Possibly the worst experience I've ever had from beginning to end. They didn't have the model of Jetta I wanted but told me they did. When I got there, they showed me a Jetta SE 2.5, which was 5k more expensive. Bait and switch, anyone? Then they sold me a "Diamond Package" for some kind of exterior gloss coat - for $700 - and which they refused to honor when I had to have some scratches taken care of. They also gave me the wrong set of keys - the keys were for a different car and obviously didn't work when I tried to start the car at home. I realize they gave me the wrong set and had to take them BACK to the dealership to get the correct second set. They took HOURS to service my car and didn't offer a loaner car - or the free massages or pedicures they tell you they'll give you over on Miller Lane while you wait on your car. I really don't need a massage or pedicure so I don't care but don't offer it as a service and then "forget" to offer it. I was in the dealership for no less than 3 hours at one point. Thankfully I brought my laptop and was able to get some work done. Also, during my last oil change, they replaced a light but didn't put a part back correctly, which made the left headlight go out. I took it to the dealer and they said I'd have to purchase the part THEY lost during the service! Or I could just put duct tape over it. REALLY? You lost the part needed but my choices are to BUY a new one myself OR duct tape it? Is this place for real? I really wish I'd never gone to Evans. I'll never go back. In fact, I'll probably never buy another VW again. Save your time and money. DO NOT GO TO EVANS!

Evans is the worst dealership and service department I have ever dealt with. The sold us a used vehicle with a blown head gasket and now my $18000 vehicle is sitting in my driveway with a blown engine. When we took it to their service department they said that's what a saturn vue does. Three times we took it there and every time they said it was fine. We also had to replace every tie rod end and two axles. Which should have been fixed before ever putting it out to be sold. We had to pay 100 deductible every time for each tie rod which should have only taken 100 to have been fixed one time not three

Extremely shady management staff. Cameron told me one thing and did something completely different. They will do anything to get you in a new car even if it is flat out lying about the terms of the deal. When I tried to resolve the issue with them they said a deals a deal you signed the contract. Patrick and the sales team were very friendly and helpful, but unfortunately there is a lack of leadership in this company which will ultimately ruin your experience. Save yourself the frustration and hassle that the Evans brand is known for delivering!

I recently purchased a used vehicle from Evans. I was looking for a vehicle, but wasn't sure they would be able to make the deal work. I also did not expect to get as new of car as I was able to. I worked with Robert Elswick, and he was great. The process took a while, but everyone was great to work with.

My wife and I purchased two cars within 3 days of each other from Evans, and both had/have mechanical issues after just 1 month. Evans was/is not willing to help with repair costs. Buyers beware when purchasing from Evans, and make sure the vehicle is 100% mechanically sound before purchasing.

This is a just a great place to buy a car. I found a used car online and went in to buy but had no idea that I would be leaving in brand new 2015 Volkswagen. Anyone with so so credit this is the place. My salesperson Jim Hilt helped me get approved and find the right car with all the features I was looking for. Evans is truly a dealer for the people and I have already told all my friends.

Just about as pleasant experience as buying a car can get. I left the dealership thinking we were too far apart to make a deal and Jim Hilt kept working throughout the day to get a deal acceptable to us both. Follow-up the following week was timely and a reimbursement check received in two days. Frankly, I was impressed!

I usually hate car shopping b/c I don't know much about this sort of stuff and had horrible experiences with car salesman before but I can't say the same about this time. Jim Hilt was terrific and he really made my experience a pleasant one. He answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable with my purchase and I actually walked out with a smile on my face.

I went to evans after hearing a radio ad. I had a trade in that I still owed money on. After 3 days of Robert Elswick working very hard, I got the call from him that I was approved for a new van. They paid off my trade in and the staff was amazing. Robert was an amazing sales man and worked very hard to get me approved. He was very patient with me and my calling to constantly check on the status and was great when I had to bring all 5 of my boys with me to sign the paperwork for my new van. Thank you Robert Elswick and Evans Motorworks you have a customer for life!!!!!!

My son and I live 1hr 20 min or 70 miles North west of Evans Motorworks located in Dayton Ohio. This is the first car my son has purchased on his own (19 years old) and wanted a BMW. With myself being a Ford person I did not know anything about BMW's, my son did the research on the internet and found Robert Elswick at Evans Motorworks and gave him a call. My son and I then spent 6 hours with Robert the next day looking, test driving a couple different BMW's and asking numerous questions. I have been buying cars and trucks for 35 years and can attest that this was the best ever experience. Prior to our visit to Evans we had spoke with Robert on the phone about the used inventory. We scheduled an appointment with him and prior to arriving at our appointment we decided we wanted to buy new. Robert greeted us with a smile and was very welcoming. Once we decided on the car we wanted, Robert worked VERY hard to make us a deal. We were tough negotiators! He never once used the typical salesman approach and we were very appreciative. No one likes a pushy salesman, right?! We ended up having an issue with our new car the same night we bought it HOWEVER Evans Volkswagen took great care of us and once again made us happy customers. And again, Robert was right there the ENTIRE time. We absolutely loved having him as our salesman. He's passionate about his job, human like the rest of us, and very sociable. He was truly a joy to work with! We would definitely buy from Robert and Evans Volkswagen in the future. We did in fact recommend Evans to friends of ours who did end up buying a car from the dealership. We love our Passat!!

After looking at several dealerships and talking to many sales reps we choose to buy our VW Beetle from Evans Motors. Why? Because of their representative Robert Elswick. Robert is a very ethical, down to earth guy who truly cares about his customers getting the vehicle they want at a fair price. I highly recommend asking for Robert because he truly cares. Less than one minute after beginning to browse the lot this morning, my mechanic and I were greeted warmly by Evans Motorworks sales consultant, Robert Elswick. He asked me what I was looking for and I said "VW Jetta TDI". He showed me a sharp 2010 model and then promptly went inside to retrieve his price list. Unfortunately I wasn't able to buy the diesel Jetta, but things did work out for me today. I also had my eye on a very clean 2009 Subaru Legacy sedan. Without hesitation, Mr. Elswick offered a test drive and we were on our way. The test drive went smoothly. After returning back to the dealership we sat down and discussed finance options. I made sure that he knew that I would need to confer with my fiance before making the decision to purchase the Subaru. So we agreed to meet him at 2:30pm. After a second test drive, this time with my fiance, we went inside to get down to brass tacks.I was pretty specific about my financing requirements and he made sure to stay within those bounds. I was approved for the auto loan an we quickly moved forward negotiating the price. The actual purchase price was very close to Kelley Blue Book value, so I don't think i could have done better other than buying from a private seller.After agreeing on price, Robert introduced me to the Business Manager who was quite a bit pushier with his sales techniques trying to get me to buy an extended warranty and GAP insurance, paint and tire protection. I declined the "extras" more than once, however he kept pushing for it. He eventually gave in to my stonewalling and we just finished the paperwork.After finalizing paperwork, Robert met us at the business office and escorted us back to the show-room where we chatted for a while longer. All-in-all, I feel my day was pretty successful. I bought a good car, met some nice folks and even made a friend in the process.. Great job, Robert! I will do business with you again.

BEST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!! From the moment I walked in the door the staff at Evans Motorworks was nothing but exceptional. The sales staff was very knowledge, but more importantly they actually cared about what my needs were and found the perfect car for me. Even the sales personal that were not helping me were courteous, friendly and out going. I noticed that the owner Jim Evans would personally thank each customer for there business and that is something you don't see every where. My sales person was Brendin Ernst. He really helped me find the right car, options and a great price!! There finance department and Sales Manager Anthony made the were involved in helping me get the right loan. After I bought the car, they had to bring it in from another state. They had the car there had night and all the options were as I was told. I compared the pricing to other dealers in the area and Evans was lowest by a really large margin. If you are in the Dayton area or Ohio for that matter and looking for a car, go see these guys!!

I just recently purchased a late model used car from Evans and thought the sales experience was great. The advertised price was below the market for the car I purchased and they I got out the door for nearly the same price. Of course they tried to sell the clear coat and waranties and that was a little high pressure but that was the F&I guy and that's how he makes his money. Other than that paperwork guy I had a great experience but I paid cash and didn't have to finance anything so it might have been a little lower rating if I had to deal with the F&I guy any longer than I did.Not following the comments the guy below made about being treated like he had no money. I walked in in my grass stained tennis shoes and ripped shorts (just got done mowing the grass) and they treated me very well. If anyone were going to get the blow off it would have been me.Still waiting on the title though around 3 weeks later. That's kinda scary but I'm sure it will come. I have the cancelled check so it better.

We bought our new 2011, VW Jetta, Sedan, TDI-Diesal at Evan's VW. Kyle Whiltshire in Sales was great! He was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the VW's we were originally considering and helped us narrow it down to the Jetta/Sedan.The buying process was fine; as always, as a buyer we want the lowest price; so of course I would have liked a lower price, but it was the best price available; we shopped other VW dealers and came back to Kyle at Evan's VW because of how Kyle treated us the first time we walked into Evans VW when we began our VW hunt; Kyle's knowledge, helpfulness and friendliness impressed us {both of us are over 50 years old]. I noticed others comments about this dealership weren't so flattering. That was not our experience with our Sales contacts. Kyle Whiltshire was professional; along with his Sales Manager, Anthony Greco. We shop in very casual dress, old jeans and never felt uncomfortable. Both Kyle Whiltshire and Anthony Greco were helpful and friendly always. Ann Conrad in finance/warranty was nice and helpful as well. We purchased the Wrap Around Warranty and the exterior/interior protection because we keep our vehicles for a long time and have found it always paid off to get it on other brands- this is our first VW.Even now when we return for Service, both Kyle and Anthony are helpful and friendly.And the Service Department is super! Helpful, attentive, comfortable waiting area.We recommend Kyle Whiltshire to buy from and our experience from Service there has made us doubly glad we bought and have service performed at Evans VW.We love our Jetta-Diesal. Great mileage--- ave 44+ overall city/highway. Just put the 1st 10,000 miles on it! And the NAV system has been helpful as well. We hope this is helpful.

From the moment I walked in to Evans M, I felt welcome, esp by Chris Hemphill, my salesman. I think I bought my Beetle that day.Each time I've been back, for change of oil, and to have a mirror fixed, I could not ask for more friendly service and such a pleasant place to sit and wait. The mechanics were friendly and I didn't have to wait very long.Chris Hemphill even stopped by to say hi while I was waiting. No other dealership in the Dayton area has been so welcoming and nice to me. (I'm from a Ford family and the nice feeling is certainly missing from their showrooms, so I'm the lone VW lover in the family because of that, and also because VW's are the BEST)You can be sure, when I am ready for a new VW, I'll come back to Evans. In the past, I have usually invested in used cars. Mr. Blackburn was able to demonstrate the savings involved in purchasing a new car at this time. After price checking, it seems that he was very correct and my wife and I appreciated his accuracy and experience. We feel that Mr. Blackburn is an asset to this organization. He listened and directed every step of the buying experience. There was a mark on the rear bumper which the service department was able to remove without cracking the paint and our car was ready and gleaming when we picked it up. We would highly recommend shopping at Evans Motorworks and specifically asking for Steve Blackburn.

First, I contacted the dealer via their website looking for a specific car. They led me to believe they had the car I wanted in stock but when I got there, they didn't. But, they were happy to upsell to me. I felt pushed into buying a car I did not want.Secondly, they asked me if I wanted the Polysteel Protection. When I asked how much it was, the sales guy said, "six ninety-nine." I asked if this was per month and he said no - it's a one-time payment. So I thought it was a great deal and agreed - turns out it was SIX HUNDRED NINETY-NINE - not "six ninety-nine."I also declined GAP insurance but the finance lady gave me paperwork to initial that I assumed was to DECLINE the GAP insurance - it wasn't - it was to purchase it. So that was another $650.00. I feel totally stupid and misled. I am very sorry I purchased from Evans. I would not do it again. Now I have a huge car payment that I am upset about and I feel duped by my ignorance of terms used and the pushiness of the people. I understand it's a tough economy and they are just trying to sell cars but come on.

This dealership seemed to think they were doing me some sort of favor talking with me about the new Volkswagen Golf I was looking at. I may not have been in a business suit, but I make a very good living and did not appreciate being talked down to by the sales manager like this was the first time I ever negotiated to buy a car, in fact I could afford to buy many of the more expensive vehicles on their lot if I choose to and have purchased new cars 5 times in the past prior to this. I was even pre-approved for financing for just about any Volkswagen I choose to purchase. The sales staff never called me back when they promised to, and acting like I was bothering them when I went to look and test drive the vehicle. Just because I dismissed their horrible offers for my trade, $2000 less than blue book, and laughed when they asked for sticker on the new vehicle does not mean I did so because I could not pay that much. I would not pay that much in an unfair deal. When the sales manager lectured me about how trades work while still offering thousands less than blue book and wanting sticker price for the car I knew the dealership was not for me. If they simply did not want to offer me a decent price they should have just said so, not lecture me about their "volumes sales" and "market value" for trades. If they are such a high volume dealer why did they not sell a single one of the three vehicles I looked at during the 3 week period that I was dealing with them? I seldom saw other customers when I was at the dealership and never saw them actually sell a car.
