We had an engine issue with our Fusion Hybrid that seemed like something MAJOR. Andy, my service advisor, was patient and kind with me in my panicked state, he walked me through the whole process and told me what to expect in a worse case scenario, but as it turned out, things weren't all that bad... Andy kept me informed and updated throughout, and we were back on the road in just a few days! I would recommend Portsmouth Ford to anyone looking for straightforward service or repairs.

I recently took my 2020 F150 Limíted into the dealership for the 15K mile service and to inspect and trouble shoot significant drive train slop and or poor transmission performance. There is very loud slamming gear changes both during up shift and down shift when cruising under light loads. I have a great concern with this condition because the initial response from the dealership was that Ford is reporting this as a characteristic of the highly efficient 10 speed transmission searching for optimal gears. This is a totally unacceptable condition for any vehicle and reason for a recall of this vehicle and transmission if it can not be addressed. I would expect Ford to address this problem on the vehicle. Please note, the service I received from Portsmouth Ford was excellent but the product performance from this $70K+ vehicle is highly suspect at this point.

all was excellent except that when I got the car back from a service, 2 new tires and alignment the check tire pressure light came on while I was on my way home. When I checked the tire pressure 1 tire was 35 lbs the other 3 were 30 lbs. recommended tire pressure for the Linc. Navagator (on door sticker) is 36 lbs.Other then that all seems fine.

Loaded up my seldom used 2003 Expedition with kayaks and bikes for a last minute trip from my home on Long Island to Maine this August. The truck has 120K miles and still runs great, but is usually just resting in my driveway. As we entered New Hampshire on I-95, my brakes suddenly went to the floor. Saturday afternoon, 200 miles from home, figured my vacation was shot. Called AAA, they were willing to come out but I knew this was no roadside repair. Asked if there was a nearby shop open and they gave me the numbers for Portsmouth Chevrolet and Portsmouth Ford. Called the Chevy dealer first because it was closer. Told him my whole sob story; on my way up to Maine for vacation, really in a bind, blah blah blah. He wasn't interested. Maybe they could take a look Monday. Well, that wasn't going to work. Called Portsmouth Ford. Spoke with Greg. Told him my story. "Bring it in", he says, "we'll take a look and see what we can do." They had to fabricate two brake lines and then found another leak and repaired that, too. The mechanic and Greg both stayed past closing to get me on my way later that afternoon.What phenomenal, professional and friendly service. The icing on the cake was the very reasonable price.I wish I lived up here because there is no doubt I would purchase my next Ford at Portsmouth. I may anyway. My sincerest thanks to Greg and all the staff at Portsmouth Ford!

Not much to say, I needed a truck and had to get out of my six speed that was killing me going back and forth to the city (Boston) So, I drove in and talked to Steve. I had leased a 2014 escape two plus years ago from Portsmouth ford; my salesman was Kurt Bettcher. he was very accommodating, helpful, knowledgeable and easygoing...no hype whatsoever. I returned to Portsmouth ford to trade in my lease (8 months early and over mileage, with cosmetic damage to the left front bumper and running light). I dealt with Kurt again; I wanted to get into a newer escape lease with no money down and the mileage, time and damage issues absorbed and for what monthly lease plan it would cost me. the numbers were VERY acceptable to me, and they put me in a new 2016 lease immediately. I couldn't be happier with Kurt and Portsmouth Ford.

Went to check out the possibility to lower my truck payment. After 3 attemps to other dealers , I was unsuccessful. Roaming through scores of potential trucks , my future salesman approached me out in the lot. He was extremely well dressed and conducted himself professionally. I purchased a new F-350 Diesel Crew Cab Lariat from Portsmouth Ford last Sunday. Buying experience was excellent. Purchase price paid, trade in value offered were where I wanted to be based upon my market research. Did not purchase "Easy Care" offered by business manager as it was not a Ford Motor Vehicle product and the online reviews are not good. all went well-nice waiting area (TV, snacks, drinks) and timely service was appreciated. I am noting a couple of things: outside of car used to be hosed down after service, and that wasn't the case. I was told by service advisor that there were two issues that needed future servicing and an appointment was made for one of them. However, when I called today to have both issues taken care of on the same day (instead of just one), the second issue wasn't found in your notes. Therefore, I am at a loss as to exactly what the second issue was and apparently Portsmouth Ford is also. I believe it had something to do with rear brakes but certainly you should have a record as to what needs to be done. If the time was taken to tell me, the time should have been taken to put in your notes for future reference.

THIEVES and LIARS! Came in from out of town and my truck had a code pop up on the dash. Wanted for them to check and reset a code on ECU if nothing major was wrong. 4 hours later they claimed to find metal in fuel system but did not have any sampled. Then the next day came back and they magically had a cup full of metal debris. Drove the truck almost 4 hours back home and brought it elsewhere for input...surprise, no metal in the fuel system anywhere. Gary (head manager), Travis (Service manager), and Wayne (Service writer) are all poor character people and apparently don't have customer's best interest in mind.

I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is looking for a "hassle-free" experience. We had researched the Ford Transit Connect and knew that this van would meet our business needs. We walked through the door and was immediately greeted by Eddy Francis. He listened to our needs and before we knew it, we were walking the van lot looking for a van that would fit all of our needs. Instead of directly us the the more expensive vans, he found a 2014 navy van with only 242 miles. Due to the age on the lot it was considered "used" and we got a killer price. We knew this was the van for us and the price was amazing! We were under a time crunch and went back home to complete the online application. The next morning the van was ready for us and paperwork was complete. Again, we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dealership and when we are in need of the next vehicle we will surely be back to see Eddy!

We specifically chose Portsmouth Ford Over other Ford dealers for their one price for everyone. When we called the day before & spoke to a sale an he gave us the info we needed & told us his name but did not pressure us into 'finding' him when we arrived, he said that any salesperson could help if he wasn't there. Fortunately he was when we arrived and Dan (Klaussen-sp?) did a great job. While it was a long day we left with even more then what we thought we could get. I got the car I've been dreaming of, for just a few more dollars per month (lease) then we anticipated. Every person we encountered, even the customers waiting in the service department, were friendly. This was our third vehicle from Portsmouth Ford (my parents bought/leased 3 as well) and we would definitely recommend it to anyone and as a matter of fact I already have! As a side note, I decided I wanted some rubber floor mats just a couple days later & the gentleman in the parts department was just as friendly and since I couldn't get down until Sunday he took payment over the phone & left them w/a salesman so I could pick them up as they aren't there on Sunday's. Thanks & please keep up with the friendly atmosphere & good work.

I bought a new 2014 Mustang while I was working in Houston, Texas. An imperfection had caught my attention, and thought I was going to be laughed right out the door. I was told by the Service Department at the New Hampshire Portsmouth Ford that this problem seemed to be very unique comparatively to other Mustang owners. On the radio display, some type of crusty glaze was building up that seemed to get worst in the past month. The Service Department cheerfully addressed the problem and decided to replace the radio to remove possible future problems. Obliviously the goal was to make me a happy customer, and that was done completely to my satisfaction.

I scheduled an oil change, state inspection, and black light oil leak check appointment a few days prior to the service. Upon arrival (I was a little early), I was immediately greeted as I drove up to the service door and they began the inspection process. For the rest of the visit, I enjoyed relaxing in the great comfortable waiting area and had the opportunity to enjoy fresh coffee, pastries, water, popcorn. Although busy, the service was prompt and professional. Best of all, even though I was several miles over my Easy Care warranty, the service consultant offered me a free oil change....much appreciated!

My 2013 C-Max Hybrid was due for its 60,000 mile service, and they were able to get it done even though I was only scheduled for the regular maintenance. They always offer a free loaner car during service but I usually prefer to wait. My time is usually very tight and it is convenient for me to work in the lounge or media room while I wait.

I serviced my 2003 Ranger. The service advisor Shane Gronlund was very helpful and treated me very well. Unfortunately my axel needed to be replaced. The repair went well and I have no issues. Shane gave me an estimate on replacing spark plugs fro a 100,000 mile service for future reference. Overall I'm very satisfied.

I had an issue Dec 23, they helped me get actowctruck to my F150, then on Dec 24th my truck wouldn't start they told me if I could get it in even thought they were short staffed that day they would see what they could do. We have a 2011 Edge. I take great care of this car because we really love it. I noticed a 'woofy' kind of wobble sound several times prior, but heard it again just a few (2) days before Xmas Holiday. We needed the car for the Holiday's, so I was quite concerned. I called (7a.m.)to Portsmouth Ford and spoke to the guys in service. Drop it off; we'll take a look; and we will go from there they said. I dropped it first thing that morning. Mid-morning I got an up-date call. They checked the car top-to-bottom. Couldn't really find the point of the noise, but did find a loose tie-rod end on the front left. Suggested fixing it, and I concurred. Pick the car up later that afternoon, all ready to go. Well, guess what? We had the car for the Holidays. We carried our son and a load of gifts (some quite large) back to Boston on Saturday with not a concern regarding the usability of this vehicle. Thanks Portsmouth Ford!

I had my 2013 f-150 in for a warranty replacement of the rear window due to the rear defroster not working. The service associate stated he has done numerous rear window replacements due to the rear defroster not working. I'm sure this is the case nation wide and maybe a service bulletin or recall of these rear windows should happen. I also think that it's completely wrong that this job takes a few hours and the dealership only covers the cost of the car rental they offered me and not the tax for the rental too!!! I shouldn't have to spend a dime out of pocket to get any warranty item fixed no matter if a rental is needed for a few hours or not!!!! It's not my problem that ford can't make a quality rear window! The fact that this problem seems to be a lot more frequent should cause ford to look at this and recall the rear window immediately! Ford needs to revisit their policy on rental vehicle rental costs immediately and fix it!

I was very impressed & very comfortable with Robinson Clark when I brought my car in for servicing. He made calls to check on what my car really needed, since it was almost due for the 15,000 checkup, but is 3 years old. And he made sure that the recalls were taken care of plus everything else that I needed such as inspection, etc. and that my premium service program paid for all that was covered. I have made a commitment to myself to take the car to this dealer. My car is not a fun luxury its a necessity. It takes me to work safe and brings me home as well. I know I could have gone somewhere else and pay less but I have always been unsure about the job being done by someone who I don't really know. At least the dealer will insure if anything goes wrong I can take it back. They track what has been done in the past and fix what needs to be done. The cost is higher but what can you do?

I had a non-normal mechanical issue that he saw through and went the extra step to help me navigate the corporate path to get satisfaction with good service. Even though your service area is usually really busy, after a reasonable wait I was greeted warmly and experienced efficient, professional service. I like having the courtesy shuttle so that I can get a ride to local shops while I'm waiting for my car service to be completed. The services rendered were fully explained, the graphic red/yellow/green light systems review is helpful. Again, true courtesy from checking out with service personnel, to the cashier. I brought my vehicle in for 120,000 mi check-up which cost a small fortune. A week after my appointment, I receive a notice from Quick Lane that my brake linings were showing signs of wear and may need replacing soon. Why wasn't this addressed during my 120,000 check-up. This was supposed to be a very comprehensive service. I do not mind paying for work that needs to be done but I do not have time to keep bringing my vehicle in for repairs.

I have to be honest when I say that I have never had a vehicle that required me to bring it in to the shop to be fixed as much as this one, but I will say that my experience (other than the inconvenience of having to drop off the car and pick it up) has been nothing but exemplary. From Tony, the driver who is extremely pleasant and just an all around nice guy to the service gentlemen that I have dealt with (recently, it was Wayne and he was super nice), my experiences have been very good in that way. Tony even called me on his off time because I had left a voicemail looking to see if I could get a ride back to the dealership but he had already left for the day. When he picked up his voicemail messages, he called me to apologize that he missed my call and was off duty. That was very nice of him. I am also always offered a rental car (at no cost to me) when my car has to be in the shop for an extended period of time which has been a couple of times. I also appreciate the complimentary car wash. Again, no issues with the service department and kudos to all of them.

Back in July of this year, I had an emergency situation with a dead battery, so drove it directly to Portsmouth Ford without an appointment. I was fortunate to be greeted by Shane Gronlund; he was great (perfect) in every way...courteous, polite, professional, informative, etc. That experience was a prime reason why I decided to make Portsmouth Ford my permanent service facility for my 2010 Focus. So, my next oil change was due and I received a flyer for "The Works" maintenance plan.....made the appointment....and was again fortunate to be greeted by Shane. Once again, the experience was perfect in every way. He fully explained all the information, options, costs, etc., etc. Also, it was a particularly busy day in service and even though he was "straight out" throughout the morning, he continually came over to the waiting area to keep me updated and informed and to answer any questions should they arise. Bottom line, I am sure all the staff members are excellent, but Portsmouth Ford is indeed fortunate to have Shane as a service representative....I hope to see him on my every visit!

I took my 2011 Ford Fusion in for 55,000 mile service and to get the A/C repaired. Rob Clark was the service advisor and he was terrific. The car needed brakes and a new A/C compressor and he worked extremely hard to get me the best deal and the repairs done in a most timely matter. I did need new lug nuts which did not make me pleased but that is an issue with Ford Motor Company and not Portsmouth Ford. I always get complete satisfaction from the staff there.

Purchased a 2015 Ford 150 Supercab. I wanted a Supercrew 2.7 Ecoboost XLT with Chrome or Sport package. Those combination of options seem to be rare as I had looked in New York, Arizona and finally New Hampshire. Purchasing a car is one of my least favorite things to do. Looking and test driving them is one thing, but the actual buying and filling out paper work etc. is not at the top of my "favorite" things list. However, I found the whole ordeal from test driving the Ford Escape to the purchasing ,and all of the paperwork painless and not that bad at all. Kurt was a true professional. He made the whole process enjoyable. I felt no pressure,was not afraid to ask questions in the least bit,and felt at ease. Great Service! I went in for my scheduled 30,000 mile service and while I was there they took care of a transmission recall and replaced a faulty clutch assembly in 5 short hours so I didn't have to travel back on a different day. I made my appointment online. It is nice that you provide that tool, but it needs to be fixed to accurately reflect reality. I chose from the menu my year and model and type of service I was looking for (an oil change), then hit "Next." This all seemed natural and easy. Then on the next screen there was calendar asking me to "Select Time." I selected 5:00pm from the available options and hit Next, entered my contact info, and I was good to go. I even received a confirmation email stating, verbatim: "Your appointment for your 2014 Ford Escape is scheduled for: Tuesday 08/25/2015 at 5:00 PM". That seems pretty cut and dried to me. I made the appointment for 5:00 PM Tuesday.Lo and behold, when I arrived at 5:00 PM on Tuesday there was mass confusion. The service center apparently closes at 5:00 PM. Why would the system let me make an appointment after the place is closed? The representative suggested that it was because I didn't change the default "Will Drop Off Vehicle" to "Will Wait for Vehicle". It is true that I did not change (or even notice) that box, but I was skeptical. I went through the interface again today and even after choosing "Will Wait for Vehicle" it still lets me select 5:00 PM.The good news is that the representative ultimately made the appointment happen. He understood that it was a problem with the website and he had someone stay late to service my vehicle. That is terrific and I am thrilled that he was able to work it out for me. Of course, all this could have been avoided if the website more accurately reflected reality.In summary: the website interface needs to be changed because it causes confusion and stress, but ultimately my needs were met and I am thankful for that. I will continue to have my car serviced at Portsmouth Ford, but I will not use the website scheduling interface anymore unless you let me know it can be trusted. Thank you.

Very well-done. I wish it had been offered that for one of the major services (15,000, 30,000, etc.) a loaner could have been offered but I wasn't told this. I will make sure I request one for each major service from then on, as it makes it much easier for logistics.Otherwise, all was great. Dropped my truck off before the dealership opened, which is convenient due to the time I start my day at work. Brought it in for mileage check, oil & filter change, tire rotation and state inspection. I received a call that it was in and being worked on at the scheduled time of 7:30 and was given a recommendation that it was also time to clean and service the air conditioning. I accepted and got a call within 3 hours that the work had been completed. When I picked up my truck I also found that my truck had been washed. Nice bonus. That was a nice extra. I went in for an oil change and Shane the service writer informed me that last year at this time I serviced my air conditioning, and let me know if I wanted to do the service again, they were having a special. I had the service done, and was informed that a valve in my air conditioning unit was leaking and would need to be fixed. The part was not in stock, so I had them order it, and they let me know it came in, and I made an appointment to have it repaired. I glad the Tech found the leak.

The parking lot was blocked off for new paving, there were no signs with directions which way to go, this was both coming in and leaving. I have seen a big change since they took on Lincoln. When the staff keeps turning over it makes you wonder what is wrong. The same staff had been there a very long time before Lincoln/Ford. Next truck may go elseware. Not happy with attitude from management.

I had an appointment at 4 to have my Ford Fiesta inspected. They were pretty busy, I believe there were 6 people in the service waiting area. I bought my car at Ports. Ford, have all the service done there and am generally happy with the service. Shane, who checked me in was very polite and friendly, as he has been in the past when I was there. The woman who cashed me out that day was also very nice. The waiting room area is comfortable with the large screen TV, chairs and lots of snacks which makes the wait more pleasant. Even the mechanic (?) who pulled my car around after it was washed (nice touch by the way) was cheerful and friendly. I felt like I was there a little longer than I'd like -I had an appointment a 4 and did not leave until after 5 but would still recommend and am happy.

The staff are always helpful. The warranty repair on the headliner involved two trips. The first time I was not told it was not repaired. The second time it was done properly. The reason I didn't offer the highest rating is because the A pillar was all smudged from the tech's hands and there were screws and scraps of packing left on the seats.

Completed my 5,000 mile service plus 2 recalls in a timely manner, even though I was late for my appointment. Shane G. informed me of the 2 recalls (bolts in steering assembly and a computer update) and then determined the compartment that wouldn't open needed a new part instead of a repair, so I will have to return when it comes in; but Shane assured me it would be a simple fix that wouldn't take much time. I've dealt with Shane before, and he's always been helpful and accurate in his assessments/explanations.

trying to check in took forever because there were only 2 men that seemed like they were working checking people in/out and answering the phone and there were 3-4 people behind them appearing to be doing "stuff" on the computer or talking with mechanics not about a current car and wouldn't even bother looking up at me and say something. The poor guy that checked me in kept apologizing because he knew I had been standing there for a long time while no one else could be bothered. Even if they aren't supposed to be checking cars in they can at least acknowledge that someone's there and tell them someone would be with them as soon as possible. Then I was there 15+ minutes longer than I needed to be because there was only 1 person working while everyone else either left for the day or were chit-chatting with other people and he had forgotten that they turned in the key because he was busy with a couple of other things.

Yesterday (Monday, 7/6/15), I had to call Ford Car Care Emergency road assistance as car wouldn't start while going in for a coffee. Service was fine. The only problem I have is that after I got home, I looked at the invoice and they had the mileage wrong. For some reason, the number they put down was much higher than the actual mileage. The actual mileage was 30,054 and they put down 32,411. That's quite a difference and I don't know how they came up with the number they used. I am going to call the dealer about it.

Walked in at 7amwith no appointment and they fit me in . I was in a rental within a hour so my truck could get repaired . They called by afternoon to come pick up my truck. Only negative was it was warranty work and I paid taxes for rental. But that falls on ford for what they cover not the service department. Service department was great.

We all know shopping for a car can be a hustle. I am glad to say people at this dealership had outdid themselves. No pushy, pleasant and really nice to shop with. First dealership that did not want deposit. The whole transaction took less then 24 hours. Before I drove off in my new car my salesperson walk me thru everything and made sure I understand everything. I checked the price with other dealerships (after the fact) and it was the best price available - imagine?I recommend the dealership to anyone who wants to have a nice shopping experience at best possible price.

Portsmouth Ford purchase experience was super. The salesman was knowledgable and offered a non- nonsense price. No fooling around with checking for price. They also gave a very good trading in value for our Jeep Wangler.Total purchace time less than 2 hours from test ride to signing on the dotted line. Pickup the next day was again quick, and easy. Full tank of gas, air condition on so the car was cool on the hot day.

Purchased the vehicle there, and have always been able to count on their service department. But twice now, I've ended up with goofy things happening. The last time, they forgot to properly tighten the push pins that hold a transmission cover on, which dropped to the ground and I had to drag back to Portsmouth Ford...they replaced it, admitting that it was mechanic error (and also claimed it to be due to a poorly designed part). Then, after waiting a week for the new item to come in, returning to Portsmouth just to have their mistake fixed and traveling a xxxx of a distance just to get there, once again, a mechanic leaves an oil rag up behind the new cover. What is that...? It leaves me hesitant to visit Portsmouth Ford for our next scheduled maintenance, and also asking the question: "What's up with their service department."

Had an appointment to have a tech look at my truck. Showed up and apparently they "double booked" me. They told me that I could wait an hour or schedule another appointment. This is the first time I have had a bad experience, but I am sure it will be my LAST. They need to find a new group of employees in the service department before I would ever consider going back. For now, I will drive to Dover, NH Ford or North Hampton, NH Ford to get my work done.

I was nervous about buying a car unseen, but Aaron went through a lot of trouble to take painstaking photos of it and send them to me. I asked for close up shots of any damage, as we were looking for a car in new condition. He did just as we asked, and there were no surprises. This had not been my experience with other dealers, whose idea of pristine differs from mine. The car was priced under book value and thus a good deal. I suppose this dealership prices their cars at the price you would haggle for elsewhere, and then removes haggling all together from the process. We completed our paperwork via mail and fas, then had a shipper pick up our new car and deliver it here, and the whole process was seamless. We would do business with this dealer again, as would our family members ( who live in the area).

I purchased the car site unseen, except for a picture on the web, it was all cleaned and ready to go when I got there! My old car had some major issues and they were able to get me into a great Ford Focus, SE! Michael Shannon, was my sales guy and he was fantastic and very helpful and went over all the options and even since has answered some questions for me, I've even already sent someone to the dealership to buy a car, if you want a Ford, Best Place to go!

I was very pleased with the level of service at Portsmouth Ford Lincoln. After having a miserable experience somewhere else, it was refreshing to work with a group of people who were knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and experienced. I dealt with Kurt Bettcher and he was excellent. He answered all my questions, some before I could even ask them, and he really did a great job helping me get into the vehicle I wanted. The truck was in great shape, I took it to my mechanic before I purchased it (again, after having a bad experience elsewhere) and he was very pleased with the condition of the truck. Portsmouth Ford Lincoln sells quality vehicles, not lemons that are patched together with gorilla glue and given a good paint job. Their finance team did a great job and found me a terrific rate. I would highly recommend going to Portsmouth Ford Lincoln for anyone's next car/truck purchase. I won't go anywhere else now.

This is the 4th new vehicle I have purchased from Portsmouth Ford over the years. It is the only place I would buy a Ford. Why? Their customer focused business model takes all the hassle out of buying a car. Every vehicle has the sticker price, they discount that automatically to the invoice price, then give you any factory rebates on top of that. Do your research and you'll find their offer on your trade in is very fair. With most dealerships you will eventually get there, but with lots of negotiating and back and forth. Go to Portsmouth Ford and cut through all the BS and get a car at probably the best price you can. They are a very high volume dealer with lots of vehicles on the lot to pick from, If you are buying a Ford doo yourself a favor and give them a visit.

Bought my milan in february...god awful smell when stopped after driving. They cannot fix it. Will NEVER buy from there again. They say is in vents which is not true. Smell is from motor/trans. Only happens when drive it. Do yourself a favor and buy a foreign brand.

After 45,000 miles my ford needed a new engine. I was told by ford that as the largest ford dealership in new england they "did not need my buisness." After being told by the service manager that we could work something out, I was pawned off on a sales associate with no knowledge of my particular situation. I bought my car brand new from this dealership and had it serviced by them for the life of the car (which was not very long.) Portsmouth Ford does not stand behind their product and was the worst customer service I ever experience. Beware if you shop there, they "dont need your buisness"

I was delivered a vehicle which did not meet the specs represented in the sales process. I suggested that the obvious error be corrected by my paying cost to add the option that was not part of the delivered vehicle but that was listed on the list of options on the very vehicle I was buying. The management could not have been more rude and flippant in his response to my request. I have spent my life in customer service and this experience is totally unacceptable even for a lemonade stand.

I'm 24 years old and this was my first car purchase (or any major purchase.) I took my time and was very cautious about what dealership I'd be buying a new car from. After visiting many Honda, Ford, and Toyota dealerships, I decided to try out Portsmouth Ford. Similarly, when choosing the car model that was best suited for me, I researched the evolution of the Focus and a ton of customer feedback on the car, before deciding this was the right car for me.I was extremely satisfied with Portsmouth Ford. The dealership was very straight-forward, no strings attached, and offered me no hassle price that could not be beat by any other dealership. The whole transaction went very smoothly. Kurt Bettcher was very helpful, no pressure, and gave me a ton of good advice for a first time buyer. I've had friends tell me that when they bought their first car from other dealerships, that they felt very rushed by their sales consultant and had a hard time getting in contact with them after the papers were signed. Fortunately, this was not my experience. Kurt took his time and guided me through the whole process; and has been very easy to contact since I left the dealership.My only complaint is that the popcorn in the waiting room was way too dry. If you judge dealerships on the quality of their popcorn, this may not be the right place for you...Otherwise, I totally recommend Portsmouth Ford and Kurt Bettcher (look for the guy in the sox hat) to all other first time buyers.

My partner and I were shopping for a second car. We visited several dealerships in the Exeter-Stratham-Portsmouth area of NH. Initially, we appreciated the more "hands-off" approach of the salesman we worked with, Bill. He showed us where the different Fiesta's were, and let us take our time looking around. This was the only dealership we visited that let us take a car out for a test drive without riding along, and what an awful experience that was! We RAN OUT of gas (and definitely drove well under 10 miles), and had to put a couple of dollars worth of gas in the tank of a car that wasn't even ours!! Talk about BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Then, when we stopped by for a second visit and told Bill which color we wanted and which options we wanted, he kind of huffed and said, 'well, I GUESS I can call my other store in Maine and see if they have one.' When they didn't, he turned to us and said, 'well, pick your color: black or silver?' Excuse me, but when we're going to be financing this car and paying it off for the next five years, I want it to be exactly what I want - so sorry that this takes a little more effort, but isn't that your job? We wound up going to the Ford dealership in Exeter, where the sales people were much more friendly and the customer service was fantastic - I would much rather give my business to someone willing to work with me, instead of Portsmouth Ford.

Bought a new 2010 Lincoln MKX for over $45,000 from this dealer. Drove it off the lot and DVD player did not work. Took it back to get fixed and took 4 trips to the dealer to finally get it fixed. Then went in for routine service and they rotated my tires. They broke my lugnuts. They said they had to order new ones so they took some off of a car on the lot and I drove away. I had to go back two more times to try to get them fixed, but they couldn't fix them, so they convinced me that I didn't need the actual lugnuts that lock the hubcaps (that came with the car)because I lived in a safe area. So I accepted that and took the second hand (non-locking lugnuts). Then about 7 months after owning the car, the "low tire pressure light" went on. To keep it short, it goes on every 5 to 7 days and my tires lose anywhere from 2 - 15 lbs of pressure each. It has taken over 5 visits to try to solve this problem and the most recent time I took it in they said that they can't do anymore for me. I have to fill up the tires every 5 to 7 days and they told me to "go to another dealer". They also said that perhaps I am overinflating them. The last time they filled up the tires, they filled one to 45lbs (10 lbs over standard)!! I spoke to the general manager and he said he would get the service guys to take another look and they have discovered that there is a small leak in the wheel. They are making me pay for this and when I complained, the GM said that there was no way he would pay for it on "his dime" and that he would just "put my car back together and leave it in the parking lot for me to pick up" if I wouldn't pay. So it has taken them 5 times to find this problem... I wonder what happened to the first 4 visits? And I truly wonder if they are actually capable of fixing it. I don't want to ever deal with the Portmsouth Ford delearship again. If you want a Ford product, do yourself a favor and try another dealer.

Mr. Francis was very nice and listened attentively to my vehicle needs. He was very co-operative and easygoing. No high-pressure selling tactics. I felt at ease during the transaction.BTW, I chose PORTSMOUTH FORD because out of the three dealers I had called requesting information, Mr. Francis was he only one to return my call.After leasing my 2010 Mercury mariner, my wife's previous lease had expired and we went back to PORTSMOUTH FORD and Mr Francis conducted her transaction the same way as he had conducted mine.She purchased a 2010 Mercury Mariner.We are both very happy with our vehicles and would recommend PORTSMOUTH FORD, especially EDDY FRANCIS, for their next vehicle purchase/lease.

Do NOT go to the dealership. They broke the drivers side seat of my car during a trade evaluation and refused to fix it. Jim Patterson, the manager and the person who conducted the trade evaluation denies breaking the chair and refused to have his service dept take a look at the fix. He even admitted to being a 300lb person, and stated that he had to move the chair all the way back to get in. THIS DEALERSHIP HAS ZERO INTEGRITY AND IS VERY DISHONEST. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. PLEASE REFER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU FOR MY FULL REPORT. A COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED AND LEGAL ACTION WILL FOLLOW.

This dealer owns a used car place in portsmouth on 180 Mirona Rd. Portsmouth NH. My husband and I went to look at a used car advertised on line. We called ahead to let them know we were coming to look at a Rav4. It was pouring rain out. We got out of our car and a sales man was standing under the over head and he did not even want to talk to us. We asked about the car and he made us stand out in the pouring rain to look at it. My husband asked if we could use there garage and he said absolutly not they dont allow people in there. My husband asked for something to lay on so he wouldnt get more soaked. He went in and threw a rubber mat at my husband. He wanted nothing to do with me as I tried to talk to him. The suv was in rough shape. My husband went in to talk to the manager and asked for a car fax. The manager asked if we wanted to test drive it. My husband said no I just had one and it got toteled. The manager refused to give us a car fax. My husband got upset and we left. We have never been treated so badly in our lives. Actually thank you ford because we found a great car dealer elsewere who was very respectful and we will keep doing buisness with them and referring them buisness.
