I am a truck girl but I was not able to get a truck and this escape was offered. I am very grateful. Perfect first mom mobile. Great on gas. Plenty of space all the way around. The additional protection plans I got with it are fantastic. When I go to trade in for a new bronco ... I'll go back to Cloninger.

I had my faded Ford logo replaced on my 2006 pickup. They were most kind and efficient. May be a minor event, but it meant a lot to me as this is my late husband's vehicle. Their compassion and time spent to do this small task was so much appreciated.

I went in for the works (oil change/tire rotation/12 million point check) because it's the best value for oil change and tire rotation, and I utilize Ford service to accurately maintain service records for my extended warranty. Firstly, every time I go there it takes a minimum of 4 hours for this service, and most times longer for their "quick lane" service. Secondly, they always try and up-sale me on my service with insane pricing; ie: in-cabin filter for $99.00 (normally $10), wiper blades for $60+ (normally $35-40), brakes for $400.00 plus (not bad but still high), lower control arm for $800.00 plus ($120 part). I'm not saying these didn't need service, or weren't close to service time, but this pricing is crazy. Additionally, while I'm waiting all this time, I notice they are able to up-sale multiple unknowing individuals, mostly women and older individuals. I believe it is just bad business to take advantage of individuals who are unaware of their vehicles operation. UPDATE*** After a follow up discussion with management, I was told that these service prices were book prices, and non negotiable. Specifically we discussed the lower control arm that pays a book time of 2 hours, period, and this was a service that I performed in my garage with basic tools in 30 minutes. We also discussed that during "the works" special the labor is payed to check all filters. If they are able to up-sale anyone, they then charge again for the labor to replace the filter, in turn, double charging for labor. Management also stated that this is also a non-negotiable rate. Lastly, and I think most disappointingly, I wasn't offered any sort of reconciliation. No coupon, discount, slightly reduced charge, stick of gum, wink and a wave, nothing. I will take my service to another ford dealership.

Salesman said sorry I did not know they did that. Right! Walked out and will not buy anything from a dealer not respecting customer wishes!

My fiance and I walked in thinking we we're going to receive service, but no one acknowledged us. A few guys were goofing off throwing a blue ball around like four year olds, two men passed us without acknowledging us, and the rest of the salesmen were just sitting there looking like we were invisible??? I do not highly recommend this place.

It was very good experience. the service check the alinement, witch was NOT ask to done. then tried to more work that was not requested. Eric likes to send 4 paragraph condescending emails when he sells a car for more than your offer. He was insulting when I was trying to work a deal on a used car, so I bought new from a different dealer. Some may have had a good experience with this guy, but I took my business elsewhere.2 stars because he did send me a video of the car. Minus 3 stars because of statement above and he answered my call while in the bathroom. Not cool.

The salesperson that we dealt with, had a smug better than everyone attitude. After we did not like his offer, he was very rude. We knew that we had awesome credit, but he continued to want to use a 4 and 5 point interest. When we didn't like the payment, he became very irritated. If he would have listened to us and checked out credit score, he would have had a much better interest rate and payment. Went to another top reviewed ford place about 40 minutes away the following evening and was treated with friendliness and respect. Had our vehicle and our payment less than we asked, the very same evening.

Bought a 2016 GT350 from this dealership. Picked up their allocation of the car and was asked if I wanted to change anything about the allocation; I thought that was very nice of them. Of course the wait time for the car was not on the dealership, but the factory producing the car; however, James Crawford and Rodney Sailors were always there to answer my pesky and somewhat often questions about the status of the car. Car was prepped exactly how I wanted it with zero complaints there. The buying process was straight forward with little to no hang ups. Great people at Cloninger and I am overjoyed with the GT350.

I had been looking for a certain vehicle on line when I ran across one that fit my needs. I called ahead and made an appoint to check out the vehicle. When I arrived for my appointment I was introduced to the sales person who was going to take care of me and the vehicle was ready for my review. The sales person explained all the feature of the vehicle and we went for a test drive. All my questions were answered by the knowledgeable sales person. Now it was time to talk pricing, trade in, financing and warranties. The warranty on the vehicle was very good, but I was not satisfied with initial trade in value, financing or the pricing, however in a short time we had all the details worked out to our satisfaction.

I bought a 16 Ford Fusion which my wife loves, only advice is to make sure the salesman knows all the warranty info. He told me I got a 7 year 100,000 mile warranty and I only get 5year 60,000 mile warranty. It caught me off guard that the salesman didn't know that and I found out at the end of my paper work. Also Justin my salesman didn't even try to sell me the car on the test drive, he simply turned the radio up a little and laid back. Kind of strange test drive. After I bought the car no one took time to show me anything about the car because they was wanting to leave. Thank god for google and the manual.

Cloninger Ford Express Lane serviced my 2015 Ford Escape on Nov. 13th at a scheduled appointment I made. An overall inspection was done, oil changed, and a recommended recall was done. The service tech suggested an alignment due to a slight out of alignment. That was also done. I was pleased with the work. I asked about coupons for future appointments as I have not received any since purchasing my vehicle new on Dec. 7th, 2014. I hope to receive some coupons in the future. I will definitely recommend Clonginger Ford to friends and family. So far, I have enjoyed having and driving my Ford escape!

My daughters bought my car in Kannapolis as a surprise. I wondered where I was going to establish a local dealer for service, etc. I was notified that my car needed a few safety recalls & called Cloninger. Since I bought my car back in Janurary of 2014, I have had nothing but great service from Cloninger Ford of Hickory. I bought a new 2014 Focus and I love the car. I had to take it in to get my clutch repaired and right away Cloninger had me a Rental car. Then I went back to get my remote start put on my car and since the guy wasn't available at that time, I was given a service car. Today, I had to get a small scuff out of the back of my car that happened when it was there and they were fixing it as soon as I said I had time. The great customer service I received was the best. I've never been to a dealership that would treat you like this. Cloningers manager Bobby had them pick up my car, while I was at work and brought it back in what seemed like no time. Not only did they bring it back to me where I couldn't even tell where the scruff had been but it was washed. Now that's Customer Service. I would gladly recommend Cloninger to everyone and I will definitely be purchasing my next new vehicle from them.

In the past, I have had positive experiences with your dealership. This past experience on the day of the service was no exception. I had a service and tire rotation. Two days following my visit, the low tire pressure warning light came on while I was driving my car. I found this to be disturbing since two days prior I had paid to have my tires rotated. I assumed that during a tire rotation, the air pressures was checked in all four tires. Obviously, I was wrong. I had to inflate the tires with at least 7 lbs of air per tire, read my owners manual to determine how the warning system resets, etc. I am glad to know how the tire low pressure warning system reset, BUT I should not have had to find out in this manner. I suppose, the next time I have a tire rotation, I will have to specifically request the air pressures be checked in all four tires. I would suppose, the technician who did the work on my car could be determined. I think at the very least he should be made aware of this lack of service.

We were having problems when driving the car...it seemed as if the brake was on and it was difficult to keep going. We stopped by to have it checked out, found out about a recall on the clutch, and they began to work on the car right away. The staff gave us a ride home that day as the car had to stay overnight and they delivered the car when it was ready. Super nice folks.

My MKC needed the headlights adjusted from the factory and I noticed a whistle in the sunroof. Service began to look into the whistle and discovered the entire glass needed to be replaced. They had to order the glass from the manufacturer and this took some time but they kept me informed. I appreciated how thorough they were and will definitely go back for all my automobile needs.

I had received news that morning that my car had been totaled; so naturally I needed a new car just did not want to buy one because I absolutely loved my Prius. My husband and I stopped in and was greeted by David Wilson and let him know what we were looking kind of looking for. He showed us some really great cars and I test drove the Escape that I then purchased. He was so knowledgeable about the vehicle and the warranty. I walked away the first visit and went back around 2 and met my dad to look at the vehicle. We also talked with Scott Bryan who has worked with some of my family members in Nascar. He was great as well! I walked away again, and drove through several other car lots and found nothing that I even wanted the look at... We drove all the way to Mooresville to look at cars and found nothing! It was about 7:17 pm and I called David and told him that I wanted the car, but that we were on our way home from Mooresville. He worked with us and got all of the information over the phone. We got to the dealership right at 8pm got the paperwork signed and we were off! David along with everyone else that worked with us was incredible and patient! David has been wonderful and touched base with me many times to make sure that I was still happy with everything, and I am! I have told many people about you guys and if we are ever in the car buying mood in the future we will definitely be back!

My wife has a number of orthopedic issues that precluded her driving anything other than her 2000 Buick La Sabre. So, when it came time to start shopping for a new car for her, we knew we would be in for a journey. Long story short -- first we bought a used Ford Flex. At the time, it seemed like the right fit, but turned out to have a lot of comfort issues for my wife. So we took it back and bought a 2015 Ford Escape....nope, still not right. Third time is the charm. We ended up with a 2014 Taurus, she finds it very comfortable. The dealership was patient and accommodating on this roller coaster ride it took for us to finally purchase the right car. We ended up with a great car at a great value, and we appreciate the patience of the dealership, and especially of Scott Mitchell who stuck with us through the entire process.

Dan M in sales was outstanding. I came away from this transaction the most satisfied of any new car deal I have ever made. And I have bought cars new since 1986 from many local dealerships. The Service dept seems a bit dis-jointed. (I had to have a CD player replaced by service dept, a couple days after buying truck.) From my perspective, the service dept could be a bit more organized. ie: After sales person referred me to them, they didn't know what I was there for when I went back to replace the part. But the sales force is top-notch. I traded in 2 vehicles, and they gave me a trade in quote on one vehcicle (exactly the figure I wanted) with the vehicle sight unseen.

After driving an hour to look at a vehicle, I was very disappointed in the treatment that I received at this dealership. I was assisted by Zack Queen, and he was rude before we even visited the lot to look at the vehicle which we were interested in potentially purchasing. I was very up-front with Mr. Queen and told him that we were looking at a newer vehicle at another dealership, but were more interested in the particular vehicle at his dealership if they were willing to be flexible (at all) on the price. He responded, "well, then why did you drive all of the way up here?". After making a special trip on a weekday morning to see the car, his arrogant tone was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. He also took a call which appeared to be from another customer and put the phone down momentarily to avoid having to listen to her speak- again, this was unprofessional (especially when sitting in front of a potential customer).I drove the vehicle, and we went back to the office to discuss the final price. I told him that it was perfectly fine if the price could not be adjusted, and we would go with the other vehicle that weekend. I was not disappointed in the dealership's inability to change the price as much as I was disheartened to be treated as though I was simply an inconvenience. My husband and I have looked for a new vehicle at 4 other dealerships in the last couple of weeks, and no other salesman/woman treated me in this way. I really hate to write a negative review, but I felt like others should know what to possibly expect from this dealership.

The experience with the staff(salesman and manager) was Excellent. I found that David Wilson and Dan Matkins (salesman) are very knowledgeable and very helpful but most of all very courteous. There was no pressure to buy and answered all my question. Also the manager Jeremiah Whitsett was very efficient and was very courteous with our time and helpful explaining the paper work. The Escape feature and the courtesy of the staff is what is so impressive.

I went to Cloninger Ford of Hickory about 2 weeks ago to get my 2012 Ford Fusion serviced ;regular oil change tires rotated etc . While there I decided to look at the new Ford Focus. I bought the first one I picked out because of it's looks and color and especially after I drove it. It fits like a glove and rides like a much bigger car. First of all, certified used doesn't mean anything. No one seems to check anything on these cars before they slap them up there for sale. Within a few weeks of ownership, we were already in the service department. This service department consists of a bunch of incompetent individuals in their early 20's who definitely lack customer service skills and also appear to lack knowledge about cars. I won't be returning to this service department. I wish I didn't have to to return to any Ford service department. Should have stayed with Honda.

This dealer offers a $500 low price guarantee, they do not do what they say. I tried to purchase a new Ford from them and had a purchase order for that vehicle from another dealership with a much lower price. All the salesman said was they don`t know how the other dealer is selling that low. I ended up having to purchase from the dealer the purchase order was from and contacted Cloniger Ford to get my $500 as promised, they refused. Went and filed a complaint with the BBB and now they are saying that the type of vehicle was not the same model so the guarantee does not apply. I have supplied the bill of sale and everything requested but I can not win with the BBB when the dealer is willing to lie about the model of the vehicle. Beware of this dealer they have this fraudulent guarantee to get you in the door.

I had a great experience this past Saturday getting my vehicle serviced. However, the price to change a fuel filter that is recommended by Ford is outrageous. $79.00 or more to change it and I found the exact part for under $15.00 ? If I can do the parts myself , I will. I feel as though this taking advantage of the customers. WAY over priced. As for the general service, I do this so that I have a dealership record of the service. Thank you again but parts and some prices are way over board.

The Service itself was very good. They did a good job of determining it might take a while and quickly deciding to get me a rental car rather than have me waiting around all morning.The only issues I had were with the rental car coverage. Enterprise told me that Ford does not cover the gas. This surprised me. I could understand not covering excessive driving and gas but this was my normal commute mileage. Since the rental car used a lot more gas than my C-Max Energi uses I did not think that I should be out money for a warranty repair on a car with less than 3,000 miles on it. I normally charge my C-Max Energi and use gas only between when I get the charges. 10 gallons normally lasts me about a month. The rental car used 4 gallons in 1.5 days

I purchased a used Scion XB for my high-school-aged son. Our sales rep was very courteous and respectful, knowledgeable about the car, and even arranged for the car to be put up on the rack so we could look at the undercarriage. The technician who did that gave us a complete tour of the underside of the car, which was very helpful in making the purchase decision, because the car had been owned in Michigan for 18 months and we wanted to check for corrosion damage - and there was none. Additionally, we had one mechanical problem with it the first day we got it home, it happened several times over the next two weeks, and the dealership had it repaired. Outstanding customer service from start to finish on this transaction. I highly recommend Cloninger Ford.

I UNDERSTAND THAT UNDER MY CONTRACT, WHICH IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE ONE THAT YOU HAVE TO OFFER, THAT OIL CHANGES ARE FREE, EXCEPT IF YOU USE PURE 100% SYNTHETIC OIL. I WOULD THINK THAT YOU WOULD WANT 100% SYNTHETIC OIL TO BE USED TO HELP SAVE AND PROLONG THE LIFE OF MY HIGH POWERED ENGINE (2014 MUSTANG GT W/5.0 LITER. I contacted the dealership about scheduling an appointment the next day about a 2008 KIA Sorento advertised on their website. Immediately I received a callback. The salesman even called the following morning to confirm my appointment, even volunteering to bring the car to my home because we had a sick family member.He was waiting for me at the door, showed me the car, explained all the details, and gave me a test drive. He was extremely polite and attentive to my family's personal need about the type of vehicle we needed. The loan process was simple and painless, from the time I entered the front door until all the paperwork was signed. I was impressed that I was given choices about the terms of my purchase. So often we're told that women are treated differently than men when purchasing a car. I feel I was very fairly treated.

My wife and I are in the market to replace a 2004 kia with 170,000 mile. Found a car we both like at Cloninger Ford. Gave them my out the door price and after a bit, and coming up $500.00, they excepted. (Received text to prove deal acceptance.) "Come on in and we will have papers and car ready." I was told. Drove 30 minutes to sign deal , pay with a check and brought alone an employee ( on the clock) to pick up the car. Got to Cloninger's and Dean (Salesman) said the car had been sold about 20 minutes ago. My deal was at 10;00 AM and it's 1:00 PM. My guess is that someone offered a little bit more! No ethics !!!

sales team is absolutely wonderful! however the same cant be said about the service and parts department. service department overfilled transmission in mothers escape causing it to blow fluid out everwhere. quick service guys are untrained and just trying to make a quick sale. the parts department has some of the most arrogant and rude people I have ever met. definatley need some customer service training or replaced. i was a tech at this dealer under the previous owner for 7 years. i know how this is supposed to work. i would buy another car from here as long as the salesman i had was there, but i will NEVER give that parts or service department another penny of my money ever!!!! i'll find another dealer for service work if needed.

Found the truck online and Kendra followed up wonderfully. Other dealerships rarely returned calls and were more difficult to deal with. My oil change went fine though I was very surprised to learn about the wear on my rear brakes. I have not driven that far since my last brake service which was a major service and I suspect the brake wear is due to the problem I had with the brake service which caused severe burning and required resetting the brakes after the service.

We have purchased many vehicles and this one was, by far, the easiest. We spotted a truck that we liked and went ahead and filled out most of the preliminary information online and answered a few questions over the phone. Later that evening, we went to the dealership where they already had the paperwork ready, went on a test drive in the truck, they answered all of our questions, took our trade in and we drove away in the truck. All of this in a little over an hour. Other places have taken us 4 - 6 hours. Everyone was so helpful. We will definetly be back.

2013 Ford Fusion, I wasn't looking to buy a car, but this was the dream car I always wanted. Color, style, low miles, cost. I just couldn't resist. John Deal was our sale rep, and he did a fabulous job. We chose him because of his awesome service he gave us on our last purchase from Taylorsville Ford Dealership when he worked there. Actually they just received the car a day prior and it wasn't even on the lot yet. They were still taking pictures of it to put online (which is where we seen 1 photo of it and knew about it). But, John went and got it from them to let us see and test drive it. The car had a facial on the bumper which was pushed in. They fixed it before we left and they went ahead and ordered a new part for it. That stood out in my mind that they wanted to make sure they were selling a great car.

I drop my car off to have the back glass resealed after a nine month leak and not finding an answer and the glass company said they wouldn't do it because it wasn't the problem and Rich spent four days trying to prove the guy wrong, which they was and Rich was awesome enough to have the guy come back out and reseal my glass find key should have done in the first place. I will however have to wait until it rains to find out what the problem is fixed completely.

Drove 1.5 hours after being told a car was being held for our teenage daughter. Pulled up with an excited daughter who was getting her first car experience, certified payment in full check in hand only to be told they "sold" the car out from under us earlier in the morning-we were there well before 11:30am. A 1.5 hour drive back home with a very disappointed kid and two irate parents. These people lie and cheat people and act like its no big deal. Very poor business practices.

What was most helpful was having all your vehicles on line with the availability to view the window sticker. Having an appointment with the salesman was very good. Not having a rush of salesmen coming out the door was also an advantage. Since I already knew which truck (F-150 XLT 4X4) I wanted, Dillon Parker took me directly to the vehicle for a test drive. He had the paperwork done in a minimum amount of time. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, courteous and helpful. I will have no problem recommending Cloninger Ford to friends and family. Far superior to other dealerships I have dealt with.

We Purchased a Used Lexus GX 470 on 12/29/2014We worked with John Deal to test drive the car and to work the purchase. John's style of being easy-going and friendly set us at ease very quickly. We were working with Internet Pricing so there were few negotiations but John worked with us on fixing minor details. The thing that I feel made a big difference in our decision is that John presented us a copy of the work order for services that were done on the vehicle before it was placed on the lot for sale. I've not seen that from a used car dealer before.

I purchased a Ford Explorer for myself and an Escape for my son. Working with Bobby Yount and Josh Simmons was a real pleasure. They put great effort into making sure everything was right. The dealership is clean, the staff is professional, and the cars are great quality. I traded in a Mercedes GL450 for the Explorer and after having the Explorer for several weeks, I think it is a higher quality car than the more expensive Mercedes, on multiple levels.

I could not ask for a better experience. Eric Smith was an exception to what a car salesman is. His professionalism and knowledge of the Fusion is superior. He is by far not your typical car salesman. He was very low pressure with me and made the whole deal on my terms. Since my time is very limited, that meant a great deal to me. I purchased my second Ford Escape Titanium recently at Cloninger Ford in Hickory, NC. The escape is a great vehicle and I really like the features. Here's the facts: Oil change #1 Took car in for The Works oil change (oil and filter change, tire rotation, tire pressures checked and adjusted, tire sensors reset, and top off all fluids). When I got the car home the tire pressure light was on, I checked and the front tires had 56 lbs the back 42. Should have been 40 in front 49 in back. I adjusted and light went off. The coolant level was low as was the windshield washer fluid. Too much oil, too. Left hood lock cover wide open, that dives me crazy like seeing a gas door open.Oil change #2. Same Works oil change. Oil level was good, did top off fluids, tire pressures were all 7 lbs. too high, I had to adjust. Wiper replacement: drivers side blade left a bad streak in center, called and was told, "Bring it by and we'll look at it." Click, that's the phone hanging up, no good bye, we're sorry, can we do anything else for you or anything! I'll not return and stand around for an hour for a cheap blade, I replaced at Auto Parts store, which I should have done anyway.Vibration at idle: May be a motor mount they said, replaced and Yes it did fix it. Surprise!Wish Terry Moore Ford in Conover hadn't closed down, they had wonderful service and really cared for their customers, here it just feels like they'd rather be doing something else.

We really had not planned on buying/just test driving with the offer given to us at the Auto Show. But we were quite surprised on what a good deal we received with our trade-in and getting the vehicle we really wanted. We were torn between Toyota and Ford. This will be our first Ford product. We liked what we saw at the Auto Show and we were able to get a 2015 Escape in red. Everyone at the Cloninger dealership was very friendly and helpful. I have bought many new cars over the years. My wife (Crystal) hated to go through this process with me because in my own words, "Buying a new car is like dealing with a pack of vicious dogs. Don't turn your back or you will get bit." In EVERY prior experience I came away feeling as if I had been in a fight.I was pleasantly surprised on "Black" Friday. Crystal and I was looking at the Ford Edge inventory and here comes David Wilson. My first thought was that the vultures had been unleashed.David was pleasant, not pushy. We looked at several vehicles and test drove the one that we settled on. David offered a reasonable price, and may I say that he could do so without having to go back and forth to some higher up; unheard of; we accepted and finished the deal.There are some things that cannot be taught. I worked in corporations most of my career and have managed MANY people. Sincerity, honesty and integrity are inherent traits. David Wilson exemplifies these traits. I am not ashamed to profess that I am a Christian. I am positive that David is as well. We clicked.I have already told some of my church family and friends about my experience. At least one couple is looking and if a Ford is what they decide on, I assure you that David Wilson will see these folks. I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid. The service was great, and the staff very helpful. The reason for the 4 instead of 5 on the how did we do is that I dropped my car off at 8:00 am. I was told it would take a couple of hours, so they gave me a ride to work. By lunchtime, I had not heard anything so I called. The person working on my car was working on two cars at time, and was out to lunch. I was told they would return my call with an estimate of completion when he returned. I did not hear back until 2:30 and was told my car was ready. They said they would deliver it. By 3:10, I still didn't have it, so I called back. The person that was setting up the delivery had been called out on emergency, and no one knew who they were supposed to deliver the car to. I asked them to just send someone to pick me up. They did and everything worked out fine. The staff were helpful when speaking to them about my issues.

Our salesman was Josh Simmons and he was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicle we came to see. It was later in the evening getting close to closing time but no one rushed us. My vehicle is older ('94 Ford Bronco), & I was not certain if the parts would be in stock or have to be ordered. Service adviser told me it would take about an hour to find out the problem & determine what parts were needed. Waiting area was very nice, magazines, large flat screen TV, fresh coffee & Krispy Kreme doughnuts, all made the wait less onerous. And you had the parts in stock, worthy of kudos, & made the repair within time frame I had been advised. I'm not sure where to begin. My experience started with my salesperson Eric Smith, I have never purchased a new car before and was nervous. Eric was amazing, he was very upfront and most importantly HONEST with me. After helping me choose the right car for me (my 2014 Ford Focus)it was off to the Finance Director James McElroy. He made signing the papers so easy, and he also was able to get my car payment where I wanted it. The team I had at Cloninger Ford were fantastic. I have told not only my family but also my friends about my experience. I was impressed that I had a follow-up text from Eric Smith as well as receiving a personalized letter in the mail from him. In 11/7/2014 James McElroy called with even more good news by telling me my payment was $8.00 less than we thought it was going to be. When I came by to give Mr.McElroy my paperwork, Eric Smith came out to meet my granddaughter as she is Autistic and her safety is everything which was the reason I loved the focus. If and when I chose to buy another vehicle I know I will be going to Cloninger Ford in Hickory, NC. I can only hope that when teh time comes both Mr. Smith and Mr. McElroy are still there.

I came in for routine service. At check in you found a recall notice. During service the mechanic spotted a waterpump going bad. Repairs took a day and were all warranty work. Only down side - I was promised a shuttle ride home that never materialized. Fortunately my wife returned from an out of town appointment early and was able to pick me up after a 3 hour wait.

The moment we pulled in, we were met with a smile and hand shake from David Wilson. He was eager to help with my physical limitations by letting us tour the lot by means of golf cart. Not only was that extremely helpful but fun as well. He let us take our time, not rushed and very informed on options. Once we made our selection, the friendly staff cleaned it up beautifully,filled it up and delivered it to the front door. We traded in a Mercury Milan that I loved (purchased from Ford in Lexington N.C.) and we think the 2014 Ford Focus will be just as grand for our family. The options in this car are great and I haven't even got around to learning them all. It is sporty and fuel efficient. By the way just yesterday I received the cookies. I haven't been that surprised for awhile, and they are so soft and delicious. I forgot to mention, the manager that did the paperwork on the financial end of the deal. What a guy! The purchase of my 2012 Mustang GT was without a doubt the best car buying experience ever. The staff at this dealership are second to non. From the first contact with David ORenick to the signing of the contract we were treated like part of the Cloninger family. Everyone went way beyond the call of duty to assure my purchase was to my liking and met my financial needs. I was very pleased with the staff and deal made on the vehicle. I couldn't have received better service or worked with a more professional staff anywhere. Thinking every thing was a done deal, I receive a call from your finance department saying he was able to get me a better deal and lower my payment, OUTSTANDING Normal dealerships don't work like this, but then their is nothing normal about Cloninger Ford in Hickory. Excellent job guys. Oh, and by the way, the box of cookies, nice touch.

When I pulled into "Service" I was NOT told there would be a $50 charge just to look at my vehicle and see what was wrong with it. I don't know of any garage, body shop etc that charges you a fee just to give you a diagnosis! My vehicle is a Ford and it still has the extended warranty on it, so I found this very frustrating, especially since this was not the first time I had been there for an issue with my vehicle. But the Service Dept manager made it right and was very nice about it.

2014 F150 Lariat SuperCrew 6.5 box 4x4. Best dealership experience I've ever had. Working with Bobby was a pleasure. He was very attentive, patient, and helpful in finding the truck I wanted. The WOW factor for me was his offer to have the truck delivered to my house from Hickory to Charlotte on a Saturday. Both of my vehciles were in for the Works & Inspection. I have always trusted service but when I left & stopped at my next destination, I notice the tires did not seem to be rotated. I called & was asked to return to the service area; Greg & I discussed the issue & Grey made things right. I understand that once the vehicle leaves the intake area, it is up to the actual service technician to perform the services requested. If this is not accomplished then Cloninger looks bad & the Service Manager also looks bad. But as stated early Greg made things right.Sincerely,P Iovale

Service to change actuary for AC/HEAT control to windshield, dash, and floor. The dash, steering wheel, consol, and drivers seat were removed to replace 2--$15.00 parts behind and under the dash. I do think car companies could find a better place to put this $15.00 part so anyone else with this problem will not have to spend $673.00 for replacements. So far, and it has been 3 days with driving and I do not have any rattles in the dash. If one develops, I will be sure to bring my F-150 back in to have it fixed. The wind shield was cracked when all was reassembled but Mark is going to replace it next week. Karl Thomason

Not a wise choice to purchase a used car from Cloniger. The salesman I worked with really did a good job of reassuring me that Cloniger would uphold their good name and reputation if anything should go wrong with my vehicle after my purchase. Just give me a call. I have been waiting on a call back for a week. The used vehicle I purchased left me and my baby stranded in a parking lot within just 3 weeks of having the car. I couldnt get the sales manager to give me a call back. Just a month after that we were stranded again. I have lost all dignity trying to get a call back. However, I did get an email about trading it for another used vehicle. Disrespectful! I feel like I have wasted my hard earned money and Cloniger could care less. I cant do business with Cloniger ever again and would not recommend anyone else.

We walked into the dealership and was immediately greeted by Tom Thomas who made us feel welcomed and at home instantly. We told him we needed something better on payments, would fit our family, and would cut our gas payments down. After collecting all of our information he put together the best deal possible and we drove off the lot in our new 2013 Ford Edge. I have never been happier to do that level of business anywhere. He saved us money on payments, our monthly gas expense has been cut in half and we are saving about a total of 260 dollars a month. We love our Edge and we loved the buying experience. He was a great salesman and will earn our repeat business for sure. I used the internet to search for a used Mercedes SLK within 100 miles of home. I found one at Cloninger Ford. We called them on the phone about 9:30 AM and spoke with John Deal. Yes, they had the SLK and John would be there all day. We had an early lunch and drove the 75 miles to Hickory. We met John, he had the car ready for us to see and had answers to some questions we had asked when we called that morning. The wife and I took the car for a test drive and when we came back John got us each a cup of coffee and we sat down to complete the paperwork for the sale! No hassle. We got the internet price. No pressure to use their financing or extended warranty. Paperwork process was quick and correct. I was driving home with my new purchase by 4 PM. John Deal was a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend him and Cloninger Ford of Hickory, NC.

He was very helpful in finding us the specific type of vehicle we were looking for, and he was very knowledgeable about the vehicle. We bought a 2013 Mustang GT convertible on 2/28 from Cloninger Ford- negotiated the "out the door" price via e-mail and phone with the friendly salesman.We drove from TN to the dealership the next day 3/1 to pay for and retrieve the car. We had to wait what seemed like an exceptional amount of time, given we gave our stats the night before and all paperwork was to be ready, but that was not a bother. We had a cashier's check for payment, so no financing to go thru. The sum due was for the agreed to "out the door" price which included a processing fee and TTT fees. Almost three weeks later we received a check from Cloninger Ford for the TTT amount paid and no explanation of why it was being returned. In summary, we paid the full processing fee for very minimal paperwork to be done by the dealership and now we have to take additional time to register the vehicle, and pay an additional $80 out of pocket. We have spoken to the title clerk who explained there are too many varied taxes in TN (vary by county) so the message there seems to be it was too much work for Cloninger to figure it out on the front end. We have spoken to the salesman, still a friendly man, who said sorry it didn't go as planned, hope you'll still be our customer. even though we live in TN, Cloninger is not that far from home and we would likely have done business there again. We are a Ford family thru and thru so this is not our first or last Ford purchase. It just won't be at Cloninger again unless someone makes an effort to show they understand the issue and offer some form of compensation.

Unfortunately this is the third trip with the 2012 fiesta, seems the service department need some training, first it was a problem with the power steering, then it was, it needs a gas pedal, needless to say the Lemon is sitting at Cloninger's Ford in Hickory, and lets not forget this car was certified along with a bumper to bumper warranty. As for my vehicle, I love it, problem is your told to "stop bye" alls I have been trying to get is the Pandora app synced with the vehicle, I appreciate that you would of done that for me, however we have been "Bye" several times, a few times your busy another time not even there. I don't live two miles away so it is not convenient for me to keep chancing "stopping bye", simple instructions is all I require!!! Unfortunately, every time we were there to complain about the car, immediately your asked, "Who sold it to you?" I even had one guy ask me, "so what does the car need?" I have every intention to get this out to the public! As far as I can tell once your out the door and drive away in their car/suv/what have you, you are on your own! And for the folks who might happen along and read this, that Lemon was bought for my daughter whom is fighting cancer, a single mom of a five year old that live at home. My husband works in ND, we just wanted piece of mind for her and her son! Weve got nothing but a runaround and added worries.

My husband and I drove from Charlotte because we were told if we did we would recieve the deal we desired. Upon arrival Drew knew nothing of what we were told concerning price. We were upset and he told us "Donny's job was to get us in their door...they don't care what we had to do to get there as far as our family was concerned" also, the price given to us once we were in the dealership was double what we had discussed on the phone and we were very explicit on the phone. We had a hold on an equilivent car in Rock Hill for the price we wanted we just prefered the color in Hickory and they WASTED our time knowing we drove 1.5 hours there and have 3 children that we got a sitter for on a weeknight. They didnt even attempt to negotiate saying "they only had $700 wiggle room" terrible experience...wont be back.

My husband and I came in just to look at the new style of the 2013 Fusion. Eric came over and introduced himself and asked if he could help. My husband told him we were just looking and he was very friendly and showed us exactly what we wanted to see. As we talked I really liked the color and everything I saw about the car and Eric could answer every question I had. He told me how he could help with some of the things I maybe didn't like about that particular car and the more I dealt with him the better the entire experience became. My husband and I brought the car home with us the same day and never felt one bit of pressure or negative energy. Everyone at the dealership went out of their way to be nice and handle anything I wanted or my every so picky other half wanted as well. There was a question about floor mats and honestly it was never a question, the manager just ordered them and never another word said. Magnificent experience. I would so highly recommend this dealership and Eric. And while we were waiting I started a conversation with Brandy at the entry desk. She was so friendly and nice. She made the entire experience even better. It shows, from the front door to the exit, everyone there is great. Thanks everyone!

I bought a new 2013 escape tianium from this dealership.The experience was really great. They did not have the car my wife wanted so we negociated a great price and ordered the car from the factory. Six weeks later the car came in and Bobby honored all the previously agreed on committments. They gave me a great price for my trade in and the whole exchange went without a hitch. I rate this dealership very bad, pushy and demanding, the salesman that attended me only cared about making his commmision on my sale, he did not care about me nor my best intrest, he keep telling me how good i would look in the car i purchased, and he pushed me into giving him $500 after bringing the car to my job 30 miles away. My children and i hated the care the very next day and hated him for selling it to us. It was not a family car at all which was what i needed with three kids. I have now gone to Priorty Honda of Hunterville, and my children and i are extremly happy

Relaxed and no pressure. Will recommend to others and will deal with again soon. I have purchased a new vehicle from Armstrong Ford every 3 years for the past 15 years. So when I came by to get another new vehicle, I was surprised to see that the dealership had changed hands and ALL of the people I knew had been replaced. A very nice salesperson, Eric, met me on the lot and told me that my prior saleperson was no longer at the dealership. I had Eric assist me in the sales process. When we got inside and began the dealings, Eric was very nice and polite. I believe that he asked me for more information than what he really needed to get figures, but I obliged him and gave him what he asked for. Then, he came back with a paper that had the selling price, down payment, trade price and monthly payments. I told Eric that I had title in hand and would pay cash difference. He told me then what the difference would be to trade. That was WAY OFF the mark. Prior to coming to the dealership, I had already been to my bank which gave me both the trade and retail values for my car according to Nada and Black Book. I also had already visited Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds.com and whatismycarworth.com. Between 5 different sources, I had a good idea of value. Cloninger was $2100 off the trade value on average! So, Eric had his sales manager come talk with me. His name was Sean. Sean was very rude, arrogant, and talked down to me the entire time. He got confrontational and basically try to tell me that I was wrong. Bad idea. So, I left the dealership and drove immediately over to Carmax in Hickory. I sold my vehilce to them for CASH (actually a check) and was given $2675 more than what Cloninger Ford had offered me. That was not a trade allowance. Instead, I drove over to Crossroads of Morganton and purchased my new car. After an 18 year relationship with the best car dealer around, I have now began my journey with Crossroads of Morganton. If Sean really is the sales manager, then the owner obviously does not know how to hire good people and the dealership will fall soon. Once again, Eric is an outstanding individual (maybe they should make him the sales manager).

Scheduled appointment for oil change. Arrived and was told approximate time of completion would be one hour. An hour later my car is still sitting where I parked it with no service performed. When I asked the rep if he thought it would begin to get worked on he stated they had a backlog and were getting to it. If I wanted to wait for hours to be served I would go to a quick lube with one person on staff. If they are going to schedule appointments then some normal time frame to be served would be greatly appreciated. And if you are running behind tell me when I arrive so plans can be adjusted accordingly. I will not be purchasing vehicles from this location following this experience and will not bring vehicles to this location for service in the future and will tell friends to avoid this location.

I have less than perfect credit but Mr. Lipe really worked hard to get me into a new Focus. I am thrilled with the car and thrilled with the service at Cloninger. David Lipe called me every other day to keep me updated on his search for the car I wanted. And although I didn't get that car, I am happy with the one I did have. (There was a time frame restriction on getting a car for me.) He was my champion in getting me a loan and making sure I am happy. He succeeded. He couldn't be there for when I picked up the car, but he put me in good hands with David Britt. He made sure I was comfortable with the car and took me around to the service department and introduced me to them. I am VERY happy with the sales department and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a car. (In fact, my dad is looking at the new Fusion and was impressed with the dealership, so I know where he will go first.) Big thanks to David Lipe and David Britt and everyone at Cloninger Ford for making a first time buyer's experience so nice and easy and comfortable.

It was a "OK" experience. My mother and I love the car. However, it was around 5pm when we test drove the car and I wish we tried out the car overnight instead of being pressured in buying that night. We were told by the mananger that he had numbers that needed to be met for President's Day and that the price was for that night only. However, later, I found out the $2,000 rebate was for the whole month. The price was fair but I later found out the price was the same as the internet price of the car and I might have been able to get a better deal if I went home and did more research. Eric, the salesperson, was very nice to work with that night but there was not much follow-up after the sale.However, still love the car.

We were looking at the Escape. After a dissatifying visit to Terry Moore in the morning - they low-balled us on our trade in and the salesman told me the second row of the Escape did NOT lay down flat; that as far down as it went was when the second row headrest leaned into the back of the front seats. This took the Escape off the table as a vehicle to consider. As it was, we were giving up having 3 rows of seats.I went to another Mfr and had my mind set on another vehicle. But we have been a Ford family for 25+ years. My husband wanted me to check another Ford Dealership - at least to see what the trade-in number would be. When Dave was showing me the features of the Escape, I was surprised to learn that the second row seats DID GO ALL THE WAY DOWN. This put the Escape back on the table as a consideration. I could not believe the salesman at Terry Moore did not know this AND he was going to lose the sale over it. I told him that was a deal-breaker for us.Dave was knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to show me how the vehicle and features worked. He answered all my questions. He did not drag things out or give me a "hard sell". Dave even let me borrow the Escape I was considering for the afternoon so my husband could see it. Over that time I decided we needed to upgrade to one with a few more features. What a great idea that was to let me borrow the Escape because I kinda had my mind set on just buying the base model - and I am SO glad I got the one with a few more comforts.The dealership gave us a fair number for our trade-in. Everyone there was friendly. I felt valued and respected. I will gladly refer family and friends to Dave and Cloninger Ford.Thank you for a pleasant buying experience.

Cloninger Ford offered the best rate on a low mileage vehicle with the specs I wanted as well as a good choice of vehicles at affordable rates. I drove from Spartanburg, SC an hour and 30 minutes to see the 2007 X3 BMW. From an initial email I received from my website submission, this was a smooth transition all the way through. Phone follow-up the next day had me sitting in the drivers seat test driving my vehicle and driving it home the same day. I arrived and was greeted by some of the friendliest, courteous, most knowledgeable and confident sales persons I had ever met at any dealership. Russell Taylor was assigned to assist me through the whole buying process. His demeanor was pleasant, calm, not stuffy or arrogant, non-threatening or pushy, very professional and his attention to detail was exceptional as well as the cooperation from the full staff there. I clicked and bonded with the team and felt I was treated fairly like a person should be and not as a client just spending money for a vehicle to increase sales. We received a letter from the dealership offering to purchase good used cars. We weren't sure what would happen---probably just a run-around. We were greeted warmlyand made it clear we were not interested in trading cars. The salesperson wasso nice and friendly. Our first offer was too low so we declined but asked for thefree oil change. A second offer was made which was still lower than we wanted.After asking for a bit more money, we came to an agreement to sell the car.Our salesperson was wonderful as well as the general manager. After the paperworkwas completed, we got the free oil change on our other car as well as a fill-up of thegas tank. I expected to get a few gallons of gas but was surprised to have the carcompletely filled up.I always have hated buying/trading cars. But this time was so pleasant. Talked with Russell when I was having my 2008 F-150 serviced told him what I was looking for,I looked at a 2011 F-150 expressed my concerns and needs he talked to Mr. Cloninger explained my situation worked with me throughout the deal process and helped me get into a new 2011 ford F-150.He is a great asset to the dealership,and I will work with him again in the Future on my next purchase.

I came here just for a consumer report for a on a 2005 Ford Tauras and Russ did a very good job showing the good as well as the bad on that particular car we even test drove one. We also also looked at the Chysler Concorde which I bought.He was very professional with his approach.I am well pleased with the deal he presented I would highly recomend the Staff at Cloniger Ford to friends and family.

I bought a 2004 Buick Rendezvous for a first car. Got to say Im very impressed I love the car and my salesman (Russel Taylor). He went out of his way just to make me happy. It took me around 3 weeks to gather up everything I needed as far as a co-signer and a ride there. He did whatever he could to make my payments a small as possible and he did an awesome job!(It worked too I paid $0 down and only $168 a month for 4 years). Russel is a Very funny, kind, and caring man! My car is awesome and didn't cost me much at all! I would most defiantly recommend Cloninger Ford! Great prices, great salesmen, and a whole lot of selections.

i have a 2010 ford fusion that has been at the dealer ship several times for a no start condition the last time it happened i was informed to not jump it off to call roadside assistance and have it brought to the dealership so they can look at it while in a no start condition and they could then determine what was causing this on going problem when it happend a third time that is excatly what i did when i called the next day to check on it they said they had no idea what was wrong with my car and i ask them if it would start and they said NO. i went to the dealer the same afternoon to turn in the rental car i was in and to check on mine and thet said its ok now it is starting now and it was fixed i ask them what they found and they said they charged the battery (the same thing they told me not to do)so i know it is just a matter of time before i am stranded again

Eric was very helpful, friendly and forthright throughout our buying experience. When the car was located and delivered there was a problem with interior color that was unknown to all prior to physically receiving the unit. The Cloninger team rectified the problem promptly. Shawn at Cloninger Ford of Hickory went above and beyond helping with my unique situation (active duty Navy, stationed out of state, trying to coordinate the purchase around leave time). When I showed up to inspect the car and sign for it, everything with the car was as described. What attracted me to Cloninger was the great price. Other similar cars are listed for many thousands of dollars more - I found no reason to try to haggle with the price.The car and dealer experience were more than I could have asked for. A refreshing change of pace. Very recommended.

Overall, I had a good experience with the salespeople. The place was in disarray due to their move while renovating; therefore computers were not working properly. Hopefully once everything and everyone is moved into the trailers, things will be working properly. I was disappointed that I had to wait so long to complete paperwork. The day of the purchase I was there almost 3 hours and the next day over 2 hours to complete the paperwork. The staff apologized for the aggravation and inconvenience and all went well. AND I LOVE MY NEW CAR!!!
