Another exceptional experience at Mercedes Benz of Marin. I was returning my loaner vehicle to exchange for my personal vehicle and discovered the service department had closed 45 minutes prior. Herbert in Sales took full ownership of locating my completed vehicle, acquiring keys to the locked service bay and key safe to get me on the road again in my own car. I was never made to feel guilty or like I was inconveniencing him in any way. Yet again I fully experienced "The Best or Nothing" treatment at this dealership with our interaction and highly recommend this MB of Marin to anyone in need of sales or service.

I’ve had same Service Rep for years, but he retired. My new Service Rep, Mr. Angelo Gomez, was absolutely professional in every respect: friendly, patient, understanding, and so very knowledgeable about every question I had. I was totally at ease and confident from the beginning.The follow-up was quick and most responsive, and the service was done to my satisfaction. I was concerned about the new change of ownership, but Mr. Gomez and the Service Team have put my mind at rest. After 21 years of great service w/Mercedes Benz of Marin, I am happy to stay with MB of Marin (and hopefully Mr. Gomez!) for another 21 years!

I've always wanted a new Mercedes and finally decided on getting one. I looked at the local inventory (RAB Motors) and decided on the CLA. I made an online inquiry and one of their salespeople Price Jessup called me soon after. I went by after work and Price showed me a few different options. I returned with my wife the next weekend and we got the car. I couldn't be happier. I was a little apprehensive at first going to a dealer. You always think you're going to be pressured into something you don't want or can't afford. There was none of that. Price was very professional and a pleasure to work with. I'll be back for my next Mercedes!

I purchased a Used 2011 Honda CR-V from Mercedes-Benz of Marin and cannot say enough good things about the Sales Consultant Carlos Mariano. After a months of searching tirelessly for the perfect car I found it here. Frustrated from working with competing dealers, Carlos was a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong, I understand SALES...but Carlos was genuine, honest, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. I never once felt like he was pushing for a sale, rather working with me to make sure we found my match. Carlos went out of his way to make sure I was aware of all of my options prior to purchase. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND to work around my schedule, selling me my dream car far past normal business hours. Even then I did not feel pressured or rushed. He was responsive and answered my numerous calls to him throughout the buying process (sorry Carlos!). I felt very supported and could not have had a better experience purchasing my first car. I named my new car Carlos after you my friend :)

I would highly recommend Mercedes Benz of Marin. When dealing with a local dealer something just did not feel right. I found the same vehicle at the Marin dealership and after one call knew that Price at Marin Mercedes Benz was a person I wanted to conduct business with. I drove 2 hours one way and purchased the SUV that was a perfect fit for our family and was treated very well. Great dealership that I highly recommend and would purchase from again! Me and my father had brought both our cars from Price and he is great like the Superman of car salesmen, this will be explained later in my review! Price sold my father a 2011 Mercedes C300 Sport and did a phenomenal sale on it, as my Dad is retired he had trouble getting a car loan but Price managed to do and get it at the price which was in my Dads budget. I was rather shocked that he managed such a sale but Price knew what my Dad wanted and pushed to get it and really went the extra mile. On top of that I am 25 and needed a car to get to my work which is 35 miles from me, my Dad called up Price about a Volvo S40 from 2009 he had for sale. Price asked us to come see him, gave us a test drive and pushed the car loan through and by the next day we had the car. He was kind enough to take some money off the car as well as he knew it was my first car, reducing a small profit margin he had. The car he sold me is not showy but is mechanically completely solid with clear body work as well an great alloy wheels. I have to say I am surprised to have such a great first car, Price did not skip on explaining us the process and knew that I wanted a sportier car when I have the money asking us to come back. I know for sure when I pay off this car loan I am going back to him to get another, he really goes the extra mile makes you feel welcome to be there and wants you leaving with a smile on your face, which both times we brought cars from him we did.

We just purchased another car at RAB, and were fortunate enough to work with Fred Scherer. Found him by checking recommendations on Yelp, and he exceed the high expectations those reviews set. He was very friendly and pleasant, exceedingly diligent and helpful, and thoroughly professional. This was our second purchase from RAB in the last 18 months, and we simply recommend this dealer without reservations. The sales person we had worked with the last time was no longer there, but Fred did a wholly admirable job, making the experience very pleasant, efficient and fair. Service at RAB (soon to be called Mercedes of Marin) has been excellent in all respects and very helpful, as well.

Barry Flores and his team at RAB motors put everything in order for our purchase. We first worked with a dealer in SF for a vehicle and financing but found that Barry was much more accommodating and communicative and that's what we were looking for. We waited for the right color, make and model to arrive and it was without any pressure in the meantime to get us into a vehicle that we didn't specify. Overall a great experience for our second Mercedes for our family, and our first from RAB motors.

Buying a car is sometimes a necessary thing, but in my experience, is typically an unpleasant, time consuming event. However, my experience at RAB was actually quite different. Everyone that my husband and I dealt with were very professional and provided great service. We left with a new car after about 3 hours feeling satisfied with our purchase.

I am a UK citizen who has been in the USA for 7 months and needed to lease a car for 2 years.I was either turned down or given hugely inflated quotes by several famous marques and then I was recommended to go to Price Jessup at RAB Mercedes in San Rafael.Price was amazing and I now have a superb C class Mercedes at a fabulous rate.I recommend this dealer 100%.

My wife, daughter, son and I went to RAB Motors to renew our lease this morning.Jerry Malone was our Sales Consultant. I had only 1 thing that i wanted to accomplish: A lowmonthly payment on a reliable family car. Jerry showed me several options within my price range and even (get this) drove my kids around on the Golf Cart as we shopped the car lot (The kids loved it). We settled on a 2015 Mercedes GLA45!!! He was a perfect salesman and gentleman.Bottom line, we left happy!I'm a proud second generation Mercedes owner, and after our experience my kids may continue the legacy!

I brought my car in for extensive work, so I knew I would be paying a great deal, but work needed to be done. One of the job was the power seats. I left my car for the entire day for a good diagnostic and work. I got a call with an estimate, I decided I would not have the power seat repaired at the time, the cost was too exorbitant (1400 dollars). The technician said there were a lot of wires down there, motors, blah blah blah.. I picked up my car and took it home. The detail fellows did and outstanding job, the car looked new... thanks guys. So, here's where the experience went south. RAB has a professional staff, very, thorough, even the car wash and details was great. The job I had done, no complaints. The cost was high, but you get what you paid for... again, no complaints, I was satisfied. A few months has gone by, I still need to have the power-seat repairs. I just cant wrap my mind around the cost... outch. I decided to do the work myself. I did my homework, it wasn't too difficult, a few bolts, unplug wires and replace the motor. I visited a MB forum on-line, where other MB owners share their MB experience. Turns out, another fellow had the same exact problem with his power seat. I read further to discover, he checked a fuse and found it to be the culprit. A fuse??? I checked mine and lo and behold, a fuse!!! RAB was going to charge me over 1400 dollars for a fuse. I want to believe that this professional, detailed oriented repair service organization would not stoop to the level of dishonesty, but because they are so detailed oriented, I cannot believe this was something they did not discover... it would be the first thing they should have checked, process of elimination, before you get down to "all those wires, motors, blah, blah, blah"... I dont think I will be taking my car there again...

I purchased a used Honda from RAB Motors about a week ago. I had a great experience dealing with the internet sales manager, Daniel Cooper. He was sympathetic to my requirements and quoted a fair price for the car. I was not overly rushed to purchase and was treated with respect throughout the process. During my comparison shopping with nearby Honda dealerships, I was not treated with near as much courtesy.Overall the vehicle I purchased is in great shape and the shopping experience was pleasant. I recommend working with Daniel Cooper and RAB Motors.

DANIEL COOPER!!! THANKYOU!!!!! Thankyou to Daniel Cooper(Diirector) of the internet sales team and the financing officer for providing the best car buying experience of my Lifetime. My fiance and myself live in SoCal and had been screening the internet looking for a competitive deal in the San Diego/Los Angeles Area. We found a couple of fair opportunities but were turned off by their internet sales reps or the dealerships weak reputation. The expanded search found a motivating deal on the lot of RAB Motors. Checked out the dealership and found it to be highly reputable. Called and talked to Daniel. No pressure, excellent communication, and no-hassle straight up conversation. Daniel worked with us in making the deal happen in our time frame. The next day we were on a plane from San Diego to Oakland and drove it back that same day. It was worth every penny of our 8 hour drive straight back. Long Day...but we have a beautiful 2012 C250 sitting in our garage. The car is what we wanted, but I don't know that we would have taken the trip if it wasn't for the excellent representation provided by Daniel Cooper, Director of the Internet Team. I'm not the easiest customer, and....I do my homework. That being said...Next Mercedes, RAB Motors gets the first shot on our business. Worth another trip to the Bay Area. Thanks also to the financing guy(forgot your name sorry). Sure made it fun and worthwhile.

I leased a E350 blu tech in 2011. Although there was some confusion around what RAB would do when I wanted to buy the car in 2012, I went ahead with the deal. I had had a beautiful 1993 mercedes which had been totaled in an accident but which I had always had serviced at RAB. The service department is great. Eliseo Estrada is just fantastic. Gets the job done no matter how long it takes and for a fair price. I wish I could say the same for the sales department. To make a very long story short, without even explaining anything to me about the process, Brent told me that I needed to bring the car in to be pre-certified before I could buy it. Ok- I brought it in. I signed no paperwork even through I asked him about this and he told me not to worry. We would get to it. When I went to pick up the car, Brent was not there but Eliseo let me take it, assuming that it was ok since no one had told me that RAB now owned the car!! The next day I got a frantic call from Brent, telling me that I had to come down and sign the paperwork. I should not have been allowed to take the car! We were leaving that day to take my son off to his freshman year at college in Oregon. After telling Brent that there was no way that I could get down that day ( and I had not even completed a credit application), he said he would call me back. I immediately called and asked for the manager, Rick, and let him know in no uncertain terms how unhappy I was. I told him that I no longer wanted to deal with Brent and he said fine that he would work with me. He faxed me a "borrowed car agreement" and we took my son to school. When I returned, I completed the credit application and Rick said that he would send someone to my house to complete the transaction. Who did he send? Brent! Will I take my car to Eliseo? Absolutely! Will I buy another car from RAB? No way!!!

I want folks to know how impressed I was by Carlos Mariano's professionalism. He was honest and forthright with information that many salesmen would have been reluctant to share - or would have certainly sugarcoated. He proactively made the decision to have the minor damage on the car repaired in an effort to close the deal. A smart, forward-thinking move given that he guaranteed, in my opinion, the sale of that car in the very near future to someone who would have hesitated to buy it with the damage. Additionally, Carlos continued to keep us apprised of the situation on a daily basis without being overbearing - that's a fine line, and he walked it perfectly. In the end, my wife's decision was not based on the situation surrounding the rear bumper, but purely on finding a car that she felt was a better fit for her tastes and very active lifestyle. Carlos Mariano may not have closed this deal, but he impressed a potential client and guaranteed himself, and R.A.B. Motors, that they will always be in contention when, in the future, this couple looks for a new or used vehicle. Thank you!

I have had a string of unfortunate experience with RAB Motors. RAB Motors have taken advantage of both the service and sales department. There is a long list of misrepresentations that have occurred . However, It is a quite costly for one or two individuals to take an action against car dealers.

Just bought a 2012 C63 AMG from their internet sales department. Daniel Cooper was my contact through the whole purchase experience. I live in Minnesota, and have never purchased a car online before. Hands down this has been by far the best car buying experience ever. I shopped locally for the car originally, but left every dealership with a feeling that I was just a walking checkbook. To sum up my whole experience it's six stars, and now five.

Here is a portion of the email i sent to mbusa in regard to RAB San RafealI am unhappy with what I consider to be abhorrent customer service on behalf of RAB motors. I have owned many MBs and dealt with many dealerships across the county and I will detail as to why I feel my experience with RAB Motors has been by far the dirtiest. My RAB Motors nightmare began on Sunday when my battery died for a second time just a few days after a being jumped by RAB the first time. I was told that I was denied my 24 hour 7 day a week roadside assistance because RAB was closed and SF and Oakland refused to cross the bridges. This is unacceptable. I was told I would have to wait until the next morning (Monday) to get a jump / have my battery tested. I made a 7:30 am Monday appointment on Sunday after being refused roadside assistance. He arrived around 8:45. I then asked if I could have my battery replaced and he said he would have to test it first. I was told that the battery tested at 11 volts and was therefore fine and needed to be brought into RAB for a diagnosis as to what was draining the battery. Upon arrival you originally told me that the diagnosis would cost $175 not covered by my warranty. After complaining as to the cost I was told it would be waived. While waiting I introduced myself to Greg LaPierrre the Director of Pre-Owned Vehicles for RAB. I told him I was contemplating selling my vehicle and asked for an estimate. When I had a surprised reaction to what I considered a low ball offer he went nuts and basically threw me out of his office. He seemed mentally unstable. At this point, I was in disbelief as to how I was being treated and requested to speak to someone in charge. I complained to Robert Kane, whom I felt could care less. I felt completely stonewalled by RAB and felt that my only recourse was to reach out to Mercedes Benz Customer Advocacy for help. I was then informed by RAB that the drain on my battery was caused by a radar detector that altered the factory specs. This is untrue, no factory wires or setting were altered and the radar is plugged into a non-used ignition location. Also as my installer pointed out in writing to you the Radar turns off when the car is off therefore a battery drain is not possible. Furthermore the Radar detector was installed nearly two years ago and the battery just began to drain this week. This makes little sense. It seems more likely to me that my 2008 ML (not 2007 as your email title states) battery has just gone bad over the past 3 years having nothing to do with the radar. However, at this point I was informed that the $175 diagnostic fee that was waived is now a $262.50 fee to remove the Radar to bring the wiring back to factory specs in order to conduct the diagnosis

I worked with the internet sales guys, and the sale process couldn't have gone any smoother. I told them what I wanted in the morning and by the afternoon they had the car prepped and all the paper work tied up. Great sales experience.

Took my 2007 Mercedes CPO with supposed warranty in for three defects the first 10 months. To my surprise none of them were covered or so they said. Went to another dealer and all was covered and repaired properly. Terrible dealership! PS 2007 Mercedes GL450 and all of the chrome trim is pitted and of course not covered by warrant according to RAB.

WARNING: Avoid doing any kind of business with RAB dealership in San Rafael, CA. The employee that sold the new Mercedes to my wife and I made several dishonest statements and unkept promises to sell the car. While we were completing the paperwork, another RAB employee entered the office and began to attempt to sell a "special" paint coating. We indicated that we were not interested in the product. The employee continued on for thirty minutes to the point of harrassing us for not buying the product. We should have walked out of the RAB dealership then, but did not. The employee from the finance department entered the office with the sales agreement. My wife and I stated to the finance person that we wanted to check the paperwork before signing. It was good that we did check because there was a substantial error in the calculations, in RAB's favor. The RAB employee did not apologize for making the error, but did correct the error. Needless to say, purchasing a new Mercedes from RAB Motors was a very unpleasant experience. Several months later I received a letter from Mercedes Corporation that an update for the navigation system was available. One of the statements that the salesperson promised to my wife and I is that the updates for the navigation system are free of charge. RAB Motors attempted to charge us for the update. I contacted Mercedes Benz Corporation and they in turn contacted RAB Motors and the updated software was sent to us, without charge, as was originally promised by the RAB salesperson. Long story short, buy your Mercedes at any dealership other than RAB Motors in San Rafael, CA. I am not alone with my disatisfaction of RAB Motors, just read all of the other evaluations of the dishonest practices that occur at RAB Motors by RAB employees. The most dishonest dealer I have ever dealt with. I was told many many lies so I can purchase the car. I have since found out that the sales person said whatever he wanted to say to sell the car. Unfortunately I did not ask him to put it in writing. Lesson learned. I would never make that type of a mistake again!

Very rude and condescending. I would not stop by this dealership for free coffee let alone spend $35,000 there. Good luck with that attitude in this economy. Half truths, partial truths, and fiction is what this sales person specializes in. Mercedes quality has slipped globally anyway, so I'll just meander down to Lexus to make my purchase.

Brought car in for service every year with same mechanical problems. Rattles, squeeks and electronics. Have not been able to fix problems now going on 3 years.Service contact person challenges every complaint. Very rude! I will never take my Mercedes back to this dealer.

My comments pertain to shop service. An error was made and my car was damaged. After some discussion, R.A.B. stood behind their service, even though they could have denied responsibility. It cost them about $2,500 to have a local body shop repair my vehicle and they gave me a free loaner car ('09 E350) during the repair. What more could they have done?Of course I'd rather it had not happened but they made it right and I respect their General Manager and Service Manager for doing so.

Friends, Please do not patronize RAB dealership! They are ruthless car sharks. The only thing they seem to respect and cater to are the ultra-rich richies of Marin. Here is my story: In 2002, I paid them all cash for my first new sports car, which ran great. In 2006, I traded that car in for a Certified Pre-Owned car (first time I bought used) that, it immediately became apparent once major stuff had to be replaced, was not up to snuff. Seven major repairs and 14 months later, after the car sat in their shop all last week with a major electrical issue, I threatened to contact M-B USA and surprise, then RAB management was suddenly willing to talk to me. They offered to first pay 50% and later 100% of this latest very expensive repair OR to "replace" my car. Great, I thought, and went with high hopes to meet with the General Sales Manager and find a new vehicle. He was a strange bird, nervous as an actor auditioning and no common sense that I could detect. He and another manager on the floor joined us for a very bizarre discussion that centered around the wealth of their Other Clients, while he read my complaint letter to M-B USA out loud. I am not kidding when I tell you that all they did to refute my points were to talk about the ultra-rich in Marin who can "afford" to throw money at problems like the ones my car (a high-end luxury vehicle, $100K new) has had. Really? ... RAB wanted to pay me $18,000 on a trade to get me to lease something else! When the Kelly Blue Book on the car is $35K. They said they don't go by KBB. ?! They sure went by KBB when they took my wonderful sports car in on this trade! After the smoke cleared, I decided to take back my (for now) fixed car. I am writing M-B USA to let them know what kind of tacky people are selling their product. I do believe in M-B cars' safety and I loved the way my sports car handled and this car too when it's running fine. $18,000! What an insult. And here I thought they were trying to rectify a bad situation. They are ruthless, strongarming, and only hungry for money. After these latest shenanigans their "management" pulled, I am never setting foot in RAB again (though I have had a good relationship with my Service Advisor since 2002). I'm finding a private mechanic. If you value your dignity and have any sense of business ethics, please stay clear of these people. Their mechanics do a good job of fixing things that should have been working in the first place, but snakes are running this dealership, plain and simple.

Overpromise and Underdeliver...way under!Against the advice of friends and colleagues, I gave in to temptation and purchased a vehicle from R.A.B. Motors. Now I have a new $80,000 vehicle that handles like a '76 Chevy Nova with speakers that sound like a transistor radio and a navigation system that requires a Ph.D. in Chinese algebra to operate. The vehicle has been in the shop 3 times in the first 90 days, and they have yet to address any of the problems. The dealer's response, essentially, has been "Hey, your car...your problem". In fairness, I should disclose that they did kindly offer to buy the vehicle back....AT $18,000 below the payoff amount and $14,000 below the wholesale value. "First class customer experience"...please - it's the same customer experience that you'll get at Vinny's Auto Sales (complete with the smarmy sales representative who will run back and forth between his office and "his manager" and "the finance guy" about a dozen times "to get you the absolute best deal"). The second you sign on the dotted line, your just another sucker that's stuck with an expensive vehicle. They know it, you know it, and they know that you know it - and you know what? That's the whole idea - that's actually their business model. Do yourself a favor folks, run - don't walk - and find yourself a reputable dealer. You'll be glad you did.

I would strongly encourage any prospective buyer to be cautious in terms of purchasing any new Mercedes at R.A.B. Motors - particularly if it's a virtual "not in stock" or "build-to-order" buy; that is, if it's a transaction where the vehicle is not physically on the R.A.B. Motors' sales lot. In short, I had a very bad experience and question R.A.B.'s commitment to customer service at all levels - from sales and, with all due respect, to ownership. While perhaps an aberration, our experience with R.A.B was at best sloppy & unprofessional and.... at worst, our experience was full of misrepresentation(s), dysfunction, disingenuous and disrespectful behavior. Notably, we ended up buying the same model from a another dealership via (of all things) our Costco Membership - Strange, but true!

I have had good experience with R.A.B Motors in part because I ask questions and specify what, exactly is to be done to my car. To avoid unpleasant surprises I always ask for an estimate before approving any work on my car. The staff seems not to change, is friendly and tries to make the owner's car service task as easy as possible. It's not cheap but one does get good service that's in keeping with owning a Mercedes-Benz.

Very disappointed in these guys. I contacted all the local dealers looking for an SLK55 to test drive.This one called me back and said they had one in stock, come on up and try it out.I took an hour and drove up there, where the manager flat out said 'We don't test drive these vehicles'. A complete waste of 2 hours of my time.Um, excuse me, but am I crazy for wanting to test drive a vehicle before I spend $75,000 on it?!??If that weren't bad enough, they were trying to gouge me for $5k over MSRP where I've been able to get one from another dealer for $1700 off MSRP.
