I have bought and sold a lot of cars over the years (it's quite an addiction really). Whenever possible I try to purchase from private parties because you always know what you're getting and it avoids all the hassles associated with every dealer I've ever experienced. When I set out to buy my dream car, a 2014 BMW M5 there were several on the market within 500 miles of DC. The first one I checked out in person was at Motorcars Washington. I was skeptical at first, but meeting Jarrod for the first time really reminded me of dealing with a private owner. He was extremely passionate about the cars, and knew way more about them than even most BMW sales reps. There was no pressure ever and was extremely easy to negotiate and complete the sale with over the month I took to make a decision. As a bonus, the delivery experience was outstanding and took no time at all - again, unlike other dealerships. I would surely recommend Jarrod and Motorcars Washington and appreciate being able to conduct a transaction as if it were his own personal car.

This is the first car I've bought without seeing it in person, Jarrod handled it for me entirely by phone and email. I was nervous about buying a $120k exotic used car over the internet, but the entire experience was outstanding. It has completely restored my faith that there are dealers out there who truly care about customer service, that go the extra mile, and that handle every request, email, phone interaction, and question with professionalism. There was NEVER any pressure, the price was fair, and they even took the car to get it serviced and checked at their own expense and threw in my next maintenance on the car as well. I probably exchanged 25 emails over the two week process and Jarrod answered every one quickly and politely... I requested additional pictures be taken, I asked them to do research on the car, I asked for the car fax, the window sticker, the service records, and then MORE pictures. Each time, Jarrod happily did what I asked within hours and never gave me the whole "you need to put down money to show me you're serious" routine. I offered to put down a deposit to hold the car, and was told it wasn't necessary... the car was pulled off the website and reserved for me as I finished the paperwork and financing. That's unheard of in my experience. Paperwork was handled well, they brought in a highly reliable closed-bed auto transport company to ship it to me cross-country (to San Francisco... about as far away as possible in the U.S.) and it arrived here perfectly, with all records, books, keys, accessories... everything they said it would have and more. Jarrod's made me a customer for life... Despite being 3000 miles away, I'll be buying future cars from Motorsports Washington.

I recently sold my M3 to Motorcars Washington. Jarrod was fantastic! He appreciated the condition of the vehicle and valued it fairly. While I wasn't shopping that day, the showroom was filled with high-end cars in excellent condition. If you are in the market, I highly recommend a visit.

I was searching for a very specific Audi R8 and came across Jared at Motorcars Washington. From start to finish the communication was excellent and professional. This was not an "in-person" purchase since Motorcars Washington is in Virginia and I am in Nebraska. Nevertheless the whole experience was smooth and painless, unlike other car buying situations. Jared helped me arrange shipping for my vehicle and it arrived in beautiful condition. I have purchased many vehicles over the years and I honestly can say this was one of my best experiences. Jarod was very helpful. I will be contacting Motorcars Washington for my next purchase.

I recently purchased a 1993 VR Touring RX7 from Jarrod. The buying experience was extremely simple and the transaction went without a hitch, I never felt any worries in both buying a car sight unseen or wiring the money and needing to wait for the title. The detail that Jarrod went into, both pros AND cons of vehicle were right on. It was as if I were looking at the car myself. You can tell the level of standards that Jarrod and his company hold themselves to which I believe others could use a lesson in. The purchase time line was that I purchased the car on a Thursday, the car was on a transport truck on Friday, and the car was in my garage Saturday at noon. Also, the car came with temp tags to make it easier to get registered and a full tank of gas - the perfection in the sales process lies in the details - both of these were never mentioned during the sales process, a nice surprise. You can't a new car that fast at your local dealer, let alone 5 states away. I will, without hesitation, deal with Jarrod in the future when it's time to purchase another car.

I recently purchased a 1993 Mazda RX7 from Jarrod whom I had spoken with in the past. I have been looking for a low mileage vehicle for a while and when I contacted Jarrod it took all of 5 minutes to agree on a realistic sale price. The car was purchased sight unseen and all confidence was put into Jarrod's description of the vehicle as he completed a complete walk around and interior review while I was on the phone. The vehicle was purchased the next day, Jarrod set up transport that same day, and the car was transported to my home a day later. My first impression of the car when seen for the first time, better than the pictures made it look, and temporary tags and a full tank of gas which were never mentioned during our conversation. This make me believe that this is the normal course of complete a sale. The car was EXACTLY as mentioned 100% and the customer service is something other dealers should take a lesson from. This car will be enjoyed for a while and when it's time to change, Jarrod will be getting a call from me to do it all over again - Thanks for a great experience.

Unless you are a business person buying a car is likely to be the second largest purchase you make, and it is often an unpleasant experience. It was such a wonderful surprise when I called from out of state and got Jarrod on the phone. He had the car I wanted, quickly said yes to my fair offer, and just like that we had a win-win. He then made it his business to arrange for shipping at a good price and up to the high standard this guy obviously has for customer care. The driver even commented on what a good guy Jarrod is. It felt almost like a friend had surprised me with a favor. I have a feeling I'll be going back to in the future.

Having purchased luxury and exotic cars from dealerships across the country, I can honestly offer that Jarrod and his team are the best in the industry. Jarrod was extremely accommodating and patient as I worked through the evaluation (PPI), negotiation, and sale. The car was exactly as represented and all documentation and history were provided immediately upon request. Jarrod arranged a comprehensive test drive and provided his full support and attention during the test. He negotiated fairly and completed the transaction quickly. I look forward to purchasing cars from MW in the future and would recommend them without reservation. For out-of-town or sight-unseen buyers, Jarrod will provide full and accurate descriptions and will work hard to ensure that the car delivered is 100% as represented.

I had been in the market for a barely used upscale vehicle for some time. We had visited several dealers in the area where we live, & I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Additionally, I just hated the experience that "the deal is only good for one day" or "someone else is going to get this car if you don't buy it right now", etc. I was getting frustrated on all fronts. Then, I saw Jarrod's listing at Motorcars Washington with a vehicle that had all the specifications I was looking for. I emailed him, & he texted me back right away answering all of my questions. We then spoke over the phone. Because the dealer was about 2 hours away from where we live, I wanted to make sure we negotiated the price before I made the drive up. It was extremely easy & Jarrod provided me with a lot of additional information regarding the vehicle including about 45 pictures. I felt immediately comfortable with his responsiveness, honesty & friendliness. It was such a welcome change to what I had been dealing with. The dealership was supposed to be closed the only day we could drive up, but he came in just for us. He was just as nice & amicable in person as he had been over the phone & text. He had already completed the paperwork for us, & let us take as much time as we wanted with our car & others we saw in the dealership. When we decided we were going to buy the vehicle we came to see, there was no long drawn out sales pitch for warranties or add ons...the paperwork literally took five minutes! He even texted us after we left that afternoon to see if we had made it back home okay & if we had any questions regarding the car. Of course I did, & he answered them right away. He treated us like old friends even though we were buying probably the least expensive car in his dealership. Next time I am in the market for a car, I will get Jarrod to look for it for me instead of the tedious dealership nightmares. I would recommend Motorcars Washington to ANYONE within 500 miles who is looking for an upscale car with a dealer you can actually trust.

I've been looking to upgrade my daily driver for a month or so. I found exactly what I was looking for from Motorcars Wahsington located in Chantilly, Virginia. The buying experience was excellent. I had a chance to meet and talk with Jarrod Elwinger who is the owner of Motorcars Washington. You walk into his first class showroom and he meets you at the door. You immediately recognize his "what you see is what you get" demeanor and are drawn to his genuine and infectious enthusiasm. You look around his showroom and see what will likely to be his key to success. Jarrod has a gift for finding, displaying, representing, and selling all varieties of beautiful, previously enjoyed, well maintained automobiles. Many if not most every car in his showroom was an expensive classic. Make no mistake, however, Jarrod applies his talent to finding beautiful previously owned cars of any model or make. Jarrod found, and I bought, a 2K mile Toyota Tacoma. He had it displayed in his showroom with Audi's, Austin Martin's, Bentley's, BMW's, and Ferrari's. The Tacoma was so nicely upgraded and well detailed that it did not look out of place among cars priced 3,4 and 5 times that of the Tacoma. Jarrod finds and deals in cars that have "eyes" of their own. I wouldn't hesitate telling Jarrod what you are looking for and letting him find it for you. When I purchased my car Jarrod and I exchanged a couple of emails. Via email we agreed on the general terms of a sale. He did everything he said he would do. No games, no haggling, no drama, and no hassles. How often have you been able to say that your automotive buying experience was a pleasure? It was a pleasure to do business with someone who cares, loves what he does, whose words and deed match, and who openly believes in the pursuit of something greater than himself. Buying my car from Motorcars Washington was a one of a kind experience. Jarrod was awesome throughout the process. He was completely honest, always responded to my calls and emails, and gave me the best price I could find on my car. I'm 8 hrs away and many days I was even able to reach him after hours. Unlike the typical car buying experience, I really got the feeling that I could trust Jarrod. I bought the car sight unseen and he set up shipping for me and even called to confirm its arrival. After almost two years of research travel, down payments, and disappointments my son sent me an e-mail with a link to Motorcars Washington. As did hundreds of e-mails prior, it took me to tab advertising our dream for sale. We had learned from our experiences not to get our hopes up when we came across what appeared to be the car with our name on it for not all providers had been as pleasant and honest with us as Jarrod. As much as we had our hearts set on purchasing our car sooner than later the fact that we were a 6-hour drive away was a major concern. Jarrod always had time to discuss any question or concern that I had in the time leading up to our venture and he patiently worked with me to develop a well-oiled plan that would bring the three of us together. This quickly eliminated any hesitation I had to make the drive and replaced it with excitement. We could not be happier with our decision to go to Motorcars Washington. I've experienced quite a few dealers in my past. Most of the time, even with high end cars, the salesperson doesn't know very much about the car he is selling. In this case however, Jarrod knows about his cars and cars in general. He is a true enthusiast as myself. The purchasing process was easy, the car was as he explained, and I was given a very fair trade in value for my car. Great purchasing experience!

Buying experience was excellent. Jarrod was great. Very responsive, very straight forward. I definitely don't think I could of got the car I purchased, with the specs it had, for the price I paid anywhere else. This is the first used car buying experience I have ever had, and I definitely know if Im in the market for another high end car, Motorcars Washington is going to be the first place I look. Words can't explain the level of satisfaction I have with the dealership and Jarrod. Thanks again for everything. Now it is time to go drive my new car.

He has a poor attitude. No matter how many times you miss an appointment if you give notice and still willing to look at a car then I feel the salesperson should be willing to work with you. Jarrod is not that person. He seems to be in the wrong profession.

I recently purchased an Aston Martin from Jarrod at Motorcars Washington. All I can say is AWESOME. Buying a car from Jarrod is not like any car buying experience I have ever had and I have bough allot of cars. Jarrod gave me a great deal, took care of all of my concerns and treated me like a friend, not just a customer or number. If you are looking for a car, and are considering Jarrod, do not hesitate. You will not be dissapointed and will walk away with a great car and a new friend. By the way, this is the first time I have EVER written a review. I just felt like I had too because I was so satisfied with Jarrod and Motor Cars Washington.

This was the first time I bought a used vehicle from a dealer on the internet. Jarrod was super helpful and his inventory was awesome. He graciously accepted my promise to buy as the only commitment from me and was patient as I got my financing sorted out. He went out of his way to get my tags, even picked me up from home. He will be my first stop for my next one too.

Attempting to sell my high-end Italian car in this economy on my own was incredibly frustrating and ultimately fruitless. After a few months of dealing with lowballers and tire kickers I was ready to try something different. I decided to work with an consignor who deals with high-end cars. Someone suggested I call Jarrod at Motorcars Washington. I called late at night and expected to get an afterhours voicemail but he answered my call. We talked about the car and he asked questions specific to the model which instantly boosted my confidence. He was professional and came across as polished and experienced on our introductory phone call. His shop is minutes from Dulles airport, so I dropped the car off at his showroom on the way out of town. He was kind enough to give me a ride to the airport. Within a few days he had professionaly detailed the car and uploaded high quality pictures of the car on his website. Jarrod handled the lowballers, tire kickers, and riff raff and let me know of any legitimate offers. Within several weeks, he had a buyer for the car. The deal is done and I have a fat check. I never felt like I was dealing with a car salesman. Jarrod cares about his clients first, and the deals second. This has been a seamless and painfull process. Guess where I am buying my next ride?

At first I was cautious about dealing over the internet on a certain car that Motorcars Washington had in their inventory because I didn't know the dealership, and I am located all the way in Missouri. Made arrangements to fly out there to see the car, and was blown away by the excellent customer service and attention to detail at every turn. I was picked up from the airport by Jarrod, and he even drove me to a hotel that night and back to Motorcars Washington in the morning to start on my driving trek back to Missouri in my new car! I highly recommend Jarrod and Motorcars Washington; it's the best car buying experience I've had thus far!

Jarrod and his team at Motorcars Washington quite simply made this the best car buying experience I've ever had. Their integrity and transparency throughout the transaction was evident, and truly sets MCW apart. They truly value their client's needs and preferences over their own bottom-line, which in this day and age was utterly refreshing. Jarrod consistently went out of his way - at no small expense - to ensure my complete satisfaction...and I know that as a very particular (picky) client, I'm not always easy to please. Jarrod exceeded all of my service expectations. Thanks again to Jarrod and MCW for instilling complete confidence in every phase of my car purchase, and making the delivery experience so special. I normally do not write reviews either good or bad, but my multiple experiences with Motorcars Washington and in particular the owner Jarrod have compelled me to share with the masses. I have now bought 3 cars over the last several years with Jarrod and his attention to detail and customer service have been impeccable. From helping me find the car or suv that would suit my needs and wants, to negotiating a fair price, to delivering on his promises, Motorcars Washington is truly unique in the car buying world. Simply the best car buying experience I have ever had. Jarrod at Motorcars Washington was nothing short of incredible. He went above and beyond to ensure that my purchase went smoothly. I was never pressured or ever felt uncomfortable during the entire process. The on-line photos of the vehicles offered are excellent and were extremely helpful in my decision to purchase. I traveled from out of state to test drive the vehicle and Jarrod took the time to show the car on his day off. The Porsche Boxter S that I purchased came with aftermarket wheels on the vehicle. The original Carrera wheels were damaged in shipment from the original owner and Jarrod had them repaired and refinished prior to me taking delivery. The work done was outstanding. If you are in the market for an incredible car at a fair price, you need to look no further than Motorcars Washington.

I was looking for a 2009 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged vehicle. I have purchased many vehicles in the past but never one on-line. Since I am in a different state, I did not see the vehicle in person or drive it. Motorcars Washington did a fantastic job at taking so many pictures that I felt very comfortable buying the vehicle un-seen. Great communication and a very easy and pleasant experience. And if that wasn't enough they even delivered the vehicle to my house at no charge. Thank you!

From locating My S2000 at Motorcars Washington in Chantilly to the final purchase,the owner made it a pleasureable experience. This was my first experience buying a car and unfamiliar with the details of the transaction, Jarrod made it easy. As the owner he took a personal interest in making my first car buying experience a easy one. At one point Jarrod was willing to drive the car up to my home so that myself and my parents could test drive. I would advise anyone looking for a specialtiy automobile, with exceptional service not to pass up a chance to work with Motorcars Washington

Typically the car buying experience ranks up there with root canals and IRS audits. Working with Jarrod at Motorcars Washington is the extreme opposite of that experience and I was floored. The car we purchased was actually even better than the pictures and Jarrod's description. Jarrod was always available 24/7 to answer even the most mundane question we had. He never once acted pushy or was like "this price is only good today" which is the typical car salesperson tactic. He let us take our time while we decided which is the sales approach I prefer and respect more so than the pushy attitude I have experienced at most of the dealers in the DC metro area. From Start to Finish the transaction was the most pleasant car buying experience ever, When It's time again for a new X5 or Range rover and there's no question who we are going to call, Jarrod and the guys at Motorcars Washington.
