I took my used car for an appraisal, and the offer was soooo low that it was insulting. There are three possible explanations for this: 1) Their markups are astronomical, 2) they were trying to take advantage of me as a female customer, or 3) both. Seriously people - are we living in 2021 or 1951?

This is my third Hyundai Santa Fe. All three have been fantastic vehicles. I've had a 2007, a 2013, and a 2017. My only regret was that I traded the 2007 for another company's luxury SUV. That was a big mistake. The Hyundai SUV is a much more quiet vehicle and rides so much smoother. I learned my lesson!

Our salesman, Tom, was knowledgeable and could answer all our questions. He was willing to find a car to our exact specifications, if we were unable to locate one on the lot that didn't meet our needs. As it turns out, we purchased one right off the floor! We received a fair price on the vehicle and on our trade in. Sabrina, in Finance was thorough in explaining the extended warranty options. The overall transaction went very smooth. Looking forward to getting the same great service from the service department in the coming years!

The finance manager Sabrina is horrible! Goofed up all the paperwork and very rude! Added a charge of $1295.00 on my contract that didn't even say what it was and when asked, she said she did not know! When asked to remove it, she said there is not a $1295.00 charge when it is clearly printed on the contract! This car will be going back because of her incompetence and the dealerships unwillingness to straighten out this mess and I will buy one at another dealership!

I drove almost 2 hours with a scheduled appointment, mind you I spoke with their receptionist that day to confirm my appointment, for them to tell me that the car was sold when I got there! Poor customer service, we were not greeted when we walked in the door, I had to ask more than 1 person for help as they tossed me from sales person to sales person. My husband had been talking to one of the sales persons over the phone for a week, when he went to introduce himself and shake his hand he acted like he never spoke to him. Instead of asking if there was another car we were interested in or if they could help us find another car, the only response we got was "OH NO THAT WAS SOLD" I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!! Ps. Thanks for the popcorn!

We went to dealership and chose a vehicle on the lot and were ready to take it home and was then told there was a recall on something on that vehicle and we could not take it. They found another vehicle with same specs and we went back (45 min from where we live) to pick it up and before we were ready to take that vehicle we were told that something else was wrong and we could not take it. Left again and were promised they would find another vehicle and would have it on following Monday and on Monday were told they hadn't even picked the vehicle up and would not have it for us until late the following day. Very unprofessional.

This is my third lease with Hyundai so I've had experience with various dealerships and I should have went with my gut and stayed with Ganley in North Olmstead. Bill Wares was not honest when presenting the cost off the monthly lease to me. Six months after my prior lease ended, I received a bill stating I had additional charges which Bill led me to believe would be covered if I purchased my new lease from Elyria Hyundai. For this reason, comparing apples to apples from other dealers, I went with Elyria Hyundai. Boy was I wong. As a knowledgeable consumer, this is my only recourse since Bill said "there is nothing they will do to help me." I spoke with consumer affairs at Hyundai and they said "these costs can be waived by the dealerships and often are." We have choices on where to purchase our vehicles and for this reason I will never buy another Hyundai or shop at Elyria Hyundai and I suggest you don't either!

Bought a used car and was promised a few repairs. Was treated very well until my check cleared and then NOTHING! Was supposed to fix a small hood dent, NOT DONE. Was supposed to fix a paint chip in the door, NOT DONE. Was supposed to get me some touch up paint, NOT DONE. Was supposed to fill the gas tank, NOT DONE. Will never go back. Shop elsewhere for your vehicle. We drove 3 hours to look at a used GMC Acadia. We had contacted Larry before driving up there to ask about the vehicle. Larry promised that the car was in great shape and said to come on up and check it out. We took work off early and paid extra for our sitter to keep our daughter overnight. We get there and find out that the lift gate is not functioning and was told that only a GM dealer would have the fuse to fix the issue per techs at the service dept. Then during the test drive my husband felt the trans shutter, and asked Larry about the situation on the transmission. Larry swore the transmission was great and after asking multiple times about the transmission, he again said it was the condition of the roads and it wasn't the transmission. So we purchase the car. Driving home that night it was indeed the transmission. We took it into 2 mechanics and both told us the transmission is going bad, and also it wasn't the fuse on the lift gate. It turned out it was the switch on the lift gate which cost us $180, and on top of that a trans flush to try and fix the issue at $200. The flush didn't fix it. A new trans will cost us $3800. We were buying a new car because his current car's transmission was going out, and here we were back at square one with the same problem. My husband called the dealership and explained our situation. We were told the GM would be contacting us the following day. That didn't happen. My husband emailed the GM, and he finally replied saying he would TRY to call us after talking to Larry. He finally called my husband and basically gave two craps about resolving the situation. He told us that they don't do full inspection on trade in vehicles-that all they do is make sure the car is running and the brakes are working. That seems a bit ridiculous and a bad way to run a business. That they didn't know any of the issues were going on with the vehicle and chalked it up to, it's not his problem. He had every sort of excuse for all of our concerns and problems with the vehicle. Told us he wouldn't do anything for us cause it's not how they operate and that he would take the vehicle back but as a trade in and not for what we paid for. This guy is a joke and it's sad that this man is ok with running his business this way by selling lemons to customers. They definitely didn't mind taking food off of our table. They're mission statement says they won't waste your time and promise to give honest answers, but they do exactly the opposite. I would def. purchase elsewhere if you have the chance.

i would look elsewhere for service. trying to make long story short - you should beware of any place charging for 2 hours of labor (which is pricey $119/hr!) when you are only there an hour. yes, this was really happening (we got the price down). also, we told them not to perform any repairs until they checked with us first (we were there in person, so getting a hold of us was not a problem). they proceeded to ignore that and start work. they then tried to tell us that they had to keep the car as it was the end of the day, and that we would have to come back. thankfully we were able to avoid this from happening, as this would have been very inconvenient. there are lots of places to get service, so we will not be returning. you have been warned.

I leased a 2015 Elantra from this dealership in May 2015. They put on a temporary tag and was told when plates came in I would be notified, well no one notified me, so since today was last day for tag to be valid I had no choice but to go over there. Incredible but the plates were NOT in!! I had no choice but to drive home with a dealer plate on my car! They are totally incompetent at that dealership! BTW I did want to complain about their arrogant finance manager but notice their staff gives names only and no pictures.....hmmmmm.

A $25 Visa gift card was offered in exchange for a Hyundai test drive. I spent over an hour test driving and learning about the Sonata. I didn't buy the car. Days later, after waiting the allotted timeframe, I didn't receive my $25 gift card. When I inquired about the card, calls went unanswered and emails not returned. I can't help but wonder if Elyria Hyundai cheats customers out of a $25 gift card, what might happen to a customer who buys a $25,000 car from them?

I was disillusioned from the poor customer service I had received from the car dealerships around my house, so I took a ride (20 minutes) to Elyria Hyundai and it was the best decision I ever made. Salesman we dealt with was very pushy and rude when we decided we were not sold on the car intended. Our salesman apparently only had commission on his mind. When we decided we didn't want to purchase the car, the salesman made rude comments, about our price range and what we was expecting to get for the price. I am here to tell you, a car will and can last if you take care of it and maintenance it routinely! When we test drove the vehicle the salesman went with us and instead of giving us information and detail about the car all he wanted to talk about was our personal information.( where we live? if we are married? what kind of jobs we had?) This dealership totally disgusted us and in return we will never buy a car from there! We have excellent credit and a good down payment. In reality, we could have purchased the car that day in cash, but with the rudeness we received we left dissatisfied customers! They lost our business with the way we were treated. Hope they don't do this to all there customers or there employees will be all looking for new jobs! Totally disgusted and have never been treated so poorly.

I bought a 2004 diesel ford truck from these guys and traded in my 2010 mazda 3 that was in great condition and i have recites that say they changed the wheel seals in the rear axle after a week of driving it the rear axle broke and when I took it apart the wheel seal on the passenger side was not new and the bearings was so bad that it messed the spindle up to where they couldn't of even got the nuts off to replace it if they wanted it too, also the truck had a blown head gasket that has cost me 4 grand to repair that they didn't tell me about either but they tried to hide it and use block repair in the coolant to fix the issue

Elyria Hyundai is the smart choice in Northeast Ohio Hyundai Dealerships. The Sales staff is excellent, especially Vince Cuffaro. He is very attentive to detail, makes the entire sales process easy and with no sales-pressure tactics that other dealerships employ. When I came in to sign the paperwork, it was seamlessno waiting forever, no having to come back because something wasnt signed or addressedit was great. First new car I ever bought and I couldnt be happier with Vince and Elyria Hyundai.I bought a 2013 Genesis Coupe and Vince scoured the Earth for one. At the time I put down a deposit in October, there were only 7 in the USA that matched my criteria but all were already spoken for. Vince ordered one right from Hyundai and continued to check and keep me informed weekly as soon as the vehicle had entered the port of call in L.A. in December. He even provided me with the VIN number so that I could make arrangements with my Insurance carrier. See if you get that level of service and care from other dealerships!Elyria Hyundai is easy to reach either by Ohio Turnpike or I-90. Their Extended Warranty program is second to none and the dealership personnel bend over backwards to make sure everything is well taken care of. I was shipping online for a new car, and I knew from seeing them on the road that a new Elantra would be a strong contender. I stopped in at the dealership and was immediately offered a tour of an Elantra in the showroom, rather than baking in the sun. Upon looking and asking about what I would be using the car for and a few other basic but necessary questions, my salesperson, Jason, went outside and brought the car I'd chosen into the service dept where it was cooling off. We took a test drive, and I found that the Elantra was a vast improvement over my then current car. When we got back, the price was the same as what had been sent to me online, but the payments ended up being a few dollars less per month. I've come to the Elyria Hyundai dealership for years now since I purchased my car in '07. Each time I have come the staff has been extremely friendly and helpful! The last time I came it was to prepare my trip for a cross country road trip and I asked them to make sure anything that needed to be fixed was ready to go! They fixed everything within one day and my car was as good as new (without costing me an arm and a leg). I made it to California without a hitch and my car is still running smooth. I actually went with my friend when she purchased a car from Jason. Before we traveled there to get her car, I found out about a Santa Fe that had my name written all over it. Because they gave her such a great deal and were so friendly, I decided this would be the place to earn my business. Unfortunately, my Santa Fe was on a test drive for the day :( Lucky for me, the people driving it didn't take it. Jason let me know that my car was still available and he did everything over the phone with me. He even met me half way with my Santa Fe because I am 2 hours from the dealer. I Have nothing but good things to say about this dealership.Drove over an hour to this dealer as they were recommended by family. Had a very pleasant experience. Did a LOT of research up-front and told them exactly what I had to put down, exactly what I wanted to finance and they made it happen, TWICE. Dealt with Jason, Joe and Tom.Bought a 2012 Elantra and couldn't be happier with the car. Took what they had on the lot to make the deal happen (dealers often are more eager to move stock than go out and find a particular color). Not wild about the color but the car is fantastic. I drive 130 miles round trip to work and this car is a dream.Was so impressed my wife and I came back 2 months later to purchase a 2012 Santa Fe. We had been to a couple dozen dealers looking at every crossover SUV imaginable (Equinox, Traverse, Edge, Murano, and on and on) and we found about 2 that would sell for exactly what we wanted to pay. One was a Ford Edge and the other was a Kia Sorento. Of those two only the Kia actually had all the features we were after (V6, AWD and Bluetooth). However the seat in the Kia was awful so it was out. The Edge was only FWD so it was out as well. No one else would deal for the price we were after. No one except Elyria Hyundai. Granted, it took a little bit to get there. A month went by and Jason calls back with some new incentives that put us closer to the mark. They came down the rest of the way (took some doing) and hit exactly what we wanted to pay for a V6 AWD Santa Fe. They even threw in a wheel and tire warranty (doesn't sound like much, until you break a wheel curbing it and realize neither the manufacturer nor the extended cover it). They went and found the exterior/interior color combo my wife wanted and it only took them a couple of days. They even managed to find one with a couple of bonus features like roof rack cross rails and auto-dimming mirror.Anyone reading that can sit there and say, "HA! Every dealer will make you feel like it is very difficult for them to hit the price..." however I am not so pompous as to walk in and expect them to sell me a car for what they paid for it (or less). They have to make money too or they wouldn't be in business. I did a LOT of research on both vehicles and knew what I could expect to pay and they met my expectations, in the case of the Santa Fe they beat my expectations considerably. We had a set budget and when we were shopping around we knew we were shopping a little out of our budget in a lot of cases so we weren't surprised when most dealers couldn't make it happen. Truth be told the Santa Fe was just outside our budget as well. These guys were determined to make it happen and they did. Sometimes it is about how one is treated.Again, I have nothing but good things to say about this dealership. I would definitely come back here for my next car.

Firstly, Chris Giermann, the salesperson we worked with, is terrific. He is extremely friendly and courteous. He found the car we wanted in a nearby state. Chris Giermann was the employee I worked with and from the very beginning, he was patient and really listened to what I was looking for in a car while on a budget. His knowledge about the Hyundai brand was impressive, and his honesty and understanding when I asked questions was refreshing. He worked hard to get me the best deal within my (very) limited budget, and was great with follow up. I live 2 1/2 hours out of the area, and he is so dedicated that he drove the car out to me at my convenience! When we signed the papers, he was, again, very informative and patient. Even after the papers have been signed, he is going above and beyond by helping me set up certain features in my 2012 Sonata! Went on a Saturday to review the vehicles available to us. Was pushed to purchase something that day, but did not have the trade-in vehicle with me. Was told that Elyria Hyundai is the "only" dealership in the area that offers an extended comprehensive warranty (10y/100k v 5y/60k) at no extra cost to the consumer.When the trade-in vehicle was appraised, it was appraised for $2000 less than KBB and $1500 less than a trade-in certificate offer from autotrader.com.We decided on a vehicle, but the neither of the two colors that we desired were in stock, so it had to be sourced. We had a carrier discount; which the dealership claims they don't have much experience in, even though it is the exact same program offered to their employees.My spouse and I were unable to be at the dealership at the same time to sign the paperwork. The dealership went for the "divide and conquer" approach.Here is where they went wrong:-Tried charging for fees that were non disclosed (a sourcing fee, citing that to receive the discount we were suppose to select from dealer inventory. NOTE: Our program does not cite that anywhere in their paperwork. We double checked.) -Used car Manager calculated sales tax for the wrong county. (Changing the quoted price and payments significantly)-Told us that agreed upon accessories would be available at delivery. They weren't. We are suppose to get a call when they come in.-Disclose that the "included extended warranty" has a $200 deductible for each and every visit after the 5y/60k. UNLESS, you spend an extra $500 for their "Maintenance Club". AND unless you come back to Elyria Hyundai, you still have a $50 deductible for each and every visit after the manufacturer's Comprehensive warranty expires.-Swore that they would beat any bank's offer for financing. Yet, their 3.77% provided an equal payment to our bank's 4.11% Leading to a lot of unnecessary haggling.The price was only OK because we argued back and forth to get the payment and financing that we knew was appropriate. If we had gotten their initial price, it would've been "bad".We don't mind a little haggling, but it shouldn't be a game of cat & mouse. This dealership was frustrated that we were educating ourselves and speaking with OUR bank before making a deal. They like to rush through and hope you don't catch them trying to pull a fast one until after you have signed and driven!

Chris was rude, condescending and unprofessional. Upon entering the dealership I specifically told Chris what I was looking for. Then he asked me certain questions that I had already answered when I entered the dealership. I asked him if he had paid attention to our original conversation. Then I asked him to get me an "out the door" price on the car. He came back and told me that his manager said that he could not give me a price on the car unless I was serious about buying. I told Chris that this was not the first car I purchased and that his salesman tactics were not appreciate. I told him that if he was not serious about selling me a car to tell me so. Then his manager came out and I asked the manager if he was the one that said I could not get a price unless I was a serious buyer. The manager said he did not say that and Chris looked at the manager and lied, saying "I did not tell the customer that." I asked if they were ready to do business or should I move on. Then the manager tried to ask me if I wanted the best price or the best value. I looked at the manager and told him that I did not appreciate his salesman tactics either. I asked them to stop playing games. The manager told Chris to get me a price. I sat with Chris and he proceeded to ask me the same questions I had answered two other times. At that point I had had enough. I told him that obviously he did not take me seriously and it was time for me to go. I bought a used Elantra "as is", and almost as soon as I drove it off the lot, I noticed the "Check Engine" light was on. I set up an appointment for the weekend for them to check it out, and when I came in, they told me an exhaust pipe had rusted loose, and it would be $175 to fix.Now, I understand I bought the car "as is", so I can't accuse them of criminal wrongdoing. However, they do allegedly check each car for defects and repair them before selling, and I figure a basically reputable dealer would see this as something they had simply overlooked in their pre-sales check. Apparently that's not Elyria Hyundai's policy.

We owned a Santa Fe, but it was nearing 60,000 so we decided that it was time to purchase a new vehicle with some additional equipment we had always wanted (Heated Seats, Moon Roof, Navigation). We chose this dealership since it was convenient for us. We were never pressured, and we were treated very well. Larry Hamblen was our sales person. He took his time with us, and explained any equipment that we were unsure of. Tom Chaplin was the Sales Manager, who assisted us greatly in getting the exact vehicle we wanted with the options that were important to us. Since we purchased a few months back, we have had our Santa Fe in for service. We have always been told what we needed to maintain our vehicle. Greg Debro always quickly assists us with our service needs and advises us of what services are coming up, so that we can budget toward that date and need. Todd Fanta is many times our technician, and he always advises us if he sees anything that does not seem right. We really appreciate this, since we do most of our traveling out of state and longer road trips. We want someone we can depend on to service our SUV so when we leave home, we have no worries.We would highly recommend Elyria Hyundia for a purchase. They listen to your needs and what you want. We were never pushed toward a vehicle or equipment that we did not want. That is important. Many times dealerships try to sell you what they have had on the lot a long time. Not this dealership...they sell you what you want! They were courteous, honest, and attentive to our needs. The Service Dept is excellent! We have our full faith in their services, and they even wash our vehicle free of charge every time we get service done. You just can't get better than that!

Friday the 13th! This is how it should be; customer service, customer service, customer service!!!All I wanted was to figure out why my car wouldn't start without holding in the start button for 10 seconds (I thought my key fob battery was dying). They immediately offered to test my two fobs batteries and they were both reading 299 out of 300 (almost new after 15 months of use). As if on queue, another gentleman walked up and said, "I know what's wrong, drive in and we'll run a test to confirm; it'll only take a minute."Once the test was done, he also told me that there were four recalls on my 2011 Hyundai Sonata and if I had about 40 minutes, they'd take care of everything (all under warranty).It's frustrating to have something so new, not work perfectly. I left there feeling like I got something for free; and I should have. Customer Service IS free!fyi: I L-O-V-E my 2011 Sonata Sport w/Nav package, which I leased after my 2007 Ford Edge (loved that too, but wanted to save about $100/month which I am when you include gas savings).

Buyers Beware, Beware, Beware!!!!! STAY AWAYFound a great deal through this dealership online through http://TrueCar.com. Called the sales person (Vince) who told me that he could have a car for me the next day. They needed a credit card # for a deposit to hold and get the car. They charged my credit card and the car was not there the next day or the following day. So, I called in and told them that I wanted my money back and was no longer interested in the car. Salesman told me that it was no problem and that they had shredded my credit card information. They never credited my card back. Several weeks later, I get an email from the salesman saying that my car was on the lot and when I called in and disputed, he said, "oh no, you bought the car off of us". "When you gave us the $500 dollar deposit, you paid for the car and that was your down payment". I couldn't believe it, I asked for the sales manager, and he was a complete jerk to me. He basically said, by me giving them my credit card number and the $500 deposit to go find the car, that I was agreeing to buy the car, which is not what I was told by the Internet Sales manger that I talked to on the phone the night I gave them my deposit. When I asked the Sales Manager to put the young lady on the phone who told me that if the car was not there on the lot, that my money would be refunded, he responded by saying, "she no longer works here". The sales manager is Joe and he is a jerk and argued with me for over 15 minutes and ended the call by saying, we held up our end of the deal and got the car here, and you backed out. He also said, "if you want your money back, come buy your car off our lot!!"I responded by saying, I was ready to drive up to your dealership to get my car and it still wasn't there. Two weeks later the car shows up and they call me and say that I paid for it. Needless to say, I called my credit card company and they happily credited my money back and couldn't believe that they did that. Moments after I got off the phone with my credit card company, I received a call from Vince, the original sales person, who says, you should not have asked to talk to the sales manager. We held up our end of the deal and I got you, the car you wanted. He then proceeded to say, that he was working on getting my money back to me. I couldn't believe it!!! Please do not give them your credit card #, go to the lot and see the car yourself before buying, and do your research on the extended warranty they offer. I found only two repair shops 40 miles away from my house that honor the warranty. I don't know how these people sleep at night :( STAY AWAY
