I would recommend the Matthews GMC service team but not Matthews. I no longer have any trust or respect for Matthews due to a recent incident regarding an auto history report provided to me prior to the purchase of my 2009 Pontiac G6 in August 2014. The original auto report in 2014 showed no accidents reported but a new report was run this past Oct 2016 with an accident recorded in 2010 with no explanation from the Planet Pre-Owned management team as to why the discrepancy. I would not have purchased the vehicle if I had known the car had been in an accident, which has depreciated the value due to this latest report. I will not purchase or recommend anyone else to Matthews or continue to bring my vehicle in for service unless there is an issue with the latest service (rebuild transmission costing over $2,000 on a vehicle with only 52K miles!)

I was interested in leasing a new car for the first time and had a lot of questions.I went online to research mid size AWD SUV's and put Mazda on the test drive list. After several e-mails with Paul Tierno at Matthews Auto Group, I knew what my monthly lease payments would be and what to expect to get for my trade-in.Paul answered all of my questions and gave good suggestions.I arrived at 1:30 and was driving home with my new CX-5 by 5:00.This is our second Mazda from Matthews Auto.

My experience was great! The salesperson was very helpful and answered all of my questions. When I took the car back for the installation of fog lights, they provided a loaner car that was already warmed up and ready to go. They even corrected a typographical error on my registration certificate that had existed since we bought a car at another dealership 18 years ago!

As a female car buyer, I am ALWAYS a little intimidated walking into a car dealership, but Matthews Kia was VERY welcoming. I was greeted at the door and invited to look around at my leisure. Polite sakes staff would check in with me and ask about what I wanted. They never tried to steer me into something I wasn't asking about. I would highly recommend them.

This dealer is top notch beautiful they have a great customer lounge and showroom floor. The salesperson was terrific. He talked to me about what I wanted features, colors etc. I took a test drive and we talked about my driving impressions, he also informed me about the car features in a full mix of roads. It really felt like a no pressure atmosphere of just two friends talking. He went over the models they had in stock, one that where coming in or they would trade a dealer for the car I was looking for at no obligation.

I had such a pleasant experience at Matthew's! The service was second to none, the facilities were very accommodating! Dillon made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. He went the extra mile, helping my grandfather (who is no longer ambulatory) by taking paperwork or to him while he waited in the car, and was happy to do it. What a great buying experience! Matthew Import Center is a wonderful facility and is lucky to have Brian Chadwick - who is just a terrific salesman. Not only did he find the exact car I was looking for (2016 Subaru Crosstrek, 5 speed in ice silver) at the exact price I was looking for; but he went above and beyond by watching a movie I suggested. You see, I feel that every car sales person should see "Fargo" (the movie, not the series). It's all about the clear coat scene. Brian, not a fan of the Minnesota, actually watched the movie. What a good sport! This was the second highly satisfying experience I've had with Matthews. I will continue being a loyal customer for both service and sales.

I just bought my second car from matthews: J. R. Heeter being my salesman each time. My first purchase was a brand new Mazda cx5.. LOVE my Mazda.. J.R.was so nice to work with, no pressure, and everything was so easy ! For over a year he looked for a Mustang for me. He texted me when he thought he might have one, and also occasionly just to say Hi! In March he told me he had 2 Mustangs. I sat in the 2015 beautiful black Mustang, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Then he showed me a gorgeous 2006 Mustang GT with very low miles . I heard the roar of the engine and fell in love with the car!! Again, there was no pressure from J.R., just friendly and very helpful! There were a few minor flaws in the exterior, which Mike Savage graciously agreed to fix( at NO cost to me).. I had told them I wanted to take the car to shows. J.R. and Cinnamon( in the financial office) made everything happen so easily, and I am the proud owner of my dream Mustang!! At my second car show I won " Best Muscle Car" trophy!! I can't thank all of you enough for not only selling me a gorgeous car, but for making my dream a reality!! J.R. Heeter and everyone at Matthews treat you like a friend of the family! I drive from Oneonta , and it is well worth the drive!!

Stopped into look at a 2015 Dodge Ram that was on the lot one night after the dealership was closed. I thought about going to look at this truck again during business hours. . . Finally made up my mind to stop in and look at the truck and take it for a ride. Walked into the dealership and was greeted by Noelle Dalfonso, very friendly and knowledgeable sales person. Took the truck for a ride and decided to purchase the truck. Noelle took care of all of the paper work for the purchase so when I returned to the dealership after the bank, only took a short time and I was out the door with my new vehicle. Very happy with the vehicle!!!! The day after I got the truck, I noticed that 3 of the 4 tires had the locking lug nuts installed and there was no key way lug for the locks. Contacted Noelle about this, she told me to bring the truck right back in and they will take care of the problem. Set up an appoint with the service department at my convenience, and they corrected my problem with prompt great service. The only drawback with the whole vehicle purchase was the fact that Matthews import is the only dealer in the Matthews group that does not work directly with Horizons Federal Credit union. I had to go to the bank with the vehicle information to get the check for the vehicle. It was not all that big of a hassle, but I was told by the bank that the dealer could have done all of that right at the dealership location and I could have taken the vehicle home that day.

My wife and I purchased a Suburu Legacy last month from Matthews Import Center. We were very hesitant because we are a bit picky when it comes to buying new cars, just as any one would be. Our experience overall was a bit salty. We couldn't come up with the numbers we wanted and thought we deserved, and our salesman seemed annoyed with us. We think he is a fine young man, but seems to have no patience when it comes to customers. Jr Heeter was knowledgeable about the product, but seemed out of sync when trying to create a relationship with us. We almost didn't purchase the car because of it. Next time we will look around before going back to Matthews.

Nick Schmidt made my buying experience of my Mazda CX 5 a pleasure. This is my first brand new car. I told Nick what I was looking for. He asked all the right questions specific color, rear camera, navigation, all the options I wanted. He showed me several vehicles then he found the perfect one for me. I bought my second Subaru which was a new 2014 Forester in April 2014 from Noelle D. and she was wonderful and very helpful and walked me through everything. Matthews Import Center is a really good Subaru Dealer. Noelle Dalfanso just helped us buy a new 2015 Subaru Outback to replace our 2012 that was totaled in an accident. She couldn't have been more helpful. I recommend Noelle if you want to purchase a car from Matthews Import. They are really good to deal with and I was very pleased with the deal we got. I have used their service department exclusively for our old Outback and have been very please with the quality and speed of service. Joe Vaughn is really helpful. I initially went to Matthews looking for two cars (one for my mom to purchase and one for me to lease). My salesman was JR and Cinnamon worked with all the financing. Initially the vehicle I was interested in (2015 Mazda 3 hatch), was coming in higher than I could afford. Cinnamon worked to find every rebate and discount she could to get the price to where I needed it to be. While I was car shopping for us, my mom was in Colorado so JR worked tirelessly to help me find a Subaru Impreza that had all the things she was looking for. They located the Mazda that I wanted at another dealership and it was there within two days. Due to some random circumstances, there was only one day that we could finalize everything on my car or it would have been another week to 10 days before we could do it (and I'm super impatient). JR came in on his DAY OFF to get everything finalized for me. My mom is going in on Monday to finalize everything with her car & Cinnamon found a cheaper interest rate for her & was able to get her monthly payment lower than she had on a previously owned vehicle! We have never leased a vehicle or have owned brand new cars, and Cinnamon and JR were both so wonderful at explaining and answering every single question we had. I am so pleased with the experience I had at Matthews, mostly because of the way that Cinnamon and JR went above and beyond in every aspect and exceeded all my expectations. We love our cars & can't thank them enough! :)

One year ago I purchased a 2015 Mazda 6. I have purchased more new cars than I can count so I have good experience with both new cars and the buying process. In fact the last two cars I've owned, purchased new, didn't last a year because of disappointments with them. I still love my 6! It is hands down one of the best cars I've ever purchased. Its comfortable - even on long trips (and I'm just shy of 30,000 miles in a year). It has great features like Pandora, push button start and side and back up warning systems. These are new features for me and ones I didn't think I'd want but LOVE them. It gets fantastic gas mileage and I'm not giving up responsiveness and power for that economy. My daughter has borrowed the car a few times and can't wait for me to need a new car so she can "buy" this one from me. Noelle was great to deal with, no pressure sale, and she was very knowledgeable about the car.

My experience at Matthews was far beyond what I ever expected to receive at a car dealership. The experience itself started out while I was merely trying to figure out what kind of car I wanted to buy/lease. I was looking at several different models (and thus several difference dealerships), but I never felt pressured in any way. I took a Mazda out for a test drive, spoke a bit with the sales rep there (J.R.) and was on my way. J.R. and Matthews sent a couple emails to check in and see how the car shopping process was going for me, but they completely respected my decision to wait for another few months before making any decisions. Once I did decide on the Mazda CX-5, the process was easier than I ever imagined it could be. J.R. was a huge help - going above and beyond in every possible way, as was Scott, their financial manager. I have only had my Mazda for a little over a week now, but I am confident that Matthews will be with me for anything I need during the next three years of my lease. I cannot recommend a dealership (or my salesman, J.R.) more! (As a side note, the only reason I did not give the full five stars in all categories is that they were remodeling during the time I was there, which could make parking a bit of a pain. However, when the renovations are finished, I am sure they will be completely deserving of full marks.)

I traded in a very beat up Ford, which Matthews honestly but professionally reviewed, and bought a used Prius-C, which I feel very lucky to have found. The best part was no negotiations necessary, because Matthews is a one-Price dealership. I had a budget to work with, and the gentlemen still made it happen! I may have had my best car buying experience in 45 years at Matthews Import Center with Cinnamon. We visited three local dealerships in the same day looking for a certified used car. There was no comparison between our experience at Matthews and the other dealerships. Instead of high sticker prices and low ball offers for our trade-in, we felt like we got a fair deal and an outstanding sales experience. I'll be back to shop for my next car and after accompanying me on this visit, my wife will be back as well. The reason the facilities only gets a good review at this time is they are under a tremendous amount of construction.

Thanks Bill Skudder for an awesome car! Hi Bill Ahhhh 2014 is coming in like a lion...with the first significant snowstorm since I got my new Impreza. Want to share a little story with you. It's probably one you've heard before ....but it's a first for me. We live just off Glenwood rd near BOCES in Binghamton. Coming home today I braced myself to maybe even have to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up. That would have been with my OLD car. In my new Impreza I tooted right up the hill...easily passing 4 cars that were stuck in the middle of the road. No slipping, no sliding, no fishtailing. The fishtailing ruts going up he hill were impressive and I thought for sure that would be my fate. But no....I came up that hill turning into our road with not so much as a bit of trouble. It was ALMOST as if there was no snow! The heated seats were a comfort too! I love my Impreza

My wife and I stopped by on a Friday night 15 mins before closing and Mike McNeil took the time to sit us down and get an idea of what we were looking for. We set up an appointment for the next day and Mike had done some thinking as to what would fit not only our needs but our budget as well. When we got there he had already picked out a vehicle for us to check out and had it running already. While we took the vehicle for a test drive Mike worked on getting a trade in price and overall price and payments. We fell in love with the very first vehicle he had chosen. When we left to talk everything over Mike was still working on trying to make everything work without a hitch. He went above and beyond what any salesman I have ever dealt with ever has. He kept in contact every step of the way and after the sale was made he still keeps in touch to make sure everything is going good. This is 1st car I've purchased from Matthews Auto,(and I have had many cars) and I'm really impressed with Paul Tierno who followed thru with any request we had regarding the car. (after we purchased the car we saw a large dent, called Paul and it was repaired and painted like it was never there.) Last week I called about a light on the dashboard and was told to come in, they explained about the weather affecting the tire pressure and Tyler Zeen who put air in the tires was just as professional as the office personnel, when I asked about a car wash he offered me 2 coupons and patiently explained where the car wash was. I called about the oil change and spoke with Brian Zeen, who listened patiently and everything was completed in a timely manner . Thank you. (I told my husband this morning before I left home, that I hate going to the "car place", but it was really pleasant, so THANK YOU!

I just wanted to say how satisfied I am with Matthew's, especially my salesperson Cinnamon. When I walked in to Matthew's to shop for a vehicle, I already had a deposit on another Subaru at another dealer, and it was a used vehicle. I knew all about this vehicle except the price, that would never be disclosed as I asked, they just gave me my terms and I said sounds good let me think about it. Then came Matthews and Cinnamon, she was able to place me in a 2014 brand new and guess what for less than the used I was looking at. The entire staff at Mathew's was great,especially the finance department. Kudos to Scott and Bob as well. I was so satisfied i recommended Matthew's to a friend, and guess what, they bought one too! I had purchased new autos before always from Corey's, now it will be only Matthews!

We are planning on visiting our children and grandchildren during the next couple of weeks to deliver Christmas presents. So we took our Subaru to the Matthews Service Department for a routine checkup. And as they have done over the years, they did a super job in servicing our car. But because of the extra work that needed to be done, the bill was higher than I expected. I was thinking that I would have to cut down on the amount we would be able to spend on Christmas presents. That's when Gil Millard, Service Advisor, came to the rescue. He noticed that we had accumulated enough points in the Matthews Rewards Program to pay for the whole bill. So thanks Gil and the Matthews Rewards Program for making our Christmas brighter! Also a thank you to Rob Pinta who has sold us our last 4 cars. We recently took advantage of KIA's new program and turned our lease in early! We turned in our 2011 Optima and had our last 8 payments waived and ended up with a brand new 2013 Optima! Approximately one month ago my wife and I purchased a new Kia Sorento from Matthews Import Center. Having been through the buying process several times before I myself was not looking forward to the process. This was our first visit to Matthews as it was nearly 100 miles from our home however it was well worth the drive. The one price policy was a primary reason for taking the drive and when all was said and done, we made out better than at any other competitors in our area. It was truly a no hassel experience. Bill Kalka was our representative and took the time to get to know us, what we were looking for and explaining the process. In the end, we got the car we were looking for at a very reasonable price and without undue stress. I would highly recommend a visit to Bill if you are looking for a pleasant buying experience with reasonable prices and a no hassel approach to buying a car.

This is my second Kia Sedona and my experience with Mathews Dealership was excellent. The no hassle, one price buying that is offered from this dealership made the buying procedure much easier. Sales Consultant, Bill Kalka, could not have done anything else for us. He was excellent and went above and beyond in answering my questions, showing me all the features of the car when I picked it up, set up my phone so I could use Blue Tooth etc. He followed through with a phone call to make sure everything was going OK. I purchased a 2014 Subaru Forester. The staff at Matthews, especially Cinnamon Myers, were always pleasant and helpful, making the whole process very easy. I test drove several different versions of the car, on three different occasions and asked a lot of questions along the way. The answers were always forthcoming. I had to wait about a month for my car to arrive from the factory, and they were very good about keeping me updated on its progress. Greeted by name, I came for a 30,000 mile check. Gil Millard told me how long service would take, and summoned my shuttle driver. While I was enjoying Vestal's shopping, Gil phoned to confer about his recommendations for service, and how much it would cost. Servicing was done right on time, driver picked me up, and all the paperwork was ready. Gil was cordial and efficient. I "zoom-zoomed" to the free carwash, and was happily on my way. Thanks!

We have had our New forester for about a week now. It feels good to be back in an all wheel drive vehicle again. We have owned Subaru's in the past, 5 or 6 actually, I thought being retired I wouldn't need the ability to go out on the snow covered roads. I couldn't be more satisfied with the service I've gotten from Mike Gottlieb and his crew at Matthew's since we bought our Subaru from them nearly 4 years ago. In every instance, from the original purchase to my return for service yesterday, he and everyone there has treated me and my wife not just as a customer but as a friend. For example, I called yesterday morning (Monday) for an emergency repair (from a problem on Sunday) and stated that I was desperate because of two crucial doctor' s appointments that I needed to get to that day. The service dept (Mike Savage) got me right in and Mike Gottlieb, knowing my dire situation, got me a loaner car to use. It saved, what could have been a horrendous day for us. Also, the service dept gave me an alternate solution to my problem which minimized the repair cost. They could have "taken me for a ride"...but didn't! I could go on about other instances of their good will, but suffice it to say that because of their actions over the years, my daughter and her husband have bought a Kia and Mazda from them.

I purchased my Cross Trek from Bill Skudder at Matthews Auto back in August. It's a fun car to drive and I'm looking forward to driving it in the winter. I bought this car outright without a trade in. The one price made the process easier and when compared to online prices for the car was very competative. I did skip all of the extra's, rust proofing ect as I don't think they are worth it.

We bought a 2012 Forester from Bill Skudder at Matthews, then decided our daughter needed a car at college, so bought a 2014 Forester for ourselves. There was no question of where we would buy it. Our biggest decision was color and options, and we ended up with more options than we had expected, at a good price.

Mary Lou Alger was our Sales Consultant. You couldn't ask for a better person to deal with. She walked us through all details and took care of everything that needed to be done when buying a new car. .She showed us how everything worked inside and out, showed us the trunk size and what was under the hood as well. We weren't 100% about buying a car that day, we wanted to look at Niesson Ultima's as well She compared the service warrenty , no interest, etc. comparison wise. She sold us the car right than! You couldn't find a friendlier person to deal with (you felt like you had known her a long time). We also have the kia van and we know how excellent your service dept is as well. As with many people, I hate buying cars as you tend to find yourself hounded by a salesperson that simply will not allow you the time to browser their selection - this is not the case at Matthews. They have an online experience that allows you to browse the cars in their inventory without hassle and have someone on stand-by if you wish to talk. Once we found what we were looking for we set up a meeting with one of their sales people - Mary Lou. From the first you meet Mary Lou you will feel as if you were meeting with a long lost friend. She's a very genuine, down-to-earth person and made our car buying experience all the more enjoyable. We also want to add that when we visited the dealership the car we found online was the car sitting on the lot - no unpleasant surprises, no up-sell, simply the car we wanted to see and test drive. I was thoroughly impressed with all the staff we came in contact with at Matthews. The environment is a positive one, something that lacks in many businesses today and everyone was friendly and helpful. When we are looking for our next car we will definitely be looking to Matthews!

I have been dealing with Matthews dealerships for almost as long as they have been in existance. Our family has purchased both new and used vehicles over the years. My sales person and the back up personel have always taken good care of me. I would like to say thank you to Marvin Potter. He has been a major part of every purchase that I have made at Matthews. I would also like to give a well deserved thank you to Bill Kalka for helping us with our last Matthews adventure. I stopped in to talk to Marvin about the best location to take my 2008 Chrysler 300C for some brake problems. He sent me to the company's Chrysler expert on the Vestal Parkway. While there, I ask him to keep an eye out for a good replacement vehicle for my wife's SUV. We talked for a bit and then, after showing me around the facility, he introduced me to Bill Kalka. That introduction has lead to two purchases this year. We leased a 2014 Kia Sorento for my wife. and just a few weeks ago I purchased a used Volvo XC70 to replace my very sick truck. I looked for a particular Subaru for a few weeks at dealers within a 125 mile radius. Rob Finta and Cinnamon Myers at Matthews in Binghamton really distinguished themselves. They heard my request and told me when what I wanted was on a truck. Called me when it arrived and had it cleaned up and ready to test when I arrived. They answered every question and seem to know the car inside and out. No hard sell on the car or on the suggested add ons. The finance department even got me a better loan that I thought I could get. The checkout process was a breeze too. I spoke to and visited 5 dealerships during my search. Rob and Cinnamon were focused making my transaction a success. Frankly, the other dealerships I visited seemed distracted and I had to fight for their attention. My career is in sales so believe me when I say that Matthews is a quality, customer-focused operation.

Walked in to a very cheerful rep who went out of her way to show us what was available and to go over with us the options we had to purchase one of these cars. I was originally looking for a decent used car for the wifey, but ended up leasing a Kia Optima because it made no sense to me paying the same monthly payment for a 6 year old car when I could have a brand new one. I had always looked at cars on Sundays because I didn't want to be bothered by salesman, but at Matthews it was different. Mike McNeal originally showed me a Subaru Legacy, let me take it for a drive, and told me it had to be checked out by the mechanics before they would let it off the lot, which came as a bit of a nice suprise to me. He caught me off guard again when he sent me home WITHOUT even having me fill out a credit application and pulling a credit report. He was extemely easy going and didn't apply one ounce of pressure to purchase or look at any different cars. I decided on a Monday at 8:00 pm to lease an Optima, Tuesday Kia wanted a paystub, Wed. I got approved, and Thursday 6/27 I picked up my car with a full tank of gas. Mike went over all the features with us, when he set up the cell phone in the car he even made a prank call to one of the other guys at Matthews which was absolutely hilarious. All in all my experience was seemless and stress free, I couldn't expect or ask for more. Mike, thanks again buddy, you were awsome. I'm leaning towards a black on black Cadenza next time, but whatever car I get, it will definitely be from you.

I came back to Matthews from all of the years of buying cars from them. From my Parents to me. They have been a pleasure to deal with. I came to them looking for a rare, limited production Subaru WRX/STI and knew if anyone had a chance of getting one to sell it would be them. I recommend Matthews Import Center because of the capable, friendly and reliable service. I bought my second Subaru because I really loved my first Forester, and because I know I will get great service and care for my new car under Joe Vaughan's care. As a person who knows little about cars it is a great value for me to know that Joe will give knowledgeable and honest advice towards my cars maintenance and repair. Mr. Robert Finta sold my second Forester to me. Robert was informative and thorough and made the whole process unstressful and pleasant. I appreciated that Robert made the whole process more about finding a car for me and my needs, than about "making a sale". I will definitely buy my next car from Matthews.

I just bought a 2013 Outback. It's the first Subaru I've ever owned and I was impressed with the dealership and my salesman, Bill Kulka. I had a list of features that I wanted included and he found the perfect car for me. The day I picked it up, he took the time to explain how things worked. These days with all the technology, it can be a little overwhelming but he was patient and answered all my questions. An added bonus was a full tank of gas when I drove away!

Just purchased a 2014 Kia Sorento from Matthews Import Center with Mary Lou Alger as my sales person. Now I know why they call her Princess Kia! Her no pressure sales approach, friendly, helpful and even made the transaction happen quickly so I could take the car on a trip planned for the upcoming weekend. She was very knowledgeable, spent time going over how to use the various features of the car and I left the dealership ready to use the blue tooth, navigation and other features. We had a wonderful experience when we purchased our new 2014 Subaru Forester. All of our preliminary questions were fully answered by our salesperson, Bill Kalka. He responded very timely and followed through with getting the new registration in place and getting the insurance in place with our insurance agent, so that the car was all ready to be picked up on the date that we wanted to pick it up. We were very pleased and love our new car. Bill also took the time to explain everything about the new car and gave us a nice "walk-through" on the features and also helped to get my phone connected to the blue tooth technology which is a feature on our new car... We also like the Matthews rewards program with the points that you can earn when you get serviced and the discounts that are offered at local merchants. The buying process was super-easy for us, which most buyers love.. (very low stress) The price was a fair and very good price for the car and the customer service was top-notch!! We were extremely happy with the whole experience... Thanks Bill Kalka and Matthews Imports!!

I recently bought a new holdover 2012 Mazda 3 iTouring Skyactiv from Matthews Mazda at the Import Center. I worked exclusively with Noelle Dalfonso and couldn't have been more satisfied with the experience. Having never purchased a new car before, I had heard horror stories about badgering sales folk and hidden fees. I shared what type of car I was looking at, and had the keys in my hand for a test drive within 5 minutes. Fell in love with the car, and made a rookie mistake of telling Noelle this. Didn't matter. She treated my like a person first, instead of a potential sale. I took a week to think about it, and though we spoke a few times, at no point did I feel pressured into a sale. In the end, I felt more than satisfied with the price I paid, and incredibly pleased with the service. (The Auto Awards are a nice bonus, too!) I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a Mazda in the Southern Tier. Just ask for Noelle.

Three years ago as I was nearing the end of a lease I stopped in to ask about a Miata. Mike McNeal went over all the details with me. He didnt have one at the time but expected several in the near future and promised to call me. In the next day or two I decided to stay with my current make and called Mike to tell him. He recommended I come in and drive a Miata anyway; maybe Id want one next time. I did, and three years later I did. Mike and everyone else I dealt with at Matthews were very easy to work with and accommodating for scheduling problems I had, not only for when I could come by but also for the date when I could take possession of the new Miata. Even the paperwork was handled painlessly and dealing with Mike was always fun. It says something about a salesperson that he went out of his way for me with no prospect for an immediate sale, and then took a comfortable, no-pressure approach with me when I returned.

I ended up coming to Matthews Import Center (Matthews) because it was simply the closest Subaru dealership to me. My original thought in coming here was to test trive one of the preowned Legacy Limiteds on the lot. This was only my second test drive overall since wrecking my 98 Honda CRV with 220k on it, and this has been my first car buying experience. I've watched my parents buy a lot of cars over the years, and I had certain expectations going into the car buying experience. These were exceeded in every way by Matthews Subaru. If you're anywhere in the upstate area and looking to pick one up, I would suggest calling Bill Skudder and stopping in. Matthews has a service rewards program (I'm not particularly sure about how wide-spread this phenomenon is nationwide, but it makes sense if you want to stick with dealer service for a few years). Bill's approach was fantastic, and he let me form my own opinions. In the end, I went with a new Legacy, because I was that confident in the buying process.

Have bought several v ehicles from the Matthews Group. Just purchased a 2014 Mazda CX-5 GT from Paul Sr./Paul Jr. at the Import Center. These folks have the process down to a science.....the exact car we wanted was brought to us from Pennsylvania. It was delivered, as promised in a couple of days with the mud flaps I requested and a bottle of touch-up paint in the glove compartment. Enjoying the ZOOM-ZOOM. Also own a CX-9 and a Miata which are all serviced at Matthews. Prefer to keep them ALL Mazda.

Gil Millard was extremely helpful when I had a concern about my alignment after my front tire went over the abyss when repairs were being done on the culvert in front of my driveway. They got me in, ran a quick test on the alignment and all was fine with the front end. The back end however was out of alignment but they were able to work me in and I was out within an hour. I have used Matthews for service for years and have always been happy with the service department. Very high quality of work and they work hard to get the work done in a timely manner.

Jim Fuller was terrific. Buying a new car was a very difficult decision for me. I had owned my Chevy Blazer for years, and it was the first vehicle I ever truly loved. Saying goodbye to this truck, however necessary, was really tough. Jim was very patient, and knowledgeable. He recommended leasing based on the number of miles I drive, and I am thrilled with my new Kia Soul. I never imagined I could be driving a brand new car for such a reasonable payment. Almost 3 years ago I bought a 2011 Kia Sportage. I had a great experience then. When I found I needed to readjust some of my expenses I looked into trading in the Sportage. I called Bill Kalka, who was my salesperson from buying my Sportage. He understood my situation and looked into the value of the Sportage and told me about the lease options going on with the Kia Optimas. I found out that the Sportage still had great value so I could pay off my existing loan and still have a down payment towards the lease. I was even able to up grade the Optima and get a moon roof. Bill did not have the one I wanted at his dealership but found one out of state.He set it up so that the car could be driven to Matthews the next day and with the help of title clerk Kathi Ryan (she stayed overtime to get the needed paperwork done to do the trade for the next day. Thank you Kathi.) I could have my new 2013 Kia Optima as soon as possible. A big thank you to Bill and Kathi and the Matthews team for making what was a tough decision quite an enjoyable time.

I've just completed my first leasing agreement with Matthews Kia for a 2013 Kia Soul + which will be used for local travels and errands . Being new to leasing I referred to Cars.com , JD Powers and other sources to prepare and learn about the car and the leasing process. After contacting Matthews Kia and a number of other regional Kia dealers via email regarding leasing , Barb Brown - Director of Customer Service immediately answered my request (not all Kia dealers did) and referred me to Bill Kalka - Kia Brand Specialist . Bill and I were able to correspond via email and phone and Bill was very helpful and considerate in answering my questions and walking me through the leasing process. After a test drive and meeting with Bill and discussing the Matthews 'one price no hassle' lease I was practically sold . I'll have to admit I was skeptical of the 'one price no hassle ' process but Bill knowledge of the product ,his professionalism and knowledge of the most recent rebate offerings enabled me to get an even better deal than originally thought. I've only had the car a week but it's everything I've expected and dealing with Bill and Matthews Kia has been a pleasant and unexpected pleasure. The ability to shop locally and support local business was a factor in my decision but even without that consideration and I'd recommend Matthews Kia and Bill Kalka without hesitation and look forward to working with them again ..Thank You Bill ..Thank You Barb .

This is the 2cd and 3rd car we have purchased from Matthews Auto. The sales staff there are some of the best around. Bill Kalka was so helpful in answering questions and making sure that we got what we wanted. He really did go above and beyond expectations which is something you do not see so much of in today's world. My wife and I have been buying cars from Mathews since 1994, when we bought a Concord, then a Jeep, then 2 Saturns and now we decided to try out the Kias. Bill was busy with others customers but made time for us and after a couple of Saturdays later. Here we are the owners of a 2014 Sorento. The process was smooth and we didn't make it easy, with complicated hours and alot done over the phone. But Bill and the staff did an excellant job. I absolutely dreaded looking for another car and by sheer coincidence ended up at the Matthews Kia dealership whose current service dept managers had previously maintained my very old saturn at the former Saturn dealership. I walked in and immediately was greeted by Bill Kalka, I had no idea I would leave there thinking I am buying a car.here. I test drove one recommended to me and liked it . I was satified with that but just sitting and chatting with Bill who listened to my "story" of what I really needed , what I wanted, what my crazy life is like with teenager and dogs.......he carefully listened, teased it all out and said........ I have a Kia Sportage out back that would work for you.....He brought it up and the minute I got in it. I knew it was meant for me. Bill was an amazing salesperson, never pushy, always listening carefully and putting the customer first. My husband and I have just purchased our 4th vehicle from Bill Kalka and Matthews Import Center. We began our relationship with Matthews and Bill after visiting another dealer and having a poor experience there. Bill was knowledgeable and friendly, friendly sincere not friendly fake. We felt comfortable right away and our decision to buy was not a high pressure ordeal that we have felt so many times before when searching for a new car. We unfortunately were always having to trade a vehicle that was upside down or not worth much but Bill was able to work it all out for us and make it happen within our budget. We never felt pressured and that was extremely important to us. We hated that other dealers would use the "what do I have to do to get you into this car" line on us. Almost feeling "chained" to the chair until you signed the papers. Not so with Matthews. No Pressure, NO hassle. It is was and is important to me that Bill Kalka listened me. Heard my concerns and allowed ME to make the decision to purchase a car or not to. (and it has been that we have walked away from Matthews because it just wasn't the "right time" to buy financially for us) But that was never an issue with Bill. He made us feel like he understood our needs and concerns and wanted nothing but our satisfaction. Rob Finta has been our salesman and contact person at Matthews for 8yrs. On a visit to Matthews, Rob once spent an entire afternoon with us calling his contacts for a dealer trade. When we took delivery of our new vehicle he explains all details of the vehicle and answered all questions we asked. Our recent purchase of a Subaru Crosstrek we requested one specific color and not only did he find it but called us with updates, sent a picture of the car and took delivery in a week. He has always been was very patient and professional with us when we were deciding on a car. We cannot say enough about Rob he is kind, he has never disappointed us, a very nice guy and great salesman. He is a asset to Matthews!! Matthews - you are not always going to get good reviews from customers because you can not please every customer that walks through your door that is a given but if you get bad reviews about Rob it is the customer NOT Rob! I had been so satisfied with nine years of driving my Subaru Legacy that I never considered any other make or dealership when it came time to retire my old reliable car at 95,000 miles. The process of purchasing the new vehicle could not have been more agreeable and patient. I have been traveling from New Jersey to broome county to do business with Paul Tierno Sr for years.I just recently bought two new Mazdas. I leased a CX5 and turned in a Mazda 3 and I love the CX5.I had told Paul when I picked up the CX5 that I wanted to buy another Mazda 3 sometime in the future. He called me when a fantastic offer became available from Mazda on the leftover 2012s a month later and I could not pass up the deal so I got one right away. I decided I needed a vehicle that was excellent in the weather conditions of upstate New York! Having had a Subaru in the past, I knew what I wanted and would be happy with. Having had a prior experience with a Matthews dealership, I knew that I had to go Matthews Import Center. Having been referred to Mike Redding by one of Subaru's "top" mechanics, Jimmy Thompson, I knew I would be in good hands. I was!!!! My experience was nothing but excellent, from the way I was treated by everyone when I walked through the doors. After letting Mike know my needs, my desires, and my limitations, he went about his business and came back to me with two options - no hassles - no back and forth, and it was my decision to choose. What a way to buy a car! I feel they gave me the best deal they could and included options that were beneficial for my satisfaction long term. Mike was very knowledgeable and was more than glad to answer any and all questions I threw at him. I drove out of Matthews yesterday with my new "Susie" Subaru Forester. I love it. It drives and rides great and gives me a real sense of safety and security. Mike explained all the features with me and even went on a short ride to make sure I didn't have any further questions. Then this morning he called to make sure I was still happy and to thank me for my business. Thank you Mike for your professionalism, helpfulness and friendliness in my car buying experience. LET IT SNOW - I now have a SUBARU!!!!!!! I also want to thank Lee Scott for his expertise in financing and to Jimmy Thompson for his enthusiasm for Subarus! I worked with Noelle for MONTHS to find the right car. Truth be told I thought I wanted a sportly black car (yes I am a typical female and was all about the color). Noelle found me several small sporty cars (and yes a couple were even black) but when it came down to it I just wasn't satisfied with the way they drove. She finally talked me into test driving a silver Chevy Malibu and I fell in love with it. She even went out of her way to get it from another Matthew's lot. Her patience with me thoughout the entire experience was award winning. I also worked with several other employees at Matthews Auto during my car buying experience. All of them were friendly and very helpful.

After having an accident that totaled my vehicle, shopping for a new one (especially with my husband deployed) was a daunting task. The first dealership I visited was Matthews Import Center. I had very specific ideas of what I was looking for. I had done copious research and came up with a few options. After driving one of my options, I decided it wasn't the car for me. The salesman, Bill tried to convince me it would work for me. That was the first turn off. I went home to regroup. After driving another at a different dealership, I knew precisely what I wanted. Like any responsible consumer, I began calling around to see where I could get a good price. I informed Bill that I had found it elsewhere for less. Rather than tell me what he could do for me, he launched into an assault on the other dealership. This struck me as, rather than friendly advice, a defensive move. The last comment Bill made was to tell me that when I came back he could get me whatever car I wanted...in any color I like. Not only had I already told him I didn't care about the color. As though all a woman knows, or cares about, is color. I did my due diligence and called the other dealership to be sure I was getting what I was told. The sales person assured me and even sent me a written statement by email WITHIN 20 MINS. I obviously went with the competition (as is there even was one).

Bought my Mazda 3 April 2012. My salesperson -- Noelle Dalfonso -- was extremely professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. As Matthews Import Center is about an hour from my home, I was unfamiliar with the local roads. Noelle suggested she accompany me on the test drive and she selected roads that demonstrated the attributes of the car -- hills, curves, 4-lane, etc. I have owned several cars during my lifetime -- this was the first Mazda -- and I can honestly say that this was the most pleasant "sales experience" of them all. I would strongly recommend Matthews and Noelle to friends.

I bought a 2010 Subaru Impressa from Matthew's Import Center in November, 2012. I was helped by Noelle and she made this daunting process so easy! I had a specific car in mind and she already pulled it and had it waiting in the front for me to test drive. This last weekend I was interested in a car on there lot. I called one of Matthews associated that morning find out if the car was still available before i drove over 2 hours to look at the car, and she assured me it was. I was 5 minutes from the lot when I got a phone call from one of the salesmen telling me that they had sold the car the previous day. I will never do business with these people. I wasted a whole day driving to look at a car that was never there, as well as $40 in gas. Never again!

I absolutely hate buying cars and was not looking forward to doing it. I went to Matthews to only drive a CX-5, as I already had in my mind I was not buying there but was buying in the Scranton area. I was then introduced to the most fabulous salesman ever, Paul! I ended up buying my car from Matthews and have been very pleased. Paul was wonderful and made buying a great experience. He was not pushy and did everything he could to get me the deal I wanted. There were a few issues after I bought the car and Matthews went above and beyond to make things right. I had previously had a bad experience at Matthews and was sure I would not do business with them ever. I am SO glad that I gave them another chance and SO happy I was introduced to Paul. If you are thinking of buying, ask for him, you will be glad you did! :)

The new car was ready in a timely manner with all add ons. Hope to get maintenance service at local Matthews Ford dealership but will travel to Binghamton if needed. Would highly recommend this dealership to anyone. No buyers remorse here.

I went to Matthew's when my Suzuki was on its last legs so I knew I had to purchase a car ASAP. I did my research on- line and went to Matthew's with a specific car in mind. When I called to set up an appointment, everyone I talked to was courteous and knowledgable. When I went to test drive the car, it was already pulled from the lot for me and I got in it right away. I was able to purchase the car that night and pick it up the very next day. All the paper work was taken care of by the next day when I went to pick the car up. It was the easiest transaction I have ever had and I love my pre-owned Subaru!

I purchased my 2012 Kia Rio in May 2012 after spending numerous hours in a few other dealerships. We spent weeks trying to get Miller Hyundai to make a deal with me and get me the car I wanted.
