We recently purchased our first vehicle a vehicle from Carville's Auto Mart on Hwy 6 and 50. We worked with Elizabeth. She treated us with respect as we shopped. She let us take our time, ask lots of questions and gave us excellent information. She really worked hard to find us a vehicle that we would be pleased with. We left feeling like we were treated very well and we are excited about our new vehicle. They also gave us a carfax report and offered a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty on our new vehicle. The warranty made us feel secure as we purchased a used vehicle. I would recommend Elizabeth at Carville's to anyone who was shopping for a 'new' used vehicle.

My boyfriend and I bought a vehicle from here. Worst mistake ever. In the 2 months we have had the vehicle we have had so many mechanical problems. We have brought it in twice to have the same issue fixed (which was never done correctly and resulted in us having an un drive able vehicle now), we have called and attempted to talk go them over 20 times. Getting in touch with the service department is impossible, they never answer their phone. We have just gone down to the mechanic multiple times and he refuses to help without an appointment- although they only do appointments on two days of the week. This is our only vehicle for the two of us and a one and half year old little boy. Now we are out of a vehicle because the belt is about to snap and makes loud noises and a burning smell and noone there will answer any of their phones. We have had nothing but a horrible time with this place. It started off so good Rose & Tory were so nice. But we got sold a vehicle that was not mechanically up to par and it has been a headache trying to get all the issues fixed. Not to mention going in multiple times for the same issue? I should've never went to this place.

Carville completely screwed my husband and I over. I purchased my vehicle from them back in October 2015. The PT Cruiser (Loser) that I bought from them worked just fine for the first couple of months that I owned the car and then BAM! My car started having problems and overheating. We had to get a rental car so that we could go out of town in February and celebrate our 15th Wedding Anniversary because we couldn't take the car that we had just bought from Carville. The first time I took my car in they said that I had a bad radiator and fixed it. Two days later my car overheated again so I had to schedule another appointment to have it fixed. It took them forever to get me in again and I had almost hit my limit on miles for my warranty. They said that it was a bad radiator hose and now my car was fixed. A couple of weeks later my car started to smoke when I started it and every time that I accelerated. I called them again and they sent me to a different shop to have my car diagnosed. They had my car for a week and didn't care that I had to find a ride to and from work every day. The place I took it to said that it was a bad turbo, and the warranty that was purchased on the car specifically excluded the turbo, but I would be okay to drive my car. They said that it would be a little messy, would have to fill my car with oil all the time because the turbo is oil cooled, and I would be a little smoky. I tried to call the service manager for a week and never received a return call. At this point my miles are up on my warranty, but I still have to drive my car because I don't have any other way to get to work. I felt defeated and wanted to give up. I called again and still no one calls me back. After a few more weeks go by and my car is getting worse I called the service center again. Their manager tells me that she can work some kind of deal out with me and to bring it in a couple of days. When my husband goes to drop the car off they act like they have no idea why he is there and treats him terribly. I had to call and talk to the service manager again and she tells me that they are going to diagnose the car for the fourth time. She tells me that my turbo was not bad and that I had a leaky gasket valve. She tells me again that they have fixed my car and that it has stopped smoking. She also mentions that they will need to put a hose on my car the following week to complete the services. She even told me that I should be able to use my car without a problem. Now I have a car that will not run! I can't even take it to the shop, we can't get to and from work. I tried calling the service center again, NO RESPONSE, tried calling a manager at Carville, NO RESPONSE, I tried talking to the person that sold me the car. She tells me that she needs to get authorization from her manager to trade my crappy car for possibly another crappy car and that she will call me back, but once again NO RESPONSE. I called again the next morning and talked to an office manager at Carville. She tells me that she is going to have her general manager call back when he gets in at 10:00 am. Well, I got the same response as every other time, which was NOTHING! I would never recommend them to anyone. What a terrible experience followed by terrible customer service. If you are thinking of buying a car from them, erase that thought and run in the opposite direction!

Except for the terrible experience that I just had that I will make sure to add to that page and a few other by the end of the evening. Last week I called in on a car that wasn't even there yet (it was on its way in a truck) The gentleman that answered the phone when I called took my info and said he would call me the second it gets detailed and ran through an inspection. So I've been checking on it over the passed week to see when it was done. And this morning I drove by and saw it on the Lot finally, but I didn't get a call from anyone.So I called and explained my situation and somebody put me on hold to find the person that said they would do this for me. After 17 minutes of being on hold I decided to hang up and call again because I'm pretty sure you forgot about me. So I called again and explained my situation, AGAIN, and was transferred to a nice lady named Rose that apologized for what had happened and scheduled me for 5:00pm today.So I drive from Fruita very excited to test drive a car that I'm really wanting to purchase and when I show I see it out front ready for a test drive (like she said it would be) and I go inside and ask for Rose, but it turns out she's not there, so a salesman (I believe his name is Bob) takes my ID and takes me out to the car, he seemed confused so he went inside and comes back out to tell me that the car sold... The car that I had an appointment to come test drive and had a separate salesman "calling me the second it hits the lot." I knew you guys had a bad reputation but I decided to put that behind me because you had the car I wanted to buy and then you treat me like that and waste an hour of my time and energy, not to mention get me pretty excited. You all should really work on your customer service and keep your ducks in a row because it seems like a giant mess. That being said, I will never come back and I will make sure to tell everyone I possibly can about my experience so they too won't waste time and energy just for a slap in the face like that.

I have worked with Jarod twice now and I will only go to him when buying a car....Jarod is patient and understanding.... He figures out what you can get into first before u look at cars so you don't waste time or find a car that is out of your range....he will do anything possible to get you in the car you want but isn't pushy about it...he genuinely makes you feel like he is there for you and your family and not his commission... In 2013, we bought a 2003 Ford Windstar from Carvilles. It was an accident 2 years afterwards, so we took it in to see what our options were. Bob greeted us just as soon as we stepped out of the car. I mentioned I was doubtful on what he could do for us, but told him we were upside down in a car purchased at the same dealership. Even after a 5 hour wait, Bob got us in to a 2008 Honda Odyssey. They worked with us to fit our family needs on several different factors and that is hard to find! We are so grateful and we will continue to buy from Carvilles in the future. Thank you, Bob!

After our car caught fire, we needed a vehicle quick. With poor credit and not alot to put down we were able to get financed and found a great car. Only problem we had with the process was the gentlman helping us at time to sign papers would have us sign 1 paper then would walk off to talk to other people for 5-10mins. With 2 toddlers it was a very long process it took almost 5hrs to teat drive 1 car and do paperwork even with calling the day before to fill out paperwork to prequalify us before we drove the hour to the dealership.

Sales team is/was great. Customer service and the GM Matt, not so spectacular. I recently purchased a vehicle, and after taking it to their mechanics several times they were unable to diagnose the issue. The truck was not serviced before leaving the lot. Long story short, when bring this to the GM's attention he basically didnt care said it was my problem now. I didnt even make 1 payment and it was stalling out on the road 2 days after driving it off the lot. Buyer beware have it checked by your own mechanic before signing anything! *side note to Carvilles, I was recently asked by my employer where I had purchased my truck cause they were seeking to buy and pay cash for two trucks for our employees to drive to the job sites, after I shared with them the horrible service and the way I was spoken to from the GM they spent 20k on two other trucks from your competitors*

Car buying is never easy as a single woman but no matter what the circumstance it was horribly disheartening to have to call more than a half dozen times and either your salesman is off or the following day you finance manager is off and you continue to call and "work on a deal ". To finally get financing approved to be told oh sorry we sold the car . So much for my loyalty as a customer not to have gone to the next lot on the next corner when neither salesman nor managers kept their word as businessmen .. Somehow I don't put a lot of faith that they will continue to work on the deal looking for another car for me . If they didn't want my business I wish they had the integrity to have said so .. Buyers beware. ~disappointed

Went to Carvilles simply looking at what was out on the market. I spoke with Trinity initially and she was super helpful. I told her that I wasnt quite sure of what I was looking for and that I wasnt going to buy the same day. Even after telling her that, she was super helpful and let me test drive a few vehicles. Once I found one that I really liked, I was curious if I could qualify for that vehicle in particular. She led me through the process of being able to see if financing could be arranged. Next thing I know, I'm buying my dream vehicle literally $2,000 less than either book value with only $500 down and a payment $30 less than I had budgeted for. A few days later, I received a letter from Trinity thanking me for the business and inviting me to their annual anniversary celebration. I attended with my parents and that day, they purchased one too. We have nothing but great things to say and will always shop with Carvilles! Thanks guys!

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM Carville's. You will regret it. Quite a few items needed to be fixed after we bought our car. The salesman we had, Larry, did not care about anything except for selling us a vehicle. He apparently has been a salesman at Carville's for quite some time. Maybe the reason why is because you are pushed into purchasing/signing papers as quickly as possible when you agree to buy a vehicle. We were rushed into making the deal and did not get a chance to thoroughly look over the vehicle because it was getting late and the dealership was getting ready to close.. Larry wanted to leave asap and so did the finance associate Adam. The maintenance shop at Carville's CUTS as many corners as they can to repair the items that we did point out to them to fix. After just a few days, a couple new items we noticed were brought to their attention that were legitimately in need of repair before we bought our vehicle; we are being told that they will not cover the repair costs for these items because they were not noted on the repair agreement paper at the time of the sale. In my opinion, Carville's is the MOST shady and conniving dealership on the Western Slope. Even though they have a large inventory, do yourselves a favor and go to any other dealer to get a vehicle.

On February 21 of this year, I drove with my 5 month old baby at 11 am in the morning, to Carvilles Auto Mart. After spending 7 hours trying to find the perfect vehicle,we decided on a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica.A very nice newer car, that we weren't expecting to have any problems with for a long time.Well, in August, I finally took it into Firestone to check out why the ABS light kept coming on,that and my husband noticed my tires were balled which is something I would have payed no mind to had he not pointed it out. In the process of letting us know what the ABS was coming on for, the mechanic proceeded to tell us we needed 4 new tires(already?) and an alignment... That is what they thought until they lifted the car up on the lift and discovered, we had a broken sub frame... According to the mechanics, in their opinion and from their experience, they believed the frame had been this way long before we bought the car. It was very rusted and almost looked like it hd been in some sort of accident. .In order to fix this, as well as all 4 tires which had become bald due to the frame issue, we would have to pay close to $3000. Seeing as how we knew we absolutely didn't do this, we'd had the car barely 6 months, and I drive as far as church and the grocery store,(very cautiously since my baby boy is in the car with me), the mechanic suggested we take it back to carvilles right away and confront them. Well, we immediately went the next day to the GM(OWNER SON), who when we brought it to his attention,immediately grew defensive, quoting all the "wonderful reasons" they have a "great reputation", (Although since then, whenever I seem to mention CARVILLES around town , everyone cringes), and telling me the car had to pass "countless inspections" before sold. Which seemed strange, because they sold us this car, in this condition. He then sent us to the other store to deal with the service manager (He seemed to have an attitude that this issue was beneath him) . The manager, was very kind for the most part, took the car up on a lift in one of their shops, and after taking pictures of the damages,even stated "wow, you either hit a really really big rock, or went off a cliff!". Our point exactly. He then said he would get an auction report, and see if anything about the frame was mentioned on it. He was to get back to us within a day, and 4 days later, after me calling 3 times, he returned my call. Apparently, there was nothing on the report about the frame in bad condition and everything checked out. "ON PAPER". In his words "Im not saying I don't believe you, but if the report had said something about the frame, we would of had them take it back, but since it doesn't..." You get it.( Now the responsibility lies on THEM to take it back, which they just couldn't do of course!)They offered to find the parts cheaper( which we still had to pay for) and do the labor for free.WHICH, according to them, was a generous act of courtesy that they DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO DO. Stated in a fashion that indicated I should for some reason get on my knees, kiss their feet n worship Carvills for their "OH SO GREAT KINDNESS!!"We were prepared to do this, as it was our only option, when my Grandfather who has been a mechanic for 44 years,(also lives in FL so he couldn't help out) told us ABSOLUTLY NOT TO! Nothing in this world is free, so the fact that they offered labor, is because they know they did this.Circumstances led us to meet a bank lawyer, who when heard the story, told us to pursue this all the way. In her words," YOU TRUSTED THEM TO SELL YOU A GOOD SAFE CAR FOR YOUR FAMILY AND 6 MONTH OLD BABY, THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF YOU, AND SO NOW YOU ARE GOING TO TRUST THEM TO FIX IT?? God forbid You had got in an accident n that baby got hurt, they would now be in your position, trying to prove they DIDNT do this!"She gave us the number of her personal mechanic who when she called and explained the situation, said he'd take a look at our car the next day for free.I dropped the car off the next morning and returned to pick it up around 4.The first thing he did, was admit that when he offered to check the car out, he had intentions to find out what WE had hit, but when he got under the car, he was actually shocked... He went on for about 30 min. telling us the car was absolutely in some sort of accident.He explained that my airbags had either been replaced, or weren't even in there because the car hit something so hard, they they would have went off. He explained that despite all the babble about inspections, car auctions are like cows going to the slaughter and something like frame damage, underneath the car, could very well be missed. Despite Carvilles boasts of such thorough inspections,He then deemed the car unsafe to drive.(mind you, he had no intention of getting money out of us, as he thought we were getting it fixed at firestone). One thing led to another, and I found the number of the DOR Auto criminal investigator. Although he seemed confident that Carvilles might have did this, he warned us right away, that HIS problem would be PROVING IT. He needed some sort of paper trail..Well after a month of waiting, we received the call that on paper EVERYTHING checked out which made the investigator now useless. He discovered our car had previously been a rental car, during which it could have very well been in a small accident, but once again, the "auction report" said nothing about the damaged frame.So even though he agreed, that it looked like the car had been dropped off a lift, HE COULDNT PROVE IT. He told us we could still take them to court, something I fear would take so much work, and money,only to be shut down by carvilles again. We eventually took the car to Superior Body Shop, and asked if they might be able to just shift the frame, so the tires would at least be even, and we'd worry about the dent and crack welding later... but after examining it, they said they couldnt even shift it to the left because the frame was actually jammed up towards the front. Once again, we were told we'd have to replace the frame, which they quoted us as $1500. We had just taken out an $800 credit card from Big-O-Tires,because they absolutely had to be replaced, and to even think of somehow taking a loan for $1500 more, is just unreal... Once again, I had to try something else. So I posted on facebook, asking if anyone knew a mechanic personally that might help us out. We were eventually connected to the owner of a shop, who just started attending our church. After speaking with him about the situation, he said that he'd actually worked for Carvilles for 9 yrs, and still did a lot of business with them frequently, so he might be able to talk to them... We brought our car into his shop, only to be told by his mechanic, that our steering wheel had been replaced, the paint on the front right side had been redone, the skid plate underneath was brand new, and our airbags had been replaced also. Again, this is simply based on their experience, but to be told the same thing over and over? I asked him one more time "could I have done this?", hoping to get a "possibly",b/c then it'd be easier to suck up,but again I was told absolutely not. However the Owner once again reminded me, that because there was nothing on paper, and I did buy a "used" car,trying to get anything from these guys would be hard. He got back to us after about a week, and told us that he spoke with the manager at Carvilles, for quite some time, but apparently, they were upset that I had had the situation investigated in the first place, and did not want to help me out AT ALL. So once again, I was quoted about $1400, to replace this thing.... You always think it wouldnt happen to you, but if you ask around enough, it seems to be more of a frequent problem around town with this dealership. I believe, people just get shut down by Carvilles, feel defeated and dont end up pursuing it because of how much work it can be.... I know that the idea of taking them to court,for me, is too much work, especially having a little one.THIS IS CARVILLES MOTTO:"Carvilles Auto Mart in Grand Junction, CO treats the needs of each individual customer with paramount concern. We know that you have high expectations, and as a car dealer we enjoy the challenge of meeting and exceeding those standards each and every time. Allow us to demonstrate our commitment to excellence!" Yet when it came down to it, and we approached them about something that they did wrong, they insisted we must have "let someone borrow our car"...They did not GO THE EXTRA mile, or even one mile, for their customer. Essentially, what they did was call us liars, and send us on our way. A business with so much money, yet they don't take into count how hard a customer works for their own money.They could have fixed our problem, admitted that the all perfect dealership they are, could have made a mistake, and it would have been cheap change to the business. Had that happened, we would have continued to buy cars from them in the future! However that wasn't the case.GREATER SELECTION AT THE EXPENSE OF SAFETY AND HONESTY IS NOT WORTH IT.
