I drove an hour and half to look at a 2013 jetta at a very good price! Steve and his family were very nice and helpful. The purchase of the car was fast, effcient and they were not pushy. The drive was worth it! I LOVE MY JETTA!!

After much looking around at local dealerships and high profile "national used car outlets", my wife and I drove an hour and ten minutes to Countryside, on the advice of a friend. She will be forever in our debt, because this car buying experience was the easiest and most enjoyable one we've ever had! A very diverse inventory, but heavy on late model VW's, which is exactly what we were searching for. Family owned and run by good, honest people, this place is easy to find and well worth the scenic drive. As a former new and used car salesman myself, (25 years ago), I highly recommend this dealer to everyone!

Steve and his mother were quite accommodating. I searched all over the place for VW's and ended up getting a car that he didn't even have listed on the website. He was extremely competitive on all his cars and answered all the questions I had directly and I felt without bias. Let me give you an example: for my particular car, I asked Steve if I should purchase an extended warranty. He explained that he wouldn't, based on the car and this situation. Most places would just push the extra sale onto you, but Steve leveled with me and I value that. I will send all my friends Countryside's way.

Yesterday we bought a beautiful 2013 Jetta from Caleb & his father, Steve, at Countryside Auto Sales in Fredericksburg, PA. We could not be more pleased with the entire experience, not to mention it was nice buying from a small local dealer where were treated like old friends. Although my daughter was ready for her next car, the dealership understood it was still hard to say goodbye to her first real car. My husband, daughter and I all recommend Countryside.

After a long drive yesterday, we enjoyed the afternoon talking with Caleb about one of the cars he had for sale. I can't say enough good things about our car-trading experience! As he and my husband Ken worked out the details, the other folks at Countryside made us (me and our old Sheltie-pup, Nellie) feel very welcome. It was obvious that they are people (and dog) friendly. We jokingly asked Caleb if he would consider establishing a dealership in "way-upper" NYS. His reply, "I don't like snow that much!" caused everyone a good chuckle.

This dealership was super helpful. It was my first time buying a car. They had a great selection - especially of manuals at really great prices. When I went to buy my car the notary was closed so they called all the notaries they knew and they drove me to the next notary that was available. They were super friendly and made me feel comfortable and confident with my car purchase. I would recommend all of my friends to check this dealership out.

Great people at this dealership. Communication was good anytime I would call, and ask or leave a message. They worked with me to get the car I was looking to buy, answered all the questions I had about it and gave me all the good and bad details so I could decide if I wanted it. Caleb was great and worked with me to get the car and helped to answer any of the credit unions questions. I would buy from them again and would work with them to find another car in the future.

I bought a 2002 Volkswagon Passat at Countryside Auto for my daughter to use during her sophomore through senior years at Lebanon Valley College. We are from California and have little knowledge of car dealerships in Pennsylvania. We are thrilled to have stumbled upon Countryside. This family run dealership treated us honestly and fairly. They were friendly, but not pushy, and readily forthcoming about the history of the vehicle. They provided us with 2 new tires, floor mats, and a full tank of gas upon purchase. In addition Caleb helped us work out registration of the vehicle in California as my daughter is a student and not an official PA resident. My only complaint, and it is a small one, is that the inside of the car did not receive the same kind of attention as the outside when it was cleaned for us to take off the lot. The dashboard was very dusty, and the doors and insides of the windows had not been wiped cleaned to match the sparkling exterior. Still, mechanically the car was in great shape. All in all it was a great experience and we love our new car! Thanks Countryside.

I was looking for a reliable car for my daughter and found several that she liked at Countryside Auto. From the time we arrived until the process was completed, Steve and his family were nothing short of fantastic! No pushy sales tactics or inflated prices that you might find at many other places, just great communication, fair prices and excellent service. I highly recommend Countryside Auto to anyone looking for a good car buying experience at fair prices. I will most definitely be a return customer.

Recently bought a 2011 VW Jetta from here and couldn't be happier. Caleb was incredibly helpful and friendly all throughout the process without being pushy. He just wanted to be sure that we got the car we wanted. Had a few questions about the car after the purchase and Caleb was great about staying in touch and assisting in any way he could.

I live locally here and my brother went to look at a car here. As I was walking around I saw a really nice Focus that I liked for a good price. But they were closed and I was leaving on a trip the next day. I called them up and worked out a deal. They didn't come down much because they list their cars close to their selling price. So expect to pay close to listed price. They held it for a week for me without any down payment. When I showed up to buy it they sent me across the street to a notary. They didn't have the title so I had to sign power of attorney over to them to sign it for me when they got it back from the state. I was a little apprehensive but they remained true to their word and a few weeks later I got the title. I have had the car for a few months now and absolutely no issues with it. They are a honest, hard working, family owned business. They are trustworthy. 100% recommended.

This is a small, no-frills family owned dealer who has very nice cars at very good prices. We bought our daughter a car there and drove 5 hours. Great price, great car. When our next daughter was looking we found her car at Countryside as well. Happy to drive the 5 hours. Saved $$ and a great car. Steve and family are honest and provide a great car. The process to take the car out of state was 20 minutes and done! We heartily recommend this dealership!

I originally stopped in to check out a Ford Focus I found online, but I decided I didn't much like the model and browsed their lot. Caleb, the salesman, was hands-off in our decisions and was extremely helpful with any questions we had. After browsing, I tested a Fusion that I really liked but had a few issues. They took the car to a garage and got everything sorted out for me at no charge. The pricing was fair, and I could have asked for a nicer family to buy from.

We were looking for a replacement for our well maintained Town and Country Mini-van that was totaled this summer. We decided to down-size to a station wagon and were searching though VW Sport wagons, Subaru Foresters and Ford Focus Wagons on-line and then visiting a number of dealers to check out the vehicles up close. The Ford Focus we bought from Steve and Caleb was in immaculate condition and ran well but had some severe vibration issues - they had their repair shop look at it and replaced the engine mounts which made it drive perfectly. Their price was extemely fair market for the car and considering the car's exellent condition it was a great buy. While there I test drove a BMW 5-series which was more out of curiousity but after doing some research and checking out the CarFax on the vehicle decided found another great deal. Steve and Caleb were honest that they didn't know much about BMWs as it was a recent customer trade-in but were helpful in telling me as much as they could. Both vehicles have been a blessing and we recommend visiting Countryside if you're shopping for a used vehicle. Everyone at office is pleasant and friendly to work with.

Drove 3 hours from northern, Virginia. Looked at a chrysler sebring convertable didn't like it chose a ford taurus instead. Drove it home had it checked out and found a portion of the engine cradle had rusted out. . My mechanic wanted $1,200 to put a used engine craddle in. Called the owner Steve he was concerned said send pictures which I did. Called me said he would fix it free of charge. Met me half way and lent me another car when he fixed it. What other dealer would stand by you like that ? None! Best used car dealership on the east coast. Will by all my cars from countryside from now on. Note: cars are dusty in and out its a gravel lot and the office is small and crowded. Don't let the dust fool you they are quality inspected used cars. Large selection in the $ 4,000-8,000 range, no negotiations prices are firm but they great prices to begin with. They don't try to hide blemishes on their cars like most dealers. Steve and his son Caleb are great guys they are so un car salesman. I mean that as a compliment! Worth the trip from anywhere! Good HONEST people Good cars ! Bob from northern Virginia

After days of dealing with terrible, annoying, LYING car-sales-"people", Bill was such a nice change. We got a great deal on a VW Tiguan, it was simple, hassle free and we're very happy. We will never go to buy a car anywhere else - he's the only not car-sales-person that sells cars. As weird as that sounds- if you've ever been to a car dealership, you know what I mean... Top that with great prices and no BS - and you got a winner. If you're looking for a used car check him out - you won't be sorry.

I recently came across this dealership in search of a quality minivan for our growing family (up to 5 now) There was a town and country for a decent price, so I just had to check it out, despite the nearly 2 hour drive. First the good: no pressure honesty. I never buy anything, let alone a vehicle, that quickly, but I really felt they were honest people who weren't trying to rip me off or 'force me' into a lemon. I loved the no pressure sale. It IS a "Mom&Pop" style place. The AC did not work and the brakes had a minor squeak. These were promised to be fixed before I bought it! That seemed like great service. They offered a 3 month warranty and said if I had ANY problems whatsoever, just give him a call! This also felt really personal! The bad: "Mom&Pop" style honesty leaves a lot of room for improvement in professionalism. I hope this is taken as constructive criticism rather than just grouching about the sale. That guarantee to fix the AC was just to charge it, not to necessarily completely fix it (expensive fix) and the warranty does not cover this. The grandmother answers the phone and she doesn't know anything, including what is on the lot for sale. She interrupted me both times I called in, not letting me finish my question before she directed me to another number. Save the annoyance and wasted step and just publish the cell phone then? Other reviews are accurate, the cars aren't 'spotless', but it is a dirty area and they are used vehicles, with only 2 maybe 3 employees- what do you expect? However, I was told the vehicle would be cleaned til I picked it up. It was pouring that day, so the exterior looked good, but I could tell the interior was not given even a once over because the floor mats were still all crammed in the back, there was still trash littering the van, including a used soda can and a wet napkin soaking up a spill. Now, I get that dealers use their vehicles for personal use because they can and to test them out, but that was really unprofessional. And it would seem that if they use the vehicle, things like the AC not working, whether the CD player works or whether there is a spare tire included etc, should be known if the customer inquires. I felt excited about purchasing a brand new (used) car! But instead of "dressing up" the sale to make me continue to feel the excitement, my excitement was somewhat squashed seeing the state it was in (even though I realize this has no bearing on its drivablility or quality as a car- it just reflects professionalism.) Excitement was also squashed because I was hoping to work out a slight deal with the vehicle because it DID have its flaws. It was fairly well priced, and I brought cash, but not quite enough since I actually forgot about the title fee (which fortunately for them I could use a credit card or they wouldn't even have made the sale). But I've never known ANY business not to give at least a little break for a cash payment, especially to a young family buyer who has been equally honest and up front about intentions with the vehicle. When you can't guarantee the AC will continue working and the vehicle wasn't cleaned out as promised. The dealer does have to eat too, I understand that, but that wasn't rock bottom.Better a slight mark up (since you know everyone does that) and be offered a discount and pay a slightly higher price (because it psychologically it would seem cheaper) then to have a set price and be completely unbending about it. It's a used car- you know the individual is going to find disappointing things with it at home that he didn't find in the hour that he spent with it on the lot. Help him feel good about the purchase anyway- it may actually prevent him from being a pain about something minor later. There's honesty and there is professionalism. Oh, I'll take the honesty every time, but when there's too little professionalism, there's still a slightly sour taste in your mouth.

I checked out many listings online looking for a decent used small car with a manual transmission for my wife. Hard to find manual trannys anymore, but Countryside had several at reasonable prices. We bought a really nice 2005 MINI Cooper at an attractive price and my wife loves it. The folks there are pretty laid back and we enjoyed dealing with them, but the variety of reasonably priced cars was what impressed me the most. Would shop there again.

I purchased a 2004 VW Passat. 53000 miles! The car was beautiful inside and out. I went to many places before stopping here. The staff is amazing. They even stayed late to accommodate me. Which is fantastic. Full tank of gas, fresh inspection, and a six month warranty to boot. No one else offered that. No pressure from the friendly staff. My father bought his car from them 2 years prior and its still going great. I would recommend Countryside to anyone. They were very easy to work with. After test driving the vehicle I drove away with it two days later. I'm a happy customer. Easily earned five stars.

I have bought all 3 cars that I have owned from countryside. I just recently purchased a lifted F-150 and its a beast of a truck. I have nothing but good things to say about how friendly the staff there is. They made the car buying experience so easy and the price was always right. Any small problems that have come up with my vehicles were dealt with in a speedy and quality manner. I will definitely be coming back to countryside for my next car when the time comes.

I will admit the dealership was very friendly and made you feel like family. The car I bought was a lemon, I havnt driven it even 1000 miles and everything is broken. I BOUGHT A 2003 VW JETTA GLS FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE A DEAL ON THIS CAR AND USED MY 1998 PLYMOUTH BREEZE AS A TRADE FOR TAXES AND TITLE. DROVE THE CAR HOME TO LEWISTOWN PA, AND 3 DAYE LATER THE BATTERY WENT BAD. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP IF THEY WOULD HELP PAY FOR A NEW ONE. THEY E-MAILED BACK AND THEY WOULD SEND ME A $100.00 CHECK TO COVER IT. THEY SENT THE CHECK AS THEY SAID, AND IT COVERED THE COST OF A NEW BATTERY AT WALLMART. I just purchased a 2005 Saturn Vue from the team at Countryside. I appreciated their customer service and honesty from the get go. I was able to test drive, inspect, and even got a free Auto Check on the Vue. I love the car and the price I paid for it was very reasonable. I liked the selection they had and they made it easy for me to buy a vehicle from them. I was impressed that when I came to buy the vehicle they had cleaned it, immaculately. The only problem I had was that the cruise control on the Vue did not work but it's a minor issue which doesn't really bother me. Overall, a great place to purchase a vehicle.

Having bought three used cars for my kids I consider myself a veteran of the process. My 1st purchase was from Country Side in 2001. After locating a vehicle of interest on their lot, they allowed me to take it to my mechanic for a pre-buy inspection & upon returned I negotiated a purchase price. The car served us well for many years. The 2 other cars I found & bought came from other sources, as I normally have no time constraint allowing for a meticulous search routine. Last week I became aware of an out-of-state daughter in need of a replacement car on an emergent basis. With 1 day to locate a good, reliable vehicle I returned to Country Side. Before arriving on the lot I searched their website's inventory & ran Auto Check on a number of possibilities, choosing 4 to test drive. Once on the lot I explain my situation to the owner who then handed me over to his helpful son who facilitated the test drives. In that process he pointed out a '97 Buick Regal (not on my list) that he said, "Was a great car." Upon my return he had the Auto Check (very favorable) for me indicating 1 owner. I subsequently was able to negotiate a price my daughter could afford and Country Side added a six month national warranty as I was unable to have the car inspected by my garage. Lastly, thru their tag agency contacts we arranged the purchase in her name & a temporary transit tag to the destination state - excellent service! I highly recommend Country Side with the caveat: "Don't judge a book by its cover". Meaning: The office isn't in the best shape, the lot is crowded/un-kept & the cars are in need of cleaning.

I contacted this dealer by e-mail asking for information about 4 cars. 3Questions I asked included when will PA inspections expire. Dealer at first responded just to come in and would not answer questions. So I sent second e-mail again advising thAT I Lived A 2 HOUR DRIVE AWAY FROM THEIR DEALERSHIP AND WANTED TO KNOW WHEN INSPECTIONS EXPIRED ON 4 CARS. DEALER/malesalesman THEN REPLIED THAT NONE OF THEIR CARS HAD pA INSPECTIONS THAT WERE MORE THEN 4 MONTHS OLD. SO I Drove 2 hoursTO THEM AND FOUND THAT SEVERAL CARS HAD OLDER INSPECTIONS AND THE PLYMOUTH I WANTED MOST HAD AN INSPECTION EXPIRING FEBRUARY 2013 (WITHIN 3 MONTHS)_ INSTEAD OF AT LEAST 8 MONTHS THAT I WAS TOLD. I SHOWED THEM THEIR E-MAIL REPLY BUT THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING LIKE HAVE THE CAR INSPECTED OR LOWEER THE PRICE JUST A LITTLE SO I COULD GET IT INSPECTED. I EXPECTED AT LEAST AN APOLOGY FROM THE MAN WHO SENT ME THE E-MAIL WITH BAD INFO. BUT HIS APOLOGY HAS NEVER HAPPENED ETC. I DROVE ELSEWHERE THE SAME DAY AND PURCHASED ANOTHER CAR THAT I HAD SEEN ADVERTISED FOR THE SAME PRICE WITH AN AUGUST 2013 INSPECTION. IT DID HAVE THE AUGUST 2013 INSPECTION AS I WAS TOLD VIA E-MAIL AND THIS DEALER NEGOTIATED A $500 price reduction on a newer car with lower mileage and a 6 month full coverage warranty included in the price. SO THEIR LAZINESS AND LACK OF ANY COOPERATION COST THEM THE SALE OF THEIR CAR. Also their lot was a mess cars parked everywhere with parts missing etc. and they were working on cars and a truck which were blocking their lot by the sales office so that I could not even drive close to it to go in and talk to a lady there. No salesman ever approached me to offer help or assistance or info about their cars for sale although I was there for at least 15 minutes looking at the 4 cars I had e-mailed them about.
