I will preface this by saying I got incredibly lucky with timing, inventory, and just the universe aligning in general - but Mark and the team at Hodges were absolutely wonderful and made my car buying experience so easy! I ended up walking away with a brand new Impreza that I've been dreaming about for years with a lower payment than I had on my last car. The team there was friendly and supportive and helped ease my worries. Truly a wonderful place to buy a car (if they can keep the lot stocked!)

I've been working with Patrick at Hodges Subaru for about 2 months now and the experience has been educational and thorough. Patrick kept me up to date with tracking inventory and the shipment of my desired color of the Wilderness edition outback while answering all of my questions even on his day off. Even though I ended up having to go to another dealership due to a delayed shipment from the factory, Patrick remained helpful and educational, and welcomed me back for service or help at Hodges since it is my local dealership.

Bought a car there and there were a lot of unexpected fees when it came time to sign the dotted line. The salesman was very dismissive of my concerns and frustrations. Returned years later to purchase another car (from a different salesman this time) and the car they had put on hold for me was sold to someone else. They then tried to sell me another car that was about 5k more in price. Both experiences felt shady, and gave me the impression that they were not very organized. I like the idea of working with a dealershipt that specialized in Subarus, and that were close to my home, but I'm going somewhere less convenient next time.

I was concerned when I brought my Subaru in for i't 1st oil change Jan 2011. They informed me I was down 2 quarts of oil. I couldn't believe that because I have NEVER had a car that used oil. I was told some Subaru's use 1 qt of oil every 1000 miles and that is exactly what my car does and has for almost 5 years. Now that I have over 60K miles and they are going to fix the oil consumption problem I am not a candidate because it was never documented that is was using oil. How do I know what they put on the documentation??? So. This car is going to be paid off this week and I KNOW I won't buy another one. I was pretty much told by the service manager today, that I was not truthful, They claim they keep very good records, and if my car was down 2 qts it would have been noted and it wasn't; so now I am just out of luck and stuck with the oil consumption and probably oil ring leaks in the future...adding $8.00 to transportation costs every 1000 miles gets expensive. Every 3 tanks of gas, I must add a qt of oil. This is wrong Hodges Subaru! You need to stand by your customers, not accuse them of lying. I faithfully drove all the way from Port Huron to Hodges Subaru from Nov 2010-Jan 2013. But the cost of gas and time forced me to find a closer service place lately. I guess if I had still come there the past 2 years they would have miraculously remembered our conversation back in Jan 2011. right....

My husband and I shopped around for a new car and decided to check out the Outback. Hodges was a closest to us and also recommended by a friend. I was very impressed the car. The salesman spent time with us, was able to answer all our questions and the follow up by the dealership was great. Our car came in several weeks early and when we picked it up, our salesman, John Gawaran spent allot of time making sure we know how everything worked as well as did a follow up email after. I would recommend Hodges without any hesitation and I love my new Outback!

I sold my car earlier than I expected, was borrowing cars for a few weeks and had no idea what kind of car I wanted. After talking to a few people about Subarus, I was put in contact with Hodges Subaru through the Costco Auto Program. John Gawaran contacted me promptly, and provided me with some great information right away that allowed me to narrow down the type of Subaru that would work best for me. I was able come in for an appointment, and because of his great attention to detail, he made the car shopping and purchasing process so easy and enjoyable! He knew the Forester so well and took quite a bit of time with us to orient us to the features of the car and setting and synching things. John Zajac. in the Finance Department was also so great to work with. I would have to say that this is the most enjoyable car buying experience that I have ever had. I would definitely recommend John Gawaran at Hodges.

Our family recently found ourselves in a tough situation. Down a car, we were struggling to get to work on a daily basis. After lots of research and many phone calls, we contacted Hodges Subaru and instantly felt "taken care of". Patrick Tierney went above and beyond to help put us in the exact kind of vehicle we were looking for. We love our Subaru Impreza Sport. Gas mileage is great and most importantly we feel safe to put our 2 year old daughter in the back seat. The process took a couple of days due to our particular situation; however Patrick and the rest of Hodges staff were patient and understanding to our needs. I was a loyal customer of Hodges. There is an oil consumption issue with my 2011 Forester that has existed for years. No one at Hodges told me about the issue despite the service bulletins on this problem. I used to go out of my way to come to this dealer. Now I feel bitter about coming out of my way to try and get this problem resolved and the service department is not doing what they should to get the problem resolved.I will not be buying any more Subaru here and probably won't buy another Subaru - the love is gone,

After 3 months of research I determined that a Subaru was the best car to meet my needs. I visited 3 different Subaru Dealerships and chose Hodges for several reasons. The sales rep Danielle Isabell was very easy to work with and when I asked for the best price she could offer I was very pleased with the price presented to me. She did not ever get pushy, answered all of our questions, made a suggestion to test drive the Outback after we drove a Forrester which ended up being the deciding factor for switching from the Forrester to the Outback. She never tried to make up our mind but listened to our needs and made suggestions based on our comments. I highly recommend purchasing a car from this dealership and sales person. After several days of driving the Outback is everything I hoped it to be and more.

What I like most about the store is the family atmosphere, small quaint showroom. You will not get lost in the shuffle at this store. I decided to check out Subaru, since my old lease was up at the end of March. I talked with Chuck Modrak at Hodges in January of this year since I wanted to start investigating. I had lots of questions and he spent thoroughly answered every one. And the prices seemed reasonable. I went to the Hodges in March and met with Chuck. He remembered me. Both I and my husband needed cars. My husband decided on the Imprezza and I was interested in comparing the Forrester and the Outback. For every question I asked so I could compare the models, Chuck gave me really good information so I could make a decision. All in all, the whole process -- from getting info to test drives to doing the paperwork and picking up the cars -- went great.

Worked with several Subaru dealers in the area and while most were good and some were awful (sorry to say), Danielle Isabell and the team at Hodges Subaru was head and shoulders above the rest.They called as soon as they got and email from us that we were interested in a Subaru; invited us over to look at possibilities and guided us through the process as well as anyone could expect. MOST OF ALL... there was no pressure to buy! Some dealers gave us the "I pass this way but once" so you better take my deal at what we thought was an exorbitant price. I purchased my car through the Costco Auto purchasing program. They match your zip code with a participating dealer of your desired car brand. My match was Hodges Subaru of Ferndale. I didn't even know where Ferndale was, but learned it was not that far. They made the initial contact and off I went for a test drive. I worked with Sheri Lyn Grzywinski and she was wonderful. Answered my many questions with patience and professionalism. I would have never thought to make "Ferndale" my car buying destination before this match, but I am glad I did. Now also have a new favorite breakfast eatery just down the block from the dealership, thanks to Sheri's recommendation. Hodges Subaru and Sheri made the entire experience wonderful. The staff went out of their way to make it a smooth and easy car purchase. 5 stars, most definitely, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new Subaru Crosstrek XV Hybrid!!! Can't wait to go back for my complimentary 3500 mile oil change!

First time I went to the dealership for something minor they found out $2,000 worth of things to repair. Went to my mechanic and he could only find one minor thing that is wrong on the car. Second time I went there because I had electrical problem and they had to remove air bag. I didn't want to take it to the regular mechanic. They over charged me and car had other issues right after I took it from the shop. Avoid this place by all means!!!

Sheri made the experience easy and very positive. She went above and beyond to find the exact car that I wanted. When there was a small hiccup in the financial process, she quickly resolved it. The license plate on my turn-in vehicle was damaged, and she even ordered me a new one and changed it when it arrived. My wife and I recently purchased (5/20) a new 2014 Forester 2.5i Premium from Danielle Isabell at Hodges Subaru. I cannot stress how good the experience was from start to finish. Danielle did a superb job of assisting us, from internet inquiry all the way through delivery of our new car. Neither my wife or I particularly enjoy the process of purchasing a new car. But Danielle gained our trust early on. She was always timely with replies, she was polite and courteous, she was very easy to talk to and put us at ease. When we arrived at the dealership to test drive vehicles she was with another customer but came over to let us know she would be right with us. Danielle made sure to answer my wife's questions and set her at ease, something too many salespeople fail to do. She even asked about my wife when I took delivery since she could not come and asked me to say hi, a very nice personal touch. Danielle followed up with me even on her day off, and answered all my questions. She was able to swing a dealer trade for the our preferred color and was able to get it done quickly. Price negotiations were done quickly and fairly. I believe I received an excellent price on not only my new Subaru, but also on my trade-in. Danielle was clearly interested in not just making a sale, but also in satisfying us as customers. When I arrived to take delivery she had everything prepped and I was in and out the door in about 30 minutes (which allowed me to watch my Red Wings!!!). Since taking delivery she has followed up personally to make sure that everything was too our satisfaction.Bottom line, this was the best overall car purchase experience we have ever had. We will be members of the Hodges Subaru family for a long time!!!

I was looking for a basic model 2014 Subaru Forester and was checking inventory at local dealerships. I had purchased my 2010 Forester at Glassman in Southfield and the experience was just okay - not great but not bad either. They didn't have any basic models in stock- just the higher end models and I did not want to spend that much money. I also checked with Dwyer in Ann Arbor- same thing, only higher end models in stock. Just on a whim, without checking their inventory I went to Hodges on a Saturday morning. They not only had what I wanted in stock, they were very courteous and friendly. They gave me a fair trade-n value on my 2010 Forester and a fair price on the 2014 and I closed the deal without even test driving the car. I was able to take the car home that same day, despite not financing through Hodges and not having the title to my 2010 with me at the time. Overall, I was very impressed that such a small dealership provided such great service.

If your looking for a Subaru there are many dealers to choose from. If you want to be treated with respect and feel comfortable with your purchase then Hodges is the dealer. Danielle Isabell simply rocks! She has a no pressure sales technique and is very patient. It took me a few weeks to make a decision on the exact vehicle I purchased and I am very happy with my decision. I highly recommend Hodges and especially Danielle.

This dealership may be small, but their customer service makes a HUGE impact.The store front and curbside lot are small. Don't let that fool you. The building is small, but clean and well organized. I was initially afraid that many of the cars I had seen on their website were not in inventory. There is a second lot tucked away a few blocks away with a large well stocked inventory.I was shopping for a car to replace my beloved 2010 Impreza that was totalled in a traumatic accident. That was my second Subaru. Both of my prior Subaru vehicles saved my life in accidents. The entire staff took the time to welcome me, hear my stories, offer condolences. I was blown away by how comfortable I was made to feel at a time that was for me personally very difficult.I was afraid to even get in the first car I drove. TJ Mendiola was patient and understanding the entire time. He directed me to drive the first test vehicle to the second lot. Once there I was treated to a hands on sampling of many vehicles. TJ explained the standard features, any upgrade packages of each vehicle in great detail. I was able to quickly compare and sample my options with confidence, feeling I was armed with the best knowledge of the Subaru line possible.I selected a tangerine orange 2013 Crosstrek limited. This is my third Subaru. Its been 4 weeks and I am loving the car.I used the Costco auto program. The entire transaction was handled perfectly by Hodges from initial email to completion of the transaction. I brought my own financing to the table. They ran my credit to see if they could beat my rate. The process was treated as consultative. I didnt feel there was high pressure to use their financing.The easiest part of the aftermath of this accident was getting a replacement car. Visiting Hodges felt like visiting a family welcoming a new friend. This is a no pressure sales environment with a friendly knowledgeable staff. I would recommend checking them out if you are looking for a car.

Hodges Subaru is by far the best dealership around. This is my second time purchasing a vehicle from them and I was still impressed by their level of service and friendliness. I am a single mom that works full time and does not have a lot of time to go into a showroom and haggle over prices. I contated Danielle Isabell, salesperson extraordinaire, via e-mail and we were able to decide on price, trim level and financing all via several short e-mails. We spoke on the phone twice to exchange personal information that she did not want me to communicate via electronic means (very considerate as I hadn't even considered it).I walked in to turn in my old Forester (the lease was up) and was immediately greeted upon entering the dealership. One of the always friendly service people was more than happy to come outside with me (in the rain) and pry a bike rack off my vehicle (the key wasn't working). He sent me back inside so that I wouldn't be wet and then brought it to me smiling.When doing my financing and signing the paperwork, I was asked several times if I had quesitons or wanted further explanations of anything in the paperwork. I had purchased/leased vehicles before so I didn't need additional information but found it pleasing that they would spend any amount of time possible to make me feel comfortable with my purchase.Danielle took me out to my vehicle and went over every square inch of it to make sure it met my needs and was up to my expectations. She helped me to sync the bluetooth on my iPhone with my radio and showed me how to make hands-free calls and play music. She was a champ when I started squealing because I was so excited! My son's booster seat was installed in the back of the vehicle and I was ready to go...with a full tank of gas.Even though I love Subaru vehicles, one of the main reasons I continue to drive Subarus is so that I can work with the Hodges personnel and get my car serviced there. I've been known to take my laptop and get some work done in their newly refurbished client lounge/waiting area...plus you can't beat the coffee.The guys in the service area are always a fun bunch to deal with and perform maintenance and repairs within the estimated time or faster. Being a woman, I'm sometimes sensitive about being treated like a "gal that doesn't know cars" but I've never had that experience at Hodges. Jeff and Greg, in the service department, recognize me and always say hello when I am there. I was recently driving by the dealerlship with my son when Greg waved. My son asked who that man was and I said "Well that's Greg. He fixes mama's car." My son's response? "He seems really nice. Can I go there with you next time?" I think you have a future Subaru owner on your hands!I could go on but this is long enough and I think I've gotten my point across. Whenever anyone asks me about my Subaru, I always say that I LOVE it and direct them to Hodges. Keep up the great work team!

I have purchased from Hodges Subaru before. The deal is honest a straightforwared. There is nothing hidden. Everyone in the organization is friendly and sincere.. I live in northern Michigan, and purchased from a north dealer once. The hidden costs were unbelievable. Hodges Subaru is well worth a 350 mile drive for an honest deal.

Great overall experience at Hodges Subaru where I recently purchased my first new car. As a young woman and first-time buyer I was a bit uncomfortable going into this process, only to be pleasantly surprised at how accommodating and not at all intimidating my experience was at Hodges Subaru. Lindsey Rank is a personable, approachable, and knowledgable salesperson who was a pleasure to work with. I arrived late for my test drive on Saturday (they close at 3pm) and she stayed late so I could test drive a few vehicles. She made herself readily available by email, which was great for my busy work schedule. Making such a large purchase can be stressful, but Lindsey kept it fun and enjoyable. I would recommend Hodges Subaru to anyone in the market for a Subaru! And by the way, I love my new Outback!

I have worked in automotive for 40+ years, from being a technician to an executive at OEMs, and dealing with the team at Hodges is by far the best car purchase experience in my life -- straightforward, friendly, fair, no games. I shopped at Suburban and Glassman first because they happened to have cars I was interested in in-stock, but I was truly happy to give my business to Hodges. I called Lindsey at Hodges on a Friday at 5:45 (they close at 6) because it was brought to my attention that they had a 6-speed 2013 Legacy in stock. I let her know I was interested in the car, and she got everything rolling...I was set to pick up my new car the following Monday. I was also able to make a service appointment for my WRX that coincided with picking up the Legacy...perfect!On Monday, Lindsey welcomed me and had most of the paperwork ready to go. I handed the WRX over to service, Jeff was very friendly and eager to get working on the recalls on the car. I took the Legacy for a quick test drive to make sure it would be to my liking, which it was. While the finance paperwork was being written up, Lindsey reviewed key points in the owners manual and features of the Legacy with me. All that was left was signing and driving away! Hodges made it so simple and pleasant to get into my first brand-spankin' new car. There was nothing "sales"-y about the experience; no pressure, nothing cheesy, no surprises.On Tuesday or Wednesday (I forget!), the WRX was ready. Picking it up was a breeze; I signed the invoice, they gave me a run-down of what was fixed/tested, and walked me to my car. They had even washed it(!), which I really appreciated because it was filthy, and hey, it's cold outside in January, I don't want to wash my car.I see myself as a devoted Subaru customer, I'm glad to have a trustworthy, friendly dealership so close to home!

I leased an Imprezza for my girlfriend. I wanted a specific color and package. I went online thru the six closest dealers in detriot ann arbor lansing and grand blanc and Danielle Isabell search far and wide and found what I wanted in Ohio and got it in for me. I recommend her if you have a specific requirement. I love the symetrical all wheel drive and the car is great. I may switch to a Forrester once the CVT option is available for a little more height but The car runs well.

Hodges Subaru made buying a car fun! During the test drives of three different models, Mr. Garcia explained the different features of each car, including the pros and cons. To me that was priceless. When I picked up my new car, Mr. Garcia walked me through every aspect and feature of the car. He made sure when I drove out of the dealership I understood how my car worked. Again, priceless. Outstanding dealership. Outstanding customer service. Outstanding all around.

I have the previous reviewer beat. I was there 3 times for the same problem. Spent $1200. to fix and air conditioner and it still does not work. Recommend them? Never!

First class experience, the car was delivered in perfect condition. I selected this dealership to purchase a new car as a direct result of the treatment my son received on the purchase of a used Subaru. With the current Costco program, the price was very attractive, and my trade was fairly priced. I am very pleased with the car, and this dealership.

Since ,92, several cars, honest frank customers advocacy for repairs. Sales staff are accommodating with a fair price structure. Mechanics leave little to be desired. When I can find the $ I hope to get a 2012 Impreza for the much improved mileage. And to the minority you are right noone the fronting it off, just genuine

This Dealership is far the worse I have ever experience . They are ruled to minority customer and very dry and unfriendly . John especially . I will never do business nor buy another vehicle there. As customer I don't care what I'm buying weather a part or a vehicle I should get a lease a service with a smile. The Service Mangers need to step it up and make sure this attuide and disposition doesn't happen its bad business for them.

Greg Kracht from Hodges Subaru helped me out with a recently purchased Used Subaru Forester. He was amazing!!! I had recently lost my job and was in dire need of a car to keep me going for job hunts. Wihtout his help, I would have been lost. They were very flexible and for what other places had claimed to take a week - they got it done in a day. These guys are great at their work and most of all have a heart that is hard to find amongst auto sales/service folks.

I had never really wanted a Subaru but three friends had them (two Foresters and an Outback) and raved about them. So when I wanted a new winter car I did a deal with Hodges (almost entirely by e-mail). The whole process was painless, entirely friendly, and the final price surprised me -- pleasantly. The Forester was purchased as a second car but almost instantly became the first car. Hodges service has been flawless. And I have the feeling they know me and the car. (Certainly not the case at the Mercedes dealership -- even though I have been going there for a dozen years.) Would I buy another Subaru from Hodges? Absolutely. The trouble is, even after 60,000 miles, the Forester is still in such in excellent condition. A brilliant car; an amazing small, caring, neighborhood dealership.

Bought my 2002 Outback from them new, been going back for service ever since. Hodges is a superb Subaru-only dealership. When it comes to customer service, whether on the Sale or Service side of the equation, they quite simply "get it." They have the feel of a small neighborhood business (which they are) and not an impersonal mega-dealer. They make me want to buy another Subaru even if the vehicle itself does not end up at the top my list.
