Excellent facilities and staff who treat you like you're the most important customer, regardless of how much you're spending in the service department. Quick, efficient check-in and check-out, and they make it clear that they want you to leave satisfied. Nice waiting area as well.

I recently purchased an older Cabrio and had to have a few minor issues taken care of - like, really minor. On my first visit, Joe found an open recall and immediately ordered the parts, and followed up with a phone call when they arrived. During that visit, I had my oil changed. So, I've spent a total of about $75 at this dealership. Even so, they made me feel like I am a valued customer - extremely professional and polite. If they're this kind with a minor issue, I know I'll be in good hands if I ever have a more serious concern.As for the facility, it rocks! Love the easy pull-in to a climate controlled room, and check-in/check-out is super quick. If I hadn't needed a VW-specific light bulb in a hurry, I probably wouldn't have checked them out, but now I'm glad I did. I have confidence in their customer service and expertise.

My service reprehensive Johnny or John, who I do not see listed, provided me with exceptional customer service. I recently was offered and accepted a new position in Roseburg, Oregon and needed reliable transportation for my move and daily travel to my new place of employment. Johnny ask me specific questions and fulfilled my every need. He wasn't overly assertive or haggling and did not try to sell me unnecessary expenditures. He followed up with phone calls and emails and continued to do so while in my new environment. I hope that management will recognize the value of this special representative and continue to hire more like him. He does not fit the stereotype of the huffy red eyed, out of shape pushy car salesman. I not only received an excellent vehicle, but received a friend as well. Sincerely Michael S. Kagel.

Found my dream car. Drove from Wichita,Ks to buy it. Stephen Stamose helped me via text and phone make the purchasing process very simple. Made the trip, picked up my car and was on my way. Finance Director Jared Frierson made the long and tedious portion of the process quick and simple. To top all things off, I had forgotten to take a KC Royals bat that I had under the seat out of my trade in. I have had that bat since the late 70's. I called a couple of days later thinking that there was no chance of geting it back. Mr. Stamose had it back to me within a week. Buying a car is never a blast, but Stephen and Jared made it simple and stress free. It was well worth the one day 10 hour round trip. Cheers to you guys.

I was coming in because of a vehicle I had seen online that I had really liked. When we walked in a sales men named Adam Nichols helped us. He had sat down with us and talked a little. He told us we couldn't finance the truck I had liked because it had over 100,000 to 150,000 miles (which told us he didn't have any idea what he was talking about cause it was less than 100,000 and we knew because we already looked at the truck and if he did know which truck, we felt like he didn't really want to help with the specific truck for what ever reason) since we weren't ready to make a purchase we left. A few days later, still wanting that same vehicle, we went to the used dealer ship thinking since it was a used truck we might get farther there. We talked to Paul Heathman and he did a wonderful job helping us and we got the truck financed and am now driving it. Adam called me a couple days ago asking about a different truck and I told him I had gotten the truck financed that I had originally looked at. He got kinda mad and asked me where i went and I told him the Machens used dealership. He then told me that he was "super pissed off". I had apologized that I had made him mad and he told me hes not mad at me. I had to end the call cause I was at work. I have never been the person to complain and can usually just brush it off but I felt like that was very poor customer service. And he could have at least pretended to be happy that I got the truck instead of being mad at someone for taking his client or us for going through someone else. This isn't about the business because I can see me getting another vehicle from here but I will not go through Adam Nichols to do so or recommend him to anyone

My husband and I have never purchased a brand new car before and we were both very nervous and indecisive. Our salesperson, Anthony Heaper made the decision very easy and comfortable for us. We were not pressured in the least bit. We just told them what we wanted and they went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. We felt in control and respected and we cannot thank the team enough for making the 2nd biggest purchase of our life, so easy!

Mr Anthony Heaper was--is my salesman. We were doing wonderfully with a 2015 Silky Blue VW GOLF, and the car "sold" before I started to finalized my offer, and transportation situations. I live in Tulsa, and I have confidence we will buy our VW from Joe Machens via Mr. Anthony Heaper. Anthony is not pushy, very polite, and helpful. Only down side to buy from Joe, is I live in Tulsa. No way to take advantage of the LOCAL Dealership "FREEBIES." Believe the end price will make it all worth while. ~`~`~` PS: I have visited the local VW dealer, and they were not too friendly.

After a bad experience at another dealership I was a little hesitant about traveling over 4 hours to purchase my new VW Golf. All I can say is that I'm so glad I made the trip. Anthony Heaper was able to deliver on everything just as we had discussed over the phone. When I arrived all of the paperwork was ready to go and they had me finished up and back on the road quickly. I would highly recommend looking at Joe Machens if you're shopping for a VW!

I purchased a car from the local VW dealership, I could not get the same price as the STL market was advertising, but I was told I would be a cheat to purchase from STL market vs Columbia market where I live, I end up buying from there even though they did not have what I wanted, after Machens advertises they have every vehicle in stock. The big problem was the General Manager he kept pushing and pushing to get me to buy that day, and made many promises that after talking with the finical manager found out were nowhere near true. He stated that that happens a lot with this guy. The salesmen was good, and did everytthing he could to assit in a positve way. The overall experience of the dealership was very untrustworthy, and operated with no sense of integrity, I am not saying dont buy from here, but beware of getting the big talk with no deliver from the sales dept. To add I did meet the Service Manager and she seemed very helpful and trustworthy.

I bought my pre-owned car (2012 Ford Mustang) from Anthony Heaper, which was a great buying experience. I was checking out the car from 150 miles away, and Anthony was very helpful over the phone and in getting an appointment setup for me to see the vehicle in person. He was also easy to work with while I was at the dealer. I would give Anthony's service 5-Stars! I was also happy and impressed that he had 2 drivers follow me the 150 miles back home to deliver my car! I would have given the dealership 5-stars, but there were two issues that weren't pleasant. One was the finance manager's attitude when I didn't buy a $2,700 extended warranty and then seemingly reluctantly finding the best interest rate. Second was the service department forgetting to do their pre-owned multi-point inspection which required me to have the car serviced at a local Ford dealer at my own expense on items an inspection would have caught. Otherwise, great job Anthony!

Anthony Heaper began my journey by telling me my options and showing me a way to better my situation. Little did I know I would walk away in a car I thought I hated, down to the color. Anthony Heaper did a great job working with me and being patient to what I was looking for. I've been shopping around for awhile and he found a vehicle that suited my needs. Also Jared Frierson did an excellent job in explaining my options for financing when I was debating on an extended warranty and their GAP program. I own a '98 Honda CRV and it has been a very dependable car. I was shopping around online for something similar to what I had but less miles...black or white, preferably, and in decent condition. I found 2 or 3 vehicles that I liked but all the CRV's were way too expensive for my budget. Seemed like every time I found anything else I was interested in, someone else was interested in it, too...and would buy it. My contact person at JM was Anthony. What a great guy! Once he made contact with me he continued to make contact with me through texting. Just little short messages but never dropped the ball. After a few weeks Anthony text'd me and said a 2000 Honda CRV had just been traded in. It was white :), looked alot like my '98, had 100,000 less miles on it than my '98, very clean, and plus...all wheel drive! The price was perfect for my budget! Needless to say, I bought the car. Not sure I would've if Anthony hadn't helped me. He is a great guy plus a great car salesman. While I was very impressed with Anthony, I believe JM's could've done better.... I specifically told the fella that had me sign papers that I didn't want any extra warranties...just a loan for the amount of the car. I never buy extra warranties for anything....appliances, electronics, automobiles....but it was the end of the day and everyone was anxious to go home, I figure, and so I was rushed through the signing process. I assume I signed documents that I didn't want to sign but that's my fault. I am still trying to get the $6000 for "the extras" back from JM and to Missouri Credit Union and off of my loan balance. It could take up to 6 weeks to get it back!! Second aggravation....JM kept the car to "detail" it and give it a thorough inspection. I came back the next day to pick it up. All the little compartments were still dirty, the leather? seats were dull instead of shiny, there was still dirt under the floor mats, and the dash and windows weren't as clean as I felt they should be. But I was too excited about it to even bring it up. Driving home was awesome but over a period of the next few days a belt started squealing under the hood. Every darned time I started it the belt would slip and squeal....very embarrassing. Finally my husband got under the hood and discovered that the bolts had never been tightened on a belt that had been replaced by JM. If those bolts had come all the way out and the belt flew off it could've done some major damage to the CRV. My hubby fixed it and it's good now, but still....... Anthony's people skills saved JM from seeing my temper. If not for him I would've had to laugh out loud anytime Joe Machens dealerships were mentioned. I hope none of you have these bad experiences with JM. And, if you go there for a vehicle, make sure you ask for Anthony....you won't be sorry....

I had a great buying experience and everyone was very friendly at the dealership. Conrad was wonderful! He got me what I wanted and within my budget. Everything was explained in detail including all the wonderful options on my Jetta GLI. I had a lengthy drive home and the car drove like a dream. Very comfortable and built to last. Fast friendly dealership. The salesman are extremely accommodating and helpful. Much of my financing was explained to me in full. DARWIN CUNNINGHAM. He's the man I seen, fast and to the point. I was lied to twice by the finance guy and the lies were repeated to others so it is not a he said-she said situation. The first lie forced me into a car I can't afford and the second lie got me so upside down in this car that I cannot get rid of it. Make sure you check all your paperwork very carefully and don't listen to their lies, they are not honest.

Purchased my first Volkswagon Jetta TDI. Always wanted one because of great milage. Micah Killion pick my wife and myself up at the airport and took us to the dealership on his day off. Conrad Foster meet us at dealership and brought us to the show room to look at a Jetta. Bought the first one he showed us. Finished up paperwork but my wife Sarah didn't want to drive it back to Cuba mo since i flew our helicopter to columbia mo airport. So Conrad took us to the airport and had our Jetta brought to our house in Cuba mo the next morning. I flew there car driver back to columbia mo after he dropped off our car. It only takes 20 minutes to fly vs an hour and a half drive oneway. What great customer service. We are planning on buying a new SUV and it will be with this dealership. My wife and I had gotten a letter in the mail saying that joe Machens could offer us a nicer newer car at a better price we were very skeptical about weather they could deliver that or not with our credit being what it is the salesman Conrad Foster took our info looked at the car we had brought then came back with some options we were already interested in a 2013 vw Passat he took that and brought us out a 2015 Passat brand new we really didn't think we could afford it so we passed on the test drive to crunch some numbers he went above and beyond what i expected he worked really hard with great success to give us more than what we were originally were looking at then another surprise when we got to the finance department Jared Frierson and he informed us that he was able to sweeten the deal even more with a cheaper payment than we had just discussed with our sales rep which was great so to all like me that went to other dealerships and left with a bad experience please I strongly encourage you to give joe Machens in Columbia mo or any of their many dealerships in your area a chance it was truly a blessing to have my faith in dealerships restored if they can't make your experience pleasant and send you home in what you deserve than no one can Thanks again to my sales rep Conrad and all others involved in making my experience at Joe Machens Volkswagen by far the best that have ever had its hard to compete with excellence.

I recently purchased a 2012 Nissan Maxima from Anthony Heaper. I really was'nt planning on driving off with a car that day, However he made it possible for me to do so. He saved me money in the long run based on the HIGH interest rate I was paying on my current Vehicle. I really appreciated his honesty that day. I had my poker face on the entire time, but I was screaming with excitement inside the whole time while driving the car, and then taking it home was PRICELESS!!! Everyone was so professional at VW. We had a wonderful car buying experience with Conrad Foster. From first contact in August until purchase in December, he did a great job. Conrad was great at following up without overdoing it. He worked with us to get a good deal and addressed all the details of the purchasing process. We managed to get the red Beetle R-Line we wanted, but it took away the "Rudolph" (red car/nose) of the lineup of cars in the show room that were the Christmas reindeer. (Fear not, they had another red beetle to slide in its place.) All in all, Machens is a great place to buy a Volkswagen, and Conrad is a great person to work with to make the deal.

He was great to work with and the dealership worked hard to get me to drive two hours to deal with them.Follow up was great compared to Molle VW and Northtowne VW. Terence Felder was quick, precise, and fun to work with. That was the fastest and most enjoyable time I have ever spent in a finance office. Matt Smiley worked hard to get the numbers close to where I needed them and was friendly and upfront about how he arrived at the numbers. I would have given the dealership all 5 stars if it weren't for the sales desk manager that tried to get me to buy the car at a monthly payment around $160 more than what I had communicated with the dealership before and after my two hour drive and was told by the internet manager they could get the payment close to where I needed it and we had discussed some of the discounts and incentives. The sales manager tried to get me to buy the new Passat at full price and the lower end value on my trade. Playing games like that made me want to walk out. Then Matt Smiley came over and I dealt with him and we were able to negotiate good numbers and I understood where he was coming from with the numbers. If it hadn't of been for the initial numbers game I would have given 5 stars on everything. In the end I drove out with my new VW.

Leased a 2014 Passat earlier this year. They added a $2200 warranty into the contract without my knowledge. I didn't sign for it!! I never agreed to buy this warranty. Heck, I would have never used it as I didn't even know I had it. Now my monthly payments are way higher than what they should be. People here are really rude as well.GO ELSEWHERE! Also, my Passat has a ton of issues.

I recently traded my 2013 Dodge Charge R/T Hemi for a 2014 VW Jetta TSI. I was in need for a winter vehicle since the charger would get me nowhere! I was determined that I would not leave until I got a winter vehicle with great gas mileage and in my price range. We bought a vehicle that came with a 120 point inspection which was conducted by Joe Machens VW. Two weeks after our purchase the check engine light is on and the engine smells of oil so we took it to the mechanic at Joe Machens VW. The mechanic found several problems and asked us if anyone had explained to us that we would have to pay 50% of the fees. (The estimated total cost of repairs was between $800-1,000, not to mention that these "problems" should have kept the vehicle from passing inspection in the first place.) We had been told my our salesman that the dealership provided a 30 day/3,000 mile warranty on ALL of their vehicles, so we called customer service to find out why they were now saying 50/50. Our salesman said it was a "misunderstanding on his part", that they do have a warranty if they are under so many miles, but that our vehicle didn't fit that description, so we asked to talk to his manager. We found out the salesman had lied about the maintenance plan/warranty, yet the higher management offered no solution. We plan to take the vehicle to the Highway Patrol Inspection Station to see if they find any other flaws in the original inspection. In the meantime we have found another mechanic who can fix our issues for $200-300....talk about a mark up on prices at the dealership!!!!! WE VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS......we were treated so well as they tried to swoon us with their sales pitch but as soon as we bought our vehicle we weren't their concern anymore. Buyer beware!

Everyone I spoke with was very polite and not the "pushy salesman" you usually get. I am a young woman wanting to start a family in the near future looking for a safe, affordable, and spacious car to accommodate car seats and a 6'3" man is what lead me to the V.W. dealership parking lot. The salesman, Michael Helton, was so helpful to listen to what I needed and could afford etc. He managed to take my objectives I spoke about with him, grab a key, and pull up the brand new 2015 Passat to the front door that I drove home in that very same night! The car literally had everything I was expecting except the blind-spot helpers on the side mirrors, which he then called a third party to have the sticker type little mirrors delivered right then and there to be attached for me with no extra cost. The General Manager, Matt Smiley, as well as Josh Calvert in the parts department, all graciously talked to me making sure I knew exactly what I was getting with this deal and that I was satisfied. Going to the gas station only about once a month and having the oil changed after 10,000 miles instead of 4,000 just meant more and more savings. Having the knowledge from everyone was so helpful! Mike knew I was making a great decision and I am very pleased and glad I worked with him. Thank you!

The VW dealership allowed me to have a great car buying experience. One i had never imagined was possible. I was looking for something to give me better gas mileage for driving back and forth for work on my 40 minute commute. I didnt have much to work with in my budget as we already have payments on our other "family vehicle". I expected the salesman to be pushy, dishonest, and after thier bottom dollar. Instead, i was greeted by Micheal Helton, who treated me with respect and dignity, and clearly was looking out for my best interest. He found me a 2009 Toyota Rav 4 right in my price range (actually way better), with low mileage, and was in impressive interior and exterior condition. He let me test drive it over night, and called me the next day to see how i liked it. Micheal was very professional with all of the paperwork and business aspect of buying a car, and kept me comfortable by offering me any refreshments the establishment had to offer, and great conversation. Micheal has been very helpful even after the sale by helping me get an extra set of keys and making sure i am in love with the vehicle he sold me. He clearly cares about the clients he works with.

My wife and I recently converted from a Volvo family (S60 and XC90) to a VW family (Passat and Touareg). Brad Hellman was great to work with and very accommodating throughout the whole process as his hours are your hours (text, call, email...he is always going to reply to you in a very professional manner). He made sure to always be available for questions (we ask quite a few). Thanks Brad! He and the rest of the sales/management team understands the importance of building a customer base who lasts and feels comfortable coming back to them for future services, warranty, and purchases (accessories or another vehicle). The relationship is important to us and people like Jared and Matt McMahon made sure to take time to come over and welcome us during each visit. Jared and EJ understood the feeling of two parents trying to finalize paperwork with a cranky toddler who was ready for dinner and bed; the paperwork was ready to go upon our arrival. I am not a person who necessarily enjoys the car buying process, but our customer service experience from regularly scheduled maintenance (Passat) and initial conversations with Brad pointed us in the direction of working with this team to purchase our Touareg. I would recommend them to anyone looking to purchase a VW or another used vehicle as they are one of the top dealerships in the U.S. for several reasons other than just sales.

First off, my husband and I had been having a rather bad day. My husband had a 2004 VW Beetle we bought from another dealership used that they did not disclose to us until after purchase it had been in a front in accident, but at the time we were so desperate to need a reliable car and price was right so we got it and the extended warranty. For the last 2 year this car has cost us a fortune, but we never had the money to be done with it. Last, month the car was damaged by hail and now started to act up with the engine. My husband works as a Sgt. for the prison and last night as he got to work his car died so this day started at 11pm the night before. He had to push it in to work and find a ride home at 7 am. I was at work and had to get the day off at 9 a, find babysitters for the kids, and get the insurance company whom was unwilling to pay for the tow to the dealership that we thought we had a extended warranty at. When they finally got us a truck we had to just wait 3 hours for a tow truck, that took the car to his personal shop and told us he will get a diagnoses quickly because we were heading to the dealership to replace it. If it would cost to much to fix.Well in that short drive from Fulton to Columbia and the first few moments at the dealership, we found out a few things: 1. we had no warranty to cover this car it had expired 2 months ago 2. The tow man had no intent to get it off quickly and was not the nice person we thought and 3. that our hopes that the gap insurance would cover the car if the damage was more than it's value was way off cause it had to happen from theft or damage. Stephen greeted us with such kindness and so will to work with us even with the fact that we had no car to show him and fact that it was so damages. He worked with Mike his sales manger very close to find us car in our range, but that did not over extend us. He was dead on with the features and our needs. While he was helping us, the wonderful people who had recommended Stephen to us, our old neighbors were there as well needing to down size since they had suffered a big lose in their life a year ago. This day was the day of miracle works for the both of Mike and Stephen. Being the wife I wanted to see what we could do to get rid of my car too so my husband would never stuck again and hopefully we could avoid it happening to me too. Stephen was test drive with us and our neighbors whom I did really miss, so it was by beautiful chance we saw them. I had been calling the tow drive every few hours asking if he had anything because with out an idea of repair they could not make a reliable deal for us and I appreciated the honesty. This tow drive was the hold up for the whole day he closed at 5:30 and got the car at 11 am by 5:25 and after a lot of rude hang ups from him on me for calling he finally gives us a brief diagnostics. My husband had not slept all night and still had to go back to work that night. Finally after the tow guy finally gave the brief diagnostics we found out that we owned a $5000 hunk of metal and we were getting no help to escape. The original numbers scared me cause I still had in my head we are going to have to pay to tow the dead beetle to them, pay the repair man for the diagnostics, absorb the upside down from both cars, and try to find a down payment, and our payments were increasing by at least 70 a piece a month. I told them forget me just get my husband a car and I will deal. But Mike and Stephen were not going to let us suffer. After getting our friends such wonderful help and getting them free of their extra debate now they had to deal with us. After pushing and working it they made a deal that saved us. That may sound extreme but it is true. Try got us out of the debit of both cars, out of the tow, repair, and down payment billing. I have never had such a caring and helpful dealership. I will recommend this team to anyone who thinks that all sales person are only out to rip you off I can say. Come give them a try and they will give you a new look. Thank you Joe Machens, Stephen, and Mike. We could not be happier.

I have to come here to scream praises to the world about my sales experience with Joe Machens Volkswagen. I leased my new 2014 Passat from this dealer and the general manager came out and explained the numbers in a way to help me understand what I was getting and what was expected. Then I took a couple of days to think about it and my amazing sales man Anthony Heaper called me to see how I was feeling and if I had any more questions. Through him and his generl knowledge of the vehicle and his willingness to answer and or find the answer to all my questions,I am not the driver of one of the most comfortable cars on the market today! The service team here is awesome. From the desk to the techs, they make it easy to deal with any service issues on your VW. Have had to visit a few times on our used Tiguan for recall and warranty work...not to mention some cosmetic work done at the reconditioning center. I live in Sedalia and tried every dealership in this town. I could get no where with them. I then searched Volkswagen online and came in contact with Matt McMahon. I drove to Columbia and told Matt what I could do. After punching in some numbers, he found me a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. When I test drove the car, I fell in love with it. I was looking to buy a new 2013 Passat in the spring of 2013. My brother in law bought from Machens and said it was a great experience. Over the phone, I live in St. Louis, I attempted to make a deal with Alan Nichols. He was very nice, polite, and always returned my calls in a timely manor. I think he tried to get me a good price but his boss, Jonathan Wiest, just wouldn't let him. He apoligized and I bought from a dealer closer to home with a better price. Everytime, EVERYTIME I go to this dealership I feel so welcome and comfortable. The salesman are so very helpful and were wonderful showing me the different options in my budget. I looked at multiple cars and finally settled on one that I am in love with. I was able to get into a car a model year newer, FULLY loaded and kept my payments the same! Not only that, but Mr. Michael Vanella also recommended a local insurance man to help me lower my car insurance....and he sure did! CUT it in half. (Cody Thorne at Naught Naught) If you have had a bad experience at another dealership please give VW your business. They are not pushy at all and want to make sure you are 100% happy and 100% satisfied. I didn't have to go through a back and forth of the typical "let me see what we can do". All of my wishes were met. The atmosphere in the dealership is light and fun. All of the salesman are interacting with customers and each other in a way that doesn't look like they have any management to run and hide from. I cannot say enough good things about Mike Vanella and Joe Putnam. I am so thankful to have this dealership in Columbia.

I went on cars.com to get some information at an arms-length distance from the sales-people. I contacted to get more info and they were incredibly helpful and quick to answer questions. I was a little put off when we got into some confusion about which sales person would get the final sale. I ended up speaking with different people and I don't want to be involved in deciding who helped more, or was first. Deal with it during your morning meeting and leave the customer out of it. I think this applies even more to people who search through cars.com. They're looking for the easiest and most drama-free buying experience.

First, a bit about myself, at nearly 60 years of age I have owned around a 100 cars and about 40 of those in the last 15 years. Excessive, of course. But that's what car fanatics do. Cars can be bought anywhere, what can't be found is the expected and yet unexpected persona found at Machens VW. This comes from the core and that core is Mr Gary Drewing, the owner of Machens. Somehow he has been able to instill and inspire his staff to understand that getting customers to stop by once is the customers doing. Getting them to come back is on Machens. My hat is off to Mr Drewing....outstanding and darn impressive!!!!One of those clearly inspired or has the natural talent, and I think it's the later, is a gentleman by the name of Alan Nichols. It was a hot sweaty Saturday morning that I spontaneously pulled in to the VW store, ball cap and all. Out came a guy that greeted me like I had pulled in to have my car parked for me at the country club. I really had not stopped by to buy and car, but I love VW's and just wanted to have a closer look at the new Beetles. The fact that I drove in with a 1973 VW Thing caused more attention than I wanted, but hell, that's what I was driving that morning. Next thing I knew Alan and I were off for a short drive in a new Turbo Beetle. In the first 100 yards I knew I had to have one. So now I'm thinking, well hell, I am going to be here for awhile. And I was.Alan from the get go made me feel as if I were the only person that mattered that day. And over the course of the following two weeks we put together what I feel is the smoothest and most comfortable car purchase I have ever made. It was he 110% all the way either in person or on the phone that consistently handled every detail flawlessly. Thanks Alan!!!!!!!Mr Drewing, if you read this and I hope you do....you seem to be able to pull off just about anything in the car industry, but if you ever get around to cloning, look no further than Alan Nichols. I was looking to trade in my car for new car . I went to a dealership in the town i live in and spent all day there doing paperwork and looking, then waiting on finance department a sales manager came out and told me to take the car home for the weekend that i was looking at , and then he would call me monday morning to come sign papers . So I did this and come monday he called and said i needed to bring car back and talk to him. Well I didnt get the car they wanted 4000.00 down . So went to Joe Machens in Columbia in the afternoon and my salesman and the others even that wasn't working with me made me feel at home , very friendly and nice and polite . Then the Finance department ( so sorry i don't remember there name ) worked so hard and well needless to say me with not perfect credit drove off the lot in a nice 2013 car with 7 miles on it . I have told all my friends about my day there and even a few said they was going to go to Columbia to check them out !! Thank you so much , all of you . It was my first brand new car and a wonderful day , more than i ever expected .

Just want to say Im from out of town come there to work and had a blow out on my volkswagen cc needed a tire . Went to three or four different tire store s and no one had it in stock would have it in a day the cheepest one I found was 234 so i called machens and they had it and it was only 152 wow they took good care of me just want to thank them for all they did would go to them for everything if Im ever back in town Thaks Mark

I bought a new Volkswagen and I wish I could say it has been a fairy tell story, but unfortunately it hasn't. That being said the service department at Joe Machens is just truly exceptional. Everyone that works in the department (Jenn, Joe, JC, Drew) and I'm sure others, but these are the people that I know, are just great. I have never had this kind of service and support from any other dealer. Most dealers you have to struggle in order to be given a loaner car while yours is being worked on, but not here. Heck they let me keep it for a couple of weeks while the part was on order so I wouldn't have to keep driving back and forth to Columbia Since I live 40 minutes away. You just don't get this kind of friendliness and warm environment from any other car dealer. I know my situation with my car wasn't the best, but everyone in the service made the problem as painless as possible. Jenn worked extremely hard talking with Volkswagen in order to get my vehicle resolved and even went above and beyond what she really needed to do. She actually cares about you and your car and knows how much of a struggle it is sometimes when your vehicle is having problems. Jenn kept me up to date with anything that was going on with the vehicle. They put the customer first and these days that is getting to be more and more rare. I am so glad that my car situation is finally being resolved and it would have never turned out this well had I taken my car to another dealer. I highly recommend anyone to take their car to Joe Machens and have it serviced. I used to be afraid to take my car to a dealer to have something done to it. I mean I would go home and double check all their work, but now with this dealer I don't have to worry about because they are so careful with your vehicle. Give props to your cleaning crew because they do a pretty good job. Every time I got my car back, no matter if it was just their for an oil change, the car would be spotless inside and out. Joe and JC keep up the good work. You guys are very easy to talk to and the great thing is you all actually listen and care. Again thank you everyone who was involved in this process. GREAT JOB!!!!

Service was outstanding! We recently acquired a VW Beetle and since we live in a small town with out a VW dealer we chose Joe Machens VW, mind you we are an hour from Columbia or an hour from Kansas City. I have worked for a few dealers and can tell you without a doubt, this dealership goes above and beyond for their customers. They determined it was going to take a little longer than they thought to program our new remotes and cut the new keys so they offered us a loaner car, usually these cars are pre-owned and are just a car, but not here! They gave us a 2013 Passat with all options and only 1100 miles on it! Joe Gamblain (Service Adviser) was very knowledgeable and friendly, he explained the other things they found wrong and gave us different options. We decided to come back in a few weeks to have the remainding items done.Today my husband called to setup our appointment, Joe thought they could get it done in one day but if not offered us a car to take home and they would deliver our car to us when done! I have never had a delear offer anything close! I would recommend Joe Machens VW!!!
