I felt like I got a decent deal and I liked Lee Cain as the salesman. He was at all times professional and answered all of my questions. He pointed out all of the features of the car and demonstrated how things worked on the car. After he had delivered the car to me he answered other questions I had thought of regarding features of the car. Lee told me to let him know in the future if I had any other questions. I felt that this dealership worked with me with my budget and I appreciate the help. The only issue that I did not like was that I thought that I was going to get more money for my Odyssey trade in. I had bought the van 1 year ago for 10,000 and they gave me only 4,500 credit on it for a trade in and it is under 100,000 miles, but they did work with us within our budget, If we would have received more credit for the van we would have bought a more expensive product.

My 2010 Elantra was serviced regularly at the Hyundai dealership and I had paid it off 7 months ago, I was happy and planned to be with this car for many more years. Another car ran into me and the plan changed but I found that the Elantra had made great advances over the 7 years and it was still the best value, and even better than before. My service department in Harrisonburg is efficient and reliable so I'm also glad to be able to continue with that kind of service for my new car.

We purchased a vehicle from Harrisonburg Hyundai and after the purchase were absolutely stymied by Harrisonburg Hyundai's inability to deliver the lifetime maintenance materials. Email after email, call after call - people who wanted to be our best friend when we were shopping for a car made glowing promises; but once the car was out of the lot there was no follow through. We contacted the sales associate and finance manager repeatedly and after 5 months still don't have the promised lifetime maintenance paperwork. Additionally, after 700 miles, we learned that the car we bought had 4 tires that were uniformly under inflated. Coincidence? Don't think so - simply an effort to create a smoother test drive. We were so frustrated with the salesperson and finance manager that we placed several calls to the General Manager. The General Manager never took our call and never returned messages. Lastly, at 3200 miles, our panoramic sunroof exploded on I-75, 800 miles from home. We spent 3 weeks and countless hours trying to get a warranty repair - no loaner car, lots of corporate resistance, and no respect for the warranty that was highly touted in the sales pitch. Bottom line: from the local dealer to Hyundai Motor America, integrity and follow up were missing. We have been disappointed to say the least.

Please see comments stated in previous section. The salesperson, Patricia also worked with me on my previous vehicle then continued to follow-up with me over the years sending me Hyundai news and birthday greetings. Although I wasn't actively looking when Patricia called, I told her what I would like to have in my next car. I was surprised when Patricia not only found the exact car I wanted but thought I may not be able to afford, but she also met my finacial goals. The car and financing exceeded my expectations and that was largely due to Patricia's efforts and supplemented by Josh Shifflett and sales management. I am thoroughly enjoying this car in every way and couldn't be happier the way everything went. It took me back to the way car buying used to be and definitely a breath of fresh air for customer service in general. Just like years back, it was an enjoyable car buying experience especially when a person gets exactly what they want at a great price. Thanks again to Patricia.

I had looked at their inventory online and then went to the dealership to look at and test drive some cars (mostly used, but was open to new cars as well if they were within my budget). We began negotiating the car I was most interested in. When I mentioned that I thought I saw the car online for a cheaper price, the salesman (Lee Cain), waved it off and said that one had sold. We negotiated further and the sales manager (Antonio Rodriguez) swore the price they were giving me was the best they could do. I was hesitant and, since it was close to closing on a Friday, I told them I would let them know the next day. Antonio wanted the sale and said they couldn't guarantee the car won't sell before I decide, but that if I have an "epiphany" during the night and decide I want the car for sure, to let them know and they would hold the car. I took the quote sheet home (2 minutes away) and looked up the car I had seen online. IT WAS THE SAME CAR (per VIN) for a few hundred dollars less. I emailed them both immediately and told them I was disappointed in their dishonesty, but if they honor their advertised price they have a deal (I was paying in cash - no lending wait etc.). Lee returned my email and said he didn't realize we were talking about the same car (Really? He couldn't have taken a moment to double check on his computer at his desk while I was there?) and that they would honor the internet price. However, he later emailed me to say they sold the car.Friday - 7:45pm I send an email asking them to honor their advertised price.Saturday - 10:15am Mr. Cain replies saying yes they will honor it, but asks that I confirm again that I want the car.Saturday - 11:30am I confirm I want to move forward.Satuday - 1:10pm Lee emails to say they sold the car.Sure, nothing is guaranteed until you sign a contract. I get that. But if they were honest and honored their advertised prices to begin with, they would have had a sale. Also, don't tell me you will hold the car if you won't. I'm disappointed that they presented themselves as the standard negative stereotypes often associated with car salesmen.The following weekend I went to Wright Way Hyundai in Staunton and purchased a car. I have been driving Hyundais for decades and had just moved to Harrisonburg 18 months ago. It's unfortunate that I couldn't establish a relationship with the most local dealership, but I'm grateful that I'm now connected with a dealership I can trust a little more than others.

My experience differed from past car purchases. I arrived at the dealership having chosen two vehicles I wanted to look at, pre-approved financing, and approximate value of my trade in. Having that information allowed me to have meaningful conversations with the staff, and conclude the transaction in a shorter period of time. The staff was really helpful, allowed me test drive the vehicle I wanted, and showed me around the facility. Some of the added value this dealership offered were free oil changes for five years, and lifetime state inspections. Overall a very positive experience. I bought my vehicle here brand new, and it started having issues at 3,000 miles. The sales experience was slippery at best (trying to get a straight price from anyone was like pulling teeth) and I did not see the final total (to the penny) until they handed me a pen to sign for the car. The total was, shockingly, not what I'd been led to believe. The second I walked out the door, the weak impression of caring stopped altogether. I have taken it back numerous times for numerous issues, some new, some unfixed repeats, and been called a jerk, had it implied that I was a liar, had it implied that I was making up problems, and told that there was nothing wrong with a car they admitted to not doing anything to fix. I will fully admit that I have been visibly frustrated and less than chipper when going back time after time. I expect that most people would get irritated after spending $34,000 on a vehicle and it barely making it 3,000 miles without major malfunctions. I guess the joke is on me for spending $34,000 on a Hyundai. When the car does suffer an astronomically expensive failure, I will gladly let Harrisonburg attempt to fix it (it is their baby as far as I'm concerned, especially with the "lifetime" warranty (which I'm sure they'll try to get out of)). Otherwise, for my own sanity, I will take it elsewhere even though it's another hour of driving. While it is not their fault for selling a truly horrible product, it is their fault for failing 100% to stand behind it. To reiterate, this is a brand-new, fully loaded Hyundai with a corporate warranty and all.

Looking on-line for a used car we found a car of interest at Harrisonburg Ford. We live in Richmond Va 2 hours away, but it was worth the drive. David Cain was our salesperson and had the patience and expertise to determine exactly what car would best meet our needs. With his analysis he determined that for our needs, he could put us in a new Hyundai with a lifetime warranty on the drive train at less cost than the price of the used car we were looking at.. This caught us off guard and we needed another few days to research this new idea. He was low pressure and knew that after we did our research we would be calling him back. Sure enough, what he said was confirmed on the internet and we drove back to Harrisonburg Va to purchase a car that not only met our needs, but at a better price and better warranty than we could find in Richmond. Thanks again David Cain and we'll make sure to contact you for our next car. There were others at Hyundai that were also excellent that helped in the process such as Pat, Josh, Jay, and Jerry. We had lots of technical questions and between these people all our questions were answered.

I first saw the car I wanted online, called the dealership and spoke with Antonio at Harrisonburg Honda. He was very kind and knowledgeable and even more so in person later that day. He was also extremely patient, answering the sometimes odd questions I had. We worked with Harrisonburg Hyundai to purchase the car and they were wonderful as well. She didn't pressure us at all, and made helpful suggestions. When we purchased the car and had paperwork to fill out, she timed the steps to save us time. She had people prepping the car while we worked on forms, and yet she was available to answer questions as they came up. I was impressed with her organization.Josh Shifflet made the financing portion easy. First, shame on me for not being a thorough consumer. Had I been, two things would be true. 1.) I would not have bought the car. 2.) We would not know that the salesmen I worked with have no moral compass and zero integrity.The story. I bought my wife an 09 wrangler in January. What appeared to be a fair price as the vehicle was presented and the "personal" back story Jay and Josh had about the vehicle. Josh Shifflett was the sales person even though he normally does finance and Jay was the Sales Manager. The vehicle was worth what we paid, IF it had a clear title report. It did not, it was not disclosed, and no, I didn't ask. That is why their Integrity is garbage. NADA and KBB suggest that with a mechanical disablement from a rear impact, we should have paid about $3,000 less for retail. Hard to swallow.I am a better consumer because of this. Where is their moral principle and integrity as PEOPLE, job aside? Would they sell a vehicle that was unsafe? Most dealerships, nearly all reputable ones, wont even put a vehicle on the lot for sale with a major collision on the history report. Would they tell you they fixed or replaced something on a vehicle even though they didn't or there was nothing wrong with it in the first place? Wow, there are so many things that come into question. Infuriating!The sad thing is this. Myself and my wife felt personal connections with both Jay and Josh. Josh had shared some life experiences that my wife had. Jay is former Army, as am I. There is an acronym we followed in the Army for the 7 basic values. It still governs me to this day just because of how powerful it is when you think about it. It called LEADERSHIP. I know, neither of us are still in the service, but you would hope that this meant something lasting.L - Loyalty: Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit and other SoldiersD - Duty: Fulfill your obligationsR - Respect: Treat people as they should be treatedS - Selfless Service: Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and your subordinates before your ownH - Honor: Live up to all the Army valuesI - INTEGRITY: Do whats right, legally and MORALLYP - Personal Courage: Face fear, danger, or adversity [physical or moral].In summary, we were just taken advantage of. This was my first genuine car buying experience, for my second car. Tim was very helpful in selecting cars close to what I wanted, and providing information (such as carfaxes and brand experience.) I did not feel pressured to make a decision, and felt like a customer as opposed to a mark. All the cars on the lot were very presentable, and the ones I drove ran well. After making a marathon circuit of most of the car dealerships in Harrisonburg - I settled on a 2010 Kia Forte. It's a very solid vehicle, and they sold it to me for a fair price for my budget.

this suv had issues before i bought it and i was promised to have them fixed if i bought the car.....i bought the car in dec. and i asked several times for the car facts and did not recieve it until feb. if i had known it was a rental for a yr i wouldnt have bought it. theres isues with the winshield and a sell inside the car and also they said they put 4 new tires on it but i boooought it in dec andthe tirs strted making noise and i too it down to them and found out the tires have uneven tread on them and i nwas told they would rotate them and they still make noise and it also vibrates while driving down the road, was told if i wanted i could buy new tires for it.......shouldnt have to buy tires oon a suv that was suppose to already have new tires on it . thew windsheild has bubbles in it all over it nd was told that it was from rocks whichwas bullcrap and that i could turn it into my insurance company and pay my deductible and have it replaced, juist thought that was crazy, i could go on about the run around i have gotten over the issues but i would perferr to talk to someone that knows how to work with customers and not tell me that im just not happy with anything. i can assure them that i will not ever ever walk in that dealership again to buy anything . this whole situation with everything has made me furious !!!!!!!!! the issues with the smell in it is also still there as well. Pat and Jake went above and beyond to help me with a smooth vehicle purchase, (not my favorite thing to do, sorry guys, don't take it personal). I had a vehicle to sell in order to have a larger down payment, (total patience and no pressure on Pat's part). That process took about 2-3 weeks. At first Pat and I had looked at and priced new vehicles. I changed my mind (it didn't change Pat's course in helping me find the car that was best for me), I went with a certified pre-owned vehicle. I was driving my car with financing, tags, insurance (everything taken care of by them) the next day. There was a defect in the windshield of my new car (again, Pat and the folks at the dealership went above and beyond to correct the problem). I inquired by internet to Harrisonburg Hyundai about a new Hyundai and in my message I specifically requested to respond by email and NOT by telephone. Shortly thereafter I received a telephone call from Patricia Whitley - whose personality on the telephone I found to be obnoxious. I pointed out to her that I had request contact by email. She never apologized and continued to press me on the phone. This is the second negative experience I have had with the dealership regarding the purchase of a car. Harrisonburg Hyundai will never receive any of my business and I strongly suggest that consumers avoid dealerships, like Harrisonburg Hyundai, who disregard the requests of potential customers.

Pat was wonderful. She explained things in the car I chose very carefully to me as I am not that bright when it comes to new technology in cars. She made sure she went over single detail from under the hood to inside the trunk. The staff worked with me to find the best possible arrangements for my car financing. The 1500 dollar rebate was also a big plus and including the money we put down on the car...really makes the monthly payments affordable. Car shopping is one of the least desirable ways to spend an afternoon. My mother was obligated to replace her current automobile and due to information from family and friends (who are Hyundai owners) we went to Harrisonburg Hyundai. We were greeted with smiles and a casual approach which immediately put us at ease. We never felt pressure and feel as though we were given adequate information and allowed to reach our own decision. Jay Williams began the process and was friendly and considerate and gave us the facts as we asked for them. Josh Shifflett took over the processing of our purchase and arranged for us to test drive the car. We kept the car for several hours and drove to Staunton so my brother (the other Hyundai owner) could check it out. We are pleased with the purchase price and with the extended warranties (thanks to Jake Swartz). Josh patiently sat in the car with my mother and taught her how to operate all her new bells and whistles. I believe we have a reliable car backed up by a reliable dealership. Couldn't be more satisfied with the customer service and professionalism of everyone at Harrisonburg Hyundai. There is a sense of community among the employees where EVERYONE worked together to be welcoming and accommodating. In other dealerships, I've observed the competitive nature of the sales people where they act like sharks... each wanting to get to the customer first. Not here. We bought our car from the whole team.They earned our trust (which we are very careful to give), gave us a VERY fair deal (which we researched thoroughly) and will recommend them to everyone we know. Looking forward to working with them in the future.

I can honestly say this was the most rewarding, thorough, professional and customer oriented experience I have ever had when purchasing a vehicle. My father and I were comparing the leading four door sedans as recommended by Consumer Reports. We tried the Ford Fusion, Subaru Legacy, Honda Accord, and finally the Hyundai Sonata. All of the cars we tried were very nice and we narrowed down our search to the Subaru Legacy and the Hyundai Sonata. Both dealers were very helpful and friendly and willing to work with us on pricing. The Hyundai Sonata won hands down with an excellent price, even beating the metropolitan area dealers by hundreds of dollars. Jay, Sales Manager and Josh, Salesman, were incredibly straight forward with their pricing, offering us an excellent deal. Jay was even able to get my father an additional discount for his service in the United States Army in 1972! Jay and Josh worked tirelessly for us in our purchasing endeavor, earning them a much deserved recommendation for future car purchasers. Harrisonburg Hyundai has earned not only earned a five star rating from my father and I, but a loyal and appreciative client for many years to come.

Pat is very friendly and great to deal with. I told her a price range I was in for a car and she pulled me one up to test drive nicer than I thought but my price range. She didnt pressure me into the car or anything she is very patient. After i bought the car she took time to show me the feautres that came along with it. Josh was outstanding!!!! Customer service was superior. The rating was earned; not given. The ability to show us the best buy for our money; made great business sense. His knowledge of his products was second to none. we are looking for a vehicle within our price range, used certified or new (loaded). The Hyundai Santa Fe seem to meet our needs with lots of amenities. They both worked together well. There was no turf battle etc. we started out at the ford dealership. but the salesman, Dave, drove with us to the hyundai dealership to look at cmparable vehicles. they are part of a family of dealerships and they actually helped each other and complimented each others strengths. After driving home in our new accent, I checked edmunds to see what kind of deal we got, I was pleasantly surprised. Without much effort on my part, we received a price far under the average purchase price for the vehicle. They spent lots of time helping us understand the electronics ( syncing phone etc). Truly would recommend this family of dealerships to friends

The reason I rated Harrisonburg Hyundai with the high ratings is due mainly to Patricia Whitley. In February, of 2012, I bought my second Sonata from Patricia. From the very first day my wife and I met Patricia, we felt comfortable being around and discussing a deal with Patricia.I felt no pressure to buy and we were able to moved at a pace both my wife and I felt good about. I really can't say enough good things about Patricia Whitley. She's the kind of sales person I like, very knowledable about the vehicles and their features but not pushy and she answered all the questions my wife and I had and let us take all the time we needed in making our decision. We bought our first Hyundai Sonata several years back from Patricia, since then our family has purchased a couple others from her. We even recommended Patricia and Harrisonburg Automall to our neighbors across the street and they ended up going to see her as well. They have the best customer service I've been to, that's why I travel from Fairfax County all the way down to Harrisonburg,it's always enjoyable to do business with Patricia.
