My first visit and I was truly pleased. Even saved me the cost of a maintenance visit! And with a second visit the problem was fixed quickly and I remain pleased. Very satisfied with my third visit. A service reservation went missing, but they took me in anyway, got directly to work and finished the service in great time. Still pleased with the service I received. An out of sequence need to have a tire patched took longer than expected. But they did the service gratis and I left very pleased

A very pleasant experience, we knew what we want to look at from an on line visit, everyone very friendly, helpful, and no pressure, not pushy. We test drove, sat down as the salesman had another he was tending to. Polite, respectful, to be honest I didn't expect to be treated in such a way after a very bad experience at another dealership! This kind of treatment is rare in today's world and I want to think the staff we met and spoke with for that! In closing all I can say is keep up the good work and I will tell people about it!

Wow! What a great experience here with Steve Holmes as our sales professional! I mean seriously, I have bought many cars at many different dealers and I have NEVER been so satisfied with the entire experience! Steve knows his stuff, he’s kind, easy-going and gets things done! Harper Volkswagen, Shannon Harper, and my sales person Steve Holmes are outstanding. Going in solo to the dealership I never felt that I was being taken advantage of and I always felt that my concerns were being listened to. My sales person, Steve, patiently worked with me to narrow down my choices and explained purchase/lease options that were available. He went over the pros of each vehicle I was interested in and throughout that process I never felt pressured to make a snap decision nor did I feel like I was being pushed towards a more expensive option(s). While I was making a decision between leasing and purchasing Steve remained in contact with me via text message and was available to answer any questions I had. When I decided on a purchase Steve took my financial application over the phone. This meant when I came into the dealership to finalize the transaction I was there for less than an hour signing paperwork and going over the features in my new car. I’m extremely happy with my purchase and while I haven’t used the service center yet I was introduced to the team and given a tour of the facilities. An unexpected bonus to making a purchase at Harper is the complimentary trial of Harper Auto Wash. Wow! The service was outstanding and frustration free. My car came out looking just as good as the day I picked it up. This was my first purchase from Harper and I will definitely recommend them to anyone in the market to purchase a Volkswagen.

Went to Harper on a Friday morning looking for a Toureg to test drive. Test drive the only one on the lot and loved it but it was not the color we wanted. Trevor found one in Huntsville, AL that was the color we wanted. We were going out of town on Saturday. We really wanted it and told him if he had it there by Saturday morning we would come in and sign the papers. Trevor delivered as promised. It was clean and spotless when we arrived, Rick processed the papes, we. signed them and drove our new Toureg out of town on vacation that afternoon.

Like most people I was at first skeptical about taking my Passat the the "stealership" as dealerships are often called. For warranty work though you really don't have an option so I made an appointment and dropped my car off for service. I was provided a loaner car free of charge while mine was being checked out and that is always helpful. The repairs ended up taking most of the week due to parts having to be ordered, but at 4PM on Friday I got the call that my car was ready. I've only driven my car for 2 days or so after the repair, but everything is running like a Swiss watch. If there are any other major repairs in my Passat's future I'll certainly be going back to Harper VW.

I had to have my car towed in and wasn't sure if it would be dropped off prior to the close of the service department. When I explained the situation to Steve Nicole, my service rep, he assured me they would take care of everything once the car was delivered. He also told me what the potential problem might be and how much it would cost to do the repairs.My car was dropped off while Steve was still at the dealership and he called me to let me know it had arrived and they would begin work on it the next business day. When they got it into the service bay, they discovered the problem was not what Steve had originally thought and that the cost would be about half of the original quoted. The repairs were completed and I was able to pick up my car that same day.Steve and all the service reps have handled any and all service/repair work with the utmost courtesy and are always friendly and knowledgeable. I would and do recommend Harper VW to friends and family for both purchasing a car and service.

I was leaving Corbin Ky and my fuel cylinder gave out. I had to have my car towed to Harper VW on a Sunday. I left the car and utilized the night drop box. I was called early the next morning and told what the problem was and the car was ready in an hour.

After 3 mechanics looked at my car and couldn't diagnose " the problem ", I decided to go to the dealer. When I pulled my car up to the garage the morning of my appointment, the service man said he heard me coming and said it sounded like ..... Well..he was correct!! They had me fixed and back out on the road in a jiffy!! Kudos to the service department.

I used email and a couple of phone calls to get what I wanted. Working with their Internet Manager Phillip and JR they made it easy. They got the car I wanted transported to the dealership. I showed up once at the dealership, test drove the car, and left with car feeling good about my purchase. The whole process took just over an hour. I got want I wanted for what I feel was a fair price.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you, i cant say ot enough. Harper vw really got me out of a bad situation when my 06 gli started having problems 10hr away from home. They got my car done before my scheduled appontment and did exactly what i wanted them to do. They were not pushy about any other reapirs and the whole service team was amazing. Thank you so much to my service advisor Steven Nicole for getting my vehicle serviced promptly and keeping me informed the whole way. I highly recommend this dealer if you are habing any trobles with your vw even if you live in the area or from out of town. They treated me fairly and like i was a regular. The engine came on and Harper arranged a loner car so I woul not miss work. Dropped my car off in the evening and by 8 AM they found the issue and let me know what it was and repair costs. Car was done shortly after lunch and when I picked up that evening the cost was exactly as quoted. Steve did a fantastic job as the service consultant. Harper has done all the maintenance and continues to do an great job.

I took my Tiguan in for an oil change without an appointment late in the morning last Monday. As I have found is always the case at Harper's, the reception was courteous and prompt. The needed oil change was quick as usual, priced fairly and delivered back ready to go by noon. As a bonus, the car had been washed ... and, although unexpected and unasked for, very much needed and greatly appreciated. In my almost 60 years of driving both personally and for business, I have owned many vehicles. Cars from Studebaker to BMW, trucks from Ford to Peterbuilt, and equipment from Caterpiller to John Deere and, over the years, I have dealt with many dealers ... some great and some less than great. My introduction to Harper's was in 1982 while buying a new Jetta diesel, followed later by three other Jetta diesels. Most recently my wife and I are driving a Tiguan gas and a Passat diesel ... Harper's has provided service for all. I feel very qualified in saying that Harper's (and their staff) have been and remain unsurpassed in all areas ... including facilities, sales and service. Thank you Harper's ... now, when will you offer a diesel Tiguan???

Rarely is a visit to the service department a pleasure, but this one was. Took my Golf in for the 30k service. Service technician was friendly and informative. I had reserved a loaner car in advance. It was ready. Check in was fast. On my way in less than 5 minutes! Received a call that car was ready a couple of hours before I had said I needed it. Returned to pick up my car, checked out, again in less than 5 minutes. No surprises. Note: your car has always been washed when you lock it up!

While driving to Indy for the race we came across an engine sensor that I knew was related to the turbo on our 2014 Tiguan. It had been in before at my local dealer in Charleston SC. But we found Harper online as we were leaving the smokies and stopped in to get an assessment. Turns out we had to leave the car and get a rental to finish our drive. Being a holiday weekend it wasn't know if the car would be ready for our return trip to Charleston after the race in Indy. But the service team lead by Chris Ramsey. He was very upfront about the turbo issue and what had to be done. I was relieved to hear it needed to be replaced as that was not the position my regular dealer had. Car had been in twice before for turbo issues and no full analysis ever lead them to replacing the unit. Chris and his team worked very hard to get us rental options, and kept us informed on the progress of ordering the part and when it would be ready. The Tiguan was waiting for us when we made our return trip home. Plus chris informed us of the warranty trip interruption assistance we could apply for. So I'm very pleased to say they did an awesome job and if I lived in Knoxville they would be my dealer I would use for both my VW cars.

We were facing a dire situation when one of the alloy rims started to leak due to a defect while on the road from ATL to Cincy for a family wedding - We lucked out by finding ourselves at the exact exit where Harper VW dealership was situated as the tire was rapidly loosing pressure. Steve couldn't have been more professional in seeking alternative after alternative given the rim would not be able to be shipped in to the dealership until the following Monday. Could go into details on all the hoops he jumped through to accommodate us and get us back on the road to attend the wedding, but it would be a lengthy review...suffice to say, I wish we had Steve and his customer-centric approach at my dealership back in Kennesaw GA!

While staying in Pigeon Forge we saw the engine warning light illuminate on our 2015 EOS. We found Harper VW in Knoxville on line and made a phone call. About an hour later we were greeted by Steve Nicole, the service consultant at the desk. He had us sit in the comfortable waiting area along with our two poodles offering us refreshments. The diagnosis and repair took most of the rest of the day but the results were positive. He offered us the use of a loaner car and directed us to a local park where we were able to have lunch as well as allow the dogs some play space. After our car was ready he sent us on our way after having made the best of sharing our day with new friends at Harper VW. We would recommend this dealership and the employees there to anyone in need of emergency service for their VW while visiting the area. Thanks again Steve for your kindness and assistance.

I called to ask how much to fix my window and was quoted a price between 130.00 to 150.00. After they took my door panel off he came out and said that it was over 500.00 to fix it and that I had an oil leak which totaled up to 1,500.00 all together. There is NO oil leak. I'll never do business with them again. As a matter of fact I went down the road and traded my car. No more VWs for me.

All of the service personnel are very professional and courteous. I've driven VW's for over 10 years now, and the Harper service team is part of the reason. I always feel like they are treating me fairly and not trying to squeeze every last nickel out of me as one can often feel in an auto service shop.

So my car needed the 69L2 update. I called up on a Saturday morning and was told over the phone that they should be able to work my car into the schedule. I stopped by and Mr Nicole greeted me, he was very polite and smelled like a fresh chocolate Hersey bar, with almonds. Mr Nicole asked if I needed a loaner car. I appreciated the offer, but a loaner car was not required during my visit.My car was pulled into the shop where a tech named Donnie performed the service on my vehicle quickly. Donnie, who smelled like fresh baked cookies, is an expert at all things 69L2! It is great to see a highly skilled technician who is also enthusiastic about the product he works with.While I was at the dealer, I purchased some parts for my car from Levi, who smelled of fresh pop corn and not because there was fresh pop corn in the pop corn machine in the lobby... Levi is just amazing like that. He was able to identify what parts I needed for my car quickly and had the requested items on the counter in minutes. He is like a machine I tell you what!As always, I do highly recommend Harper's, the staff is great. Having sold me 3 VWs, I'm sure a 4th will be happening sooner rather than later.

I purchased this car used from someone who had purchased from Harper, so I took it there when my engine coolant low light came on. I was able to get in on short notice on a Saturday, Steve Nicole greeted me, had the first look at the car, and gave me the keys to a loaner (a beetle convertible...YEAH!). I had a few phone updates from Steve, including one letting me know that the service was covered under the vehicle warranty. And a few days later, I was able to pick up my car, which had been fixed and washed (thank you!). Great experience. Thank you!

Second experience at Harper and look forward to the next!! I explained to Trevor what I was looking for, we went back and forth a couple of times( he won). I came by at lunch for Kimo to look at my car and fill out a application. He went over a couple of things with my car and very polite so to the application I went. I loved the car and had seen it before. Direct: In the years I have had my 2007 EOS I have never been disappointed in the way Steve in the service department has treated me His direct and honest responses to the need of my car has been direct and to the point of what it need and what they need to do to it. When the cost is high and I complain, he tries so hard to get me some kind of discount to make the expense a little less painful for me. I thank you Steve for all you do for me and for listening to my complains and working with me through the problems. Now as to the tech that work on car, all I need to say is that they need to be more careful with giving back a car to the customers that those not have dirty finger marks in the interior and be sure to admit to damage done when working on the customers cars.

The service desk was crowded, but moved quickly. Service manager took the time to discuss some issues . I did have an appointment and a nice, clean, free loaner was ready to go.The tech found and noted a broken plastic part under the engine, so they must have done an inspection. The brake pad rhicknes was written on the final invoice. A very good car wash on a very dirty vehicle just off a 2000 mile vacation. Looks nice when you pick up from service.

I never thought I could afford a VW, but when my Kia proved a disappointment, I thought, why not? Trever let me drive every model on the lot, and I fell in love with the TDI Beetle. It was the look, the feel, and the torque! (Wouldn't even have known that if not for Trever, he knows a LOT about his cars!) We talked numbers and I thought I might not be able to afford it. I was about to go for a Jetta, not my first pick but still a great car for me, and maybe more in my price range. Then Kimo, Bill and Rick teamed up with Trever to form the dream team and they all worked so hard to get me the car I really wanted for the payments I needed. I can't think of any dealership that would work so hard to get me in the car that I LOVE!

I have been very happy with my 5 cylinder VW Passat which I have owned for about three and a half years. Service is very good at the Harper shop and the car has performed as I had hoped. I'll provide two issues as feedback to Harper and VW. First I recommend that Passat's be purchased with a rear camera for parking. The very comfortable rear seating and spacious trunk arrangement does make finding the rear bumper more difficult than usual for the driver so the camera would be very useful (and expensive to add afterwards). Second the navigation system is not great (it comes up with strange solutions for some routes) and the update cost is out of line in my eyes (approx $100) considering that handhelds are updated free for life and one knows that VW must create an update each year for new production so the investment by VW is a commitment. A distribution version should be low cost (price of a CD or thumb drive). Over all I still give the car an A+.

I brought my 2006 VW Golf in after MIL light illuminated and stayed lit for several weeks.It was a big concern as it occurred while I was moving here from out of state.Reviewing literature in my vehicle file, I found the Catalytic Converter Warranty Extensionand knew the "readily recognizable rattling noise coming from under your vehicle in the areas of the converter, and/or the MIL on the instrument cluster" illuminating was mostlikely the culprit.Diagnostics were run and my hunch confirmed. The converter was replaced while I waited. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

First of all, a commentary on the TDI emissions situation: our experience with the TDI diesel engine in our JETTA has been great! Mileage has been ~42 mpg and performance has been awesome. Our recent trips to Colorado in the mountains proved that our JETTA could keep up with anyone in the mountain roads. In my opinion, the emissions deception was a mistake, but the overall environmental impact is minor compared to the huge truck traffic - all belching diesel fumes hundreds of time more than the small diesel cars out there. The EPA standards are typical over-reacting government standards. The recent Goodwill compensation was well done, and helped finance a service need.Our recent service experience at Harper VW was great. Good customer service, no problems with the repairs, and the wash and wax job was appreciated. Service pricing is somewhat higher than alternatives, but the end product is well worth it.

We just bought our 2015 VW Passat at Harper VW and couldn't be happier with the deal. I applied for financing online and received an overnight approval with a great interest rate and a $2000 manufacture incentive. Phillip Carr contacted me via email the next day, we discussed my needs, and I selected a model to look at. Over the next week he and Salesman Aaron Teasley maintained contact with me and worked out the particulars of the deal. After a nice test drive, we returned to the dealer, Shannon Harper introduced himself and thanked me for my business. Free refreshments were available for us and there is a nice play room to keep the little ones occupied. The place could not have been cleaner or more well kept, not a cluttered desk or mess in sight.A few minutes after I spoke with Shannon, my papers were ready to sign and I was nearly done. Finance Director Cliff Cunningham closed the deal and went over some dealer add-one with me. I declined the add-ons and no pressure was ever made to buy them, just a simple presentation lasting a few minutes, and no further sales attempt after my initial declination. All the numbers matched my pre-negotiated price and there were no hidden fees or markups, the financing I was told I qualified for was what I got and my payment was dead on with Phillip's quote from an earlier phone conversation; this couldn't have been a more hassle free transaction. The closing session lasted less than ten minutes and there was no grilling or hard sales pitches made, I signed a couple of lines and was ready to drive out in minutes!All in all, we are thrilled with our purchase and will buy at Harper again. The only thing that could have made this better was if they brought the car to me and I didn't have to drive the 75 miles or so to get there from Crossville. Then again, going to the dealer is an experience in itself... They have some neat classic VWs on display and we got to ring the gong when we bought the car, our son and nephew had a great time with that! And don't forget the t-shirts, we were given some nice Harper/Volkswagen shirts to proudly wear and let people know about our experience. I'd give them a 10 if I could, thanks Harper VW!

He made what can be a very nerve racking decision process just the opposite. He was more than patient with our leasing finance company when it came for working out the payoff details. He even kept his sense of humor when I spilled my bottle of water on his keyboard! When it came time to sign all the paperwork, Cliff Cunningham expained everything very clearly. We can't say enough positive things about our experience through the entire process. Stopped by Harper VW to see if they had any VWs that was both appealing and meet my needs. Fortunately I met James Ross there. First thought was, "here we go again with the usual sales pitch". After awhile I found that he wasn't going to be the "pressure and you gotta buy this car" stereo-type of salesman. Don't let James fool you though, he may be laid back and down to earth but he is VERY knowledgeable and TRULY interested in making your experience a memorable and enjoying experience. As we went thru the buying process, each person at Harpers were very friendly and comfortable to work with and treated me like family right off the bat.Would I recommend Harpers, YES by all means!Would I recommend James Ross, ABSOLUTELY!

I originally went to Harper to get my oil changed on my now previous vehicle. There were other things wrong with it that were found, so I decided to look and see what my option would be. I had the most realistic and helpful sales representative I've ever had! He helped me to find a vehicle that I liked, and helped me with get financing options. He was very knowledgeable and kind. He's truly an asset to the company! He was not the only one who was helpful though. I've been looking for a new small diesel new car for a out a year. I first visited Harper WV in fall 2014 and test drove a Passat with Mark Hammock - what a great experience! He was very knowledgable and completely professional in every way. I have been researching small diesels for the last 3 months, and have emailed Mark several times to get more info - he always replies the same day with the answers I need.This last weekend, my wife and I went to test drive 3 small diesels, with the intent of making a final decision. We went to Audi first and then to the BMW dealer - BMWs were expected to be well above our budget, but they had a 1-day special on a 2014 demo 328d that was simply too good to pass up - without seeing that opportunity, our next stop would have been to see Mark - we probably would have bought a TDI Passat or Jetta wagon from him if the other deal didn't exist. Harper VW will definitely be on our list the next time we're car shopping.

I moved to the Knoxville a little over a year ago. Not long after moving here, I noticed that the headlight assembly on my Touareg was very loose in the housing, so I called Harper VW and scheduled an appointment to have it looked at. I brought the car in, the tech. looked at it right there in front of me in the lane where you drop the cars off, determined the assembly had been incorrectly installed by the dealer in the area where I lived previously and fixed it, all free of charge. I had not bought this car from Harper no ever spent any money with them servicing it in the past. I was amazed at how well they treated me. My last dealer would have charged me $200 and probably broken something else in the process.Fast forward, I had my next scheduled service done with them and the experience was good. The price was reasonable, Andy was very polite and took great care of me, even gave me a loaner car for the day. Not long after that service was completed, I noticed a noise coming from my right front wheel and took the car back in. They determined the problem (it wasn't anything that was their fault from the previous service), fixed it, and sent me home, free of charge again! I love my car, and I am happy to say that I've found a dealer that I absolutely trust to take care of it and keep me in it for a long time. Thanks, Andy, and Harper VW for great service!

This team is an awesome one! I can't believe how long it's taken me to provide an accolade. I had the pleasure of meeting each of the team members and they were all pleasant; down to the "finance guy", cashier, parts and service representatives. More importantly, they seemed genuine. Yes, they are in sales but I didn't feel as if I was being sold to. The specific gentlemen I worked with (though I had interactions with them all at a point) was Steve Holmes. My experience with Mr. Holmes is to be described by stating that I felt as if I had a dedicated "tailor" who ensured my "suit" fit skin perfect! I took about a week to make my decision and finally chose the Volkswagen Passat TSI SE over the Mazda CX5 and Mazda 6 on August 2nd, 2014. I actually emailed Steve this morning to exclaim how happy I still am with my car and for his service! The dealership is clean (first and foremost) and the staff is impeccable. My test drive was relaxed; I didn't feel rushed nor pressured. I was able to work with them to get to an affordable price point and everyone was please to get the deal done. I could've purchased my car in NY but decided to wait until visiting Knoxville, TN and I sure am ecstatic I did. THank you Harper! You should be proud of the team you have.

The experience of buying one of Harper Volkswagen's exquisite used automobiles is one that has all the feeling of sitting in a leather bound chair in front of a fire drinking 30 year old whiskey; all while using a peasant as a foot stool. As I left the dealership, satisfied with my new purchase, the sheer gentlemanliness of the proceedings that Mr.Fish and myself conducted was so great that I had sprouted a handlebar moustache. I drove away from the dealership looking like a younger more chiseled Monopoly Man, which was convenient because I was wearing the suit already (for a different completely unrelated reason).

If you want an amazing sales and service staff who will stick with you long after the sale, Harper VW is the one! My wife and I stopped in while our son was getting his Touareg serviced. We looked around for a bit before talking to Phillip Carr, who sold us our Jetta a few years back, who then referred to Mark Hammock. Mark was extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole process and we ended up walking out with a 2014 Passat TDI and couldn't be happier! I stopped in at Harper Volkswagen doing some window shopping and was greeted by Kimo Meheula. I was considering a Jetta or Passat. Kimo was great...he let me look without standing over me but was quick to answer my questions. I test drove both vehicles but decided on the Passat for the extra room it gave backseat passengers. absolutely love the Passat.During the financing I met Rick Boring. I came into Harper VW a few weeks ago looking to buy a car. The car I really wanted was a little out of my price range. I shopped around a little bit and looked at some used cars for a couple weeks. I saw some new leasing deals pop up on the VW website and signed my lease for that same car I wanted two days later. The whole process was relatively quick and easy. I really enjoy my car purchasing experience at Harper. I got a 2014 CPO Passat from them. On the first day I visited the dealer shop, Mark Hammock was helping me to find a vehicle to fit my budget and my needs. He let me test drive some of the vehicles. I decided to purchase one of them after consulting with some of my friends. I ended up getting an auto loan with my bank and that was a way far less pleasant. It takes them days to process my loan application, but Mark and Cliff are extremely patient and help me out a lot in closing the deal. They keep very good communication with me and just keep update all the time via text messaging. They are very professional and I will definitely recommend them if you need a new vehicle.

The car buying experience that you will encounter at Harpers is unlike any other dealership I have ever been to. The atmosphere right when you walk into the shop is very inviting. This dealership is unlike most as they do not shark attack you right when you pull onto the lot. I dealt with Mark Hammock through my car buying experience, and it was a pleasure. After a few "bumps" in finding the right car for me, all the people who work at Harper Volkswagen went above and beyond what I expected to insure not only was the car what I wanted but that I was pleased with my purchase. It took a few months for me to decide what I wanted but as soon as my "dream car" crossed their path I received a call and the car was mine. Working with Kimo has been one of the best parts of this whole experience. He has stayed late to make sure I was properly taken care of and guaranteed the car would be safe until I came to purchase it since there were a few others "circling" around it! The price was more than I had originally intended to spend but the car I ended up with has more than I thought I was getting. Having had a horrible car buying experience in the past I was not very trusting that I would be taken care of in an honest way but I have complete trust in ALL those who work with Harper and would recommend this particular group of people to anyone--friend or foe--who is looking for a vehicle. To say I have been treated far above what the "average" customer at most places would experience is an understatement. Although I'm not looking to purchase another car in the near future, this is the ONLY place I want to deal with in the future!

We had heard that Harper VW was hard to deal with. That they wouldn't work with you and were high. There are no other vw dealerships in knoxville area-so they didn't have any competition. We did not find that to be the case. They gave us a fair price on our trade-in, my new VW was impeccable, they didn't haggle us to death. Just did nice clean business. We have bought several new cars in our married life and no one has ever given us a free gift - i got a T-shirt and husband got a hat. That is minor i know, but it was thoughtful and i love my shirt. We really liked our salesman, Mark Hammock. He was very knowledgeable and no pressure. I HATE the whole process of buying a car. I usually disappear when it comes to "haggle time". About 1 week after we test drove the car my husband called Mark and made an offer - we went back and forth about 15 minutes and then it was over - done deal. Well, our experience at Harper's VW was very different! We were pleasantly surprised when Mark Hammock approached us with a no-pressure approach. He took time to listen to what our family vehicle needs were and made some great recommendations based on what he heard from us. He didn't take us to the most expensive cars on the lot... he took us to the vehicles that were practical for us. Then, he educated us on each of the vehicles and, he really knows his stuff! He sent us home with literature and asked that we think about it over night; he wasn't just trying to close the deal! When we returned the next day we'd made our decision but, he insisted that we drive the vehicle again just to be sure. Harper also took care of a couple of minor issues with the car up front, that way I didn't have to be worried later.I had originally completed another survey in which I scored Mark from a 7-10 in some categories. We dropped my husband's CC this morning to be checked for a noise in the tires. Next thing I get a voicemail from GEICO saying that they were going to take care of the damage reported and gave a claim# and a phone # we need to call. Next thing, I call Harper and Mr. Maxey, whose name was on the claim, tells me a customer backed up and hit the car, but do not worry I already called the insurance company of the other client and you just need to call Geico and they will take care of it and maybe they will even give you a car while yours is repaired.Excuse me!!!!!! This is not the kind of service we have received in the past from Harper and surely not what we are expecting.We left this morning a CC Passat in mint condition, and not only you did not resolved the problem I brought it for, but now you are giving me back a wrecked car, a claim # and a phone number to go and solve a problem I didn't have this morning and certainly I didn't look for.Unfortunately this is the only VW dealer in Knoxville. We really expect Harper to provide a better customer service.Thank you Mr. Harper for your intervention. Mr. Blair has been very kind and helpful. Our car was taken to the collision center and we got a loaner car while ours is being repaired.Finally, we got the customer service that has always distinguished Harper from all other car dealers.

Overall, my Toyota Tacoma purchase has been extremely positive. CJ has taken very good care of me and my truck and went above and beyond regarding getting the trade numbers in line, truck clean-up, and then working diligently on getting the small dent in the roof repaired. He and the management were gracious enough to provide a loaner while the work was being performed. I can't say enough good things about CJ and Brent. Banging the gong was really cool for my girlfriend and I! Thanks so much to CJ, Brent, Christie, and the entire Harper VW staff. We love the T-shirts as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We LOVE the truck. I won't go into the details, but this one was meant to be. Those who know what I'm talking about will understand that statement. The only experience that wasn't truly positive was when we finalized the paperwork in the finance office. I chose to purchase GAP insurance from the dealership, but before I signed I stated I wanted ORNL because it was cheaper ($599 vs $479) than the dealership offered. I called back the next day and was told the only option I would have would be to cancel the GAP at the dealership and that "it would be prorated so I wouldn't really gain anything." $120 is not a ton of money in the big picture, but over the course of the loan, that amount grows larger. Since I used to work in a finance office, I would appreciate more cooperation. Is there any resolution for this? Maybe $120 worth of oil changes or cancel and refund the $599 and I'll purchase it from ORNL. I just would like to know if I had any options. Thanks for your help! Please look into this and get back to me. Again, thank you for your cooperation!

He was very nice and friendly and new his stuff about VW. The test drive was very pleasant while he showed me the different features of the car. They even let me take it for a second test drive so I could be absolutely certain I was getting the car I wanted. The way I had to go about paying for the vehicle was a tad untraditional but they worked with me and made it go smoothly. The overall experience is what sold the car. They did a great job.

I had gone to another dealership in another town and I needed them to work with me as I was buying this Tiguan by myself,The other dealership worked with me two weeks but left me after I had to have the sale of my car involved. I waited another week to see if they would call me but they didnt and so I went to Harper, and they couldnt have been more nicer and helpful, I had my new Tiguan in three days and Mark made sure I was ok in all the new dashboard understanding, I am not to keen on remembering everything. He set up my phone and sent me the web site for a tutotial just in case I wanted to rewiew. Cliff was helpful with me understanding all the fiance information and very easy to talk to and fast, I didnt want to be in the dealership all day and I was'nt, so if you want a place to get get a new VW, I would say Harper is where I would recommend and I have told everyone I know when they ask about my beautiful Tiguan.

My friend and I were returning to the northeast after a wonderful visit to Nashville. Then the inevitable happen, the car broke down and had to be towed. We decided to have it towed to the nearest Volkswagen dealership. The damages were assessed and we had to make a decision. We decided to begin searching for another vehicle. This is where we met Steve Holmes who, looking back was heaven sent. Without any pressure we were introduced to a few vehicles which we liked and was given the opportunity to test drive. A couple of months ago I went with my daughter to purchase her first car. She had no credit and mine, due to a recent divorce was not the best. The employees who worked with us, (CJ and Rick) were helpful and friendly and found a way for her to purchase her first car, a 2013 VW Passat and finance it in a way she could afford. We had been to several other dealerships and no one said they could give me credit. Rick made several calls to VW, explained our circumstances and got us the loan. I was so impressed that I promised them I would return when my lease was up on my car.I went back to Harper on Friday and CJ, Herb & Rick worked with me for a couple of hours showing me possible options and ,with no pressure gave me the information I needed to make a decision. Last February we purchased a Volkswagen Jetta/Station Wagon from CJ Robinette and have had it serviced throughout the year with Steve Nicole. There was one problem that required several trips to service and Steve was excellent to work with. He was honest in evaluation times for repairs and returned calls timely. Steve's service and the pleasant buying experience with CJ have us hooked. Anyway, after only 14 months we had 32,000 miles on the Jetta and needed tires. We returned to Harper to purchase tires. We had priced the tires everywhere and Harper prices was comparable. However, the fact that Harper provides loaner cars is a HUGE selling point for us. The rest of the story............while sitting in the waiting room for the new tires for the Jetta I said, "The Beetles sure are cute" and the next thing you know my husband has CJ over working the deal and we purchased the new Beetle instead of buying tires for the Beetle. Great story and great marketing strategy to have to wait for service while looking at the new cars. It works!

We were looking for a new car to lease to replace the one we have had for the past 3 years and decided to investigate a new Volkswagen even though we had leased or owned GM cars for many years. After checking out the current GM cars we visited Harper Volkwagen and met Steve Holmes. We had two important criteria we wanted to hopefully find in a new lease. One was a well-equipped comfortable car and the other was to maintain our current budgeted lease payment. Steve kindly showed us different models but based on our wishes and needs, he focused our attention on a Premium Passat. We drove it and it was just what we had been looking for and Steve informed us of the lease payment and it was just right. Steve bent over backwards to answer our questions and provide the highest customer service experience in Sales. When we picked up our new car, he went over every little detail of the car which was far more than we had ever learned from the GM dealers we had worked with previously. Right now we do like our new car very much and would recommend it to anyone but above that we would highly recommend finding Steve Holmes for a very kind, competent and motivated sales person. And he is not pushy like many sales people!

Dennis Brooks was very low-key, low-pressure, and we really appreciated that. He went out of his way to show us available in-stock Tiguans, and different color choices, option packages, and so on. We ended up ordering a Tiguan so we could get exactly what we wanted, and he kept us posted time to time on the status of the order, and made sure we knew when it would be delivered. Dennis spent a great deal of time introducing us to our new vehicle, and making sure we knew how to operate all features. Rick Boring was a reasonable finance guy and I felt we got a decent deal on the vehicle and add-on packages. Overall, one of our best new-vehicle purchase experiences--thanks!

We were committed to buying a Volkswagen because of being previous owners of a Passat. Because we were buying our car through USAA, we had looked at online at the 3 certified USAA dealers available to purchase through. The color combination we were looking for was only available in Chattanooga at Village Volkswagen at the time we looked and not available at the either of the other 2 dealers. Village VW has made us an offer online for the car that was in stock. We decided to go to Harper and test drive a Passat before making the decision to drive over 2 hours to Chattanooga to make a purchase. The morning we arrived at Harper, they had just gotten a delivery on a Passat with the exact color combination we wanted. We sat down with CJ to see if we could arrive at a price that was agreeable within our budget. Not only did they honor the USAA buying price, they were able to get us a better interest rate than USAA offered us. It was a great hassle free buying experience for us. Kudos to CJ Robinette and Rick Boring for making things easy.

Our family had been trying to find a good used car for almost 6 months. We were visiting several car sales spots with very few people working who would put forth effort to help us look inside a vehicle. This was the 4th car that my partner and I have gotten from Steve over the years (the other being a 2013 Beetle) and I'll keep going back every time.Steve is easy to work with, with no pressure and definitely helps us make the right decision for us. He's knowledgable on all the products, available during our "hunt" via email or text, and always checks up on us when we're in the dealership for service.Steve is a big reason why we have purchased 4 VWs, and my first used certified pre-owned experience wasn't any different than buying a new VW, except for the price!

We always go to Harper, for routine maintenance. Andy in the service Dept. always takes care of us. He goes beyond, to the point, when I forget to ask for a loaner car, he realizes it was an error on my part, and always has one available for me and my husband. He will call us, to give updates. He is just plain excellent.Now, this time we went to service the Touareg, Kimo came up to my husband, while he was loitering in the showroom. Well, my husband went on to explain the mileage his wife puts on the vehicle and that it is almost time to think about a trade. Kimo walked Sandy around, explaining the differences, from one vehicle to another, finally speaking of the Touareg, which my husband knows his wife loves. Then, before you know it, Sandy came out and said to me, I think you need a new car. Then went on to explain to his wife why. Needless to say it didn't take long to convince me, we are certifiable VW clients. Kimo was very helpful in the process. Then, we drove off with our brand new VW Touareg. I was looking to trade my 2011 Jetta for a newer auto. I like VW's and this would be the 5th VW my wife and I have purchased in the last few years. We purchased our first 3 VW's from a dealership other than Harper's but had always taken our VW's to Harper's for service. When my wife was ask by an employee of Harper's why we did not every purchase from Harper's my wife told them that we had always been able to get a better price elsewhere. We were assured by Shannon Harper that they would not be undersold by any other VW dealership and as us to give them a chance to proof it so when my wife was ready for her next purchase she gave Harper's the chance to prove they would give her the best price and they did just that. After my wife purchased her Beetle I decided to upgrade also so we went back to Harper and dealt with Kimo Meheula who had sold Deb her car. Kimo is very friendly and helpful with his knowledge of each VW. I was able to compare several models and finally decided on a 2013 Passat. Rick Boring made the finance experience very easy as he explained all the details very clearly. The next time I am looking to purchase a car I will visit Harper VW.

We initially found them because they had the very specific car we wanted in stock. While we had negotiated a price with another dealership using the True Car website, Harper matched it! We negotiated the price with Mark Hammock via the Internet team and made plans to drive from Nashville to Knoxville to purchase it. The dealership experience went as expected. Mark was very helpful throughout the process. Having the price in writing proved helpful when it came to dealing with the sales manager. We bought the car and upon inspection found some issues that needed to be resolved. The biggest of those was spotting on the tan convertible top, which wasn't their fault, it merely happened in transport. Long story short, they made it right and we love our new Beetle convertible! We have been back to the dealership a few times and have found them to be helpful each time. We would definitely go back.

Why did I purchase the VW Jetta Sportswagen? I bought it because of health reasons so I would be able to carry my walker in the trunk. Harpers VW treats their customers like "old friends" and do not make senior citizens feel that they are in the way. Herb, my salesman, is like a grandson to me because he treats me with respect. I have purchased 4 cars from him. I will also give Bill Blair kudos. I would highly recommend Harpers VW and especially Herb Lambert when one gets ready to purchase a new car.

Our family has purchased probably 20 cars over the years and the experience has always been daunting and stressful. After doing a year's worth of research to find the 'perfect' car I decided on the Volkswagen Passat and then looked for dealerships through TruCar. Shortly after completing the on-line process which recommended Harper Volkswagen I got a phone call from Kimo Meheula. At first I thought "Oh no, a pushy salesman" but at the end of his message (because of course I did not answer the call) he said simply "Aloha". Having recently moved to the area from California, even though I am a southerner by birth, the familiar gentle, laid-back 'Aloha' got me hooked. I returned his call and came in for a test drive. Upon entering the showroom I was struck by the playfulness of the art, and the friendliness of Mr. Meheula. We immediately felt like we were in the right place with the right guy. We took the test drive, and took that very car home. We've already recommended the dealership to another family member who will be in a position to buy a car in a month or so and Kimo is on the lookout for the right car.On a side note- as I was looking at VW hats in the gift shop Shannon Harper came over, introduced himself and gave me not just one but BOTH hats I was looking at. I know it's not much compared to the car purchase but again, Harper Volkswagen and Kimo got me into the car I wanted, and Shannon put the icing on the cake with the hats. I was in the "market" for a new car. I looked at many, many cars. My neighbor told me that Volkswagon was a good car! I never, ever thought about buying a Volkswagon!!! I decided, since I looked at everything else, I might as well check out the VWs! Someone gave me Scot Pfundston's name so I gave him a call. I told him that I was looking for a hatchback, and he told me that I needed to check out the Golf. He invited me to stop in sometime. When I made my first visit on a Thursday afternoon, he had me sit in the Golf. I was impressed! The Golf just felt different, it was a "solid" car. Everything about it was better than other cars I had checked out! Scott was GREAT! He was not a"pushy" salesman. He gave me the facts and answered all of my questions. He even showed me other cars because he knew I had a "tight" budget! He was patient with my phone calls, text messages and numerous visits!!! He has a wonderful sense of humor and made my car buying experience at Harper fun!!! Yes, I did buy the Golf, and Scott took time with me setting up my Bluetooth, radio stations and told me everything about the car. He even showed me the service area and introduced me to Jeff, one of the Service Consultants! I would like to thank Cliff for his patience and understanding when he had to rewrite my contract! I am long winded, so I put the summary first, then the whole story.Overall, I found all the staff to be very helpful and knowledgeable, and the salesman I bought the car from ensured that I found the right place to have the maintenance done (we talked back and forth for several hours until he was sure I was good,) and still checks in every now and then. The Harper family seems to be very close, everyone is willing to lend a hand whether its the guy across the hall or the dealership across the road.I was and am very well looked after, the staff bent over backwards to help me come to a good decision. My car is wonderful and I have already put over a fifteen hundred miles on it in the past four weeks. I would highly recommend the Harper family of dealerships and specifically Scott Pfundston at VW. He is one of the friendliest and most considerate salesman I have met and really approaches the client with their interests in mind.The whole nine yards;I have been looking for a used car for quite some time. After great deal of research I had my heart set on a specific brand and year, and after missing the chance to buy one I was reconsidering my options. I had been to many dealerships in the area test-driving cars to gauge whether my impression of 'reasonably priced dream car' still fit. So far, it had.I walked into the dealership and as usual met with the first available salesman. I had seen a car on their website I wanted to drive, and after a few questions the salesman seemed to accept that I was only there for a test drive and we headed right out to the car. It drove better than I had expected, and I was impressed with the car overall. We talked at length about a great many things, but only touched briefly on cars while driving, again he didn't try to push other brands or makes, only asked how I'd come to my decisions and how I felt about the cars I'd driven.When we got back we talked for the first time about how I liked the tested car, and about my price limit and range (fairly standard- I've come to expect this after the number of dealerships I've been to.) I told him and even though the price I gave was a quarter lower than the asking price of the car he honestly considered it.Of course the answer was that they couldn't afford to sell the car at that price, but he thought the car might be within my limits. He went to talk to his manager and offered a price that was within my limits, if barely.We went out to the car again, and then when I asked about records we went right across the street to the Infiniti dealership, where all the service had been done. We knocked on the back door and they didn't seem to mind booing up a computer and printing the service records all the way back to when the car was new (perks of a family run business I guess.)We got back and talked over the price a bit more, and in the end I decided to buy it. It was a beautiful car and though a bit more expensive I was worried it was too good. The deciding factor wasn't that the car was there and I could afford it, but that I loved the car and was unlikely to find a better deal on anything close to it anywhere (as I mentioned, I do my research.)Of course, having brought down the price they didn't fix a few things that could have used it. I ended up spending $500 in maintenance (brake pads mostly) but nothing major, and my mechanic confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the car that wasn't discussed when I purchased it- they were honest admitting their product wasn't perfect, which speaks volumes. Again I recommend Scott. Although all the salesman I met at VW were engaging, Scott was there from the moment I walked in to help me make the right choice.

So when I was ready to purchase another one I returned to Harper because I had such a good experience the first time. 1st of all ! When we got to the dealership we walked around looking at VW Bugs Scott came an ask if he could help us? with that I said we are just looking to my surprise Scott said if you need anything let me know. This vehicle is for my wife and she really don't like car shopping. When we needed help Scott showed us the bugs an then took us to the back lot where there was more. This whole time Scott new this was for my wife he talked to her about the car asking her what she wanted and always listen to her. She got a 2013 VW Beetle convertible. Scott and Harper's VW went above and beyond my expectations. I bought a 2013 SE3.6 Passat on 7/6/13. Scott searched for the exact car that I wanted and had it delivered to the dealership. In the meantime he detailed the loaner Passat that they let me borrow while I was waiting on my delivery. Upon delivery Scott went through every feature of the car and filled it up with gas. Scott has a very low pressure sense of business and I would highly recommend him to anybody that I know that is in the market for a Volkswagen. Thanks Scott!

I bought my 2012 Volkswagen Jetta TDI in August 2012. Scott Pfundston helped me with the purchase, and Mark Hammock joined in as well when I dropped by to ask questions, test drive, etc. Scott and Mark were both excellent representatives of VW....they knew the car and they knew how to answer all of my questions! My ratings of great service, friendliness, quality of work, and overall experience are due to the fact that these gentlemen helped me pick out the perfect car for my family in a professional and very friendly manner. We absolutely love our Jetta TDI and would buy another one tomorrow from Harper Volkswagen if something happened to our car today. Jeff and Steve take care of my car in the Service Department and are always extremely helpful and friendly....they even had my Loaner Car warmed up for me before my arrival at 7:30AM on a cold snowy morning! I highly recommend this dealer and these gentlemen to anyone looking to own a Volkswagen.

I visited Harper VW a year ago and tried to buy a manual transmission Passat, but the salesman I dealt with (Mark) was less than helpful and would not follow-up on finding a car that Harper did not have in stock. I waited a year and visited Harper again this spring, but I made a point to deal with a different salesman. I found a great salesman this time (Mr. Fareed Farvin) and everything went great. While Harper still did not have the manual shift Passat in stock I wanted , Fareed followed up and helped me order the car that I wanted and at a fair price. It was a pleasure to deal with Mr. Farvin in all regards. He is a genuinely nice person and does not have any of the attitude that many car salesmen do, and most importantly he does not play the games that most of these guys play. If you have stopped at Harper in the past and had a bad sales experience, my advice is to go back and ask to see Fareed Farvin and you will have a good experience. On a follow-up note, my experience with the Service Department at Harper VW so far has been the best I have experiencedat any car dealership, top notch in all regards. Jeff and the other guys in service are world class.

I worked with Scott Pfundston. Being a single woman (that doesn't know a lot about cars) I needed to work with someone that I could trust to be honest with me. Scott was honest and upfront about all the cars I looked at. He also took the time to educate me on certain aspects of each vehicle I was considering...........not to mention answering my stupid questions without making me feel dumb. We have had a few laughs. Being in the customer service business myself, I understand the importance of mediocre customer service versus great customer service and "great" service was definitely demonstrated. Due to my busy schedule it was hard to get into the dealership, so Scott texted me pictures of vehicles as soon as the dealership received something he thought I would like. That was very helpful and saved me a tremendous amount of time. Scott assessed my needs and wants, but was always conscious of my strict budget. Long story short....I love my car!

From our first encounter with Scott (Spring of 2012), we felt at ease, not pressured into buying something other than what we came for--a Jetta Sportwagen TDI. And when Harper didn't have the color we wanted (red with beige interior), he found it at another dealership, fresh from the factory and arranged a swap to bring that car to Harper. This was my first experience with a Volkswagen dealership. We worked with Scott Pfundston who represented Harper Volkswagen professionally throughout the process. Scott was knowledgeable, amiable. very likeable...the kind of person we like to do business with. The vehicle we considered was a 2013 Volkswagen Passat TDI SEL Premium. The 2013 mid-sized competition was tough...we were comparing the Passat vs Ford Fusion SE Hybrid, Honda Accord EX-L and Toyota Camry Hybrid XLE. We, ultimately, selected the Ford Fusion on the comparative merits of the vehicle...with high marks for driver lumbar support, outstanding AC, Sony 10 speaker system and Ford SYNC with voice commands.We would not have any problem recommending Scott and Harper Volkswagen to anyone considering a Passat.

I found my buying experience to be excellent. I worked with Farid Farvin and he did a superb job preparing for our visit after a number of emails and phone calls. He had every model I was considering ready for test drive upon our arrival. He assisted us in making our selection and we ended buying a car right off the showroom floor which was remarkably easy. He has consistently followed up with us especially with respect to one very annoying issue we had with the car right from the drive home. That issue is completely resolved! We have yet to return to the dealership for our initial new car service but have been reminded of the standing offer from the dealership to complete that visit at our convenience. I found the dealership to be highly recommendable.

During my purchase of my new GTI, I interacted with Bill Blair and Scott Pfundston. It was my pleasure working with both of them. Scott was always available to answer any questions I may have and was patient enough to sit and talk to me about F1 racing and other random topics. He was able to find additional information I needed in order to make my final decision. The best part of my experience working with Scott was the test drive he really showed me how I should be driving the GTI to enjoy and appreciate the power of German engineering. Originally I was car shopping for a good gas milage car over my SUV. I had run around town looking at various dealerships and was more disappointed in the blase attitudes I received at these other dealerships. I finally worked my way to Harper Fiat where I really enjoyed the look and styling of the Fiat Abarth. I met the owner Shannon and he offered me a test drive (He actually drove as it has been a while since I've driven a stick and preferred he drive it). Needless to say he was not shy about putting the car through its paces. Shannon also introduced me to his staff and explained his dealership philosophy. At that point I knew I would be buying a car from Harper, just didn't know which one.Two weeks later I found myself at Harper Volkswagen and met with Scott. Scott was very professional and stayed in touch with me. Made sure all my questions and requests were answered and fulfilled. And ultimately I bought a car from Harper. I would definately buy from Harper again.

She was treated with the up most respect and never felt like she was looked down upon because her husband was not with her. We recently purchased a used Subaru Forrester with approximately 101,600 miles from Mark Hammock at Harper Volkswagen. Admittedly with a little self naivety and probably against my better judgement(Not to mention substantial pressure from teenage daughters), we were shown a repair bill that included replacement of the water pump, head gaskets, and timing belt. We were ok with the repairs but later realized that those repairs were probably just enough to get the car back on the road. Two days later, the "check engine" light came on and I took the vehicle to the Subaru dealership. It turns out that they had some old history on the Forrester but nothing recent. Also, every system service imaginable and 2 open recalls were needing to be performed on the vehicle. Thanks to the service rep at the dealership, he was able to save us about $1200.00 due to a repair related to one of the recalls. However, we did invest another $2400.00 in getting the car in as good shape as we possibly could. Those repairs included virtually all fluids and filters being replaced and systems flushed, replacement of after market parts with appropriate Subaru parts, alignment, tire rotation, front and rear brake work, differential service, and a multi-point check on many other items. I now feel we have a vehicle that is truly road worthy and safe enough to be on the road especially with my teenage daughters behind the wheel. Lesson learned about purchasing used vehicles with over 100,000 miles? Absolutely! 20/20 hindsight? Absolutely! Overall experience? Ehhhh! I hold no animosity towards Mark. I do feel, however, that the dealership and the service garage that did the repairs while the car was on the lot probably knew a lot more about what needed to be done to the vehicle than was disclosed at the time of purchase. I did indicate that I would recommend this dealership, but probably for a new vehicle purchase only.

Have been Harper VW customers for eight years, mostly for service on the two VWs we bought in Jax, FL. We bought a third VW new in 2011 for a graduation present (Jetta). We bought that car through Mark Hammock and were very pleased with him; simply a terrific guy. We just bought a new 2013 (04/13) Beetle and made certain to deal with Mark Hammock again. We were thoroughly pleased once again with Mark. What a sensational fellow! Without reservation, we would highly recommend Mark Hammock to anyone. Both new car deals had to go through the GM, who was ammenable to a reasonable negotiation on each transaction. A very good businessman, and one who seemingly will try to make sensible deals happen. The staff at Harper VW (at least those with whom we've dealt) are really quite exceptional. The service advisors, I have actually begun to think of as real friends. They will bend over backwards to make sure everything is right. Their names: Andy, Jeff, Steve; also Mike and Todd, all of whom are professionals of the highest caliber, not to mention friendly, knowledgable, and with great personalities and keen senses of humor (I like a good audience). I simply cannot give enough praise to their service dept. The VW techs are all great and perform the work flawlessly (as far as I'm concerned, anyway). The work is done right and always completed in less time than I thought was possible. Have also dealt with Chris (used vehicle mgr.), Rick (paperwork/finance mgr.), Phillip (web guy). All aces in my book, very cool guys. We would certainly recommend Harper VW. One of the few business, of any kind, I actually enjoy spending money with.

I had the best experience I have had at a dealership, and I trade cars often probably every 6- 8 months so I've definently been to alot of them, and this visit was very quick and painless in a very timely manner. The thing I hate most about going into a dealership to do business is the time that it takes from walking in the door to driving away in a new/ used car. That was not the case at Harper it was surprising fast process, Mark didn't hold us up the first day we came in because he knew the banks were closed and we coulnd't do much at that point, so we just came back the next day everything was already handled and we just signed the papers. I recently purchased my 2nd VW, the first a Super Beetle in 1972, and now 41 years later a 2013 VW Passat. The experience at Harper Volkswagen was the best. I stopped by not long before closing on a Friday evening. Scott came out to speak with me. We walked around and he opened several cars for me to look at, and I indicated that I would do some research and come back the next morning. We drove several, and his knowledge of the cars was outstanding. I never thought I would be interested in a diesel, but Scott gave me some information which I was able to independently confirm. So many car salespeople were selling refrigerators last week, and I find that I know more about their products than they do. Not so with Scott - he's a car guy. We made a deal that day. It was fair, and I would say it was the least stressful car buying experience I have had. Scott was no pressure, but certainly believes in the products he sells. I hope to use him again some day. Loving my Golf TDI!

He took the time to set all of my phone contacts, all the buttons on my radio, and showed me twice on "how to do things'...since I am a senior citizen and asked him to do so the 2nd time. Nancy and I had a great experience with Farid beginning with internet and email contact and ending with the purchase of a new Beetle convertible. We worked mostly with Herb Lambert but Phillip Carr also provided back-up as needed. We really enjoyed the no pressure approach by both of these gentlemen. They were very responsive in all of our dealings and we felt very comfortable that they were honest and open. Herb did a great job getting back to us in a very timely way during the deal negotiations. He did everything he said he would and was great to work with. We picked up our new Tiguan with a full tank of gas which was also great. From the first test drive until picking up our new vehicle we felt like we were treated like valued customers. The paper work was handled really easily by Rick Boring and we were done with the transactions in probably about 15 minutes. Herb Lambert went beyong our expectations when we called a day after trading in our vehicle to mention that we had left 6 CD's in our audio system. The vehicle had already been sold and picked up but he called the wholesaler and had them returned. This was not expected, but very nice of him to do. In addition Herb has called and written during the week after delivery to make sure everything was ok and offer assistance if there were any questions or issues. Great follow-up on his part.I have owned Mercedes, Porsches, and Lexus and was wondering how the experience at Harper VW would compare. I can honestly say we were delighted with the experience. We would definitely recommend Harper to friends.

My wife and I were not sure if we should just go ahead and repair the Passat TDI SW we purchased originally from Harper VW in 2005 or trade it for a new Routan van. The $8000.00 rebate deal on the 2012 Routan was very attractive. Our sale person Scott Pfundston never pressured us but guided us in making the right choice in a very friendly manner. Everybody in the showroom seems happy to be working for Harper VW. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the showroom is very appealing with a super great coffee espresso machine and WiFi available for guest. The kids playroom with toys and the DVD player has been a great tool to keep our 2 boys quiet for a good couple of hours while we were reviewing the trade deal. We will go back to Harper VW for service and for trading again in a few years. The entire sales and financial team is very professional, knows the business and honesty is its prime quality. At the end Harper VW is existing to make a profit but he does it in a honest and friendly manner. Thank you.

I have a 2003 jetta 1.8 turbo with more than 270,000 miles. The Harper Volkswagen team has never let me down. Repairs are done in a timely manner, communication between me and the service rep are excellent when they are working on a problem for me. On several occasions they have taken care of issues that may or may have not been related to the initial servicing. Basically they go the extra mile. I had to have a clutch put in a couple months back and I just couldn't wrap my mind around the cost of some of the parts. So Andy and the service tech took me back and showed me the parts that were removed from my car and educated me on the value and technology that goes into making the VW a leading car manufacturer. I will definately be taking my car back for any issues. Harpers is trustworthy and reliable!

The salesman that we dealt with was nice but I didn't appreciate the fact that I could hear snide remarks about me and my deal. I don't appreciate hearing things like "what does she expect". The manager never left his office or his chair for that fact. Because of him and the comments I heard is the reason I will NEVER go to another VW dealership again. Also he wasn't willing to negotiate on the price of a USED vehicle. I have never been treated like this at a dealership before. We left there and went to another car lot and got great customer service along with a NEW, more expensive car at the price we wanted. UPDATE: I did talk with the owner and he apologized about what had happened. He assured me that this type of customer service is not tolerated and that he would be having a conversation to try and resolve this problem.

The employers are very friendly and really listen to my concerns. I was hearing road noise from my window and service drove a new car out to listen and compare. A few months later, VW did a recall to address the issue and gave me a gift card for the inconvenience. That's a dealership that cares about their customers. My wife really likes this car and it is very easy to drive, a lot of zip and good gas mileage.

I have been visiting Harper Volkswagen for years. Most of those years, I was window shopping. I met Bill Blair as a sales representative. Every time I came in to the dealership, bill treated me like a VIP customer even though he had to have known I was probably just looking. Last year circumstances changed and I had the opportunity to buy a new GTI and a one year old Jett. Bill provided great service and a great price, just like I knew he would! Since purchasing these vehicles, I had the opportunity to use the service department as well. Steve, Jeff and Matt have continued the outstanding service I've come to expect from HarperbVW! They have been very accommodating of my unusual scheduling needs, frequent international travel with long absences from Knoxville, with aplomb, always ensuring alternate transportation. I've even used their vehicles to go to Super Bowl Weekend in Indianapolis! I think I know Harper VW from top to bottom and highly recommend them without reservation! I'm thinking of buying another VW from them soon.

We have owned 3 Jetta TDI's all purchased at Harper VW in Knoxville. The cars have been great (except for the '01 - transmission kaput at 118,00) and the service at Harper has been excellent. The warranty mileage keeps heading south with each year, '01, '04 and 2010 as the Big 3 are going the other way. We will see how it goes... Keith Rivard

I bought my 2011 TDI Jetta last June. There was a no pressure environment and despite my resolve to purchase that VW, Steve recommended that I drive it anyway to make sure it was the car for me. It was nice to know that they weren't in it for the quick buck but wanted to provide the right advice and car in order to build a long term relationship. I now have 45k miles on the car (there were 6 miles on the car when I bought it.) Every trip in for service results in the same patient discussions about how the car is driving, discussion of any possible issues and simply a statement: "We'll take care of it."

The entire experience with Harper VW was seamless. I did my research online, came into the dealership for a test drive and chose a CC. I wanted a six-speed, which they found at another dealership and had it shipped to Knoxville. When it was time to take delivery, all of the paperwork was ready to go and I was out of the door in my new car in about an hour. All in all, the best car buying experience I've had in 20 years.

I went into the Harper dealership looking for a new or used Volkswagen Jetta. Mark was extremely helpful from the moment I arrived and all the way through the process of finding a car. He was very informative and personable and made the car buying process as stress free as possible.After I had filled out an application for a loan to purchase my car the process took slightly longer than I had anticipated but the employees did a good job of making the wait seem like a non issue. I did not consider it much of a hassle but for the wait they told me to come back whenever I had low fuel and they would fill up my tank for free. Not a big deal but I considered it a nice gesture.

My family currently owns 4 VW's which were all purchased at Harper's. I have always had great treatment by all of the employees. Certain employees stand out in my mind as I have dealt personally with each one. Andy Maxey in the service department is wonderful, he always takes the time to explain what repairs/services are needed and more importantly he reassures me when no extensive service is necessary. I feel in this way they help me to contain my cost and certainly encourage my loyalty to their dealership. Another employee who has always been extremely kind and helpful is Mike Clem. He explains things in a way that is easily understood. When I recently bought my 2012 Jetta I dealt with Bill Blair and once again I had a great experience. He was very kind and made certain that I knew the basics of my car when I purchased it. Another kind employee that perhaps not many know is Jerry in the mechanics/service department. His knowledge and easy explanations about my engine have gone a long way to help me fully appreciate Harper's choice of employees. One experience I must share occurred when I purchased my initial car at Harper's many years ago. I had purchased a used Passat (which was an awesome car). The salesman, who I believe is currently a salesman at Harper's Audi, was very polite and helpful in explaining the car to me. I was trading in an Expedition. The other dealerships I visited were very rude about my trade-in (Ford dealerships) to the point I decided I would never buy another Ford, (although I don't dislike Fords). Not too long after the purchase of my Passat my daughter was having trouble with her 10+ year old Jetta which was not purchased at Harper's however did receive service there. I explained to my salesman that I would probably need to find another used car for my daughter. He quickly agreed to assist me in my search. The problem with her car was with the heater core which was going to cost more to have replaced than I had paid for the car. I explained that I wanted to buy a nicer car for her but that finances were a little tight at the time. He later called to tell me that her car had had a recall on the heater core several years before and that it might be covered for a replacement. He let me know when he was certain about the replacement. The car was fixed for free. That salesman did not realize it at the time, but he cultivated a long time customer at that time. I have since purchased 7 VW's from Harper's and will continue to do so in the future.All in all I have had nothing but positive experiences at Harper's thanks to Andy, Mike, Bill, Jerry and many others I hope to have many more VW's down the road. I had worked with Tom before and called him with the quotes I had received with True Car and he said Harper would honor it. With that in place it was a very easy process and it went by quickly. Steve Holmes responded to our telephone contact as we wanted to purchase a diesel car. My wife checked on line and found Harper was our nearest dealer for VW's. When we came in and met Steve he was very cordial and showed us various models in which we could choose. When we decided on the 2012 Jetta he gave us all the details and checked on available of various colors. Since we were from out of town we wanted to get a vehicle on our next visit a week later. We had some questions after we returned home and he responded with answers to our phone calls. He arranged the financing and had everything ready when we returned a week later. He called me the day the first batch of Beetles arrived on the truck so I could come see them. I ordered mine that day. On a trip from South Carolina to Illinois I experienced car trouble and had to be towed to the nearest VW dealer. I was there less than an hour when I was told it would take a days to repair my car. The dealer put me in a loaner and only asked that I return it with the same amount of gas.The service was wonderful and my service technician, Steve Nicole, was wonderful as well. He treated my with consideration and respect. Since I am a woman and was traveling alone this was important and took a lot of the fear I was feeling away. We have owned a Jetta since 2001 and have been to many dealers. None of them have been as friendly or accommodating as Harper. I would highly recommend Harper and truly wish we lived closer so we could use them for further service.

I moved to TN in 1999 and had my 1996 Passat (which I loved) serviced at Harpers ever since. I have always had excellent service there and especially love the staff who are a pleasure to deal with. In 2010 I purchased a Certified 2008 Jetta from Tom Rannell and passed my Passat,now going on 14 years old and 250,000+ miles on to my daughter. I recently had the Jetta totalled in an accident and was heart broken about it. When I went back to Harpers, Tom helped me find and almost identical low mileage certified Jetta (2010) and got me a very good deal on it. I could not be more pleased. I am now in the process of buying my third Volkswagen from Tom for my other daughter who fell in love with it while driving mine when her vehicle was being serviced (also by Harpers). I plan on being part of the Harpers family for years to come and cannot say enough good things about them. I would recommend Harpers to anyone.

Andy Maxey in Customer Service should be cloned. I cannot imagine more wonderful service in terms of knowledge, support, honesty, and friendliness. I have nine years of being a satisfied Passat customer.

I bought my VW Eos from a different VW dealership outside the state and have had numerous issues with it. I've taken it to Harper every time there was an issue and they have always been nothing but nice and accomadating. They always make me laugh while I'm there and make sure that any concerns I may have are addressed. They've even helped me make sure that the out of state VW dealership pays for the things that they messed up. In my opinion, that's going above and beyond as they don't have to help me there. They could easily say, "Just call Gosset and see what they will do." Jeff in the service department is great. They always make sure I have a loaner and always make sure I know what needs to be fixed. Harper is great! I would recommend to anyone who would ask.

I have always heard how dealerships can be hard to deal with in how they treat their customers when it comes to cost and service, but my experiences with Harper VW have not proven that to be true. I know that there are other cheaper and perhaps faster options in dealing with service elsewhere, but I feel like the service has been top notch, and they truly have gone the extra mile in keeping this customer satisfied. I can't speak for others, but my experience with Andy and Steve at Harper have been friendly and professional; they have both been willing to take the time to answer any questions I have had concerning my car and/or service, and both have been willing to offer reasonablesuggestions that will make my car run smoother and drive a lot longer. I am grateful for the care my car has been given overall and I hope to stay with Harper for as long as I own my car.

I had not purchased a vehicle in over 10 years and was not looking forward to the car buying experience because it's usually a horrible one. My Toyota 4-Runner is 14 years old and it was time for something newer with less miles. I have owned Toyota products for the past 15 years and have been very pleased, but wanted to give the Volkswagen brand a try. Bill Blair was my sales person and he greeted me in the dealer lot with a smile and was very helpful. I felt no sales pressure whatsoever but at the same time time I felt like he listened to what my needs were and answered all my questions. I drove a Passatt Wagen and several Jetta Sedans. I ended up purchasing a 2008 Jetta 2.5 and I love it so far (I've only had it for 72 hours). It's such a fun car to drive and I love the interior lights (red & purple). Bill was right there with me through the whole process, was patient while I asked questions and even set up my satellite radio for me! When it came time to purchase, Joe in financing handled all the paperwork. He gave his full attention to me and explained everything very clearly. Again, I felt no pressure from Joe to purchase un-necessary service plans or "extras" that I felt like I did not need. He explained what each document was before I signed it and gave me time to look over everything carefully. I did purchase the platinum extended service plan because if fit my needs and I like having the extra peace of mind that it gives. Joe was polite & the financing was done in a professional and quick manner. Bill & Joe were both great! I hope the service after the sale is just as good.

Steve has been helping us take care of our Jetta for the past few years and I am very pleased with the level of service he always gives. He is prompt to answer our questions and goes out of his way when he can to keep us satisfied. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Steve to all of my friends with VW's!

Every time I have a problem or take my car in, Andy or Jeffalways make me feel welcome and there is a personal touchwith them. They are a huge reason why I enjoy comingand trust Volkswagon. There is just one complaint, the other Service Tech, Steve, has no wherenear the Customer Service as Andy & Jeff. He has called my two young boys out infront of me. You just do not do that! No personal touch or near the personality as Andy & Jeff. They truly seem tocare.

I came in looking at a specific model (EOS) and Bill walked me through the 2012 model faetures/benefits and knowing my hesitstion to purchase certified pre-owned vs new, showed me a pre-owned and walked me through the features/benefits and really explained the difference in warranty information, etc. He also offered a fair price either way I went. I would up purchasing a low mieage pre-owned and couldn't be happier. Thanks Bill!

Unfortunately,my car was in the possession of Harper Volkswagon during the most recently hail storm. It was there for a recall repair and oil consumption test. When I went to pick it up, ALL 3 men in the Service Department assured me that my car had been kepted inside and had not received any damage from the storm. Because I had an appointment, I did not take the time to inspect my car. When I arrived at my appointment and exited my car -- I could not believe what I saw. Hail damage!!!! All over my car.I immediately called back to the dealership. I know that their receptionist received the brunt of the complaints yesterday, but she was rude. When I explained that I did not want to leave a message, that I wanted to speak to a Manager, her response was a basic, "this is not my fault or problem." Then to make matters worst, the person that I spoke to -- Mike -- was the most insulting, rude person that I have had the unfortunate opportunity to speak with.In a nut shell, Mike was very clear that Harper VW was not responsible for my vehicle, even though they had possession of my car. He told me that I couldn't hold them responsible anymore than I could hold a movie theater responsible if I went in to watch a move and my car received damage from hail. I have NO idea what he was talking about. Mike explained that the damage was an "act of God" and Harper's wouldn't take care of the damage.There is something quite ironic with this -- when I dropped my car off for the repair, I was required to sign a document stating that if the loaner car that I received came back with any damage, MY INSURANCE would be responsible for the repairs. Fortunately, the loaner car was returned WITHOUT any type of damage (the loaner received better care by me, than my own car received by Harper's).I will NEVER buy another car from Harper's, nor will I ever return my car there for service -- these people can't be trusted -- they are dishonest, dishonest and dishonest -- nor are they responsible business people. I wonder how they would have felt if this had happened to their car.

After dealing with a car accident that left my vehicle totaled, I searched around different places to find a good car for a reasonable price. The people at Harper Volkswagon were able to help me so much. After I gave them my price range, they had the perfect car for me, a 2003 Nissan Altima. I love the car! The customer service was amazing! I would highly recommend this dealership to my friends and family, wether it is for a new car or a used one.

Excellent Service and Super friendly staff. They were only going to give me $800 trade for my old vehicle and Bill suggested I sell it on Craigslist, which I did (in one day)and got $1900! He said that if I sold it before my JETTA came in, they would give me a loaner. Which they did, even dropping it off at my work. Catered to all my neede & made my first new car experience wonderful. This is my first VW and will definitely not be my last.So glad I will be bringing my new car to them for future service/maintenaince. Will recommend to all my friends and family. TOTALLY LOVE, LOVE my new JETTA!! Thanks Harper VW.

We have taken our cars in for service for years and have never been treated the way the other raters described. We are always treated like family. Nothing has ever been damaged and our problems are taken care of quickly. As for the CEL, its a VW... you will always have CELs. And if its too expensive to get worked on, get a Ford... geez!

This is the first car I purchased on my own and I'm not sure if it's because I'm a young female who doesn't know very much about cars or if this is just the way they treat their customer's in general...but I have the very distinct feeling that I'm getting ripped off everytime I take my car in. The first instance was when my check engine light came on and my car was running sluggishly (it's a 2007 rabbit). The man in the service department asked me if I ever topped off my gas tank when filling up. I told him "Yes" because he explained that it was very important for him to know the truth...and I figured that it couldn't possibly be the problem because it's something I have done with every car I've driven and I usually only round up a few cents. The man came back and explained that because I overfilled my gas tank (according to him this was the only explaination) it damaged my charcoal filter and that it would have to be replaced (for $400+!!!) I asked if would be covered by my warrenty he curtly told me "No" because my manual clearly states not to overfill the tank (which by the way it doesn't, I've now read the whole thing) and that if I had taken the time to read my manual like I should have this would not have happened! Cut to a couple of weeks later, after the very expensive repairs, and my check engine light comes back on. This time there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car but amazingly I'm still charged for service, even though the light only came on because of a malfunction that they can't seem to fix. If that wasn't bad enough, I had the same check engine light problem TWO more times after that. Those services I did not pay for because I threw such a fit that I was in tears and I'm pretty sure they just wanted me to leave. Last but definitely not least, my car is in for its 20,000 mile checkup, the gas tank will not fill up all the way, and my check engine light is on AGAIN! The first thing the man in the service department asked me was if I was topping off my gas tank again(not only was the question in of itself insulting, but the way he asked was so condescending, I would have thought I was in the first grade all over again) I am now in the seventh hour of waiting for my car and I have an awful feeling that I'm about to be blamed for whatever issues my car is experiancing this time. I am very upset about the way I'm being treated and I know that I will never buy a volkswagen again because I am so offended with the way I've been treated...Buyer beware Harper Volkswager!

This is the worst experience I have ever had in dealing with a car dealership. The staff were all terribly rude. I paid for an extended warranty on my car, however, this dealership refused to honor my warranty stating that they do not offer this warranty and since they don't offer it, they do not honor it. I will never take my car to them. I will drive the 2.5 hours up to Lexington,KY to Don Jacobs to service my car. Next year when my wife buys a new car, my wife and I will go up to Don Jacobs to spend our money. Harper has lost my business and in my opinion made a serious mistake.

Our car has been in for lock problems 8 times. The first 7 times they either diagnosed it as an internal failure or "could not reproduce". After keeping our car for three weeks and reproducing the problem they have determined on the eighth attempt that the locks are not designed to work all the time because we have CRANK WINDOWS!!! They worked perfectly every time for 14 months but I was told it was because of something I was doing differently. They now only work part of the time because they were designed that way!? I said if they would get me the technical literature stating that the locks were intended to work like they said, I would accept it. They haven't. They also dented the running board with their floor lift and said they didn't do it. When I asked them to AT LEAST LOOK AT IT, THEY REFUSED AND BANNED ME FROM THE DEALERSHIP! They said they didn't want our business and would no longer provide us with a loaner for warranty work. (They promise a loaner if a car has been purchased there and we have bought two new cars there.) Two body shops have confirmed that the dent could only have been made by a floor lift and no one else has had it on a lift. I have already found out about one other person that was also "banned" from the dealership because of warranty work problems. Don't do business with Harper's VW, Porsche, Audi, Acura, Jaguar, etc. They sell expensive cars and treat their customers like dirt after the sale. (They also tried to sneak in a $129.00 charge on our last car for "services and processing.)
