The salesperson talked to me. He answered my questions. If he needed to consult with a manager he did so in order to give me a correct answer such as with the zero financing. He spoke English well. He took the sale seriously. He was friendly. Across the street at Honda Dealer it was the complete opposite. Subaru sold a Car and Honda did not. It was a toss up for me between the legacy or the Honda Accord. I am so far happy with the legacy. Financially I could afford to buy whatever car I want.

Honestly the best experience I've had and this is my sixth Subaru that I've leased. Managers Daniel and John made sure I understood what to expect and definitely wanted me to be happy with the process and I was. Best of all was Mike who was my super sales person. He explained everything from soup to nuts and all he wanted was for me to get a good deal and be happy. And to top it off when the deal was made he showed me everything about the car. This will be my first review to anything ever! I'm only doing this because of Sam Chorny's supurb customer service. I went to hicksville subaru before I came to island subaru which my friend Ania recommened. The hicksville locations atmosphere was not as welcoming as island subaru amd the sales person there seems like he didnt want to sell me a car. So my friend ania told me about the guy (Sam) that sold her new 2016. She said he will help me and that he is very good. She wasn't lying. Sam was personable. He felt like a friend that wants you to drive away happy and not a saleman that will drain you just to sell a car. Sam is knowlegable and proactive. My island subaru car buying experience was very memorable because of Sam. Im also happy because i know my honda 03 that i trade in is in good hands. I will bring in more hikers in island subaru because of him. I will remember sam till the day I retire my subaru. Heck, i will remember sam forever. Purchasing or even leasing a car is an unique experience. Obtaining a Subaru was the last thing on my mind. I fact I didn't even want to visit the dealership! After visiting several dealerships on the island, i figured oh well I'm here so I might as well stop in and see what Subaru has to offer (since I was here anyway and their lights was still on and people were still inside). So I went in. My sales man name is Jody Joseph an amazing guy. I mean this guy has so much patience. I am sure that I plucked and tried every nerve. He never flinched, sigh, or say lady won't you come back on Monday, like the other dealerships salesman said. What I liked the most about this dealership is that my sales man never stop trying to find the right vehicle for me--that includes the price that I wanted. Even at 10:00 pm after I went through every car in the facility--new, used. Jody never displayed fatigued or gave up. He acted as if I had just walked through the door-- 2 hours later at 10:00 pm on a Saturday night. Who does that? Jody is a True, professional salesman and he is on his "A" game. I am 100% satisfied with the service, my newly acquired vehicle, and the price, (and the safety facts about Subarus). The Subarus are vehicles worth taking a look at before you make a decision to go with another auto manufacturer. Island Subaru is the dealership I highly recommend you visit. All the sale people are great and very warm/ friendly. One last experience I want to mention- a young couple were sitting the showroom-the wife about 30 and the husband about 35 years old. They are getting the outback 2017. I have the outback 2016. The husband asked me, did you expect to get a Subaru when you walked in here? I answered no they both said laughing neither did we. We all laughed together and shared our Subaru expeience and vehicle style safety features and the great prices / values. If this review is too long then you have my permission to edit accordingly

On May 24, 2016, I went to Island Subaru to see a 2013 Subaru Forester advertised on their website for $18,900, certified used. After I agreed to buy the car, I was told there was a certified used fee over and above the price of the car. So I paid $20,775 for the car. Island Subaru said they had to drive it 50 miles before they could inspect it. So it was delivered to my house the next day. When it arrived the next day, it had one key. I was entitled to 2 keys for certified used. Not knowing I was entitled to 2 keys, I paid to have a second key made at the Subaru dealer in Bay Ridge which is much closer to me . Island Subaru will not reimburse me for the second key. A few days after we got the car, we realized the bracket that holds the battery in place was cracked and the battery was rattling around. The USB port also wasn't working, which I specifically asked about before agreeing to buy the car. Last week, the brake light started to come on so I took it back to Bay Ridge Subaru and was told there was no oil or brake fluid in the car. An open recall had also not been performed before the car was sold to me. I specifically paid the extra money for a certified used car so I would not have these problems. This dealer has shady business practices! A certified used car should not have been sold with no oil or brake fluid! I was not given what I paid for! Is this the reputation you want for Subaru? In just over a month, I have been back to service 3 times. When I tried to call Island Subaru about this issue, the phone just rang and rang. I called on different times and different days, during their posted business hours. On one occasion, I got a person who took a message and said "I'll check into this and call back tomorrow, I never heard from her again. Two other times, they transferred me to my salesman, and the phone just rang and rang. I was never able to get a manager on the phone. I finally asked the Island Subaru online chat window for the manager's number. They said they didn't have the number, and asked for my number. I gave it. The manager never called me, but I got texts and emails trying to sell me a car! I finally got Greg Kemp on the phone. He has been no help at all. He did not seem to care at all that I was not given what I was promised and what I paid for. I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Island Subaru. I have spent needless hours taking care of problems that I should never have had. This dealer is disreputable.

I bought my new Forester at Island. I had the pleasure of dealing with John Espinoza and the sales manger Greg Kemp. Take that old notion of a car salesman and throw it out the window. They couldn't do enough for me. They called, texted and even emailed me to make sure i was happy with my purchase. My Forester had to be ordered and they kept me posted every step of the way. When i picked up my vehicle John was off and Sam Chyorny filled in for him, so now i delt with three members of Island Subaru's staff and they were outstanding! I just got a 2016 forester xt from the guys at Island Subaru. This was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a car dealership. From start to finish they went out of their way to make sure i was happy with every aspect of the purchase. It was refreshing to have a car buying experience that made me feel like i was actually an appreciated customer, and to find a dealership that went above and beyond to find me exactly what i was looking for. I went to this dealership based on a Consumer Reports and Costco Member referral program. I stayed with this dealership to make the purchase because Dennis was pleasant , not pushy, calm, caring of my needs, and overall a pleasant, nice person who presented a fair, accurate price with no errors or repetitive price changes/increases throughout the process as other dealer I went to previously for a different vehicle. He conducted himself and the procedure in accordance with the outline I read on Consumer Reports, therefore I trusted him, and moved immediately to a purchase upon my first visit. I feel he really wanted me to have a car that met my needs and gave me a price within the Consumer Reports acceptable range, so within a week I went home with my car from our first visit. He also made sure I got the interior/exterior color I wanted, and didn't push something that was just there to move it out which made me trust him further (this procedure at another dealer made me just leave for the color is important to me for I buy a car every 13 to 19 years and want to like it). A true gentlemen got the job done painlessly, and diminished my initial anxiety and fear of the process. Bless you, Dennis!

Having tested the legacy and forester at another dealer we went to island subaru in hopes of getting a deal closer to OUR budget then any other dealer could. I decided to reward myself for being a best mom for my dogs by getting for us the new wheels. I walked in to the dealership to see if i can trade in my 3 years old subaru and sure enough i walked out with the keys to my NEW SUBARU FORESTER. I worked with Sam Chyorny and I was absolutely beyond pleased! Sam was attentive and absolutely did not pressure my into buying anything. He made me feel beyond comfortable and answered all my questions with immense knowledge.He worked with my payments and was able to help me afford a car I almost instantly fell in love with. He took the test drive with me, and made sure he focused all of his attention on me and my questions (in which there were plenty) and I never felt as if I was bothering him. I leased the car on the spot with him that day, despite not having intentions on it at first. I got the internet quote for the car I was interested in and set up a test drive; Dennis met me at the door and worked with me to get the car from the off-site location; he took the test drive with me; and worked out the details with the financing. We are long time Subaru buyers so we came in with our internet/Consumer reports quote knowing what car we were looking for, and overall had a very good experience. Our salesman was new at this dealership but was very good and answered every question, but was also smart enough to admit when we asked a question that he wasn't sure of the answer. There was no pressure, which I found a very pleasant surprise. The only negative in the whole thing was the wait time for a test drive, (the lot in back is VERY small and combines both dealer cars and parking), and initially getting a salesman, (it appeared that there were many more interested customers than salespeople to accommodate them). However, all in all, we were very happy with the experience.

First time visiting the dealership there was a "problem". It was on me. The car that I really wanted is just "too much of a car" according to one of the bank that helps them finance the car. So, Luis Nieves, tried everything and even tried to get me another model. I told him, I really appreciate what they did to "work" things out, but I wanted that "CAR". He smiled, we shook hands and said our Goodbyes. unbeknownst to me, he was calling me from the home phone number that I gave him, unfortunately that day, I did not go straight home and I forgot to give him my Cellphone number. He called the house, Voicemail was in trouble... He followed up again the next day, My wife told me that Luis is calling me. I was at work, can't really use phone where I work. (I know, Right?) Good thing I took one of the business cards on his desk and texted him. To make this Story Short, the Next Day, I got all the things that I needed to get THE CAR. Drove to the dealership, got the odds and ins done. Oh before that, Luis actually got the car ready, cleaned and inspected. I got the car in 2 hours. Probably much faster if I had polished things up with my insurance policy beforehand. Luis Nieves is the Man! and Island Subaru is the place to go to if you want to get the car that you want! THEY WILL HELP YOU, just help them HELP YOU.

Late Friday afternoon Feb., 26, I spoke to Luis Nieves and inquired about a 2016 Subaru 2.5i Limited and whether it was available. He stated yes it is available and I wanted a price. I told him I was coming from Long Island and he said he would check. He gave me a very good price. I asked him about financing, license plates and insurance. To my amazement he said everything is done here and I can drive it home tomorrow after the paperwork is done We went over the price of the plates, etc. and what the down payment I will bring. I told him I will purchase the car. Luis said he will get the car pulled and have it for us in the morning. I had less than 20 minutes before my bank closed so I rushed over and got the Bank check. Then I informed Luis that I got the check and will see him Saturday morning. At about 0900 Luis called my house and I informed him we should be leaving within the hour. My wife, daughter and I arrived a few minutes before 1100 and pointed out the beaufiful Quartz Blue Pearl Limited outside. We sat down, asked if we wanted coffee or food and got acquainted. Then Luis suggested we go for a test drive in the new car. My wife and daughter went with Luis for the test drive. I hung around the showroom checking out the various cars in the showroom and meetand spoke to other customers. One customer asked me about the dealership and I gave him positive feedback and after his test drive he purchased a Venetian Red Crosstrek. Another customer asked me about the Forester and I gave him my opinion and mentioned that I was purchasing a Limited in Blue. Later another family asked me about the Forester that I purchased after it was all cleaned up and they remarked it was a beautiful color. I remarked that it drives very well and is very confortable. When Luis and my family returned, he started to get the paperwork for the insurance and the paperwork for the license plates and registration and of course the sale of the Forester itself showning us the deep discount that he told me on the phone. No gimmicks, no games, no pressure, no hassles. It was like being a family gathering. Anthony Klein came by to see if we needed any drinks or food. Marcus Rivera stopped by a few times to make sure everything was running smoothly. While the new auto was being prepped and inspected by the Service Department, Luis and my family sat there and conversed the time away. When the bank approval came in we signed the paperwork. Finally the plates and registration were put on and Luis spent a great deal of time explaining the workings of the Forester to my wife and daughter and hooking up their I-Phones. Many thanks to Luis for his cordial, down to earth professional demeanor and honesty and knowledge about Subarus especially since this is our first Subaru purchase and definitely coming back for more in the future. Also thanks to Marcus for pulling the car out for us and the finance department for getting us the low bank rate. This dealership is highly recommended for courtesy, knowledge, good discounts off MSRP, pleasant atmosphere, no games, no pressure, no runarounds. I had a 413 when I was 16 years old and purchased my first new car car at age 17 back in 1970. I purchased many brand new cars of all makes through the years and I find it rare to find a descent, honest, knowlegeable dealership like Island Subaru.

Late Friday Afternoon, I spoke on the phone to Luis N. regarding the price of 2016 Quartz Blue Pearl Subaru Forester Limited 2.5i. I told him I was coming from Long Island. He checked out if the vehicle was availale. Got back on the phone with me with the right price and we discussed Certified bank check for down payment, plates, insurance, financing and inspection and prep of the new vehicle. He assured me everything would be done right there and I can drive home the next morning on Saturday. Then I told him I The car would be prepped while we did the paperwork. With less than 20 minutes before my bank closed, I rushed there to pick up the bank check. I called Luis N. and he said the car would be pulled and he would await me Saturday morning. Saturday morning at 0900 he contacted me and stated he had athe car waiting for me. My wife, daughter and I walked in and Luis greeted us. We sat down got acquainted. Luis asked if we wanted to take the vehicle for a test drive , so my wife and daughter went. I stayed behind . When they returned we did the paperwork. No pressure, no games, no runarounds. Marcus R. and Anthony K. made sure everything was going smoothly and if we needed anything. Kudos to the owners for having caring and knowledgeable personnel available . My warmest thanks to Luis N. for allowing me to basicly purchase the car sight unseen on the phone and his expertise in explaining electronics and all the gadgets to my wife and daughter and hooking up their IPhones. Also many thanks to Marcus R. for putting this Blue Forester on the side for me. This is my first Subaru purchase and a very rewarding experience at Island Subaru. I purchased my first car in 1970 when I was 17 years old so it is refreshing to still experience a quality and honest dealership. I also expressed my experience to a few customers that I had met at this while I checked the other vehicles in the showroom and while waiting for the paperwork to be completed and they too purchased Subarus that afternoon.

This is the old Manfredi dealership under new management, and was much better, more friendly and the showroom looks better. I got a much better than expected price for my old Subaru from Marcus. Like most people, I have always been wary of buying a car directly from the dealer. However, I decided to give it a shot, and ended up working with CJ at Island Subaru. He was the exact opposite of what I expected to find: a really nice guy, not pushy, and he gave me time to drive the car and get a good feel for it (as opposed to a 3 minute drive). Ultimately, he's why I closed the deal. Oh, and their pricing was very competitive. Can't say that that hurt, either. In any event, I highly recommend these guys. Ask for CJ and you won't be disappointed.

We were ready to replace our 2003 Subaru and braced ourselves for a trip to mid state NY when I saw the posting for a 2012 Subaru outback right here on staten Island. I had dealt with the previous dealer and was not satisfied at all so I was on my guard. We went over to look and it was as good as we'd hoped. Our salesman helped us with details about prior ownership and later the finance manager reopened the case for a trade-in that made the disposal of the old car easier and saved us money. At the same time, I wanted a check with my own mechanic. He confirmed that the car was just as it had been advertised.

Matt Rios was a very competent sales person. He is honest and very accomodating. His manager Tony I felt was honest and work very hard to make the sale.I had decided several weeks ago to lease a Subaru Impreza basic model.I was directed to this dealership by Truecar.com. Initially I was contacted by email by a Danielle who quoted me a price of $169 monthly for a 36 month lease based on 10,000 miles per year and a downpayment of $1,799. She stated there would be an additional chharge for vehicle registration.I thought I had made an appointment with her forr today December 27. When I arrived I was grreeted by Matt. I told him I was looking for Danielle and he directed me to the next building. They inturn sent me back to Matt. This is when I began to feel that there may have been a bait and switch situation. Here are the reasons why. I was given the initial information on price etc. based on two 2016 Imprezas that were in stock. When I delt with Matt and then Tony the cars Danielle quoted didn't appear to be available. Another haze issue about Danielle was she wasn't quite surwe of the dealership's address. Actually I foud out that she was located in another building wup the road. Also she presented herself as a sales person.I had priced base model Imprezas at four other dealerships and each ranged in price from $218 per month to $238. Now Matt and Tony quoted me about the same. I waws firm on price and was told the $1799 existed but there was no way a $169 monthly payment could be reached. If Matt and Tony were aware that this was a bait and switch neither indicated. They did however find a 2015 premium Impreza that had several upgrades like alloy wheels, heated seats, dimming mirror and more thaat made the $1800 down ppayment and a $220 monthly more palitable.Matt proceeded to personally take the care to be detailed and gave a through delivery walk through of the vehicle. All in all my experience with Matt Rios and Tony was very good. The mysterious Danielle on the other hand has left me with a clouded impression of Island' Subaru's credibility.

I have never been to a car dealership that had a mission statement posted. Island Subaru has one. The mission statement recognizes not only the dealership's goal of providing excellent value for its customers, but also its dedication to providing "the best workplace environment for [its] team members." It also values service to the greater community. I was impressed by this.We had researched our preferred model on the Internet through USAA's TrueCar buying service. Mike Lopez was the first to respond to our internet search. Other dealers took days to get back to us. Although we ended up buying a lesser trim package than the one we had researched, Island Subaru worked to provide us the best value within the TrueCar system. The sales people drive Subarus, and were honest in their assessment of the features they feel work best. Everyone is very friendly, and this dealership is very friendly to military families. Our sales representative, Sal Mazella, was knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. Our experience in buying our car was as good as it gets.

This is first car that I am buying by myself.I went to two different dealership before, there was so much nonsense talk and waste of time, either the price the quote is way higher than the average or they try to add a bunch of stuff in to increase the cost. I went to Island Sabaru, first thing I notices is that everyone is working, they are constantly doing something or helping a customer not like other dealership you have couple of guys sitting there chit chatting the whole time. I was greeted and waited my turn with a sale rep Danny (Daniel Sinnona). I said what car I wanted, he went and get that car for me from the warehouse for me to check it. I liked we sat down we have no problem with the price way lower than the other price. Quick and easy. Actually I can't say quick, and I felt sorry for Danny I asked so much question that I became the last customer inside the dealership. But he was very patient with me. Paid for the car and picked up the next day. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I would highly recommend this Dealership to anyone. Island Subaru went out of their way to make my wife and I and eventually my family feel right at home. We worked with Daniel Sinnona and he was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable and was very patient with us. When it came time to talk about numbers (usually the bad part), he made sure that we did not have "meet with the manager" to get a better deal. Finally the day we went to pick up the car, Dan and the team there literally treated us like family. Dan and team entertained our girls while we were waiting. They put up with my kids as they ran around the show room. Dan even went the extra mile to help us get what we highly coveted as "the picture with the big red bow". Overall the experience was excellent!! We did not feel any pressure and the whole team was casual which made us feel right at home.

My experience was very nice and pleasant. I was looking for outback long time, months, negotiated with multiple dealers, I am very picky. I did a lot of online search before I went to buy anything. I had already factory order with another, then their offer via TrueCar beat that in a big way, so I decided to go with them since another dealer which was ok but wasn't completely straightforward with the price negotiation. Dan was my first contact and seller, Mike was doing finance, they were very helpful and made it quick. So my choice was to go again with factory order or get the one they had coming which was the model and colors that I wanted but, extra options I really did not need. Even tough the cap cost was obviously way higher I did not care since the car was leased and I got same offer as for base model I wanted. So at the end I ended paying same about the same amount for a lease like with another dealer plus basically free $5k insurance at the end of a lease. Good deal, no unnecessary bs.

Matt and Marcus were very helpful with my purchase. I went looking for either an Impreza or a Legacy. Even though the Legacy is more money they did not in any way push me towards buying that car. After sitting in both in the showroom, both my wife and I preferred the Impreza. They had the trim line I wanted but not the color, telling me that one had sold a couple of days prior. However they notified me that they had one at their other lot and wold get it to their dealership the next day. I couldn't make it back until a few days later but they assured me they would hold it for me. After my wife and I test drove it, we purchased it several days later. It was a very pleasurable, non-pressurized sale and the negotiations were done civilly and fairly. I recommend this dealership to anyone and have done so already to two prospective buyers.

I did my homework and shopped the 5 midsized SUV's I was considering. My treatment varied rrom dealership to dealership. The pricing on similar cars or even the exact vehicle varied by as much a $150 more per month. I got the car I wanted and am very happy with the price we worked out. Beyond happy that it's finally home with me. They recently took over another dealership that sold off its dealerships. The Legacy stock was low, almost non-existent. Took longer than expected to get my vehicle in. Everyone was nice, polite, helpful in person. In the end the only thing I would have liked more of was calls from the dealership to me keeping me informed instead of me having to chase down information.

Purchasing an automobile at Island Subaru is truly a pleasure. Normally purchasing an automobile, and the word pleasure, are never in the same sentence. However, the team at this dealership is like no other I have ever encountered. Gone was the hard sell from the salesman. Quite the opposite from Matt Rios. He never pressured me when I told him I was just there to test drive and research the 2016 Outback .I ended up driving that car home that day. Matt's boss Michael Podell, was a pleasure also. He went out of his way to make this deal. Also missing was the inevitable picking your pocket attempt from the finance manager. You know the scenario, you agree on a number in the showroom.Then it changes in the finance room. Well not only did Jason Trotte not raise the number, he showed me how to bring it down! These guys are a delight to deal with. I highly recommend them, and I am pleased I went there.

Surely enough a friendly salesman offered me a few options and assured me that vehicle would be readily available should i choose to get it. There was no talk of a custom ordering or long extended period wait time. Sal, salesman, sat down with me to discuss some of the options available to lease a car, as that is what i had wanted. there was no pressure nor pushing the product on to me. Sales manager along with the salesmen were able to negotiate with me and allowed me achieve a goal i was very happy with. Price and product were beyond my satisfaction. I came here looking to lease a WRX, fully expecting the usual hassle and Staten Island dealership experience. The experience I got, on the other hand, was wonderful. Anthony was very knowledgeable about the car, he treated me with respect, and there was absolutely no pressure. He was friendly and worked with me to get the deal I was looking for. The whole process was transparent, He took the time to answer all of my questions, and the few times I repeated a question he was always patient and always made sure I understood everything he was saying. The trade in process was actually easy, I didn't have to haggle to get top dollar for my trade, which was definetely unusual. Everyone I dealt with here was friendly, and there was no push to get the signature and move on. When everything was said and done, there was no push to get me out. Anthony didn't disappear to find a new customer, he stuck around and took the time to explain everything about the car. I got the feeling that he wasn't satisfied until I was. I reccomend them to anyone looking for a Subaru.

In my experience next to buying a house buying a car is the most stressful. My last 2 cars I have purchased the process was such a nightmare that it had me dreading having to do this all over again. My last 2 cars were a Nissan and a Honda. The dealer I decided to buy from baited me and switched the price and terms the day I went to close on the car leaving me to become angry and storming out of the dealership to deal with someone else. I walked into Island Subaru in Staten Island to only look at the truck my wife wanted. I never expected to do business because my bad past experiences were the dealers across the street and expected them to be the same owners. I spoke to Steve, my sales person and I found out that they were not affiliated. I told him my past stories and he assured me I would not have that experience there. Skeptically I told them that I am not a haggler and I would go to 3 Subaru dealers and who ever gave me the best price first would get my business. I told them what I was looking for and Steve came back with Marcus the store Manager and Jason the Finance Manager. I was shocked to hear their offer. It was a great lease price. Being the ultimate car consumer pessimist, I figured the bait and switch was put in motion. Despite the price I went to 2 other Subaru dealers the following day , one wouldn't even give me a price the other offer was $90 a month more. Once I told them I had a much better deal they stated "Well let me see what our best price can be". I stated you want to give me your best price now that you know I have a better deal somewhere else? Why wouldn't you give it to me first? Like I promised I don't haggle. I mean $90 more wasn't even in the ball park of what Island Subaru offered. I left and went back to Island Subaru. The difference in the price between them and the dealership in NJ was so different I figured there had to be a bait and switch coming. I was meet by the same team as the day before. Steve, Jason and Marcus started the process and when it was done I couldn't believe it. Everything they said and promised was perfect. NO BAIT AND SWITCH! Great honest guys. The day I went to pick up my car I ran into another customer who I was talking to. He was telling me he didn't expect to buy his car today but they gave him a deal he couldn't turn down and he was also complimentary on the honesty and the best price up front. All car buyers need to do business like this. Treating the customers right only leads to referrals and more sales. Thank you Island Subaru and thank you Steve, Jason and Marcus for the stress free buy. I already have my brother coming to you when his lease is up in December and I will keep the referrals coming.

I dealt with Sal Mazella and he was extremely easy to work with. He was honest from the start and not pushy by any means. He got me a great price on the vehicle I wanted, and was helpful in explaining all of the paperwork. Jason Trotte, the finance manager, was also extremely helpful in explaining the cost breakdown and the various finance options that were available. There were no hidden costs and they did not play any games. I never felt pressured to buy a car from them. They provided me with information and were patient until I made my choice. My experience at Island Subaru was excellent. This is the fourth time I've leased a car and this was my quickest experience by far! All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our salesman, Anthony was professional, courteous, and helpful, facilitating the process so we didn't spend the entire day at the dealership. We love our Subaru and will be back to island Subaru and the end of our lease!
