I needed some help getting out of my upside down pickup. I called Mike, with their Honda department, and asked for assistance. Not only did he get the majority of the sale done over the phone, he was polite, professional, and (most importantly) he was HONEST!When I got to the dealership he helped me work a deal that was not only fair for me, but I left feeling great and in LOVE with my new Accord. I would highly recommend Mike!I also want to give a shoutout to Tyler in the financial department. He kept up the professionalism and honesty. Not only did he get my rate lower than I ever expected, their was ZERO stress or pressure.

The absolute worst car buying experience. After going to them originally for a used Honda CR-V, the sales man made me comfortable with the idea of leasing. I had not yet consulted my insurance company regarding quotes, also we couldn't reach an agreement on a monthly payment. I thanked them for their time and they told me they would be in touch. After several phone calls over the course of a week advising me they had received some "new incentives" and getting me to my price point was 100% achievable, I rescheduled an appointment. Now, this being my second time here and having already discussed my price point and being told it was "100% achievable" I expected this to be an in and out situation. Boy was I wrong. They haggled with me about the monthly payment for over an hour. First tried to finesse me into a Accord- when that is something we never discussed- FINALLY we agreed on the monthly payment, shook hands on the deal, I picked out my car, AND ONLY THEN did they check my credit and say that I would have to have a co-signer. When I told them that wasn't an option they said there was nothing they could do. They tried to guilt my papaw, who was with me, into co-signing. It was just an all around deplorable experience. I am unbelievably disappointed in my experience with Don Jacobs. I believe what they saw was a young girl who was obviously excited about a new car and thought that her papaw would do whatever he could to ensure she got what she wanted. I understand that my credit was non-existent, due to me being young and just simple having not credit history. I would not feel this way had they been upfront and honest with be about the process and had not tried and back me into a corner thinking I was going to fold.

The thought of buying a new car is always stressful. Thankfully when I arrived at Don Jacobs and met with Allison most of the stress went away. She made the whole process easy from answering the multiple questions I had to even getting numbers for two different cars. She, along with two of her co-workers, were there after closing to help ensure I got what I wanted at a price I could afford. She even helped me transfer stuff from the car I traded in to the car I had just purchased. This was the first time I have purchased a car from a dealership and have to admit I am thankful I chose Don Jacobs Honda to help with finding the car I was looking for. They were very friendly and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new car who wants a stress free experience.

My wife's 2006 Honda Odyssey developed an AC problem. We had researched the problem and found two common causes that are easily fixed but require potentially costly parts. Thinking that we could wasting money if those weren't the cause we started looking for a service center when we got a coupon for a $79.95 AC inspection from Don Jacobs. Seemed like a good price to confirm our suspicions. She scheduled the appointment and upon dropping off the van with Josh was told that the coupon was for a "visual inspection" only and wouldn't cover our situation. Really !?!?! $80 to literally LOOK at a compressor, some belts and switches without even breaking out tools. I smell BS. We were told that it would be up to $180 to diagnose the problem. It was already there so we told them to proceed. A couple hours later we get a call telling us that one of the parts we originally suspected was indeed bad and would need to be replaced before they could continue the inspection. I had previously priced the OEM part at $150 through various Honda parts outlets. The replacement of this part requires pulling a panel that requires no tools, removing two easily accessible phillips head screws, unhooking a wire harness plug then doing all that again in reverse. It is a less than 10 minute job. Their quote was $253 for the part and $100 for labor. When I expressed surprise and told him what I had found elsewhere he told me that I was welcome to do it myself if I thought I could. Honda sets their prices and they aren't allowed to charge less. I knew Josh was lying. Just to verify I called Gates Honda in Richmond and was told that LIST PRICE on that part is $213. Many parts counters discount from list. These ripoffs are charging list PLUS 20%.At that point I asked how much we owed and was told $60 so far. They couldn't have had more than a few minutes of time in the car but I knew this wasn't going to get better. Remember they had to replace this part to even see what else they could find. Considering this was the only problem they "found" I suspect all they did was verify our description of the problem and picked one of the two common causes we had already told them about.Bottom line - I picked up the van, paid the $60 and purchased an OEM equivalent part at O'Reillys for $75. Once home I had my wife time me on the repair.... I took 6 minutes using only a small phillips head screw driver. AC now works beautifully! If I had paid their quote that would be equivalent to a $1000/hour rate not even including the parts overcharge. I can't imagine how many less informed customers have fallen for their routine. The service center parking lot was full. Do yourself a favor and stay FAR AWAY from Don Jacobs.

I purchased a used car from old Don and got an absolute lemon. The sales person let on that the car was strong and no issues existed. Congratulations for passing on a vehicle to the consumer that had blown head gasket, busted power steering system. My mechanic found proof the vehicle was sealed to hide these issues. Never buy from old Don. This was my sons first vehicle so this really hurts. I've spent over $5K on repairs.

We have owned a Honda Accord in the past for about 13 years and still own Honda Civic for past 15 years. Both these cars have sunroof/moonroof and we have never faced an issue with these cars. Due to this past good experience with Honda, when it was time to buy a new car to replace Honda Civic, we decided to buy the Honda CRV Touring 2016 model over Acura RDX (We also own a 2009 Acura MDX and love it!). We found a good deal at Don Jacobs for the Honda CRV Touring model and were happy to own it until we found out the defect.About a little over 1 month in to buying the car we noticed water stains on the roof of the car from inside. They were all over the roof - in the front, over the back passenger seats. We called Don Jacob and they asked us to bring it in so they could determine what the issue was. They found that there was a defective part in the drainage system that drains the water from the sunroof. They changed the sunroof, sunshades, headliner, sliding frame as Honda has bumper to bumper car warranty for 3 years/36,000 miles. This is frustrating to see that you have a brand new car which is defective and already parts of it have been altered. We took the car from service and inspected carefully from inside to ensure that it is stain free. We drove back home in about 20-30 minutes of heavy rain and next day what should we see! A stain on the sunroof again! So we called the service department and they asked us to bring the car in. I took the car and what they did was clean the stain from inside. They told me that American Honda has asked them to clean the stain and then monitor if this happens again, AT THE COST OF THE CUSTOMER! No tests were done to find out what was wrong or if there is any issue with the new parts installed or with the design of those parts! I was told by the Service person Jeff to come back or call them back if I saw the stain again. THIS IS A LAME SERVICE! We take time off to ensure that our new car has no issue and all that they have to offer is lame service! One thing I know for sure that I am not going back to Don Jacob for service or buy another Honda in the future!

I have only owned a Honda and have loved each of them. I have never bought a new car so this was new and exciting for me. I researched to find the car I wanted. After looking through what was available and what features were on the different models, I finally found the perfect car. It is a car that is not common so to find the color I wanted, I searched the surrounding dealer. At last I found the car of my dreams. It had everything I wanted. The only problem was that it was 200 miles from my home. I called up the sales rep I had spoken to when I started this process. We agreed on a price and they would have this car delivered. I came in and signed the paperwork with a hefty down payment. I was told the delivery time should be one week two at the most. Five days later I texted to get the VIN number so I could get insurance on my car. I was told it was to soon to know that. One week later I texted again and was told this time it would be another two weeks. So the beginning of the third week, I texted again asking for an ETA and the VIN number. This time I was told sometime between Wednesday and Saturday of that week. I text back asking why it is taking so long and express my frustration. Remember all I wanted was a car sitting in a dealers lot. He responded that THEY decided to purchase me a brand new car from the factory and as soon as he knew it was in I would know. If I had known they were custom making it, I would have added on some extras but I was not informed of this decision until it was to late. Five days later I finally get a text and a phone call saying my car is in. This is a full month after I "purchased" my car. My dad and I go that day to pick it up. Again I sign paper after paper. Once all that is done, I've signed for and agree to take this car, the sales guy tells me I cannot take the car home. It did not get inspected after coming off the truck so I cannot take possession. But hey it was good I at least got to sit in my car. That makes it ok right? I have signed every paper by this point and own a car I cannot drive so I went home which by the way is 45 miles from the dealership. I come back into town the next day. They wanted to make sure they could help me set up the car with my specifications. I show up and they hand me the keys and that's it. No set up, no showing of the electronics. So that is my buying experience. How can this get worse you ask? Don't worry it does. A week before my temporary tag expires, I text my sales agent to find out what the hold up is. He says he doesn't know but he will find out. I wait and hear nothing. I text again later in the week and all I get is crickets. My temporary tag expires on a Sunday and I am stuck not being able to drive my brand new car. Finally on Tuesday I am headed in to this town for another reason so I call three times. Finally on the third call I get someone who will give me answers. She says THEY HAVE MY TAG, but a battery test is not entered. I tell her am in town and I will be there in a few minutes to get my tag. I get there and the sales associate asks me if I have seen a small piece of paper with some numbers on it, because this test should have been done before the car was taken off the lot. He thought my car would be in the parking lot and they could do the test right there. My tag was expired remember? I cannot drive it. He said he needed to go figure out what to do. Before he disappeared, I took my tag from him. As he was gone I was looking at the certificate of registration and noticed my car has been registered for five weeks. So I finally have my car and my tag, but they expect me to find time to bring my car to them so they can do this battery check they should have done the day I couldn't take it home. The car buying experience has been tarnished for me. They never called me first to explain any of theses delays. Nor have they ever offered to try and make my experience better by offering any perks. Take my advice - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

This is my third Honda but my first new car. The experience was horrible. First off, to constantly hear that I got a deal and they were losing money was very irritating. Secondly, I left the dealer on Friday because they wouldn't give me more for my trade in, on Saturday the sales guy called and when I spoke with the sales associate he stated if he gave me more money for my trade in would I come in and purchase the car I said yes. When I showed up to the dealership I started signing the papers. I asked the finance guy if the mats came with the car (I was told the night Before they would, they were part of the protection/appearance package) he said he would ask the sales guy. He came back and said they didn't. I asked to see the sales guy. He came in and told me they didn't. I asked to see the documents that show what is included in the car. He came back the papers stated the mats. I asked him again, he said the manager said I don't get that plan(which included the mats) because they were giving me more for my trade in. He lied to me. why didn't he tell me over the phone or at least when I asked him. Was it necessary for me to make him show me the papers...no it was not, . I decided to continue purchasing the car. When I left, it was close to closing time the sales manager was pacing outside didn't say hi, didn't say bye and didn't congratulate me, the sales guy didn't say much either. No picture, no congrats nothing. He told me he didn't have time to show me the features of the car because it was it was time to close. I had planned to come in the following week to get the extra 800 accessories(I spent extra yet they were concerned about a mat). I showed up at the dealership the following Saturday to get stuff done to the car, I saw my sales guy and I asked him if he could show me. He stated he only had ten minutes to show me, mind you there was barely anyone in the dealership. I asked him how long it takes he said 45 min. I said can someone else help me. He said I will help you, he helped me for ten minutes and told me to watch my dvd and read the manual.I am not sure when spending 32,000 on a car is no big deal; but it was to me. I will never go back to Don Jacobs. The sales guy lied and on top that didn't have the time to even show me the features. For 32,000 can't he take the full 45 mins to show me.

I contacted Kenny Adams regarding an on going problem I was experiencing with my 2008 Honda Accord. Although, the matter was not showing on my dash, I had taken a picture to help with diagnosis. The matter was urgent because I was traveling out of state to attend a funeral and needed my car checked for safety. Kenny was able to use the information to diagnose the problem which I learned was related to a recall. I am grateful to Kenny Adams for his professionalism and his immediate attention to my vehicle, due to my emergency out of town travel. I was a little skeptical about going to a dealership for my new car. I didn't want to feel like just another customer to them. Within 5 minutes of being on the lot, my mind was put at ease. Along with a pretty awesome selection of cars, I felt like the staff was generally concerned about my well being and satisfaction of my purchase. Josh Owens was the gentlemen who showed us around the lot that afternoon, and I can honestly say I've never met a sales person with a more caring and genuine personality. I was looking for a used car to pay cash for, I found a '98 Honda Civic at Don Jacobs with 130,000 miles (although listed with 120,000) The car was located in the Auction Access center, in a few days it would be sent to the auction. This mean't the car would be sold "as is", never inspected by Don Jacobs, no warranty, etc. I expressed my interest with the first saleswoman that approached me, she suggested it was selling for $1900. Then she said $2990. I took the car to be inspected, 3 hours and $41 later, the mechanic told me it would need a new timing belt immediately otherwise the engine would fail. The price estimate for this was $600. Still interested, even with a pricey repair in the future, I attempted to negotiate a fair price, but the salesman wouldn't even hear it, They wouldn't sell the car for a penny less than $3600! How does this dealership crunch their numbers?! How could it have INCREASED from $1900 to $3600?! I truly believe they saw me as a young girl who could be easily taken advantage of -- but I knew more about the mechanical workings of the car than they did. At one point, he told me not to worry about the timing belt, that IF the car had been maintained, it wouldn't be necessary. The sale and the car was a ticking time bomb, a money pit. If you have money to blow on a new car, no questions asked, this is your dealership, if you want a fair price and sales people that listen, you should go elsewhere.

I am a long time Honda owner for many years, and NEVER have I experienced such horrible service from Honda dealerships as I have Don Jacobs. I made an appointment for my car to be serviced several days in advance. After the work was done and everything marked that they claimed they had done, The service receipt stated that the service advisor told me I recommended I needed an air filter as well as tire tread warning on....He NEVER DID SUCH A THING! I noticed that the technician obviously did NOT check my rotors while checking my brake pads. The rotors needed turned. I called the service manager and he told me I could bring my car back the next day, being a Saturday and it would be taken care of. I did just that at 10:30 am. They were NOT busy at all and I ended up waiting 3 1/2 hours for my rotors to be turned. OUTRAGEOUS! I had plans that day and could not attend to all of them because their lack of competency in turning rotors. My fiance" has had nothing but serious problems with every service there for the last year and half. Something is broken that wasn't broken before, dash is cut where the service technician did some work, etc. It has literally been horrific. I will drive to another dealership further away, even when out of state, before I ever go back to Don Jacobs, even for the smallest of smallest needs.

I made an appointment for service for Friday 8:10am. This appointment was made 5 days before on the previous Monday after viewing the on line schedule and choosing a day and time that worked best with my needs. I dropped the vehicle off at 8:00am, and was promised it would be ready by 3:00pm. After calling the service department between 2:30 and 3:00pm, I was told the vehicle had not even been looked at. My service needs were delayed because I was not waiting on the premises. At 4:10pm, I called again and was told it would be ready before they closed at 5:30pm. I received a call at 5pm that it would be ready by the time I arrived. Appointments are pointless. Take the whole day off and sit in the service department if you want to get faster service. I am a nanny and was desperate for a good, safe, reliable vehicle. Greg took the time to work with me and found the perfect vehicle for my profession. He made sure that I could afford the payments, I was looking at cars outside my price range and he actually brought it to my attention that a couple of other vehicles would fit better into my budget and meet my needs. He showed me a used CR-V in excellent condition. I love my new vehicle, as do the parents and children I work with. He and the lady who walked me through the paperwork where very friendly and genuinely wanted the best for me. I was in and out in less than two hours. Best experience ever buying a vehicle!

I called ahead and talked to a representative who said they had a car that I was interested in. After making the trip down there the sales associate said "oh, someone was looking at that vehicle let me go check on it." When he came back he said that someone had "just" put a deposit on it but that he could show me another vehicle... I would not have realized that this was a sales method if they were not the third dealership to that to me in a row on the same day. It was not only a waste of my time (and theirs) but I felt manipulated and lied to.

My wife and I were traveling between Florida and Ohio and a warning light came on indicating a problem with the transmission in my 2005 Honda Element. We got on our mobile phone to search for a nearby Honda dealer and saw the Don Jacobs Honda dealership in Lexington. We had no familiarity of that dealership, but called them and they said they could at least check the car, but might not be able to repair it that day. We stopped by and were put into the very capable and courteous hands of Matt Garner in the service department. He was able to not only diagnose the problem but to have it repaired, all in about 2 hours as we sat in the very comfortable and well-supplied Don Jacobs customer waiting area.We were back on our way with a fully repaired car in the same afternoon!I live in Northeast Ohio, but based on my experience, if I lived in the Lexington area, I would consider no dealership or repair facility for my Element other than Matt Garner and the friendly and capable service department at Don Jacobs!

Took my CRV in for service and Matt Garner was my rep. He reviewed prior service, so they wouldn't duplicate any recent work, and reviewed, with me, each item of reccomended mainenance. He monitored the work and gave me a full report at pick up. It was a lengthy service and he called twice to provide updates. He also arranged a shuttle to and from the service that was timely and also requested that the car be heated before they picked me up. Brandon, the porter, was personable and also very knowledgeable about Honda products and services. Matt made this experience very easy and pleasant, and reassured me that I shouldn't need any major maintenance for some time. He walked me to the cashier and out to my car. Matt provided excellant customer service from the moment I pulled in the bay until I left. It's people like Matt and experiences like this, that is the reason I've purchased 2 Honda's and why I've recommended them to my friends and colleagues and 2 of them have purchased Honda's.

Wrote an email to start the process. Met a great salesman by name of Todd Curtis. If you can get the deal done and keep me happy in less than 24 hours then you did a great job. Todd gave us a quote for a 2015 Honda CRV EX L AWD under what Richmond Honda did for a 2014 Honda CRV EX L AWD. I would say he had my back as Richmond Honda did not. Yes they talk to there managers but they gave me a car under all the quotes I got from other dealers. Thank you so much for this experience will recommend you to anyone and everyone.

My wife and I both own Hondas, and we recently moved to Lexington. We both needed some work done, so I took both cars to Don Jacobs Honda on separate trips. There was no problem with the service on my Wife's Pilot, so I made the appointment for an oil change for my Accord. I asked the price and was told $37 for an oil change and I left. I came back the day of my appointment, and got the oil change and asked them to price out a set of tires for me. I knew exactly what tires I wanted, and I told them. When they were done with the oil change and I went to pay, they charged me more than $50 for the oil change even though they had quoted me at $37. I told them I had been quoted at $37 but they still charged me the higher amount. I didn't make a big fuss as I understand that mistakes sometimes happen. Then the service writer gave me the quote for the tires, and the quote was more than $200 higher than S&S Tires had quoted me. When I told the service writer this, he said that it was because the tires were different. Now, this is where they were blatantly dishonest with me. I reminded him that I wanted the quote for a set of Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires, and he said that's what he priced for me; but he went on to explain that even though it was the same brand and model, that Continental made that specific tire differently for Honda than for other vendors. He claimed that Continental made that tire with a stiffer sidewall and that it was made specifically for the accord. I thought that maybe I had misunderstood what he was saying, so I asked him to repeat it, and he again claimed that Continental made the same brand and model tire slightly differently for Honda. I had never heard of that before, so I checked with other tire stores and even called Continental, and was informed that that was simply not true. I decided to simply not go back to Don Jacobs again, and that would be it. But, a few days later, I received a customer satisfaction call about my service visit and decided to let them know what happened, both with the oil change price discrepancy and with the dishonesty regarding the tires. The lady who called said that they would let the service manager know and that I could expect a call from him. That has been more than a month ago, and I have not heard anything from the service center.Perhaps I should have made more of an issue with it while I was there at the dealership, but I shouldn't have had to be "that guy". If their policy is to charge you more money than quoted for service, to blatantly lie about products in order to sell them, and to ignore their own customer satisfaction call results; then I will find another service center for my cars and my money. I am very disappointed in all of this. Since we purchased our first Honda, in 2006, we have only ever used Honda service centers to care for our cars. This is because up until now they have all been extremely professional and honest with us. I was willing to pay the extra money you pay at a dealership service center, because of the quality of service and the way the employees treated us. In just 2 visits, Don Jacobs has brought us back to the reality that there are some service centers that seem to care only about money.

I would not buy a car here. If you do - eventually you will need to have it repaired - and you will want to go anywhere BUT here. Took my car in for body work last year. They did not complete the work and I had to take my car back a second time because they failed to hook up the electrical parts to make the windows work! (Discovered it 2 weeks later when I tried to go through a drive through!) After they told me it was done the second time, I checked it before I left the lot. It was not done. Then they told me it was done a third time, but the windows still did not function properly. After the fourth attempt they fixed it. Then I took my car in for an oil change. I had an appointment. It took them over an hour (I had no other service done at that time!) I took my car in one last time (thinking that the previous two times were a mistake). This time they did not completely reattach the outside molding around the rear tire area. I failed to check it before I took it home (my mistake) and now I have to take it back again. When I paid for the work the bill seemed very small as I had also had a tire rotation and oil change. They said they had forgotten to add that on and they charged me over $100 more. Then I was called to say that they didn't actually charge me for the oil change but just the rotation.I spoke with DAN LEWIS - Body Shop manager. The only thing he cared about was getting me to pay the additional money for the oil change. He wanted to know if I made an appointment to have my car fixed THE SECOND TIME (because they failed to do their work properly). Then he asked if I knew how to use a night drop to leave my car. xxx?! He cared nothing for the fact that his body shop can't fix a simple problem properly.

Sometimes getting service at the local dealership can be an expensive and inconvenient experience, and I have avoided it in the past. Recently, however, I found great reason to trust and use Don Jacobs Honda for my service needs. My car started emitting a funny noise that I thought might have been the brakes. I took it to a nearby brake shop that was more than glad to replace my brake pads, but this didn't solve the problem. Instead, when I took my car in to don Jacobs to repair a broken mirror, they quickly diagnosed what was really wrong. And fixed the problem for less than the estimate. And washed my car afterward. Brilliant!

Took Routan in for 66,000 mile service and an ignition problem. They identified the ignition problem but couldn't get parts because of a pending recall. We were left hanging for a week hearing, "maybe tomorrow". After three weeks, finally got part but they weren't allowed to fix because they didn't know who was going to pay for it because of pending recall. We had an extended warranty on it with a $50 deductible. Ext warranty company, VW and dealership all pointing fingers at each other to pay. I offered to pay, if they just fixed it, but that was not acceptable. Attempted to speak to managers higher up to see about some sort of replacement (have 3 kids and no van is not easy). Dealership would not even consider it. After 37 days of waiting, received it today. Promptly heading to a Toyota Dealer to trade it in so we no longer have to deal with these rude, inconsiderate business. Drive out of town to buy a Honda, BMW or VW if you want one.

Second time my vehicle has retuned with grease all over inside from the service department. I brought my concern to Lance Smallwood's attention. Once I explained this is was the second time this has happened, he got at aggressive attitude with me. He said he would clean it up, but I would have to wait longer for something that should have never happened, or at least been cleaned before I picked up my vehicle. I told him I did not have time to wait, and his attitude became more aggressive at that point. Previous service appointment they checked everything was good on the multi-point inspection sheet. The next day my vehicle had to be towed back because my battery was corroded and dead! I question if they even review the items on the inspection list, or if the service I am paying for is being completed. Be sure to review EVERYTHING before leaving the service department. But be careful, if you questions them, they may be aggressive and have an attitude with you. Just speaking from experience. I don't recommend Don Jacobs Honda Service in Lexington, KY. Will be driving out of town to find better service.

My wife took our 2010 Odyssey in for oil change and a small recall. Service writer called me and said we need rear brakes as they are in the red. Thought that was unusual as the fronts would normally go first. His price seemed too high so I checked around and found a price that was $60 less with OEM pads. The service writer said they could come down $40 but I declined. This morning I dropped it off at my regular tire service center, he just called and said there is absolutely nothing wrong with the brakes, and in fact they are at least, if not more than still 50% remaining. Seems like a poor way to get business to me and treat a 2 time new car buyer. I will have to think long and hard if I want to go back there.

He informed me that while they were extremely busy, he understand the situation I was in and assured he would help if I came in. After about an hour and half(and four spark plugs) later, I was on my way. The understanding and compassion of Cameron was greatly appreciated as I could not afford a delay. Don Jacobs is one of the best dealerships in Lexington and I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a vehicle to start their search there. The experience I had was one that wasn't riddled with greedy salesmen looking to meet a quota or sell you a bad car at a bad price but a dealership where the sales people (or at least the one I was lucky enough to have) are looking to make an honest living doing an honest work and do NOT want to screw you over. I feel like I got a great deal on a great car and wasn't pressured into it in any way. I recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a car while not wanting to deal with greedy salespeople trying to force a sale on you. All they are interested in is selling you a car that YOU want not one that they want you to buy.

I just had another great service visit with Don Jacobs Honda and I attribute it to Adam Ferguson. I brought the car into service with an undiagnosed noise. Adam recognized me and called me by name. As the car stopped making the noise prior to my arrival, he was able to listen to the recording on my phone, quickly figured out it was a brake issue, and checked me in. Within 30 minutes, he was out to talk to me about options, answering questions and educating me on Honda brakes. He is honest, thorough, and friendly. I've not been satisfied with Honda Service in past visits (prior to Adam) because my husband and I didn't always feel like we were being treated fairly...honestly. My fiance and I drove from Louisville, KY to Lexington, KY this past weekend to look at a pre-owned vehicle. The sales person we set-up an appointment with was busy finalizing a purchase for another couple and we were passed to another sales associate. The previous sales associate told our new sales associate that he had been corresponding with us via email. That was a lie. We never emailed each other, we never received any information regarding the vehicle other then what we had seen doing our own research. The add for the vehicle said "leather and heated seats," which was completely untrue. There existed no such option in the vehicle. When we brought this misprint to the sales associates attention he offered no apologies, while essentially blaming it on a key stroke error or error in he VIN number. Regardless, if you misrepresent your products and offer no excusable response it equates to bad business practices, at least in our opinion. Upon driving this particular vehicle we decided that it was what we were looking for regardless of the misprint and went into the negotiation process. We had a particular price we wanted to pay and I'll admit that we low-balled the initial offer. The financing manager laughed at our offer. We could see him laughing through the glass windows of his office. To be honest, as an individual who has worked in the industry, I wasn't surprised he laughed our offer off. However, we came up $2,500 to what we felt was beyond reasonable. Don Jacob's wouldn't come down at all on price. The sales associate simply kept saying, "there is maybe a couple hundred dollars wiggle room," but they never offered to show us what "that couple hundred" would look like on paper. In the end, Don Jacob's wouldn't come down $900 in price. They let us walk out of a guaranteed sale for $900.00, while feeding us lines about how they are "such a reputable dealer and are known for their dealmaking's." Doc/process fees are $445, which is the most absurd price ever for fees. We refused to pay this fee knowing that we were essentially paying someone $445 to make copies of our agreement. In the end, we would have paid the document fees had DJ came to our OTD pricing. Vehicle purchase price OTD was around $18,300 we offered $17,471 - they let us walk away. GM apologized for not being able to get the deal done then brashly asked us if we had good credit, "because they can secure a better interest rate that will ultimately save us money." If we did not have stellar credit we would not have driven an hour and a half to purchase a sporty weekend vehicle. Inappropriate question aside, the interest rate means little to us if the purchase price is over, what we feel qualified to reason, a fair price. Someone will purchase this particular vehicle, will over pay; however, it will not be us. The likelihood of us returning to this dealership is virtually non-existant. On a final note, the staff is friendly, but I would have been just as friendly if my salary depended upon it.

We have bought or leased several Hondas over the years from Don Jacobs and have been more than satisfied with their willingness to work with us to get the best deal possible. The salespeople and manager know us by name and are always friendly and ready to say hello. Service is prompt with excellent warranty service. We love the car washes (and the chance to wander around and look at new cars). As a bonus (unlike the Toyota dealer we visited with my mother's car), Don Jacobs Honda provides free snacks and drinks while customers are waiting for whatever reason and a comfortable area to read, watch TV, or work on ones computer. I only wish Honda was a little more willing to deal on prices--but on the other hand, you know that you are getting about the same deal that everyone else does--of course credit rating and so forth may determine finance charges.

Adam Ferguson and Selena Neal were the two easiest people i have ever purchased a car from since i have been buying cars. i researched the car, called Adam and gave him a price i was willing to pay for the car, Adam did not know the car was on the lot, he stated to me he would check and call me back. he called me back immediately and he had found the car. The car had arrived late on Saturday night, we looked at the car still in the plastic on that Sunday so the car had not made the inventory list from the dealer. Adam put a hold note in the car until i could get my financing arranged. We picked the car up on December 10th, 2012. Adam was scheduled to get off from work at 6.00pm that night, he stayed util 7:30/7:45 ish for us to complete the paperwork. we arrieve at the dealership around 5:45 pm. we were completly finishe with the car deal in about 2 hours after our arrival. The car was a Chritmas present for my wife, Adam went along with the surprise and my wife did not think we were taking the car home with us that night. He had a big red bow on the hood with the car shining when she saw it that night. My wife drove the car home that night. Today is December 13th, 2012 and she is still smiling. Selena Neal was so nice and honest in the financial part of the car deal that i still can't believe she made the purchase part so easy. it was the my first experience with the dealership finincial person having all of the figures correct and all of the blanks completed on the forms. Ms. Neal did NOT attempt to make any extra money from me in the way of a trick. I have been tricked in the past by a dealership in Frankfort that is currently closed for business. i have a 10,000.00 education in purchasing cars from the past. what i mean by this is that i was cheated into paying 10,000.00 more than i thought for a vehicle. THIS DID NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO OCCURING AT DON JACOBS. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMED THIS DEALERSHIP AND THESE TWO INDIVIDUALS TO ANYONE CONSIDERING A NEW CAR PURCHASE.Wes and Jennifer Clark

Be very careful when agreeing to additional services, when the Honda service/sales associate speaks to you in the waiting room. I paid $412.00 for a "solution" to my non-functioning window motor. It turns out the part I paid for was not the culprit in my malfunctioning window. I left Don Jacobs Honda with my window malfunctioning to the same degree as when I had arrived, and $400 less in my pocket.

I wish i had looked at the bad reviews on here and really listened to them. I have purchased few new cars from Don Jacobs Honda. The 1st was a 2010 CRV EX, i then traded it for a 2012 Pilot EX and then went back a got a new 2011 (brand new in 2012)Ridgeline RTL. I never had any problems out of the CRV or Pilot thus far except on the Pilot the back left door is making a noise when the doors look sometime but I told my wife that they would just look at it and say bring it back if it does it again because they couldnt find anything wrong with it so just wait till it completely breaks. The Ridgeline is another story. The Ridge line Check Emissions light came on a few days after i bought it. I called them and they said the gas cap might be loose. I tightened it about 10 clicks and after a few days the light went out, then it came back on so i called them again on a Monday, i wanted to take it in for them to look at it. I wanted an appointment on that Friday or Saturday because they were my days off, well they couldnt fit me in so i complained that hey i just bought this ridgeline and they should stand behind it and then i asked them if i should take it to Richmond Honda. They then said to bring it in and they would fit me in so i did and i got as far as where the service writer sit. They didnt even do any paper work they reset the light and said if it does it again bring it back. I thought well i could have done that myself (reset the light). It came on again (on again/off again), So i took it upon myself to buy a brand new gas cap and yes its from a Honda dealer (a real Honda gas cap), light still comes on. So i got another appointment and took it back, they looked at it and said it needs a part, they would have to order it. I thought finally going to get it fixed, i took it back 2 weeks later, they replaced the part and a few days later the light comes on so Im thinking great maybe its the gas cap, so i tighten it and that made no difference so i put the original back on and it made no difference and yes i drove it for a few hundred miles each time to give it a chance clear up. So i reluctantly called and made another appointment explaining everything again that had happened up to that point and i then took it in explaining everything again. Of course they find nothing wrong, reset the code a tell me maybe its the gas cap............really.....should i buy a bunch of gas caps and put a new one on every time i fill up with gas??? They said if it happens again make an appointment and bring it back. I complained and they said talk to the manager. They said they run their procedure and if it passes it good, they can do nothing more, I say to myself, maybe they dont know how to do anything more than their little procedure. So leave and yes Im mad now. The light came on after about 40 miles were put on it that night. The next day I look on the internet and see that there is a new Factory Technical Service Bulletin on the 2011 Ridgeline that says mil comes on with dtc p1454 and/or p2422. the fuel tank pressure(ftp) sensor vent end joint may have been installed upside down, causing moisture to enter and block the vent. I think to myself, I wonder if that is the problem and I wonder if Don Jacobs Honda looked at this. Dont know and never will know. Ive had this Ridgeline for 4-5 months now and will be getting rid of it soon at a substantial loss. Who wants to drive a new car around that does this, who wants to deal with a dealer who just wants to sell a car but not repair it, not stand behind it, not find out whats wrong with a new car that they just sold me. Its kind of sad that they are like this. I will never buy another car from Don Jacobs, they have lost another customer.

I came in for a repair and was greeted with a warm and freindly service adviser, Monica Bishop. She was knowledgable and gave us great service. No one wants to have to spend money on repairs but if I have other issues I will bring my car back to Monica because good customer service is what makes the difference.

Paid $1200 dollars to have my car serviced and lost 3 miles per gallon on the highway. Returned it to the service dept to address the problem and got zero help. I paid a premium for Certified Honds Service dept to work on my car and received a car worse than before it went into the shop. Their answer take it to another mechanic.

I was pleased with my experience. A woman salesperson, sales manager, and finance manager was refreshing. There was no pressure. I now have a Civic and have never been happier. Car buying does not have to be unpleasant. Go to Don Jacobs and ask for Mary.

On Monday 06/27/2011 my wife, 4mo old son, and I met with a Honda Sales Consultant at Don Jacobs Honda in Lexington KY for a prescheduled test drive of a new 2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L with RES. We quickly learned that this vehicle had been removed in a dealer trade earlier that day, but did spend approximately an hour with another van (EX-L w/o RES). When we returned the salesman informed us that his sales manager was confident that we could get the original van we were interested in returned to their lot, and we went into the sales office to discuss the details. The salesman divided a sheet of paper into two sections, top for the details of the van purchase, and bottom for the details of our trade. In inquiring about our trade he took our vehicles general information (mileage, features, accident history, and existing loan payoff). I then inquired about the existing loan (discussed as just under $3000), and asked if it would be beneficial for me to simply pay it off today before the trade, or trade the car in with the existing loan. He recommended just leaving the loan on it, stating that it would make no difference to them and would be easier for me. This is what we agreed to move forward with. We moved on to discussion of the vans price, to which he suggested that I throw out an opening price, which I did. After taking my price back to his manager he said that this price was a little too low, so I suggested that we table the discussion of the van while I thought about that, and let them go ahead and appraise our trade. After about 45 min he came back with an offer of $13,500 on the trade. He suggested that I make another offer, I spent a few minutes and came up with an offer which essentially had the trade plus my check totaling invoice+tax. I thought their valuation of my trade was too low by $500-1000 so this would put them at a fair price. He took this to his manager, and on his return I produced a copy of our trades payoff information (balance of $2,994.66) and handed it to him, stating that this was the exact number. He indicated that it was indeed correct as we had talked about slightly under $3000 and pointed to the section of the sheet I had signed where he had written $3000 was owed on the trade. He then said Im extending my hand, but going to pull it back, he (manager) took it with one condition, and since you are reasonable I know youll be OK with it.This condition was that I pay for the dealer installed splash guards and the cost of delivery from the other dealer. Their exact, written, counter offer was proposal was our trade, plus a check for $250 more than I had offered before. I had him look up the cost of the splash guards (he indicated it was about $110) and I proposed that I should not pay for the delivery of the van as it would also be putting miles on what would become my car, but I would pay $300 total for the splash guards and the addition of the All Weather floor mats and cargo tray. He wrote this down and stated you dont need to sign again next to this one, we know exactly what you mean. He took this offer to his manager and returned, to shake my hand saying it was a done deal. My wife (this is her car, so we were putting it in her name) then signed a few documents (not the sales contract, just a privacy notice and another trade related document). It should be noted that at this point in the conversation a recognizable contract has been formed though offer and acceptance for compensation. All terms of this contract were also clearly evident at this point with no reasonable expectation of confusion. Adam told us that he hoped to have the van available for delivery before Thursday as that would be the end of the month. As I have a busy work schedule I wrote a check for the agreed upon amount so that my wife could just drop off our trade and pick up the van when it was available. The salesman then told us that he had never had anyone write a full payment check for a vehicle not yet delivered and would have to check with his manager about how that worked. Upon his return he apologized, saying that he had made a mistake and mispriced the deal. He explained that he had neglected to include the trade payoff in his discussions with his manager. He also said that he had no power to really do anything at this point. I requested that he bring his manager into the conversation so that we could get a mutually agreeable arrangement figured out. The manager flatly offered a price $2,995 above where our current deal had been struck. The manager justified this figure by saying that while he recognized that mistakes had been made he could not sell a car near invoice and expected to sell this car at MSRP, if not more.I suggested that as reasonable people we could strike a happy medium and that I was willing to consider any ideas they had, but he refused to budge from his number despite the unique chain of events. It should be noted that the original terms of this deal, did still provide a profit on the sale. I also offered, in light of my conversation with him and truly out of sympathy for the salesman, to work with them to find a slightly higher price that would be acceptable to them, but the manager held firm at his number. I brought up the topic of professional integrity and standing behind an agreed upon deal. The manager that cited that his boss, Don, wanted every transaction to be about profit level on that transaction and held that above any other factor. In summary:I am an understanding person who knows that sometimes mistakes are made. After this chain of events I have great respect for the salesman both as an individual with integrity, and as a professional. He was very open about his mistakes and was more than willing to try to continue to foster a relationship. The manager on the other hand represented himself as the human incarnation of the stereotypical slimy car salesman. His shortsighted approach and unwillingness to even present the impression of willingness to try to work out a solution is a testament to his lack of professionalism, personal integrity, or understanding of how his personal actions tarnish both the reputations of his employer and represented product line within his market. I sincerely hope that the values he are not those instilled by the respective corporate cultures of either the family owned Don Jacobs Organization or American Honda Motor Company. The next day (Tuesday) I made a couple of phone calls and bought the exact same van for a very similar price to my initial offer from a dealership a few hours away. I cannot say enough good things about the dealership I ended up purchasing from, the folks at Penske Honda were great and I only wish the were a little closer to home.

We purchased our new CVR from Patron- he was very helpful in that experience! I would highyly recommend him to anyone who is in the market to purchase a new car. He listens to the customers needs and delivers what is right for them. Shortly after buying our new CVR- we decided that we needed another CRV (used) and we knew just the guy who would sell that one to us too! So returning to Don Jacobs, we purchased another CRV (used) from Patron and our second experience was just a wonderful as the first!! He truly knows how to treat his customers!! Everytime we go in for an oil change we always like stop by to see him and catch up!! If anyone is in the market of purchasing a car- He is the guy to see!!

Erik Traugott made our experience at Don Jabobs Honda very positive. He is friendly, honest and genuine in his approach with customers. We stopped by in Oct just to see if our 4 kids would fit into a Pilot...when that vehicle didn't meet our expectations, he quickly suggested the Odyssey as another option. We would not have even taken a second look at one until he brought it up. We told him we would get back with him near December when our current lease was expiring. His prompt customer service was what made us ask for him when we came in the other night to look at the Odyssey in more detail! He is an asset to the dealership, and we would recommend him to our friends and family without hesitation! Thanks~ :)

We are in the market to buy a new vehicle and have been considering a mini-van -- specifically, the 2011 Honda Odyssey. I grew up in the same church as Erik Traugott, and my husband went to high school with him. Erik was wonderful to deal with -- friendly, outgoing, flexible with our schedule in making an appt. to come look at the Odyssey, answered all our questions we had about the Odyssey, gave our daughter a balloon to entertain her while we looked at the vehicle, and even arranged an overnight test drive of the Odyssey. We want to give Erik and Don Jacobs Honda, a HUGE thanks for being great to work with!!!!

My wife and I stopped by and expressed to Erik our interest in a Honda Odyssey. He called a few days later to inform us that he had a van that might fill our needs. When we saw that it met all our expectations, we were sold. His personal interest in our needs was impressive. He also managed to get us a great deal. After being in sales for over 40 years, I appreciated the time and effort that it took to finalize this sale. We also like the fact that we were not pressured into buying and the entire transaction while friendly, was very professional.

Erik Traugott was very friendly, professional and knowledgable. He was never pushy with me---even after being told that I wasn't going buy anything on my initial visit. I rated this dealership highly because I was up front with the salesman when I told him I was not ready to buy a new car. He said okay and went out of his way answering my questions about an Acura and a CRZ. We test drove one of the cars even though I was not buying and spent a good deal of time on the road to get an idea of the performance ability, handling, turning radius, different modes of driving in traffic and on the open road. He was very knowledgable, answered all my questions even to the point of comparing the car with other brands. We talked a good deal of time about the new options and the possible changes in the future. I showed him my current Civic and asked his opinion about how long I could use it before having to trade. He was very honest, told me why he worked for Honda and what car he drove and why. If all the salesmen I have worked with were as honest as this one I would probably have been more satisfied with the other brands. Don Jacobs has changed. It is one of the best dealerships I have been to in a long time.

This was the best experience I've ever had in purchasing a new car. When I first arrived at Don Jacobs honda, I was promtly greeted by Joey and was welcomed to Don Jacobs Honda. I told Joey that I wanted to browse first, but I knew what I wanted, I just wanted to be left alone to gather some thoughts, and select the color I wanted. Joey told me to take all the time I needed, and when I had questions or wanted to look inside the Civic to just waive me over. After about 15 minutes, I waived Joey over and was ready to take a further look, and test drive. Joey asked me what was most important for me in the Civic, and what my must have's were. I told Joey, great gas mileage, being comfortable, and safety. He asked the right questions, and pointed the important factors of what I wanted. Joey didnt just ramble about things that wasnt important to me like the other dealership did earlier in the day. After spending about 15 minutes going over the car, and highlighting what was important to me. I was then offered a test drive, Joey asked to get a copy of my drivers license, and he also asked if i wanted a bottle of water to drink. The other dealership I visited had a key already, and when we were going over the car, just started driving and once again rambling. Joey asked me if it was okay if it was okay for him to drive off the lot because he wanted to demonstrate certain features of the Civic. After about 5 minutes, Joey pulled in a parking lot, and I was ready to drive. I asked Joey how long could we drive the car, and also could we take the Civic on the interstate. Joey told me that take as long of a drive that I needed to help make the decision. I drove the Civic for about 25-30 minutes on a great test drive route, and also on the interstate. The other dealership, we drove less then 10 minutes before we were back. When we got back to Don jacobs Honda, Joey asked have we selected the right car? I told him Yes, so we then walked to the service department, because he told me that he wanted to introduce to one of the service advisor to have a person of contact, and also if I had any service questions. The one thing that I liked about the service department was the they a pictures of the entire department with the years of services. 10,15,20,and 30+ years of service tech's there, I was very impressed. I was introduced to Kelle, and she gave me a business card. She answered questions I had about servicing the Civic. Kellie told me whenever the civic was ready for service, to call her to make an apointment. As we were walking through the lounge area, which was very clean, and also which had a play area for children, I had already decided i was going to buy the Civic before we even sat down at the desk. As we walked thru the showroom, Joey introduced me to Janet Hoffman, the manager of Don Jacobs Honda. Janet, was very professional and told me that this process would be very easy, and smooth. I told Janet that I wasnt sure if I wanted to lease or purchase, Janet told me that they would show me both options, and I could choose whichever I wanted to do that benefited me. Joey sat me down and asked some questions. I told him, I didnt want to do the back and fourth, that I had a budget in mind that I was trying to get to. When Joey came back from Janet's office, I was shocked that they kept their words and was at my budget range for both the purchase, and lease. I did decided to lease the Honda civic because the term was shorter, and I could get new car in 3 years. I accepted the offer, and was finshed with the paperwork process did not take long at all to finish up. Before I left, I told Joey that i wanted to speak to Janet, I told Janet that I would be back in May 2011, to buy a second car from Don Jacobs Honda for my family. I told Janet that I have a loud mouth and would definetly tell everyone about the great service and how easy it is to do business with Don Jacobs Honda. Thanks again to everyone at Don Jacobs Honda, especially Joey Banbel whom was very professional and Knowledgeable. I drove off in my new 2010 Honda Civic as a very satisfied customer for life. Be back in May 2011.......

When I was in the market for another car, I didn't have a make or model in mind. We were looking for a used one or two year old Honda CRV in great condition, but could not find one. We looked in Frankfort since it is the closest to our home. We found that a new Honda CRV was a very nice car. The salesman went back and forth with us and we finally left. My husband then started looking on the internet for a new Honda CRV. He found them in Lexington, Louisville and Richmond. He told them what he wanted was the final price with everything included and that we would come buy the car. Mr. Greg Hines worked with him and gave the best final price. We then went to meet Mr. Hines and test drive the car. The car was what we wanted. The experience went well and Mr. Hines did what he promised. We are very happy with our Honda CRV.

I can't believe this place is even in business:Well I can say that this place does not believe in the "Customer is right" motto nor the "Service with a smile" one. After having vague threats tossed my way from one of the Service Manager's named Rick, and told "Well what do you want our mechanics to do...drive around all day in your car while we pay them 70.00 an hour?" Well gee, it that's what it takes to actually do the work and fix it then yes genius!!! Instead I guess I paid to have them sit around the office all day and play XBox while watching CSI reruns.I'll never go back to this place and I'll never recommend it to anyone. I probably would have had better luck if I'd let the neighbors dog work on it.Arguing with the customer and saying that if we weren't happy with the service they'd charge us more is the worst business practice I've ever seen.

I bought a new Honda Civic from Don Jacobs and was pleased with the experience. I sent internet requests for price quotes to multiple dealers in my area and Greg Hines contacted me and was willing to offer the best price I could find. He also seemed very knowledgeable about Honda cars, which I appreciated. I ended up buying the car within a week or so after first contact and felt the whole process was very simple and I was not pressured. However, it is a big dealership so I suggest you do as much research about the car as possible, and you should have no troubles. I would recommend Greg Hines if you are an internet guy like me because he understands the internet and uses it more as a tool for him to communicate personally to you and not a gimmick like some other dealers.

READ THE FIRST AND LAST POST AND YOU HAVE YOU ANSWER!!! SAME SITUATION TWO YEARS APART... I would never deal with these people again. They hide behind a "family atmosphere" slogan and that is farther from the truth than you can get. My wife and I test drove a used 2006 Toyota Sequoia and liked what we saw. When we returned to the lot the salesman was ready to make the deal happen. We went back and forth with him and the sales manager for at least two hours. At one point he said that he could not go in his managers office right now because he was busy talking to other sales managers about their yearly report. This statement was made while my pregnant wife sat next to me and had been waiting for at least an hour and a half. Here's the kicker!! We made an offer and they accepted pending that we get a certain amount for our trade in. Well, our trade in was priced 800 less than fair value trade in on both nada and kbb and that is at the worst possible value. We were 1300 away from a deal in a bad economy. When we were leaving the salesman walked us out and said that they were going to find out how much the repair on the DVD system would be (deal contingent) and that he would try to make something happen. Either way he was going to call us to let us know. So the next day went by and I called the guy back to find out what he came up with and was given the run around and told that after a full day they still had no word on what the cost would be. At this point I told the salesman that my wife wanted the car and that if they would give me 500 more dollars on my trade in (still 375 less than true trade in value) that I would pay the difference! I just knew the deal was done... Day three of dealing with these guys and the salesman comes back saying that after the repairs were done they want 4000 more than their accepted offer that never happened because of the trade in. Oh buddy was I hot!!! My wife and I wasted at least 3 hours of time dealing with these people and were insulted at the end. Unless you want to get raped on your trade in and jerked around in a bad economy stay away from these people because I can guarantee you I was not the first and will not be the last person to experience stuff like this from these guys.

After requesting a quote for a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L via email, Shawn McBride of Don Jacobs Honda responded quickly and with the best out-the-door price the first time around of any of the local area Honda dealers. No games, no messing around.Once on the lot with price quote in hand Shawn was a pleasure to deal with in person. There were no hidden fees, crazy add-ons, or sales games played once on site. They were honest and delivered on their quoted price.Overall it was a very satisfying car buying experience. One of my best ever. Thank you Shawn McBride and Don Jacobs Honda.

We were told that Don Jacobs had changed their sales tactics (see the reviews on this site for their BMW dealership), so we went there Saturday 2/23 to see for ourselves. We picked out a Honda CRV and were given a price by the salesman, Tom. He then went to get it approved by his sales manager, and it was in fact approved. We left with the price written on the back of Tom's business card. This morning (Monday) when we called to arrange purchase and pick up of the car we were told "Oh, I forgot to add on the protection package, so it's going to be another $340." I told him that was unacceptable and we expected to pay the price he gave us for the car. He refused to do so. So Tom, are you dishonest or incompetent? In my personal opinion, those would seem to be the only choices in this case. And the irony is that we saved money by looking elsewhere for the same car. Lesson learned as well, we will never be back to Don Jacobs.
