Now I have been to the Chevy Dealerships in Petoskey, Traverse City, Ann Arbor and now Dexter and let me tell you I had the absolute best experience at this location in Dexter. Mr. Eric Butler is the Service Advisor that helped me and I can't tell you how positive my experience was. He was so nice!! Want a rental car,? no problem. He put me in the brand new 2019 Chevy Equinox and let me tell you when someone puts you in a brand new car with 225 miles on it that tells you they care. I will never go anywhere else. We were treated with kindness and respect. Was fair priced also. I wish I knew who the mechanic was that worked on my car so I could give him a shout out too, but seriously my car runs better than when I bought it. Thanks Chevy in Dexter!

Brandon Beebe was great - very good customer service and helped to get us into our new car as quickly and easily as possible. The LaFontaine Chevrolet dealership in Dexter MI is staffed by friendly, knowledgeable, efficient employees, who always great me with a smile and an offer to help from the car porters through to the cashier at the end of the appointment. I happened to be there some time in January 2016 and watching them take down the Xmas tree was very entertaining. The location is very nice offering a chance to head into town or around the small adjacent shopping area. The dealership grounds are always well kept and cars beautifully displayed. Inside the building is even better. If staying for the service visit, the lounge is roomy, well appointed and comfortable. The attention to detail in providing me information about the service being preformed and any other items I may know be aware of gives me confidence in driving my car knowing its in good running condition and safe. They take the time to explain all the service completed to be sure I understand and am satisfied with what they have done.

The negotiations were a waste of time, the dealership is unorganized, and the person I spoke with to finalize the transaction when the negotiations were over was pretty rude. Jason at the Dexter dealership brought a car in from Commerce, so I went in appreciative of that-- but that's where the good experience stopped. In case you don't have time to read the whole review: we would only ever come back to any LaFontaine Group dealership as a last resort. Our salesperson went back and forth about small amounts of money (we're talking the amount you might negotiate regarding a TV). The car started $1000 over exact comparables at area dealerships, which we could verify. They ultimately almost lost a cash sale over $800, and only agreed to our offer when my husband read them the riot act. I went in with a friend at first, and they would barely budge off list price (I walked away after they wouldn't negotiate). They then refused the cash offer I called back with, which I made clear was the best we would do. That's okay-- car negotiations are like that. But then they called back hours later, offering another tiny amount off the price they had already offered earlier. It was like getting nickel and dimed in reverse. The car was overpriced to start with, the negotiations were terrible, and the coordination between the LaFontaine Groups was unorganized.We were told we could pick up the car and sign paperwork one day, and, after waiting for a while when we got there, we were told we would actually have to come back another day.Adam from LaFontaine Subaru in Commerce finalized details over the phone with me, and was pretty rude (hung up on me when he had to call and check a detail with Jason in Dexter). When I came to sign paperwork, it was unorganized and I even got a receipt with the wrong person's name on it. I received zero follow up after we finally got the car. This experience was disappointing at best, and reflects poorly on the LaFontaine Group as a whole. It seemed like the Subaru group dropped the ball a lot, and the Dexter dealership handled pretty much all of our transactions in an unprofessional way. Jason was pleasant enough, but that can't make up for an experience this bad. We will only come to a LaFonatine dealership as a last resort.

My wife and I were shopping for a used corvette for me and leased Buick Enclave replacement for my wife. Jason was able to secure the Enclave we wanted through Lafontaine Buick (when another dealer was struggling to secure what we wanted) and I ended up buying a beautiful 2016 Z51 Sting Ray. Jason was great to work with, whether researching what other dealers had available or the plus/minus of the various Vette's Lafontaine had available and also tracking down the perfect Enclave. I recently leased a new silverado through this dealership and probably had one my best ever car buying experiences. I recently bought a used car from this dealer and my experience was exceptional. When I arrived, I was eagerly greeted by Jason Nabozny. He was really nice and very patient, he never once seemed like he was trying to push me into anything. Jason was there to help me in what I needed, he is a really nice salesman. I have never had an experience with a salesman like this before. I am an older person and have bought many cars over the years, never have i met some one so willing to go out of his way to help me. He was courteous and polite and he wasn't pushy. Typically, you get a salesperson who is eager to sell you and once they do, they are less than eager from that point forward. Jason Nabozny was not like that at all. He was so helpful to me and making sure that I had everything that I needed and he made sure to spend the time with me to explain everything about the car. My wife could not make it that day and he even offered for me to bring back to the dealership at our convenience to go over stuff with her as well. This was the first time that me or my family have ever bought anything from LaFontaine, and with our experience, we will be back. I cannot tell you how appreciative i was to be treated so well by the staff and Jason.

Well i loved this dealership until two days ago. I came in to get my oil changed and had the worse experience EVER! They quoted me a two hour wait which i was okay with because I did not have an appointment BUT when they told me they only had one kid working so he was behind and it was too hard to get good help i was floored. when i pulled in three guys were just sitting there on there phones two of the guys being behind the counter and one being a porter. A gentlemen with the LaFontaine name telling me all this about not finding good help. So was everyone up front too good to go help this poor guy in the back working his butt off while everyone else was up front on there cell phones? Does this company approve of over working another whiles others refuse to help another? Makes no sense to me. I felt so bad for the guy working out back I felt and will not be coming back to that service department or probably buy another vehicle. I know Senior Lafontaine would not approve of how this service department is being run. Get off your cell phones and go help someone struggling!

On my most recent purchase Robert had tracked down 3 specific vehicles that I was looking for and had them brought into Dexter so I could test drive. This guy goes out of his way to make sure you get what you want, he doesn't push cars on you like some other sale person that I wont mention from another dealership..... He took the time to put me in the vehicle wanted and 2 days after I got it I got a text from him asking how everything was. You don't get that type of personal service from just anyone. We have had the car in for repairs twice in the past 2 weeks. The car was burning oil, which was all warranty work. Jason was fantastic, set us up in a dealer car since they had the car more than two days. Though I was a bit frustrated that I did mention the car has a whistle or whining sound when running. This did not get addressed in the repair for the oil issue, which meant bringing the car back a week later.This repair was for the air compressor. I was not happy with the price of the repair and Jason worked with us, and we got the cost cut in half.My husband and I were not as happy when we went to pick up the car. We had to hunt our car down in the parking lot. Jason told us it was washed, which it wasn't. I am super happy Jason assisted us and was able to help in cost.

As I was getting into my car at a neighboring business, I realized my rear tire was hissing and had a nail in the tire tread. I knew I would not make it very far before it would be completely flat. I do not drive a Chevy and was not even sure if this dealership would fix a tire but decided to pull in the service center. Upon arrival, I mentioned I did not have an appointment but the staff remained very friendly and the team worked to get my car in right away. Within 45 minutes, I was out the door with my tire fixed and couldn't believe how inexpensive the repair was. Appreciate the great staff and service excellence they provided, especially on a busy Friday morning. Would recommend this dealership for service to anyone!

I was in the market for a new Chevy and set to work making phone calls. Honestly, purchasing a vehicle is not usually a pleasant experience! After setting up an appt. with a nearby dealership, I set out to bring home a new Equinox. Unfortunately, this was one of those unpleasant experiences! Disappointed, I again grabbed the phone & started over. Long story short, I was fortunate enough to make the right call - to Jim Nuttal! Not only did he find the exact vehicle the other dealership promised, but he beat their deal and then some! I never felt pressured and he worked quickly. I went to 3 other dealers looking for a truck, it wasn't until I went to Lafontaine Chevy that I was pleasantly surprised that Bryan was able to find the truck I was after. Advertise truck as an SLT, was an SLE, Said they made an honest mistake. Still advertised weeks later as SLT. I would accept that it was a honest mistake as long as they fixed the mistake. Was given a coupon to bring down price from their advertised price. The coupon was worthless. The price with the coupon was the same as the advertised price.

As a long time GM purchaser, I have dealt with many dealerships in the past, and thankfully, I found Lafontaine Chevy in Dexter just this past week. (As well as Lafontaine Buick in Ann Arbor) Many times, as a female, I haven't always gotten the respect I deserve when dealing with sales people. I am very knowledgeable about cars, and it's rare to find a sales person that knows as much as I do about the different models on their lot. Dealing with these two Lafontaine dealerships to find the right car, at the right price, was sooooo very easy, The sales people are very knowledgable, friendly, and they don't try to push something at you that you don't want, just to make a sale. I felt that they actually cared about doing a good job for the customer and I couldn't have asked for better people to,work with. I dont Remember the name of the man that valued my trade at the Buick dealership, but he was pretty awesome too. I worked with David Bozak at Lafontaine Buick in Ann Arbor, and Robert Halfacre at Lafontaine Chevy in Dexter. My experience with both was so unlike any of the other GM dealers in the area. I have a feeling Lafontaine has somehow recruited the best of the best to work at their dealerships. Everyone from the concierge department, to the men that valued my trade were EXCEPTIONAL! The only problem I have with either dealership was that I didn't find them sooner!!!

I found a Jeep online that I was looking for and emailed for a price since it was not listed. I waited for 2 days and there was still no response. I then emailed them again and just asked for a price. They emailed back asking for a time to call them or for them to call me. I again only asked just for a price please. They never responded back. I emailed Kelley LaFontaine for help and asking for a price. I never received a response. I was finally able to get a price online about a week later. I left a review online for facebook which they wanted me to email them at Feedbackatlafontaine.com, I believe, and I explained my situation an nothing. 3 weeks later I received a follow up email asking if I would still like to come in and test drive the Jeep. Really? Three weeks later. Never would I do business with this company and would never recommend anyone to buy here. Find your vehicle somewhere else that cares and is honest up front. They are not.

The service counter was responsive and quick to fit me in for my oil change. Just an observation; I've been to the dealership several times in the last year. I think it's fair to say that every time I've used the bathroom, the urnials are unflushed. I would like to think that it's the auto-flush that is not operating correctly. Either way, it's kind of gross.

Calvin Cupitt Jr. is by far one of the rudest salesman I have ever come across. I made an appointment to test drive a vehicle and when I get there, he tells me the car isn't even at their site(his mistake), tells me to wait till Monday and it would be there. Monday comes and I receive no call from him telling me to come in. After I let him know later that day that I would be in at a certain time to test drive it he forgets and leaves the office. When it was all said and done we couldnt agree on a price(which is fine, it happen) but he calls me up on my cell phone a couple hours later while I am at my house with family and brags about how the car was sold to another family and how I missed out on his "great price" and that I would NEVER BE ABLE TO FIND ANOTHER CAR AS NICE. He was extremely rude to my wife and didn't even want to talk to her. Terrible service, I do not recommend this place to anyone.

When I called to make my appointment I told them on the phone that I wanted the family deal oil change, which had been 9.95 for years. The person making the appointment just happily made the appointment and never mentioned that this promotion had been discontinued. When I brought my car in and got it all checked in I was presented with the estimate showing a total of around $33. (more than 3 times the price I was expecting). If I would have known that it was going to be this pricey I would have changed my own oil. I felt mislead but by that point you already had my car so I just paid it, that said I will not be having you change my oil in the future. I understand that the price of everything is going up these days, but I wouldn't expect the price to more than triple, and worse I would not expect to not be notified about it when I called and referenced the old promotion.

Got to dealership an hour before closing on a Saturday. Truck could not be fixed until Monday. Got me a loaner and out the door within 30 minutes. Called Monday before noon to advise truck was fixed. I was not told that oil changes had gone up or that tire rotation were now part of the oil change (why would I have rotated my tires the day before in my driveway? I bought a chevrolet in may only because of the oil change being 19.95. PSmy son brought my other car in 2 days prior and no one made any statement of the price increase. That car had the 2 year of free oil changes.

I never owned a GM vehicle and thought I never would until I drove a family member to Lafontaine to drop off their paperwork. I was kind of giving the salesman a hard time and jokingly asked him if he thought he could convert me from my current car to a GM. He said he'd like to try so the bet was on. Since my current lease was about up I was already looking for a mid size SUV and had another make and model in mind. The salesman, Tony began talking to me about a new Equinox and by the time I left I was interested. My husband and I talked about it that night and decided to talk to 2 other dealers and see what they had to say about similar vehicles. One came no where near the pricing Tony was quoting and the other vehicle just wasn't as nice as the Equinox I had seen so I went back to Lafontaine and asked Tony to give me all the details of a new lease and what exactly were the benefits they were going to offer. I have to say he blew me out of the water with the final deal. They gave very good pricing and the benefits were beyond anything I expected. I literally just dropped my old vehicle off, signed the new documents and drove off in a beautiful new car. I will be back again and I will highly recommend this salesman and dealership to all my friends, family. Thank you Tony and Lafontaine!

I was interested in a used car on this dealerships lot. I talked to the sales department and they sent me a few pictures of the vehicle (no problem at this point). After texting the saleperson that I would like to come by, he mentioned the vehicle may not be there and he would have to check on it. He texted me after I commited to my drive home from work that the vehicle was there and when I had planned to come by, I told him I was not going to make it until Thursday (being Monday). He then texted a nasty gram that I will not document, and said he had to pull the vehicle from the other facility..... Not sure why he did not call me and explain the situation, because it would have save him a sale. Just bought my new to me car from another dealership... sucks to be him.

I had been saving up a growing list of minor but annoying warranty issues with my Cruze for almost two years, and I simply hadn't addressed them because I didn't have a dealer I could trust to complete the repairs. I was less than impressed with my original selling dealer early on and have chosen never to return there. LaFontaine was recommended to me by a friend and fellow Cruze owner, who had his car serviced here as well. As I approached the three year and 36k mile mark, knowing that my repairs would involve a lot of work, I decided to give them a shot. I'm so glad I did! Dan was awesome to work with- he understood what I was saying, never once criticized my knowledge of my car (unlike so many other dealers), and we were able to have a good discussion on what exactly needed to be done. I left the drop off appointment with a high confidence that they would address everything on my list as if it was their own car, and they did exactly that. Dan also followed up with daily status updates until the car was ready, which was VERY much appreciated! Kurt Kuehne, the tech assigned to the job, did a good job in making sure everything was reassembled correctly and that all issues were addressed. Also, thanks to Heather Norman for following up to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. The high quality experience I had with this visit has made me a LaFontaine customer for life, and I will most definitely pass along the recommendation!

My GMC Sierra fuel gauge was not working, I was on vacation out of state, took the vehicle to 2 different shops one of which was a Chevy dealership and they could not fix it. I brought it the Lafontaine in Dexter and they were able to diagnose and repair the problem promptly! Not only did they fix the problem they fixed the other shop and dealership's poor workmanship!

We traveled over eight hours one way to buy a GM certified suburban from this dealer. On our way home we discovered items that were not working that should have been discovered during the GM certification. We contacted the dealer right away while still on the road and we were told "because it was GM certified we could take it to our home dealer for repair and repair would be covered". This turned out to be a complete lie. We again contacted the dealer and were brushed off. Very disappointed with willingness to stand behind their product.

I have bought three cars from LaFontaine in Dexter MI and have taken all my vehicles to their service department for every type of service needed for the past 5 years. Up until the last 2 months I would have recommended them but recently they have provided poor service and just tried to get every sent they could out of me. I recently took over my grandmothers car, a 2003 Impala with 55,000 miles on it. About 2 months ago it was making a noise like there was a loose belt. I called and asked them to determine what was wrong with the car. They informed me it would be $100+ to determine what was wrong and if I chose to fix it there they would apply the +$100 towards the cost of the repairs. They called me an hour later and told me it needed a new serpentine belt and it would be $560 to repair it. I spoke to many others and they said that is an extremely high cost but I chose to do it because at this point, I trusted LaFontaine. When I got there the actual bill was almost $580 dollars and it took them over 25 minutes to bring me my car. Finally I asked what is taking so long to get my car. They informed me that the car was double parked and they couldn't get it out. They finally brought it to me and said that they had to really manuever it around another car. When I got home, I saw a huge scratch all the way down the passenger side of the car and a huge paint chip out of the passenger side mirror. I immediately called the service manager and left him a voicemail. He did not call me back so the next day, I called again and they told me to bring it in. A few of the service employees looked at the scratch and acted as if they did not do it and I said that was not there before and it needs to be fixed. They kept it over night and did absolutely nothing to repair the scratch or the paint chip at all. I left very frustated and still have a huge scratch and gouge on my car. Then last week, I called and asked for the same car to get an oil change because the engine light was on and I thought that may have something to do with it. I went in to the service counter, the guy who waited on me did not greet me, didn't say hello, didn't even smile at me. He asked me my name, I said I am getting an oil change because the engine light is on. (Remember the car has 55,000 miles on it.) He asked me to sign a paper which I sign a paper every single time I go in there for any service including just an oil change. When we went back 1 hour later, they tried to charge us for a $30 oil change (up from 9.99) and another $120 for them to determine why the engine light is on. I said I am not paying that, you did not inform me that an oil change would be almost $200. They rudely said "you signed for it". I said the man who waited on me, did not say a single word to me or inform me that I would have an additional charge because of the engine light being on. He again was so rude and said, I am not dealing with this, fine, I will just take the cost off. We paid for the $30 oil change and left. We went to the local autoparts store where we were informed us that they will hook any car up to the same computer to determine why warning lights are on for free anytime. We also reviewed the list of things LaFontaine said our car needed with another mechanic. LaFontaine quoted our car to need $1080.12 worth of service. The other mechanic recommended we go buy a $8 dollar gas cap with a new seal so we did and the car is running perfect with no warning lights on anymore. So bottom line, LaFontaine service department was completely rude and would not return calls, tried to get $1600 dollars out of me (actually did get $600 from me) when the total cost of repairs to the car should have cost less that $200, and completely ruined the passenger side of my car by scratching and chunking the paint off and refuses to repair it. I have a brand new Equinox that is supposed to get 2 years of free oil changes from LaFontaine but honestly I don't trust them to provide honest and ethical service any more. I will not buy another car from La Fontaine which is a shame because we have worked with the same sales people for years and really thought they were great. Sharon Stephens

He was very supportive and helpful to my making a decision that was right for me. I loved my previous Malibu and knew that I wanted to get another if I could and Jim really gave me all of the information and assistance that I needed to make this decision. Oil change on a vehicle we dropped off was done before it's scheduled appointment time, however car was not washed. Other dealers wash vehicles after service.Second vehicle was in for a factory recall (ignition switch) and oil change. That took entirely too long to complete, my son waited over 1.5 hours - for an oil change and to add a shim to a key! Really? You should have given us a coupon or voucher for a free oil change. Plus you did not wash that car either.. Because you are close to our home we came to your dealership to try out your service department and you failed. I will not return and my family owns five Chevrolets. BTW - your phone system sucks, is that a main dispatch number for all of your Lafontaine dealerships? It sure appeared to be, the women at the courtesy desk phone didn't even know the name of your service reps.

Oil change and Tire Rotation went well and was timely. Service Rep was very helpful in identifying an issue with my tailgate not dampening properly. He compared my tailgate with the one on his truck to see the difference. A part was order to correct it but to date have not heard back on this. This is a little disappointing. The customer lounge is state of the art. One of the few I have seen were you don't mind waiting.

I got interested in a Volt as gas prices are down and a new model was coming out, so I expect the GM would be wanting to move the older models. It talked to the closest dealer and felt pressured to act but not numbers close to those advertized. My next try was through the Costo Auto Program which got me in contact with La Fontaine. When I went in, I worked with Robert Halfacre, who was thorough, patience, well versed. It took a couple hours to find the right car and the best terms. This was the first time I've leased so had a lot questions, which he answered.When I came in a couple days later, he had everything prepared and we quickly went through the paperwork. I was out in 40 minutes including a run through of features.What I really appreciate with Robert was, he listened to what I was looking for and didn't try to sell me anything else. There was none of the "I have to check with the sales manager" song and dance, nor at the closing, any "oops there's an extra charge" tricks. It was the best car buying experience I've had.

I bought a used Cadillac from them they advertised that everything was OK on it. I test drove and everything seemed to be OK. I couldnt test some features due to weather. They told me if I had any problems with it to just call or bring it back. When weather got better, I noticed that the moonroof wouldn't open. There was a huge rip in carpet covered by the floor mat. The car leaks when raining or washed in car wash. There is a need for 2000.00 were the repairs. I hate this dealer and I am considering suing them right now. I have already called my lawyer.

I made an appointment three weeks prior to the service date to have a left front strut replaced. Unfortunately, on the day of the appointment, I was informed that no part was available. No apology or reason was provided. Attempting to schedule another appointment resulted in more frustration. I was told by a service technician that he would call to schedule and appointment after "researching" the problem - half a day later and still no resolution. So, to recap, despite making the appointment well in advance, the part was not available, I still have no resolution as to when another part will be available. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I've bought a few cars through the years and I can honestly say that our Salesman, Steve Azar, is probably the best salesman I've ever had. He is the reason why I'm giving a 5 star rating to LaFontaine Chevy, Through each step of our buying process, Steve truly seemed to want give us the best buying experience and genuinely wanted to make sure we were happy. In fact, after the we had purchased the used vehicle, the 2 remotes that we received was not fully functional. Inexplicably, LaFontaine Chevy or Chevy has a policy that would only cover one of the remotes and we would have to pay for a fully functional second remote. Steve recognized my dissatisfaction, and before I even had a chance to express my disappointment, Steve had purchased the second remote out of his own pocket. Again, his concern for my satisfaction throughout the process is why I had a positive experience...and why I am giving a 5 star rating.

All the employees are very helpful and friendly. They will share which work needs done on your care, but they do not try to push you to have it done. I have been going to this dealership for new vehicles, repairs and oil changes for the past 20 years and have never had a bad experience. The LaFontaine group is obviously very serious about customer service. I have purchased many GM vehicles over the years (15 total) and have never been treated so well. The staff are highly professional and the service is top notch.I was having difficulty locating the exact vehicle I wanted; a 2015 Chevrolet Suburban LTZ. After giving up on another dealership I chose LaFontaine. We found an exact match to what I was looking for and they delivered it to my house the next day. Incredible!The next day I made an appointment at LaFontaine Cadillac GMC in Highland Twp. to get the windows tinted and have some accessories installed. I love this place! Spotless service area, a salon, a high end coffee shop and even a cafeteria. What?! Jeff the service guy was great and double checked everything so the vehicle was perfect when I got it back. Dave Schlum, the sales person from this location is who helped me find the vehicle and he even came by to check it out too.Seriously, I won't go anywhere else in the future. These people are the best.

Jerry Porzadek was a pleasure to work with, he brought the car to our house for delivery. He acquired the vehicle my wife wanted from another dealership when your stock did not meet her parameters. He dealt with my wife the entire time and treated her respectfully and never made her feel like she was a 'stupid female' or 'needed her husband's permission'. I got the $9.95 oil change today. When they were done, they did not give me their free 27 point inspection, they did not give any sheet that explains what they done to my car like they advertised. They didn't even give me the sticker that reminds me of my next oil change... When I asked them about it, all they said was, "we are out of it"... I don't understand how a dealership can be out of stickers for reminded the next oil change and the sheets that they print for inspections... They are Extremely unprofessional and not helpful. They did not offer to help me out in anyway. I used to tell everyone about your dealership, but after my experience I am planning on telling how unprofessional this place is.

My check engine light came on druing a short trip to town on a Saturday morning, so I drove directly to LaFontaine Service, thankful that they were open on Saturdays. My car was looked at right away and repairs were scheduled for Monday morning - and I was assured that I could safely drive my vehicle until then. On Monday morning my vehicle was taken into for work and I was given a ride home - I was called later with info about what was being done and when to expect it to be completed. All very helpful in planning my time during the busy holiday week.

I just wanted to share with you my experience at La Fontaine Dexter location: The morning I woke up receiving a call to come out and look at the 2009 Chevy Malibu, it was from a gentleman by the name of Mike Law. He was very welcoming and polite over the phone. When I pulled up to the dealership I met with him in his office where he greeted me and got the keys for a test drive. The test drive itself was rather pleasant and I enjoyed the little bit of conversation Mike had done on the drive. When we got back we once again went into his office where we waited close to three or four hours for a bank loan. I realize having little to no credit, it was going to make this a little difficult. Once we where able to get my cosigners information everything seemed to run a little more according to plan. He even offered me a warranty on the car and some kind of insurance that covers the gap of money the car insurance won't pay if I get into an accident. The only thing was-was that I needed to get the paycheck stubs of both mine, and my cosigners. That required the drive from dexter to brownstown than to inkster to allen park to brownstown back to dexter, taking a total of three hours. I told Mike my concern of the time and that I had a difficult time with directions (My internal GPS is gone). He reassured me that it wouldn't take nearly as long as I thought it would and that I could even drive the new car since I had insurance that covered me as a driver! I was all for it. The drive took just as long as I thought it would, and by the time I got back it was five minutes to close. By this time Mike had called me twice, as I had graciously apologized for the amount of time it had taken me. When I got back it seemed like Mikes attitude had completely changed. He was no longer as friendly as he had been before. He had told me that there was an issue with one of the paycheck stubs not showing year to date and that he already had two people who had offered him money for the car. He informed me that the only way I could drive the car home is if I had insurance on the car. So I preceded to inquire about insurance prices so I could take home my brand new (used) car. The whole time we were sitting in his office he was on his phone and when he wasn't in his office he was outside talking to co workers. I felt like I was just irritating him and that he had something better to do. Granted, I have worked in retail, I know what its like to just want to get home after close. But it is YOUR JOB to make the customer feel like you will do anything in your power to make them feel welcome instead of a burden. Finally a friend of mine (Not Mike) recommended AAA, who finally gave me a deal I could afford (By this time Mike was in the office playing on his phone giving hand signals of what to say to get a cheaper rate). I felt so glad that I could finally go home. Once I got the proof of insurance it was time to go. Mike hurried us out, got the paper out of the window of the car (Leaving that sticky residue behind), and drove off. The following Monday, I had a shift spring up on me at work that I did not plan on, and decided to tell Mike that if worst came to worst I could just bring him the paperwork the next day (Monday between 2 and 2:30 was the only time that was good for the cosigner and I to get together, however, I had to work at 2), he proceeded to tell me that that would definitely not work. My only other option was to miss the beginning hours of work. So I did. I honestly have to say that the gentleman who delivered our paper work was so much more friendlier than Mike ever was. Customer service after the sale was disfunctional. I had a small issue with the salesman offering me 6 months on serius and onstar when buying my vehicle. The dealership refused to honor the agreement. They went so far as to blame me for not knowing GM's used car rules. Overall they need some serious rework on dealing with customers. All of this over abot $70.00 on a $28,000 vehicle. I am taking my business to Chelsea Chevrolet.

I called the service dept. at 4:30 because my brakes on my Equinox were making a noise, They told me to bring it right in, I did within 30 minutes and it turned out to be nothing but I was impressed with the speed at looking at my equinox and the fast service. My first experience at La Fontaine was for service on my Chevrolet Impala. I knew it was a great dealership because the service advisor Jason was welcoming and courteous. He made sure that my car was repaired correctly. On another occasion, I had to bring my car in again. This time Nick was my service advisor. Once again I was welcomed and received great timely service. When it was time to purchase a new vehicle, I decided to use La Fontaine. My salesman, Robert Halfacre, was perfect. He did not try to rush the sale. He was careful to listen to my exact car needs. When the car was delivered, he took a great deal of time to be certain that I understood the various options and how to operate them. He is a friendly person and I felt that I could trust that he would stand behind anything that he had promised. After a week owning the vehicle, I had trouble syncing my phone to my Equinox. I stopped in the dealership without an appointment and Robert was willing to make himself available to help with the problem.. He took time to be sure it was right. He had said "any time you need anything I am here for you". Those were not just empty words. I feel that I can trust Robert. He is an outstanding individual. Also, when I was completing the deal and needed to set up finance, I met with Steve Taylor. He is a very warm individual who explained several options available to me. I felt extremely comfortable when I completed the deal. Robert Halfacre is a sales person at the dealership and I first met him when I was shopping for a vehicle in 2011. He is a very friendly person and doesnt try to ressure you into buying. He answeres all the questions you have and that is the reason my wife and I purchased a pickup and a Malibu in 2011. My son was looking for a vehilce and after seeing what we thought was a good vehicle on Sunday afernoon. We went to the dealer and I met Robert coming in and told him we were looking for a vehicle and he looked at 3 vehicles, he explained them to us and then let us drive the vehicles. He explained the best one would be the malibu and we told him we wanted it and he got the paper work down right away and we could of gotten it then but we wanted to pick it up on Wednesday and he stated it would be ready then. We got there and everything was ready to go. Everytime Im there for LOF he always speakes and asked how we are. He treats you as though you were part of the family, Anytime I need another vehicle I will only deal with Robert delivering the vehicle he explained how everything in the vehicle works. He is a GREAT person to deal with

Mike was very helpful in getting me all the available rebates possible and answered every question I had. Not to mention I had him run the numbers 10 different ways and was willing to run them 20 if I wanted to. He even offered to have the new car delivered to my work so I wouldn't need to drive to his side of town. Customer service was a 10.

I had actually been referred to another dealer by Costco, but felt as though they weren't working with me at all. And I had visited a second dealer completely on my own with an even worse experience from the first. Robert and the crew at Lafontaine in Dexter made me feel completely at home. They did their best to find what I wanted and what fit my budget. Robert made suggestions from what was in their inventory and offered to search other dealer inventory if needed. I never felt like I was left waiting for no reason, everything was explained clearly and upfront. There was no pressure to buy and I didn't feel like I was held hostage. Other dealers would take my keys, registration, or insurance certificate and I wouldn't get them back until I asked for them when I wanted to leave. I can't say enough good things about Robert Halfacre and the whole gang at LaFontaine Chevrolet in Dexter. They go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family and not just another sale.

I hate car shopping and have had bad experiences in the past at other dealerships, so I really didn't feel like dealing with it, even though we really needed a car bad. I answered the phone and was very up front with him about our situation and asked him to be up front with me as well. He asked if we wanted to come in, so we did. Three hours later, we drove home our new(used) car. It was the least painful car buying experience I have ever had. Mike was honest, he new his business, so when we asked questions, there was no deceit, just up front answers. I appreciated that and our entire experience. We were very pleased overall with our experience at LaFontaine Chevrolet in Dexter, MI. Our salesperson, Robert Halfacre, was just wonderful. He was totally committed to helping us find the car we wanted and went to every extreme to make sure that we received all the discounts possible to get the best price for us. He was truly sincere and we at no time felt that he was pushy or just trying to make a sale. I was impressed with the album on his desk, "About me". That sold me on trusting him. Also, each time we came to the dealership we felt welcomed by each person whom we encountered. The young woman who filled out our financing papers was also very helpful and knowledgable about the process and made it very easy to complete. Ron is the best salesman. He works very hard to get the exact car you want. I am very picky in my choice of my options. Ron got me all that I requested. He took the time to go through all the bells and whistles on the car. He also explained all additional maintenance programs that I might be interested for my car. He worked hard to get me an excellant price, plus several rebates that helped lower the price. We have brought (and leased) many cars from Ron, and gone back to him for many years. The dealership also has an excellant service department. Excellant prices, fast services and friendly professional mechanics.

Misty hustled and found I qualified for an employee discount because my late father worked for GM. The other dealer didn't know of the program. La Fontaine found a truck I wanted and saved me thousands. The other dealers wanted to match the price after the fact. This truck was $6000 less than the Ford dealer quoted me for a comparable vehicle. La Fontaine wanted to sell a truck . I don't know what the Ford guy was doing. The financing was very good as well. If you need a vehicle it is worth your time to see Misty Gautz.Lon Ullmann.

I had had the same car for way too long. It had gotten to a point that I was being nickled and dimed just to continue operating it. One morning during my drive to work in rush hour traffic, a loud crack, snap, and clunk that wouldn't go away let me know that it was no longer safe to drive. A friend had recommended I visit Andrew Hatch at LaFontaine in Dexter. He had given me Andrew's cell phone number and told me that I could trust him with whatever I needed in regards to my car search. I was tired of feeling pressured, uneasy, unsure, and left with lots of questions at other dealerships I had been to in the past. So I called. I have to mention that I called Andrew early in the morning, BEFORE he was even at work. I told him that I had an important meeting that day and that I needed to find a car that I liked, could afford, and could drive off the lot same day so I could make my meeting. He was so nice and accommodating and told me he would be ready and waiting to help me find exactly what I wanted. Since I hadn't planned on going car shopping, I didn't even know where to start. Andrew asked the right questions to narrow down my search. He then patiently waited as I test drove car after car trying to determine which was the best one for me. He answered all the questions I had and was always honest and straightforward, even if the answer wasn't what I wanted to hear. I really appreciated that because it's an honesty that is rarely found when car shopping. He wasn't just trying to sell a car or collect a paycheck. He was really getting to know me and was focused on making sure that I was happy and satisfied. I'm not someone who rushes into things, so even though I was in a hurry to make my end of day meeting, I took my time at the dealership. Andrew spent nearly the entire day with me and helped me finally decide on a 2013 Chevy Malibu Eco. I was afraid it would be out of my price range, but Andrew helped me there too. He got me a great deal, worked with the finance department to get me an incredible rate, and put the payments right in my affordable range. But the best part of the service that he provided wasn't the fact that he did all these things, or that he took the last 30 minutes I was there to explain all the gadgets and gizmos in the car. It's the fact that it has been about 2 weeks since I bought my car, and I've called and contacted him no less than 4 times with more questions---things that happen that I want answers to, or questions I forgot to ask when I originally purchased. Andrew is always available and happy to help me. And he assures me I'm not being bothersome. He is passionate about cars and wants to make sure I really enjoy mine. I have never been happier with a car purchase or a dealership than I am with Andrew and all the folks at LaFontaine. I will NEVER go anywhere else...Andrew and LaFontaine will ALWAYS have my business, now and many years into the future.

We have purchased from this dealership in the past and had a wonderful experience. So we did not hesitate to contact them again for a new vehicle. Since our previous salesperson is no longer with the company we decided to start with there website. While looking over the website we were asked if we needed any assistance. After chatting with online person we had a better idea of what vehicle we were looking for and decided to fill out the finance application. After three days of no contact from the dealership I decided to go back online. I was looking to see if there was any information on the status of our application and a phone to contact the dealership. Once again the customer service rep came on and I explained that we wanted to purchase a vehicle and had already submitted all of our contact info and filled out the finance application. They informed me they would have someone contact us. After another day of nothing I decided to call the dealership again I explained what I have done so far and that I am just waiting for a sales person to contact me. We live an hour from the dealership and in the past purchases have always done as much as possiable over the phone, email, and fax. Finally Keith Davey called and all he kept saying was when you come here we can figure out what you want or what works for you. My husband called the next day to see if he could talk to someone and get some more answers before driving out there. He spoke with Shadrick Bennett. Shadrick informed my husband that Robert Halfacre was our salesperson and would be contacting us. Again we wait. At this point a week has gone by and all the contact we have had with dealership is the times we are calling asking for someone to sell us a car. I sent an email to delaership stating that we are eager to purchase a new car please contact us. We immediatly got a call from Robert. My husband and robert spoke about what we were looking for and our personal information to get this satarted. The next day Robert called us again to give us some rough numbers on how much to put down and monthly payment. My husband told him that it was higher than expected and we would have to think about it. The next day Robert called again to say that he had a few more discounts and has an amount that is closer to what we were looking for. Again my husband called him back and left him a message that we are interested and when could we come by. It has been 4 days and Robeert has yet to call back. Today I called Robert, Keith, and Shadrick through out the day and only got voicemail. So I left Shadrick a voicemail stating that if they want to sell us a vehicle we just need a call back. About a half hour later Keith called and to say he was irritated and annoyed is an understatement. He had no interest in selling us a vehicle and when my husband inquired about the new pricing it had more than tripled. Shadrick should have called back today instead of passing the buck to Keith. Keith has no customer service skills and has no interest in hearing what you have to say, he just likes the sound of his own voice. When Keith speaks he is condescending and rude. Robert was given a sale on silver platter and still couldn't close the deal.

I walked in to LaFontaine with the original intent to purchase a used vehicle, and I ended up walking out with a lease on a brand new Chevy Cruze. I am 19 years old and leaving for the military soon and needed a vehicle for the time being. I started off talking with Mr. Walt Sulesky, and worked with Mr. Steve Taylor and they were extremely helpful and relatable. I went to several dealerships and did some pretty hard shopping, and no other dealers compared to the treatment I got at LaFontaine. I knew I was going to buy the car from them just because of their personality and when they came back with an awesome monthly payment, it was a deal meant to be. Mr. Sulesky was above and beyond kind in his approach and I never felt any sort of pressure at any point during the process. I honestly did not expect the car buying experience to be so easy, and other salesmen at other dealerships were either rude or very pushy, especially because of my age and this being my first new car. However, right from the start Mr. Sulesky came outside to greet me while I was looking at cars. It was 8 degrees Fahrenheit by the way. The entire time he was very respectful, very nice and listened to what I was looking for and what the reason for buying was. I needed a simple, reliable vehicle that got awesome gas mileage and wasn't a monthly payment that would kill me. I ended up walking away with a 2013 Chevy Cruze Eco. The guys at LaFontaine have definitely gained a lifetime customer, I will always come back to them for a new or used vehicle. Their facility is beautiful, very clean and very welcoming, and I never felt like I was just another sale to them, I could hold a good conversation and relate to them. It was very nice to have salesmen that acted like real people, not robots who sell cars and don't care about much else. I should hope the owner of LaFontaine will read this, because I will always come back, and I will especially come talk to Walt Sulesky and Steve Taylor. They respectively earned my business, they did it the right way.

I was looking for a used vehicle (one or two years old) and had visited another dealership earlier in the day (different company) and had a terrible experience with a pushy salesman who wanted to talk only new or lease. I left there and decided to try LaFontaine. What a difference! Everyone was welcoming the minute we stepped in the door. We were introduced to Dale and he did not question why I wanted to look at used vehicles; I felt good about that, not being pushed at all. He showed me some used online, and I test drove one. Then I asked him about new vs used and lease. He ran all the numbers, reviewed the options, and I considered the numbers for a day. I went back and bought a NEW car from Dale because the numbers made sense to me. He was never pushy, very friendly and spent lots of time working with me. Then I met Steve for the financing part - again a great experience! I bought a new Malibu and am thrilled with it and the dealership. When I'm ready to buy again, I'll contact Dale!

I recently purchased through Robert Halfacre a new 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ. Robert assisted me to locate the Tahoe after an initial search for a crew cab pick-up. My interest in a pick-up was redirected by my spouse who advised she would prefer to have an SUV. Robert willingly received this change in direction and promptly provided the search for a Tahoe with specifications we provided. The sale included the trade-in of a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. I was introduced to Steve Taylor for financing, which included an excellent interest rate for a 60-month contract. All requirements to complete the transaction were clearly presented.My experience in the showroom was cordial and informative. Robert is very knowledgeable about the Chevrolet truck product line and addressed all questions regarding specifications, such as trailering capability and rated fuel economy as a function of axle ratio. Vehicles were brought to the front door of the dealership for my inspection with his explanation of features. The reviews were complete, courteous, and presented with confidence. Electrical equipment was demonstrated by feature. Robert matched me up with the vehicle of choice.Robert was very proud of the new, eco-friendly dealership as we toured the facility. He explained the lighting system through the skylights, usage of vegetable oil in the hydraulics of the service hoists, and water recovery/reuse from the car wash and drain systems. Other employees in the parts department and cashier window were introduced who conveyed a friendly reception and "family" spirit.Robert gave me a thorough "walk-about" of the Tahoe when I took delivery January 16, 2013. A stone shield had been installed per my order. All interior equipment, including electronics, were reviewed, demonstrated, and my personal settings entered. Robert was familiar with every aspect of the truck.Our "LaFontaine family" fleet now includes a 2012 Buick Verano purchased at LaFontaine-Highland and the new, 2012 Chevy Tahoe. I elected to drive 25-minutes to LaFontaine-Dexter as opposed to searching for a local dealership in Brighton based upon the positive experience through "the Family Deal". I had submitted all my financial information on line and this dealer la fontaine in dexter ann arbor called me for an appointment. I wanted the malibu 2009 and I consider myself a very safe drive and good at paying my debts especially I paid off two previous cars in the past. Well, James curtis pick out a car for me 98,000 miles on and says to me this is your girl friend car since your credit isnt as good and you can come back in year to get the malibu financed after I paid my pmyts on 2007 Mitsibishi with 98,000 miles and financed for 23,0000 dollars as according to keith brothers as well. I really believed they would agree to let me get the malibu 2009. Well I have been making my pmts on time and have proof for them in the last year or more. It turns out they lied to me and sold me a car with way too many miles for 23,000 dollars. I am angry and disappointed at these two rip offs. I called them in July 2012 to make appointment and they never called me back .I had the car fixed from a mild drunk driver on the front bumper. Overall, Keith Brothers and James Curtis stiffed me a car that could go under in sometime while I am still paying pmts of 430.49/month. I would not recommend these people ever again to buy a car from again. I know people who had their cars financed with repo history and still managed to get a new car with less miles. I had only missed a few pmts on a previous financed car and Keith Brothers and James curtis used this against me. WHAT BULL. IM AM ANGRYMr. Gerald Poprawa.

This was the best car buying experience ever! I work in the customer service industry for a boat dealership, so my expectations are a bit high. Mike went over and beyond what I expected. Condensending, RUDE, Unprofessional Jerk. Not only did I have a bad experience when I purchased the Truck IT seems NICK CHESLA feels the need to harrass people in the Repair department as well. I took my truck in for a simple oil change... When I got home I noticed on the paperwork It stated my Front Differential was leaking. No one told me this when I was there. So, I scheduled another appointment to have it looked at. I had an "Appointment" at 830am, BY 330pm I Called to see if I might be getting the truck back that day Since I do use it... they hadn't even looked at it yet. NICK CHESLA states to me " well, I didn't know you were in a RUSH to get it back". WTH!? who says this? I let it go and just hoped they would get it done. He calls back to tell me the U-joint was bad and it wasn't covered under warranty. I said did you find out why it was leaking? .."Let me get back to you". THEN, he calls back says the seal is bad and is covered under warranty but the Ujoint would be $350. I said do the Seal but I don't have the money for the U joint. He says He is going to charge me the DIAGNOSIS fee $100 if I don't get the U joint fixed since this is why I brought it in. I argued and to told him this is NOT why I brought it in and check your paperwork and he tells me "Nevermind, you won't be charged a thing it will be done today or tommorrow"... And I have YET to get a phone call.... it is the following day 10am. HORRIFIC Experience and will do everything I can TO NEVER go back here.

I purchased a new Spark from LaFontaine. I had totaled a car nearly a month earlier. We had been searching for an elusive car with 10,000 miles on it with AC for $8k.It wasn't working well.I am a former driver of the Ford Festiva. I've burned through perhaps twenty of them over time. The most inexpensive car on the lot at the time is was sold new. No frills, light weight meant fantastic gas mileage.They stopped making the 12 inch tire. That spelled the end of my Festiva ownership.I believe this Spark may well be the replacement. The economics of this car are fantastic. AND the ride is stable. This low end of the spectrum Chevy, price wise, delivers great value for the features included. Then goes on to save you money every time you gas up.You simply can't get better mpg without spending at least twice the money. More likely five times the money.Andrew Hatch made the effort as pain free as possible. I had no way to get to the lot to test drive one. The stability of the car was one of the last few questions I had about the car. Andrew was kind enough to drive out to let me test drive one.It was a surprise to my wife. I wasn't sure how she was going to take it. Then a couple of days later she stopped and talked to someone looking at another of the Sparks. I had a troublesome experience with the local dealer so I turned to La Fontaine to make things right. They went to great lengths (Tennessee to be exact) to get me the car that I wanted. Andrew took care of the whole deal so when I got to the dealer to pick up my car I signed the check and papers and off I went. Everything about the deal was smooth. I would suggest buying a car from La Fontaine to anyone that asked. I even keep the La Fontaine license plate frame on just so everyone in Jackson knows to go the extra few miles to Dexter to get real customer service.

My fiance and I have been loyal Chevrolet buyers for our entire lives. Every 2-3 years, we buy or lease a new vehicle for the household. This was our first experience with Lafontaine Chevrolet. Terrible customer service and sales. Mislead by the salesman, Justin Kegley. Was delayed two different times for the pick up of the vehicle due to what we were told was a small scratch in the trim that needed repair. Consistenly told me one thing on the phone and then tried to tell me another when I got to the dealership. Salesman told me I was set with the interest rate, term, etc. on the loan after he had talked to his finance guy, get there and get a whole different story. Justin was only concerned with the customer satisfaction survey. When I expressed my concerns and frustration over the delays, he threatened to not complete the sale (this was the day I was going to pick up vehicle when insurance, etc. was already set up), stating "the couple hundred dollars he was going to make from the sale wasn't worth getting a bad survey and messing up his bonus." What about the customer and the "family deal" slogan they advertise? He appeared to not care about anything but himself in this one. When I picked up the vehicle, it had been washed but was not detailed. Appears no effort went into cleaning and prepping a new vehicle. Inside was not clean and covered with dust. When I got home, I noticed paint dust and splatter on the inside trim, seats, weatherstripping on the passenger side of the vehicle. I was told only that a piece of molding was scratched and needed to be repainted. Their customer service employee Cindy Ritter called for a follow up a few days after the purchase, I expressed my concerns with the vehicle and condition I received it in and the paint issues. She was very accomodating on the phone and said the dealer would do everything to make it right. I was promised a return phone call within a couple days, but received no call and didn't hear from anyone over there for over a week. I then called them back to check on the status and left Cindy a voicemail.....no call back, instead I get a call from the manager, Keith Davey who helped facilitate my original purchase. I retell him the issues, he says he will call back....nothing again. I instead get a call from the body shop manager. Upon looking at my vehicle by the body shop manager, I was told both passenger doors were repainted. I still have not been able to get a straight story of what was repaired and why it was repaired? I continue to be mislead by the dealership when all I wanted to do was buy a new vehicle. Instead I received one that had some sort of body work done behind the scenes by the dealership. I think it's immoral that I can't get an answer out of anyone there on what happened to my vehicle before I bought it and why I continue to be mislead. I expected more for a new car purchase. There continues to be no accountability whatsoever. I have been bounced to 4-5 different contacts over there trying to resolve my issues. No one ever returns your call, you just receive a call from someone different over there and have to retell the issue every time. I am currently in the process of trying to resolve this issue almost a month later and still have not been given the time of day from anyone except the body shop manager. Save your time and money and go to a different dealership in the area and have them find your vehicle for you and do a dealer trade if necessary. This unfortunately was the first and last time I will do business with this place. This is the worst dealership I have dealt with.

I was ready for a new car, but I felt that I would have to go a used car (even though I didn't trust previously owned cars). But Rodney White worked with me to see if I could afford that new car after all. We drove around the 2012 Sonic Hatchback (my #1 choice). We figured in a good share of my savings as down-payment along with my trade in, but the monthly payment was pretty high for my wages.Rodney suggested that I try a lease car. I was able to put a small amount of my saving as down-payment and had only a small monthly payment.Rodney White told me years ago that when it was time for me to get another car, he'd see that I'd get one. Well, it was time and I knew he would pull through for me. Now I have a beautiful new car with warranty that I can comfortably afford.I intend to send other people to see Rodney. If my customers see that I can afford to have a new 2012 Chevrolet on my wages, perhaps they will find they can afford one too.

Without much prior interaction, Paul Meier seemed to know me very well. Not only did he remember what car I was driving (Saturn SL1), he used this knowledge to call me about a special discount on the purchase of a new car. I was able to see Paul as more than just a salesman. He was someone I could trust, like a friend. He gave me his business card and told me to call him if I had any questions. Sure enough, I call him not long after I started driving my new car with some questions, and he continued to assist me even after his sale. Paul seemed to know exactly what I wanted on the car without me even telling him. Not only did his knowledge exceed my expectations, but so too did his intuition. This allowed Him to provide me with a car that matched my personality. I would tell him I like to make long road trips, drive fast and have a good time. As vague sounding as this is, he would expand on it and offer me suggestions I never even thought about.Steve Taylor was also very helpful in issuing me a warranty to cover my electrical devices in the vehicle. I was not sure how many miles I would drive per year, but he did the calculation and we came to a mutual agreement shortly thereafter. Overall, my experience has been completely satisfied and I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for someone they can trust. The car runs smoothly and I feel I've owned it for a month, rather than a couple days because I've been driving it so much.

For the last 38 years I've drove only 70's cars, so it was a bit of a learning curve when looking at the newer cars . Mike was very friendly, patience and extremely helpful as I when though the process of juggling price, condition, year, make, and model trying to deceide on a car. I finaly chose a 2011 Impala. I could have bought this car anywhere and had test drove other cars at other dealerships. But I was drawn back to Mike and his ability to work with me on any lingering concern that I had about purchasing a car. Mike made sure I meant Tom Dutton of the service dept. and sent up my 1st maintenance appointment, this way I would be comfortable right from the start when servicing the car. Even after the sale Mike went out of he way to find a extra sent of keys, and solve or anwser my questions that have come up. I would and will recommend to my friends Mike Daley and LaFontaine.

For the past 14 years I have purchased all my families vehicles (approx. 7) from the same dealership with the exception of 1 which my wife purchased. I recently went back to that dealership and was treated like a number vs. a loyal customer. I was in the market and buying but it wasn't going to be from that dealership again. I decided to try my luck driving from dealership to dealership to see how long it would take to get that warm and fuzzy feeling we all like to have when spending thousands on a new car. I found that when I met Mike Daly at LaFontaine in Dexter. Mike and I had a very frank conversation about my expectations and Mike exceeded every one of them. Since purchasing the vehicle Mike has went even further to call and see if my wife was surprised when I showed up with the vehicle. It's good to know there are still salesmen out there that pride themselves on customer service and treat people the way the deserve to be treated. Robert Halfacre was the best salesperson ever! Being a younger woman I thought going into a car dealership I would be taken for a ride. I viewed the online site and saw 2 vehicles that I was ready to purchase. I had previously been pre-approved with my credit card company Capital One at a previous dealership. I decided to decline that sale because the vehicle did not suit my needs fully but I was aware of the interest rate they were giving me. I received a mailer from Capital One but this time using this dealership because they have a special relationship. I talked to Linda and she wanted me to "come in" when I asked what my interest rate would be. She told me I had to pick out a vehicle and they had to know the price. Well the two cars I wanted were almost exactly the same price. I called the LaFountaine Honda location, which is where I get oil changes and other services for my current Honda Accord. Michelle (who is great) told me that I could fill out the LaFountaine application and she could fax it to the Chevy location. Seemed to be easy enough. Well the Finance manager would not accept her application because he did not trust that location. I don't know what the problem was but I felt like I was stuck in the middle and my needs were not being met. To me the LaFountaine Chevy dealership seems to be very unreasonable and a total waste of a persons time. If you want to get good service use another location. I am ready to purchase a vehicle and just want to know what my interest rate will be, full disclosure. I didn't ask for the run around and bad customer service. Not very "Family Friendly".

From start to finish this experience was GREAT!! I have never had a car delivered to me before and I felt special. Tony did nothing but help me throughout this entire process. The two genglemen that brought my car were very helpful and made sure that the car was clean and even put my plate on for me. Thanks again for the experience and I will definitely recommend this company to my friends.

My wife and I came in to look at cars at the LaFontaine dealership with no real intention to purchase....Robert Halfacre came out and greeted us and instantly came off as being himself which makes all the difference in the world to me. He never seemed fake, corny, or like he was reading from a script like so many car salesman that I've encountered before. This to me makes a HUGE difference in wanting to purchase a vehicle from someone! After talking with Robert about our interest in possibly purchasing a Chevy Cruze or a Malibu, he took the time to show us several different vehicles with the options we were looking for, all well trying to help us get the ideal pricing that we were looking for.When it was all said and done my wife and ended up purchasing a Demo model 2010 Malibu that had all the options that we were looking for. Since the car was a demo and had 7k miles on it, we were also able to get it at a price almost equal to the Cruze that we were looking at purchasing! This allowed us in my opinion to get a much more vehicle for our money when considering size, power, and options. My wife and I both feel that Robert was a pleasure to do business with. I will most definitely recommend him and LaFontaine to anyone I know looking to purchase a Chevrolet vehicle!

Jeremy the salesman was aces! Helpful, courteous, willing to work with trade-in for newly delivered 2012 Cruze. Interest rate was excellent, overnight test drive, Steve delivered the vehicle, paperwork and everything to my daughters home, very helpful, happy and made for an excellent experience...I highly recommend these guys!

Having not bought a new car since 2002, we had a lot of unanswered questions in our minds about what we wanted. My wife and I basically started from scratch and almost felt like this was the first car we had ever bought, because things had changed so much with the technology, saftety concerns, warrantys, incentives and so on.Robert took alot of time and was very patient with us as we asked questions over and over again. Some of these questions I'm sure he answered several times. He always gave us very detailed info and answered every question that I had, some of which may have seemed trivial, but gave us peace of mind.From the moment we walked in to the dealership, we never felt any pressure to buy. In my past experience with car dealerships (not LaFontaine), it was almost worse than going to the dentist. Something I really didn't want to do. Again Robert (and all the staff for that matter)made it comfortable to look and carefully weigh the options of several models.Thanks to all involved for making this a more pleasurable experience!Kirk and Karen Lawrence

The car they gave is nice but I pointed out to Keith Brothers that the CD player is broke and does not work. He said he couldnt do anything to help me. I find this service not as honest as it should. If iam going to pay all this money for this car I should at least get operational equipment even if its cd player. IM not so happy. Also, I asked James Curtis for the CARFAX on the 2007 eclipse andhe didnt let me see it. I am not happy. Linda Napier is a very nice lady and she provided friendly service.

My husband and I never go to a dealership when they are open. Why? Because we don't want to deal with the looking out for their selves, pushy, slick talking, trying to make a quick buck sales agent.When we met Tony Duncan 8:45pm Monday night at Lafontaine Chevrolet it was a breath of fresh air. He gave us time to look around then he greeted us promply with a smile and a hand shake. We explained what we were interested in and our situation. Our goal was to buy a brand new Chevy Equinox and be in it by the end of August. He was honest and didn't beat around the bushes when we asked questions. He treated us with respect like family and instantly we knew we were in the right hands. Tony said he would get us the best deal and take good care of us. He did just that!Things changed quickly and we asked Tony for a Credit Application which he sent to our e-mail Wednesday. He worked hard and went over every option and kept us informed by phone. Saturday afternoon the papers were signed and we were driving home in our brand new Chevy Equinox 1LT. Before we drove off Tony was very informed on all the lastest technology and features of our Equinox. He actually took the time to show us how to program and work everything. He also went and got our 2 year old son some apple juice and gave him a little race car to play with! Tony Duncan went above and beyond all our expectations! We are Extremely Happy with our purchase! We will be back to see him for our next purchase!We love Lafontaine Chevrolet in Dexter, MI. Their hole staff was friendly, inviting and greeted us when we came in. My husband and I are definitely referring our friends and family. I couldn't wait to write a review. Matter of fact we are going to take our Brother there this Saturday. We live 45 minutes away and it was definitely worth the drive. We would drive 2 hours for their service! Thanks Tony for taking such good care of our Family! Your a Blessing! My husband and I went to a couple different dealerships trying to trade in his truck that was costing us way too much money for a family car since we are due to have a baby in September. No one was willing to help us because our credit was bad. My husband called LaFontaine in Dexter and spoke with James Curtis and he guaranteed my husband that he would drive away in a newer vehicle. James was right! James got us into a mini van that's perfect for us and he was able to keep the monthly payments around the same amount that we were paying on the truck!!

After coming off of a bankruptcy we were very nervous about trying to get a new car..everyone was very polite and curtious and made the nervousness go away..even though we weren't able to get as low of a payment as we would have liked, I don't htink we would have been able to do better anywhere else. We were given great advise on what to do so that we can lower the interest/payments in a years time..most places wouldn't "go the extra mile" for customers. We will be back when we have to get a new car - hopefully not to soon though, 1 payment is enough for us :-)

I found Linda Napier to be very persistent and welcoming me to a chance at buying a used car despite my fair credit. James was very though and knowledgeable about the business on used cars and financing requirements. I learned more information from him I did not know in the past. I was very glad that james and keith allowed me to get a car i really liked eventhough i couldnt get the one i had in mind. Keith Brothers was very efficient with the finance paperwork and I felt comfortable around all three of them. Three gold stars for all of them!!

I am so very pleased with my experience with LaFontaine. The customer service there is superb. My experience was great from the first contact. I have already started referring people to that dealership. They were very patient with me and went out of their way to help me get into the vehicle I desired, therefore I will go out of my way to bring them more customers by creating a new and used car campaign. When you find a company that has excellent customer service you go out of your way to get to them. Along the way you may pass several dealerships but you will travel out of your way when you are treated as if you were royalty. That is exactly how James Curtis made me feel.

I brought my car in for service - some standard stuff like an oil change - but mostly because of a strange sound I heard when making slow turns and because my front headlight somehow had water condensation on the inside and the yellow reflector in the light had popped off and was rattling around. I Received *excellent* service! Troy in the service department went above and beyond to provide for all my concerns. I don't feel like a "customer" at LaFontaine -- I feel like a neighbor.

I purchased a new 2011 Chevrolet Cruze from Robert Halfacre. Robert facilitated my vehicle trade-in and the delivery of my new vehicle. He coordinated the delivery of my new vehicle from another dealership just so that I would received the exact color and options that would make me happy. Not to mention all of this on a rainy, holiday Friday all within a few hour period. Now that's fast! Robert made the new car purchase experience less stressful and a pleasant experience. I bought a 2010 chevrolet Impala from Mike Law and from the beginning I sat down and began to have conversation with Mike, I knew it was a good deal and i was in the right hands. I liked that he jumped right into getting to know me and my situation. He was precise and straight to the poin t he let me know what he could get me in how much it was gonna be. He even let me drive it off the lot that day because he knew that the car i was using as a trade in was junk. By pulling some strings and jumping through a couple of loops i was able to get into the new chevy impala 2010 within a week. Whenever you go to Lafontaine Chevrolet in Dexter make sure you stop at the first building to your right first desk to your left or if you have bad sense of direction just ask for Mike Law

I purchased my 2011 Equinox form Tony because he took alot of time to make sure he found the car I wanted, took care of the financing and made sure I was informed on my new car as much as possible. The other dealership I was referred to overpriced me on the same exact car...!! He went out of his way to have the paperwork signed and knowing I can purchase a GMC,Buick, Cadillac or Chevy from him is great becasue I will refer everyone I know to him. Not only because he is SUPER but he made sure I was in the payment I could afford! I love my new Equinox!!!Thanks to Tony, Nick, Angela and Shad!

The overrall experience at the LaFontaine dealership in Dexter, MI was exceptional. Mike Law was the staff member that assisted my wife and I and he did a fantastic job. We had our three children with us at the time and he was very accomodating to our every need. Mike was attentive and professional throughout the entire process from greeting to goodbye. I liked the fact that they were not pushy and that they gave us personal space. It wasn't about the sale, it was about making the right choice for our family. I thought the business transaction went as smoooth as any transaction we have ever had. It is because of the wonderful experience my family had with Mike Law and the LaFontaine staff that I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone.

I was greeted by Robert Halfacre as soon as I walked in the door. He asked how he could help me, I responded that I wanted to buy a truck. He listened to what I said about price, monthly payment range, and the type of truck that interested me. Less than 2 hours later I drove away with the truck of my dreams, in the price range I expected. He and his dealership worked with me on my trade-in to everyone's satisfaction. I have purchased 2010 Silverado, Leased a 2011 Malibu and helped my daughter lease a 2011 Malibu. Tony Duncan was the saleman on all three vehicle's. Tony did a awesome job.The best thing I liked about this dealership, That there was no pressure in buying or leasing the vehicle's. Tony was honest and gave the best price right up front. I had a great time with Lafontaine. We test drove cars while getting an oil change and then one month later my wife surprised me with one of the cars in the drive for valentines day. Over the next three days, they helped me decide on a lease verses a purchase, as well as a personal lease or thru my work place. I had a great time and I thank all of them. I was also treated like a pieace of dirt from Nick Rose. After going to the dealership and driving from New Haven Mi to Dexter I was first greated by James Curtis who was pleasent but under the circumstances would only show me a mini van and would not give me a price on it. So then he had Nick rose the finance manger come in and not only did he yell my credit score to try to embarress me he treated me with such disresepect i walked out. My husband stayed because they made it sound like we would be lucky to get this mini van. I just wanted to no the price but got yelled at. He downtalked me and while waiting in my mothers car another couple came up and said he told everyone i was kicked out of the propety. The women and man that were friends with the first salesman James Curtis and were so upset they sat and complained to James Curtis for at least a half an hour on how rude Mr. Rose was. Then they told me he was talking to them about me. Sad but true they also told me how sorry they felt for me because they heard how Mr. Rose tried to downtalk me and yell at me. I never in all my life have been treated so badley by a sales person and my mother who let us use her car to drive out there told me that if we left she would co sign for us at another chevy dealer because she was so upset by the way were treated, so I went back in and told my husband lets leave. We went outside to talk and there came the 2 salesmen about 20 seconds later wanting to show me something else. It was a 2004 Saturn suv. I told Mr. Rose that i would work with Mr. Curtis but i would not work with him as he was so rude to me. Anyway the deal went through but i was also told that they were throwing in a 2 year power train warrenty wich i found out they charged me 1800 for after my husband signed the paperwork. After agreeing to Mr. Curtis we would take the suv i went back in the car because my husband would be signing paperwork with Mr. Rose and thats when the couple came and were also complaining about Mr. Rose and told me he was telling everyone he kicked me out. The deal was finished i had a terrible exsperience but i had a suv being dealiverd the next day. Well the suv broke down about a mile from our house before it got to our house. I thought chevy dealers had to do a certain amount of checkpoints on vehicles before they sold them. Well Mr Rose finally after my husband called him about 5 times told him the suv had broke down but said he would be sending us another car to drive while they fix it. Well that was the deal breaker. We refused the car. We put a stop on the check and called Mr. Rose who was very rude and told us we had to come in and drive another hour and a half to get out of the deal. When going back and dealing with Mr. Rose again he yet again acted rude and his first remark was when my husband asked if he had to sign something was no i dont think so but we still have your check for 4000 with a grin on his face like that was his money. At that point i told him the check was cancelled the day before wich he was so mad he actually turned beat red and made my husband go to garage part of the business and get a screw driver to get our plate back. We were told by a few of the mechanics that he treats everyone like that and were not the first people who he has done this to. We have leased before from Lafontaine and had no problems and have only heard good things about them. My husbands family only buys from them and are loyale customers they dont by from Dexter dealership though. I hope this gets in the right hands as i will be righting letters to the Lafontaine family because i really downt a family that has done so well would want someone treating customers so rudely. Mr. Rose yelled to everyone how bad our credit was treated me with so much disrespect i was in tears and when we asked for the gentlemen who we thought was our salemens when we called about 20 times to set up the deal he called him a stupid idiot and said he didnt no what he was talking about. He is there finance manager and he's cutting down his own team of employees? Well the good news is that after all of that and with my husband forcing me to go with him we went to Matick chevy on Telegraph road. We first of all were treated with respect and not yelled at i was told exactley everything up front and when i asked a question in was answered. We did use the same finance company that Lafontaine wanted us to use but amazingly enough when they ran our credit the next day not only did we have to put less money down our interest rate went from 25 percent to 18 percent. My sales men and the entire team treated us as though we were people with millions of dollars and not people who had a bad run of luck and where trying to improve there credit. I was told that i should be asking questions and they were willing and happy to answer them and also told me i was one of there fastest and least complacated deals for someone trying to regain a good credit score and bought a beautiful car and actually got one that had a 2 year warrenty on it. Like i said i will be righting other letters because i dont want what happend to me that day and the other couple who wanted to buy a car to happen to anyone else. In my ipion Mr. Rose not only tries to intimadate his customers but acts like your lucky to buy a car from him even if it doesnt run and breaks down. Hes rude and when i told Matick chevy how he told other customers how he kicked me out when he didnt and how he cut down his own sales team they told me it was unethical and he probably would not last long but that i needed to let the lafontaine family no what happened. There is more like the next day after my husband took our plate off the car we were no longer purchasing he ran into a guy he new from school because Mr. Rose went and took off into the new car department so we couldnt find him and ran into a guy he went to high school with and he told him that Mr. Rose went into the new car department and was running his mouth over there i quess asking questions is not allowed when your handing a check for 4000 and being treated with respect is out of the question. I quess Mr. Rose cant stand the fact that i didnt trust him and wouldnt deal with a man that treated me so rudely, he himself needs to take some classes on not only respect for the customers but his fellow employees. Was very intersted in a vehicle that was listed as in stock. Called friday evening to make sure it was still in stock and was told that it was.Arrived within an hour of the store opening the next morning only to find people taking delivery of the vehicle. I was told that the people in question had been worked with throughout the week to finalize their purchase. The salesman that attempted to work with me was extremely rude and condescending. When He asked if I would consider another vehicle, I said most likely not, at which point he said "What if I could get you an 06 Corvette for 4500$," with obvious sarcasm in his voice. The entire 10 minutes spent at the dealer left us feeling treated poorly.I have never been so poorly treated by a car dealer in my life!
