Just recently purchased a certified 2014 Nissan Maxima. Love the car. Justin Quinn was the sales rep and did everything he could to make this trade a great experience for me. No pressure, listened to my offer, worked with his manager and made this a reality in a very short visit. I had some follow up work in the shop and they did everything they said they would do in a timely and professional manner. Scheduling my appointment was a breeze. We were originally interested in the 2015 Nissan Murano's but with help from Jamie (internet sales), she directed us to check out the 2014 Nissan in stock as they were excellent deals. She was right. She helped us set up an appointment Saturday morning, and Ernie Bell took over as salesman as Jamie was not there on Saturday. We weren't sure we were ready to trade, but the deal was well worth it and we were very happy with the outcome. We had a Murano several years ago and were extremely pleased with it because we did not not have a single issue with it. Hopefully this one will be just as good :-) Thank you to all who helped out with this sale, and the quick service. Unlike other dealerships where you spend hours making the deal, we were in and out quickly. A fair deal was given up front which eliminated too much haggling. Thanks again! Michelle Pezley

I have purchased over 25 vehicles in the last 20 years and can easily say that this has been one of the best buying experiences I have had. I needed a nice used vehicle for my kids to drive and am always leery of used car buying. My wife and I have purchased 2 cars at Carousel Nissan. Both times we have worked with Tony Vandersee, Bill Becker, and Sharif took care of our financing. They are all great to work with and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived at the dealership! We knew from the start that they were working to put us in the exact vehicle that we wanted. On both occassions, Bill took the time to walk us through all the features on the vehicle and wouldn't let us drive away until we felt comfortable with our new car. Usually taking care of the new car paperwork is something we dread. Sharif is very organized and had us in and out in a very short time with both of our vehicles. It is always a big plus when you do not have to spend the whole day at the dealership filling out papers! For us, Tony is the main reason we have and will continue to purchase our vehicles at Carousel Nissan. He has always been incredible from the beginning to end of the process and makes our satisfaction his highest priority. Long after the purchase, Tony continues to check in with us to make sure that we are still enjoying our new vehicle. I had been having trouble with my 2002 Chrysler Sebring belching coolant when it was turned off after driving for almost any distance. I had been told by a Dodge dealer and by an independent repair shop that the head gasket was blown and it would cost around $2000 to repair. The car just didn't act like the head gasket was blown and passed the Auto Zone exhaust gas test. I received a recommendation to see Ron at Carousel Nissan. He did a thorough analysis of the engine and cooling system as well as reviewing the on board computer system. He discovered a crack in the radiator. The radiator was replaced over 3 weeks ago. The car has performed perfectly ever since. It is good to find a knowledgeable and honest automobile mechanic. I will return here in the future for all my non-warranty automobile service.

After going to many dealerships in the area, Dave Moore and Carousel Nissan was the only place that treated me like a customer, and not just another sale. As a woman, sometimes I have felt in the past at other dealers that the salesmen were always trying to take advantage of me. Dave Moore was nothing like that, he listened to me and respected my time and found the perfect car for me, a Nissan Maxima. I got a good price for my trade-in, and the payments he worked out for me were right where I needed them to be for my budget. The Free maintenance plan for 1 year was also a nice bonus. Everyone from the finance department to the service manager I met were very nice and I felt very comfortable with everyone at this dealership. I highly advise anyone looking for a car go see Dave at Carousel Nissan !

I have seen the commercials for years, "#1 on Highway One", so I decided to check the place out. I stopped in to Carousel Nissan to look for a used Altima. They had a very good selection, and Dave Moore came out to help me. It was a great experience from start to finish. He did not try to just sell me a car, he actually asked me questions about what I wanted in my next car, and he found the perfect Altima for me! I visited Carousel Motors while purchasing a vehicle for my wife. Dave Moore was our sales person and he brought up the subject of my 10 year old Subaru. I said I was seriously thinking about getting a newer Subaru. Dave said he would keep an eye out for me. A couple of weeks later he called me to let me know that they had a 2010 Subaru Outback that was in good condition. I was able to trade in my old Subaru and get a very satisfactory deal. Dave Moore was most courteous and knowledgeable. He explained what would be needed to make my old Subaru saleable. During the whole process I felt comfortable and not being cajoled into into making a purchase. Dave is a great salesperson I would strongly recommend him.

My son & fiance had a car troubles while going thru the area which is 5 hours from home this past Saturday. Unfortunately they got to the dealership (after they called ahead and were told to come) at closing time. First of all I do not understand why they told them to come when they were closing soon. 2nd, they had some 18 year old kid look at the car. He said they couldn't fix it til Monday afternoon. My son & fiance were stuck there getting a hotel & rental car for the weekend. Monday came which means missed work & classes at a college across state. They did get a chance to look at the car on Monday a.m. and told them they'd need a $1000 worth of parts that wouldn't be there til Tuesday. Instead, my husband & the fiance's dad came across state in terrible weather conditions to trailer the car & pick up these 2 young 20 somethings who had been stranded all weekend. Took the car to Billion Sioux City and it was a FUSE! Talk about misdiagnoses! Praise God they made it across state in terrible weather but also for HONEST repairmanship at Billion's.

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a car dealer. I was treated like a stereotype. The dealer was obnoxious (somehow though, his wall was covered with "awards"), would not listen to what I wanted & kept trying to push me into things I didn't want. This was all the while he was complaining about other customers. He originally would not let me drive any car alone, and would not let me take a car for a drive longer than 10 minutes. He refused to give me a price. After 2 hours I left the dealer with my phone number and email, and he never contacted me again (except to send me junk email). After 2 days I went to Dave Wright Nissan in Cedar Rapids. I was treated like the most important person there, and bought a new car (their great service continues). I will never bother with Carousel again.

Jason, our salesman, was great!! He was very respectful. Being a woman somewhere in my 50's, I have been treated as if I was an idiot by some previous salesmen in the past. Needless to say they did not make the sale. LOL:) Jason was very knowledgeable about the vehicle I was looking at. He also, was very patience while I was trying to make the decision on whether or not to buy. I did buy a 2011 Nissan Juke which I absolutely LOVE. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! It is so fun to drive and looks different than most of the other crossover vehicles that are on the road. Thank you for making the whole experience pleasant.

I had a prior very good experience buying a Nissan Armada from Carousel and decided it was time to upgrade to a 2013. My sales and closing experience was smooth and professional. Jamie was great to work with and we came up with a deal that I felt was very reasonable in a matter of minutes. They prepped the car, we came back to close and the business manager was equally efficient and we were on the road literally in minutes. Jason provided great customer service, on the Altima test drive he reviewed every aspect of the car, answered every question and provided his contact number if we have any further questions. Our buying experience was quick and the car is wonderful. Altimas have superior safety features, are ultra comfortable and are comfortable to ride in. I was looking for a used late model Armada which are hard to find and finally found one at Carousel. I had worked with Jamie for a few days via e-mail getting some history on the vehicle and scheduling a time to come in for a test drive. At the dealership Erik Post helped me out - it was like working with someone you've known for years. The no-haggle, no-nonsense approach was great. I received a solid offer on my trade and we made a deal. Sharif handled the financing part, and just as easy and the purchase. It was nice to work with a finance person who wasn't trying to push extended warranties and every other add-on under the sun to you. In the end, it was worth the two hour drive - got a great deal, and had a great experience.

At first, things went well. Dave Moore is a nice, honest man I believe. It's the people he's working with that I'm not so sure about.. I wrote a check for Chad Scarrberry, financial guy, to hang onto until I received this money I was waiting for. They all knew I was skeptical & not sure if I should purchase the 1999 Nissan Altima until I had this money in hand. But they all assured me that the check wouldnt be cashed until I gave the ok. So, I wrote it. For 4 days I emailed & called him EVERYDAY letting him know what was going on with the money. He turned around and cashed the check when I had $30 to my name rite before my sons birthday. Left me -$2500.00. I was crying so hard I couldn't breathe. I left messages & emails for them all, haven't heard a thing. I'm shocked.. But always seem to end up this way. Just wanted to warn any others before dealing with this... Thanks

Dave Moore was personalble & knowledgeable. We went looking for a car to lease-Altima. Ended up buying a Maxima. Good selection of vehicles. We had no inkling to buy anything at Carousel. Was very surprised with the Armada. We were comparing it with another brand's van. The Armada is superior. Carousels' sales person we dealt with was a friendly, affable gentleman. Got treated very well. Not just someone to make a sale with. He helped us all the way through the process. When I went there, all of the dealer were standing there watching me but no one come to help until I ask. Second time I was trying to do a trade in for my 07 BMW, The dealer knows nothing about my car and just try to ruin my engine if I am not stop this idoit! They are not professional and nice. Bad Bad memory and I will never return.

On May 5, we went to Carousel Motors to look at a 2006 Mazda 3 that I found at autotrader.com. On Saturday, May 7, we returned to purchase it if we could work out a deal. We got a deal done with the salesman, and then went to Joshs (the Finance and Insurance manager) office. Ok, here I let my guard down when Josh told us the salesman had made a mistake, and the interest rate had to rise. He got me to sign for a different deal than wed made with the salesman. Anyway, we drove the car home.On Wednesday, May 11, while in Des Moines, Iowa on business, I called home to check in with my son. He told me that Carousel Motors called, then played the message for me. It was Josh, the F & I guy, asking me to return his call. I called him from Des Moines Thursday morning (May 12). He asked if we could do me a little favor (direct quote) and come back to Iowa City to sign some new paperwork. I told him the soonest that we could drive there was late Friday afternoon. At this point Im suspicious of the yo-yo financing scam. On Friday, May 13, we headed back to Carousel Motors after work. On the way down I called Josh, telling him that we might be late. This was a problem because he told us we needed to go directly to the University of Iowa Credit Union, who was doing the financing. They were expecting us to come in to sign new loan paperwork. Joshs response was that if we couldnt get there on time we would have to write a check for the purchase price of the car, because he had to get this deal closed and funded. I also told Josh that I was uncomfortable with signing new paperwork with the U of I Credit Union when I had already signed an installment purchase agreement with Carousel Motors. His reply was that once we signed the new paperwork that this document became null and void. At this point, not trusting anything that wasnt in writing, I asked if he was willing to write null and void on the installment purchase agreement and to sign off on it. Yes, he would do this. Next, I called the U of I Credit Union. They had never heard of us, didnt know anything about any paperwork, and that they never had Carousel Motors customers go directly to them to fill out loan paperwork.When we arrived at Carousel Motors, Josh had great news for us: He had called the U of I Credit Union, and they had someone fill out the paperwork and over to the dealership. (Note that I had talked to the credit union 5 minutes before this, and they didnt know who I was. I told Josh that I was amazed at this; when did they get it here? His response was Thirty seconds before you walked in. We went to Joshs office. First, we all signed off declaring the installment purchase agreement to be null and void. Next, he want to finish signing the title over to us. I said no, I want to look at the loan paperwork first. He promised us that once we signed this (a credit union loan application) that we were locked in to our interest rate. After looking through this for a bit I asked to talk in private with my wife. When Josh came back into the office, we informed him that we knew he was trying to scam us. I asked him how it was that the U of I Credit Union had delivered the documents for us to sign 30 seconds before we got there when they didnt know who we were? He responded that of course they didnt know us; we hadnt filled out the paperwork yet. (Rememberthis was the paperwork that the credit union had just delivered.) When we got up to leave, my wife asked for our down payment check back. Joshs response was That aint gonna happen! We told him that we had put a stop payment on that check this morning, just in case I was right and they were scamming us. At this point we left.I wrote out the long version of this so you can compare the facts to the email that Pat Lind, the general manager of Carousel Motors, sent my wife the next week. The following is a cut and paste of his entire email, typos and all:Tammy In thirty years of selling cars I have come across a few rotten apples but you and your husband take the prize. I knew something was wrong when you two avoided us for a week.Your bank told us you stopped payment on your down payment check on the 10th.Funny your husband continued to tell Josh every thing was fine you were just too busy to come in. I was ready to just write this episode off to experience until I got your nasty note.Please contact the BBB or anybody else you can think of because I am anxious to get all the details out.Check with your Lawyer and ask if stopping payment on titled property is a problem.Ask your Lawyer the legal description of "Conversion" . To think that people like you have anything to do with education is very concerning. Do not trust what the service department tells you. Took my two year old 2009 Nissan Murano with 27,000 miles on it in for an oil change, mentioned that I thought the breaks squealed more than normal and asked for them to look at it as the vehicle was under 36,000 miles. Received a phone call that my rear brake pads and 4 tires needed replacing. This surprised me since the vehicle was relatively new with low mileage. Was told cost would be $1300 for new tires and another $300 for rear brake pads. I immediately questioned this conclusion as brakes and tires have always lasted well beyond 27,000 miles on my previous vehicles. Despite my questions and objections, was told that it was not covered under the 36,000 mile warranty as it was normal wear and tear. I told them to do nothing and I would "think about it". Received an inspection sheet that said the brake pads were worn to less than 3 mm and the tread depth was 4/32". Contacted another Nissan dealership to see if this was typical for Murano's and they said no and offered to take a look at the vehicle because if it was true, they would contact Nissan corporation about the issue. Took the vehicle to a local brake shop that I personally know and trust for a second opinion. They looked at the brakes and tires and wanted to know why I had brought the vehicle in as the brakes and tires looked good. I showed them the inspection sheet and they then wanted to show me their findings. They actually removed the rear brake pad and brought it in to show me it along with a brand new brake pad. They measured both in front of me, showing me that mine measured at over 7mm. The tires also had more than sufficient tread depth and did not need replacing. Said it would be a waste of money to replace the brakes and tires as both had many miles left on them. Called Nissan Carousel manager to let him know of my findings. Was met with rudeness and was told their service department was "Nissan certified" and that the brake shop didn't know what they were doing (they're a reputable company that has been in business for over 30 years and I personally know the employees). Told him that another dealership said this was not normal for a Murano, was informed they were just trying to get our business. My reply was that was better than his actions as he just lost our business. Nissan Carousel does not have an honest service department and fabricated repairs that were not necessary. When presented with this information, although they were given the opportunity to make amends, gave no logical explanation for the error and became defensive and rude. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AS THEY ARE DISHONEST AND CANNOT BE TRUSTED!

I had been looking at what Nissan had to offer for products for the last coupleof years. I decided that I wanted to take a closer look and possibly a test drive in a Nissan Versa. It is a Highway institutes top pick and consumer report lists it as the #1 choice for sub-compact. Needless to say I had done my homework. I called the dealerships in my area. Carousel Nissan (Nissan of Iowa City) Jim Miller Nissan, Kruse Warthan Nissan, and Lujacks.I live in the quad cities. I contacted Lujacks first and they toldme I would needto come in to know what they had in inventory. So I didn't call them again. Then I decided to email the other 3 dealerships. Kruse Warthan sent me a generic email that once again answered none of my questions and just asked when I could come in. Needless to say they were gone.(which after looking through this site I'm surprised they have any customers left) Jim Miller didn't contact me until the following day. So I waited to see what they had to say, assuming they couldnt be worse than the previous 2 dealers.This when I actually got someone who knew how to handle a customer and knew something about the product. Brian McConnell sent me an email with a list of all the Versas he had in stock,as well as the available incentives. And the best part was that I heard back with all of those answers in just under an hour. He said he realized I was from outside the area and if I had one of the versas I had more interest in, he would be happy to send me a video of it. I gave hime the car I liked a 1.8S with the power package. He shot the video and sent it back with,the sale price and my payment using the rebate or the 1.9%. In my mind I knew this was the dealer I wanted to do business with.He also told me they do free pick up and delivery for service. Even the free oil changes they give you. I made an appointment to drive the car. When I arrived Brian was just finishing with a customer so I had a seat in the waiting room. After abour 5 minutes the sales manager named Paul Trovas came out an apologized for the wait. He said he would be happy to take me to the car and show me around while we waited for Brian. He was great to talk to and when Brian came back he gave me his card with his cell phone number on it.I don't think to many car people would do that!Brian and I took the car for a long drive and I got back and decided with the right car,the right employees, it was the right atmosphere to purchase my new car. I met with Chad the business manager and he setup the cheapest financialpackage he could find.(Even beat my local bank) I love my new car and loved the expirence even more!If you are in the market for a Nissan, save yourself the time and the headache and just contact Carousel Nissan first.
