I found my car online, 2012 gti. Price point was excellent, car was clean rode well. My complication was poor credit and only a trade in as down payment. From the moment Jeff greeted me shook my hand I could tell this wasn't your typical salesman. I told him the car I was interested in, in a matter of minutes a plate was on the car and Jeff and I were off on the test ride. We discussed the car and our mutual love for vw's at no point was I under the feeling that I was being pressured into anything or that it was a take it or leave it type of deal. We essentially drove the car around the block and back. When it came time that i was ready to deal on the car Jeff made every effort to get me into the car. Working with the finance department, sales managers, and trade in guys. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and helpful, but not in a way that any of the pleasantries felt fake. Even after the deal was done, Jeff followed up via phone call, and even text message and allowed me to ask him any questions I had even during his off hours while at home. You can't put a price on that type of genuine care and service. I felt like I was on top of world after leaving from buying the car and that feeling has not left me, from pickup and even just today I brought the car back for a couple minor issues and all of the staff, especially Jeff, can't be commended enough on their level of service. I will continue to be a customer of yours and will recommend you to anyone who is interested in a vehicle new or used in the future. I'm 54 and I have just experienced my worst consumer experience of my life. "Shop us Last" is the appropriate statement for Commonwealth because I will never shop them again based on the treatment from the VW Service Department.

I had such a great experience leasing another car with Commonwealth Volkswagen. Jeffrey Mercedes made the process easy and with minimal stress. I have and will continue to do so, recommended family and friends to go for their next vehicle at Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence. 3 years ago I was fortunate to land Jeffrey Mercedes as my salesperson to help me with my leasing purchase of a Tiguan. He was extremely helpful and sensitive to my dilemma about leasing or not . I remember now how thorough he was helping me navigate the different operations from the Passat I traded. This month , as my lease was about to expire , I returned to Commonwealth to consult with him but he was off that day; I ended up purchasing a new Jetta anyway. I have had to go back for additional help to understand how to operate the radio and other concerns , and it has been Jeffrey who has volunteered , unsolicited, to help me .He is an asset to this service center.

I have been using this dealer for the maintenance of my 2006 Passat (2 years). The hourly rate is identical to the regular garage down the street. For the same price I am getting factory trained technicians and warranty. I have always dealt with Mark Defrancesco. He is very honest and explains all the suggested repairs. I really like that he understands that it is a 10 year old car and never tries to push me to do unneeded repairs. Always gives me a great price as well. I am in and out the same day with great shuttle service to and from work.

Took my 2014 VW Passat in for it's 20,000 mile tune up on December 12th. I had called the day before and no appointment was needed. I took the car in and they had done the job in less than an hour. I picked the car up and it was running wonderfully as usual. They made sure I was happy with the service and of course, I was.

Tuesday night before Thanksgiving my Beetle was making weird noises, I drove to Commonwealth and left it at night drop knowing Wed was day before holiday and I had no appointment. I left note I was off Friday so Friday I called to see if they could look at it and to my surprise it was DONE ! I mentioned another small issue I had and they took care of that as well. Best service ever!

I've bought about 15 cars and this was by far my best experience with any dealership. I totaled my last car I was in love with and was referred by a friend to Dennis Millman. I was looking for very specific vehicles to meet my needs. Dennis found me exactly what I wanted. It took a couple days longer than expected to try and get financing because of my shakey credit. Dennis got me a loaner car so I didn't have to go without a vehicle from their rental facility on site. (this is and awesome service that most dealers don't have available to them). I have a very busy schedule and work about 45 min away. As soon as the car was ready Dennis had Manny Cintron deliver the car to my work and drive the rental back for me!!!!! I was BLOWN AWAY by how far they went out of their way for me. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I highly recommend Dennis and his sales staff. I will never buy a car anywhere else again and have reffered everyone I know to him since. PS: I had an alignment done somewhere else and they broke a part on my car making it unsafe to drive. I called Dennis and he immeadiatly had me come drop the car off and got me into another rental...I was blown away. He introduced me to Reggie Miller in their service department. Reggie had me up and running with in one day with the part fixed and explained everything that they did in detail. This to me was very reassuring to know since I knew what the problem was, how it happened, and how it could be avoided in the future. Nothing is more frustrating than a mechanic just telling you your car is broken and you need to give them tons of money. It was a cheap fix and I was extremely happy to be back in my car that quickly. Reggie is a true assett to the commonwealth family.

We went to look at cars for my daughter and ended up at VW. She had one for a rental after her car was totaled. We dealt with Hans Malebranche who was very helpful in getting us what she really wanted. From a family of Chevy owners, this is a pretty nice car and a great leasing experience.

We just purchased 2 new VWs from Commonwealth VW. This was our 4th and 5th cars we purchased from them. They make buying a car fun and easy. At first the cars we wanted ended up not being in our budget range. But they have a huge inventory and their sales staff knows that inventory to the detail level. Before we knew it they had two cars that were almost everything we wanted and were within our budget range. The reason for this was not just the cars. The sales staff worked on the pricing until it met our needs. High marks for Commonwealth.

After going to other dealers, I ended up at Commonwealth since their prices online were the best and also because they were affiliated with the USAA Buying Program that offers discounted prices. The entire process was easy - and almost fun - credited mainly to my salesman Jeffrey Mercedes. He was very knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. He provided lots of options and ended up getting me in the car I truly wanted. I can only speak for the VW division, but would recommend this dealership to anyone. The atmosphere in general is beautiful, immaculate and contemporary. The sales manager Dennis Millman was very personable and helpful as well.

He made sure I understood everything I needed to know about the vehicle and he also helped be weigh my options from different models (golf vs jetta, packages, accessories, and financing. Overall not impressed with the dealership. Everything was either average, or below average. Short test drives, overly loud music, low ball pricing on trades with an effort made it seems to waste time. I wouldn't believe the majority of reviews on this website as they offer gift cards for positive reviews. The only reason I actually purchased a vehicle from them was because A) they had the only vehicle that had what I was looking for within a few hundred miles, and B) By the time I'd changed my mind, unfortunately I had already signed a purchase agreement, and they refused to give me my deposit back. Oh well, I enjoy the car, I just would never do business with them. The cookies they send after you purchase a car though is a nice touch.

Holly Setiadi, the Sales Assistant who sold us our new Jetta TDI SEL was wonderful. He was not a typical car salesman; very low key. He answered questions but did not push us towards a car. He let us take the time to make our own decision, but was there to answer questions He was very good about communicating with us over the phone rather than having to spend time at the dealership, and patiently answered all our questions. We ended up making the purchase within a few days of our test drive, and Holly made our overall experience very comfortable. As an added bonus, we have free service for a few years and FREE CAR WASHES for as long as we own the car. It's a small thing, but it really made us happy. The Financing portion of the evening was painless and we were able to get through the paperwork very quickly.We shopped around at different places, but ended up with Holly because he was the most helpful and flexible when it came to fulfilling the requirements we had in mind for our car. Thanks Holly!!

I contacted them regarding a pre-owned car on thier lot, and then went to thier lot to take a look see. The car had everything but 1 amenity that I need, and also the car had 142000+ miles on it. Upon starting the engine, I could hear a knock in it. At that point, the salesman Josh advised me that the car was being sold (as is). The car was a Mercedes and these cars can last up to and surpassing 300,000 miles and more. Dennis, the Mgr, suggested I consider leasing, which still didn't work for me as far as the numbers go. Then I went back home. a day or 2 later, the MB is still listing for sale. I called them again and spoke to Dennis, who advsed me the Benz was at a Benz dealer for service and he would call me upon it's return to thier lot in a day or 2. 3 days go by, I call them up again, Daniella answers the phone, I ask about the Benze, her boss tells her the car is no onger for sale because it doesn't meet thier standards! If that as true, then WHY was is shown to ME to begin with! Daniella told me that her Mgr advised the car was sent to auction! Thier salesman Josh was very professional and attentive to me during my visit there. The dealership owner and his family could use a lesson in credibility.

After being referred, I bought my first brand new car here and couldn't be happier! The costumer service was outstanding and they found me exactly what I was looking for! Everyone I talked to at the dealership was very knowledgeable and never once did I feel pushed or pressured to have to buy a car. They took the time to make sure what I was getting, was exactly what I wanted and the price couldn't be beat elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend any other place if you're looking to buy a new or even used car!

After having read 1 specific bad review of Daher's place from awhile back, I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. I went to take a look at a pre-owned car that was selling for a grerat price, a high end car that had the engine light on. I was there 1 week ago. now just a few days ago, I spoke to Dennis Millman, the owners son-in law, who told the car in question was at another dealership for specific repairs, and he would call me when the car was back to thier lot for me to see it again and test drive it. Dennis never called me back. Now today, 1 week later, after the same car was in the shop, they tell me that the car is no longer available for sale. I asked why, I revcieved no answer. Sadly, Dennis Millman gave me a great offer for my trade to begin with. I'll be taking my business elsewhere hopefuly to more credible dealer.

I am pleased with the service done on my Jetta TDI. Service manager Marc kept me up to date and explained what was being done throughout the entire process. I was also able to speak with technician George who had worked on the car. George took the time to explain the issues and solutions, I was very impressed with his knowledge. Marc and George are real assets to this service department and it was a pleasure working with them. My car is now running great.

Speaking for myself, purchasing a new car is not always an easy thing.. due to negotiating, finance, credit history, and attitude. Commonwealth Volkswagen made this process easy and pleasant. An effort and was made to find me the best finance rate considering my credit history was not great and they succeeded. Great, friendly, customer oriented, timely and kind. The service tech noticed my air bag light was on and out of the kidness of his manager and his own heart did a diagnosis on my car to find out it was a sense and didnt charge me. I went to VW with the intention of buying a newer used car that was safe and reliable for my family.. I have never bought a car from a bigger dealership like this before and can not explain how glad I am to have dealt with the wonderful staff at Commonwealth, especially the sales associate, Robert. We had the most pleasant purchasing experience at Commonwealth Volkswagon this past week. Josh Palmiri was professional, friendly and honest throughout the entire sale. We have decided to reconnect with Josh for the purchase of our new Honda Accord. They make it really easy to buy different manufacture types of auto's throughout the showrooms. In this way, we were able to work with Josh for our new purchase even though he primarliy sells Volkswagons. We really appreciated his efforts.

My overall experience from the extended warranty that was misrepresented during the sales process, then having repairs approved that in itself proved to be a lengthy process the 1st time I had my vehicle serviced which then turned into a 1-day repair into 1 week repair as the service department could not get the parts on a newer vehicle. My second experience turned into the service personal bad mouthing the warranty company - so two components a product misrepresented when sold and a product/company difficult to deal with when getting service repairs approved with the car owner left holding the bag without a car and costs.. Stay away from extended warranty - if I had known I would have never purchased my Volkswagen or a Volkswagen at all.The constant calls associated with your service would make one believe that you're receiving quality service but these just added to the frustration given the problems I encountered. When I asked the service people that called what the issue with the car was in both the first and second incident the could not answer what the problems were or problems with the extended warranty company approval process were or what I could do to intervene to resolve.On receiving the car, the car was dirty, granted dirty going in, but it would be a nice touch to remove the greasy boot marks and finger prints from the interior and exterior. Everything in the car was mis positioned - the seat, mirror, radio, etc. I felt whomever test drove it or worked on it felt it was their car and could leave it adjusted for themselves.For some reason the rear cowling on the trunk was cracked - not sure how this happened - I'll let this pass but there were fresh marks on the trunk but since it was brought in for steering issues one could only guess one this.To sum up both experiences - not happy and I dread having to repeat bringing my car in that I'm forced to do due to the questionable extended warranty packages that Commonwealth represents and sells to its customers.

I visited Commonwealth over the holiday weekend to shop for a beetle convertible. Jeff was extremely helpful, and patiently answered all of our questions. He knew the monthly payment I was willing to make and he worked hard to make it happen. Jeff promised that they would have a blue denim with black interior and exterior located by Tuesday, and Tuesday morning I received a phone call that it was on its way to Commonwealth. He even washed and gassed it himself so that I could take it home on Wednesday (earlier than planned). Jeff's professionalism and great personality made purchasing the car a stress free experience. I will happily recommend Jeff in the future to anyone I know looking for a car.

Bringing your car in for service? Think again. I will keep this basic and to the point. First off I do want to acknowledge that the dealership has a good sales team. The service center is definitely the opposite. When I had my car in for a clutch replacement under warranty, they told me 3 days. It took them a week. The disappointing part is that they never updated me on the delay. I always had to call to get information after the 2nd day it was in the shop. On top of that they washed my car without my consent. Its not that I mind the car wash but if someone is going to do it they should do it right. Whoever washed the car actually was scratching the dirt into the paint and the trim pieces and now it is all scuffed up. Initially they offered to correct they issue and after multiple attempts they were un able to and then denied responsibility of doing damage to the car. Also they still have not followed up on replacing some trim pieces that were promised. I am extremely disappointed with their service as it cost me a lot of lost time with no resolution. Mark the service manager is very misleading and I would not trust whatever he tells you. I stopped recommending my friends and family to buy and service cars at Commonwealth motors. I will now recommend people to herb chambers and kelly for any future service or vehicle purchase.

The service center is definitely the opposite. When I had my car in for a clutch replacement under warranty, they told me 3 days. It took them a week. The disappointing part is that they never updated me on the delay. I always had to call to get information after the 2nd day it was in the shop. On top of that they washed my car without my consent. Its not that I mind the car wash but if someone is going to do it they should do it right. Whoever washed the car actually was scratching the dirt into the paint and the trim pieces and now it is all scuffed up. Initially they offered to correct they issue and after multiple attempts they were un able to and then denied responsibility of doing damage to the car. Also they still have not followed up on replacing some trim pieces that were promised. I am extremely disappointed with their service as it cost me a lot of lost time with no resolution. Mark the service manager is very misleading and I would not trust whatever he tells you. I stopped recommending my friends and family to buy and service cars at Commonwealth motors. I will now recommend people to herb chambers and kelly for any future service or vehicle purchase.

I recently returned to VW to lease my second vehicle from Commonwealth Motors of Lawrence, MA. I was pleased to see that Jeffrey Mercedes was still with the dealership as my first experience with him had been excellent. I wanted to lease a VW CC after driving a Passat. I loved the Passat, but I was ready for a larger car with a bit more power. CC delivered on those desires and more. Jeffrey was again a pleasure to deal with - from the test drive, through the financials, to closing the deal, to final delivery, Jeffrey was a true professional. He even travelled to my place of business to obtain some last minute information to facilitate a quick delivery of the new vehicle. Jeffrey was an expert in all aspects of my vehicle and patiently answered all of my questions while showing me some of the details of the CC during delivery. Jeffrey knows his product line inside and out and his pleasant manner and commitment to my customer satisfaction was evident throughout my experience. My family has driven luxury automobiles for a long time and we have dealt with many sales representatives from BMW, Infinity, and Merecedes Benz..Jeffrey is the best sales person I have ever met. I will add that the entire staff at Commonwealth is outstanding, Mark Bernier was my Finance Manager and did an excellent job facilitating a quick final closing on the lease agreement explaining all paperwork in great detail that was easy to understand. The Commonwealth Service department is consistently superb and responsive as well. For my new CC, they (Chris) were very attentitve over the most recent July 4th holiday weekend to complete the initial MA state inspection in a very timely manner. I highly recommend Commonwealth VW to anyone in the area interested in purchasing/leasing a new or used Volkswagon.

The process was fun thanks to Jeffrey. The process from beginning to end was organized. I was given the time and help I needed to fill out forms correctly. When Jeffrey needed to spend time away from the desk, he told me how many minutes the process would take. There were several things I needed to remember to do. Those things were repeated. Mark had the paperwork ready to sign when I entered his office. I enjoyed light conversation while signing quite a few papers. You could say I felt more like a valued person than a sale. Jeffrey washed my car and together we transferred the contents of the car chatting all the time. I met one more manager before leaving. "Say Hi when you bring the car in." Yes, it was a very friendly experience while accomplishing the necessary work for leasing a car.The bonus - the car is new and my monthly payments remain the same.

I walked into a volkswagen dealership looking for a used car on a whim, I was greeted by a very friendly and polite man named Josh. My original intention was to finance an older used car, the problem with that is I would always be worried about the car breaking down or something other I could not foresee, but I was sure that was all I could afford on my budget. I explained my situation to Josh and he opened my eyes about all the different things commonwealth could do for me while making it affordable, he walked me through a few different dealerships to find me the best price and had answers to all the questions I asked. After finding the right car for the right price he stayed late day after day to make sure everything went smoothly to get me in my new car as fast as possible. Now thanks to Josh and all the amazing staff I met at commonwealth I am driving a brand new Civic, a car I know is safe and reliable (a big load off my mind) while staying comfortably within my price range. I could not be happier with all the service and opportunities that were provided by Josh. I have been telling my friends and family that if you are looking for a new car he is the guy to talk to. We did our homework and went shopping for a 2014 Passat TDI SEL Premium during the TDI promotion. We live in Weymouth, so we started with a dealer in Braintree. They were ready for us but we was also ready for them. There was no way that any deal was going to happen. We then went to a dealer in Brockton. We came close to making a deal but the negotiation stalled. Their Internet Sales Manager actually insulted us via email a few days later. We then contacted a dealer in Medford and did everything over the internet. The numbers on the new vehicle were "ok" but the money offered for our trade was not fair. So...instead of giving-up, we went to Commonwealth VW and met a very likeable young man named Jeff Mercedes. Jeff greeted us warmly and with respect. We talked for a short while and quickly made a deal! There was none of the usual nonsense that most people go thru when buying a new car. People who own VW's are different. We aren't just "buying a car". We give them names and you can never have just one. It is truly helpful when your salesman understands that, and shares the enthusiasm for the brand. The experience could not have been better and we feel we got a great deal and a fair shake on a car that we like and a brand that we love. Commonwealth is true to their advertising and their business philosophy.

After dealing with approximately 6 VW dealerships in both NH and MA, Commonwealth VW certainly lived up to their slogan, Shop Us Last. I not only obtained the exact price I was looking for, but also was treated as if I had not just fallen off the turnip truck. Most of my buying experience was via the web. Chantal was very responsive with respect to pricing, obtaining the exact car required and ensuring that there were no hidden fees etc. Commonweath's document fee is amongst the lowest around and I was pleased that they were able to obtain the precise vehicle in record time from another dealer. Mark Bernier (Finance Manager) was very professional and exceptionally efficient in processing all the paperwork involving the car purchase and subsequent financing. Andrew Medeiros spent well over an hour with me going through all the various options available on the Jetta prior to driving it off the lot. Could not have been more pleased with the overall buying experience. Perhaps it derives from the family ownership concept prevalent at all Commonwealth locations. I recommend Commonwealth VW if you are looking for a competitive price and personable sales personnel.

This was my first purchase of a Volkswagen. I purchased a VW Beetle Convertible, looking for a fun ride. That is just what Jeff Mercedes delivered. He was so great to deal with and so personable. He worked out a 3-year lease payment that I could afford and then went over all of the great features of the convertible. Then he gave me a tour of Commonwealth and I already have booked my first service visit at no charge to me.I was laughing with Jeff during the process of going over the features of the convertible, asking who buys convertibles in November. People who decide they want some fun in their life. I knew I had made the right vehicle choice when Jeff started singing "Rockstar" at the top of his lungs when he was teaching me how to use the Fender music system!!! I emailed about ten dealerships that I found online asking if any of them could help me to find what I wanted. the only criteria I said was a must was I wanted to put zero down and only pay $150/less a month, the brand, model, type of car did not matter, because it was strictly a second car that would be driven very seldom. I also said I did not care if it was a lease or a purchase. I am certain I made myself VERY clear of exactly what I wanted in my email. Of the ten dealerships I emailed ALL of them responded saying this was absolutely something they could do. I made appointments at the closest ones for last Saturday, and that morning I went to 4 different dealerships. I started in Tewksbury at Auto fair Nissan. My experience there was awful to say the least. First of all the person I had spoken to and scheduled the appointment with was not even at the dealership on Saturdays. I had to explain what I was looking for again and give the new sales rep all my info again. After waiting almost 45 minutes he came back offering to lease me a 2014 nissan versa (lowest model) for $3,995 down and $285/month- which was absolutely not any where close to what I had asked for. The sales rep was brand new and had no clue what he was talking about. He told me it costs about the same amount of money to lease or buy a car, and he also told me not to believe any of the ads I see online from dealerships offering low monthly payments and zero down- he told me in his exact words "Those ads are just lies to get business." After that statement I decided it was best to leave that dealership and never go back. the next two dealerships were not as awful as Autofair however both of those dealerships also lost my information, did not know I was coming and neither one could offer me anything in the price range I specified over email. After the third utter disappointment I almost canceled my appointment at commonwealth but I figured I would go to one more that day. i am do happy I did. Immediately upon walking in I knew my experience there was going to be different. First they did have an appointment scheduled for me and I actually met the person I had talked to the week before. She already knew what I wanted/needed so we did not have to waste any time doing that over again. My appointment was with Paula and immediately upon walking in she introduced me to eric beardman, the sales rep that would help me. He was great. He knew what I wanted and he didn't try to up-sell me or talk me into spending more money. He was honest and direct and I trusted him instantly. I have worked in sales my whole life so when I am approached by a typical sales rep with the usual banter I can instantly see thru it and it only makes me irritated. Eric did not do that. He was an excellent sales rep. I ended up getting the first car he showed me which was a volkswagen jetta for zero down and under $150/month- JUST WHAT I ASKED FOR!! and we were done with the whole deal in under 30 minutes. I was so happy and I also wished I had started at commonwealth instead of wasting hours at all the other dealerships that should have been honest from the beginning and told me that they could not meet my requirements. Bottom line is commonwealth got a new permanent customer and I now have a dealership that will be the only place that my family and I buy our cars. Trust me- check out commonwealth before any one else- Im living proof that no one can beat their prices, specials, sales or customer service. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!

This was the easiest and funnest car purchase I have ever experienced. Dennis Millman, the greatest Sales Manager I have ever worked with, was so amazing, professional and went the millionth mile to help us find the right car. We had to have the 50,000 mile service done on my husband's 2010 VW Jetta Sportwagen. Commonwealth was very accommodating with being available for an early drop off for our appointment. They kept in touch with as they found things that should be fixed in order to safely pass inspection. While we had not counted on the extent of our bill, it was very reassuring knowing that Commonwealth was doing everything it could to be sure that our car was safe and running well. This was my first time at Commonwealth, and I have only great things to say about them. Working with Devon Theroux was fantastic- his knowledge of VW was impressive and he's the ultimate professional. I'll admit we gave him a run for his money (my husband thinks of testing car salesmen as a sport) and Devon was patient with us and never waivered. In the end, we got a great deal and I'm very happy with my new Beetle! The followup from the dealership is also something I hadn't experienced before, even after buying two cars from a few other dealers in the past. The only complaint, and it's minor, is that I wasn't crazy about where the dealer decal was placed on my car- right in the middle of the back of the car, so I've removed it.

Our salesperson Devon was very friendly and created an atmosphere that was confortable for us so that we could look at the cars at our own pace and answered our question honestly and specifically. For a person that has only been in sales for such a short amount of times I think he was better than most salespersons we've seen so far. The negotiation process was enjoyable with just the right amount of tension and mutual respect and we were able to meet at a price that we both agreed on. Mark who is the sales manager at Common Wealth VW was very professional. Most of the sales managers that I've seen so far are very pushy and make things uncomfortable when they try to get you to sign for extra coverages. Mark was not this type. He suggested and just gave us time to discuss and think and respectfully understood what we decided and it made choosing very easy for us. Picking up the car and services afterwards was also great. They continue still to be very friendly and professional when called to ask questions and I would definitely come back to Common Wealth again in the future.

We had to take our daughter's 2009 VW Jetta TDI manual in for a service. It had been rejected for its' state inspection due to a 'Check Engine' light that had been on. While it could have been easy to tell us that we would have to spend $800 to replace the Glow Plug computer, they kept searching and found a blown glow plug fuse which had been blown. They said that they hadn't seen that before, but they replaced it and they said that all systems were good to go!! Hallelujah! Thrilled that they found the less expensive fix for us and we are very grateful. We will definitely be back for future service! Thank you.

My experience at Commonwealth Volkswagen was simply outstanding from start to finish. After completing a sales inquiry online for a new car, Josh Palmieri followed up with a phone call in a relatively short time with all the information I had requested. Of all the dealerships that contacted me, Commonwealth and Josh was the only one to call with all the specific details and conveyed a sincere interest in answering my questions and earning my trust and business. Many of the other dealerships were much more focused on the approach of "just come on in" and we will take care of things when you get here. I was pleased to see this is not the approach taken by Commonwealth and their sales team. They legitimately want you to be happy whether it's answering questions on the phone or in person.Josh was extremely knowledgeable about Volkswagen and all the different models, in addition to this he knows all the product offerings throughout Commonwealh (i.e. Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen,etc). This is what buying a car should be. As I told them at Commonwealth VW, I am giving them not only my business but my highest rating in part because the other dealers were so bad. I had done my research and knew just what model and equipment I wanted. I emailed three dealers, two of which I had visited for a test drive the summer before. Paula Mattucci at Commonwealth got back to me immediately with a price list and answered all of my questions promptly and professionally and, most importantly, without any BS. Her price was thousands lower than the other dealers who were trying to offer me cars I didn't want (I have the feeling that they only half read my emails.) When I got back to the States (I had been teaching abroad for the school year) Josh Palmieri had the car ready exactly as I ordered it. June 21, 2013 we drove home in a 2012 Volkswagen Passat SEL Premium V6 Certified Car. The purchasing experience was great as the salesman Josh Palmieri was knowledgeable and dealing with him was a pleasant experience as was our experience with the business manager Mark Brenier. Both were easy to work with, not pushy, polite and professional. Josh spent quite a bit of time with us reviewing all the features included in the vehicle and was very patient when asked to repeat something as we are not of the high tech generation! Marc, was not trying to get us to purchase other warranties and went over all the paperwork with clarity. It was a pleasant experience and everyone in the dealership was polite and professional in both appearance and knowledge. IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE! I would highly recommend the dealership--ask for Josh--He is also knowledgeable about other makes and models.

Do not take your vehicle there to be serviced - New to 60,000 miles of service visits - issues every time - I've never experienced anything like this before with the vehicles I've owned - minor issues but enough to cost you time and aggravation to life threatening ones lug nuts left loose on serviced tires - One time I had just had new tires put on the car - drove it 15 miles right to the dealership to have scheduled service - somehow a tire wall got slashed and they tried to blame it on me and or the company that installed them - I had to fight to get them to replace - and when they finally did, service manager made a point to tell me that because of their 'generosity that I was to not mention the incident when getting the follow-up service quality control questionnaire - fyi i lost a tire due to the lug nut incident - they accepted no blame and downplayed the seriousness of what could have happened... And were not at all concerned that they were loosing a customer and would be getting negative feedback. Things must be going very well for Charlie Daher and Commonwealth Motors to throw away loyal customers like they did my husband and I.

This team was simply fantastic. They were straight to the point and stuck to the same story from the beginning when I started shopping. Other dealers kept trying to come down with the price a 100$ here and a 100$ there while this team gave me over e-mail the best offer from the very beginning. Also, Devon realized we had young kids so he delivered the car to our house 30 miles away from the dealership. Highly recommended and nice and easy experience!

This dealership brought a new meaning to customer service! Jonathan couldn't have been more helpful and took much of his time during the day to make sure I knew everything about the vehicle I was purchasing. During the purchasing part of the car, Ron went over every detail to ensure I understood all aspects of the purchase. Both of these employees took so much time to go over every aspect of the vehicle, I actually felt at ease with such a big purchase. While I am not one to pay much attention to advertising, or take slogans seriously, Commonwealth can truly stand behind their "shop us last" moniker. I had made the rounds at several dealers, so by the time I called them I knew exactly what I was looking for. My first contact was with Josh on the phone who was remarkably candid and did not seem at all like a slippery sales guy. I soon was talking to Dennis and we were able to reach a tentative agreement over the phone- which no other dealers would do. When I arrived in person Jeff was great at highlighting product features and more importantly at helping me structure the deal to fit my numbers. Their was never any glossy sales pitch. The sales managers Dennis and Steve worked hard to track down my car and never tried to try any tactics I've seen at other dealers with last minute fees and costs to pad the bottom line. At delivery Jeff was thorough and knowledgable in his demonstration of the car's features and controls. I would encourage anyone shopping for a VW to buy at Commonwealth. (Or Honda, Nissan, Chevy etc as I would expect those stores are similarly managed)

Devon was exceptionally polite, articulately answered all our questions honestly and could not have been more patient. I had just purchased a car 7 months earlier, a VW Beetle from Commonwealth that I loved. There was nothing wrong with the car itself, it was just me and some quirky personal issues you don' t realize about a car until you own it and drive it every day. The biggest issue was space. I discovered that I really wanted 4 doors, not 2 and found I needed more trunk room. I hated letting go of my sporty, pin- striped Beetle.However, after taking us on a test ride, talking out all our options with us and keeping his sense of humor about my indecisiveness, I finally made my decision after what must have seemed - to Devon - as the longest three hours of his life.I love my new Jetta with 4 doors and a bigger trunk! People buy cars for very different reasons, quirky and all, so my personal thanks to you, Devon for sticking with me!!!! I never had a vanity plate before, but thought why not? I will stop by and maybe you can come out for a run in my new RED-RYDThanks again, and look forward to seeing what you have put together for my accessory package options! We took our 2010 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI in for its' 40,000 service. They couldn't have been nicer - we chose not to have the oil change since it had only been 5,000 miles since the last change. They called when they found a dent in the rim of one of the tires and said that if they rotated the tires, there might be a shimmy. We opted not to repair it on this visit and they were helpful with that decision. They apologized for the cost of the service, but we understood that this was one of the more major service visits. While we had not bought our car from Commonwealth, they couldn't have been nicer to my husband. Thank you.

I came to Commonwealth Volkswagen to take a look at a car they had posted on a website. I had absolutely no intentions of buying the car, at least not at that moment. However, Andrew made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked through the door. He was extremely professional and friendly. Needles to say, I looked no further, I bought the car and I am loving it! Prior to stopping at Commonwealth VW, we stopped at another VW dealership nearby. We were immediately swarmed on by a salesperson that we did not care for at all. He followed us around & tried to influence us to purchase any of the cars that we looked at; even ones that we weren't looking at. We couldn't get out of there quick enough!When we arrived at Commonwealth VW, we were greeted by a young enthusiastic sales person named Devon Pearse. He politely gave us his name, asked what vehicle we were interested in, & allowed us to go about our shopping without 'hounding' us. He stayed in the background & was within reach when we had questions. We took several vehicles out for a test drive & were informed of not only each of the vehicles, but the dealership & the Volkswagen Company as a whole. We actually enjoyed the day there & were pleased with the final purchase price of the vehicle. They don't play sales games & were pleasant to work with. The best point made was when I told Devon earlier in our conversations that there was a feature that I didn't like on the vehicle remote. He remembered this & had it changed for me so when we picked up our new vehicle, I was pleasantly surprised that he actually listened & followed up on it. I would not hesitate to return to this dealership; they are the best in the area!

I walked into the Commonwealth Volkswagen dealership looking to information and specifications on the Tiguan. Josh Palmieri took the time to explain and answer all my questions. After reviewing my options, I decided that the best route for me was a used vehicle. There were two on the lot and Josh had me drive one (2010 model). After the test drive, I decided I would like this type of vehicle. Both vehicles were very similar, but I decided to purchase the other (2009 model). I asked Josh if I could drive this model before I actually decided to purchase. He never hesitated for a moment to allow this even though it was later on a Saturday evening and the dealership was technically closed.While on the test drive, Ron Rondeau, the business manager, was very pro-active in determining whether or not I could even get financing. This saved time for both me as the consumer and your staff. I was very impressed with this action.I must say that Josh and Ron were very courteous. Josh knew his product and Ron certainly knows the ins and outs of finance.My experience at Commonwealth Volkswagen was extremely positive and I would recommend your dealership and these two employees to others.

I had another great experience at Commonwealth Volkswagen this past President's Day. I traded in my leased Honda Pilot for a 2013 Volkswagen Passat. I just purchased a Tiguan from Jonathan Crotty. This is my second car I've purchased from Volkswagen. I mainly came back to this dealership for the excellent service I have been receiving for the past four years, especially from Sam Oliver. No matter when I want an appointment, the service department always accommodates me. They continually update me on when parts of my car will need replacement, always giving me notice so that I can plan ahead. The shop is beautifully set-up with coffee and snacks and a large screen television while you wait. Shuttle service to and from the Lawrence train station is a wonderful convenience when I leave my car during the week. It's a great dealership with a wonderful staff of people to assist you with any questions you have. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new or used car.

Everything this dealership said they could do they did and more. Our sales associate Jeffrey was knowledgable, friendy and able to answer all questions. Steve and Ron were also the ultimate professionals. This is our first experience with Commonwealth and will not only come back but will absolutely tell our friends and family about our positive experience. I went into commonwealth VW to take a look at the new volkswagen jetta. I was instantly greeted by Jeffrey Mercedes. From the start I told him I wasn't ready to buy his responds was ,"I understand, I'm not just here to sell you a car; I'm also here to help with your search and hopefully narrow things down." He asked me a couple questions, for example what car interested me the most along with what features that caught my intention best. Jeffrey was EXTREMELY friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable. Searched dealers for a quote for a new 2013 jetta sportswagon TDI. Commonwealth came back with the best quote. $1200 better than the original dealer I was working with. When I visited the dealership, they honored the quote with no questions asked even after it was clear they did not have the exact color we wanted and need to bring it in from out of state. Additionally they offered us 40% more on the trade than the orignal dealer. The transaction went thru very smoothly and there were no suprises. I would recommend everyone to try them last for the best price and service.

I hate buying cars...period. I don't like the process and especially the payments. However owning a vehicle is a necessity and occasionally needs to be done.I purchased a Pre-Owned 2004 Jeep Liberty from Josh at Commonwealth Motors. I did not shop them last. I shopped them first. A week before I used their shopuslast.com website to see what cars they had available in my price range and decided on the Jeep Liberty.I was not expecting a pleasurable experience, but Josh, Ron, and the rest of the staff I met were friendly, knowledgeable, and very professional. The weather was very inclimate; and although I was the only customer that morning, there was never any pressure.The jeep was imaculte. It looked as it it just came off a showroom. My hats off to the people who cleaned and detailed it. On the test drive Josh pointed out the features of the car, but didn't made me feel like it was a test drive...more like a drive to the store.I got a a fair price on my trade-in and I fair price on the Jeep.I financed the Jeep through Commonwealth Motors. Since the Jeep is a 2004, Ron went the extra mile to obtain the financing I wanted to get me in my price range. Josh took care of the registry and insurance business. All I needed to do was come back the following day and pick it up.On the whole a very nice, unstressful, and efficient experience.I would shop them first again

I received a tremendous amount of unbiased information about various vehicles. And in the end, I got a vehicle that I am excited to own and hat cost me less than I thought it would. I received a courtesy pick up from Commonwealth for my company car. Having never driven the CC before, this dealership took the time to walk me through the features of the car, take a quick trip w. me on the road to make sure that I understood everything about the car to insure that I was fine when I left.What great service I received even though all they got was a delivery fee. Based on my experience yesterday w. We were concerned about bringing the boys to the dealership during the signing process because we knew that they were a handful. We really appreciated that Commonwealth is a family friendly environment and we were never made to feel that the boys were a nuisance. We appreciated the love and concern that the staff, Jeffrey in particular, showed the boys.Ron Rondeau. Ron is a very intense professional (definitely type A personality) but he also showed us a lot of heart and compassion. We appreciated his efforts to get us a credit approval with Volkswagen even though our credit was less than stellar. He also explained the lease contract very carefully and we felt confident that we were entering into a lease agreement with our eyes wide open. This is the first time that we have ever leased vehicles and based upon our experience, we will definitely do it again. Ron also passed the toughest test-- my son Francesco loved to be in his office. Children are like dogs-- they can sense whether a person is good or not. Francesco's love of Ron communicated to me that Ron is a good soul.Dennis Millman. Dennis should teach a course on how to provide service. He always greeted us with a smile and always offered his assistance. His most critical contribution was giving balloons to my boys (how did Dennis know that balloons are our sons' favorite toys?) He also shared his story about how he and his wife were expecting twins. That was a common theme that we experienced at Commonwealth-- the staff was always finding ways to provide a human connection and to make us feel welcomed.Joshua Palmieri. Joshua reminds me of Ron Howard from the Andy Griffin Show and Happy Days: He brings a small town warmth with a wonderful sense of professionalism. Joshua assisted us in the last leg of the lease process by helping us get inspection stickers and provide additional information about the car. We appreciated his help in removing the cheesy white Commonwealth stickers and replacing them with the groovy silver plastic logos. Having a warm and smiling face at the conclusion of our experience meant a lot.As we stated before, Commonwealth Motors will be our car dealership for life. We forgot to mention a very important story. This is our SECOND great experience with Commonwealth Motors. In 2008 my wife went into early labor and she was pregnant with triplets. Because of the premature birth, we lost our girl and the two boys stayed in the neonatal intensive care unit for almost five months. We had to declare bankruptcy in 2010 because of the accumulated bills that our health insurance did not cover. We really appreciated that Commonwealth Motors was the ONLY dealership that gave us a fair deal on a loan for a 2011 Chevy Equinox. We had returned to Commonwealth Motors because we appreciated the staff's professionalism and most importantly their compassion.In the end, we should thank Mr. Charles Daher for building a truly great American company.

Truly I would rather do about a thousand other things than go out and buy a car, but since they don't fall out of the sky and land in your driveway for the taking, well then it needs to be done. So, considering that I do not enjoy the experience in general, we indeed had a great experience w/our sales person Josh and Sam who went over the financing end of things. Our family went into commonwealth Nissan originally looking to test drive cars to figure out which would be the best for our family. On our way in, we were greeted by Victor. We talked about what we were looking for and went on some test drives. Both were nice vehicles, but we decided to go to Volkswagen and try out a passat. Victor was so patient and helpful! We were shopping with two children and Victor made it a point to be courteous and friendly to both of them! Long story short, we got a passat that night. On the way home my husband and I agreed that he was by the nicest car salesman we had ever met! Victor keep up the good work, we will be back!

The financial person I dealt with was not very positive about the VW brand. I know he was trying to sell me an extended warranty however he told me that VW cars only fall in the middle of the ranking for reliability. He quoted Honda and Lexus (which Commonwealth doesn't even sell) as the most reliable cars out there. I told him that it was not good salesmanship to put doubt into the mind of a person who is about to buy a car.

We started by contacting this dealer online to first get some information regarding a specific car in mind. They were the first to respond and answer all of my questions via email/phone. When we walked into the dealer Josh was there to answer all of our questions and concerns and walked us through the leasing process. We were able to pick the car up within a few days and he then took about 20mins to explain all of the aspects of the car in detail and how to work all the accesories. We were very happy and satisfied customers and will be returning for futher purchases.

Left another local dealership/service center after years of faithful service because I was unhappy with the service. My family and I have bought 12 cars from that dealership in the last 12 years and they did not seem to value our longevity as customers. Was recommended to go to Commonwealth by a friend and had nothing but an amazing experience working with Riggie. He was able to find 4 RECALLS that I was never informed about with my other dealer, and took my long list of complaints and worked through them one by one. I still have some work that needs to be done that I have to get approved through VW themselves (as it was work that was complained about before the warranty was up but was never taken care of by the original dealer) but every single item Riggie was able to help me with, he did. I look forward to a new, long-standing relationship with this dealer and hope to bring my family's business here as well for future vehicle purchases.

I was very pleased with the customer service,it was a warm,friendly environment.I laughed a bunch with Cory and Dennis. Even though I was the last customer of the day and went an hour before closing, I wasn't pressured into anything. I was made to feel like I had all the time in the world. I have been shopping for a vehicle for the last few months and left those dealerships with uncertainties. It was a spurr and of the moment decision to go to commonwealth. On a Tuesday afternoon I made an appointment to have my GTI serviced on Wednesday - they were able to fit me in no problem.Arrived early a.m., and was promptly (very promptly) given a complementary ride to my office. Very friendly and courteous driver.Problem with my vehicle was a malfunctioning fan blower assembly. Turns out it was under warranty. Was updated on the status just after lunch time; vehicle was ready to go. Techician ran a scan to see if any service was needed per manufacturer. It was suggested that the DSG be serviced due to age and mileage. NO PRESSURE to perform service - simply was given the manufacturer recommendation. I decided to have it serviced.Car was ready by 5pm same day. I needed a ride back to the shop, so the shuttle came to get me. Was actually WAITING for me. Another very courteous and friendly driver picked me up.Back at the shop, an attenedant escorted me to the cashier, and walked me through each item on my bill.Am very satisfied, and would recommend Commonwealth to anyone owning a VW. Looked at several different car brands and liked the new Passat after a visit to Commonwealth VW we came to terms on a SE model Passat. But had some second thoughts when we got home based on a test drive Josh had suggested of the new Volkswagen CC which we really liked but thought it was a little more than we wanted to spend. Called Josh the next day and let him know what we were thinking he asked us to come back in and see what he could do. We ended up leasing the CC which we could not be happier with, right within our budget.

On July 29th, 2011 while stopped in traffic I was on the receiving end of a hit-and-run collision totaling my 2007 Nissan Versa. The driver stayed on the scene just long enough to see me stumble from the car to pull my then five week old daughter from the car. The Versa may not have been much of a car but it was paid for, and due to day car bills on the pending horizon I didnt go willingly into the new car process. By the time I had made it through the mountains of insurance paperwork and did my due diligence my checking out other makes and models, my last nerve had indeed become frayed from other lots desperately trying to put me into cars I had no interest in. Upon entering into Commonwealth Motors VW, I was greeted by Mark Mathurin who took the time out to listen to my story and just let me go at my own pace. When I expressed an interest in the the VW Golfs Marks sales pitch was based around the safety of the car, tailored impressively to my hot button issues. When a fair price was offered for a 2011 Golf, which had to be brought into the lot, I signed ready to close the deal. Not having a credit card or check in hand for a deposit Mark allowed my wife and I to take the test drive car (a 2012 Golf) off the lot and back to Georgetown to pick up a check. Given the limited availabilities of the 2011 Golfs (in August of 2011) and my limited remaining days with my insurance rental when it was determined getting me into a 2012 Golf was going to be easier for everyone involved Dennis the sales manager on duty (it was Marks off day) renegotiated the deal accordingly.Ultimately the sales cycle is a fluid one. If I good car dealer can be judged by customer satisfaction then a GREAT ONE can be judged by their actions when everything doesnt go exactly to plan. If all of the other Commonwealth lots are like Commonwealth VW, then Commonwealth Motors is a great dealership.

I went into Commonwealth Volkswagen in the hopes of leasing a 2011 Jetta. I put down a security deposit and signed the paperwork. I shook the employees hand, rang the bell and was on my way. After a few days went by I got a call that Volkswagen was having a hard time approving me. So I got all the necessary paperwork for them to continue the process. After another few days went by I got a call to come down because they had some other options for me. I was told that Nissan would be willing to work with me to get into a Fully Loaded Nissan Sentra. After a few more days went by I got the call to come down and get my car. When I arrived a Nissan Versus was parked out front. And I was told that this was the car they were willing to give me.(This was after waiting 3 weeks to get an answer) I took the paperwork home to have my father look at it. I never asked for the Versus nor the Sentra. I wanted the Jetta and that is the only car and deal that I signed for. My father went down to the dealership to get my security deposit back on the Jetta and they are not willing to give it back to me. They were extremely rude to my father and this is all over a couple hundred dollars. I will NEVER go back to Commonwealth because I believe they did the bait and switch on me. I cannot believe that they are causing all of this over a couple hundred dollars that means nothing to them but a lot to me. They also kept checking my credit score to see what other dealerships I was shopping with. I kept with Commonwealth the entire time until they were only willing to "give me" a Nissan Versus. I understand that they can check my credit score..HOWEVER..They kept checking my credit score after my Father went down to get my security deposit back.

Josh took the time on a very busy weekend to answer all our questions and let me test drive multiple models making sure I was happy with my 2011 Jetta S. I was very impressed with the after purchase follow up. You are not forgotten once you sign the sales agreement. The experience at Commonwealth was highly professional. I did not feel pressured to buy and back many time to look and browse. Once I made the decision to buy I was greeted by Cory at the door. He took lots of time to answer all my questions, we went for several rides then I decided on the Jetta TDI. Cory was new at the job by only one week but surprised me with his knowledge of the car and the technical aspects. Additionally, if he could not answer a question he would take the time to find out and was open and honest with his answers.I was also given a tour of the repair facilities and told of the process that I would follow when service is required. It was a very hard decision to trade in our truck and wanted a fair trade in value. Both Jeff and the business manager worked very hard on getting us into the vehicle we wanted, keeping our payment within the range that worked for us and for getting us a fair trade value on our truck. I bought a new 2011 Jetta S from Commonwealth. I dealt with Joshua when purchasing the car. He was great, very friendly and well informed. He got me exactly the price that I asked for and I never felt pressured to sign right away. The only complaint that I have is that I spent a long time in the finance department waiting for them to make photo copies of my paperwork. When I first walked into Commonwealth motors Josh was there to greet me...He worked really hard on finding out what I wanted and what kind of car was important to me as well as what features I wanted.He wasnt pushy at all. Like most care salesman. One thing about Josh that stuck out among many things is that if Josh didnt know the answer he said he didnt know but would find out and that is what he did. My mother along with my friend pointed that out. Josh called me but not to much to see how things were going. I thought Josh was a good saleman that I called a friend up the day when I bought a VW and she came down that night and bought a Honda accord.....Two cars sold in one night says something!!!!!!

I am happy with my new leased Jetta. Ed found the color I was looking for and he made it easy to close the deal. I am appreciative of the no money down offer. I am also glad that Commonwealth took care of the "running" part of purchasing a car. I did not have to go to my insurance company or the MA Registry during the snowstorm!

commonwealth motors' starting price was lower than the partially negotiated prices we had encountered at another dealership. Josh, the sales associated, was friendly, not pushy, affable and quite available. On the day we took possession of the car, he even picked me up at the train station.The finance guy, bobby b., was efficient and incredibly helpful. He matched the best rate we found on the outside, then lowered it by 0.5% in the course of negotiations. he handled all the insurance, plates, inspection issues with narry a hitch. a real professional.

Recently I visited Commonwealth VW and spoke with a friendly Salesman named Jeff, He WOWed me from the start. Jeff took the time to listen to me and what I was interested in. He then took the time in the freezing cold to show me a couple of the cars I was looking at. After earning my trust he recommended the VW CC to me. I took this for a drive and fell in love with it. It was fast, comfortable and stylish. Jeff took me through the number process and introduced me to his manager. Once we decided on a fair price I had told the sales manager that I was a little pressed for time. I have never had a dealership respond to my needs so much. The sales manager and Jeff got me through to finance and out very quickly. The delivery went well and they ensured the car was pristine before I picked it up. I would recommend anyone to buy from Commonwealth. I am 29 years old and have owned over 40 cars. more than 5 new and have never had this type of treatment at a dealership before.Thank you Jeff and Thank you Commonwealth.

When I brought my vehicle in for it's 5000 mile service Marc explained what was going to be done and what the cost would be. I explained that I had a $10 coupon and a 10% coupon and Marc accepted the $10 coupon. I also explained that I had a problem with my directional light performance as well as the CD hanging with the display saying "WAITING" instead of playing the CD. Marc had them check the directionals (found nothing wrong) because when I brought the car in they were now working correctly. He also explained that they were ordering a replacement radio/cd player to replace the current one that was not functioning correctly. Marc told me that they would call me when they received the new radio/cd. My cost was just for the 5000 mile OIL CHANGE. Lamar has stopped by the two times I have had the car in for service and made sure that everything was acceptable to me. Lamar is the salesperson that sold me the car and I would recommend anyone wanting to buy a car to see him for a very good deal and a very pleasant experience buying a car. In the past year this is the second car that I have purchased from Lamar and Commonwealth Motors. I would and will recommend this dealership to anyone.

I made an appointment to have my car looked at after having $650.00 worth of work the previous week . It was not sounding right I thought it may be related. The appointment was for a thursday morning for me to drop off, I was told I would receive a call before any work would be performed. Saturday morning I called and my car had not been looked at YET. Finally on Monday my car was looked at and diagnosed!I find this unexceptable, the week befor they had my car for a week as well. I am NOT happy with this service at all.Brenda

I was given quick, friendly service, the services advisor was thorough in telling me what service will be done and how long it would take. Answered all my ?'s thoroughly. Also suggested a way I could obtain a rebate on wipers I needed. Didn't pressure me to get any service done I did not need.

Everyone at the dealership was extremely helpful and friendly. I asked them to hold a vehicle for me because we were closing on a house later that month. They complied with no issues. Dealer understands the uniqueness of VW buyers and thinks about long term relationship rather than fast sales. As with all car dealers negotiating the final price is never fun. This dealer was better than most but paying a fair price for a car is still hard work.

Everyone I spoke with at Commonwealth Volkswagen was very friendly and extremely helpful. Each employee discussed features of the car in great detail and did a fantastic job answering all of my questions. I particularly appreciated the employees dedication in seeing that my questions were answered as thoroughly as possible. Unlike my experience with salespeople at other dealerships, I never felt pressured to buy on the spot. At Commonwealth, the employees presented me with a large amount of information about the vehicle in order for me to make an educated decision. I also appreciated the salespersons patience and willingness to discuss financing options. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Commonwealth Volkswagen and would recommend the dealership to anyone interested in buying a new car.

Both Dennis and Jim were polite, pleasant, honest and caring. We couldn't have been treated better anywhere else.We have never been treated as well anywhere else. They wanted our business and worked very hard, but politelyto earn it.We purchased one vehicle for our daughter, and were so pleased with the price, quality of the vehicle, and treatment from Dennis and Jim, that we went back and leased a new vehicle for ourselves.Both our daughter, as well as ourselves love the VW CC Sport, and the Kourag. Just bought a 2010 VW Tiguan at Commonwealth Motors in Lawrence-Class Act Operation! My Rep Nick Tziolis went out of his way to get me the vehicle I wanted. I felt I paid a fair price after visiting several other dealerships. Spent some time in and around the various showrooms -very professional, and while in the customer service lounge area I watched a movie on their flat screen tv-cool! Overheard customers talking about how convenient their "taxi" service was for folks who had to get to work while their cars were being serviced. Just received a "Happy Birthday" voicemail from the dealership-nice touch.

Nick and his sales manager, Dennis Millman, went well beyond the call to help me in my effort to obtain a Golf Diesel TDI. I am the President of an environmental organization,am extremely disturbed by the oil disaster in the Gulf. Nick personally drove 60 or more miles to help obtain the license plate for the new car. Dennis put together a competitive offer to help me out of a prior lease. I will return to these two when I or members of my family are looking for a safe and green automobile. These guys are sleezy.I anticipate being in the new car market in about a year and will be buying a VW, but over the weekend heard a radio spot advertising new TDI's in the mid $16s! I called to confirm, was told that they're only available at that price if theyre on the lot, so I asked the salesman to check. He told me that he had a TDI Golf for $16599 and a GTI that he could get me in for under $17000. A couple days later I called to confirm that those cars were available at those prices, and Dennis the sales manager confirmed that they were.Ill skip the details, but basically I went to the dealership with cash in hand, but was told that those cars are only available at prices mentioned if I lease for some $510 per month with a couple thousand down. Dennis apologized for the mis-understanding, ie, his lying to me on the phone, but still had the audacity to push a pre-owned car more in my price range even as I was calling him out on his lies.This s about the slipperiest dealer Ive ever dealt with, and at the moment I wouldnt take a car from them if they gave it to me.

Jim Stratz and others at Commonwealth made buying a new Volkswagen a very easy and pleasant, pressure-free experience. They either had the answers or very quickly obtained the answers to all of my questions. In addition, they took care of all the paperwork, I didn't have to do anything except sign my name, give them a check, and notify my insurance company. They took care of trips to the Registry of Motor Vehicles and my insurance agent, and payment of the sales tax. Even the price, while not the lowest I perhaps could have negotiated, seemed to be a good fair deal. So far in my life, I have purchased at least 13 new automobiles (11 of them Volkswagens), and this experience was the best, by a wide margin. I have been bringing both of my Volkswagens to their shop for regular service, and a couple of major repairs, ever since they obtained the Volkswagen franchise several years ago. I have always been treated very well, and the quality of their service work has been top-notch. I highly recommend the Commonwealth Volkswagen dealership.

I walked into this dealership after having a negative experience with another one. I was 7 months pregnant, losing my patience and running out of time to get my vehicle. I called the dealership at 5:45, explained my situation, and Daniel (the manager) made an appointment to meet with me right away. I had bought my car by 7:15pm. It was one of the least painful car buying experiences I've ever had, and it was evident that they were going out of their way to respect my time and my budget. Excellent customer service.

The salesman and other staff were very courteous and accommodating. They responded to my voice mails in a timely manner. They were able to match the price of a vehicle I had seen at another dealership that was lower than their sticker price. They had to search for the vehicle I wanted and found one.

I recently purchased a new golf TDI from Commonmwealth, and my overall experience was great! As a first time car buyer I was reffered to them by family members, who have had great experience doing business there in the past. Long story short Nick, Jim, and Dennis worked with me and got me exactly what I was looking for within my price range. I feel that everyone was honest and extremely upfront with regard to the entire transaction. The entire staff I dealt with at the dealership was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend Commonwealth Motors to anyone.

Best Dealership to be at. First day I went there I was greeted by numerous VW personals and was offered coffee/water and cookies. Then sat down and explained what I was looking for as far as the type of car and price. I was then explained all of the options of the car as far as payment options for lease and buy. I worked with Dennis Millman and Jim Stretch and they helped me get the price and the type of car I was looking for. I have never been treated as nicely before at any other dealer. Most dealers put so much pressure of the buyer that it makes you feel uncomfortable and not want to buy anything but this wasnt the case at Commonwealth VW. Dennis and Jim treated me with care and patient as I understood the purchasing and leasing process of a new car.Commonwealth Volkswagen went over and beyond to make sure I got exactly what I went there for. They processed the paper work quickly and before I knew it I was on my way home with my new 2010 CC.Thank you

I have had good luck with Commonwealth Motors. I like that they check to make sure that there are no recalls on the vehicle and they give me options. If they give you shuttle rides and rentals if you need them. They always fix it right the first time.

We visited a lot of dealerships as I was looking at three different models. Once I decided exactly what I wanted - VW EOS Lux, I then went to 3 or 4 VW dealerships. Everyone at Commonwealth was great and Jim was awesome. (I had been ready to purchase a car two days before at another local dealership but the salesman there was so obnoxious I took my checkbook (and my husband) and walked out). No pressure from Jim or anyone else at Commonwealth, everyone was very nice; it appeared that everyone there liked working there too which says a lot. They did not have the car I wanted on the lot but said it was not a big deal, they could certainly find me one....and did, within just a few minutes. I think I am going to be very happy dealing with them.

I went to Commonwealth Motors specifically because they had multiple types of car brands. I went to look not sure on buying or brand yet. Keith was friendly, able to relate well, patient, and versed in all brands and models on the lot. I initially went to the Kia dealership where he was stationed that day. When I didn't find what I was looking for he brought me over to Volkswagen in the pouring rain and hail he was a trooper. I was going to buy a used car, he actually found me a car that was brand new and a great deal. I didn't intend to but I bought on the spot. I love my Jetta and we got a great rate and within the monthly payment I had set before I walked onto the lot. Keith kept his word all the way. I feel good about my decision.

I called in for a service appointment and was given the option of that afternoon. I drove right into the shop (very cool:) and was greeted immediately by Marc and Jim at the service desk. I brought my Passat in for a 60,000 mile service and was told it would be about 2 hours. After about an hour, Jim came out and told me that my rear brakes were getting very low and recommended changing them. I suspected that they needed to be since I had never changed them, but had to pick up my son from school and couldn't wait another 2 hours. They offered to rent me a car (at no cost to me!!) and assured me I could come back the next day and pick up my car. I returned the next day to a completed and cleaned car. There are VW dealers closer to my house in NH, but Commonwealth has won my business!

I would have to say my experience at this dealership was outstanding. I was looking into leasing a new Jetta. My lease was due and I was really interested in the TDI model, obviously for its great gas mileage. I worked with Dennis and David, they were both very nice and extremely informative.David was very laid back and never made me feel uncomfortable. He took the time to answer my questions and knew a lot about the car. They had a huge selection and I was able to find the exact car I wanted. Dennis the Manager was very easy-going and gave me what I consider to be a very fair deal. I was able to get a better payment than my last lease!BTW: Their service department is a HUGE upgrade from what the old Amesbury store offered.All in all I feel that I was treated fairly and got a great deal. No nonsence and a professional atmosphere.

By far the best dealership in the state. My friend bought a new gti turbo last month at Atamian and swears it was the absolute worst experience she has ever had. She wanted to have a sunroof put in and decided to go through commonwealth. She raved so much about ever aspect of the dealership and said I should go since I have been looking at the new CC. Well I inquired online Wed night and Thursday morning Jim Volpe called me with all of the information I requested. He was incredibly knowledgable and set up an appointment for me test drive. When I arrived Jim was ready and walked me through the different models. He was very patient and let me test drive 2 models. The dealership was about to close so I said I would return the following evening, but Jim told me not to worry and that he would stay with me as long as I would like. Its so rare to see such exceptional customer service that I chose to buy the vehicle on the spot. I signed the paperwork the next day and had my car in time for the weekend!! I had a great experience and would reccommend Commonwealth to anyone. My friend couldnt believe what a deal I got. What happened next I couldn't believe. Monday, after a weekend of enjoying my new car, I got home to a box of delicious gourmet cookies as a thank you from Commonwealth for purchasing a car. It was so nice! They really appreciated my business. A week later I received a note from Commonwealth that a donation had been made in my name to Dana Farber!!! My friend thought I was making it up, until I showed her. No one has that kind of follow up and sincere gratitude for business anymore. I was overwhelmed at what a great dealership Commonwealth was. I purchased a new 2009 VW Jetta from Commonwealth in Oct 2008. At 5,200 miles I took the car in for an oil change. After the service was complete, the dealer offered to wash the car for me at no charge. I agreed.Two days later while fueling my vehicle I noticed moderate to server scratches on the front bumper, hood, right front fender, roof, both right doors, right rear fender, trunk and rear bumper. I promptly took the car back to the dealer to show them the damage that was caused by their car wash. The service manager informed me that they had a 'touchless' car wash and there was no way this damage could have happened in their facility. But he offered to fix the scratches at no cost to me.Being somewhat suspicious as to why he was offering to fix damages that Commonwealth motors did not cause, I began to snoop around. I went to the back of one of the buildings and found two non-english speaking men washing cars with brooms!! I confronted the General Manager, Brian Hess, with this information and photos, to which he denied any knowledge of this activity. Two days later I brought the car back to Commonwealth so they could attempt to buff out the scratches from the 'touchless' car wash. When I picked up the car that evening, not only were the scratches not gone, but the car was now covered with swirl marks from the buffer!I again confronted the GM Brian Hess with this latest development. This time he was quite rude basically stating they did the best they could, but he would paint the car if necessary. I told him that I did not want to paint a car with only 5k miles on it as it would lower the re-sale value and I did not trust the competency of his dealership.

I took my car in for warrantee service, since the dealership is close by. The service was fine, but I made the mistake of contacting them by email. I've received no less than 6 email solicitations to sell me a car and 1 phone call. One email from them was comical - there were blanks in the form letter for the type of vehicle and proposed price.I simply took the car to them for service, I never set foot in the sales room.I even went so far as to email the owner/manager and tell them their sales department was inept. I got no response from the owner manager plus additional email about buying from them after complaining. I ended up putting a block on their domain name and dumping any further communication straight to the trash.Avoid giving these people any contact info which could be reused.

I have been trying to get a Jetta TDI for the past 6 weeks. My preferred dealer still had a waiting list, so I tried Commonwealth who appeared to have vehicles in stock. I called and set up a time to visit. The salesman didn't pick up my cues that I already knew I wanted the car and was familiar with it's features. We burned time waiting for the car to be pulled into the service bay and then he insisted on going over all of the features. I said I didn't need a test drive, but he made me do one anyway. Then, back in showroom, the high pressure game began. Before we worked out any numbers and or financing options, he was pushing for my credit card for a deposit. Then there was the back and forth game with "deals" with Dennis the sales manager as tried work and rework numbers. Despite my saying that I wanted to think on it overnight, they wouldn't back off, keeping on with comments about what can we do to do the deal today. Finally, I extracted myself.The experience put me off of the Jetta altogether and returned me to the comfort of Audi. I came home, called the local Audi dealer and leased what will be my 4th Audi, finalizing the details in less than 15 minutes on the phone.The next day, the salesman called me and I told him that I wasn't interested and that I had come home the previous night and bought an Audi. Five minutes later, Dennis, the sales manager, calls, keeping up the high pressure, not seeming to understand that I made my decision.They seem to try to compete on price. Honestly, I'll pay a few bucks more than have to deal with those kind of old fashioned high pressure tactics.

I was lookng for a new 2008 New Beetle Coupe and after doing a test drive locally sent out e-mails to all the Volkswagen dealers within a reasonable distance to get prices. Jim Volpe of Commonwealth VW in Lawrence sent me a reply e-mail giving me a crazy price of around $3,000 below invoice and telling me they had the vehicle in stock. I called and spoke to him and asked if that price was for real and if I went to Lawrence could I actually get that price. He said yes. I asked if they had the car on the lot and he said they had a couple. I drove to Lawrence, 45 minutes whee!, and got there. They had no 2008 models in stock. The salesman who got stuck with me was named Juan and he was one of only two good things about my Commonwealth experience. Juan was super-nice, and I feel bad that he's stuck working for such a dirty (ethically, not physically) place. I would have liked to have bought a car from Juan just to help him out. Anyway, I went for another test drive and then met with Dennis the sales manager to negotiate. In order for me to get the price Jim Volpe quoted me I would need to a diplomat who was recently obtained one or possibly two post-graduate degrees. Seriously. Dennis refused to admit I had been lied to when told that was the price I could get. Dennis was also just a general used-car salesman stereotype. For example, when I told him I had driven the car in Medford and wanted to see if they could beat his price he offered to call and talk to him. Then he called the dealership, got a random salesperson (who happened to be my salesperson and who I liked) gave a false name and asked for a price without bothering to tell them I was there or he was calling from a rival dealership or in any way doing anything constructive. Pretty insulting to my intelligence. Anyway, to make a too-long already story slightly shorter I left after three hours, went to Medford the next day and got a price $1500 cheaper than the lowest price I was offered when I left Lawrence. Overall my experience was entirely unpleasant except for Juan whom I sincerely hopes moves onto a better place soon.
