First I want to say that I was completely happy with my experience of purchasing the car. Nicole and Scott both did an excellent work in helping me purchase the car. I had looked about 2 months of ago at used car. Nicole was the salesperson answer my inquire. Nicole stayed in touch with me over the next several months. I received an email about 2 Altima cars. Nicole followed up again and told me there was only 2015 left. All this time we are discussing purchasing a car with my wife. I emailed Nicole that I was coming up and would be there around 2:30. When I pulled onto the lot there was Nicole (I had never seen her.) walking. She did know my trade in. She directed me up the parking area and then showed me the car and test drive. It is a great car and I loved it. I told her what I thought should have for my trade-in. In little while she came back with the offer and we traded. Scott was very helpful in selling me extended warranty to 100,000 miles. Thanks to everyone! Car was cleaned and full of gas when I left.

I had requested the following work but they wanted to do work that was not needed. I requested to have tires rotated, wipers changed, oil changed with new filter and both air filters changed out. I picked up my vehicle only to have a bill for I had tires balanced and alignment, oil and air filters, wipers changed and 6,000 mile vehicle inspection. What and wow! I was upset with this cost. The next day, I found the front coil spring was broken, wipers not replaced, cabin air filter dirty and the water pump was leaking.Mitch Bomgaars was the service manager. He just looked stupid when I questioned why and did NOT take ownership or responsibility. Will not go back (of course) and will share this story with all my peers including BBB and Iowa Attorney General.

Scheduled and could get oil change on same day. On time and also thorough inspection with oil change. Always goes through the inspection with you and makes sure you understand problems that need attention. They do a great job and know I can trust them!

I have been working on building my credit up enough to get a car in my own name instead of my mom's. I went to the dealership to to see if I would be able to trade my car in all while not knowing what to expect. Patrick (Randy) met me at the door with the biggest smile. That eased me a little. He was so nice and so friendly and my crazy kid didn't irritate him as much as he did me. He helped me get the best deal for the Altima I got and I am happy with the car. I highly recommend that if anyone reading these reviews they go to Lithia Nissan of Ames and see Randy he is the best guy ever. He is willing to help you as much as he can while smiling the whole time. Doug was nice to me ever since I talked to him on the phone the day before and telling him what I was trying to do. Tom was a fun loving guy helped me wrap the process up and when I come in for that first oil change I will still be bringing chocolate your way. LOL...

My wife and I recently purchased a 2015 Nissan Murano SL AWD at Lithia of Ames. As a matter of fact, this is the second Murano we have purchased at Lithia. We were so happy with our 2010 that we never,seriously, considered another vehicle. Brian Fox was our salesperson and what a great asset he is to Lithia. My wife and I have a terrible time making decisions and Brian was excellent in helping us make this decision. We went back and forth for eight hours before we decided on the Murano we bought. There was no pressure exerted toward us by Brian, just facts, compassion and a willingness to help us through this process. Brian explained to us all aspects of the Murano, let us test drive it and even let us take it to get some lunch so my wife and I could talk, alone. That was much appreciated. Basically, we are extremely happy with the Murano we purchased, in 2010 and 2016. We have both of them at home and are proud to say, we are a two Murano family. Lithia is the best dealership we have encountered, Brian Fox is a top notch sales person, the service department with Jeff Searcy and his staff are the best and we will definitely stear future buyers to Lithia. KUDOS to Lithia of Ames! You should be very proud of the service you provide for customers!!

Dealer called us to remind and schedule first car maintenance and oil change. Got us in without wait and completed ASAP. All service done perfectly and precisely. My experience at this dealership was the worse. I bought a certified pre-owned 2012 Nissan Sentra in July 2015 and within 7 months I had to replace the brake pads and the rotors. To my understanding buying a certified pre-owned vehicle is suppose to give you a sense of security that there should not be any big expenses so quickly after purchase. They were also supposed to send me a check for an oversight that was made and I never received it. So therefore I believe they are not looking out for the customers but are just concerned about the sales. If you want an honest transaction I do not recommend this dealership

First of all, This dealership is the best I have ever been.Very friendly, but they also offers you the best service. Detailed information, and explain in very well. All the cars were inspected. The very few test drive was not satisfactory enough since the price was around $3000So, it was not sufficient enough for me to satisfy but except that, Everybody in this dealership is super nice. Negotiation process did not take that long, offered me a reasonable price.My dealer Micah Sickmann even picked me up from my place, He kept me updated with the carfax reports, and variety of cars in my price range.He tried his best to give me the best schedule, and take care of almost everything.Very polite, and friendly as well. He seemed like he is trying to do everything he can do. Also, this person is very TRUSTWORTH as well ! I started off with a lot of concerns but, that was very unnecessary.Even a person who is not aware of how to get a used car would not get ripped off, here.I have been to other dealership as well in AMES but can definitely suggest this is the best one.

Patrick (Randy) Daugherty met us at the door as we entered to look at several different cars. Before sitting down he offered us a bottle of water, which was much needed. We had an idea of what we were interested in and Randy was extremely helpful. This was one of the few experiences I've had at a car dealership where I felt like I was actually able to buy a car, not have someone sit there and try to sell me one. Randy, Tom and Doug were all good people to work with. No question, we'll be back in the future if we need any services or other vehicles. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Waited on immediately. Helped pick out vehicles that I was interested in. Very patient with me while I was deciding. I got to test drive several different cars immediately. Very knowledgeable about the cars and the whole process of buying a car. I got to talk to several different people during the process, they all were friendly, respectful, and wanted me to have a good experience and get a good car. They stayed over an hour past the end of their shift to get everything finalized, so that I could leave with my new car the same day, that in its self is above average. I traded in a car that I had bought here new - I had 5 years of worry free driving with it and I am looking forward to knowing that I will have another 5 years of nothing mechanical to worry about, all I will have to do is just drive.

I brought in a used Murano I recently purchased for an oil change and free inspection. Everyone I came in contact with was very nice and helpful. It was reassuring to be able to see from the waiting room the mechanics working on my car and doing exactly what I was paying for and a floor manager was walking around being involved with the mechanics. The mechanics even put on protective gloves when driving my car so that they would not dirty the steering wheel. A manager went over the maintenance sheet with me without me having to ask before I left. I really appreciated this as I am only a 22 yr old student, and it is nice to receive extra assistance in situations such as this. I will definitely be having my Murano serviced here as long as I live in Ames

My husband and I were looking into the purchase of a new 2015 Nissan Rogue and had set up a test drive with the dealership. We worked with Brian Fox and he was extremely nice, informative, and really just made the experience of car shopping more of a fun experience than a chore. Efficient, quick service. On schedule for my appointment. Had oil changed and tires rotated. Will definitely return for my next service needed. It's worth the trip from the Des Moines area to Ames. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating, is that I believe there is always a little room for some improvement. It was an overall very good experience.

My Fiance and I went with the intentions of buying a used car, and had an older truck for a trade-in. We went to several different dealers, and could never pull the plug on a large purchase. We didn't know what to expect when we had spoken with someone at Nissan/Honda, and wanted to stay with lower payments for what we could afford. Tom Wishman was the representative that I originally spoke to about purchasing a vehicle, and I am so extremely glad we got him as our Sales representative. Not only did we get an upgraded vehicle (something we never thought we'd be able to get) for the same monthly payment as an older vehicle, but we had fantastic customer service. When we went to different dealers, it felt like the Salesmen were being really pushy, and not really caring about what our wants were, or our limits. Tom explained every single aspect of purchasing/leasing a vehicle, and didn't "push" when we weren't sure about something. He answered every single question we needed, and made us feel so comfortable. I could not thank him enough for the experience of purchasing a vehicle. If you want someone that is going to honestly talk to you about your options, not talk to you like a sales person, and go the extra mile to make you happy, Tom is the person you need to see. I've purchased 2 vehicles in the past, and this was by-far the best experience I had. Good enough to write a review.

We had been looking for the right Suv for several weeks. Finally started test driving and narrowed it down to a couple vehicles. What swayed us to Lithia Nissan of Ames was the class of it's employees. They were very professional yet very personable. We felt very comfortable that we could tell them exactly what we wanted. We didn't feel pressured what so ever. The salesman Brian was very informative but not one bit condescending. We had done our homework and knew a lot about the model we were interested in. Brian knew his product very well. I'm not sure I've met a salesperson as well versed in his product. Usually before I make a purchase I know the product as well as the sales people. Today was not the case. Anyways all the people we dealt with were all class and treated us respectfully. The sales person Brian was top notch and the financial adviser John was a total professional also. I've dealt with quite a few dealerships in my life and this one rates with the best of them. On top of the great service We love our new Rogue.

(without saying any names)..As soon as I Walked in the front door at Ames Lithia Nissan , Immediately I was greeted by Brian Fox, and then I turned around and was greeted by another guy named Brian Fox, as I started to look somewhat confused, another gentleman come out and introduced himself as Brian Fox..... I have bought and leased many cars but my experience with Lithia Nissan of Ames was very pleasant, painless and quick (I do not have to spend whole day to go back and forth on pricing). Very warm welcome by Pete who is Sales Manager followed by an outstanding customer service of Rob Treadwell. No pressure car purchase, all question answered with big smile and encourage to ask many more and learn about different cars before making decision., even encouraged to do test drive and that made me buy the car I wanted. Once all done, Nick, Business Manager wrapped things nicely and complete the paper work. Little delay in delivering car due to weather otherwise over all experience is 10+++. I have always had Excellent Service at Lithia Nissan of Ames. I have leased 2 vehicles and bought one for myself and daughters and would not go anywhere else. Susan the receptionist is always very cheerful and pleasant and makes your day. Jeff in Service always explains everything and is very knowledgeable and nice. The service guys do a great job in a timely fashion and you don't have to wait.Brian well what can we say. He is excellent. He is very patient , understanding and is always willing to take the time to give you the best deal. He is not a pushy salesman . He understood what we needed and was able to provide that quality product. On Business end it was so nice not to have someone that is not pushy and making you buy all the products that are not necessary for the extra money, Thanks Scott. Bought a Used Nissan Versa, I reported some issues on 2nd day to resolve. The Car was under 100% warranty for Labor and Parts. They are not able to resolve the issue and trying to sale that the vechile is fine. I reached the Salesman and she said that she will not interfere as she might know that it is a problematic car. There was another issue which I found during the same period and they don't have parts in there store and they wrote that they will order and send that to me and I need to go to there another dealer ship to rectify. It is been 5 months they have not shown any effort to rectify the issue. I have a written evidence that they will perform this service and they are not refusing to do so. They are not trust worthy. I will not recommend any one to go. I bought a New Car from Nissan of Omaha few days back and they are prove to be good in every area. I recommend to go there to get piece of mind.

Josh was a pleasure to work with. He and the sales team worked diligently to find me the car that I wanted for the price that I needed. He was very patient as I made my decision. No high pressure sales tactics from the beginning to the end. The dealership plays worship music on the sales room floor and I wondered if the music message would conflict with the business behavior. It did not. I would highly recommend if you are planning to purchase a Nissan that you go to Nissan of Ames and ask for Josh. A stellar young businessman. I am very happy with my car!

We purchased our previous Nissan from the same dealership and same sales person, Brian Fox. Our experiences have always been very good and have sent other individuals, looking for an automobile, to Brian. Every time we have taken our first purchased Nissan in for service, if Brian was available he made an attempt to visit with us. Our first purchase has been a very good automobile and we went back to the dealership to look at a new Altima. Brian met with us to show us all the options that culminated with our purchase of a new Altima.

After 10 years, I decided it was time to get a new car. I love the Juke's look, sportiness, and AWD feature, so I went in knowing exactly what I wanted. The Juke I was looking at was waiting outside, running, for my test drive (which was greatly appreciated given the well below-freezing temps). After that, we went through negotiations and the sales process, which went smoothly, fair, and surprisingly not stressful. Every single person we worked with was fantastic. They really made us feel like we were at a small-town dealership and that they appreciated us. While I hope my Juke lasts me another 10 years, I hope to buy the next vehicle from them. Well worth the experience.

Even though we live in a large city, we chose to drive 30 miles to the Ames dealership because we TRUST their work and their word. Bought a new 2014 Altima from Doug Krogman at Lithia Nissan of Ames and could not be happier with the experience. I called him with the details for the car I was looking for, he located it, went and got it, and completed the deal at a very fair price with no surprises. When we arrived, the car was ready as promised, paperwork was in order, and the transaction was smooth. He spent the necessary time to explain the features of the vehicle, explain all documents, and even paired my phone to the nav system via Bluetooth. A very pleasant experience dealing with Doug A+++++ job.

I needed a new car and my mom had previously brought a car from here. I had just graduated from college so one of the sales people, Patrick Daugherty, that my mom got her car from helped me to find a car that was affordable for me. He also was very helpful with finding a car with the features that I wanted included as well. I had been taking our 2007 Murano in for routine service since it was purchased new. I had been complaining for years that the gas millage was below par. The service dept always said it was fine and they could do nothing. After complaining to the dealership mgr I was told that if I came in and traded they would see me happy.So we traded with the idea the Murano would never get any better gas millage. A month later I hear from the NEW owner that the state of Iowa said the vehicle had been involved in a rollover accident which it had not. He then asked "why did you trade it in?" I responded as to the POOR gas millage we were getting. He said he had looked it over and could tell it was running WAY TOO RICH and instructed the service dept to fix it before he signed the papers on it. They did and he gets 25-26 MPG and I got 18-19 MPG, IF they would have done this for me I would not have traded and would have been happy with my vehicle. BEWARE OF THE SERVICE DEPT OF THIS DEALERSHIP !!!! I am now in a contract for the next 6 years because they don't LISTEN nor RESPOND to there "VALUED" clients!! David Graham.

I had a great experience, Randy was very flexible, understood that I was on a budget, and kept an eye out for cars that seemed solid. I ended up buying an Oldsmobile Alero, and he helped me out by driving back down to my apartment for me. I was impressed with the dealership over, and Randy especially, if I end up looking to buy another car in Ames, this will be the first place I stop by.

we came to the Honda dealership to have my husbands van serviced and while we waited we were looking at vehicles for me. we originally wanted to look at a Honda crv but found a Honda pilot and fell in love! Patrick, or Randy as we called him, explained all the features and information about the vehicle, let us test drive it, and then we drove another one, and we decided we really liked the first one the best. Randy took all our information, first of all taking our children getting them a pop and then taking them to the lounge where they could watch tv or play with toys, and then talked with his boss about our application. He was very friendly, very professional and we had a really easy time understanding all the warranty information, and all information he gave to us. we were trading in a vehicle that we didn't have with us at the time, told us they would either come and get it for us or we could bring it down. just a wonderful experience from start to finish! Thank you Randy for all your work and patience with us! WE LOVE our NEW PILOT!

Patrick put us with Greg to show us a new Pathfinder. The wife wanted a Murano as that is what she had but was not happy with the gas millage. Greg said we should really consider a Pathfinder as they were just a bit larger , had the same options she wanted and were better on gas.She fell in love with it and Greg and the dealership worked VERY hard to get my business. I was NOT in the market for a new vehicle , but they made it VERY attractive so we pulled the trigger on a new one. Greg got me a very good interest rate as we are not millionaires , and nobody has been able to beat it. This is the 3rd vehicle I have purchased from them and am happy with the deal I got. You can always wish for more OR FREE , but I feel we did okay , and will go back and recommend them to anyone looking for a vehicle.David / Rhonda Graham Ames , Iowa

Great experience with everyone that I dealt with. They had to get the car I wanted, with the options that I wanted, from a different dealership and thought it was going to have the stainless steel illuminated kick plates but it did not have them. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed when I opened the car door when I went to pick the car up and it didn't have the kick plates. Everyone has been great about getting this problem resolved, from checking with the Service Manager to make sure they could be added to my car. They have placed the order for them and we will be setting up a time for them to be installed. It might have been a little misunderstanding on the part of everyone, me included, but everything has been resolved to my satisfaction. Everyone was very good about communicating during the dealing process through email and phone calls. First time I had purchased a car from Lithia Nissan of Ames and I have had a great experience with everyone that I have dealt with and met.

I was in the market for a new Nissan Xterra, with specific requirements for my new vehicle. Ms. Smith went out of her way to find several vehicles that suited my needs and in a few days, the vehicle was brought to Ames. She was very good about keeping me informed about the process all along the way, and there were no surprises at closing. All in all, it was a very good car buying experience. Jenn was friendly, very open about the process, and I got the distinct feeling that she was working with me instead of trying to sell me something that I didn't want. I negotiated a deal for a Nissan Leaf electric car with the exterior and interior colors we wanted to be brought in from another dealership on a trailer. The next day I was called and asked if I would be interested in a similar car with a different interior color that they found. Accepting the different interior color saved us significant amount of money in freight because it was located at another dealership that was much closer. I appreciated that Lithia Nissan of Ames went to the extra trouble to save us money. The dealership employees took all the time we needed to understand both the new car and its features, and also the lease process.

The staff is not only honest and sincere but they worked to find us the very best deal possible, while I know they are in the business to make money they were able to help us save some as well. We got a much lower interest rate than we expected and they found a program that fit our budget and got us into a 1 yr old car without any hassles. Thank you Greg and Pete. You guys are the best.

So i had been looking for a mazda mpv, for my next vehicle. I am not a minivan kind of girl but this fit the bill for what i needed it for. I looked at many dealerships and found the one i wanted here. What really made my mind up was randy, he basically sold it to us over he phone!! He knew we were coming from 2 hours away an it had to be perfect. Long story shortened, the mpv had a problem on the way home and starting acting up, I called Randy we got it back to ames and they took care of it 100%. They fixed what needed to be fixed and delivered it to my house 2 hours away!!! They have return customers here! We rate the a 5 because even though we had a bump in the road they made it right! I really had the pleasure of working with Patrick "Randy" Daugherty again. This was the third time that Mr. Patrick Daugherty helped my family in getting a car. Patrick has the professional ability to listen to what the customer wants and what would fit their needs as he has done this with me.With this experience and the last one, I wanted the blue color and the certain features. Patrick helped to find the car I wanted. When I purchased the Nissan Sentra SR through LIthia Nissan of Ames; I wanted the metallic blue color with the navigation system and moonroof with spoiler. This was a combination of the two cars I had before going to one car. Patrick and his sales manager never gave up in finding the car I wanted which was found in Texas. Yes, it was hard to give up the two cars I had but it was feasible to go down to one car. I am still getting use to the Nissan Sentra. The more I drive it the more I like it. I want to thank Patrick Daugherty and Lithia Nissan of Ames for finding me the car. Patrick Daugherty is a very professional, friendly salesperson whom has a very caring personality. We went to this dealership based on a pre-approval postcard I received in the mail. I was hoping to refinance my old car at a lower rate, but my old car was too old and had too many miles and too much negative equity to refinance. The people at this dealership worked with me and I was able to get a new car. Can you believe that? A new car! I have never in my life had a new car! I was also told about the oil change program and the extended warranty so I can be so much more worry free. I had an awesome experience with this dealership. Lia and Scott were wonderful to work with and I would recommend this dealership to anyone.

My husband and I had the greatest experience ever! From the moment Billie came out of the door he was friendly and had a great smile and a hardy handshake. Billie was outstanding! He listened to everything I wanted and gave an excellent solution. Buy a new car! He showed us a 2012 Versa fully loaded and Nissan had a great incentive package. Billie worked very hard for us and respected my wishes of using either my credit union or Nissan for financing. The Finance Manager was great making several calls on our behalf - Thank you Scott and it was great to have the general manager of the dealership take time out of his busy schedule to celebrate my new vehicle with us. I've never had a brand new vehicle ever but Billie (and definitely the Lord) made it all possible. I would recommend Lithia Nissan of Ames to any and everyone. Make sure you ask for Billie. After totaling my car my husband and I were shopping around online for a certified pre-owned Nissan Murano fully loaded with leather seat and never thought we would have ended up with a luxury vehicle as well kept as the 2006 ML350 Mercedes SUV we purchased with only 70K miles on it. I feel like the modern day Marilyn Monroe in a sense. A vehicle fit for the Fashionista within me and a lovely vehicle my husband can meet his clients in as sales man himself. We needed a more versatile vehicle and when researching the web, came across a used 2012 jeep at Lithia Nissan of Ames Dealership and liked what we saw. So that Saturday we decided to go and take the vehicle for a test drive, we drove it and really liked it. We worked with a gentleman by the name of Lee, he was very friendly and worked very hard for this deal to happen. We did have a trade in vehicle, and I cannot say enough about the trade in package they gave us, it was above and beyond our expectations. Everyone there were very nice and helpful, even when they had to stay after working hours to complete the paperwork. We drove home with that jeep that evening and are very happy with it. Lee and some of the other staff made this happen for us. In my humble opinion, if you are searching for a friendly, and decent place, where they are happy and willing to work with you to get you the vehicle you would like (new or used) I would stop by and speak with Lithia Nissan of Ames. We had a very good experience with them and will go there for our next vehicle as well.

My family members have had good luck with Nissans (they run forever), so I dropped into this dealership with questions on leasing. Randy met me at the front door, and answered all of my questions. Mainly, could I afford to do this? I was comfortable with my current car, but it had a lot of miles and memories of my ex-husand attached to it :( Everyone, absolutely everyone, was so friendly even though they had to stay after hours to complete my paperwork. Needless to say, I drove home a brand new Nissan Altima in the color Java. It's gorgeous and I can't believe it's mine. Randy and the rest of the staff made it happen for me, so if you want a beautiful car at a beautiful price, go see them!
