Buying my Ford Fusion Titanium Energi was a breeze. Steve had directed me on what cars were available and we actually went over all the pricing information over the phone. I went to test drive the car at a diff location so once I knew I wanted to buy it, it was an easy purchase buying experience. Steve had all my paperwork ready and I was in/out in no time. Steve was great, helped me narrow the vehicle choices prior to my visit, very efficient...found the car w/features that I wanted. Purchase was seemless, however would have been nice if dealership had vehicle in sale ready condition. Car was dirty with chip on windhield, not Steve's fault. Husband insisted on taking car home same night before car could be washed....added inconvenience for buyer. Would be best if vehicles are kept in sale ready condition :)

He then followed up with two subsequent emails, giving me the photos & details about the vehicle, and then checking back with us. I did not get this service from any of the other dealers I contacted. Not from area, brothers ford truck broke down, had towed to nearest ford dealer. They wanted $1039 to replace fuel pump plus $150 for looking at it. $1189 to replace a fuel pump?Had it towed elsewhere, being repaired for $490Stay away unless you like being over charged, we would have done $800 to avoid wasting time and towing again but $1,189 is taking advantage just a tad. Wouldn't recomend to anyone.

They try to do a good job it seems. However repairs take days instead of hours. I've spoken to the GM a few times with little improvement in follow-through, technical competency and overall "gosh we are glad you chose to spend your time and money here". When cars go fully electric over the next decade places like this will disappear first since there are so many fewer moving parts to fail.

There is the appearance of disorganization and an overall lackadaisical energy in the service department. It is apparent that they have difficulty recruiting and retaining quality staff at this particular location. They are hoping people are too lazy and uninformed to go to the effort of taking their Ford vehicle a greater distance to someone better in a much more competitive environment. While Half Moon Bay may be a great place for strictly tourist-oriented activities, it is a total ripoff as a business environment when it comes to honesty, competence and affordability. Do NOT come over here thinking you will be getting some kind of a "great" deal. My van was there for a ridiculous period of time and still came back to me unfinished and marginally road worthy. Locals have this notion of supporting local businesses which is fine as long as they know what they're doing and are not stealing you blind. Many here are naive in this regard. This business offers even their own locals crap so you can imagine how they treat the suckers from outside our area. Whether it is service or sales, good luck, you will need that and more in dealing with these unfriendly and incompetent people.

James Ford went above and beyond. I was bringing my GT500 in for an oil change and on the way discovered an issue with my Expedition. Without an appointment they were able to accommodate both vehicles and properly repaired a failed electrical component in my climate system and a blown fuse in the towing system. Another job well done for James Ford and why I travel quite a distance to have my Ford vehicles serviced there.

I wanted to buy a car for my son to learn to drive in and that we could tow behind a motorhome on ?all fours?. After doing some research, we found that the ford focus might be a good fit for our needs. I searched the internet to find a good deal, and located a new 2014 focus hatchback in the color I was looking for at James Ford in Half Moon bay. Even though they were located over one hundred miles from us, they had such a great deal on the vehicle that I decided to send an email expressing my interest. Steve Meister responded almost immediately, and within 24 hours he was able to offer me a very good deal with the vehicle purchase and financing. The following day we drove to Half Moon Bay to pick up our new car. Everything was ready and waiting for us upon our arrival, and Steve was friendly, courteous, and respectful throughout the entire process. I have never felt very comfortable buying a new car, but I never felt pressured or frustrated during the transaction, and I couldn?t be happier with my new car. Thanks for a great experience!

This was a recall relating to a battery recall relating to the 2013 Ford C-Max which has turned out to be somewhat of a lemon for me. I am grateful that James Ford had the parts.I am still waiting for a replacement for the air bags recall from last September. Ford doesn't seem to be shipping the parts and I have been told that I will have to wait another 3 months. It's not the fault of the dealership, but Ford itself that this recall has not been completed yet.

The vehicle had a body joint seal leak (Right Firewall)that caused the inside to flood. The other side was fixed under warranty with in a year of purchase in 2007. They took the time to find leak and repair and find new carpet.

6.7 diesel. Normal oil change/routine service. Service went well. People were friendly. When service was done, got into truck to leave and was hit with an extremely strong chemical smell. Cleaner or solvent I don't know. I assumed smell would dissipate soon with windows open so I left. It took 3-4 days before I could finally close the windows. Smell was evident outside the truck too but almost unbearable inside. If I left the truck parked with windows closed I thought the interior would melt it was so bad. Also - found DEF spilled around filler that was never wiped off and dried. Of all my visits there with two vehicles, I've never had a bad experience like this. Being only one data point so far won't change my mind about using James Ford. Hopefully it won't happen again. Especially with my wife's car.

With the 2013 Fusion we had purchased a service contract. I guess it is good if you drive your car a normal amount. We only go about 7500 miles per year so I think it is cheaper to just pay for the service. Anyway, after we serviced the 2013 we saw a 2015 Fusion Titanium on the lot, new color and lots of new stuff. It feels like a different car, ride, steering and the braking is much smoother, the 2013 was too sensitive and grabby. It appears that Ford has refined the Fusion over the years.As usual the Brandt's gave us a great deal, so we bought the 2015. This is our third Fusion, 10, 13 and 15 from James Ford. We will continue to use James Ford's service department, a very professional group of people. We will miss Rich for his electronic abilities, we wish him the best in Oregon.

My friend saw my new car on line and did a "pre-inspection" for me. He told me thought it would be a good buy, suit my needs, and he was impressed with Gerald, the sales person who spent a lot of time conversing. Next day I attained a ride to Half Moon Bay from Hayward where I reside. Inspected and drove the vehicle, was quite enchanted. Negotiated a great deal. Totally painless. Drove over the mountain, unfamiliar road, in the dark and rain! Across San Mateo bridge with posted, "High winds" Didn't even notice. I LOVE all the features of MY Ford Focus Titanium! There is a "learning curve" with my new "computer" on wheels and Gerald will see me through it, I have been assured. I'm having a blast taking "selfies" of me and my new car! Smooth and fun to drive. Our 2006 Escape had its transmission fail. Repairing it would cost much more than the car was worth. We came to James Ford to discuss trading it in on a newer Escape. The staff was very friendly and understanding. The whole transaction was completed in about three hours, which isn't bad. Lacy and his team did very well. This is the seventh vehicle we have bought from James Ford and it won't be the last.

Came in for a tune up before a long distance trip. We have a plane flight. Traveling to airport I heard a noise under my truck to airport. At the airport parking lot, I looked under my truck and noticed fiberious shield hanging below my truck rubbing on the ground. I took a picture and in Hawaii called my service adviser. I liked that the discounted prices, rather than MSRP, were on the website. In my case the advertised price was as competitive as local dealers negotiated prices, so that saved time as well. The sales process was smooth and moved along quickly, but was not rushed. Options, such as extended warranty were carefully explained and examples had been prepared beforehand. I left with the definite feeling that I would receive good after sales service as well. I did indeed receive excellent after sales service to replace the rims on the vehicle I bought which had defective clearcoat.

James Ford is a disgraceful dealership. My husband and I bought and 2006 Expedition from them in August 2013. We opted for an extended warranty and also advised not to purchase gap insurance as we were assured it was worth far more than what we owed on it. Fast forward to November, the car wouldn't start. I was told by the Service Department there was corrosion on the battery and everything was fine. Fast forward a few days, the car wouldn't start again and it felt like the transmission was slipping. Took it back in and were told it was going to cost $1300 to repair 6 coils, replace all the spark plugs and various other issues. We were also told the warranty that we paid $2000 extra for, covered NONE of it. Yet, had we opted for the more expensive warranty, it would have been covered as told to us by Dee the sales manager. The repairs to the vehicle took almost 3 weeks and the rental car we were first given didn't fit our sons carseat. When we informed them of this, they got us another rental only for us to return it because the work wasn't covered under the warranty and the extra rental was costing the dealership money. After much back and forth, the quoted $1300 repair bill was taken care of by the general manager, which we greatly appreciated. Fast forward again to now (February 2014), my husband and I decided the fuel costs on this vehicle are outrageous; time to find something more efficient. We took it to another local dealership to have it appraised for a trade in. We find out not only are we the NINTH owner (this is to be disputed by Jim Brandt himself. I'll explain...) as well as the vehicle has been in an ACCIDENT! Because of this information, we find out the car is worth LESS THAN 1/3 of what we owe on it. Are you kidding me? Not to mention, we have been driving our infant son around in a vehicle that has been involved in an accident. My husband and I decided this must be some mistake. We ran the car fax report, only to find out the information was TRUE. James Ford NEVER disclosed any information about an accident or that the vehicle had had so many previous owners. I went into James Ford today to discuss this information with the General Manager Jim Brandt. First of all, he was extremely rude and dismissive. He essentially called me ignorant because I used car fax. He told me to my face that "Carfax is a joke! They're getting sued." He proceeded to tell me that he couldn't possibly remember who I was or what vehicle I had purchased because they sell "several hundred vehicles per month". Yet, 2 minutes later he remembered he ate the cost of the "extensive service". He pulled our file and there was NO CAR HISTORY REPORT. So he pulls the "industry standard report" as he called it and it shows no accidents. So I asked him in the Department of Motor Vehicles in Arizona are liars?(this is where the accident was reported on Carfax report) He said he couldn't have possibly known it was in an accident. I said isn't it your responsibility to research and know about the vehicles you sell? He said it's only his responsibility to know what is given to him by the industry standard. Jim Brandt also said that we are not the 9th owner of this vehicle, this is actually how many times the vehicle has been "registered". I don't believe it for a second.He quickly dismissed me and it was a complete waste of my time. He proceeded to tell me with a car that old of course there would be problems. I don't recall a 2006 vehicle being "so old". Also, he told me that I shouldn't worry in the slightest bit about driving a vehicle that's been in an accident, especially with my infant son because the car is "such a tank". He handed me his "industry standard report" and I walked out.Talk about a bunch of crap. Meanwhile, salesmen were rudely interrupting the conversation without even an "excuse me", they would just talk over me while they got their work done. My favorite part of the whole experience? He couldn't even wait for me to completely exit the dealership before he started speaking poorly about me and the purchase of my vehicle and the "free service" he performed on the car. James Ford will never have my business again. While I realize losing one customer isn't going to impact business, word of mouth and experience go very far. DO NOT BUY FROM JAMES FORD. EVER. Worst $11,000 mistake we've EVER made.

The purchase of my 2010 Expedition was wonderful after driving from San Jose to Half Moon Bay. After driving all the way back to San Jose I discovered that one of the programmable keys did not work in the ignition: In fact it will set off the alarm if you try to start the vehicle with that particular key. I did drive over to HMB again for key service: They closed at 5 PM - no one there to fix the key. Probably my fault for not checking but I was told to bring it in - no mention of time. I drove back on Saturday morning - service does not work on weekends - learned that the hard way. I still have not been able to get the key programmed - I work during the day and a local dealer is going to charge me a good chunk of change to program the key. Some one needs to make sure when a vehicle is delivered that ALL of the keys work the way they are suppose to work.

Don't buy a car online from these people--or trust a word from their sales team. The dealership claimed the car we bought was in excellent condition. They sent us inspection reports to verify the condition and mentioned their satisfaction guarantee. It arrived with a mismatched paint job that will cost $5,000 to fix. They denied it despite a professional report from an auto appraiser detailing the bootleg paint work. The dealership finally responded only after we posted negative reviews online. Taking no responsibility, they told us to remove all negative reviews and then they would "let" us return the car at our own expense. When we continued to demand a fair amount to cover the cost to repair the car to the condition it was advertised, they offered us $1,000 hush money to remove all our negative reviews, 1/5 of the cost to repair their mistake. Just really steer clear from these people. The salespeople were nice but untruthful. The customer service staff member was rude, combative, and repeatedly claimed to have lost emails we sent to try to fix their mistake.

I had been looking for a 2013 mustang GT to replace my 2006 GT. I expanded my search for cars to 500 miles from my home, which included James Ford. The car I saw was almost exactly what I wanted. The price was about 10K less than retail and the car had 4700 miles on it. They offered me 11K for my car and when I arrived they did not quibble over it. From the beginning Jimmy Brandt was very polite and informative. Any questions I had were answered. Any questions he could not answer immediately he found and contacted me with the updates. Even though I was driving 10 hours one way to buy this car, I felt relatively confident. When I arrived, the car was beautiful in every respect. Despite the twelve metric tons of paperwork, it was a fairly easy transaction. Since I only purchased the car 4/26/2013, I suppose there could be some issues that crop up, but as of now I am happy with both the car and the purchase. And after driving it home to Eugene Oregon, 700 miles up 101 on the coast, thus far all seems well.

Buy a car elsewhere. Pay an independent auto appraiser to inspect the car if you make the mistake of considering business with this dealership. If I were Ford, I would be embarrassed to allow them to conduct business under my umbrella. My wife and I purchased a used Ford Escape we found through an online search. They assured us the car was "superclean" in their ads, a "5 out of 5" condition over the phone, and repeatedly referenced their 100 point inspection and their "Customer Satisfaction Guarantee" where you can "buy with Confidence" (sic). It took 5 seconds to see the car had problems from a distance, most noticeably that 85% of the car had been cheaply repainted without even trying to match the original paint. We immediately contacted the dealer, who stalled until after the 3 day return policy, and then denied our claim for a return or reimbursement to paint the car to the condition it was advertised. We hired an independent car appraiser to evaluate the car and he verified the "very poor quality" repaint job that they did not disclose--all despite the fact their inspection claimed the exterior was great. We sent them photographs and detailed reports from auto professionals to verify our claims. After they received our payment for the car, any desire to treat us with respect disappeared. Our claims were met with denial, delay, and rudeness. If this dealership chooses to pay to restore to the car to the condition they advertised, I will update this review. Until then, my 6 weeks of business with this dealership result in the worst review I could provide to any business in my lifetime.

I e-mailed an offer to James Ford on a used Taurus. The response back to me from James Ford on my offer was "sounds good to me" and furthermore said make an appt. to come test drive and "buy" the vehicle. Luckily, I saw the rating from another previous unhappy James Ford customer who had a very similar experience. So I decided to call them first before driving out to Half Moon Bay and verify that the manager had approved it. I was told that he would let me know when I arrived at the dealership. We went back and forth on the phone and all I got was frustrated. Well, at least I saved myself a trip way out there. If they don't like the price that is offered why not just say so in the e-mail response, it's that simple, they shouldn't lead people on.

Went to Fords website. Got to James Ford in Halfmoon Bay website. Went to get an online price. Got a call from saleman(Morris). I told him I wanted to pay only $500 over invoice. He said "NO PROBLEM". I called Morris to let him know my family and I were on the way down to the dealership (about 45 mile drive). When I got there was met by Morris and went to see car. We went into his office and then he got out a paper pad and started to write numbers downs. I told him that we agreed to $500 over invoice. He then went to his boss and his boss said no. I told morris not to waste my time. I had to travel with my wife and 2 kids. It is like a mini vacation packing up for 2 kids. I was so mad, this dealership just told me that I can have the car at one price and when I got there they lied to me. I was leaving and Morris came up to me and I asked him why did you make come down this far(not the closes dealership) when you know we have a deal for $500 over invoice. He told me" I WANTED TO MEET YOU" and "WE CAN NOT OFFER THIS TO YOU CAUSE YOU CAME TO LATE". I told him he should have let me know that. Plus I called him to let him know we were on our way down. He should have told me right then and there the deal was off. I wouldn't have wasted my time. I will never go to them. Don't trust them. Get it in writing.
