My brother in law went in to purchase a vehicle. Filled out the paper work waited around. The usual deal. When my brother came into the dealership to co sign for a vehicle with him. The dealers entire demeanor change & the main salesman became less flexible with the numbers. It’s a situation of (you had to be there to feel the vibe) but I’m pretty certain it’s because they realize they were married. It wasn’t till we all went to a gathering that I was told by people familiar with Volkswagen of Abilene. That it was homophobic. I was stunned that this is still strong in 2021. Sad days. Hope others can read this warning & take your business elsewhere

I would have given a 5 star because I’ve bought two vehicles here and had a great experience with the sales dept. However, after my experience with the service dept I had to knock my rating down some. I went in for a routine oil change. No big deal, we can handle that right now. I said okay perfect! My check engine light is also on if y’all could just run the code and see what it is, even if you can’t fix it today, just let me know if I need to schedule to get it fixed or if it’s a big problem. Oh ma’am we won’t be able to run a code reader today we are too backed up in running codes. Mind you, they could change my oil, a 30-45 minute ordeal, but can run a code?!? Auto Zone literally hooked it up, read it, and told me the problem in FIVE minutes!!! Do better VW!

Just don’t bother with their service department. Drive the extra three hours to Dallas… Claimed they were unable to fault my vehicle which was running rough and had a warning light on. They held on to the car for almost a week and couldn’t replicate the continuous issue. Took the car to a VW dealer in Dallas straight after, who were able to resolve the issue right away.

The process of purchasing a car was great- no complaints- but it has been the service department after that sale that has really impressed us. The service department is outstanding! Courteous, helpful, reasonably priced (compared to private garages).

Fast, efficient replies to online communication that was followed through with presentation of a vehicle meeting all information provided, without any hidden surprises and a purchasing experience that was streamlined for my out of state handling of TTL processing. The salesman was welcoming, had the used vehicle I was purchasing as clean as any new floor model would be, and was organized in expediting all needed paperwork to allow us to complete the sale as planned and travel to our next destination. The dealership itself was immaculate, had extremely comfortable lounge areas with refreshments and water offered, and TV entertainment for clients seeking out news. The owner obviously takes PRIDE in how all aspects of his dealership present a respectful interaction with shoppers. It was a WELCOME change from other dealerships I have been in over my lifetime. They should serve as an example to others as demonstration on the importance of keeping locations clean and ORGANIZED, which lead to pride within the sales teams, service areas and finance departments, making the publics' perception one of confidence and trust.

I had to have my Jetta towed to Volkswagen of Abilene the Friday prior to a holiday weekend. I did not expect a response until the following Tuesday. I received a call on Saturday with an initial assessment but was advised that a mechanic would do a complete diagnostic on Tuesday. On Tuesday I received a call after lunch and was told that the initial assessment was correct and no other issues were found and that my Jetta would be ready after 4 pm on Tuesday. I was quoted a repair estimate of $240 to $260. When I picked my Jetta up on Wednesday morning the repair cost was the lower of the price range.

I bought a new Passat and I can't believe how quick and easy everything was. All the guys were super friendly, answered all my questions, and didn't try to "push" or sell me stuff that I didn't want. I finally found a dealership that I can look forward to visiting for service. Free car washes and loan cars anytime service or repairs are done is a nice plus too.

We had fantastic customer service. They were very helpful and accommodating. They gave us a minivan like the one we were buying to go to lunch and do some shopping while they cleaned, checked over, and refueled the one we were buying. We had our whole family of five...including a sick and grumpy two year old. The salesman gave her two VW hot wheels..which cheered her up. This was a great car buying experience and I will recommend them to everyone!

I live in Dallas. I bought a new Jetta. On my way in from Dallas for a family emergency I noticed my car was pulling to the right. I had not noticed this before as I had just bought the car and had only test drove it through town, not at highway speeds. I called the dealership in Dallas. They suggested that I stop in at the dealership in Abilene. When I went in and told them that I had just purchased the vehicle in Dallas and explained what was going on I was questioned, rudely, as to why I didnt purchase the vehicle from them. I explained that I live in Dallas. He quickly changed his tune with me at this point. The service man went for a quick test drive with me and I was told that even though the tire pressure, which he checked after I kept insisting something was wrong, was a little off there was nothing wrong with my car. He also told me that since I have nitrogen in the tires he could not fix the tire pressure. He told me to just keep two hands on the wheel and I would be fine. I felt very frustrated that I was treated this way. I know part of it is because I am a female, the other was because I didnt purchase the vehicle from them. Once I got back to Dallas I took the car back to the original dealership. The front end was out of alignment. A new car with the front end out of alignment? How does that happen? Apparently this was not the first time they had seen a new car come from the factory with this problem. They were surprised that Lawrence Hall was unaware of this or just the lack of interest in helping anyone that required service that had not purchased the car from them. After the mistreatment I received from them I will avoid having to grace their doors with my presence.
