A special thanks to Harold Kavner for going the extra mile and working tirelessly with me to make sure I felt good and comfortable with my new purchase. Ordered a car back on 6-28-21 with salesman Jonathan Williams. The vehicle had a delivery date of 8-25-21. The car arrived a week early while I was on a vacation. Received nothing but an email stating it arrived at the dealer, Jonathan claims he called and left messages but I had received none. They decided after I waited 2 months for the car to be delivered to sell the car from under me, before the expected delivery date even came. Not only did they waste two months of my time, they couldn't even wait until the expected delivery date before screwing me over. I would not do business with LaFontaine, Especially Jonathan Williams. Now I get to begin the entire process again, wait another 2 months, except this time with a competent Subaru dealer and salesman. 0 out of 5 stars

Today my 16 year old son purchased his first car. Our salesman was Nick Stacewicz.Nick treated my son with dignity and respect, he went over every detail of the car and the car buying process. He was kind, and very thorough. several of the other men dealership were also excited for him, all remembering what it was like when "they got their first car" I can not say enough about our experience at this dealership and with our salesman Nick. P.S. I almost forgot to mention... my son was treated as though he was buying the most expensive car on the lot, and the truth being told... he bought the least expensive used (high quality) car this dealership had. It doesn't get any better than this. Thank you Nick !

I just left the service department and I can't rave enough about Scott and Jim! Brought my forester in for an oil change and they were wonderful. They remembered me from the last time I brought my car in (to get it dried out after leaving the moonroof open - Yikes!. They did not charge me for this and gave me a loaner for the day) and today was just as exceptional! I have never trusted dealerships for service, but I will not take my car anywhere else. I just bought this car in June (a used 2014) and I LOVE< LOVE, LOVE my subaru. Best car I ever owned!

When we arrived to take delivery of the Subaru Forester that we just purchased, we were disappointed to find the vehicle was waiting for us in the lot, dirty both inside and out. After discussing the issues with Adam Germain, he let us know that our salesperson Kathy Chapman would contact us when she returned to work so that we could get the issue taken care of. After a week of not hearing from Kathy we took the vehicle back up to Lafontaine Subaru and spoke with Kathy direct. She assured us once again that she would personally oversee the detailing of the car to make sure everything was perfect this time. The nest day we arrived to pick up our vehicle and found that they had failed to properly detail the car for a SECOND time . Kathy and Adam had already left for the day so another salesman took pictures of the dirt that was still under the rear mat as well as hair on the seats and and told us that he would inform Kathy the following day. Another week has gone by and we have yet to hear anything from Kathy regarding the issues. Overall, this was and continues to be a very disappointing car buying experience

I went in to LaFontaine Subaru to meet with Service Advisor Jim Jelley a little before noon on a Monday. My Forrester hadn't been running quite right and there was an occasional smell of exhaust in the cabin. I suspected and feared an expensive repair related to the catalytic converter. I was particularly worried because in less than 2 weeks time I was to be travelling a long distance to pick up my son who was being discharged from the Marine Corps. Jim got the problem diagnosed, sent a driver off-site to pick up the necessary parts and had the exhaust problem as well as 2 safety recall repairs completed while I waited. I was ecstatically happily on my way home by 4 in the afternoon. The car runs perfectly now. And did I mention that Jim was able to warranty the work? It's love that makes a Subaru a Subaru, and it was Jim Jelley who made me love LaFontaine Subaru. Yay Jim. :) My most sincere thanks.

Took the Legacy in for oil and filter. I had noticed that the price had gone up since my last visit. Mentioned that the wiper blades should be changed and that I had a problem with the fuel door. Miguel said they had the parts in stock and that it would take a little longer and would I like a loaner. I accepted. two hours later I got a call that the work had been completed. Everything was great and I do enjoy working with Miguel. When I got home I noticed a charge of roughly $19.95 for G.O.G. I thought that oil changes were $59.95. Just would like to know what G.O.G. is. Other than that I was treated very well.

In 2006, I initially walked into the Subaru Dealership with my son, who recommended I check out Subaru. That's when I met Kathy. I bought my 1st Legacy in 2006 from Kathy. She was very helpful and found the exact car I wanted. It was totaled 4 years later when I skidded on some black ice. I walked away without a scratch! I called Kathy and told her about my accident. I asked Kathy to find another Legacy for me. I purchased my 2nd Legacy, this time in 2012. Kathy again found the exact car I wanted. She was very helpful throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, my 2012 was totaled. I walked away without a scratch! AGAIN I called Kathy. She found my 3rd Subaru. Kathy is now more than just a salesperson to me, she is my friend! She is the best. She goes above and beyond I my book!

I do not recall the young lady's name in the Service Department, but she was excellent. I arrived rather late in the day, and they worked their magic so that they were still able to take care of me.Just one comment/suggestion. I am not certain why the automatic headlights are turned off by the Service folks, but it has happened twice now, so I am guessing that it is standard procedure. It would be GREATLY appreciated if the headlights could please be returned to the auto setting with my fog lights on. Because my lights are always on auto, it's never an easy fix for me to ascertain that everything is working in its auto mode as I had it set when I came in.

Danielle Offerman delivered the car to my wife and I at a friend's residence in Ann Arbor. We live in Bay City and she went out of her way to make it easy for us to pick up our new car. It was late in the day but Danielle took the time we needed to go through all the items on the new car check list. She answered all of our questions and has check back with us twice to ask if we had any questions about our new car. We recently purchased a Toyota from your LaFontaine dealership in Dearborn. We haven't received the all weather cargo mat. Danielle offered to help locate the missing all weather mat. She is going the extra mile, great salesperson. Enjoyed working with her.

When it was clear that there was some time-consuming work to be done on my car (I knew there was a possibility the brake pads would need replacing when I took it in for oil change and tire rotation), I was offered a loaner car which gave me the opportunity to try out a new car in a different model, and was allowed to keep it for a day or two until it was convenient for me to return to pick up my car. This type of customer service is important to me!

Kathy Chapman was the salesperson for my 2916 Subaru Forester.My work with her was very transparent and open. I knew shewas not withholding anything about the sale from me and that she had my best interest in mind. I had been told by another Subaru dealership I would have to wait 8-10 weeks to have the color car I wanted. When I spoke to her aboutthe color I wanted, she said, "There are some of those around". Within a week the carI wanted was at the dealership, having been driven from another dealership in Michigan. I've bought a lot of cars over my lifetime. I think I can say without reservation that my experiencewith Kathy Chapman was the best car buying experience I've ever had.

Hello: I have wanted an Outback for over a year. I stopped in at the dealer in 2015 and test drove a Outback. I was impressed. At the time of my visit the deal was in transition from Dwyer to Lafontaine. I came to your dealership because my wife had leased a Forester from Dwyer. We had a positive experience with Dwyer so I thought I would give Lafontaine a try. I also shopped the car at Hodges but I felt the Hodges dealership seemed small and was too far from my home. Your dealership was able to beat Hodges price. I did look for a used Outback before I purchased. The used cars out there either had too many miles or did not have the options that I wanted, so I decided to order an Outback exactly with the options I wanted. There was one glitch when I ordered. I wanted a tan interior but I ended up with a black interior. I had handed Joe (salesperson) my build sheet and said to him that I want the car ordered exactly with the options on the sheet. I had clicked the black interior on the build sheet but told him to order tan interior. When I picked up the car I was surprised that the interior was black. One of Joe's associates said that based upon his experience I would be happier with the back interior, he was right. As it works out, I like the black interior because it hides the dirt. I think the tan looks good but would not stand the test of time. The only other thing I considered with ordering options was to get the 6 cylinder engine. I ordered the 4 cylinder and so far I have logged 275 miles on a half a tank of gas and the power seems adequate. I still have wheel arch moldings that are on back order to be installed, so don't forget to call me when they come in.Also, the Lafontaine dealership is new and clean. I visited the service department because I had ordered a luggage carrier for the roof. The service department seemed to process incoming cars quickly. I noticed a Subaru pulled into the service bay and was immediately greeted by a service rep and quickly sent to the service bay for an oil change without having to wait. I am sure I will have the dealer service my Outback. Thanks, I love the Outback

I had my 30k mile service current mileage approx 26k. seems like they did a pretty good job, but when I got home I noticed the remote starter did not work. I had to bring my car back the next day to determine why the remote starter wasn't working. As it turned out the hood wan't properly shut. I thought the cost of this service, $492 was a bit high. However, it looks like they did a good job other than the the hood not being closed all the way.Thanks,Jeff

Was in the area on a Saturday and stopped in to see if Service was open and if they could get my car in to replace the headlights. Miguel greeted me and was both very personable and professional. I was escorted to the airy and nicely appointed showroom/waiting room, where the comfortable seating, big screens, and coffee/snack station made the wait enjoyable. During my stay, a couple other items surfaced and Miguel promptly explained the issue and what was being done to resolve the situation. Miguel checked in a couple of times with updates. I felt that the work was done in a timely manner and the pricing was less than quoted at another area Subaru dealer (please don't increase your pricing to keep up). Although it was my first time at LaFontaine and had not bought my Outback there, I was treated like a valued customer!Unlike most dealerships I've been too, my drop-in service call wasn't see as an inconvenience. Even appointments at some other Subaru dealers often make you feel that you are bugging the employees. The effort in designing and creating the customer-friendly waiting areas were very much appreciated and a huge step-up from the cinder-block room found in too many dealerships and repair shops. It went a long way toward enhancing my experience and made the time fly by.A totally positive experience. I will return for future service and will definitely see LaFontaine for my next purchase. I will also definitely recommend this dealership to friends and family! Great job. Your staff and building clearly meets your mission statement!

The two people who greeted us were cordial and interested in U.S. As individuals. Miguel was especially thoughtful with helping us find the waiting area and coming in periodically keep us appraised of the situation with the car. He said it would take about an hour and it did. The whole dealership was clean including the bay where you leave the cars. Miguel was friendly with excellent communication skills. He also went way beyond the call of duty and entered the numbers of my cell into the car. Thank you again Miguel for your caring and pleasant spirit. Awesome service!!!

Miguel was wonderful to deal with, he explained everything and kept me up to date on how things were going with my car. Miguel made me feel warm and welcome and even wished me a Happy Hanukkah when I told him I celebrated Hanukkah. Kathy was very nice pleasant and warm to deal with. The reason I noted average for quality of work is that a part from what I think is my glove box was not replace and I found it on the floor of my car. Bought my 2015 Subaru Forester at Thelen Subaru in Bay City Michigan. Called to make an appointment there for my 6000 mile oil change and tire rotation. Wow, what a surprise when they told me it would be $80 for the oil change and $20 for the tire rotation. Called all around Michigan and Thelen is outrageously high and Lafontaine wins hands down at $39.95. My only regret is that I didn't also give the sales team there the chance to sell me a car. I won't go anywhere else from now on. I would highly recommend them for your Subaru needs.

Went in for oil change and brake light replacement. Received the complimentary inspection which brought a couple minor issues to light. Straight to business and efficient communication. Length of time, waiting for service to be completed, was good, about an hour and a half. I think the cost was high, over $200. The coffee was good. Having tv's and wifi helped the time pass. The free car wash is advertised as a $25 dollar value, which is over valued. The back of my car had streaks of dirt marks. The more appropriate advertised value would be $10. The facilities are clean and workers are friendly. Good job.

I visited this dealership this afternoon with full intention of purchasing a 2016 Subaru Forester. The first person I came into contact with was the only person I dealt with. He was extremely unhelpful and kept asking me "What can we do for you?". When I told him what I wanted, he typed on his computer for a few minutes and told me he could not find the car. I had come from a different dealership who said they found the car I wanted in Ohio, but this salesman couldn't seem to come up with any information on it. He again asked me, "What is it we can do for you?" I asked if he could quote me some prices and financing rates. I understand that since I want a 2016 there wouldn't really be any special incentives, but I thought maybe I could haggle a better price. Completely unresponsive to my inquiry, he just asked yet again, "What can we do for you?". It was obvious that he wasn't interested in making a sale today, so I replied, "Apparently nothing." and left to return to the dealership I was at earlier today. Well, all said and done, the other guy made the sale. Too bad....I had read a lot of complimentary things about this dealership and I'm very surprised at the lack of service I received. Needless to say, they have lost a customer.

This is our very first time owning a Subaru and we "love" our Forester!! Bob Heinle worked very hard to make sure we got what we wanted and were happy with it and was no more then the amount that we could afford. We were discouraged a couple of times at first with the cost but Bob went above and beyond to find a vehicle that would fit our budget and one we'd be happy with and he succeeded, so don't give up cause they won't either. I bought my first car ever from Lafontaine Subaru......having always been a Chevy girl I wasn't sure about a Subaru but when I walked into the dealer I was greeted right away even though the sales person was with another customer.....went for a test drive and upon returning realized that they were actually closing. My sales guy not only stayed late but made my experience so great that I can proudly say I am now a Subaru girl :) Thanx so much again to Anthony Grimaldi for going above and beyond and making my first car buying experience something I talk about all the time...you have a customer and friend for life......LOVE MY SUBARU

I had bought a 2011 Forester from Dwyer who used to own this dealership. I went to Lafontaine Subaru in Commerce Township on December 23, 2014 to get a price quote for a new Outback. I met with sales manager Scott Tarwacki and his associate Anthony Grimaldi. The test drive was great and I liked the new Outback even more than my Forester. I received good advice as to which options to consider for me and to improve resale/trade-in value. I got a great price quote. While getting an appraisal on my trade-in, the service department ran a check on my vehicle and fixed two warranty items. As an extra they washed and vacuumed my car. Lafontaine took away all the stress usually associated with the car buying process. I have not purchased a vehicle yet but plan to do so soon.

Searched for vehicle I wanted online (sought to replace 2005 Subaru Outback LL Bean Edition totaled in accident). Looked like LaFontaine Subaru may have inventory. Familiar with LaFontaine family name, favorable reputation, and that they owned automobile dealerships (I reside near Dexter, MI), so I stopped in. LaFontaine Subaru had the car I was seeking, we negotiated an acceptable price, and I drove it home that afternoon. It was a favorable experience.

Finally decided to go into a Subaru dealership for the first time. Always was interested in the Outback. Everyone there was very polite and friendly. The financing was better than my credit union and the salesman helped me order the car I wanted. The price on my trade in was also very fair. Zero complaints. Usually it is an all day process to trade in your vehicle, get financing, blah blah blah. However I think I was done from start to finish in less than 2 hours. I will update when the vehicle arrives and if and when I require service.

Ordered the 2015 Subaru WRX in June 2014. Sales rep. said the order was being placed on June 3rd and the approximate delivery date was in September of 2014. Not only did this dealership not communicate the actual timeline to me (until 4 days before September and 2 weeks of me requesting an update), they failed to place the order entirely. New timeframe was set for end of January or Febuary 2015. This dealership does not communicate any updates and promises false delivery dates, stating that the vehicle has been ordered when, infact, it has not. Bottom line: False promises and very poor service. I would NOT reccomend this dealer. I wish I could give a lower rating...

We never owned a Subaru before so we were lucky to have called on LaFontaine Subaru. Our sales person was Kevin Crowell. He was patient in showing and explaining the features, letting us test drive the different models. HE helped us in narrowing it down to the 2015 Forester. Kevin even got a better interest rate then I could get at my own bank of 25 years! We drove it home that day. I have had it back to service 1 time for a oil change. My service writer was Jeff and he had me back on the road in less then 30 minutes. If your looking for a Subaru do yourself a favor and go to LaFontaine Subaru.

I would recommend Dwyer & Sons Volvo Subaru because Ive always had a pleasant experience here. I have a 2011 Subaru Outback that was purchased here and I take it in for oil changes, tire rotating and recalls. The staff is nice and friendly and I think the cost of service is fair. Sometimes they even include a free car wash! They are good about emailing coupons every so often and always follow up via email after appointments to make sure that you are satisfied. Scheduling an appointment is simple and the wait time is never more than an hour, which I happily enjoy sitting & reading in the natural-lighted waiting area, drinking free bottles of water, complete with a recycling bin! I think theyre doing everything right making me love my Subaru that much more.

My Husband and I were looking for a replacement vehicle for our tired Honda Civic. We were interested in the Impreza and our initial contact was with Rick Tanner, the sales manager. Rick introduced us to Doug Utz and he is who we dealt with. They worked together to find us the exact Impreza we wanted and had it at their dealership within 3 days. Everything was great. Doug was exceptionally patient with us and very easy to work with and I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a new Subaru.

I recently bought my second Subaru from Dwyer and dealt with Doug both times. I bought an Outback, and my Wife and I bought a Forester for her about 1 1/2 years ago. Both experiences were what we expected. They are low pressure and friendly and definitely not the typical dealer experience. Their service department has been great so far, too. We both love our Subarus and have recommended Dwyers and Doug to several of our friends already.

Purchased a three year old Subaru a few years ago, from a surley salesman (I would have walked if not for the car being worth it). They lied about replacing the rear brake pads before delivery. After the promised, pre-delivery front brake replacement, the front brakes pulsed at delivery (obviously no test drive). When warm weather arrived, the A/C didn't work. I gave them one more chance to do service work in March 2006, and they tried a bait-and-switch price scam on the service work (they wanted $200 more then phone quotes on two occasions). The service writer also tried to scare me into service NOT needed yet. I've NEVER heard anything good about this dealer. I've heard great things about Hodges Subaru on Woodward. They have my business now.
