retrieved the car, I was given the keys and told to drive off...it however did not have a functional Bluetooth, they told me the system needed to be reset and no one was there to do it, they had to call BMW corporate. I said OK. Then no one contacted me back. I called again after having it in the shop for a week to remove paint on the door, and a cracked side panel, they then said that it was not possible for a blue tooth. This car has a heated steering wheel, GPS, all the buttons for bluetooth but somehow this particular one is not outfitted to have wireless technology, nor can it have a rear dimming mirror. German engineers are particular...this is totally possible. I took it to another dealer and had them look at it. They said for sure it can be doen but it may cost a little bit. The thing is, New london promised me all these features even after my salesman was let go for personal reasons. I was promised all the help in teh world. However when I went to talk to the people at this dealership, I was essentially accused as a liar and that how did they know the gentleman they fired promised me all of this? They looked at me as a child and a female. I absolutely 100% resent this dealership and their treatment. I have tried to contact BMW corporate and was told that this incident is sales related and to handle it with the GM. I contacted the dealership and the GM and since the purchase of my vehicle and all of the false promises, they have gone through a few sales managers, the GM whom promised me to get back to me (Eli) never did, I also received no response from corporate. While I am willing to chalk this up to a purchase gone bad,...this is a BMW dealership that has a certain reputation to uphold. They have failed on EVERY account. I had a loss of faith in the BMW brand to be quite honest because of my experience. I then took my car to the North Haven BMW dealership and have great experience with this dealership. They even helped my boyfriend with a serious service problem that lived in New London and he purchased a used vehicle from this dealership. Although we live an hour away from North Haven, we will never use New London for service or for car purchase. North HAven BMW saved me from switching back to Lexus. The end of this very long and detailed story which doesnt capture a whole year worth of frustration is: DO NOT PURCHASE FROM NEW LONDON BMW/TOYOTA. Girard, Antonino, Eli...they wont care about you, they only want money. And to be quite honest, I am dissappointed in BMW corporate for failing to respond to my inquiries for help in this situation.

In purchasing my first BMW, I would rate the purchase experience as very good. My Client Adviser, Al Duplice was customer focused, helpful and knowledgeable of the product he represented. Others within the dealership such as Mr. Girard were energetic and presented themselves as being proud of the BMW corporation they represented. As with any significant purchase, the overall rating will be reflected in the years to come by the support departments such vehicle maintenance, which I have invested in.

I took my car in for repairs. The convertible top did not go down. I was quoted $500 for the repair and I did not feel that what they thought was the problem was going to fix the issue. I specifically stated that I did not want to spend more than $500 on that repair, being an old car and all, and if they thought there were going to be additional expenses, not to do the repair. They assure me that this would fix it and gave me a written estimate. After spending a week in the sop, I got a call from BMW that the car was ready. I was just about to pay when I thought I should try it first. So we went to the car and the first thing I noticed was a puncture hole in the rear window (it is plastic). Of course, they told me that they did not do it but I know there was no hole when I took the car in. Next, we tried to lower the top and that did not work. You would have thought that they'd try it before calling me. Anyway, I have to wait another 3 days before I could talk to the manager, who told me they will see what more was needed and give me a call. He never called, so I did and was told that the car needed another $3100 to be fixed. That is strange because the whole roof can be bought online for $650. So, I told them that there was mo way I was going to pay that and we agreed that I pay for the parts they used and some labor, which was $317.So now I feel like I paid $317 for them to put a hole in my window and the top still does not go down. Although the staff is very peasant to talk to, my car is actually worse than before I took it in.I will not recommend that dealership.

Terrible! They damaged my ('06 330i) car when I brought it in for service and tried to deny it. At first they wouldn't even return phone calls and when I went in in person the general manger was "in a meeting". When I did get the general manager on the phone, it took a week, he acted like they did nothing wrong and could care less about what I was telling him. Ended up going to court and I won. The dead beats still refused to pay so I had to contact a state marshal to freeze their assets. When they realized their assets were about to be frozen they paid. Avoid the Antonino auto group!I have received excellent service from the dealer in Hartford and the dealer I bought the car from Zimbrook BMW in Wisconsin. I mention that so you all don't think I just like to beat up dealers. In fact the dealer in Wisconsin covered warrantee items over the phone from over a 1,000 miles away that BMW of New London wouldn't. I just sent them the bills from BMW of New London and they paid them, that's service!

It is because of the service staff that I return to BMW of New London. They are friendly, respectful, accomodating, and the mechanics are great at their craft. I was given a new 5 series vehicle as a courtesy loaner, which was quite impressive, I would have expected a used Toyota or 3 series BMW, not a new 5 series! I was able to purchase parts myself and the service department was kind enough to install them for me with just the labor cost. This was an exceptional service.I was without my car for 6 days, and there was no hassle from the dealership to get the loaner back for another client. I was free to use it for as long as my car was in service. For the most part, I've been very pleased with the service and attention I've received over the past 17 years I've been going to the dealership. Will most likely continue to purchase the BMW product because of the employees at the dealership.

Purchased a pre-owned BMW from this dealer. The car was delivered with NO gas and filthy. I was rushed out the door with dealer and it took the dealer over 2 weeks to locate and secure a valid title. They took the car back after 10 days to perform some repairs and clean the car. Even though the service manager read me off a list of things done when I got the car back only one was actually finished and the most important was ignored. Dishonesty is a comitted way of doing business of BMW of New London CT. In addition to all thet they held my BMW financial Corp. contract for 2 weeks without submitting it causing me more problems. I was interested in a car, so I put a deposit on that car. I scheduled an appointment with the salesman to bring my trade-it, the dealership was 80 miles one way from my house and I didn't want to bring it on the first day. On the day of the appointment I rent a trailer put the car on the back of it since it was not registered and uninsured. I get there and some other sales man tells me the guy went home earlier. I ended up driving all the way back. I call Monday they tell me they sold the car I put a deposit on to someone else. For the first 2 weeks all the dealer all the way up to the general manager don't reply to my phone calls nor emails. At last they try finding me another car that takes couple weeks and they end up finding a convertible, which was something I didn't want. I backed out out of the whole deal and I'm still waiting for my deposit money... This is by far the worst dealership I have ever worked with.
