I would not recommend this dealership😡 I purchased my 2007 Jeep Cherokee in November of 2020, was told by my salesman Barry, I would get second key since there was only 1 key for the vehicle, then the next day I sent emails and tried to contact salesman because my sun roof don’t work, never got response then in February this year my oil light came on so went to the service center and told there’s nothing they could do because it was a ‘As is Sell’ so it’s on me to replace and now I have to pay over $500 to fix the oil pan and seal because it’s completely rusted out, I just think they take advantage of people and say whatever to get them in vehicle’s it’s really unfair to pay that much for a vehicle thinking it’s reliable then have to put all this money into it, also my sunroof still don’t work😡🤦‍♀️

turned in our 2018 Trax, and leased a 2020 Trax, we thought we might like a sedan instead ,Justin Kegley took a lot of time with us going over the pros and cons of both, we've recently become guardians for 2 boys, and decided on another Trax lease with extra miles. your finance manager Mario, was great also, suggested some additional insurance which we purchased .Then Justin's assistant went over all of the bells and whistles on the car. The whole experience at Genthe was great.

As far as first time oil change is concerned it was excellent people were very humble & professional. In the service area I was not satisfied I have extended warranty and rep told us this warranty will protect you more if there any nail slashes or damaged therefore one of my tire got damaged due to nail in it but service rep said they can not do it they have to send pictures of damage get approval then can be replaced this is disappointing and frustrating during purchase they promise you everything soon the deal is over they turn back on you.

The drain plug broke off and they called Mike out and he talked me through the problem and got a mechanic out when they could not extract the plug who got the problem fixed and replaced the plug with a new one.

I have had the same issue serviced several times and my new truck still drives horribly.I was going to purchase at lease end but im going to cut my losses and move on to a different dealer and vehicle altogether.Do not purchase any extra insurance that they offer at the time of sale because its also a joke.I will be pursuing legal action against Genthe.

I only had the opportunity to converse with Doug Raines and briefly with Nicholas Scott, not to exclude any of the other fine gentlemen though, these two individuals stood out most in what was my first ever DICK GENTHE CHEVROLET experience. So it is with pleasure that I take a moment to personally thank them for making our experience a positive one. I enjoyed a successful career of watching and observing people, so it was easy for me to write this review attesting to Dougs personal attention to details and professionalism salesmanship from the outside looking in. It was obvious from the start these people were an asset to the company they represent and the product they sell. As a consumer with a good grasp of business organization it is important for me to say the first impression is the lasting impression businesses either live or die by word of mouth customer service and satisfaction.We recently purchased a vehicle from DICK GENTHE CHEVROLET. The moment we arrived we were met by a warm greeting and handshake. The individual introduced himself as Doug Raines, who was patient courteous and quite professional. After the purchase an issue surfaced with the vehicle requiring some service but even the slightest problems were "comprehensively addressed much to our satisfaction. The service representatives were outstanding! I was completely taken back by this type of customer service. The individual handling service of my vehicle Nick Scott, was clean courteous and attentive to my concerns, and for that reason I was in a perfect position to observe him personally and from afar. Finally in closing, as former Toyota and Ford owner, I can honestly say this is exactly what I will remember and share with my network of acquaintances since the whole experience was powerfully positive and lasting.

We are a GM Family First family. I have loved the Oldsmobile and Buick since I got my first car , a 1969 Riviera age 16. I searched for 2 months. I was treated by 5 other dealerships like they had no time for me. I was blessed to have Jamie Conley answer the phone. He found me a 2011 Buick Lucerne CXL , and he showed interest , and a willingness to go above and beyond , which he exceeded beyond even my high expectations !. He helped me with every aspect of car buying from financing (got me an awesome rate with a local credit union ) and with his reassurance that this with be a smooth and seamless experience, which it was ! Jamie was so kind, respectful and did extra things like getting a door ding fixed. He taught me so much about car buying . (My Oldsmobile was 18 years old , and tired ).John Tomlin , in Finance walked me step by step through the contract process , and was a delight to spend that painful part with ..there was no pressure , only a willingness to service in a high standard. Jamie Conley is the infinitesimal representative of how a quality dealership can reach the highest standard of Excellence in customer service. Jamie talked me through my On Star set up , taught me about Sirius radio and how the plans work. He spent hours just answering my questions and immediately meeting my needs. I live 17 miles away , but I will be taking my beautiful Buick to see Mike in service. I felt like it was my Birthday as I drove this mint Buick of the lot and being so grateful that I was fortunate enough to have patient and kind Jamie to walk me through this big purchase and make me want to bring my daughter in for a used vehicle. THE VERY BEST PEOPLE !

Recently purchased a new Malibu, and love the car. I got a text message from Scott, telling me that he noticed my car belonged to a small group involved in a recall for the start/stop communicating with the battery sensor. Sounds complicated, but my car was ready for me within a half hour. I was able to sit in the lounge and enjoy the AC. Any time I have ever been in for service, of which my previous vehicle required a lot of, I am always aware of what is going on, and Scott, and Mike always make sure there is a rental for me. It is good to know these guys, they make sure you are happy.

Great dealership that will do whatever it takes to get you into a new vehicle at the best price. Compared the lease prices on the exact same vehicle at 5 different Chevrolet dealers in the area and their price was much lower. The next closest dealer to their price was $20 higher a month while the steepest margin was nearly a $70 difference per month. Drew was a great salesman that was willing to do whatever it took to close the deal.

Dick Genthe in Southgate has to be the single worst dealership experience my family has ever had.I had originally taken my car in to have my ac compressor looked at after it began making a loud noise. Originally, we were under a mechanical warranty so the repair and part were covered. When they returned my car to me I found that it was still making a loud noise but was told that the warranty company had insisted on an after market part and that they could sometimes make noise. They assured me is was safe to drive and shouldn't be a problem. I, not being a mechanic, took their word for it.(Of course, the belt attached to the compressor is also attached to the rest of the moving parts in my engine so if it failed, everything would seize up.)A few months later the noise grows louder and I take the car in to have it checked out and also have my brakes looked at. They tell me that the warranty has lapsed and we will have to pay for replacing the compressor. We ask "if the part was faulty in the first place, why should we pay to replace it? Your mechanic installed it." They tell us that the warranty company is responsible and refuses to fix the issue. We are told we have a 6 month, 6000 mile warranty and it has lapsed. One of the other guys that works there looks at the paperwork and points out that even if that were true, we were still under 6000 miles AND 6 months. We are shuffled around and told they would have to contact the warranty company. I get a phone call saying that they are still refusing to replace the part.So skipping ahead of being shuffled around between four or five people, the garage manager comes out and highlights the warranty company phone number and writes down the warranty info for us. He is the ONLY helpful person we dealt with. He urges us to call Ryan about the part. When we do we are informed that DICK GENTHE OWNS THE WARRANTY AND LIED TO US ABOUT IT. It's not a 6 month warranty. It's a 12 month, Dick Genthe's mechanic wrote it up for 12 months. DICK GENTHE LIED TO TRY TO GET OUT OF BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR A PART THAT COULD FAIL AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. Steve denies this, tells us we can't see the hard copies of our paperwork and does everything in his power to derail us. Eventually he relents "don't worry I won't leave you holding the bag" and begrudgingly says he will get the car repaired. In the meantime we deal with the ever passive aggressive John who tells us "he thinks it's a pulley but he guesses they will just have to shell out the 800 bucks to fix our car."It's not our fault but they treat us like it is.So we are down a car for a full week, lied to, given the run around and informed by the warranty company Ryan that this entire time it was DICK GENTHE'S fault and they were the ones trying to get out of fixing their mistake. The woman at Ryan even called Steve to inform him of his responsibility, which apparently was not convincing enough for him to immediately do the right thing. We also had the pleasure of listening to a mechanic complain in front of us that he was sick and tired of being told to slap bandaids on cars and push them through to get them out.What a class act.John and Steve I hope you get fired for this. I have an 8 year old daughter who drives in that car with me every day. God forbid I actually let you run me off like you tried to do for a week straight and something happened to her because that part failed.Thank you to the garage full of honest mechanics who did their best to help us. At least some people in the building were helpful and had integrity.And Steve, if you missed my comment about your motivational poster on "service" I was being sarcastic because you clearly don't have any integrity or compassion."

I bought a 2008 Hummer H3 used from Genthe with a 2year warranty. The vehicle developed an oil leak , had a bad wheel bearing and u-joint. It was serviced under warranty and the oil leak was fixed as was the u-joint. While fixing the u-joint the rubber boot that seals the shaft was torn off. When told about it they denied the cause and I replaced the drive shaft at my own expense. They also said the wheel bearing was OK, when I received the vehicle back and was leaving on a trip my friend said let's put it on a hoist and check before leaving. When on the hoist we found the transmission pan bolts only started and not tight. ( I have picture taken with my I-pad). A month later on a trip north the vehicle was taken to Bishop Cadillac in Cheboygan Mi. , where they fixed the wheel bearing replaced another u-joint and the transmission. Their opinion was these issues should have already been dealt wAaith.These repairs were approved and done under warranty. Cost was $4300.00 Harold E. Johns

Great overall experience - exceptional service. I visited this dealer last year but did not purchase a vehicle at that time, was not happy with the sales person - he was new and did not seem to be very secure in his knowledge of his offerings.When I went in a week ago I was lucky to be greeted by Mario, he made me feel comfortable and put forward the extra effort to understand what my needs were. We went through a few bumps in securing the vehicle but he proved to be the salesman that he is - he pushed for the help that I needed and I would recommend that anyone who was interested in a new Chevrolet visit this dealership and seek out Mario - you would not be disappointed.

Was not happy at all with the sales. They failed to diclose the fact that the tires that were on my camaro were summer only and after the fact they did not resolve the issue. I had to find out myself that the tires crack in cold weather i gave them an opportunity to make it right and they failed to do so. I understand GM chose those tires for performance but i should have been notified. It would have probably changed my decision to buy the car knowing i would have to spend another 1000.00 on tires for winter..i feel once i spent my money they could care less about me as a customer.

I called to set up an appointment with Mike Leidner for service on my trailblazer and he told me that I could drop off that day and said depending on the issue that I more than likely would get my vehicle back the next day. Took my truck in on a Friday for service for which I had an appointment for. Had a few minor issues but the priority was to check a problem with the transmission. Said they could not get to the transmission late Friday due to the transmission techs being backed up with two ahead of me. The following Monday they stated they may get a chance to look at it, but never did. Tuesday was told still two in front of me and now only had one tech as the other was on vacation for the week. By Tuesday night still had not looked at the trans. Wednesday morning they still had never looked at it and told them I would pick it up and take it somewhere else, as tomorrow was the Thanksgiving holiday and needed it for the weekend. What a complete waste of time, and I kept having to call them to check status as they did not keep me in the loop as much as they should have. My wife told me not to take it here, but it was close and I thought I would give them a try. Bad mistake and will never go back, lots of other dealerships and independent places.

Threatened to place criminal charges on me, if I didn't pay , so what did I pay $79.00 for not trust worthy dealership. Did return with original deal jacket to prove I had paid. Hello. As to the Service Dept and Sales Reps I''ve been really pleased with the service that I have received on that part. However back in October of 2014 I was Inolved in an auto accident and brought my car there to be reparied and was very unhappy with the workmanship that was done on it. It was nothing major that was wrong but things that was not fixed right or missing parts that I had to go back a few times for them to correct it. So yes I was a little Inconvenienced on that aspect. Bought a used Malibu from Doug Raines. He was very helpful and was sure to point out everything about the vehicle we should know. Being one of our first larger purchases, we were a little nervous about having to finance it. We got a great price on the car and also purchased the additional warranty. After a week or so of driving, we started having an issue with the radio and key fob. Doug made sure that I was supplied a rental vehicle and the repair was made pretty quickly. The Service representative Scott was also extremely helpful. He kept me updated on the repairs. They also found an oil leak while the car was in for service and repaired it that day. All was done at no cost to me. Awesome customer service and would highly recommend going to Doug if you are in the market for a used car. I know we will be needing another one around summer, and I know where I am going.

They have had my car over a month and have raised the cost estimate from 6k to 10k on a used car! Customer service rep Mike in the body shop shows no remorse for the length of time they are taking for repairs and refuses to make accommodations for car rental or speed up the process. Our Salesman Duane and the Sales Manager Bob Capp have gone above and beyond with this most recent purchase. We almost did not purchase from the dealership and almost went to the competition and Purchased a GMC instead. Duane and Bob would not have us go anywhere but Genthe. They did everything in there power to get us in the vehicle we wanted and matched the other dealership in price. I am not sure what all kinds of things that had to be done to make this happen but they definitely are an awesome team to work with. I am sure our next purchase will be made at this dealership as well.

I took my 2 month old Volt (3200 miles) in for an alignment yesterday July 17,2014 to Dick Genthe Chevrolet. Vehicle alignment falls well under the new vehicle limited warranty for the first 7500 miles. This dealership repeatedly denied that an alignment is covered under any type of warranty. The service manager (Steve Szabados) was called into the situation and even he denied that this was not under warranty and demanded payment for the alignment. Interestingly enough is that I had the new vehicle limited warranty with me and read to it out loud to the service manager and service advisor. They both (Neil and Steve) wanted to know where i got this information from and how I got it. (This warranty info is available to anyone and it is no secret) It was only then after 2.5 hours that they decided that I did not have to pay for the WARRANTY issue. They also left the Volt running the entire 2 hours which drained the battery. Upon leaving the dealership I had to sign paper work and then was asked again to pay for the alignment. (terrible communication within this dealership). I then had to wait for an additional 20 minutes as a third different service employee said I HAD to pay for the alignment and he stated "I don't believe you" when I stated this was under warranty and the manager knew about this. This dealerships service department is extremely incompetent, rude, not trustworthy, and is a poor reflection of quality costumer service and the Chevrolet brand.

I have a real problem with the finance department. I took possession of my automobile on June 22, 2014, but I was charged a month's additional lease for May 22, 2014. Customer service was non-existent as I was told by the finance department that there was nothing they could do and to get in touch with the finance company. The finance company told me there was nothing they could do as a clerical error (typing in the for for May instead of the 6 for June), paperwork showed that I had received the car on May 22. No one was willing to help clear this up and I have to pay an additional month's lease payment. I AM NOT HAPPY AND I WILL NEVER LEASE FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN

Had Sirius with my Cruze trade in, but did not realize it was not on the Malibu. Had to call Sirius to explain my options with my current subscription, and they are sending me a radio. Would have rather had it in the car then an add on. Also it seemed you did not pass on my Window Sticker, that I like to have to see what was included in the vehicle for next time. When I explained to the service rep. that my driver's door would not open, he explained that the service department was really backed up, but because of my problem he would see if they could get my car repaired the same day. It was 7:30 that night but it was done. Jason had my car washed and I was on the road again. It would have been a much better experience if the repair wasn't so expensive but the service was excellent.

Dealership experience was decent in comparison to other dealerships I've worked with in the past. As with any vehicle purchase from any dealer make sure you're getting the deal that you want for a price you are wanting to pay. If I can give any advice it would be to stay away from financing anything over 100%. The interest rates sky rocket past this range especially for people with bad credit.

I had to visit the dealership 5 times including 1 more time that my husband had to bring money due that was not mentioned before I signed for my lease. I was not informed that I had to pay my first month payment on the date I signed, I was called by Ben 5 days after I signed to notify me that I owed $361.00. I was very upset about this and my husband called the Sales Mgr. which failed to call him back. Ben had called us 3 times by this point, but we didn't want to deal with him anymore. No service recovery was made by the sales mgr. I am very dissatisfied with my experience all the way around. I feel my purchase was very rushed and disorganized. Ben's excuse for not telling me that I owed money due was because he sold 3 cars that day. There is no excuse for the customer service I've received. After we paid this money due, I received an $11 check in the mail. We were misinformed on the amount, I don't feel that I should have paid this amount because it was not discussed with me. I do not recommend this dealer, especially after going to Bill Crispin Chevrolet. After watching my husband experience, we will now be doing business with them.

As a first time car buyer I really didn't know what to expect. I went in knowing the exact make, model and color of the car I wanted so there really wasn't any "selling" involved. I did think it it was odd that after being told it could be months before the car I wanted would be available, I received a phone call within an hour that one had been located. Excellent service upon my trip to the repair area. Scott was a super star, I would recommend this dealership to any one for service. The service crew, a girl in the area, whose name I didn't catch, identified a major problem with my car I was unaware of, before even seeing it. I went in for an oil change and found out that there was a much bigger problem with my radiator. They were thorough with my car and when I left I felt confident that my car was in much better shape than when I brought it in.However I would never recommend that any one go here to purchase a car. Working with Nick Z. was awful, and almost enough to make me not buy the car, and something I am still bitter about 3 months later. the entire process took almost 5 hours. I made an appointment through the USAA car buying service through which I was already pre-approved for a loan at a quoted and fair price. The person I made an appointment with wasn't there when I arrived, the car I had made an appointment to see wasn't even on the lot when I arrived. Price wasn't discussed until 4.5 hours into the process. Nick spent half the time running around trying to get me a loan, with out being informative about what he was doing. The process could have taken an hour had he bothered to ask the proper questions, or answer the questions I asked.

Scott, the service writer, was absolute great from the moment I brought in my Camaro until my service work was completed. I was in and out in time to make it to work and the work was done perfectly. My vehicle was returned in as good of shape as when I handed it over. My experience could have gone a lot better had it not been an extremely busy day for the mechanics. I came in with a simple punctured tire and it took 3 and a half hours to get me on my way. The man I had spoken to was very friendly and apologetic, and informed me upfront of how long it would be which definitely helped the situation. Luckily it got fixed same day because I was driving out of town the next day and needed my car to be ready for the road. All in all it was great service just bad timing.

My 2011 Equinox battery went bad and needed to be replaced and although it hadn't been purchased from this dealership it was taken there because of its proximity to my home. When it became apparent that it was not going to be finished until the next day, Scott found a very nice loaner for me. The service was completed the very next day.These guys are great, very friendly and courteous, a huge difference from the dealership I actually got the car from. I had my car repaired at the Dick Genthe Body Shop. I wasn't completely satisfied with the repairs etc. and called to speak with the manager. I spoke with Mike in the body shop and he was very rude to me. I feel like once they have your money they are done with you. I would highly recommend that you pick a different place to have your car repaired unless you want to have a car you're not happy with.

I brought my car in for service due to a recall notice and some problems related to the notice. My service representative "Neal" made sure that my car was well taken care of. He explained everything that that was going on with my vehicle and when a part for my vehicle had to be sent from another source he provided a loaner car at no expense to me until my car was ready." Neal" provide excellent customer service and my car runs much better than it did prior to my visit to your dealership. I would rate my experience at your dealership a 12 out of 12. I wish all service departments were ran the way that Dick Genthe is. They take care of you, so if you have a Chevy car and live downriver please take it to Dick Genthe, you won't be sorry that you did.

I bought a 2012 Sonic from Genthe. I have had 3 sets of sway bar links put on the vehicle, I have had calipers replaced on the vehicle, I have had it in several times for windshield washer issues, and as to date it has been in the service department for 10 days with transmission work. The service dept. has been vage about what the issue is. I got a LEMON from Genthe and no one seems to care, the service dept. makes comments like it is what it is. I come from a long line of Ford owners and workers and convinced my husband to cosign on the Sonic. I will never buy or recommend a Chevy vehicle to any friends of family ever. I think that I should be issued some sort of extended warrenty on the car, because I have concerns that instead of driving this car for the next 15 years like I have the Ford cars I have owned, I will be dumping money into it the whole time I own it, and I still owe 4 more years of payments on it. A very very dishearted customer. Im certain that this review will not end up on the site, because I only see good reviews, but it was important to me to be able to express how sad I am for buying a Lemon. I was very pleased with the service I received at Dick Genthe. My passenger-side seat belt buckle was broken. Jason, the service rep., was nice, friendly, courteous and very efficient in assisting me to get the work done. He checked my car, told me that I also needed new windshield wipers, helped with the part order, called me when the part arrived, and scheduled an appointment for the repair the following day. He is a fine rep. for Dick Genthe. I was in and out of there very quickly with a repaired seat belt buckle and a car wash. He made the whole process an excellent experience. I would definitely have work done at Dick Genthe again.

I brought a used corvette in for inspection.I paid 150.00$ for a 179 point inspection.I had not yet bought the car.My offer was dependent on what the inspection told me.I already knew spme things from my own inspection/test drive.When I got the report the only things that were brought to my attention were thing I already knew.When I took the car to mcguires in clare to have the brakes checked because of pulsation the told me that upon reading the computer codes the car had an issue with the abs system. they also told me that a gas gauge code also came up.In other words the tech did not read codes during the inspection.The service manager told me this was the same inspection that was performed on used cars.So what your telling me is that you would take in a 15 year old car and NOT read codes.This poor excuse for an inspection may end up costing me 4000.00$.Why would anybody buy a car here?

I found a 2003 Corvette I had an interest in on Cars.com and shown as in Dick Genthe's inventory ( it had been assigned a stock number) Only one factory supplied promo picture accompanied the ad, so I emailed Genthe requesting some exterior, interior and under the hood shots, along with a shot of the odometer reading....you know, like everyone else in the world does when trying to sell a car. I received two boiler plate emails from Genthe's internet sale group about dedication, follow-up, attention, yadda yadda. That's all well and good, but in response to my first picture request, I was sent a zip file that contained nothing. When I reported this, I was provided a link to Genthe's website where "more pictures can be found". Guess what? There were two pictures this time, both standard Chevrolet publicity stock photos. My third request for picture of the actual car they'd like to sell has been ignored. Scammers? Just incompetent? I don't know...but this doesn't add up if these guys are who they portray themselves to be. Be careful!

I came in the dealership because I had an problem with a metal strip that came loose and was staring to drag. I mentioned to Gary my problem and he went into action and within 15 minutes it was fixed at no charge. I felt I was treated great for something that did not make this dealership any money. I dealt with Mike also in the past and had the same great experience. These 2 are both customer service oriented workers and I wish there were more places and people out there that extended such prompt hospitality. Thank you for going the extra mile!

Genthe Chevrolet, but especially Duane Hess and Jim Matyas, were a refreshing change from the other places/people I encountered during my scouting for a new car. Everyone in the dealership was genuinely friendly and I plan to use social media to share my very positive experience. Duane explained his side of things, never pressured me, and constantly looked for ways to get me a new car in my budget, several months earlier than I thought possible. Jim helped get me the right financing and had such a pleasant demeanor, I actually enjoyed the financial aspect experience. I have had two situations since April of 2012 where I've had to use Dick Genthe's Body Shop for repairs. Mike (Manager) and Gary in the Body Shop (Office) are truly wonderful! They are very professional as well as personable. They are very accomodating, always willing to help no matter what the situation is. Whether it's driving me to the Rental Car Facility, a ride to and from work, etc. They go above and beyond! I received a phone call every day to keep me updated on the status of my vehicle. Both times my cadilliac was in their shop, it was completed in a timely manor and looked just like new when picking it up! I had the option to take my vehicle anywhere; Don Massey, Cadilliac of Novi,... I chose Dick Genthe both times because of Mike and Gary. I apprecaite them so much and have purchased 2 other cars from there in the past year because of my experience w/ them. Again, both gentleman are professional but at the same time, personable! The quality of work is amazing, their communication is great, always smiling and making the experience truly perfect! Thank you to both of them for everything they have done!

This was the 2nd time i had used the new Oil Change facility, the service was 100% better than the first time. I was not sure that I should give Dick Genthe another try or not, I'm now glad I did, both of the attendants were courteous and professional. The 1st time I was there, there were 4 employees all goofing off, throwing things at each other, etc. Just to give an example; I had waited in the service waiting room for them to complete the oil change. Upon completion, one of the employees "Zack" was laying underneath my vehicle in the pit and refused to move when it was time for me to leave. Fortunately, that was not the case this time. Thank you.

I dropped off a Saturn Aura for a windshield wiper problem. While the car was in the service department I was out of town. The service advisor called and said that in addition to the problem I reported, there was a transmission leak. I had never seen a transmission leak or indications therof, but I trusted the advisor. When I picked up the car, the paperwork stated this " customer states he has started noticing small oil spots in his driveway" I never stated anything like that -- leads me to wonder - did I have an oil leak or did they make it up so that they could zing me for 150 bucks, knowing I was out of town and could not check on the car?

I dropped off a car to have a windshield wiper problem service and told the advisor that I was not available to check the car. two days later I was called and told that in addition to the wiper problem, there was a leak on the tranmission. I trusted the dealer and told him to repair the problem. I paid over the phone. when I picked up the car - locked outside with the keys and paperwork inside, the paperwork stated "customer states he has started noticing small oil spots in his driveway" this is a total lie - I did not tell the service advisor that. This makes me wonder if I did have a leak or if the advisor just wanted to get more money for the dealership. If the mechanic found a leak it should not say "customer - anything" Did I have a leak, or did I just line the dealership pockets?

They have a pretty good oil change system that changes oil, rotates tires, and checks all kinds of things. The price is comparable to other oil change places for the services offered. Recently they had a 4 wheel alignment for $40 which is really good. Mike has been my service consultant since he worked at Saturn of Southgate. He's very friendly and will try his best to make you happy and have you leave with a smile on your face.

The place sucks. The used car salesman Ron Gignac was a rude guy. I was looking for a car under $4000 and he was telling me that cars like that are a piece of s--t and that he sells cars $12000 and above. He didn't care about selling me a car and told me that if I found a great car for $4000, I should go there. Great customer service! He wouldn't give me the keys to test the cars and claimed he didn't know where the cars were. He was doing this to get me to leave. When I told him he was rude and I'm leaving, he said "Have a good day" and that was it. No apology or didn't try to show me other cars. Screw Dick Genthe!

What a great experience for my first time buying a new car. I went in to the dealership with an exact price i wanted to spend along with the car i wanted down to all the options and Tim Eubanks made it happen. There were no cars in Michigan that had everything I was requesting and Tim found one in Chicago and took an entire day out his busy schedule to drive to Chicago and pick up the exact car I wanted. I have never experienced a bad time or had any one not be friendly to me. On my last trip to purchase a car i was not sure what i could get cause at that time my finances and the price range of what i needed for a car i didnt think was possible. I have bought a previous car from Ron Gignac and knew that if there was someone that could help me out it was him. He knowledge of the cars on the lot and not to mention his friendly personnality is something that you dont find at every lot. He knew what he was dealing with after a brief chat about my finances and to my surprise he not only got me into a car but he was able to place me in my very first brand new car and helped me decide that leasing would be a better way for me. Paul greeted my husband and I, in a courteous and professional manner. I was embarrassed to tell him about my credit situation, but I wanted to rebuild my credit, and not have my name removed from the loan like the previous dealership did. He understood what I wanted and he took the time to listen to our needs. During the entire process, he made me feel at ease, and I never felt pressured. While we were waiting for our loan to be approved, he constantly returned to communicate the process to us. I am happy to say that I was approved for the loan and although my husband cosigned for me, he was able to get me a loan which will help increase and rebuild my credit. Dave and Kevin were simply just fantastic to work with on my purchase of 2011 Cruze. Yes I said to work with.Dave came back from a lunch he was 10 min. Into, stayed over another day, and put up with me comming back several days to look at several cars and answer my questions fully and professionally. When I finally came to a choice he had me work with Kevin who had gotten me approved for a $400 payment at 12.9 o/o interest rate I told him after all his work that would not work for me and I would really have to think this over. Kevin appoligized for not being able to do better for me( like my credit issues were his fault) he thought to see if my husbands credit would get us a better rate or lower payment and guess what it worked!!!! $316 payment 6.09o/o and no need for gap insurance=$799 savings and an 84 month/ 90,000 service warranty. Yes this is customer service. Thank you for not only doing your job but doing it with a passion that results in great results. I wish I could clone this customer service passion in all my dealings. Took my 2008 HHR here for body work. Initial drop off an info transfer was fine. Communication during the repair process was lacking. I had to call in and ask about a date of completion. Picking up the car was an utter fiasco. Mike, the manager of the Body Shop is the RUDEST person I have ever encountered in my 20 years of being a GM customer. They closed at 6, and I could not get there until right before 6pm. I called him at 5:30 and told him I was on the way and it would be close. All I had to do was pay my deductible and get my keys. When I walked in the door at 5:57, Mike very rudely tapped his watch and said "30 more seconds!" My fiance, who was with me and is an engineer at GM, politely reminded him that it was about customer service and that the transaction would only take less than 2 minutes and that staying 2 minutes past 6 pm was worth it for a loyal customer. Mike then proceeded to shout at my fiance about how he had been here all day and left at 6pm with no exception. I get it. He wanted to go home to his family. We wanted to go home too. But instead, Mike insisted on arguing with my fiance for well over 5 minutes. Once he finally rang me up, he threw my car keys on his desk and said "you're all done." He never took me out to the car to walk me through the repair, he never said "thank you" or "come again" or "I'm sorry I was so rude and picked a fight with you for no reason." If he would have kept his sarcasm and rudeness contained, taking me out to the car, showing me the repair, and ringing me up would have taken FAR less time than it did to yell at me and my fiance for coming in at the last minute for a simple pick-up. I brought my car to Genthe because it is a State Farm preferred repair shop. I will be letting SF know how I was treated by Mike. I just moved down to GI from Novi and I was looking for a new Chevy dealer to replace my beloved Liberty Chevrolet. I will NEVER bring my car here again. Mr. Genthe, you should be ASHAMED of how Mike acted towards a customer today.

My experience there was the best. Everyone was very friendly. My circumstances were not the best. I was very up front with Cindy, who in turn, was very honest with me. They held my newer vehicle for two days waiting on the down payment. I was treated with respect and kindness. I felt as if I was family. A shuttle was sent out to my work to come and pick me up to finish the transaction. The fact that they have been in business was an extra insurance policy knowing I was getting a mechanically sound vehicle and that they stand behiond their work and vehicles. I will refer anyone that needs a vehicle to Genthe.

With having not the best credit I was alittle apprehensive on even looking for a car but my husband said lets do it! He spoke with Barry first who was encouraging with the credit issue. When I came back with him to look for a car Jamie was helpful in telling me which vehicles really would fit our situation, Barry was off that day. Me and my fiance went into Dick Genthe because he was looking for a truck. He found a 2006 Avalanche and loved it. We test drove it and it ran wonderful. Barry was very friendly with us and answered any questions we had. The one thing we found wrong on the truck was the sun roof would not close properly but Barry said he would take care of it for us. They also had the truck washed and some gas in it before he picked it up today. Our overall experience at Dick Genthe was great because everyone there was very friendly and helped us get a good deal we could afford.

This was my sons' 1st purchase of a vehicle I couldn't have asked for a better experience for him...Barry and the rest of the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and to make sure that my son got exactly what he wanted and they made sure he understood everything before signing!! They did not try to sell me a car I didn't want and they were never pushy. Mr Genthe called me personally to thank me for coming in and bought me dinner before ZI even bought the car. This is the fourth vehicle that my family has purchased from Barry "Chipper" Goudy and Dick Genthe Chevrolet. His personal commitment and that also of the dealer to customer service is outstanding. No stone is left unturned in searching for the correct vehicle for a customer. I spoke personally to the gentleman that goes to the wholesalers looking for vehicles and explained just what I wanted. He found the correct vehicle within one day !!I am somewhat disabled and the used car department went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable in every way and enjoyed the process of purchasing a vehicle. Little things such as finding a chair with no arms, helping me up and down the stairs and bringing vehicle to me to try instead of walking through the lots make a wonderful impression on a customer. Refreshments were also offered repeatedly. It was all greatly appreciated. Barry even went as far as to introduce my husband and I to Richard Genthe and explained to him that we are repeat customers. The price was right, all warranties were explained and the "extras" on the car were demonstrated. The lowest interest rate for financing was also provided. All the paperwork was completed easily in a timely manner. The seat belt extenders I requested were ordered and a license plate holder and key chains were provided.I would highly recommend Barry and the dealership to anyone looking for a new or used car. I will definitely return myself the next time I need a vehicle.

Although we had a difficult time with our first few communications with Genthe after my husbands Impala was purchased, due to his vehicle having several fairly expensive items that needed fixed within the first few months of it's purchase, not only did Richard Genthe contact us himself to help resolve the issue, but he gave us his personal cell phone number in case we needed any help from him. We are still working on fixing the issue, but they have gone above and beyond since Mr. Genthe was contacted. Mr. Genthe is fabulous with his customer service and Ray has been extremely kind and helpful. Although, we were extremely unhappy in the beginning, we have since been EXTREMELY pleased with how our situation has been dealt with.

I was looking for a great car and received a flyer in the mail from Dick Genthe.. I called to inquire about thier great deals and spoke with Jennifer Boller. Jennifer was great and very welcoming. I went to the dealearship a few hours later. I met with Jennifer and she helped me to find the best car for me. She was very helpful; she even offered to let me test drive her car. As a previous satisfied customer, I brought my mom in to see Barry. He introduced us to Danielle for information on new and lease cars. When I originally signed my lease, the signing date was entered wrong. In order to fix this problem, and have my payment date moved so it matched the date of original signing, Barry worked with the bank and me to figure out how to fix this problem. In the end, dealership covered the cost to change my payment date so it matched the original pickup day of my car, and saved me the money of having to pay for it myself.

I recently purchased a 2012 Silverado 4x4 from Dick Genthe Chevrolet. I began the process by applying for credit online at their website. Almost imediatley after approval i received a phone call from Danielle Lorenz. At that time she answered all of my questions regarding current inventory and fianancing possibilities. I am a small business owner and was looking for a truck to put in operation for plowing snow. I met Danielle that same day and she was very helpful and friendly as to help me find what i was looking for. The next day after receiving high quality service from the entire staff i was driving my new truck home. Bad experience all together. Pulled out of the parkng lot with a Used car that was never "certified" like the sign Clearly Advertise. Car won't start the next day, brakes totally went out and was told, "I will never do a favor for anyone again", "Favor, are you serious! Would consider that a favor! Was given a hard time when we returned the car 4 days later about car being sold as is. The car was never checked at all! Sent someone the day after to DG and she bought a brand new car, I am sorry that I told her to go there!

I called Bruce Genthe to complain about the "lack of" service I received. I had brought my vehicle in because a check engine light was on, but it sat there unnoticed for 4 days until I called Bruce, even after I made several calls and even stopped in.He immediately went to the service dept. and had them put my car on the scope to diagnose the problem, which turned out to be a bad part that they replaced. He also apologized emphatically and assured me that this is not their normal procedure.I felt bad that I had to call the boss, but was glad I did. Bruce was very helpful and kept me informed at each step. I am very appreciative of Bruce and the time he took out of his day to correct the problem I was having, because honestly the service dept. really dropped the ball on this one.I now have my car back, which they detailed completely inside & out for me. I still have some reservations about returning to Dick Genthe Chevrolet for any service work, but we'll see if the need arises.Thank you again to Bruce and Dennis, the Shop Manager I believe, who walked me to my car at the end to reassure me that I can call him also if I have any problems.

I called on Monday, April 11, 2011 and spoke with Gary in the Service dept. I told him that my check engine light was on and asked if I needed to make an appointment since I couldn't get there until after work (about 5:00). He told me that I could just stop in and they would look at it, I also mentioned at that time that I would need a rental if I had to leave it, but he said to just stop in and they'd look at it before deciding if I needed a rental. When I arrived after work I spoke with Mike Leidner and he told me that they were very busy and I'd have to leave my car, so I said I'd need a rental. He then said that I'd have to pay because my warranty wouldn't cover the cost if it only took a couple of hours or less once my car was worked on. I got the impression it wouldn't take long to figure out and correct the problem so I didn't want to pay for a rental so I had to have them shuttle me home and then I had to make my own arrangements for a ride to and from work the next day.I didn't hear from Mike on Tuesday, April 12, so I called him around 1:30 to find out the status of my car, but he said it hadn't been looked at yet and he'd know more by 3:00. He finally called me back around 4:30 and said they wouldn't even be able to look at my car until Wednesday and again said he'd call.I didn't hear from him again so I called him at 3:15 on Wednesday and left him a message to call me and also said that I was coming to pick up my car by 4:30 whether it was done or not. By this time I was fed up!When I arrived I went straight to Mike and told him I was picking up my car, at first he said I'd have to go to the cashier but I told him that I didn't even know if it was done and that I had left him a message. He asked my name, but when I told him he just kinda laughed and said "hmmm, I don't remember that name", as did Gary who was standing next to him. I felt like they were having a laugh at my expense and I didn't get the joke.He finally found me in the system and said that my car had still not been looked at! It was only a check engine light! He asked me a couple of times if it had been running ok, which it had been, but I wanted it checked so as not to void my warranty, besides the fact that the light normally indicates that there is some kind of problem. He was very nice, but it felt like he was treating me like I was an idiot. So I said I wanted to pick it up because I had no other transportation available to get to and from work. He then asked if I wanted a rental, but I said that I would not pay for one, then he said I wouldn't have to because it would be covered under my warranty. I reminded him that he gave me a different story on Monday, but he said that since they had my car for a few days it would be covered now. I had no choice since I still had to get to work on Thursday.He took me over to the Enterprise window, after trying to be funny and telling me that I had to go down the road a couple of blocks to get there. NOT FUNNY at this point! He also said he'd be off the rest of the week and that Gary would be calling me when my car was done. Yeah, right.I can't believe that no one had 5 minutes over the course of 3 days to put my car on a scope just to see if any actual work had to be done! I think I was treated very poorly and am very upset at the whole situation.The only reason I went to this dealership was that it was the only Saturn authorized dealership in the area, which I had to go to according to my Saturn warranty.Today is Thursday and I am going back for my car. Enough is enough! Not only did I have to come up with my own alternate transportation, but I had to have someone else rearrange their schedule to help me. I can assure you that I will NEVER come back to Dick Genthe Chevrolet again, I found another Saturn authorized dealership in Ohio instead. I also can't believe that they are still in business if this is how they normally treat customers!

I vowed I would never go back to Genthe after a previous vehicle purchase, but after my recent purchase I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. I originally started off with Lisa Stan who at the time was assigned to Internet Sales. She was very prompt, helpful and friendly and her follow up was very quick and efficient. I ended up purchasing a used vehicle through Cindy McTaggart who worked with Lisa and was very helpful and looked out for the vehicles that she thought I would be interested in. I finally purchased my vehicle and I am happy with it. Both Lisa and Cindy were there when I came to pick it up and I really appreciate everything that they did for me. I also had the pleasure of working with John Tomlin who is their finance guy. He was awsome! He was very patient with my issues and got me into a vehicle that I was extrememly satisified with and I really appreciate all the hoops that he had to jump through to get me in a vehicle. THANKS YOU GUYS! I will recommend these 3 to anyone!

We purchased a used vechicle for our 16-year-old son from Dick Genthe Chevrolet last summer. Price was a big deal to us but so was purchasing a safe, reliable vechicle for our son. Genthe scored big points from us in both areas. My car was stolen and I needed a car fast, I went into Dick Genthe and spoke with John Tomlin. I was a emotional wreck the first day and could not think straight, I had alot going on and was dealing with my stolen car and the pressure of trying to find another one fast, no pressure was put on me to buy that day, in fact they told me to go home and deal with the police and come back when I was ready. Two days later I went home with a beutiful new car. I could not of had a better experience and will buy all my cars there from now on.

Saturn recently went belly-up and notified us that if service was needed on our leased vehicle, we were to take it to an authorized Saturn Service Center the closest of which was a GM dealership called Dick Genthe. Since this new dealership was closer than the Saturn one was, we were happy with choosing them. Saturn also provided us with 4 free oil changes, which for our vehicle was for the remainder of the lease. Pretty nice eh?Once we transitioned to Genthe, I took the vehicle in for the first oil change and was told that they had not heard of the promotion from Saturn. Luckily, I had brought the e-mail along and after some lip chewing and brow furrowing they agreed to do it. I sat in the waiting room for 2 hours waiting for them to change the oil. Not a good start.I also want to mention that the Hertz rental car place that is located there is a complete joke. They rarely have cars available and the ones they do have look like wind-up toy cars. My wife had arranged for a larger vehicle for work (she totes 3 children around at times) and was told that all of the big cars are being used; its spring break you know. Then, a few weeks later, we noticed a terrible grinding noise coming from our power steering area. We took it in and were told that the repairs could be extensive. We at first were given an impala to drive, and then a LaCrosse. The reason for this was we were told to come back and grab the vehicle but then were told that it wasnt ready. Anywho, that leads us back to the newest form of lunacy.My wife called Genthe and inquired about getting in for repairs due to a flat tire. They informed her that they could fit her in, but the cost for a new tire would be over $330 with labor. They never mentioned that they would look into fixing the tire. Angela called Belle tire and they said bring it in, well look at it. Ang took it there and they claimed a rim leak was likely causing the issue and that it would cost about 250 for a new tire if she wanted one. They felt it was in good enough shape to drive and last awhile. This took about 30 minutes and cost us nothing. We decided to hold off on going to Genthe; we were assured that the tire was ok and would probably need very minor repairs.Everything was hunky-dorey until Monday morning when my wife was about to go to work. The same tire was flat, so she contacted Onstar again and they replaced the flat, again. I was then marshaled to leave work early and go to Dick Genthe in the hopes of avoiding another day off of work. I arrived at the dealership at 6pm. I was assisted by Dave Lozon, a service rep. The service area was slow and I had hopes of a quick resolution. Fat chance. Dave asked about the problem and I informed him that it was a flat tire in need of investigation. Dave got into the cabin of the car and was initially unable to read the mileage due to the tire sensor error message. He claimed he was new and wasnt used to the cars. I explained that I felt that the leak was likely coming from the rim or a screw hole that I pointed out. They had me remove and then replace the tire from the back of the vehicle and then they pulled it into the service bay. After a while, I walked out to see what the delay was and was told that they were just getting to it. This was at 7pm. At 7:45pm, I was told that the issue was a leaking Valve stem/tire sensor and that the part was not at the location; theyd get it tomorrow. As Dave was telling me this, the tech ran out and said that they did have the part and he could put it on real quick. Dave told him that they were close to closing and that he had other cars to handle. He then asked if we could come in first thing the next day to finish the repairs. I informed him that my wife would be there and that she had to leave no later than 9:30am for work. I was assured that this would not be an issue. I then limped the car home to an unhappy wife who now had to get up at the crack of dawn.My wife got there at 6:45am and didnt leave until 9:15am. The car sat in the receiving bay until 8am or so; it appears that the techs dont arrive until 7:30am or around there. They fixed the tire, explained that the tire sensors would likely never work properly again and sent her on her way. My wife immediately noticed a hard pull to the right of the car and the spare tire still in the back seat; they never replaced it. Angela called Dave back and he said that he didnt know what the issue could be. When Angela mentioned that the donut was still in the back seat and not replaced, he said well isnt that funny. My poor wife had had it at this point and was ready to go postal on them so she called me instead. I decided to take the direct approach and call the service manager, Dennis. Dennis answered and was very contrite. He explained that this was not the first time the donut was not replaced by this tech and that it should never happen. He was also apologetic about Daves lackadaisical attitude and after some work scheduled me to head back there a third time for repairs. He also promised to hold a Malibu at the rental place for me just in case.On Thursday, I arrived at 6:50am. I was assisted by a service rep named Micheal who had no idea about why I was there. After spending some time investigating the account and interrogating me, he was able to get the car into the service bay. This occurred between 7am-7:40am. Dave touched base with me a few times, explaining the delays and what they thought the issue was. They basically had to re-align my car. The Hertz guy came by and was actually cool enough to hold the car Dennis promised until it was deemed that Id need it. At 9:30 my car was ready. I filled out the paperwork (everything was covered because of the lease) and they also corrected a wiper fluid recall while onsite. I was optimistic when the car pulled up, but also wanted to check things out. I asked the driver to wait and I checked the back seat. Lo and behold; the damn spare was still sitting there. I asked them (again) to place it back on the car and paced in disgust until they pulled it back around. That was at 9:50am. At no time did Dennis speak to me personally about the issues I was having. He did a decent job of trying to fix the issues that occurred, but at no time did I feel that this was an escalated issue. No one should ever have to spend almost 10 hours at a service center for what essentially was a flat tire issue. The fact that we had to go back 3 times and explain 3 times what the issue was is ridiculous. I am currently looking for a new service center. I dont think Ill be buying a GM now either because of this. My Ford Dealership service center has never had these issues. Ive also discovered that Dick Genthe has a history of these issues.I hope this assists you in determining where to go for service. Always research if you need to make a change.

Bought two cars there and have had a good salesman BUT service is the worst I have ever had. Both car were for my daughter the First was a was a 2003 ford the throttle stuck she took it to the service dept. they told her take it to a ford dealer we have a ex. warranty at genthe NOT THE FORD DEALER . I had to go up there to deal with the service dept because they kept giving her the run around. we hade to get the sales man to get the car fixed. Car was totaled She need a another car we went back to Genthe because close to home, saw the same sales man she found a car she like and could afford. This time a Saturn , i went look at the car, it needed tires the sales man said "DON'T WORRIE WE WILL DO A 131 POINT INSPECTION ON IT" and They did . She pick the car up went to school called me and said she didn't have any BRAKES. I went back down there I asked to see the inspection that was done and signed by the tech. (I worked for a dealer for many years) I was not happy at all to say the least. they produced the papers showing the tech showed the car NEEDED BRAKES & TIRES .I asked why the hell the would seen a 20yr girl out the door in a car she just bought with no BRAKES They had no answer they did fix the car that day as I told them I was calling my lawyer but i didn't because thankfully she didn't get hurt. to this day every time the car need service we have to go talk to the sales man because the service is so BAD.

We would have never thought that it would have only taken one dealership to visit in order for us to find the right car and deal for us, but it that's all it took. I have been purchasing and leasing my vehicles from Dick Genthe for many years now, I have never had a bad experience. Jason Raby is a great salesman and treats his customers very well, he remembers my name every time he has run into me at the dealership (service and body work). Mike Mathis and his team in the body shop are nothing short of miracle workers. As for the service department, I will only take my car there whenever I have any issues, including oil changes. They are always friendly and get the job done in great time or keep me informed if it is going to take longer. And Mike, your guy who drives us home, he is so nice and makes the trip enjoyable. I will continue to lease/purchase my future vehicles from Genthe.

Very good experience. The waiting room very clean with the Detroit Free press to read and coffee. The creamer was empty and I asked a girl in the reception area about a new one. She was very nice and got me one right away.My car was fixed promptly and I would return anytime if I need service on my Colbalt.Sincerely,Mary

I wanted to get out of a Cobalt into something bigger. My credit isn't the greatest and my budget for a vehicle was not that great either. This dealership was able to work out details to get me out of my '08 Colbalt into a '09 Chevy Impala LTZ which is loaded. I couldn't be more satisfied. I have told everybody I can think of who may be in the market for a car to try this dealership. They were friendly and understanding. I was able to get the car I wanted for the price I wanted with the payments I asked for. I will be getting my next car from Dick Genthe Cheverolet. Oh, one more thing, one of the owners, Bruce came out to meet customers, he was very pleasant, and willing to work at getting you into a new vehicle. If you are in the market for a vehicle I highly recommend this dealership.

I have purchased two new vehicles from this dealership. Those vehicles are a 2003 Corvette and a 2006 Silverado. In fact, the same salesperson sold me both vehicles. Both of those vehicles are serviced at this dealership. I do not use any other dealership for my service work. During my recent Silverado service, I was shown my brake rotors and was able to discuss their condition with the mechanic. That certainly helped me to understand what was needed. My overall experience at this dealership has been excellent. I would certainly recommend this dealership for both sales and service.

Paid a visit to the dealer to have some warranty work performed and to also have my tires rotated. The service center called and said that they looked through my car and could not find the key to remove the wheel locks. I told them it was in the glove compartment, and it was stated that they looked through the car and couldn't find it (I mentioned about the glove comnpartment twice). They told me if I wanted the tire roattion that they would have to cut the locks off. Luckily, I skipped the tire rotation, because when I picked up the car, my husband found the key in the glove compartment. I took the day off of work so I could have my car repaired and it is an inconvenience thatr I wuill have to go somewhere else to get the tires rotated.Also,the same day as my car service, my husband left several messges for Mr. Tomlin at Dick Genthe about obtaining an extended warranty, and no one bothered to call back My husband spoke to one of the service technicians about the issue, and the service manager was supposed to call back, but never did.

I dealt with Cindy Mctaggart in the internet department at Dick Genthe Chevrolet and it was the most positive experience i've ever had. It was fast friendly and she even delivered my new car to my house! Reqeust contact with any others that experience issues with extended warranty practices by this dealership.Dishonest practices regarding extended warranty.Repairs performed were very poor quality workmanship.Door that was "repaired" is completely inoperative. Learned to accept vehicle as "3 door model".Taken in several times for same repairs as not done correctly first time for blower motor noise. Learned to live with it.This dealer does not stand behind promises made by sales staff nor perform repairs in proper manner.
