Gotta say, though I ultimately didn’t find my unicorn used vehicle at this dealership, I had contacted them and was helped by Stephanie when I *thought* they had one for sale (turned out to be a slightly different model than what I needed). In any case, Stephanie kept in contact with me for several weeks, totally on the lookout for my unicorn car. If it had turned up on their lot (would have been a trade-in), I would absolutely have been pleased to work with her. She is friendly, funny, communicative, and obviously cares about her customers. If you go to this dealership, look for Stephanie. I’ll definitely recommend this dealership because of her!

A few months ago I purchased a new Volvo, which was my first purchase with Herzog-Meier Volvo. Doug Galloway and the rest of team who work there were wonderful! Doug was great to work with! He was extremely patient and kind, walking me through a few different options as I was a bit indecisive in which car I wanted. After test driving new and certified pre-owned models, I was able to make a choice I felt confident in. Overall, I had a great car buying experience!

I want to thank Stephanie for helping me make getting my wife a new car for our anniversary a special and a one of a kind event. She lined up several cars we discussed with bows, found a florist to deliver several bouquets of flowers, and had a complete staff to greet my wife and kids and allow her to pick the car of her childhood dreams....they made arrangement for my kids and I to let the staff explain each vehicle options and let her decide on her dream car without any pressure I need to add... I had called several dealerships to make this experience a reality and they ALL said no that it couldn't be done......except for Stephanie. We didn't end up purchasing, but our experience was excellence. We made a reservation to test drive online. Upon arrival the car was ready to take out. A Volvo rep met us, answered our questions, and then handed us the keys to take out and explore on our own. Once we returned, they answered a few more questions and then put the ball in our park to follow-up. We loved the zero pressure experience, knowledgeable folks on hand, and trust to test drive without someone in the car "selling" it to us. Highly recommended.

We had a Volvo S80 that was sorely in need of maintenace when we moved back to the Northwest. After a bad experience with the main Volvo Dealer in Reno, NV we had fallen behind in our maintenance but were unsure of this new dealer. However, the service team, then led by Alan Crandall, quickly helped us to be more comfortable and helped us map out what was needed. Since then, we have purchased a used XC90 (trading in the S80) and over the past 3 years we have enjoyed our relationship with the Service Dept. So now that we have purchased another used XC90 we have already talked with the Sevice Group (now led by Cory Morgan) and are looking forward to a long relationship with them

I have purchased several Volvos from Herzog-Meier over the years. The service (I've mostly dealt with Doug) department has always been courteous and knowledgeable. They have gone the extra mile to ensure that warranty issues were handled in a timely manner. I appreciate getting my car back after service nice & shiny and this morning even the seats were heated and the engine warmed up. Very nice on a cool morning.

As usual outstanding service from Alan and Doug. From the few quarts of oil a few days before my unexpected check engine light to a new V60 to drive while my car was being repaired and a 10% coupon to help with the cost. A great experience even for a car repair. I have gone to Herzog for service since 1995. This is my second Volvo and almost time for my third Volvo. :)

Prior to my experience with Herzog-Meier Volvo I never trusted dealerships and always thought they charged too much. But after 8 years of taking my car into Doug and Allan my only complaint is that I can't take my Toyota Tundra into their shop too. Their is no where else I would take my car.

My mom bought her 1999 Volvo S70 used from Herzog-Meier. For the last decade, I've heard from her about how wonderful Allan is in the service department. A week ago, I borrowed her car and ended up with a dead battery. Allan happened to be busy, so I met Doug, the service manager, who knew both my Mom and her car and greeted me warmly. He initially said the battery charge would be done for free, but the later called me with the unfortunate (but not surprising) news that her alternator needed to be replaced. We weren't sure we wanted to fix it and I asked him if I could leave the car for a few days. He said, "no problem," and really meant it. When I called later to say we planned to buy a new car, but weren't sure yet what to do with her old one, he said we could keep it on his lot as long as necessary, and even offered to connect me with a potential buyer if the trade-in didn't work out (which it didn't). I've called Doug at least 5 times in the last week and he always greeted me happily and I never had the feeling that I was bothering him. I've since also had the chance to meet Allan and I can see why my Mom loves them. We ended up buying a Volkswagen Passat from the same dealership and even though the VW service dept will take care of the car, we feel like we're keeping our car buying experience in the family, so to speak. I will write a separate review about my car buying experience, but in short, I highly recommend Herzog-Meier both for is sales and service.

Last week I took my Volvo in for its 60,000 mi. check-up. Doug in the service department was great. He set me up with a loaner vehicle (one of the new Volvo SUV's...a great ride, I might add). My car was washed and vacuumed when I picked it up and now I'm getting almost 2+ mpg better than when I brought it in. I can highly recommend the service department at Herzog-Meier!

Just had my car in the Service Department for a minor repair, a leak, which another repair shop said they wouldn't even look at - too difficult to fix. As always, they looked over my entire car and found some other items that needed to be addressed - rear brakes (I knew that was coming), transmission fluid change, and my 105K mile service. Herzog always does good work at a fair price and offer shuttle rides within a five mile radius. They completely dried my car out and got rid of some black mold that was growing under the carpet. Yuck! Greg, my point of contact is always friendly and helpful. I will continue to take my car to the Service Department for all maintenance and repair issues.

I bought my Volvo V50 9 years ago at Herzog-Meier and was very pleased with the sale. Since then I tried a few other shops for maintenance, but hands down, nobody offer the amazing service that Herzog-Meier does. Even though I only do my regular maintenance there (so I'm only in 2-3 times a year), Doug and Allan offer extremely personal and professional service. Super prompt appointments with thorough explanations of the service, and great practical advice and tips to keep the car going for as long as possible. I've never been disappointed at this dealership!

I have had my C30 4 1/2 yrs and knew I may need back brake service, called and made an appt. that was convienient for me. Got there early and got right in. Was informed I did need the back pads and what the approx cost would be and how long it would take while I waited. Nice New wait area. Nice surprise, the cost was a little less than the est. Was in and out in less than 2 hrs... both Doug and Allen are great at customer service, professional, friendly, and informative. Have delt with both Doug and Allen on several occasions and they work very well together. Love the complimentary car wash!

Great experience. Fast, professional, friendly. The waiting area is very nice. The only area for improvement would be better quality of washing my car. After it was washed, it was not dried properly, and there were several water spots. Also, there was still some dirt on the front windshield, etc.

I recently took my XC90 in for service at Herzog-Meier. There were a couple 'big ticket' items that needed to be addressed. I feel that I was well informed ahead of time about the work that was going to be done - before it was actually completed. Doug Smith, the assistant service manager, kept me in the loop every step of the way. Just as in the past, Doug was extremely professional and courteous. I have always been treated very well here. (Doug and Allan are terrific!) My 10 year old car looked great when I picked it up. It had been cleaned - per Doug's request. Thank you!

Recently, my car needed some maintenance service as well as repair. As always, Douglas Smith, the service manager was quite helpful. Since the auto center did not have the parts, Douglas ordered the parts promptly and made sure that the car was repaired in a timely manner. He even got me a loaner. I appreciated his helpful attitude professional behavior. My car was washed and the interior vacuumed after the repair. That is the meaning of good service.

I heart DOUGLAS & ALLAN! They are rock stars! They take amazing care of me, making me feel special and like I'm their only customer. I called them because I was having difficulty replacing the rear windshield wiper on my xc90. They told me to bring it over so they could take a look at it. They were able to fix it right away, seems I had broken the little plastic that it snaps into. When they brought my car back not even 5 minutets later they had also washed my car! I was so happy! Living in an apartment, that is a big deal for me! Thanks so much!

Most accommodating service center I've been too. One evening I came to drop my car off and it was going to be an hour wait for a cab. They gave me a ride home, even though it was out of the normal service area. They are knowledgeable and explain everything in detail. I would highly recommend this service center to everyone.

My tire pressure was low, so I stopped by without an appointment, and Douglas assisted me right away. It was refreshing to receive prompt, friendly service in an era when you sometimes wonder if anybody knows how to provide really great customer service anymore. Even more amazing is to be treated like the most important customer of the day when it was just a free tire inflation, and not be made to feel like it was an inconvenience. They even washed my car. Their Volvo service center is outstanding. Even though I've had some good dealer service experiences in my time, HZ Volvo is a Hilton compared to those Holiday Inns. It's premium service for a premium automobile. The original sales experience was also top notch. The salesman was a pro with a background in selling big-ticket products and very comfortable for me to do business with. We opted to take advantage of Volvo's offer to fly customers to Gothenburg to take delivery of our custom-built C30. That gave us the exact car we wanting at a great, no-haggle price.

I called Herzog-Meier Volvo Service Center to get some advice about a message notification on my 2013 Volvo C30. Douglas was able to make a short notice appointment and fit me into their busy schedule. Not only did they take care of the problem promptly, they also offered to shuttle me back to my house while they were working on my vehicle. A few short hours later, Doug had the shuttle come and pick me up from my home and drive me back to pick up the car. The car was washed and ready to go without any questions. Bottom line is, Douglas and the service team at Herzog-Meier Volvo truly care about their customers and their craft. As frustrating as auto problems are, Douglas always does his best to accommodate his customers and truly makes the experience more enjoyable. If I ever have any future automobile problems or simply need to get my vehicle serviced, I know Herzog-Meier Volvo will take care of my car in a professional and timely manner.

I keep coming back to Beaverton Volvo for service and to be completely honest, I would not trust my baby - a rare Volvo V70R 2005 to anyone else than the master mechanics at Beaverton Volvo and the 1st class customer service I have received from their service manager Douglas Smith.Also for comparison and the benefit of the doubt I do check prices with other shops and to date, no one never beat the quotes Ive gotten from Beaverton Volvo. If you have a Volvo this is the place to take it for service. Period. You wont be disappointed.

As always, whenever I take my Volvo in to get serviced Doug is always there to take care of me and make sure I get the service that my car needs. Not only is he proficient, professional and communicative, he is just fun to work with. Honestly, the only thing I will miss about selling my Volvo, if I don't purchase another Volvo anyway, is knowing that any other dealership or mechanic will be pale in comparison to how excellent Doug is!

This is my first experience with Herzog service. They were pleasant , efficient and very thorough in their explanation of the service that was performed on our car. The back windows' defrosting wire had been broken. We were unsure as to how it happened and what the fix was. Doug was able to replace the window for us and all covered by warranty ! We are very pleased with the entire sales and service team. My only desire would be to have a loaner car for the day of service since the dealership is so far from my work. Thank you for the good work !

I am extremely disappointed in the quality of service we just received on a minor 52k mile tune up. Two days after the tune up we got a flat tire from a rock on our way down from Mount Hood. When the flat was being fixed the mechanic checked the other tires and found that they were all over inflated to almost 50psi. Recommended is only 36psi. This is almost 40% over the recommended pressure and not safe. Especially driving on ice which we do every week on Mt. Hood. In the work order receipt from Volvo it says they inspected and adjusted tire pressure. I wonder what else they did not do correctly.I have been taking my Volvo to the dealer for these services under the assumption I would get better quality service than going to the independent oil change franchise. While the cost is significantly higher I expected significant better quality of service.Even before this incident we were not happy with the service department. My wife will not even call their service department anymore to make an appointment. The individuals that answer the phones are condescending and rude to her. We have taken our car there many times over the years and each time it is the same level of service (poor and rude).I was also very disappointed to hear that Herzog has decided not to provide rides when cars are dropped off to Oregons largest employer. They will only cover a 5 mile radius and this employers largest site is 5.5miles. I also own an Audi which is across the street from Volvo and they have no problem driving me to work or giving me a loaner car for the day. We will be looking to do our business elsewhere for now on.

About two weeks ago my warning message went from "Schedule Maintenance" to "Maintenance Overdue". When I was back in town I called and Doug told me that I have a 1500 mile window either way on scheduled maintenance. My bad, I was at less than 300 miles to go. I live in Warrenton now and that would not get me there and back. Doug politely fit me in fro the following day. Also, had them check out a sticky buckle on the front passenger seat belt. They did not have one in stock but will call me as soon as it is in. They are always great at followups. Again outstanding service without surprises.

Excellent service as always been the norm at Herzog Meier, but I really need to give a big thanks today to Allan Crandall. Allan is the service advisor and always patiently explains what I need for my car and why. Today, it was snowing at 18 degrees...and my head lamp bulb went out. On top of that I am hosting two out of state students this weekend and need to drive with working headlights. I pulled in and and Allan came running and within 5 minutes I was pulling out with a new light and was safe and happy. What I love is that Allan acts as if he is happy to do it...not that I put a jog in his workplan. Thanks again Allan...I so appreciate you! Pat K

My wife's favorite 2011 XC90 broke down Monday morning, and my wife couldn't get the kids to school. She was very frustrated and I called Doug up. After some technical assessment, he advised me to bring in our car as soon as possible. Doug slotted me in and we got our car back the very same afternoon! Doug is very knowledgeable and efficient. He went above and beyondthe call of duty to ensure that my car is fixed well and with the very best care. Doug is very attentive and gentle with the car. Thus the car was fixed in less than 3 hours! Doug is a first rate Service Manager! He explains in detail (to a girl like me) what & why something needs to be done He lets me know up front the cost of the service. Doug also does extra things, like washing the car & replacing windsheild wipers. I feel totally supported by his concern for my car. I highly recommend this Volvo service department.

I went to service department to purchase some antifreeze and have the guys put it in. Inside the service area, they directed me over to another department where they filled up the reservoir and when I went to pay, he said "No charge." I was truly amazed. !! Outstanding.

I took my car in because the anti skid service required light was on. They looked in to what was going on with my car and found that I needed a new DEM. I had already had a DEM replaced indeed warranty and reminded Doug of this. He and Allen went above and beyond and were able to get Volvo to pay for a new DEM because there was history of this part breaking in the past. They then paid for the labor to replace the part. I was so impressed with their kindness and ability to help me out!! Winter in coming and I don't know what I would have done if I wasn't able to get this part replaced. Thank you a million Doug and Allen, you guys are wonderful!!

I CAME TO HERZOG-MEIER WITH A FRIEND, WHO HAD WORKED WITH DOUG GALLOWAY ON A PREVIOUS CAR PURCHASE, LOOKING TO REPLACE A SUBARU NEEDING COSTLY REPAIRS. AFTER DOUG ASKED ME MY PRICE RANGE, HE SAID "WAIT JUST A MINUTE", AND REAPPEARED DRIVING A VOLVO V50 WHICH WAS EXACTLY WHAT I'D BEEN SEARCHING FOR AND COULDN'T FIND AND AT THE PRICE I'D TOLD HIM I COULD AFFORD. After 10 years, my OEM battery was finally done for. Dropped by on my way home 8/26 and got an appointment for 9:00 the next day. Because I left home early (not knowing if I would need a jump start), I arrived very early for the appointment. They took the car to service right away and had it completed - and washed! - 5 minuites BEFORE my scheduled appointment, and even before i had finished my cup of coffee.

So, i'm not currenlty a volvo owner. I took my little toyota to Herzog on a referral from a friend to work with Doug. After medicore service experiences in other dealerships, my expectations weren't that high. However working directly with Doug was great! My new Volvo's airconditioning did not work. Found that out on a trip to Eastern Oregon in 90 degree plus weather. Took it in to Herzog Meier and they took care of the problem in no time. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark Wanaka at Herzog-Meier a few weeks ago. I was looking for a newer Volvo XC-70 AWD wagon to replace one that had been lost in an accident. Mark showed me a 2007 ruby red wagon; a gorgeous car! We hopped in, and took Ruby for a drive; honestly; the car drove herself; She literally didn't have a mark on her! Less than five minutes into the drive, I'd already bought the car mentally. In the meantime, Mark and I talked about everything but cars; family; sports, music, schools, what we've been doing in Portland since 1968; our aspirations for our kids; grand kids; you name it! We bought a Volvo C30 on March 27, 2013. At the very end of the sale as we were getting ready to drive away we asked Boris, our sales person for the other key to car. He said, "I can only find one right now." We said, "That's a problem. We have to have two keys." He said he'd go look for it. He came back a few minutes later and said that he was having trouble finding it- but would send it to us. We took him at his word.We then called Nick the sales manager at Herzog Meier twice the following week. He said they would look for another key. That was a month ago, and we haven't heard back. The key that they sold us with our car had a dead battery and almost left us stranded. We were forced to go to another Volvo Dealer, Jim Fisher and have them make us a new key, as well as replace the dead battery in the key they sold us. For the $24,000 we paid for our Volvo we expected two working key. Unfortunately they were ok with selling us a car without one working key.We have tried to resolve this via phone, email and BBBIf you're looking for cars WITHOUT working keys- this is your place!

Whenever I call Doug and/or Allen in the service department, I feel like I'm calling my big brothers. I know that my car will be in great hands and it will be top notch when I pick it up. I don't have to worry about them trying to over 'find' things to fix and charge me an arm and a leg for stuff that really didn't need to be done. Doug Smith at Herzog-Meier Volvo exceeded my expectations. I dropped off our XC90 unannounced Sunday because the check engine light came on. He called me that day (on his day off!) and said even though Monday is a very busy day, he would be sure to fit us in the schedule. By 7:40am on Monday morning, he already advised me about the issue and I was ready to pickup my XC90 by 10am! On top of it, he was extremely nice and eager to help me. It was a big wow factor. We bought our car at that dealership, and I'm happy to say the service is excellent.

My name is Mark Cronrath. Monday, June 17th, I took my daughter's Volvo S40 in to HM because the check engine light was coming on. I was met at the service counter by Doug( I apologize I can't remember his last name). He was very professional, and courteous. That made a good first impression of the dealership. Doug got me settled into the customer lounge area with a comfortable chair, and a good cup of coffee.Doug kept me informed with everything that was going on with the service of the car telling me that the part that had failed was going to be covered under warranty. I told my daughter after everything was done, that if her car needs service she should take it to the dealership as I told she would find the service excellent. I routinely receive excellent service from Allan and Doug, however today Service Manager Doug Smith "hit it out of the ballpark." When car trouble necessitated towing my car to Herzog-Meier, Doug came out to greet me before the service shop officially opened, listened to my concern, and said he would call me when there was news to tell. Once the problem was identified, Doug took it upon himself to contact Volvo and see if the warranty would cover the significant repair bill. The "powers that be" at Volvo agreed to pick up the full repair bill. Doug did this on his own initiative -- without prompting from me. He took care of my car like it was his own. I couldn't ask for anything more.

I heart DOUG SMITH! Whatever has happened with my car (this time it was a major blow-out on I-5, necessitating a new tire), Doug acts like I've made his day to get to see my car. I feel so well taken care of; he answers my questions, anticipates my concerns and tries to save me money. Plus, I feel like he always moves me to the front of the line. I called the day before to see if I could get a ride somewhere while my car was being serviced, Allan said absolutely. As soon as I arrived that morning he picked up his phone to see where the driver was, assured me he would be there very soon. showed me where to sit, offered coffee, came out a few minutes later and said the driver would be there in about 10 minutes and I said perfect, the driver was there in less time than that. Allan called 2 or 3 hours later to say the car was ready and when I picked it up he and the other man were very friendlyand went over what was done and off I went. Very pleasant experience.

Very professional and quick staff. Even on a Saturday the service team was willing to drop me off at the shopping center, while I was waiting. This was a nice gesture considering they would have gone out of their way to get me there because the shuttle was not running on Saturday. Within a couple days of purchasing a used Volvo, i was contacted by Douglas Smith to alert me of a pending warranty issue and they wanted to get me scheduled right away to get it taken care of. We set up an appointment date, he was very clear on the phone that he would need the car for 4hours and he arranged for me to use a loaner car. I got to the dealership and a service employee opened the door for me as I approached, wished me a good morning and a smile - the guy behind the counter was Douglas Smith who acknowledged me by name and had all the paperwork ready to go. He just needed a couple of signatures and I would be on my way with a (equal in quality of my own car) loaner full of fuel. He also asked if I would like my car washed while they had it - I had a smarty pants answer of "what's that gonna cost me?" He said its a courtesy, we will wash your car when we are done and you'll get your car back all clean. WOW, very impressive. It was a great experience, your team if VERY friendly - I have been to many other dealerships for service and have NEVER been treated this politely. I live in Vancouver, WA and this is quite a drive for me to go to this dealership - in fact, passing a much closer dealership with less than attentive employees. My vehicle was towed to Herzog-Meier Volvo after having a CEL pop up while driving on the highway. My Volvo was due for its 90,000 mile check-up. Allan Crandall, Volvo Service Manager, called me to remind me that it was due. Talking to Allan is like talking to your best friend, even if you have not had contact with him for a year or two it talks to you like it was yesterday. They had a brand new Volvo CX60 ready as my loaner and I hardly got to the service desk when Allan was handing me the keys to the loaner and off I went. Allan called later to tell me what additional service I would need and made sure I understood what needed to be done. When I picked up my car it was washed, running perfectly and I left knowing that I could call Allan with any questions or concerns. Excellent service and Great Staff.

Last Friday afternoon while I was getting my Volvo filled with gasoline at a local service station, my fuel filler door became inoperable. I needed to get it fixed because the fuel filler door wouldn't shut. At the time, I thought that the best I could probably expect would be a temporary fix given that it was Friday afternoon. I was wrong. I took my car to the Herzog-Meier Volvo service department, they acted quickly and I had my car back with a permanent fix in less than 30 minutes. Great service! Volvo repaired the sunroof on our S80 after it exploded in the air dryer at a car wash for free. They handled it quickly and were very kind when talking to us about the issue. They spoke to the car wash company too for us. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. The experience with this kind of issue was very scary inside the car wash and having Volvo step up and reassure us that all will be fine, was comforting.

Came into town with a bad running engine on my 1997 Ford truck. My son recommended your shop. Called Doug and he got me in that same evening so work could start first thing the next morning. By 9am Doug called and explained the problems and recommended a course of action. He and Allen followed through exceptionally well and my truck was ready by 5pm that day, not the next day as was estimated. When I picked it up it had been washed and the bill was less than I had anticipated when I dropped it off. We drove it home, 350 miles, the next day without a hitch. THANKS FOR THE GREAT JOB!

I didn't rate "price" because I didn't think it was relevant to service--besides I know nothing about what the service is worth.Doug Smith was outstanding also and always is. He provided a loaner car for me, picking out the one he thought would be best (I am 81 years old), and when I left my garage door opener in the loaner car, he sent it to me because I live about 40 miles from the shop.The waiting room is pleasant. Cookies, fruit, coffee, tea are provided for the customers. I recently tangled with a garbage can and needed my passenger side mirror put back together. Doug Smith took a look at it and with a good deal of effort managed to get it back together. Since this wasn't the first time I'd managed to bump it, the plastic casing was missing some clips. Doug came up with a good work around to keep it together and saved me a costly replacement. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the service department of this dealership, specifically Douglas Smith. I am from the Seattle area and was visiting Portland for a quick weekend trip. The minute I arrived at my destination, my 2005 Volvo XC90 unpleasantly surprised me with an issue making my car undriveable. I had to have it towed --- luckily, my car was towed to Herzog-Meier Volvo. It was 9:00 on a Saturday night and I was called by Douglas before my car was even towed! He had received a text message alert that my car was heading to his service department. Over the phone, he explained what would happen next and promised to help me get back on the road as soon as possible. He proactively kept me informed as to the issue of the car and timelines for getting me back on the road. Douglas was able to get the service department to do a quick fix (as the part needed was not available)for a nominal fee to get me back on the road BEFORE I needed to leave Portland, as well provide a diagnostic sheet for me to take to my Seattle dealership to finish the job. He even had my car washed for me! Douglas and his team's support and above and beyond customer service allowed me to enjoy my trip, even with the unexpected car issues.

I have had my 3rd volvo for 12 years, and the check engine light went on. i have the car towed in and ended up buying a new car from doug galloway, who is a great car salesman. the old car was also repaired and is back to running fine, at 176,000 miles. Allan crandall has been there the entire time, and doug galloway is newer, but both are always friendly and competent. the service i got there was part of the reason i got a new car from herzog-meier.I HOPE THAT BY SENDING IN THIS REVIEW I AM NOT INNUNDATED BY EMAILS. I bought a new '12 Volvo XC70 T6 in November 2012. This is my third Volvo. I am totally sold on the brand. I dealt with Doug during the whole process. As a matter of disclosure, I was in auto sales about 10 years ago. Doug is very professional and has built up a loyal referral following. If you are in automotive sales referral business is Nirvana. It takes a great service mindset, attention to detail and lots of hard work to have a successful referral following. Doug took time out of his day off to finalize the sale with me. Not only did Doug work me a great deal on a great car, his total followup after the sale was excellent. He stuck with me for over a half an hour helping me program my cell phone into the car's infotainment system. The car picked up my wife's Android on the first pass. My Android was not so easy. More of a Motorola or Verizon problem and not the Volvo. I asked Doug if he would prefer if I talked to Verizon as I knew that my cell phone blue tooth was quirky and it was getting late. I felt bad that I was keeping him late. Doug insisted on working the problem through and did not want the car to leave the lot until everything was working properly. Hats off to Doug. This is the best car sales experience I have ever had. If any of my friends, relatives or acquaintances wish to purchase a Volvo or even a VW or Mazda I will definitely refer them to Doug. The next time I need to buy a new or used car I will go to Doug.

The Volvo service manager at Herzog-Meier, Doug, is Awesome! Very friendly, and super helpful.I didn't have any previous experience at this location, but while shopping for a used volvo, I found one a few miles away and called to see if they could fit me in for a pre-purchase inspection. They were able to fit me in the same day! They did a full inspection of the car for me, then Doug took time to clearly explain the issues they found, and gave me really useful advice before I went back to haggle over the price.I did end up buying the car, and when I picked it up on Saturday to bring it back to Doug for service (yes, they are open on Saturday!) - I got there just before closing time. Of course, I had missed the shuttle driver but Doug was nice enough to have me wait a little bit until he got off work, then he drove me back to my car on his own time! That is service above and beyond what I've experienced other places, for sure! As an added bonus, the waiting room there is super comfy, and they have delicious cookies and snacks set out for their customers.I don't live near by at all, but I will most certainly be back when my volvo needs attention.Thanks Doug!

The service at Herzog Meier far exceeds the other local Portland\Metro dealership. Douglas was such a pleasure to work with and was truly interested in solving my issue properly which he did. He and Allan work as a team so you never feel ignored waiting for your assigned service representative. The waiting room environment is top notch at this facility. I dont like putting a 5 rating on price because Volvo parts are very expensive. However, my service this day did come in less than quoted and this team is very conscientious to make sure warrantees are applied when possible. Surprisingly, that is not the case at all local Portland\Metro Volvo dealerships. I drive miles out of my way to have my car serviced by Hertzog Meier and it is worth it.

Stopped in to get new wiper blades ... I was in and out in 15 minutes including a car wash!!! I had replaced my own blades a couple of months ago and they were not doing the job. I called and talked to Allen and he assured me that the Volvo blades would correct the problems I was having. Allen is always pleasant and very accommodating. Everytime I go to Herzog Meier Volvo for my routine service, I'm personally greeted by Doug or Allan, and they're very friendly and polite gentlemen. I scheduled a routine service plus brake pads and put them on the clock because I had to wait for it and get back home (an hour's drive) to take my daughter to the airport. In addition to being friendly and courteous, they called me back into the office after a few minutes to offer me a loaner car that had become available so I wouldn't need to do the expected 4 hour wait in the waiting room or rely on the shuttle to nearby businesses. A nice and unexpected surprise. To top it all off, they finished my service in 2.5 hours rather than 4 so they called and sent me on the rest of my errands well ahead of schedule. This was an exceptionally pleasant service although all the service I've received from Herzog Meier has been excellent. I was asked to mention Douglas and Allan specifically and I understand there's a lunch in it for them. I hope so guys.

Allan Crandall is the quintessential perfect customer service representative. I have owned Mercedes, BMW, and many other new luxury vehicles. Allan's handling of my Volvo service needs has surpassed any prior experiences I have had with any car dealership. During tight economic times many businesses are cutting back on customer service, which is a mistake. When a service rep such as Allan is encountered, it increases our loyalty to the business. Herzog-Meier Volvo has earned my loyalty.I drive 3 1/2 hours so that I can have my car serviced at Herzog-Meier Volvo rather than at my local Volvo dealership. This is due to the excellent, friendly, and efficient service I know I will receive from Allan and the parts and service staff in general. And the employees in those departments seem to love their jobs. That is passed onto the customer and we appreciate how pleasant our experience is. No amount of advertising or marketing can replace this.I plan to purchase my next vehicle from Herzog-Meier so that I can continue to receive great service from them in the future. Seemed to be getting the run around and was growing annoyed. Car was missing a key and 2 weeks later a headlight washer cover. Herzog Meier Volvo (and Doug specifically) took such great care of me! I recently bought a 2010 XC60. When I called Jim Fisher Volvo to make an appointment for my 30,000 mile check, I was told that I "may or may not" be responsible for the 500 dollar cost of the service (it was my understanding that my FSM warranty was in effect). When I emailed Jim Fisher the next day to inquire as to whether or not I would be responsible for the cost, I received no response. Two days later, I cancelled my appointment with Jim Fisher. When I called Doug, he was extremely helpful. He quickly researched my warranty, phoned me back and got me in within the week for my service, which was covered by the FSM warranty. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Herzog Meier Volvo. Thank you, Doug!

I Recently had my transmission fluid flushed in my 2000 Volvo XC70 at Herzog-Meier in Beaverton. When I got it back there were no Leaks, no mess, and the car was returned washed. Transmission now shifts more smoothly and at no point was I "up-sold" or pressured about additional service.

I purchased my 2012 Volvo S60 T6 from Herzog via the OSD program in 2011. I have since put 30,000 miles on my car (Yes, I drive a lot) and I have taken my car in for all of my scheduled maintenance here. They service person I always end up working with is Doug Smith and I can tell you that I have never had a better experience with any company (car or otherwise) because of Doug. He is intelligent, knows exactly what I am saying and asking for. He is very quick to respond by email, always keeps me posted on the status and I can tell he works extremely hard to keep all of his customers satisfied and I can tell you I am beyond satisfied! Of course I can't just mention Doug, I am sure there is a small army of people behind Doug who make him look amazing and I would like to say that the entire service department at Herzog-Meier Volvo is top notch! Thank you H-M for all that you have done and I look forward to many more cars and maintenance trips through you....

We purchased our second new car from Herzog in 2004. We've had all our service done at the dealership. I have enjoyed working with Doug and Allan at different times. Today I had a minor issue, a position light bulb was burnt out. I talked with Doug, brought the car in and he showed me how to change the light bulb and then washed the car, WOW. Fast, efficient, and very helpful.I look forward to our next purchase from Herzog.

This was my third time having Doug Smith help me with service on my 2000 S80. Each time he has demonstrated the kind of interest, respect, courtesy, and professional knowledge that invites customers to return for further help when it is needed. Probably most of the time nobody thinks the price of Volvo repairs are "great", but I think the charges Doug made are reasonable, (on my first visit - installation of a climate control module I would have rated it "great".) I have no reservation about recommending HM, and specifically Doug Smith, for Volvo repair or service. Jim Bean

We moved from Texas about a year ago and have had the pleasure of having our XC70 and S80 serviced at Herzog Meyer. I say pleasure because Doug Smith has been the BEST service advisor we have ever had at a Volvo dealership. Doug is pleasant, proficient and pro-active in assuring our satisfaction with our car maintenance. It feels more like we are going to visit a friend, instead of bringing our cars in for service. I normally don't take the time to write reviews, but this time I feel compelled to because of my experience with Doug Smith. He was absolutely fantastic. I've always felt apprehensive about going into dealerships but within moments of talking to Doug I felt as though I was family. I came in there insisting to buy just one tire to replace the one that was flat however he helped me make a decision to replace all of my tires instead of just the one. Doug was able to identify the dangerous condition of my other tires that I could not see and would have ignored had he not made me feel so at home. In the end I got a great deal and now I have the peace of mind that my family is safer thanks to Doug's help.

Doug in Volvo service ROCKS! From moment one when I called when my car wouldn't start, Doug took care of me - he handled the tow, kept me informed, went the extra mile to get me a rental, and even had the snow cleaned off my car when I came to pick it up! I could not ask for a more hassle-free, pleasant experience. If you have to have the unfortunate experience of having your car break down, you can only hope that you get to deal with Doug at Herzog-Meier!

My call contacted a live person; my conection to Volvo Service was instant; the service representative, Douglas Smith, understood my problem immediately and I had an appointment within two days for service; Volvo Service, going the extra mile,discovered that I needed some seriouos extra work that could be done concurrently, which led to a call to me; I agreed and the extra work was carried out. I picked up my volvo just hrs after the initial appointment; I was totally satisfied.

After a frustrating experience with my last used car, I finally gave up and decided to trade it in. Had a great experience with the sale process at Herzog-Meier, and the service experience has been even better. Doug Smith in the Service Department has been especially kind and helpful--he even gave me his lunch one day when I was hungry and thing took longer than I expected! I won't be going anywhere else from now on.

I experienced a "BRAKE FAILURE, STOP WITH CAUTION" warning on a dark, rainy night home from work. I called Herzog-Meier at 8am the next morning and spoke to Doug about the warning light, who didn't want to take any chances, especially with my toddler son on my commute, and asked me to bring in the Volvo XC ASAP. I brought the car in that night, and since rush hour would affect my husband's pick-up, Doug had one of his employees drive my son and me to a local restaurant (of my choosing) to wait for my husband. Doug had his tech look at my car first thing in the AM, and I received a detailed description of the problem and estimate by 8:53am. The ABS control replacement cost was not pleasant so close to the holidays, but Doug's description of what could happen if it failed made the fix a no-brainer. He also looked at the maintenance history and recommended a few other services to keep the car running well, and gave comparison estimates on outside garages for a couple of them. I ended up having 4 additional services completed by Herzog. And although Doug suggested a holiday detailing special, he didn't push when I declined.Service was completed within 24 hours of the estimate approval, and on pick-up, my car was washed and warmed up awaiting my arrival. Great service all around!

This is the only review I've ever written, but the service was top notch, and I felt compared to write a review. I have been to probably every service department in the greater Portland area. Doug, in Volvo service, was excellent to work with, honest, and took time to communicate with me about my car. If every service place was like this, the car business would be much better. I can't say enough good things about this place, my experience was 100% good from start to finish. I will definitely be bring my cars to Doug in the future. Highly recommended!

I can not rave about this dealship enough!! Doug was so amazing and nice to work with! Really put my needs first even if it was inconvience for him! I emailed the dealership for a price on a car I saw on their web site. Within a very short time Amanda Hilliker called. She got me a price, researched details for me and answered all my questions. Later that day I called with more questions and to inquire about the customer loyalty discount. Again, she researched and got answers to all my questions. We live about 500 miles from Herzog Meier and yet it was one of the easiest car purchases I've ever made. THANK YOU AMANDA She turned the final purchase details over to Dave Stackable, he took over and we had the car at home within a few days!

I have used the service dept for years at Herzog Meier. They are wonderful to work with. Very honest and trustworthy. They are very effecient and accomodating to getting the car in and getting the service done in a timely manner. They have great prices on their services. This was out third volvo purchased form Herzog Meier and this was by far the best experience. I was replacing a car that was totaled in an accident so I knew exactly what I wanted. Within a few days Doug found me a car that matched everything I had asked for and even drove down south to pick up the car himself. Doug got me a great deal with no haggling, we signed the papers in no time and were on our way. I also have to mention that Herzog Meier has a great Volvo service department. They take great care of you and your car!

Although I had to wait nearly three months to actually receive my custom built Volvo XC 60, I am delighted! Tom Herzog called me to schedule my delivery and also shared that one rear glass window had been damaged in transport. He ordered a replacement glass and flew it in from wherever, Sweden? So its fixed and totally unnoticeable.Also Doran picked me up at the AMRAK station and brought me to the dealership on my delivery day. This was perfect for me as I had walked to the AMTRAK station in my hometown. This has been the best car buying experience I have ever had.
