Drove by after hours, saw the 2018 CX-5 Grand Touring I was looking for. Went in the next afternoon and got the price I needed, we made the deal and I drove off the next day in my new ride. No haggling, no B.S., it's the way all dealers should treat consumers! Highly recommend this dealer and Mazda.

Great people; terrible inventory management. Their sites are useless for determining where a car is, even if you call/chat ahead. 2 cars I ended up getting ping ponged to 3 of their locations because only certain people know where certain cars are. Again, customer service is on point but they desperately need better used inventory management which kills the experience when you need to bounce between multiple store to find a car

My experience at Northtowne Mazda was not good. My main compliant has to do with customer service. I was informed I could only buy my wiper blades from a Mazda dealership. When I was greeted at the northtowne Mazda it was confirmed by a salesman that it was true I could only buy wiper blades from the dealership, as he pointed in the direction of the parts department while giving me walking directions. After receiving the wiper blade I asked the parts man if he knew how to install the wiper blade, he stated he did not know how to install the wiper blade. I believe I was the only customer in the dealership as it was early and 1 degree outside. I went to walk towards one salesman and I assume he suddenly got busy because he started to walk towards the outside doors, I asked another salesman if he was busy as he as eating at his desk and he stated no. I asked him if he knew how to install the Mazda wiper blade and he stated no and pointed to parts and services would help me, I told him parts didn't know how and I wasn’t going to walk into service department because they look busy through the glass with a sign on the door that says “employees only” . I went outside and attempted to figure it out on my own, while the salesman that went outside earlier was now standing next to the salesman eating at his desk and watching me through their glass window a few feet away. I gave up in frustration and left. When I got home a googled how to install the wiper blade. It ended up being extremely easy. I don’t know if I should feel silly, but I don’t, I feel extremely angry at Mazda, not only do I get forced to buy a 38 dollar single wiper blade that has to be bought only from a Mazda dealership, knowing that you would think every Mazda employee would know how to do it, because I can ONLY BUY IT FROM MAZDA!! if you don’t how, how about you try this example for customer service, when I ask you do you know how to install a wiper blade, don’t just pass the buck by pointing your finger on how to get rid of me, try this if you don’t know “I don’t know how to install the wiper blade, but let’s figure it out together as I have this computer in front of me and if we can’t figure out together, I’ll find somebody that can.” So if your thinking about going to Mazda Northtowne, ask yourself this, if salesmen knows that you can only buy their wiper blades from Mazda but don’t know how to install it, how many other things will they not know about the vehicles they are trying to sell you? You should be treated the same if your coming into buy a 30k car or a 38 dollar wiper blade. My recommendation is go out of your way to find another Mazda dealership

I traded in my 2015 CX-5 for the 2016.5 CX-5 because I happened to see a new one as I was waiting for an oil change. Paul saw that my husband and I were there (my husband was looking at a Miata he plans to buy in the spring. Paul and I were talking about the new vehicle and I happened to just decide to do a trade in for the new model with the same bells and whistles as my 2015. When I noticed that there were a couple things missing from my new car that were on my old car, I notified Paul and he is working to make sure the new car has those items installed. Paul has always made our family feel welcome at Mazda and we will always buy from him.

I have bought three new cars at this Dealership in a period of 4 years. I love the service and every one is very friendly. They never pressure you too buying the car. If you test drive one that you dont like then they will except your reponse and wont commit to a sale untill you find the car that you like. Gene Barnett is very nice and will show you all the features of your car before you drive it off the lot. If any one needs a a car I always tell them too go to North Town Mazda. Tom Hinken will always put a smile on your face before you drive away in your new, or used car.

Gene Barnett sold me my Mazda 6 over a year and a half ago. I have found it to be a great car. He gave me what I felt was a good deal and made the process very smooth and painless.When I got hail damage on my car a couple weeks ago, My Allstate insurance (Marshall) office sent out an adjuster. After he finished his estimate and recommended that I go to the dealership for the body work, I went back to Northtowne and Gene Barnett. I was crestfallen. Even after getting the body work done, I would be driving a car that had been taken apart and put back together again.Gene helped me into the exact same model car (same color) a year newer but an automatic instead of a standard. And my payments only increased a skoosh. He and Tim McGeeney (the manager...?) helped me finish the paperwork and the same day I drove home in a brand new car.Thanks and I will always recommend both Mazda, Northtowne Mazda, and Gene.Great experience!Best Regards,Jim Huskey

This is the 2nd car we've leased from Gene in 6 months. We've primarily worked with Gene who is very knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. He gave us the facts and wanted us to get the best car that was right for us and our budget. He was available via phone and email and we appreciated his patience. Rude helped us on the day of our most recent purchase. He was very personable and took great care of us. Tim was amazing as always. On both purchases, they've stayed late to make sure we're taken care of. We live 10 minutes from another Mazda dealership and drive about an hour to Northtowne because they have the best customer service.

I live in Johnson County so I would never go north of the river to shop for a car. I became frustrated with the largest Mazda dealer in south Kansas City whom I had visited and been emailing for about 10 days and was not able to make a deal. Northtowne Mazda had the CX-9 Signature I was looking for so I emailed them. Tom Hinken responded immediately and sent me a credit app which I returned immediately. Tom then emailed a lease proposal right back. No BS, no bait and switch and no up selling, only just what I had asked for with one suggestion on his part that reduced my payment $25/mo. I emailed him back that he had a deal if there were no surprises. I told Tom I had driven my car to work so I would need to find a ride to Northtowne to drive my new car home. He said I didn't need to find a ride he would send a salesman, Jason Chandler, 20 miles to pick me up. Jason came right over and got me in another CX-9 and had me drive it back so he could teach me about all the new and amazing technology the car had to offer. I got to the dealership and signed papers with Tim McGreeney, their finance specialist. The whole experience could not have been easier or gone smoother. I'm 63 years old and have purchased probably 20 cars in my life time. It doesn't get any better than this. I drove home in my new CX-9 that afternoon with a full tank of gas and a certificate for a free first oil change. I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and contacted Northtowne Mazda. Don't buy a Mazda with out contacting Northtowne. I want to assure you that I'm not related to, have never met and don't know anybody affiliated with this dealership. I was looking to trade in my car and buy a new Mazda SUV and called Northtowne owner that I have known for 36 years and bought many cars from him. He had Tom Hinken call me and the fun started. He is the sales manager for Mazda and was great to work with. Tom knows a lot about Mazda and was easy work with answering my questions, showing the difference between leasing and buying and I was treated no different because I am a woman. Once I made up my mind what I wanted Tom had me do a test drive with "Mr. let me explain the features of the car" Mike Schwally. He also treated me equal to a man and was very informative about the car and fun to ride with. We practically had all the world's problems solved when got back to the lot. Then Tim McGeeney completed the paper work with me and explained what I needed to complete before going to DOR to process the title process He also made sure I had my paperwork done so I could complete everything I needed to do to have the title processed this week.I am one happy car owner and I know I will take Mike up on his offer to come over anytime as I'm learning about my new Mazda and how everything works. This was the easiest, least stressful buying experience I have ever had. Tom Hinken had already pulled several vehicles that I had told him I was interested in looking at, so when I arrived at the dealership everything was ready for me to look at and drive. Steve Pheffer was so patient with me while I drove all four vehicles. He answered all of my questions and was knowledgeable about all four, even though only two of them were Mazdas. Tom was patient with me during my decision making phase and did not pressure me at all when I told him I would like to sleep on it. Tim made the paperwork process ease breezy while still explaining each piece of paperwork in a way that I understood what I was signing. My CX5 was spotless and had a full tank of gas. Steve helped me set up my Bluetooth and showed me how to work all of the gadgets. I will absolutely be recommending Northtowne Mazda to all of my friends and family, no matter what make/model of vehicle they are looking for. Gail MillerI had bought an older Mazda 3 from a Toyota dealership in Lincoln, NE shortly before moving to KC two years ago. I am a social worker in the KC area, and often put up to 700-800 miles on my car per month. When the transmission on my older Mazda 3 started to have issues, I went to Northtowne for the repairs, as they had serviced my car for me the past 2 years in a manner that I was very satisfied with. I had come to trust Northtowne to be fair and honest with me about any repairs needed. On July 12, I took my 2008 Mazda to see whether it needed a new transmission or if it was just a computer speed sensor that needed replaced. It ended up that it was the tranny. No problem. I have an extended warranty through Toyota that covers the cost for a new transmission. When I was told that Toyota would not pay for the repair due to the fact that it was a limited warranty that had expired in January, I felt like someone had told me that a family member had died. I had loved driving my Mazda 3! And I could not afford a new transmission for "her". It was all I could do to hold back the tears. How could I service my clients in 3 different counties each week, without a car I could depend upon? I seriously thought I was going to have to quit my job, for one that would not require me to travel. That also, brought lots of tears and fears that I tried to hide. The repair tech asked me if I wanted to speak to Gene to see what he could do for me. What did I have to lose? Gene came out to talk to me, and though he saw those tears and fears, he made me feel valued not only as a customer, but also has a human being. I really appreciated him treating me with such kindness and courtesy! Gene made it easy and possible for me to be able to lease a 2016 Mazda 3. The first payment was made by Northtowne, I got a discount on the lease because I was a former Mazda owner, and because I was leasing I didn't have to come up with the money for the taxes and registration fees. They paid off the loan on my older car, and handed me the keys that day to my new ride! What I am delighted about is that my monthly payments for a 2016 Mazda 3 with only 700 miles on it, is not that much more than what I was paying Toyota Financial in Nebraska for a 2008 Mazda 3 with 119,000 miles on it! I feel as if an angel was by my side that day, helping me to get a newer car I could depend upon! Because I was concerned about leasing a car and going over the mileage allowed in the 3 year term of the lease, Gene worked to get me the miles I needed to be able to put on the car each month, at a payment I could afford. Above all, I did not feel pressured by Gene to make any decisions. He respectfully helped me to consider my options. My father was a car salesmans before he passed away. Sitting with Gene was like sitting with my Dad. I truly felt as if I could trust him to guide me in an honest manner to make the best choices for ME. I can't compliment Gene Barnett any higher than that! To compare him to my dad....In fact, I have been so pleased about the decision I made to lease from Northtowne, and how courteous and respectful that Gene Barnett was to work with, that my head supervisor asked me this week "Where did you go to lease your car? And who is the man whom you keep talking about who was so helpful to you? My husband and I want to go talk to him."NORTHTOWNE MAZDA! ASK FOR GENE BARNETT! I went to Northtowne Mazda to see what was available in the used car lot. I told Steve Pheffer, the dealer I was working with, exactly what I was looking for. I told him the types of payments I was comfortable with, desired gas mileage of the car, etc. In minutes, Steve was back with a set of keys to a 2014 Mazda 2. We took it for a test drive, talked about some options and I was left without questions! I bought the car and I am very happy with my purchase. I've been to the dealership multiple times to have my oil changed. It finally came time to find a new car and I had so much help from Gene, Tom, and Tim. Gene took so much time to show me my options and then show me all the features my new Mazda 3 had to offer. Tom went through the process of purchases vs. leasing and helped me decide what was best for me. Tim went through the paperwork and explained everything to me in detail. I left with zero questions because all three men gave me more than enough information on every part of the process. I couldn't imagine going to another dealership.

I recently bought a used Hyundai Elantra from Northtowne Mazda. Mike Schwally was very friendly and helpful. I did not feel pressured at all, and that was unusual for a lot of dealerships. This was, by far, the easiest and most enjoyable car buying experience I have ever encountered. I did my own research in advance of my visit/test drive. Mike Schwally was my sales advocate. I use the term sales advocate as I did not feel like he was a stereotypical car salesman. Rather, I felt I had an advocate in my corner to assist with getting me into the car I desired. Mike was knowledgeable of the product and served as my representative to get me the car I wanted at the best price with the most advantageous financing option. Having done my research in advance, I knew what I was prepared to offer for the vehicle, below the MSRP. The initial offer made by Mike and the financing team was within $100 of my intended offer at a financing option better than I had anticipated. Overall, I found the entire experience to be easy, informative, and actually enjoyable (a phrase I never thought I would say in conjunction with a car purchase). As a first time Mazda buyer, I was left with a great impression of the car company and Northtowne Mazda as a representative of the product. If I could make two specific recommendations, I would say to do your homework and go to Northtowne Mazda.

We went through all the options from new to used. I ended up buying a brand new Mazda 3 which is going to save me gas money from the truck that I traded in. I'm almost done with college and decided that it was time to buy my own car. I have an uncle who works with cars so he knows quite a few people in the car industry. He did most of the leg work and gave me a list of cars to look at and who to talk to about them. The Mazda 3 was one of his top choices and Northtowne Mazda was where he told us to go.I dealt with Tom Hinkins and Steve Pheffer mostly and both were extremely helpful. I never felt pressured into purchasing the car that day and they were extremely forthcoming with information. I felt incredibly comfortable talking to them especially since I was buying my first car. After deciding to buy the Mazda, I was never put under any pressure to purchase anything extra. They made everything very easy and simple and they made me feel like family. I would recommend Northtowne Mazda to anyone looking to buy a new car because the dealers were incredibly helpful and courteous. I wasn't expected to do anything and I was never put under any pressure. I'm extremely happy with the decision I made and I think everyone should at least look at a Mazda when making their decision.

I visited Northtowne Mazda over Memorial Day weekend and purchased my first Mazda. I had previously visited Overland Park Mazda and was very turned off by how cocky they were - gave the impression they did not need my business. This was not the case with Northtowne Mazda. Gene Barnett was very friendly and helpful. He made his very best effort to get me the best deal on my vehicle. Tim McGeeney made the paperwork process simple and quick. I have now purchased 2 cars over the years from Gene at Northtowne Mazda and have been very pleased with both the cars and service I received from them. My wife needed an oil change. The bill was over $130 after they took advantage of her by telling her she needed an engine air filter as well as a cabin air filter, both at ridiculous prices plus labor charges. I had to plug the wiring harness in myself after she returned home because she said the fan would not come on. Labor should take less than 5 minutes. Neither filter needed changed. Also a $60 oil change for a 4 cylinder car? Come on!? Just another business that takes advance of unknowing customers.

I am a 23 year old female, who had so much anxiety about going alone to purchase a new car by herself. With rocky credit, and a few resources, I walked into Northtowne Mazda and was completely blown away by the level of service I'd received. Every. Single. Person, was kind, concerned, helpful, and very patient. It was almost like a freak show! Ha! I mean, seriously, when do you ever go into a dealership and not feel hounded or taken advantage of? It was an unbelievable experience and I am totally thankful to God for leading me to such a great place. From the second we got there, my husband and I were treated wonderfully. We made an impromptu stop on my birthday to check out the 2016 CX-5 and Steve was there to answer all our questions. I walked in at 8:30 and was done by 10:30. They did a good deal on my trade and the car had more than expected. The end price was pretty much what I was looking for. This was the fastest dealership I have ever used, no hard sells, quick info and Mike worked to get me at my price point. The best and fastest closing ever. I have bought a lot of cars in the last 40 years, and they did not leave me cooling my heels in a waiting room for 30 minutes-hour before the business manager had time for me. Also did not try to sell me a lot of warranties and add-ons like others have. I appreciate that. I was asked if I would like one and that was it. Very efficient.

My husband and I were dreading the thought of having to start the car buying process because it has been such a long time since we had bought a car and didn't know what to expect. From the moment we met with Jason Chandler, it has been an experience that has gone beyond our expectations. The morning we went in to meet with him, he had three cars pulled for us to look at in a warm garage, which was a big deal because it was very cold outside. We really liked the car we took on a test drive. Jason's service was very professional and he gave us referrals to other services we were needing as well. We used the next week to make a decision on the car. He didn't pressure us during this time, and came down on the price to a point that was doable for us. He also worked with us during this time to answer any questions we had. We came back a week from when we first stopped by and bought our CX-9. Mike Schwally was great in answering all my wacky questions without every pressuring me into making a decision. This dealership impressed me on my first visit. It was clean, organized, and a nice environment to make a large purchase like this. I pretty much knew what I wanted but they weren't pushy and adapted my buying style. Mike Schwally was nice and followed up on his word and obligations. Tom the finance manager was great as well and was very courteous with all my questions and requests. This time, my fiance was making a purchase and Mike made sure to give her the proper attention as she was the one buying even though she wanted me to negotiate the deal. Overall great experience. I have been keeping an eye on the market for a Mazda 3 and finally settled on one with this dealership. I had a great offer from an out of town dealer. I went to Northtowne Mazda as a last resort. I was upside down more than $9k on my trade-in that was on its last leg. I've also had a bankruptcy and divorce within the last three years so my credit is less than desirable. I walked in confident that I would be driving away in my clunker because the "big name dealerships" don't work with people like me... or so I thought. The salesman met me inside the building with a handshake and a smile. I explained my situation and he went to work to see what my options were. I was surprised when he said it was looking good and asked if I wanted to test drive a Mazda 3. Of course, I fell in love with it but I wasn't going to let him know that - I still wasn't getting my hopes up! You can imagine my excitement when he came back with an offer that I couldn't refuse. Honestly, I felt a little disappointed in myself later for not even trying to negotiate a better deal. That's how good it was - good enough that I didn't think twice about saying "I'll take it!". I believe my actual response was "Are you kidding me?!?"I can't say enough nice things about Steve. I walked in the door with my tail between my legs. He wasn't put off by my situation and didn't try to push me into something I couldn't afford. I've always said I'd never own another Mazda but if/when I decide to buy another car this is the first place I'll go.

Thought I would never buy a new car again. I drive a car until it's done, my old ride is 12 years old 290k miles. Also like to see somebody else take the hit driving off the dealers lot and buy from them after a year or two. These guy gave me such a good price it was a no brainer to go the new route. Was about $2-3k more than a 2-3 year old car with 30-50k miles. Now I can get those extra years & miles!!The experience was great, no back/forth with "the wizard behind the curtain." Came in from the test drive and asked for numbers. Salesman was going to start doing the monthly payment deal, told him no, we would pay in full if the numbers are right. Came back in 5 minutes with a price that blew us away!! Then the talk with the business manager, not pushy about the extended warranty or accessories. Liked that, was all psyched up for some high pressure sales on extras I don't want. Lastly, my wife saw a spot on the headliner. Asked them to clean it and the headliner got damaged. Not batting an eyelash they offered a new headliner, but I didn't want that. Got some accessories and discount on my first set of tires. Think we both ended up happy-ish, they did what I asked so felt good. Would suggest these guys to shop at and buy from!!

I am buying my 4th Mazda (5th car) from Jason Chandler at Northtown Mazda. Our first visit 4 years ago started with a simple conversation with Jason about our rate. He got us a lower payment then we already had and a newer vehicle. Ever since then we have consistently gone back and traded in every year. My most recent experience is by far the best. I was in a car accident and my car was totaled. I called Jason to let him know I was going to need a new vehicle. We took my app over the phone in fifteen minutes or less. I let him know I was coming by that evening after work to test drive the CX-5. When I got there, Jason was with another client, so Tom took over and had the vehicle I was interested in pulled up right away for me to drive. They put the car on hold. The next day my application was submitted and approved. Jason called me to go over terms and set up the day to sign. They are also helping me by going to Enterprise with me to return my rental and bring me back to my new car. On top of my new financing, they also helped me with my totaled vehicle by getting me a copy of my GAP insurance and sending over some required documentation to the GAP company to assist with finishing out my totaled car. There is nothing this dealership will not do for you. They are the most amazing group of people to work with from Tom (manager), Jason (sales), Tim (Finance), and the service team as well!

My first car lease was in the fall of 2012 when I leased a 2012 Toyota Rav4. On October 16th I had just mailed in my final lease payment and was weighing my options. I walked into the dealership about a month ago to look at new cars, Jason was the first person to greet me. He took the time to show me his entire inventory from Mazda to other models. He also took me to another dealership that was not part of Northtowne. He allowed me to test drive each of the cars I was interested in, and gave me a good ideal on pricing and model information. He also took the time to explain all the features of the car, and the difference between the other models. Unlike my other experiences with Van, and a couple other dealerships. He gave me the best deal right out the gate, no haggling or fighting over the pricing. He also didn't hound me via cell, or email about if I was ready to buy, was I interested in this or that and that along was what kept me coming back. After a month of shopping and looking at different cars, I decided the Mazda 3 was the model I wanted. With Help of Tom Hinken, they found me the color I wanted, and even handled my last min trade in on my used car. If there is anyone I would recommend dealing with, and to give you the customer service you deserve, Jason is the man. Thanks Jason, I will enjoy my new Mazda 3.

I've never felt so offended in my life. I'm 21 years old and was incredibly serious about purchasing a car. I went in there with a plan in mind, what car I wanted, what payments I wanted, all of the good stuff. I was low-balling my payments because that's part of car buying (at least I thought) and I was certainly not going to just say what my top range of price was. The first words out of his mouth were 'we can't do that' and then 'you're looking at the wrong car'. He didn't offer me other cars to look at, didn't ask me options for downgrades or anything like that. We were having to fight tooth and nail to get any information out of him. He wouldn't run real numbers for us. Wouldn't check my credit or anything. We walked around the lot looking at other cars because I WANTED to purchase a Mazda. But he was not giving me any numbers under sticker price despite having at least two available discounts. I looked at some other package options and was finally able to get him to bring out a second car, but at that point I was so offended that I decided to take my business elsewhere. I ended up rolling on down the road and purchasing a nice Nissan at $5k more than the car I was looking here at Mazda because the salesperson WORKED WITH ME. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone (at least no one my age) because I'm not a fan of not being taken seriously. I didn't get this treatment at any of the other dealerships I went to.

Gene was a wonderful person to work with! I bought my 2002 Mazda Protege 5 here and had the Mazda 3 in mind for my new car. Gene helped me sort through the options and got it narrowed down to 2 cars. Gene got the trade in information and payment for each, all done with no haggling or going back and forth. This is the 2nd new Mazda CX-5 we have purchased in as many years, from Northtowne Mazda. My husband and I are both driving the CX-5 now. Our experience with our Salesperson, Jason Chandler, was absolutely the best. In 2014 we knew we were going to buy a CX-5, but hadn't landed on a dealership. Jason made our decision easy. He was helpful, courteous and extremely knowledgeable. When it was time to buy our 2016 we called Jason and he found the car we wanted. When we arrived at the dealership the paperwork took less than 20 minutes (Tim was great with it), and then Jason spent time with us going through the new features on the car. He is the best!!! We highly recommend him. The service department is also great to work with.

Gene was terrific !! After viisiting 3 other dealerzhips in a matter of 3 days and not one of them were willing to deal on their price enough to make buying a vehicle worth the time. He did not attempt to sell us on just whatever he had on the lot that he wanted to move. As the latter was exactly what we encountered at the Overland Park Mazda dealership, it was a welcome style of business for us to feel we were valued customers at Northtowne. Because we have not yet purchased the vehicle I can't offer specifics about pricing, but I can say that the prices quoted for the SUV seems fair and honest. Again, NOT the experience we had at Overland Park where they over-priced an SUV so sale value would appear to be a "deal", when it actually was an inflated price. Northtowne Mazda is where we will buy our Mazda.

Working through email and phone conversations, we got the best price (of three Mazda dealerships in town) with Jason Chandler. Jason was forthright, friendly, and helpful. Vida Morgan was our first contact with Northtowne Mazda, and is the person who referred us to Jason. Vida called immediately after we submitted an online request for price quotes. She was positive and knowledgeable, and gave a terrific first impression of this organization. Northtowne Mazda is not the closet Mazda dealership to our home. In the interest of convenience, we could have forwarded their offer to the other two dealerships we were in contact with to see if they would match the price. We chose to drive a little further, however, and give our business to the people we believe conducted themselves with the highest integrity.

I waited a few months to do my review of Northtown Mazda after the purchase of my vehicle since I really wanted to see how they were as a dealership. First of all I would like to say that my sales guy, Ryan Lopez, is the BEST sales guy I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He was very informative, patient with my 100s of questions and call backs about the car, and most importantly not pushy about making a sale. He really cared about me making a good decision about my purchase even if that meant going to another dealership to get a better deal which turned out to be a gimmick. I honestly cannot say enough good things about him. He is still always happy to take annoying calls from me. After the purchase of my car while it was getting all of the stickers, plastic, etc taken out/off of it the back drivers side door was damaged. They were all very embarrassed and apologetic that it happened. They scheduled me in to get it fixed right away and got me a loaner car as well. The repair went smoothly and I had a great experience with their body shop. It was even a busy time since it was right after a big snow and they had a lot of cars in. After about two months I noticed a scuff above where the work had been done. It was in an odd location and I figured it was from it being in the body shop since I dont take this car a lot of places. Assuming I was S.O.L I called Ryan and told him about it and he was very helpful and got me in the following week to have the scuff buffed out! I was very pleased!!!! Today I had my first oil change and that went perfectly as well. My appointment was at 11:00am and they got me right in on time. No kidding, I was out the door at 11:18! They were so fast I almost didn't finish my cup of coffee. Very impressive!!!! My other experiences with the service department have been wonderful as well. Since the purchase of my car in December I have had two chips on my windshield. I purchased the windshield and key coverage offered by the dealership and they fixed them both for free. This saved me $120.00 and that 5 year coverage has almost paid for itself within the first 6 months of ownership. Both times they were able to get me a loaner and were very flexible with my work schedule.I feel like I now have a full view of Northtown Mazda since I have now worked with each department of the dealership and I couldn't be happier with them! They have a lifelong customer! Thank you Northtown Mazda for being so awesome and restoring my faith in working with dealerships. After dealing with Gladstone Dodge for the past 8+ years I had a very negative view of dealerships! I LOVE MY MAZDA 6!!!!

But, I was absolutely impressed by how Northtowne Mazda took care of me. Gene Barnett - that's my guy. He was such an expert to work with during this whole process and so down-to-earth and easy-going. I drove out with a brand new 2016 Mazda CX-5 when I was planning on getting a 2015 but I couldn't believe the price they were able to give me for that car!!! The price they gave me for my trade-in was realistic and not some petty cash offer! Rebates were great. No hidden costs. And the financing was great!!! There was never any push or shove. They were realistic with me, gave me the numbers line-by-line, and let me think it over. I dealt with them via text, email, in-person and phone. All of those times, they were prompt to reply and easy to talk to. Tim, the finance manager, explained things thoroughly and walked me carefully through all the paperwork. This is so helpful when you're about to spend such a large amount of money. I will never forget how wonderful they made this what-I-imagined-to-be extremely stressful experience. And what was even better is that everyone there was relaxed and patient and extremely personable (Jason) - even to me, as I kept on coming back to test drive the cars 3 times!!! Hands-down I fell into a great relationship when I decided to visit Northtowne Mazda. Thank you, thank you, thank you...

My wife and I came into Northtowne Mazda not knowing what kind of car we wanted to buy. Warren showed us many different options and was very patient as we decided. Ultimately we decided to purchase a used Hyundai and are happy with our purchase. We never felt pressured to buy at any time during the entire process, nor did we feel pressured to purchase a more expensive vehicle outside of our budget. The staff was very friendly throughout our entire transaction. Tim was quick, knowledgeable and explained our financing very clearly. I've purchased 5 cars in my lifetime and visited many other dealerships without buying. This was overall my best buying experience. I just purchased (today) a new 2015 Mazda CX-5 AWD Grand Touring from Northtowne Mazda. We met Jason Chandler at the KC Auto Show over the weekend and was impressed with him there so I had high expectations for him. Jason did not disappoint me during any part of the car looking and purchasing process. Jason has to be the hardest working car salesperson any where! He was patient (showed us multiple vehicles), extremely informative and knowledgeable, not pushy at all - we actually had FUN working with him. He answered every question and even helped me with issues regarding my trade-in. I vote Jason for salesperson of the year if Mazda has such a thing. Ryan Lopez is a new generation sales specialist. My wife and I knew we wanted a CX-5. We dealt with Ryan through electronic media instead of sitting in the dealership going back and forth like all the other dealerships we visited. With those other dealerships my wife and I ended up with headaches after all that back and forth non-sense . Gave Ryan all the information. He did ALL the leg work. Upon our agreement we were all set. Even with a last minute addition of a factory remote start add-on, the paper work AND vehicle were ready when we arrived for the very FIRST time to Northtowne Mazda ever. I recently bought a new Mazda6 from Northtowne. I came to Northtowne because they were running much better deals than the other Mazda dealerships in the KC metro (as became obvious once I read all the individual dealerships' fine print on their ads). Northtowne, from what I saw on mazda.com, also has what is likely the largest selection of Mazdas in the area. I had a terrific experience once I came in. The salesman I worked with, Paul, was straightforward and low-pressure. And when I came back a few days after my initial visit to buy the car, doing all of the paperwork kept me past the time the dealership closed. I didn't even realize it until I saw them locking up after me. Paul made sure that even though I was rolling off the lot after his cleaning crew had left, I could come back a few weeks later to get the car detailed for free as they would normally do with cars they sell. Overall, buying a car here was painless and stress-free; I'd recommend it to anyone.

I worked with Ryan Lopez at Northtowne, who contacted me via email after I sent an inquiry through cars.com. I've in Northwest Arkansas, about four hours away, and he patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions over email and then on the phone. He was tremendous. Most importantly, he alerted me to a deal on a new Mazda6 that was vastly better than a lightly used model that interested me. I ended up driving to KC the next day and driving home with a really great car at a price that no one else in the region could match. I know because I called three other Mazda dealers. Called to see if we could get our oil changed and the lady who answered the phone sent me to the service desk. I got the message machine there and left a message. Nobody called back so we drove the 20 minutes to the shop to just get it done only to find out the were closing BC they close early on Saturdays. The person who answered the phone could have let us know they close early but didn't and I don't know why nobody was there to answer the service phone. We have to get our oil changed there to keep the manufacture warranty but I'm extremely disappointed in how this was handles. Also they were closing in five minutes and it doesn't take more than ten, good customer service would have just done it anyway.

I had already done all the research I needed to, through countless professional reviews and customer reviews, the 2015 Mazda 3 Sport had made the final cut. When I pulled up at the dealership, I already knew what I wanted and had reviewed the dealerships inventory through their website to know that the car I planned on buying was already there. When I pulled up, Steve met me just as I was getting out of my car. He was unsure of the inventory and made the comment that it changes constantly; I'm not doubting this, but I felt like I had more knowledge about what they had on their lot than what their employee did. Steve then allowed me to take the vehicle on a test drive. Steve was extremely knowledgeable about the product and had purchased a few Mazda's for himself through the years, also telling me the experiences that his daughter had with the vehicle brand. He put my fears at rest with a few of the upgrades and changes that Mazda had made to their 2015 model that I was a little iffy on. Steve was a great salesman, but I think paying more attention in getting to know the customer more instead of telling stories about himself would help him build better rapport with clientele... especially with the large age gap that there was between the two of us. Speaking of age gaps, I got the sense that because I was a younger guy with piercings and a beat up ten year old vehicle that they were a little unsure about the business I was going to be offering them. While Steve remained polite, courteous and friendly with me through the entire experience, it was not until I had mentioned my large down payment and credit score when the entire staff became much more friendly with me. This was also when I began to mention my long history with the dealership and a family members even longer history as well. They gave me an excellent price towards my trade-in, and I felt that the gentleman who went over the contractual work with me really went above and beyond in working with me. While I think if I had not already known that I was going to be purchasing a car from them that I would have felt a little rushed and pushed into the sale, this was a minor annoyance. I felt I had been stereotyped from the moment I walked in the front door from one degree and then to another as I watched Steve work to sell me the vehicle (which he didn't need to do - as I said, my mind was already made up). Overall, it was a good experience. Steve is an older guy and has been in the business for a long time - be wary if you've never been car shopping before and if you are not strong at speaking up for yourself, he'll bull you over from his sheer experience. He's a strong aspect for the company, not so much for the buyer. The rest of the staff was great and were chatty, showing interest in me as the consumer - again, I feel as if this is because of my name dropping and knowing that they were going to be able to give me a great finance deal. Their customer service would be higher, but said family member had just purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from them and they didn't even give the family member a full tank of gas. When my family member called, the dealership stated they only give a full tank to new car buyers and left it at that. Going the extra mile, guys, can make all the difference in the world.

I had leased two Mazda 6's in the past with this dealership in the past five years, and wanted to turn my second one in about 6 months early and replace it with another Mazda 6 or a Mazda 3. I understand that when I turn in a car early there are still some payments that needed to be covered, etc., so I didn't expect my monthly lease payments to be as reasonable as they had been in the past, and I was willing to raise my monthly payment in order to lease another Mazda. I simply couldn't deal with them. The salesman gave me a price, and I told them it was too high. He left for a bit, and returned with a second price which was a little less than the first one, but it wasn't even close to what I expected it to be. After the second 'deal', the salesman said that was the best they could do, and pretty much walked away. What a disappointment! For me, the service, or lack there of, that I felt I received was unacceptable. The salesman didn't even act like he cared whether he leased me a car or not. I had worked with him in the past, too. It was very strange, and I'm not sure why he wasn't motivated to lease that day. This was the first time I ever received poor customer service there, but it has left a negative experience that I'm not likely to forget anytime soon. I drove down the street on the same day and leased a new car with a different dealership. I was very pleased with the service I received at the other dealership and the outcome. They worked with me on the monthly payment that I was looking for. Even though I had good experiences leasing my first two Mazda 6's at Northtowne, I'm not certain I will want to return.

We knew we wanted a Mazda CX-5 before we ever visited Northtowns Mazda and after Ryan Lopez let us test drive the one we wanted, we were sold on it! Ryan was not pushy or high pressure in his sales tactics, just helpful in answering our questions. We waited a couple of weeks, however, and when we decided to make an offer on the one we wanted, Ryan took our offer to his manager and came back within a short time with an acceptance of our offer! The Customer Service representative drew up our paperwork quickly and was very patient, even though it was near closing time on a Saturday night.I LOVE my CX-5!! It is so much fun to drive--the accelleration rate is awesome and it handles well in rain and snow, which is why I wanted an AWD vehicle. It has more features than I ever imagined. I especially love the back-up camera, the blind spot monitors, and the HD radio. I couldn't be happier with another vehicle!

We originally visited Northtowne Mazda with the intention of driving a new Mazda 5 so that we would have a baseline as we looked at used models. During the test drive with Ryan we mentioned liking the idea of a manual van instead of the automatic we were driving. He immediately let us know about a 2 hour old trade in that was perfectly in our price range and had all of the features we were wanting. Within an hour we had test driven the older car and immediately decided to purchase it. It was our first time dealing with a car dealership but Ryan not only walked us through the process easily but went above and beyond. There was some missing paint on the back bumper that we hadn't seen originally, but Ryan made sure it was fixed immediately. The car was missing a head rest but he made sure that a new one was ordered and delivered it to us. I was absolutely thrilled with the experience working with Ryan and would definitely go back if we are ever in the market for another vehicle.

He was so patient with our forty million questions and was very responsive and understanding. Definitely not the incessantly annoying/pushy salesman experience that we had at other car dealerships.Initially, we were dead set on buying a new 2014 Mazda3, but after seeing their great selection of certified preowned cars, we test drove some other models that if new, were beyond our price point. We are very happy with our gently used and oh-so-affordable car (Mazda CX-5, Love it!!) and will most definitely return for a second car purchase in the next year or two. I visited Northtowne Mazda on 12/16/14 to have an armrest installed in my new 2014 Mazda 2. My salesman Steve Pheffer came out when I drove up and directed me to drive into the service area. He introduced me to a man who did touch-up painting on a couple of scratches that were on the back of the car when we bought it. Nice to have two things taken care of at the same time! Steve walked me back to the waiting area, made sure I was comfortable, and then came back a half hour later with an update on how the work was going. In an hour I was heading out the door with the new armrest professionally installed. I also had cruise control added to the car a few days after I bought it in November, and I was totally satisfied with the installation and how the cruise control performs.My husband and I were very happy with our experience in finding the right car for me after coming into the dealership with a Mazda 3 in mind. When my husband saw the banner hangingfrom the ceiling advertising the car that I bought at a great closeout price, it turned out to be the car that I wanted that I didn't know I wanted until I saw it. Steve was very knowledgeable about the cars that we looked at, very patient, and very helpful without being pushy. Our experience in purchasing the car and then having cruise control and an armrest added later has been satisfactory and more. We will highly recommend Northtowne Mazda and Steve to anyone we know that is looking for a no-pressure, up-front, and customer-oriented car dealership.

I wanted them to run some tests, when I went to pick up my car the manager got short and turn into a jerk when I wanted know what they did and why, simple questions. I went out to my car only to find it unlocked, tossed and some items missing. I returned inside only to be demanded out, unanswered questions and unresolved issues! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CAR!!!They do not have cameras outside, my car was left unlocked and there is no gates, nothing protecting YOU.

We figured the welcoming smile was that of a vulture just getting ready to feast on the cash in our pockets. To our pleasant surprise, Ryan was not a vulture, but a person who actually seemed to care about us, and lookout for our best interests in shopping for that new car we were interested in buying. We were impressed by Ryan's knowledge and pressure-free approach during our purchasing experience. We negotiated what I felt was a great deal. We arrived at a mutually acceptable offer for our trade-in, and at a great price for the new vehicle. We were looked after during, and after the sales process. I should mention, also, that the finance manager was great to deal with in breezing through the paperwork, and answering all of our questions. Our real value in experience was working with salesman, Ryan Lopez. We were in a bind and needed a car within a certain price range quickly. We recently (when I say recent I mean within six months) purchased a 2006 Mazda rx-8 for $9100. Talked to a couple different mechanics there and was assured how sound this car was and it was in great condition. When we bought the car they were supposed to fix the tail light cover so it wouldn't retain moisture and it still gets all foggy. Within the first 30 days the two cycle oil house burst because it was actually a windshield fluid tube (not meant for oil). Well here we are six months later and the engine has no compression when we took it out to the Mazda dealership in lees summit the mechanic informed us that he had worked on our car previously and it had needed a new engine then. Well northtown Mazda ran test and confirmed that it needed a new engine. The new engine will cost 6k so we wanted to menigate or loss and trade it back in and buy another car only to be told they would only give us 1k we have only put 5k miles on the car. Thank you Mazda we will take our money elsewhere. I'll blow the car up before I give it back to you for 1k because I'm sure you'll find away to put a bandaid over it and resell it to some other schmuck like myself and they'll be in the same position as I am. We gave you the opportunity to make this right and so we wouldn't feel taken advantage of and you failed. I am beyond disappointed and upset. I will be writing more reviews and making my point to as many people as possible.

My mom and I went "car shopping" one afternoon. Northtowne Mazda was our third dealership. We were looking for a sporty hatchback/crossover vehicle. The selection at this dealership was incredible! We found three vehicles that matched that description and were visually what I was looking for. Ryan Lopez, our sales representative, could not have been more knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating. He actually said that we were his "favorite customers" that day. My mother and I test drove the Mazda 3 and walked away with it! We didn't feel pressured and he spent 3 1/2 hours with us. The next day, when I went to drop off the Title for my previous car, he took the time to fill up my gas tank and explain the Bluetooth Device. I could not have asked for a better experience! My mother was highly impressed with the 4/5 star safety ratings!

We visited Northtowne Mazda on a holiday weekend to view & test drive the Mazda CR-V. We had test drove a competitive vehicle the day before and actually planned to visit 4 cars makers in all to help us decide which brand we might be interested in. A light rain had started again as we began to look. Right away we were taken by the color Soul Red - a very attractive car. Paul Orvos showed us several different colors & styles of exteriors & interiors. This involved a few trips to the building to pick up keys. It was still raining. He was very friendly, patient & polite through the whole process. He was also very knowledgeable about the vehicles and the various colors & the accessories available. Never once did we feel he had anything but our best interests in mind. There was no feeling of pressure. Due to the quality of the car, the options & price, and the professionalism of Paul, we found ourselves leaving in a beautiful new car.

I had been looking to buy a new car for some time, but the thought of having to deal with a car salesman had really been putting me off, I always felt like I would rather have a root canal than have to deal with a car salesman. I had gone on a Sunday to look at the Mazda's they had on their lot since I knew they were closed, as I drove in, I spotted a 2014 Mazda 6 that was a show stopper, it was loaded and everything I was hoping for, so now I knew I was going to have to get my game face on, and come back the next day and deal with a salesperson. Monday came and I bit the bullet and drove to the dealership, I got out and started looking at the beautiful car that I had hoped would be mine, out came Gene Barnett, he was very personable and friendly (but I was still unsure) and had my game face ready, we took a test drive, it was everything I had dreamed in a car, (but still the game face was on).We came back to the dealership and we went in to talk terms, Gene sat down with me and asked what did I need from them to make this deal happen, I told him what I was willing to pay for the car and how much I wanted for my trade in, I also let him know that I was pre-approved thru my credit union, he asked me what interest rate I was approved for and I said (with game face on) very smugly , 3.1%, he looked at me and said he thought they could do better than that for me, I laughed and said he could try, so he left to go talk to the "numbers guy" Tim. After a few minutes, here comes Gene, I knew he couldn't have done any better, but he said, how does 2.9% sound to you, I was floored, but then I asked what about the price I want and my trade in, he said hey no problem, whatever works for you, you could have knocked me over with a feather, he said let's go talk to Tim, (I thought ah-ha, this is where they are going to stick it to me, game face back on). I sat down with Tim McGeeney, super nice guy, he explained everything to me and made sure I was comfortable with all the terms and conditions, it was like sitting down with one of my buddies over a beer, he was that nice, he got me the dream car I wanted at the price I wanted and the payment I could afford, it was a genuinely the best car buying experience I have ever had, so that day I drove home in the sexiest car I have ever owed from the nicest dealership I have ever been to.........it must have been my game face.

Last weekend we traveled to KC to visit our daughter, & deliver my car to her (2011 Mazda 6) so she could get an inspection. They also have plenty of cars on the lot to choose from. The sales team is not pushy. I worked with Steve Pheffer and I can not say enough good things about him. I was very pleased with Tom Hinken professionalism, and his corresponds with e-mail. Tom and I corresponded by e-mail, and I told him I was going to the auto show to look at Mazda3's. Tom sent me the price and pre qualified me for a loan by e-mail. Other Mazda dealers all wanted me to come in to their dealership just to qualify me. I really respect the no nonsense approach Tom had at Northtown Mazda. Two days after the auto show I purchased the car from Tom. The other Mazda dealer asked me what he could do to earn my business. I told him it would be pricing, that was the first thing I am interested in. When I told them the discount that North town quoted, he told me I should purchase the car from Northtown Mazda. So much for his claim he would be able to get me a best price for the car. Financing went very smooth, and explaining all the different feature's of the car went well.

Used the Mazda website to build my own 2014 Mazda 3, and even though the website failed to pull all the data over was contacted by Ryan to get the info that was missing. Because of my color selection and wanting a stick with most options available, finding one like this anywhere was next to impossible. After searching he was able to locate a vehicle matching my request in Texas but it was still in transit. Even though a deal was struck, the Texas dealership sold this vehicle as soon as it arrived and we were back in search mode again. 2 more vehicles were located that were 2-3 weeks away from delivery. This time, the Wisconsin dealership held onto it when it finally arrived and Northtowne sent a driver up there to retrieve it. No hassle transaction went smoothly after that and I was pleased with Ryan's email communication keeping me updated throughout the long wait.

I had stopped in two times previously to check out the Mazda Miata. I wasn't sure if it was what I wanted, but the staff were very helpful, inviting me to take one out for a drive. My second trip, I did so. I still had not made up my mind, but after speaking with my wife, I made a third trip to Northtown, this time with my wife and we took the car out. I knew then, that this was the car I wanted, and Northtown was where I wanted to buy it. My fourth trip, I made the jump and started negotiating a price with the sales staff. Unlike some places, this was not adversarial, but cooperative, where they did their best to give me a fair deal. That is how it felt to me, and in the end, I believe that I got the best deal possible. So far, I love the car; it is everything I had expected and the answer to a life long dream.

I was looking to trade in my 2009 mazda 3 S-GT. And while pursuing online, I found that Northetowne Mazda still had a couple of 2013 Mazdaspeeds left. Called and spoke to Jason and got all my questions answered and got invited for a test drive. I walked in on Saturday, February 15, 2014 and was greeted by Jason. I have plenty experience about dealerships and know 'common' sales people, but this is a straight edge guy. Up front, direct, and to the point. He brought me up a Velocity Red 2013 Speed 3 (Tech Pack) and I took it for a drive. It was excellent except for a random noise at the right-front. Being a car guy myself, I wasn't alarmed. As I returned, I mentioned the issue and right away he took the car, told me that they will enter it in service, and asked if I was interested in another. For me totally blindsiding Jason and 'potentially' losing a sale; he was calm and collected. That really showed me that he has dedication and passion for the customers he works for. At this time he showed me the 'sister' car in the showroom floor. Exact same as what I test drove and with tech pack. I was instantly in love! (He couldn't tell...) and asked to run the numbers by me. Since it was Sat, I could not commit 100% because of the banks being closed and did not pressure me at all for that. Jason then brought the Sales manager Tom, to talk with me. We negotiated once. ONCE, and it was a deal. These guys really let the customer go at their own pace. That next Tuesday (2/18/2014) I was delivered my new 2013 Speed 3. It was late and closing time approaching, Jason stayed late to show me the ropes of the car. This guy could be at home eating dinner with his family but instead helping me get to know my car. Incredible. After thoughts: I started with 40 miles and am now at 220. I can not say it enough about how much I LOVE my car! Who cares about MPG's when you got 1,000,000 miles worth of smiles-per-gallon! I know for 100% who I will be buying my next car from... My husband and I decided through much research that we wanted a 2012 Mazda 3 6 speed automatic. A specific car! We found all the ones we could in the KC area and Northtowne Mazda had a couple. I called and spoke to Steve. He called me back quickly after he went out to the lot. He walked around the lot to find the cars I was interested in to confirm that they were automatics (website wasn't clear) and to give me other details. I also chatted later online with Gene to confirm that one of the cars was certified pre-owned. It was great to have access to that online chat feature! I told Steve we would be in the next Monday to look.When we arrived, we were greeted and Steve was just walking in. He got us in to test drive both available cars and answered all our questions. The cars were great and he noted that their dealership goes the extra mile preparing cars with things like new wiper blades. We had a very nice experience negotiating. We got a very reasonable price for our trade-in and that process was easy. We may have been able to hardball more to get another $500 off the price but we didn't sweat it.We worked with the finance manager (not Tim, he was out that week) and this person was very nice as well. We got a great low interest rate from Mazda financing and it went even lower when we accepted the extended warranty. The car we bought was CPO so it had a great warranty already but the extended bumper to bumper only added $15 to our monthly payment. I felt the finance manager did a great job of not trying to hard sell us this product and we went in knowing the pros and cons.After the sale, we spoke briefly to the service manager about recommended service intervals and he cleared up a few things on the 150 point inspection. Overall, a great experience and glad we made the drive from Lawrence.

My wife and I originally went to Northtowne Hyundai doing crossover/SUV comparisons. When we were leaving, our salesperson, Tim Manning, asked if we had considered Mazda. We hadn't, so he suggested we try down the road at Northtowne Mazda. He even offered to go with us which we declined as we were not sure we would go. We did, in fact, go there. Gene Barnett met us at the door and worked with us, test-driving, etc. We went home and mulled over our choices then went back the next day. Gene was on vacation, but had arranged for us to work with Saies Manager, Tom Hinken. We were impressed with the no-pressure atmosphere at the dealership. Tom worked with us so we could drive out of there in a new Mazda CX-5. The whole experience was pleasurable from Tim to Gene to Tom and ending with the Finance Manager, Tim McGeeney. Gene did a nice job of stay unbiased about the various options and provided insight to various pros and cons helping us make an informed decision. I went to many dealerships before ending up at Northtowne Mazda, and out of every one I visited this was by far the best experience I had. Not only were the salespeople friendly and honest, but I never felt pressured or like I was being tricked or talked into something I didn't want or need. They explained every little piece of information put in front of me and answered every little question I could think of, which is nice since this was my first time buying a brand new car. Financing was very reasonable and I feel like I could not have done much better through anyone else, and their available incentives were helpful in keeping my monthly car payment affordable. As a side note, they even recommended a great restaurant to check out for lunch since my boyfriend and I weren't familiar with the area, and (of course) it was amazing. I love my new Mazda, and if my next car turns out to be a Mazda -- which it probably will -- I'll DEFINITELY be returning to Northtowne.

Saturday August 3rd I had set out to 'test drive' only, various models of cars that would be comparable to my 2010 Honda Civic in size and approx. price. Being a resident of Lee's Summit, I started my search at Lee's Summit Mazda. About one and a half hours later, having fallen in love with the Mazda 3, I left the dealership very disappointed in the service and 23.00 away from making a deal. I went home wanting that Mazda more than ever. Speaking with my dad after I got back home, he suggested that I call the dealership where he bought his Mazda, Northtowne Mazda. I went online to check out their website and get their phone number to give them a call. I called and Gene Barnett answered the phone. I explained to him what had happened with Lee's Summit Mazda and he said "let me see what I can come up with-I will call you back in five". Five minutes later he called and asked me a few questions then said "grab your title, insurance card and driver's license cuz the boss is in a good mood-wants to make a deal! I arrived 30 minutes later and it was all down hill from there. I can't remember another dealership standing out in my mind like they did. Positive, upbeat and knew exactly what to do in a very timely manner. Gene Barnett impressed me with his personal and professional manner. He's a really neat and likable gentleman. My car was cleaned and ready to go, deal done and papers signed in a little over an hour. I drove away in my new Mazda 3 a very satisfied customer. P.S. The full tank and free first oil change was just icing on the cake--Thanks Mazda--I will be back!

My future wife and myself came to northtowne mazda looking for a newer used car. We met with Jason and he began showing us what they had available at the time. Although we did not purchase from his dealership at that time. My fiancee and I both agreed that Jason was very friendly, courteous, actually cared about us, and did not treat us like another sale. Afterwards my fiancee and I shopped around at other dealerships in the local and out of state area. What we found were higher prices, not good costumer service, and salesmen that treated us like a number and not as people. Needless to say we came back to northtowne mazda and gave our business to Jason. We found the car we wanted, they held the car for us to purchase, since I live out of state and would not be there to purchase it till the weekend. This is on a Monday by the way. I can't say how truly gratefully we are to have people like Jason who know how to treat people like people. He made the whole process easy. I can't say enough good things about him. We will be back to purchase our future vehicles from him.

I had to go to Northtowne Mazda. Even before arriving there, I had an opportunity to chat online with Paul and he was very friendly and he answered all my questions patiently and that was the very first good impression on these guys. Lot of the other dealers do not give you the live chat option as these guys do and this very helpful trust me. So, after talking with Paul online I made a unexpected visit to the store the same day. I was received by Steve and he was also very good and friendly with me. We sat down to make a good deal on the car. At first I was not convinced about the price and I had to approach Tom to talk about the price and I think thats the best thing happened to me, he was patient with me and gave me great deal. I had to surrender to the deal and was very happy about it. I have bothered Tom the most but still he was really nice to me, even after the deal he was very helpful with the financing and stuff. This was my first car and it was really a great experience.There are many stores which offer you great deal but being able to understand the customer is very important and Northtowne excels in it.Before buying a car somewhere else please visit Northtowne, I am confident that you will be 100% satisfied. We had a long search for our new car. We decided on a Crystal Pearl White, Grand Touring, AWD, CX-5. We had no idea they were so hard to come by. After a few weeks, we finally found one. I was glad it was at Northtowne Mazda as we had previously bought two new cars there. Our old salesman, Ray, had retired and this was our first time working with Gene.He was professional, NOT pushy and was quite knowledgeable about the car. After we decided upon a price for both the new car and my trade in we talked financing. I had already secured financing but Gene was sure they could get me a better rate. Since it was already past closing time we left with the idea that we were getting a one percent better deal on financing. Since the car wouldn't be ready until late the nest afternoon, Gene had their finance department look at our application. When we arrived at the dealership we were greeted with the happy news that our interest rate had been cut in half! Needless to say, that absolutely sealed the deal. P.S. I'm sorry I forgot the finance guy's name. He was also quite professional and knew a lot about the banks they like to use and, evidently, how to get a better rate than Lending Tree :-)

Pricing was very appropriate compared to a variety of car price research websites and negotiating was not uncomfortable, we did not feel pressured. I've been driving for many years but had never bought a new vehicle. I originally went to Northtowne Mazda because I was interested in a used Mazda5 they had, but ended up buying a new one for a number of reasons - none of which was pressure from anyone there. Warren Hutsler went above and beyond, making my car-buying experience better than I even imagined was possible at a dealer, and so did everyone else I had contact with. During the several days it took me to consider my options, Warren answered every question, addressed every concern I had, worked with me to give me the best possible price, and never once put any pressure on me. He even came in on his day off to deliver the car because it was more convenient for ME, and stayed even longer to make sure I understood how to work all the controls before I left. Just a couple of hours before taking delivery, I ordered a rear bumper guard to be installed, and when I got there, it was so professionally installed that it looked like it had come that way from the factory. The dealership sent the car out to have a lumbar support installed for me, and they clearly know who does quality work of this type - I'm very impressed with the work of the installer they selected. I had contact with several employees and the manager of the dealership, and every single one went out of their way to treat me like I was the only customer in the world. I drove away in my new Mazda5 very happy with it, and with the dealership that made my experience so positive.

I'd highly recommend this dealership if you're looking for a new OR used car. I've done both. I was looking for an inexpensive Miata on craigslist and had seen the one I eventually bought. My initial thought was that it was being sold by a fly-by-night used car dealer and it took me a few days to call about it. When I did call and asked for Gene, he told me that the car was at Northtowne Mazda. I have to say, I got a little excited after hearing that. I bought a new Mazda CX-7 at the end of May from them and had a very good experience. Jason was our salesman. There was absolutely no pressure to buy(extremely important to me). They gave us a very good price for our trade, we got 0% financing for 60 months, and a rebate on our new car. Northtowne Mazda should have mentioned they were selling the Miata; I would have been there a few days earlier. In my opinion, I don't believe that Northtowne Mazda would keep a bad car on their lot. Gene Barnett was the salesman I worked with on the Miata. It was probably one of the least expensive cars on their lot, but I was treated as if I were buying a new one. The car was being sold 'as-is'. I found a minor problem with one of the power windows and the dealer agreed to fix it. I had also noticed that the battery was a bit weak and did not ask them to replace it, nor did I expect them to for the price I was paying for the car. After the power window was fixed and I came to pick it up, Gene told me that they had installed a new battery, saying that 'We couldn't do that to you', of course meaning that the dealer wasn't going to send me down the road with a weak battery. On top of all this Gene followed me to a storage facility, where I'll be keeping the Miata, on his own time and gave me a ride back to the dealership. Doing business with Gene, Jason, and Northtowne Mazda has been a pleasure and truly a unique experience. In my 45 years of experience buying cars, I haven't come to expect this kind of treatment from a large dealership. They set the bar very high for other dealers to follow.

We originally went in to get our oil changed and tires rotated. We ended up talking with Jason Chandler who was able to put us into a 2012 Mazda 3 with lower payments then we were making on our current 2011 Mazda 3. We even updgraded in trim. We actually met Jason Chandler at the K.C. Auto Show and he was very informative. When I started contacting dealerships to get pricing on the CX-5, Jason was one of the first salespeople to get back to me. He contacted me by phone and after talking with him for a couple minutes, I said, "Hey, your voice sounds really familiar, were you working at the Auto Show?" Jason was very upfront and honest with us about the pricing on the CX-5, and there were no unexpected surprises. The other dealerships only had a couple CX-5's on the lot, but Northtowne had 6. The test drive was very casual and there was never any negative pressure from Jason. He respected our privacy when we wanted to discuss our purchasing decision and our down payment. I've been to dealerships in the past where salespeople didn't know much about the vehicle they were trying to sell, but Jason knew the CX-5 inside and out. Throughout the process he made sure that he clearly answered ALL of our questions (we tend to ask a lot of questions). Northtowne gave me a very reasonable offer on my trade-in, also. All in all, great job!

This was truly the least painful car buying experience I have ever had. I called ahead and stated what type of vehicle I was interested in and they got me preapproved that same afternoon. You know those dealerships where within the first 2 minutes you know you don't want to buy a car from them and you don't trust the salesperson to have your best interests at heart? Well, this isn't that dealership. My experience at Northtowne was as good as I've ever had. Everyone was personable, friendly, and came across as wanting me to end up with the car that made the most sense for me. I never felt pushed towards a certain car but rather, that everyone wanted to help me get the information I needed so I would be able to know which model was right for me. In particular, my salesperson Jason Chandler, was outstanding in helpfulness and made the process of narrowing down my choice a pleasure rather than a chore. I did a lot of research of different vehicles and their values and I found at Northtowne they had priced the vehicles at very reasonable rates. I hate knowing that a dealership has added thousands of dollars to their sticker hoping a sucker will take it at that price, but knowing that if I want it at the price that it should go for I'll be spending several hours in negotiations. Didn't have to deal with that at Northtowne. Priced reasonably from the get-go. They won't be offended by a little negotiation but really, you won't need to do much to know you're getting a good car at a good price. Overall, my experience with Northtowne was outstanding. I talked with some other customers who were in getting regular service done to their vehicles they all said they loved their cars and they'd loved doing business with Northtowne. I'll be back! The high rating was due to the professionalism and knowledge of the product by your sales representative Jason Chandler. Althought I bought a 2012 VW he was able to sell in this lot providing the information needed along with the understanding of what I was looking for in a vehicle. There was no high pressure, he was patient while it took driving several cars before I made up my mind. I purchased a 2012 Passat diesel which I love. Northtowne was out of the car I was wanting and although I was told it would take at least 2 to 3 months to receive, it was delivered within 4 weeks. This is my 3rd VW but I can honestly say the treatment I received at Northtowne was exceptional and I would not hesitate to recommend Northtowne.

If you are looking to buy a car, go see Jason Chandler. He was by far the best saleman I have ever dealt with. He was so nice, listened to everything I said I wanted in a car. Before long, he had some vehicles for me to look at. Although I bought a Hyundai, he was able to still help me thru everything. He is definately someone you want to deal with if you are looking for a Mazda, Hyundai, Suzuki etc.

I was in a tight spot financially with my previous Mazda and I made the decision to look around to possibly trade in my old Mazda for a new one. Being a Mazda owner for 5 years now, I have been to many other Mazda dealerships in KC. But the staff at Northtowne Mazda has no other comparison. Absolutely the most knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and HONEST staff that you could ever hope for. Gene was able to help me find a car that would fit my needs and Tom took care of meeting my budget needs while purchasing the car. We were able to work out a deal to pay off my old Mazda and get me into a new Mazda with the payments that met my criteria. In the end, I went to this dealership to buy a car and I left this dealership having made new friends and buying a new car. I would recommend this Mazda dealership to anyone, regardless of where you may live. The journey is worth the service that you will be provided.I would like to thank Tom and Gene both for providing outstanding service to a customer in a tight situation. Jason Chandler is the employee who I dealt, and is the most friedly, outgoing salesperson I ever met, he listen what I needed and my butdget and he helped me until I was satisfied with the deal. I was so satisfied the way he treated me I went back a year later and bought another car. Jason was great to work with. He treated me fair and did everything possible to make me happy. I never felt pressured and I always felt comfortable during the process. This is the 5th new car I have bought and this was by far the best experience I have ever had. I highly recommend Jason. Tim (Finance Manager) was great also and I look forward to using the service department as well. I think this Mazda dealership is way ahead in customer servive from others that I have experienced.

In August of 2011, my wife and I were facing replacing the entire fuel line of one of our cars. The cost of this replacement would easily reach $1,000.00 or more. We agreed that buying a new car was our best choice. We went to various dealers, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda. Nothing grabbed our attention so we heard about Northtowne Mazda. Jason, Tom, and the guys were extremely courteous, kind, and patient. This was not something that we were planning to rush into and just buy the first vehicle that looked and drove fine. We test drove the CX-7 and loved it! The 0% financing, no down payment for 90 days, and dollar incentives were too good to pass up; however, it was the staff at Northtowne that made the difference. They treated us with respect and that is what we were not getting at the other dealerships. Even today, they still treat us as if we are customers. I can promise you the next time we are looking for a car, whether it be new or used, Northtowne Mazda will be our destination.

This was the best car purchasing experience I've ever had. Tom Hinken, Sales Manager, was extremely knowledgeable of financing options (lease vs. purchase) and how they applied to my financial situation. This was my first car lease and I'm so glad Tom explained both options well enough that I was able to determine that leasing is the best option for me. He was also very knowledgeable about Mazda products which, again, helped me determine which vehicle was best suited for my needs in a vehicle. Tom was very friendly, helpful, patient and I felt he really cared about helping me find the best vehicle and finance option for me. I trust Tom and his advice. I will never go to another dealership or salesman. I will only work with Tom in the future and I highly recommend him to friends and family members.
