Previously purchased a car from them and had a great experience. This time? Not so much. First, I called and was told upon running my information that I was APPROVED for $20k, no money down. Now, because I've had some bad experiences with car dealerships previously, I tried to confirm preapproval or APPROVAL?? I was told that I was approved. So I send in all my paperwork and verified whether it was confirmed. I was told it was. I get a phone call a few days later asking if I was able to send in the information prior to my appointment?? I ask what paperwork, since I had already sent everything in. Apparently, one person received it and a completely different person had no idea. I go in for my appointment, wait for 3 hours and I'm told my license was suspended. I leave and immediately get my license issue corrected, called back to advise them that it was done and rescheduled for the following saturday. Now, I'd asked that they verify all the necessary information prior to my new appointment as I didn't want to make an unnecessary trip again. For the next 3 days, instead of receiving calls as I had asked, I had to do all the work. Asked if my license was verified as being valid (which I, myself was able to do) I was first told no, they weren't able to reach anyone at the secretary of state's office.now I found that odd, since I was able to do so (despite long hold times).at this point I'm told no one had actually called because they were too busy, but assured me it would be done before my appointment. I had to continuously call to verify whether they had done this and kept being told it was busy, call volume was high, etc. Called the day before my appointment and one of the girls tells me that it was still showing as invalid through the automated system, I had to keep explaining that it needed to be through a live person as I had an issue with the automated system as well. Finally, another young lady says in the background "let her know I verified it. I was on hold for like 40 minutes" ok fine. So I ask, as I had continuously done during previous conversations if there was ANYTHING else needed before I make another trip. Once again, I'm told no, the bank has already given the approval, all I need to do is come in and sign my paperwork. So I leave work early saturday, and come in and wait for another 2 1/2 hours. I even stepped into Kevin's office once he was done with one customer to ask if they were waiting on anything? I'm told no, they're just busy.now in the meantime, they had asked a question on whether i had another checkstub as the ones that I had provided didn't show a full time employment status. I explain that I've been out a few days over the past few weeks as my mom was ill, but provided another pay stub anyway & my offer letter indicating my monthly pay. So, about 45 minutes before they close, Kevin sends one of his assistants in to tell me they need ANOTHER checkstub & they can't do anything for me at the moment. she then explains that hes TRYING to get me approved, but right now I need a $1k downpayment. how did we go from a no money down approval to a $1k downpayment once I'm there. So I tell her, this is the 2nd time I've come in after doing ALL the legwork & asking multiple times what else was needed. So I asked to speak directly with Kevin...so once he's done he comes in and I let him know I'm upset... I'm told "you can be as pissed as you want, we still need another checkstub" so at this point, I'm MORE upset because Kevin himself had told me that everything else was done, as of our last appointment. he tells me "well maybe I made a mistake but we need another checkstub" so I ask WHY didn't someone tell me, & I would've waited until I had gotten my newest check and waited until then to come in.Kevin: we need a full time checkstub.me:Ok,WHY did everyone tell me everything else was done if thats the case?Kevin: *slaps desk* we need a full time checkstub, bring me that and we can get it done.Me: ok, when I bring THAT in, it will just be another issue.Kevin: *slaps desk* I need a full time checkstub. now at this point, I'm upset because as opposed to addressing the errors that were clearly made, he decided to continue being condescending. Then tells me "you can lower your voice, or I'm NOT selling you a car" oh really? after YOU made the errors that caused me to be upset in the first place. So I continue asking, why wasn't I told this prior. At which point he tells me, he's done and he's not selling me a car. So I say FINE!!! I ended up speaking with the manager Morry, who listened to my concerns, however, I'm sure it ultimately fell on deaf ears because its one person and Kevin is part of his staff. He told me that he would wait until Kevin calms down and would see if he wants to do business then. I declined and asked how fairly I'd be treated at that point and I let him know I'm not going to beg anyone to take my business. 1 sale may not mean much, but word of poor customer service travels.

I visited this dealership with the hopes that I would be driving on in a new car. From a sales perspective both Fred and Jim were helpful in answering questions etc. When it came to negotiations and dealing with the manager Maury, it was a whole other experience. I experienced Maury as being condescending and rude. I am unsure why he only referred to be as "sweetheart" after asking him to call me by first name. I walked away not purchasing a car. I was called a few days later, which happened to be a new month, and was told there were new incentives to offset the price of the car. I asked if these would be taken off the price already quoted from when I visited. I was told, seeing as these were new for the month of Aug, then yes it would be money off the quoted price. Again once dealing with Maury he went on to tell me he already took these incentives off. When I questioned him and said I was told these were new incentives for this month, he was unable to give me an answer other than "the price is what it is, sweetheart". In buying a car I don't want someone to be slippery with numbers, I want honest and direct answers. Its unfortunate, seeing as family members have purchased cars here in the past. I am sure never to return and I know after sharing my experiences my family members may not either. Luckily I found a great Buick, GMC dealership and was able to drive home in my new 2016 Buick Envision, that I love!

So far, they all have been positive experiences, from sales to service. The last was to repair a broken headlight - while the replacement cost rather staggering it was not their fault but mine that it had to be done. Part was delivered next day as promised and replaced at scheduled appointment time.

I came into the dealership service department to make an appointment for work to be done on a break from work. The service rep said the technicians could take a look at my vehicle right away. The work that was required to be done would take far greater than the time I had before I had to return to work. I stop by there today after work just to turn in my black jack game card which, was delivered to my home address by mail. According to this game card if you beat the dealers hand you win a prize but, if you get black jack you when two prizes. Well I did get black jack and you wouldn't believe the prizes they tried to give me...i only have this to say people don't waste your time with this. It isn't worth burning your gas for unless you just want a good laugh. They also had the nerve to ask me if I would want to trade in my vehicle...so you see it's a gimmick, a salesman con to get you their and try to sale you into buying a vehicle. I gotta admit it's a good one just not good enough to fool me.Be careful people it seems these dealers will stoop to anything.

Howard Buick GMC is a wonderful place. I have been dealing with the company for a long time. When I need my car looked over for oil changes or any other service I may need, Rich Tremmel is my go to person. He advises me on what needs to be done, or let me know that everything is great. The quality of repairs is done well. Everyone there is on the ball all the time. All the people in the service dept. are really good, and Rich Tremmel is a Super Person and very easy to talk with, he knows his GM products. That is why I travel from Downers Grove to Elmhurst to have my car serviced.

Our experience at your dealership was by far the Most Awesome car buying experience we have ever had. There was NO pressure, no anxiety, it was so laid back like we were hanging out with friends. The exact vehicle we were looking for happened to be there with all of the extras we were hoping for. Then Al spent at least 30 minutes with us explaining ALL the buttons and their functions...helped us set up the OnStar too. Everyone was incredible, LOVED Jeff in Finance. Jeff in finance was very abrasive in a follow-up call. Made my experience with him extremely unpleasant and would not advise anyone to,deal with him as he lacks people skills. Its a wonder how he is still employed at the dealership today. He needs to be replaced.

We wished our sales person had more knowledge on a lot of the questions we had; but we took in consideration that she might be new. We all start somewhere. But, she was really nice and friendly. Our research online on the vehicle we bought made it easier to know what we wanred. We loved the manager Tim for finding the vehicle we wanted and got it fast. Also we wished we got back our recent bought city stickers on the two vehicles we traded in. Chicago City Clerk requires actual stickers for a refund or transfer. According to them dealers know of this.

My visit to Howard was superb. I went in with a narrow focus on the truck I wanted and the price I was willing to pay. Harry Sonn, the salesman, was awesome along the entire way. He was extremely knowledgeable about the truck, the buying process, the financing process, and really easy to talk with. I came in to have a nail removed from my tire, the rims looked at for cosmetic scratches and have them removed, and get an oil change.Also, I received a letter from Howard that my "wax" protectant coating was due for it's "reapplication". Part of the service and product I purchased with the vehicle. However, I don't think that it was applied as my car had clearly not been washed well and the coating didn't appear to have the smooth feel that is normally does after application.Unfortunately, my service rep had left for the day and we were unable to confirm that it had been done.

Todd took a difficult situation and made it a positive customer experience. The battery died on our 2008 Yukon. Initially I was frustrated because I wished that on our visit in Feb for the last service that we would have been told to buy a new battery (because we would have in a heartbeat)...Todd arranged for us to get a ride home and figured out a way to get the battery changed, the brake pads / rotors changed, and the oil changed on the same busy Saturday. My only feedback as a customer would be to put the suggestion of changing a battery on a schedule like you do transmission fluid or rotating tires every 2-3 years or something like that. This way if a customer declines to have it done and their car dies then you have a history of offering the service despite a battery showing on your report that it still holds charge. Not to mention it may be a great source of revenue for you while the customers are there already getting normal service done.

The brake service and alignment seem to be good. I appreciate the loaner vehicle while my truck is in for repair. The truck was sent out to be detailed and it was by far the worst detailing I have ever seen. The chrome wheels were untouched as was the engine compartment. It appeared section of the truck were not even wiped down after it was washed. At $126.33 it was definitely not worth it.

You'll see another review posted by me below, which is actually taken from a survey I filled out before I had even finished the buying process and was posted without my knowledge. We went to Howard Buick because we saw a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring on cars.com. We were met by Maurice, a sales associate, who was great to work with. He was never pushy and was straight forward and easy to work with. We decided to buy the car. That is when our positive experience ended. When we got to the financing stage of the process, we were met with a much higher interest rate than I expected given my credit rating, when I questioned it, it turned out, hey, what do you know, there were a couple of other loan offers with lower interest rates that he failed to mention. The car was relatively new on the lot, so it needed to be cleaned and detailed before we picked it up. When we came back to get it the following evening, while some cleaning had been done, there was still a huge glob of melted chocolate in a cup holder and many other little spots here and there that should have easily been cleaned. We were told we would have to wait as long as an hour for that cleaning to be finished, so we left and did the cleaning ourselves at home. I expressed all of these frustrations to the dealership in an email, and even then they still had the gall to post a perfect five star review from me below.

This dealership was 1 of 3 that replied to my request for quotes via cars.com. they were open and honest via email on their inventory, car styles and options. even went so far as to scan items from the spec sheets so that I could see exactly what was available. I found out later that i was dealing with a member of the owners family so it gave me a better feeling that i was working with people who cared about the overall quality of experience, not just trying to get me in the door.

I had the best experience ever from Howard Buick GMC! I have been buying cars for over forty years and I can honestly say that the salesperson Mark Howard took the time to show me around the entire dealership and made me feel like I was an employee rather than a customer. Mark had me test several automobiles until we found the right one. The dealership even offered to wax my car twice a year for three years, what a great deal.

Rich was pleasant and worked hard to make sure I was taken care of. This was my first visit as my Chevy impala died out at the corner of grand and church in Elmhurst at 6:30 at night. I was shocked to find a dealer or any repair facility still open and ready to help. It turned out it was just a broken fan belt and I was on my way within an hour at a reasonable price. I actually "shopped" the price the next day and found Howard to be cheaper than the Mobil station I HAD been using. All my business will go to Howard their open til 9 during the week and even open Saturday's! THANKS Rich and thanks Howard!

I bought a new LaCrosse from Howard Buick at the end of December and could not have been happier with the process. I competitive bid online and got honest, straight forward information not to mention a great price. The preliminary exchange of e-mails lent itself to the wonderful experience at the dealership. It was a no surprises, straight forward purchase with both sides happy with the deal. From the moment we walked in and had our first conversation with the sales manager we felt welcome and at ease. Our salesman was great. He gave us the keys for a test drive and walked us through the deal and the preliminary paperwork and made sure that everything was as we had discussed and to our satisfaction on the trade in value. Then the business manager got us through a pile of forms in a minimum amount of time and saved us some additional cash in the process. We were in and out in a bit over two hours, which included prepping the car for our departure. Perhaps the best car buying experience we've ever had.

Will never return to this shop for service. Paid $1200.00 for repairs. Drove 2 miles and had the same issue. picked up my van 6 hours later and now there's a new issue related to what "was fixed" When i had brought this to the service "Consultant Rich" he stated to me that he would be happy to look into issue, BUT there would be an additional charge. Not only will I never bring my vehicle back; I will have all my company vehicles go to a HONEST Dealer. I highly recommend Hoskins in Elk Grove Village.

This last visit was to have some minor body work to my wife's vehicle. We also had some service work performed and then there was the complete detail job. Last, but not least, when I pick my vehicle up it's always delivered near the door and is always washed.This complete experience is the reason I ALWAYS PURCHASE and SERVICE my vehicles with Howard Buick GMC.
