Our Salesman (Shady Kay) was fantastic. I am 67 years old and have bought several cars and over the years can honestly say Haley Chevrolet provided the BEST new car shopping experience I've ever encountered!! If you are in the market for a new or used car I would highly recommend this dealer. Update 07/2021 Just used Haley Chevrolet Service Department for routine maintenance - The entire staff top to bottom were so friendly and professional. Simple process to schedule an appointment online - Show up and they will take care of everything else!! Excellent service - recommend highly!!

Jason Foster sold us our Chevy Suburban and was great, patient and knowledgeable about going over all the features of the car and answering any questions we had. Stephanie in service went “above and beyond,” helping me move car seats, answering questions and working to get my car looked at in a timely manner. Excellent service. I got stuck at work and was about 15 minutes late. They shuffled me right in. I also showed up with a nail in the right rear tire and they pulled it out, no questions asked. Luckily, it was in the tread and there was no puncture. Great job, Haley! Unfortunate update--- Let me preface this by saying, I have had excellent service from this dealership in the past. That is why I was so disappointed by my last experience. I took my truck in for an oil change and tire rotation on Aug 13th 2020 and was told they could only rotate one of my tires because I had a cross threaded lug stud. I was then told by the service advisor Troy that some aftermarket wheels can cause this if they are not hub centric. Troy was very friendly and was just conveying the explanation he was given. I found it strange that there was a service technician standing there as I was checking out (which has never occurred before in my multiple visits), seemingly ready to defend or explain something. Maybe a coincidence. I walked away not quite satisfied with the explanation. Coincidentally, the next day I had an appointment at 4wheel parts for suspension work. I asked the technician if I could look at the cross threaded lug stud before anything was done. He was happy to let me do so. The lug stud was cross threaded near the tip where the lug nut is applied. I asked two technicians there how this can occur and they both said human error. I also asked them if an aftermarket wheel, hub centric or not, could cause this cross threading. They advised they have never seen this before and the cross threading originates normally from either an over torqued impact gun or misaligned lug nut before being driven by the impact gun. I have no problems with this as we are all humans and mistakes occur. My problem is with the explanation that does not add up and seems like a cover up. A cover up that cost me about 50 bucks. I am happy to talk to anyone at the dealership about this and am even willing to meet so I can see how a lug stud can be cross threaded by a wheel. The wheels don't move after the lug nuts are secured. And if they do move, why wouldn't the dealership say this is not safe to drive as the wheel is moving and causing cross threading. I will be looking elsewhere for service for my Colorado. Thanks.

I found the car I wanted on the Internet. I left my number and was called back right away and was able to set up appointment for the same day. I met Josh, the internet manager and he introduced me to Shady Ray, sales consultant. Shady was very professional and answered all my questions (and that of my family members). I am a multiple time Chevy Tahoe owner and have enjoyed great experiences with that vehicle make and model over the years. As such, I knew exactly what I wanted and was looking for a no hassle purchase that could happen in short order. I called the dealership after finding the exact model that I wanted by doing a simple search of the new vehicle inventory on their website. When I called and asked for sales, Danny Mastermaker answered and was helpful through the entire process. The vehicle that I saw online was already sold, but they found the EXACT SAME vehicle for me through their dealer exchange and I went in the next day to look at the model I wanted.At that point, I worked with Danny in about 15 minutes to secure the appropriate pricing and made a check deposit on the car. I also didn't know if I wanted to trade my old Tahoe and Johnny Junes gave me a quick estimate on my car, we talked for about 5 minutes, and I decided to go ahead and trade that vehicle to them as well. Danny told me that they would have the vehicle on site the next day for delivery. I asked Danny to please have all of the paperwork ready to go so that I could be in and out with my vehicle the next day in less than an hour. He promised that he would do so, which I've heard at other dealerships before and have been disappointed with the results. The next day, he called me at about noon letting me know that the vehicle would be in house by 5:30 pm and he would have it detailed and ready for delivery at 7 pm. When I arrived at 6:45 pm, he had delivered on the promise that he made and the vehicle was ready to go.Danny and the business manager also made the process incredibly simple even though GM's systems had not correctly transferred the vehicle to Haley Chevrolet from the other dealer through the exchange. I thought there was going to be an issue, but they figured out how to make it work through a manual process. They were able to still make it work and I was out of the dealership with my new Tahoe LT at 7:50 pm to pick up my daughter from her athletics practice at 8 pm.I must commend Danny Mastermaker and all of the management at Haley Chevrolet for making this a simple, no hassle purchase. I was very impressed that the management allowed Danny to do his job seamlessly with an eye towards making things simple and quick for me, the customer. Kudos to Haley Chevolet and to Danny! They made the process simple even though they ran into a bit of trouble with the system transferring the vehicle. It's easy to make things work for the customer when everything goes perfectly, but they were even able to make it a great experience with the slight hiccup in the transfer of the vehicle. In my eyes, that's true customer-centric service.

I was greeted warmly by Kent Cole at the door who was very personable, listened well and had the car at the price I wanted. We test drove it to my home nearby and he (and the car) was also well received by my wife so things sped along after that. Everyone in the dealership made me feel welcome, from the manager, the finance guy Kevin, the guy who did the final car cleaning and put the license plate on. We made the numbers work in my favor and I drove home within 2 hours of walking on the lot! I had a few minor service issues to work through in the first week but that was handled satisfactorily. I'm looking forward to a positive relationship with the dealer in the years ahead.

My entire purchase experience at Haley was very pleasant. My salesman (Kent Cole) did a fantastic job with making me feel comfortable in my decision to purchase a vehicle. Though Kent was extremely helpful and informative, he did not attempt to pressure me into making a decision that was not in my best interest. Dropped off truck for oil change and state inspection. Got call back saying truck would not pass inspection because of front brakes and rotors. They said items needed to be replaced to pass or they would put rejection on it and it was going to be around $500. I said no thanks because my brother works at Lexus and i was going to let him do it. I come to pick up truck and they said it passed inspection and they had just made a simple mistake. I am not a fool and having a brother that does this type of work i know what really goes on. Yall knew if another mechanic looked at it and saw it was fine and would of pass inspection yall would be in big trouble!!!!! So yall slapped an inspection sticker on it and said it was a simple mistake!! If I didn't have a mechanic in the family , like most people, Yall were going to charge me $500 for stuff I didn't really need and that is totally unacceptable and deceitful!!!!! Haley Chevrolet should be ashamed of themselves!!!!! I will never go back there and neither will any of my family nor anyone I can share this experience with, which will many!!!!!!!! I cannot believe in what lengths some people will go to squeeze money out of people who don't have it!! Yall are a disgrace!!!!! Have a good day.

Over all I am happy with my experience at Haley Chevrolet and their employees. Was disappointed at the completion of the purchase of my used vehicle to learn that it only came with 1 key and programmable remote! When I asked if they could provide one, I was informed that they were not making any money on the vehicle sold, period. CHEAP, didn't even hear an attempt to sell one at cost or sell one without the "programing charge" which is nuts.

I travelled in late from out of state to look at a truck Haley had advertised online. Kent (legendary salesman) had it all ready for me when I arrived. After all that, the truck was just not going to suit my needs. Kent did not leave it at that. I have been wanting a Used Cadillac SRX and have been shopping for one for a couple of years. I saw this one advertised in the news paper, so I pulled it up on line and looked at it. It looked neat as a pin online and they advertised it that way. On Friday I called the dealership to ensure that they still had the car before driving from our home in Eastern Goochland to Powhatan. They asked me what time would I be onsite. When I arrived it was very hot out and they had the SRX parked in the shade and cooled off and ready for us. It was everything that they said it would be as far as being clean and appears to have been very well taken care of. Charlie explained all of the features to us and we went for a test drive. He was a very good sales person as he did not pressure us about buying the car, but instead just wanted to make sure that we understood how all of the features operated. We bought it and feel like we got the best possible deal that a dealership would give you. It certainly was worth the drive and I would definitely deal with them again!!

Just want to thank the techs and service writers at capital/Haley of powhatan VA. I limped my car in late night last week after some squirrels decided to make a meal out of my wiring harness and some injector wires as well. Both Chris and todd communicated with me early the next morning what had happened including pictures of the damage I couldn't see the night before. I like to think any lesser dealership would have told me I needed a whole new wiring harness, but instead they took the time to repair only what was necessary, and completed the work before lunch time the next day... Kevin was not at all up front with me about the issues the 2004 Jeep Liberty had. He or the dealership did everything they could to cover up or hide the problems with my Jeep. They/he adjusted the stero so that the ONLY good speaker in the vehicle was operational the other three were completely blown. Additionally, two window regulators failed one only two days after the sale was complete and the second after about two weeks. I offered to buy the parts and asked if they would install them for me. I was told the vehicle was "AS IS" an it was my problem. Now after almost 2 1/2 months post sale I still don't have the title to my Jeep because of their errors and the when they did receive my title back from DMV instead to mailing it to me on the day they said they would it sat on another persons desk over the weekend and didn't get mail becasue he didn't want to delay his vacation. So his time is more important than his customers satisfaction. BAD SERVICE, BAD CUSTOMER RELATIONS AFTER THE SALE. ALL SMILES AND HAND SHAKES PRIOR TO THE SALE!!! I'LL NEVER DEAL WITH CAPITAL EVER AGAIN!!!!

Charlie went out of his way to make sure that the car was right for us by offering test drives and information.If we ever have a problem with the Cruze, and when we have a problem with our older vehicles, I know that Chris and Kris will treat my family as a member of theirs would be treated. I also know that Sparky will make the repairs in such a way that the vehicle is safe and the repair cost is as low as possible. If Sparky recommends a repair, you should get it done.This is a country dealership. No slick-haired salesman who have a deal "if you sign right now." Just honest people that you can actually talk to. I've seen customer stop by just to say hello or drop off food. Oh yeah, they had the lowest price on the Internet too.

I was in the market for a used Volvo 240 (yes; I know; a very old car, and not one that one normally aspires to have) to have as a second car and as a sort of a restoration project. I went on Cars.com and set my range pretty far out, since 240's are not exactly the most plentiful of vehicles. I happened to come across one on Capital's lot that had 158,000 miles on it, so I sent an inquiry in on it. I also clicked on the link to Capital's website and did a little research on the dealership to make sure they were reputable. I live in New Jersey, so if I was going to make a 5-6 hour trip to purchase a special vehicle, I wanted to make sure these people were straight up.I came across Kelley Rourke's name on the website; she was listed as an internet sales representative, so I decided to send her a message with all the information she would need to get back to me, as well as all the information on the car. This was on a Saturday night; I figured I would be hearing from her sometime that Monday around 10-11:00. Nope. Maybe Tuesday......no....not Tuesday. As a matter of fact, it took her quite some time to even acknowledge me....9 DAYS, IN FACT!!!! By this time, I figured that the car had been sold or wholesaled,as she was sending me "blow off" emails to make it look like she was doing her job and providing *cough cough ahem* "great" customer service after what I can guess was deliberately dragging her feet on a lead that she thought was some "poor" bum all the way up in New Jersey who wanted a 22 year old piece of junk and was likely only playing on the internet after a Saturday night looking at porn online. News flash.....the last time I checked, I was a Public Safety Officer at a county college up here in New Jersey making $45,000 a year, a part time armed security guard making another $30,000 a year, college educated, and the owner of a 2009 Toyota Camry SE THAT I JUST PAID OFF!!! I don't think "bum" or "poor" are accurate descriptors here.....and the porn thing; not exactly my cup of tea.Anyway, by the second "blow off" email in which she failed to provide me any pertinent information, as I had requested, or even reach out to me via the telephone to give me a price or even let me know the vehicle was still available, I sent her a very strongly worded response letting her know that I was not at all happy about her very obvious apathy to my inquiries. Her response to this......well; we're still waiting on that one. Judging by her track record, and the time in which I sent it, I should be hearing something any day now!I sent an email to the Dealer Principal, Mr. Poulos, as well, to express my dissatisfaction, and he has very obviously taken no interest in the fact that a cash buyer with $4,000 in hand, ready to possibly make a trip down to Virginia to buy a car from him was treated like something on the front lawn that was ALPO the previous morning, if you know what I mean.Now, will I ever buy a car from Capital? No....especially after this, and additionally not likely, considering the distance between my home and them. Will my neighbors ever be considering a purchase from them, being that they are so far away? Highly unlikely. However, if you are reading this, you are likely considering a purchase from them, and educated enough to know to steer clear of them. If they treated me like this, who is to say they won't treat YOU like this? I was obviously pre-qualified and judged sight unseen, so this is not obviously an organization you want to buy from. As for Ms. Rourke, I'm going to guess that she didn't learn the part of the sales process that says that EVERYONE IS A BUYER, and she must've fallen asleep during the film on professionalism and prompt follow up!

When the dealership was sold I transfered my business dealings to Capital GM in Powhatan because it was much closer to my new location in Amelia Va. The entire staff at Capital has been very friendly and knowledgeable. I have bought and traded several cars and trucks from them. I wouldn't go anywhere else for service or a new vehicle even though GM as a company is getting a lot of bad publicity relating to it's govt. dealings and out of the country dealings namely communist China. They were more than fair in the appraisal of my trade, and they maintained a low pressure approach which I appreciated. Our buying experience at Capital Chevrolet was a very good one. Charlie Brown was the salesman who worked with my wife and me. He showed us the cars we were interested in, both new and used. He had us test drive both cars that we were interested in, and worked up what we felt was a fair price. We had been to several dealerships, but we found that Charlie was more knowledgable and understanding in the type of vehicle we wanted. We bought a 2011 Terrain last year from your dealership and worked with Kelley Roarke. She was very friendly and helpful during the sale. She has also been very helpful since the sale in March 2011. I lost my wedding ring in my car last September, and could not find it. She made an appointment for me at the GMC dealership on Laburnum to take the driver seat out of the vehicle, and they found my ring. I can not express how happy I was to find my ring. Kelley is always helpful no matter when I email her or what my email is about. We have used the service department once and they were also very nice and helpful. I would like to say that Chris is an asset to your company! I had just brought an 2008 Suburban and had it only 2 weeks and notice the door handle was falling off and my battery had left me stranded 2 times. Chris had fixed all my problems with a smile and made me feel like a valuable customer! 2001-2012 I have driven Chevy (police package) Impalas. During my 40 years of public service I started my career driving the full size 440 Plymouth. The time span and changes in styles afforded me the chance to drive many styles of interceptors and at speeds/conditions the average driver should not encounter. The modern Impalas proved to be the most responsive and reliable vehicles I drove. With my retirement I began to seek a replacement for the Impala that had been my daily driver. After weeks of checking out other front wheel drive cars (a definite Impala handling advantage) that offer comfortable 4 adult seating and ample trunk space I returned to seeking a new Impala. Reviewing web info and afternoon lot visits resulted in a drive to the Powhatan, Capital Chevy GMC site. Upon arrival I was greeted by Kent COLE; salesman. He started by asking if he could assist... and then he listened to what I had to say without trying to direct the conversation or redirect my stated goal. I found Kent to be as comfortable to work with as it would have been to be chatting with an old friend. His actions resulted in me driving away in a 2012 Impala. From my purchase experience, Capital can do no better than Kent and Carla. Even though Carla had the task of taking my money, she made it and the pound of paperwork painless! Don't know if I will be successful in providing future sales but my family and friends will now be directed to Capital (Kent in particular) when they mention they are in vehicle seeking/purchase mode. I have not had a better car buying experience; the 45 minute drive was well worth it. No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care! Thanks for caring Kent.

Late last year, test drove the 2011 V8 Camaro convertible. Although I loved the look of the car, didn't like the way it drove or handled, or the pricetag! I had given up on the Bumblebee and was even looking at Ford Fusion hybrid and Edge, but not ready to move on anything. Suddenly got call from Kent last Thursday. They just got in a pre-owned, low mileage 2011 V6 yellow Camaro convertible. My husband and I went over that night, test drove it and told Kent I wanted my mechanic to look it over first. Next day did so, passed with him so Friday afternoon, effortlessly and hassle free, traded in my 1999 Aurora and drove home my Bumblebee! This is my first convertible and 3rd Camaro -- actually still have my 2nd Camaro (1981). Kent had been looking out for me since I told him and his manager that the other one was over my budget. When this one came in to the dealership, he thought of me! Today, they are putting the protection package and detailing the Bumblebee. Carla was a joy to work with...knew her already. Got great deal on financing.Thanks to Kent's tenacity, I got my Bumblebee. BTW, the V6 has great acceleration even with better gas mileage!

I went initially just to drive two Impalas. I was just beginning my search for a new car. I didn't want either of the cars I drove, but I left thinking that no one tried to pressure me into anything. There were no cheesy sales pitches. The manager even offered to look at a car I was considering that was being sold privately. The next day I went back to drive the Malibu and loved it. I feel like I got a good deal. I did research on line for many hours before purchasing. Kelly knew everything about the vehicles. She answered questions before I asked them. We had fun talking and laughing, but she was always very professional. Carla was a wonderful finance person. She did not try to sell me anything extra or push me into anything. She made recommendations. She also found me a better interest rate than my credit union had promised. This was my first experience purchasing a vehicle on my own and they made it a good one. I would definitely recommend them (already have) and would definitely go there again.

We have been using their service department for a year or so and have been very satisfied. So when we were in the market for a used vehicle we wnet there. We found several that were good candidates. Peggy Beach was most helpful and professional. She worked at our pace and was not too aggressive. We found what we thought was the perfect vehicle ubt wanted to look around at other dealerships. We were not given the scare tactic of "it may not be here when you come back. We looked around and found that the vehicle and price at Capital were the best. When we returned we purchased the vehicle and found there are other benifits to purchasing from Captial. In addition to the no pressure sales, we got free inspections and a great service department. Peggy was friendly and we were generally more comfortable at Captital that we have been at other dealerhsips. The entire purchase process was painless and quick. We have been at other dealerships for many hours just trying to purchase a vehicle.One thing that I was most impressed with was the "Service Walk". Peggy took us to the service department, even though we were already customers. I purchased my Chevy Traverse from Capital Chevy after Travis took the time to drive it to my house personally for me to test drive. Ii was very cold-too cold to drag along my 2 yr. old granddaughter. I had several minor problems with it and every time I took it in, Chris helped me right away. It had to be taken in multiple time until all problems were resolved. The whole service department was so great to get everything corrected. Travis would take the time to come back to check on the progress even though his selling part was done. I am so thankful I found this dealership and still drive over 60 miles one way to have all repairs, maintenance, and state inspections done by them because they are the best. These are people you can trust. I have no qualms taking it in when there's a problem and giving them the OK to fix whatever and knowing I won't need CPR when I see the bill. They fix what needs to be fixed without finding other things to add on. Kudos to the service desk and the mechanics. They are all courteous and professional.

I recently purchased a used 2008 Chevrolet Suburban from Capital Chevrolet Buick GMC. I found the vehicle on the internet and then contacted Victor Storrs to obtain more information about it. I live over 300 miles away from the dealership and once all the details were worked out and we had decided on a sales price, I agreed to fly into Richmond and drive the vehicle home. Victor transfered the Suburban from their Powhatan lot over to their dealership in Richmond which is right next to the airport. I was met at the airport with my vehicle and taken back to the dealership to complete the paperwork. This is the first used vehicle that I have ever committed to purchasing without actually looking it over and test driving it first. Victor answered all of my questions and even took a few extra pictures for me. I have been extremely pleased with both the vehicle and the sales experience at Capital and I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a new or used vehicle.
