I was helped right away, I can't remember the service mangers name who helped me, I hope you can get his name by the day I was there. He took me right away and came and got me to show what was done on my car. He was friendly and professional. I will always go to my dealer for any repairs.

I recently went to Island Volkswagen to shop for a car for my son who is going away to college out of state. I wanted something gas efficient and safe as he is a student and a new driver. I was shopping around for a new vehicle seeing that my lease will be up soon on my previous vehicle. I found my experience at this dealership to be one of the greatest I have encountered. Upon entering I was greeted by two fantastic sales representatives, Maria and Al who treated me like gold. They both were very professional and very knowledgeable about the vehicles in the dealership. Maria was such a great woman who knew off hand every detail from make and model to finances of a vehicle. Al was fantastic with every question I inquired about regarding technology based details on a vehicle. At first i was skeptical but when he presented the numbers i couldnt believe it but he got me in a better Passat for LESS than what i was paying! Came here to see Al, I was originally just returning my leased 13 Passat but he presented the new Passat to me and I fell in love, then when he came back and got me into a better car at a lower payment I couldn't refuse! Needless to say I left with the car that day with no problem.

My experience at Island Volkswagon on a whole was pleasant. They weren't pushy and did not try to sell me a car I cannot afford. Danielle Mantone, my Sales Consultant was very knowledgeable about all the models that Volkswagon had to offer. This was my first experience in 13 years buying a car and she made it very easy and pleasurable. Rodney Glenn, the sales Manager was also an absolute pleasure to deal with and I thank you both for your professionalism and making me feel very comfortable buying my first car in a long time. I did not expect to leave the dealer with a new car however Ingrid went above and beyond expectations where the failed tremendously If it wasn't for Ingrid's professionalism and instinct to identify the sale would close, I would have walked out. Do not bother dealing with the sales manager, as he's more concerned with commission than matching a driver with the right car at the right price. I highly highly recommend asking for her as she is focused on solutions, not obstacles.Not only that but she stuck to kindness and professionalism after the sale, helping anywhere she could and assisting the process along where she could not directly help. 6 stars for her and I will be going back to VW again and hoping to work with her in the future.

The dealership was extremely professional all the staff were helpful. They helped me get into a new car for a great rate. I brought my car in for service and was hesitant to go look at the new cars becuase it's usually a hassle with all my previous experiences, but despite my fear I went in and was instantly greeted by a young man named Al. He sat us down to find out what we wanted then got us a car ready to test drive right away. And it was perfect for us! Then once we fell in love with the car and began talking numbers he helped us and got us a great price for our Tiguan! We were in with the old car and out with the new one within a few hours. And he is still keeping in touch constantly to make sure everything is going great with the car. Best sales experience ever!

First off, I have to state that I am no stranger to Volkswagen. I've purchased two brand new cars in the past (2010 Jetta in 2010 and 2013 CC in 2013) I actually came in to the dealership to have my CC serviced. Rich in the service department was great with going the extra step to give me pricing opinions as well as very personable. While I was waiting for my car to be serviced I happened to step into the show room and I was immediately greeted very warmly by Ingrid. I told her that I was considering trading in my car because I wanted to lower my payments. I was possibly interested in a new Passat. Ingrid was determined to deliver what I wanted. There was a beautiful Passat that caught my eye in the showroom. Ingrid quickly got me into a Passat to test drive. I was impressed with the new features within the vehicle but more so of the knowledge that Ingrid had of the vehicle. She really took the time out to explain the features, ones that you wouldn't even think of. I told my fiancee to come to the dealership because I was really considering making a new purchase. He's a huge car fanatic and he has had two Volkswagens as well. Once he and Ingrid spoke their knowledge of cars, we began to talk numbers. I was really undecided but Ingrid really went above and beyond to get me into my new Passat. She was great. She took our picture with our new vehicle. Ingrid even waited for me to pull off the lot. I know this because I was under the pavilion and my satellite music wasn't working so I began to get out of the car. She was watching me through the door and came to me. I told her the satellite wasn't working. She stated it was because of the pavilion. We both got into the car and drove from out If it and the music worked. I thanked her again and again and gave her a hug. Two days later she even followed up with a phone call to see If I had any questions about the vehicle. I was extremely impressed with her service. If you will be shopping at this dealership ask for Ingrid. You won't regret it. I'm really glad I met her. The dedication that Ingrid has is unremarkable.

BEST Experience EVER buying a car! First off I was greeted by the General Manger Dean Palumbo, whom was very pleasant upon entering Island Volkswagen. The Sales Consultant, Miguel Reyes was extremely helpful, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. I didn't feel pressured or like he was just trying to just make a sale. Miguel answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with my new car before I drove away. He even surprised me with a text of pictures of my new car after it was cleaned and ready to go. I always had horrible experiences purchasing a car on Staten Island and always went to NJ but Miguel, as well as everyone else that worked there, were very helpful and friendly. When signing the final paperwork the Finance Manager, Mark Wildman made sure that he explained all the extra warranties and helped me pick out the package I was most comfortable with, without any added pressure. If your looking for a place to buy a car this is definitely the place to go! And I love my new Beetle Convertible (smile).

My experience with car dealership spans over 30 years and I always wonder why salespeople don't understand how much they could do to make a car buyer happy. Without a doub this new Island Volkswagen dealership and my saleswoman Ingrid Roosma made it so much fun I had to let everyone know. From walking in and meeting such a Volkswagen "enthusiast" is very unusual. She was quick to recognize my guarded demeanor and made me laugh when she said this is not a visit to the Dentist's office . I really hadn't planned to lease a Jetta GLI but a test drive with her was the best part and I couldn't be happier. I thought my lease numbers would be high but it was perfect for my budget..There wasn't any back and forth running to the different managers that always seems to happen. It was so easy . Once I put my deposit down she gave me money to go next door to a beautiful bakery and have a cafe latte while they prepped my car to drive home.. I love my GLI and would tell anyone looking to get a new Volkswagen to go see Ingrid. I made a new friend in a new friend on Staten island.

The Finance guy was a True Weasel & yes man.Told you what you wanted to hear then completely disregarded what was agreed. I was buying a used Jetta and it had a vracked windshield. I simply said I do not want this repaired I want it replaced.If that can't happen I do not want the car.I was told don't worry.Well that replacement never happened.Liars!Now my Passat is in for service and they can't get a sensor to replace the faulty 1. Very inconvenient to take a car in 2x and loose a 1/2 days pay for a part that should be in stock!To top it off the tire and Rim Insurance we have they have no desire to honor!

The 2 gentlemen with whom I spoke in connection with purchasing my GTI SE today were excellent in all respects; they had structured the purchase for me 1 week in advance, and helped me get all my paperwork done and insurance squared away IN ADVANCE, which made my stay at the showroom (which is pristine and impressive!) surprisingly short, effortless, easy and at no point in time did I feel as though I was being pressured or influenced or "swayed" in any one direction, for any add-ons, accessories or the like. Above all, a decidedly fair and reasonable in all respects location, managed and staffed by down to earth personable and approachable staff, all knowledgeable and all very cool. Best auto-purchase/dealer experience of my life, period.

This was my first time getting a car from a dealership. After shopping around for a few weeks, I have to say that my most pleasant experience was at Volkswagon. The salesman Al was by far the friendliest, most informed of any of the people I had to deal with while shopping around. Any question I had about the car, he knew off the top of his head, plus more. He was a little difficult to negotiate with, but that is just him doing his job. At the end of the day, I got the car I wanted, for about the price I wanted, and absolutely would recommend this dealership to anyone who asks.

I recently had a problem with dashboard lights and stopped by Open Road V.W. of Staten Island. I was immediately given prompt attention from Lydia who was courteous and made me feel like an appreciated customer. She reminded me I was due an oil change and she also saw that my car was due for inspection. She told me when the car would be ready and indeed was spot on as it was ready when I came back from a walk.I,ve dealt with V.W. service before and with Lydia and have always had a good experience. Lydia is top notch ,Service is excellent and both certainly have made an influence on my decision to lease another Passat when the present lease expires.

I have purchased 3 cars from Open Road Staten Island in the last 2 years. The sales department is awesome! They do their best to give you the best deal possible. I have been to the service department a few times. My engine light came on Sunday night. On Monday, I went to service without an appointment. They found the problem, (my gas cap was not sealed properly) ordered the part and took care of it. Steve the service writer could not have been nicer or more professional. He explained everything to me and checked in with me frequently to let me know what was going on.

I purchased 2 new vehicles within the last 6 months and can't say enough about the staff. The Sales department went out of their way taking the extra step to assisting us. We had both our cars within 3 days. The service department is extremely helpful and assisted me in helping understand my new cars. I took me cars in for the 3 month checkup and the staff couldn't be more courteous. All employees at Open Road Volkswagen of Staten Island treat you like a member of their family. I recently moved to VW from Toyota and bought a GTI (from a private seller). Car was great but I still needed to make sure it was the right decision I made. So I went to Open Road VW of SI. Hospitality of this place is second to none. I must say the Service Advisor Cris Wlsh is a wonderful person to meet. He managed clear my mind on the car I just purchased. Eric Thompson, the service manager at Volkswagen Staten Island was so professional. He treated me and my husband like we were family. The waiting area was so relaxing with a beautiful leather couch and fresh coffee for us while we waited for our car t o be fixed. Lydia explained that we needed an air filter and showed us how clogged it was and she was so helpful. Even the technician, Tony came out to explain when we would need to come back in the future for additional service. I would recommend this dealership to everyone I know.

The General Manager, Jimmy Demarco was very polite, courteous, and professional. I felt a warm family-friendly feeling while shopping for a new car. Had to replace my driver side mirror on my Jetta. Went to the dealership and spoke with Ben who was extremely helpful. He went out to my car with me and told me all the parts that needed to be replaced. Came back two days later and dealt with Eric and Chris in service and had my mirror installed on the car for me. Everyone I dealt with at the dealership was extremely helpful and courteous. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone.

I haven't purchased my vehicle yet, and I'm highly debating on whether or not I should just get my deposit back and go somewhere else. Although I am completely in love with the car I want to get, the "customer service" they have is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.I'm a college student on a budget, but I have excellent credit and a nice down payment available, or so I thought. I want to put X amount down, the salesperson told me that "Well we don't know how much you can put down". I asked him numerous times what my monthly payment would be if I put X down and he tells me "that's not my department, I don't know!". Never mind the fact that he was throwing numbers at me the day before.He's also pressuring me into buying the car. Telling me he has called Geico and to just bring in my plates and everything will be taken care of, meanwhile I haven't even purchased the vehicle. I keep telling him I won't buy it until I know if I can even afford the monthly payments. He disregards my concerns.I asked how much the bank is letting me put down. He disregards the question.I'm giving you $13k. Don't I deserve to know what the xxxx is going on?I'm thinking of just buying it if I can afford the payments. Because after I make the deal, I don't have to deal with this shiesty salesperson or dealership ever again.I'm NOT going to bring it there to get serviced. I already heard it's a rip off.

My experience at Open Road VW on Staten Island was excellent!! I do not understand these poor reviews. The people at the dealerships you visit have their own bills and expenses, you cannot expect to have everything handed to you at below cost. A car purchase is a negotiation, lets be real.I dealt with Jason who was nothing short of courteous and upfront regarding all aspects of the process. Straight, to the point and no BS you deal with at most dealerships. Tim, another sales manager was also very polite and accommodating.I ended up going home with a Certified Pre-owned 2010 Volkswagen CC and couldn't be happier!!

Stay away from this dealership. Nobody knows what the interest rate on a lease is.Tim the manager thinks he is working on the set of Pawn Star.No negotiation skills and the best is they want to sale you what they have in stock.salesman have no idea what the car has except for warranty lenght.go to NJ or Brooklyn better service and pricing.

Never go to this dealer, they are the biggest rippoff of any Volkswagen dealership in the country. They lied and conned me, about My VK Jetta, they told me it has features it doesn't. They ripped me off on my trade in...a bunch of con artists. If I could get my trade in back I would. That car had more features and more power than this piece of crap and they had the nerve to mock and made fun of me and the trade in. I can not wait to get rid of this car...if I had the money, I would pay if off, trade it in, whatever and go buy a much better car. I would never buy another Volkswagen again. This dealers and salespeople did not even call me after my purchase to see if I liked it or was happy.....they knew they suckered and ripped me off. But to lie to me and then after I sign the paperwork, they were not in the least helpful....this place and people have no class what so ever. The service staff is excellant though and very friendly. The rest of them, forget it. Do not use this place ever, they will rip you off.

My car was recently totaled during hurricane Sandy. I was working with VW credit and they advised to go back to my original dealer to see if they would do a substitution of collateral . Well Good luck with that!! I feel like I am chasing someone at this dealership to return my call. I just called the dealer 4 times and the receptionist either directed my call to the wrong person and then hung up twice. I have to say probably the worst experience you can have at a time like this. They were great when you get the car but good luck afterword's when it counts.

Trading in my 2009 Jetta lease, I went to see about the new Jetta. Don't really like the car but the people at Staten Island VW were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and honest. Rodney almost convinced me to get the Tiguan, without undue pressure, but alas it is really just out of my price range. Vincent also did his best to give us the very best deal he could. If the new Jetta was as great as my old one, or if the Tiguan was a bit of a better deal I would have gladly done business here.

Bought 2012 VW Tiguan on June 30th, buying experience was not bad. Everything went smooth and there weren't any surprises as far as I've noticed so far. 5 days later the air conditioning stopped working on the brand new car and called for appointment to get it in that Monday. Brought to dealer in the morning and by the end of the day they told me it should be fixed. At end of day the service guy Eric calls and says their AC machine to diagnose problem doesn't work. Ok no problem, the next day end of day calls me and tells me they need to order a part, hosing apparently. But cannot tell me how long it will take for me to get it so I said I need a car in the meantime and they bring me to enterprise rental in the worst car that they cover. So instead of leaving my car at the dealer where they park them in the street anyway, I would rather take my car back and I'll bring it back when part comes in. Ok, called the following week, still no news. Then finally once I called corporate they call me and I brought the car in to fix. End of day, they call me and tell me they need something else now and they don't know what it is and supposedly they called me as soon as they encountered the problem and would update me again. They didn't call back to update and my car is still at the service. Very unprofessional people. The service people have no idea what they're doing and can be better suited for the sales positions.

2008 Eos sold as "Pre-Certified" from Open Road in NYC is now showing cracked finish/bondo work. Suburban of Troy in MI has revealed that this car was in an accident and someone tried to cover it up. Bondo is cracking and now the parts are failing due to the impact. Open Road of Staten Island are thieves!! STAY AWAY!!

Timothy Camparato was so polite, and courteous, that my mother and I thought we were not in a new car dealership! He was terrific! He introduced us to the service manager Eric Tompson, and he was so very polite and nice too. We are definitely recommending the dealer and these pleasant people to our family here. On our way out, we got to meet the General Manager Leo, and he was so professional and sweet! What a great experience!

The manager Leo makes purchasing a car an enjoyable experience. He is very professional and honest. When you are ready to purchase the car he immediately begins to meet your needs in regards to the type of car you are looking for and a price that exceeds your expectations. The service is equally good. As soon as you enter the service department a service representative is there to greet you and begin helping you immediately. Jason Revere ensured that my car was fixed in a timely manner and I was completely satisfied. I will only purchase cars from this dealership.

Stay far away from this dealership Reasoning hidden costs an there are plenty.I will buy my next VW in New JerseyThey charge you for bank fees but I checked with the bank and there are no feesI left my car for repair, only to find it parked in the street late at nightplease stay far away

We bought a car from Open Road Volkswagen in Spring 2011 and discovered upon getting it back to Michigan that it had no floor mats. First Cody promised that they were "in the mail" (for months), and then, when Cody left the dealership, Leo took over the "they're in the mail" duties, now Larry is the clownmaster. Here it is Dec 15 and still, no mats. The interstate paperwork we initially did with this dealership was very shady too. Lots of subterfuge and blatant "un-truths" throughout the process. It was an extremely stressful, unpleasant experience. To top it off, it turns out that before we took ownership of it, somebody had cut into the shield on the car's undercarriage for some homestyle oil changes. The certified VW mechanic that revealed this to us back in Michigan stated that this kind of alteration had the potential to void the warranty on the "certified pre-owned" vehichle that Open Road sold us.I sincerely encourage you to take your business elsewhere. These folks are bad news.

My experience at Open Road Volkswagen was unbelievably great that once I got home I had to praise the dealership!! The employees are were so nice, professional and completely honest. I must say I never had such an easy time purchasing my first brand new car I thought that this process was going to like going to the dentist but I totally wrong.

I come from a background in the car industry and can only say good things about Volkswagen of Staten Island. My experience from beginning to end was smooth sailing and led to a purchase of the Volkswagen CC, a truly fun car to drive. I recommend this dealership to anyone who happens to be looking to purchase a Volkswagen. It is a shame that there are so few well run dealerships around anymore but Volkswagen of Staten Island definitely is part of the few greats that are left. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

never ever fix your car here. they always find ways to rip you of. Its never a quick fix with them always have to buy parts witch are 3 times the normal price. I will never go there again.

I left an old leased car in their care when I bought a new one with them. We signed off on all the damage the car had when I left it and exonerated myself should anything further happen to the car. They end up damaging the bumper upon returning it and now they refuse to pay for the damage.Manager very condescending, dismissive and rude.Avoid dealing with them!*UPDATE - After contacting the VP, the matter is settled.

Buyer beware. The general MGR at Open Road VW tried to sell me on the same old sales pitch that the car I was looking to purchase was very exclusive & not many of them were out there. I asked him to search local inventories & see what he could come up with. I never recieved a call back. That should have been my first warning, but I decided to call back anyway to see if they were able to locate the model I was looking for.I went online & got a quoted price $2K under MSRP from 3 different dealerships, and asked Lou at Open Road if he could match the price. He told me the price I was given was just a lowball bait offer, and that I would likely be hit me with all kinds of random hidden fees to make up the difference later while describing to me how that's not how he likes to do business. He even bet me $500 that the other dealerships would not honor the price they quoted me. I decided I'd go find out for myself anyway & ended up getting the exact price the other dealer quoted me with no extra fees thrown in. I signed the papers that day with 1.9% financing. Right away the sales consultant I was assigned even showed me a list of about 5 cars that were locally available in the exact options trim I wanted & told me he'd do his best to get the one for me in the color I was looking for. The next day he e-mailed me my new VIN, it was the exact color & trim pkg I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. I would advise anyone in the market for a new Volkswagen to think twice before doing business with Open Road. You can get a much better price at any number of dealerships along with much better customer service.
