From the time the finance manager tried to over charge me for my new car to the sales lady Beth who tried to deny the price agreement, she tried to overcharge me by $1,000 as did Eric. to them sending me the wrong title paperwork. To the consistent problems with the radio to the dash noise to the total denial they would be able to fix the radio. i have little to nothing positive to say about this dealership.I was told the only way they could fix my radio was if they were to see it while the radio was malfunctioning. That's not feasible for me to stop what I'm doing and drive across town or possibly from out of town to the dealership to have them look at my radio. They also wanted me to leave it for them so they could have a senior citizen drive my car around throughout the day and try to replicate the problems with the radio. The radio acted up sporadically over several months. It's not as if it happened every day. They showed no desire to fix it. Even though I showed them a video of it while it was happening. That was not enough.I would never recommend them at all.

Robin, the Customer Experience Manager, followed up on a dealer survey I had which dealt with the same issues I described below in my Nov. 8 review. She more than made up for my previous pain. Excellent service & in fairness, I wanted to make this known. The only thing I am unhappy about now is that I had to buy a tire on a brand new vehicle with only 600 miles... but that's life.

My brand new car's fuze box was missing a part that locked it in place, so I made an appointment the 24th. A part was ordered and I was told it would be in Thursday. I called to make another apt and no record of this prior visit existed. So I came in the 31st and started all over again. While there, I pointed out a nail in my tire and asked they remove it. I came home only to find the nail was still there. Then I was told I would have to buy another tire on my car with 600 miles. Needless to say, not a good experience in any case

Jim Butler's staff, from sales to finance, are some of the most courteous people you'll meet. They make buying a vehicle a pleasant experience from start to finish. This type of attitude is also seen within the service department as well. I have purchased two vehicles from Butler, in addition to referring family and friends, and have yet to meet a person who could contradict my testimony.

My truck didn't start after work, so I contacted to nearest reputable dealership to get it towed in and serviced. It was just the starter, so I assumed it would be a quick, painless fix. The customer service representative said they contracted towing to a local company, so I contacted the towing company and arranged a tow. Then, I called in and spoke with the customer service rep again to confirm it was on its way and give information about the vehicle and myself. She said that it would be looked at the following morning. Approximately an hour later, Jim Butler's automotive service department called me to confirm that they had received it and get more information. At no point in this process did any member of Jim Butler's team state or even imply that there could be any issue working on the vehicle. At 6 p.m. the following evening, a member of the automotive service team called to say that he didn't think they could work on it. After I inquired why, he stated that it was a Ford and that it could require tools that they didn't have. I explained that I had spoken with two employees and that they had not raised any concerns of mentioned any problems despite having full knowledge that it was both a Ford and a diesel. The service employee then said that he would speak to his manager about the situation and call me when they had figured it out, but emphasized that Jim Butler typically does not work on vehicles not sold on their lot unless they are Chevrolets. At 10 a.m. the next morning, the service manager for Jim Butler called me and said that I should get the vehicle towed to a Ford dealership because Jim Butler couldn't work on it. He offered to diagnose it for $135, which wouldn't have been an issue except he explicitly stated that Jim Butler most likely couldn't perform the repair, even if it was as simply as a starter, because it would require special tools being a diesel and a Ford. For around twenty minutes, we went in circles as I explained that nobody had pointed to any problems or else I would've just had it taken elsewhere to begin with. He stated directly that it was my fault for not having it towed to Ford in the first place and refused to pay the second tow bill to get it taken to a dealership that could guarantee their ability to perform a repair. Furthermore, regardless of the miscommunications between employees and myself, he refused to waive the diagnosis fee to ascertain if it was plausible to repair at Jim Butler. Under normal circumstances, this request would be ludicrous, but considering the lack of competence and knowledge of the service department's capabilities, is it so unreasonable? No workers communicated any potential issues, included a member of the service department, and the service manager refused to correct their mistakes by either having the vehicle towed to another location or inspecting the vehicles to determine whether they could fix it. This cost me two days as well as an additional $80 for the second tow bill to a diesel shop that fixed the starter within an hour of the truck arriving. All in all, disappointing doesn't begin to describe the total lack of customer service and ineffective communication between departments and employees; a far better descriptor is negligent. The silver lining is that the first two employees I spoke with, the customer service rep and the auto service gentleman who confirmed delivery, were incredibly polite. Albeit, they told me to ship over a vehicle Jim Butler's service department may or may not have had the ability to repair.

They kept forgetting about my second set of keys, messed up the paperwork, three extra trips to the dealership and they had a come to my house twice because I refuse to keep going there to get everything taken care of. I asked for a store credit because of all the inconveniences I had to go through. I was told I received a good deal on the truck and they were not going to do anything else.

We had went to another Chevy dealership, and were not pleased, ie: the color we wanted in the Chevy trax, the salesman there said it was no longer available in the 2016 models. At Jim Butlers, our salesman Scott was great, informed us yes, the color we wanted is still available, he was no pressure, answered all our questions and since the one we wanted was not in stock, they searched for us, and was able to find it and get it to us ! We would definitely go back, this in fact is the third new car we have purchased from Jim Butler !!

I first went to Jim Butler to purchase my first new car. The staff was excellent. Everything was explained to me and I was asked what I wanted. The staff made the entire process run very smoothly. After all paperwork was signed and I took posession of my SUV, I received calls to make sure everything was going well. My second experience was going in for routine service. I was called to set up my appointment for service which I really liked. I went in for the services and again was met with a very friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend Jim Butler for auto purchases and service.

I will NEVER AGAIN visit this dealership. In the last 5 years my family and friends have purchased SEVEN different cars from Jim Butler. I had to take my vehicle back 4 TIMES and each time something else would be fixed and something else would quit working. All things were working when I took the car in. They needed to replace one item and then messed up something else. Each time this happened and they acted like they were doing me a favor 'not charging' for each subsequent visit. Each subsequent issue was a direct result of the initial repair. Ridiculous!

I was clear that I wanted to stay around$300/ month payment and was lead to believe that they were going to make that happen. Imagine my disbelief when my payment options ranged from $560/month to $430/month. I was backed against a wall and needed a car so I signed paperwork. Within hours of taking home a car I let my salesman know I needed to bring the car back and he said bring it back Monday to discuss options. I told him I wanted to return it! In Monday I was told I couldn't return the car even though the deal had not even been funded yet? All these people want is your money. They don't care if they screw you over and ruin your family with two kids, all they care about is another sale to notch up! Stay away! These are the worst customer service people I have ever dealt with.

While there, I had the honor of meeting Ryan Zimmerman. He took the time to thoroughly explain the benefits of purchasing a Malibu and Impala. He answered all of my questions. He emailed me information from Chevrolet website as well as kept in touch. Ryan made purchasing my new car easy and delightful. He is a EXCELLENT salesman and an addition to the Jim Butler family. I just want to say Mike Hinney and Megan were the best two individuals that I've worked with. Megan got me started on phone and I'm from south Louisana. She worked on my deal with Mike and got me a fair trade and I real fair deal on my 2013 ZL1 Camaro. Mike handled all my questions and got me answers in a timely manner. Wish I could say I was very pleased, but I'm not. When I complained about an issue that occurred, I felt like their person (Robin) tried intimidating me. Of course it wasn't their fault, even though they are the only place I had taken my car for the issue. This car hadn't been driven 34,000 miles when it completely broke down, and I had purchased it brand new. I keep getting mail and emails and phone calls to bring my vehicle back and trade it in for a new car, even though I've told them I am not interested. I take this vehicle elsewhere for service now, and I keep getting notices that my vehicle is past due, to bring it in. Once they get your phone number and address, they don't stop using them, over and over again. I was told they were #1 in dealerships. I would hate to see what #10 did to their customers. Robin, you won't intimidate me again.

The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing at this dealership. The first appointment was to have a broken glove box latch repaired under warranty. It took 2 separate appointments, and many hours to get a 5 minute job done. The next appointment took 2 and 1/2 hours to get a simple oil change. The process of turning over the car, getting the mechanic to do the job, and then jumping through hoops to get your car back reminds you of the most insane way you could think of to make the task as complicated as possible. We are still waiting to get the car back for a week now because a sensor decided the stability system has a problem. First they promised to look at it the same day, but ran out of time. Then they said leave it for 3 more days and we could pick it up Thursday. Thursday came around, and still nothing. Today they finally got around to looking at it, and they will need to order a part. I've decided it will be much faster to drive 10 times farther to another dealer for future service. Jim Butler SUCKS!

They have a poor communication and Customer service there. They gave me a car saying that I got finance with company . They told me to take the car home for a week cause they had me waiting out there for 3-5 hours. So I took the car home and I had it for a week and then they turn around saying come back up they to sign my paper work cause thry had me finance with a company, so Im thinking I have the car about almost 3 weeks later they turn around and none of my paper work was right what I gave them no they where wrong everything was right what I gave them (NO THEY DIDN'T GET ME FINANCE WITH NO COMPANY THEY LIE TO ME) I WOULD NEVER EVER SEEN SOMEBODY OUT THERE TO GET A CAR. IF YOU TRYING TO GET A CAR WITH THEM DON'T GO CAUSE THEY WILL HAVE YOU ON A RUN AROUND NEVER EVER AGAIN DO BUSINESS WITH THEM EVER. I TRUST THEM WITH MY CREDIT, THIS COMPANY RAN MY CREDIT 5 OR TIMES THINKING I HAD A AUTO LOAN. THIS IS A WORST PLACE TO GET A CAR!!!!

We were trying to pay cash for a 40-45K vehicle cash or financing it ourself-- we communicated directly and just got talked to in circles and never got an answer on what the price is and what they would do to get our business today but rather what a great deal it would to be to spend 60-70K on a 2016 model. It's too bad bc they have a car we want to buy- but cars are commodities so we will just go else where.

Salesman was nice but once the deal got to finance department it went bad. Rick Hagar was the finance guy that we dealt with. When you offer a 11.9% rate to a customer with good credit are you really doing the best you can for the customer. Went to different dealer & got a 3.9% rate on same vehicle. Guess Rick had mortgage payment due & needed some extra cash.

They only offered me $1,800 for my trade at first, but I would not take that. They then gave me the $3,000 I wanted for my trade, so I bought the Chevrolet Trax. The sales agent was fine. He was not cocky or obnoxious. He was also apologetic for mistakes.

Bought a 2014 Sonic - lost second Key and was hurried on phone and told car has to be towed to dealership to get a new key made for around $175 for that make and model. Got to dealership and Mike took me onto office, closed door as if he was breaking bad news to me said "They told you wrong" " a new key will cost around $400 as there are hours of labor involved" - really ? are you %*#at^ me. I calmly stated that I was going to call 1-800-chevy and tow it either back home or to another dealer - all of the sudden he was going to do it for $175. what a shady, sketchy, classic slimy trick - I wonder how many elderly people get ripped off with this kind of tactic.

I'm a Chevy guy, so when Jim Butler moved to the Bluffs, I went in to buy a new truck. I have had my truck in numerous times for oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections, and have always had a pleasant experience. Steve Greer the Service Manager has always been available to explain any warranty work with me. I have e mailed Robin in Customer Service many times to set up appointments, etc. She always response quickly, and always follows up with me to be sure I was taken care of. I took my Equinox in for an oil change and tire rotation without an appointment. I was told it would be 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I was offered a shuttle to take me to the local shopping center while I waited. I declined because I felt like walking but thought it was a really nice offer. My car was ready in just under one hour. I was pleasantly surprised. No other dealership is as kind and helpful.

The beginning of November I called to make an appointment for service on my 2009 Saturn VUE. The earliest I could get an appointment was the 19th at 11:30 a.m. I brought my car to the dealership on the evening of the 18th and described the problem I was having. I called the next day at 1p.m. and was told that there was no information available on my car and someone would call me back. At 3:15 p.m. I called again and was told the Dawn had my paperwork and would call me back. When I spoke to Dawn she told me that they could not duplicate the problem with my car and I could leave the car another day or come and pick it up. I left the car for another day. On the 20th I called at 1 p.m. and Dawn said that she was trying to get another technician to take my car on a longer test drive to try to duplicate the problem. At 4:35 Dawn called back and said they had duplicated the problem and the plugs and wires needed to be replaced to the tune of $605---I know that the price of repairs are not negotiable, however that isn't what I have a problem with. When I called on the 18th and spoke with Rob, I questioned if I would have actually been waiting for my car on the 19th would I have had to waited from my 11:30 appointment to 3:15 to find out that they couldn't duplicate the problem, and he said that they were swamped and that even with an appointment they were running 2 days behind. I do not believe that my car was even looked at on the 19th. If, when I brought the car in on the 18th they would have told me that they were behind, the honest thing to do would have been to offer a loaner car. I have had my car serviced at the dealership before, but I can tell you that I will not be bringing my car back again. I thought the whole situation was handled very unprofessional.

I received a recall letter from gm about my Chevrolet equinox. It has bad piston rings create oil consumption. (It has been burning oil for a year. I called jim butler service and they said they would have to order the parts. 3 months later I called them and they said the parts have been there for over a month but they didn't know who ordered them. I then had to make an appointment. I dropped off the vehicle overnight and received a call from Kim the next morning. She said that I would have to purchase an oil change and bring the car back every 1000 miles 5 times in order for them to verify the oil loss. I told her that sounded shaddy and I wanted to speak witthe service mamager (Mike). After 5 hours of waiting I called gm recall hotline. They said that is not how that process works. I then called kim back to explain what gm said she informed me that gm already had a rep contact them. She then became extremely argumentative and disrespectful telling me they need proof that im not lying about the engine burning oil. I told her that its a recall and to forget the whole thing and pull my vehicle out im coming up to get it. Upon arrival the manager Mike hide behind the cashier door until I left like a little kid. All I have to say is wow. I will not return to jim butler EVER. and I will make sure to tell everyone how childish and disrespectful this dealership behaves.

Purchased a 2015 Equinox. Staff was extremely courteous and knowledgable. This was the first American made auto that I've ever purchased. This was also the first time that I've gone into a dealership where they were able to find me what I was looking for, and get everything completed from start to finish within a couple of hours instead of going into a dealership in the morning and not leaving until late evening. I appreciate the service that was provided and the friendly atmosphere and not having to sit there and haggle about every little thing. Very Professional staff working at Jim Butler Chevrolet and I will recommend them to everyone that I know that is interested in purchasing another vehicle, whether it be new or used. Hello my wife and I bought a equinox at Jim Butler and have had a couple of issues. One being the gas mileage is horrible and nowhere near the posted mpg on the sticker . The thing also sounds like a diesel we have taken it and something was a supposed recall . Now I'm reading through some of these reviews and you are lecturing people on when to have your oil changed I always thought it was every 3000 but when my wife called to set up an appointment she was told you can go 8000 please get your stories straight if you are going to lecture people please.

The salesman was more pushy than I like and played stupid games. They also really tried to push the "extra" services for the used car I bought. I did buy the warranty and had an issue where the engine was idling rough and the service engine light came on. The computer said the issue was a sensor. Got the truck back and it still idled rough. I should have taken it back right away, but they don't give out loaner cars and I didn't want to pay for a rental. Fast forward 8 months and the service engine light came back on. This time the truck was 5 months out of the warranty. They said there was internal engine damage. The lady from the service department (who is actually a pretty hard worker and smart) gave me a lecture on changing the oil every 3,000 mile and not a mile over. They conveniently neglected to tell me that Chevy has a ton of issues with the 2008 flex fuel engines. This truck has less than 100,000 miles on it! Not impressed! I, obviously, didn't get their best effort on either side of the deal here. Also wanted to mention that there was a weeks wait for the service department both times.

I'm a single mom and full time newspaper reporter and have a hectic daily schedule with two children. I was having some issues with my tires and needed to get an appointment right away, which Jim Butler was more than willing to accommodate and get me in on a Friday afternoon. The experience was wonderful. I had my two-year-old daughter with me and it wasn't even stressful due to the helpful nature of the staff. Plus they have an awesome kids playroom area with a table and tv so my daughter, Penny, was able to watch a movie and do puzzles while money finished some work on her laptop. The sprinkles on the cake for me that afternoon was not only did they perform and oil change and tire rotation within an hour's time, but they also provided me with a coupon for a complimentary car wash, which my daughter was thrilled about! My mother and I went to look for a 2014 Suburban. The Fenton location was near closing so all the indoor lights were on and we could see a bunch of men looking through the window at us, but no one came out. We asked a salesman working with someone else for sales help. Finally, a middle aged guy came out and was obviously annoyed. He showed us a car that wasn't what we wanted. I asked that he take my number and what we were looking for. He never called and we felt like we weren't treated right. We just bought a beautiful 2014 Suburban while on vacation in Utah. There are so many options, spend your money where you're appreciated.

I had bought a 2008 Chevy cobalt back in 2011 from Troy Hardin, my cobalt had several issues. My car sat for months because of the ignition locking up I didn't feel safe. I contacted Troy Hardin from the start he never did anything about it even though I had purchased the extended warranty. Fast forward to recently they had recalls on the ignition. I spoke with Robyn who at first worked with me by putting me in a rental car, but her attitude had changed calling my daughter telling her I had 24 hours to get the rental car back or she is calling the cops (this was Thursday) My car hadn't even been fixed I picked up my car on Saturday at 11:30. They picked both mine and my daughters car on Thursday night and i got my fixed car back sat. I picked my car up sat they didn't say anything then about getting the rental back that day (and enterprise closes at 12:00pm)..Robyn called me at 1:30 told me I was keeping the rental car until Monday and I was paying for two days. Monday my daughter went in to talk to mike Simms who was rude to her but kept repeating "if you knew me I am a nice guy". My daughter ended up leaving the rental at Jim butler and getting shuttled home. He tried to belittle her, he spoke to her with disrespect, I know I heard the whole recorded conversation. Robyn forsythe and mike Simms both knew the only car we had was the rental. They towed both mine and my daughters car on Thursday. I got my car back Saturday morning. I was then charged by enterprise for Friday( even tho I didn't have my car), Saturday( u picked the car up at 11:30, no way I could of made it to arnold in that time), and Sunday. I cannot see being charged for Friday at all, Saturday( I can maybe see but they should of let me bring it up to the dealership(which Monday he told my daughter she could of done but Robyn didn't give that choice) and Sunday ok. I didn't care to drive it it was parked in my driveway since sat morning. But again Robyn told me I had to return it to fenton enterprise on Monday. No other choice. As far as mike Simms I had tried to talk to him but that man does not want to hear his customers. He is very rude. You cannot belittle your customers and then expect them to want to come back, I was a former gm owner but I will never tie my name to another gm in my life after they way they treated both myself and my daughter. That's there loss not mine. If you value your money and like being treated with respect go elsewhere.If you want to be belittled, yelled at and want to get screwed of here and ask for Troy hardin, Robyn forsythe, or mike Simms. There caring comments are not true they work with no one.

When I pulled up for my oil change, the staff was very polite, helpful and pointed me in the right direction (waiting area). While I waited I was shocked at how clean the waiting area was, they offered donuts (which sucked for me as I am dieting), coffee and bottled water - NOBODY does that! The time it took was really no time at all! I absolutely love JIM BUTLER and I am so happy that my sister introduced me to this dealership - I WILL NEVER SHOP ANYWHERE ELSE!

I stopped by this dealership earlier this week because I wanted to test drive the Spark and the Sonic. The staff was very rude and passive aggressive. They let me drive the Sonic, but not the Spark (even though they had many outside). I don't recommend this dealership at all, your money is better spent ANYWHERE else.

I came in for tire rotation and oil change. Ended up needing a front end alignment . Kim quoted me the price of 99$ . I was over charged 10$ which caused me to be short on my personal funds. I spoke with the manager I believe his name was Jim , he investigated into my complaint/question and rectified it and gave me back 10$ that I was overcharged. I really hated to complain because in fear of a future retaliation or looked at as an annoying or troublesome customer. But Jim was extremely courteous and professional. He made my day! Jim Butler has the best staff and I am thankful to use them . Thanks Jim the manager!

I will never buy a car here again. I went in with my GF and the salesman and us decided on a price and in the paperwork it was $500 more then we agreed on. I missed this due to me having to chase the kid around while my GF did the paperwork. I should have paid more attention. My wife brought in my 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche for a rear window leak and possible brake service. She was immediately greeted and escorted to the waiting area. Less than five minutes she was met with a service writer who thoroughly asked questions about our concerns and explained what steps would be taken. This included ordering a new rear window and doing a thorough inspection of the brakes to rule out what could potentially be a warranty issue. She was then given a brand new Impala to use until our vehicle would be completed. I also want to include that I appreciate the fact that my vehicle was kept under roof overnight with wheel locks attached. The next day I was kept in constant contact about the status of my vehicle, which did include diagnosing the brake issue. My wife picked up the truck after work, was escorted to the cashier and back to the service counter the minute she arrived. The truck was problem-free, and I later received a letter to stop by and have the window quickly replaced, which was also done in a timely manner. I want you to know that I have dealt with many St. Louis dealers over the years, but this may be the best experience I have ever had. Your staff are both welcoming and accommodating. Your dealership should be an example to others as to how customers should be treated! Very impressed!

Kevin at Jim Butler Chevrolet in Fenton had very little knowledge of the Malibu he was trying to sell. He was unable to provide the car the internet sales rep had emailed about. He also acted like he didn't know the price difference between the ECO and LT Malibu's. We went in wanting an ECO and ended up with an LT. He did not work well with us on the price nor did he relay any usefull information about the vehicle, such as, there is no spare tire, the roadside assitance it comes with, the included free oil changes the dealer provides. After the sale, we notice a rubber piece missing in the door. He did not help as he promised to solve the issue and quickly sent us to service. He will tell you anything to make the sale and not back any of it up. To add to the mess, the finance guy automatically assumed we would use the company they prefer without asking. Even worst, the finance company said the sales sheet was missing multiple pieces of information so the competency of the employees is sub par. They said they are number 1 and between this dealer and another, that is the universal signal to turn around and leave. They only care about the bottom dollar and will manipulate people for a sale. I will go back only to deal with the issues for my elderly mother they took advantage of, but I will never buy or recommend Jim Butler Chevrolet in Fenton, MO.

I had a little hiccup at the beginning but they held up to their end of the bargain. I used to go to another dealer but I am now a Butler customer! I wish their parking was a little better, but now I just drive in they take care of me! I love the car wash they give at the end of the service! I recommended Butler to a friend while fishing this weekend and he came in and if he buys I get $100 out of the deal from Butler Chevrolet.

Everything was great! Car buying isn't easy, but Tim (my salesperson) made everything very smooth and simple. I haven't purchased a new car before, but I would certainly come back for my next one!

I have been working with Chris for about a week on a tough trade with tough financing. He has been great and everytime I talk to him he is upbeat and is very willing to help me get what I really want. I have not made a purchase yet, because I am still waiting for that perfect fit, but I hope that Butler Chevrolet can make a Camero deal work because I really want to come back and edit this review to say that Chris busted his butt to get my deal done!If not, Chris still gets Kudos for his customer service and the dealership gets kudos for hiring such a customer centered professional.

I have been buying cars for over 51 years, Jim Butler Chevrolet has to be one of the best auto dealers inn St. Louis, and Brad Sowers Dealer Principal has been so helpful in maintaining the good customer dealer relationship, there always a follow up to make the client is happy with the service that they had, I would recommend this dealership to anyone.

I bought 2 vehicles, both used. My Corvette has been in the shop for almost 3 weeks for a single repair. I was told on numerous occasions the part was on order. I went by today and was told the part was not there for the third time.Since I bought the car it has been in the repair shop there longer than at my home. The other car, a Cobalt, runs well so far, except for a minor brake squeek.I received a very good loan rate, but my credit is excellent(paid cash for the Cobalt). The personnel there are very courteous and professional, but why does it take 3 weeks to fix a steering gear box?If it weren't for the glacially slow repair Dept., I would have bought additional vehicles from them.I am uncertain if I should buy more if they can't make simple repairs in a timely fashion.
