What a pleasure to deal with this group. From Peter, Larry and Steven they provided me with more than I was hoping for, excellent price, maintanice program and a vehicle that exceeded my expectations. All happened in 1 visit too. I like that a lot Forget the location. If you are serious about buying a car, want to enjoy the experience and feel like you were treated like someone cared about you and your needs, go see the Royal group on S. VanNess. Talk to Peter Bauer and watch what happens. He's the best, in any business, I've seen or dealt with. Sales Consultant Peter was absolutely fantastic to work with during my buying process. I am a repeat Volvo Lease Customer who has had good and bad new lease buying experiences in both the East Coast and West Coast! I have to say that working with Peter, The Finance Department and entire staff at the Volvo of San Francisco Dealership was, by far, the easiest transaction I have ever experienced with Volvo. I shopped on line, visited or talked to several dealerships in the Bay area, then saw the car I was looking for on line in San Francisco. Peter and I talked several times on a Sunday- morning with the deal was done, (over the phone,) by 2:00 p.m. The delivery process went just as smoothly. Looking for a Volvo, call Peter.

I did my research and knew what I wanted. I reached out to about a half dozen dealers and got the run around. Salespeople trying to upsell me or giving me unrealistic numbers and saying, "but if you come in we can get you the best price." Finally I reached out to the guys at SF VW (Royal) and Eric the sales manager got back to me promptly with a great quote. I reached out to them and Steve handled things from there. With a little negotiation they were able to get the color I wanted for just about the same price. I came in same day to sign the lease. Quick and easy. Steve ran my through everything, taking the time to explain what I needed as I was a first time leaser. Picked up the car the next day. Great service, great price. I will be going back to these guys for my next car. Thanks Steve and Eric!

I have my car serviced here regularly since I moved to the area. The service is always top notch. My most recent trip was handled by Matt who took the time to explain what was going on with my breaks. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to recommend against doing needless servicing, saving me hundreds of dollars. I appreciate the care the team takes. And I recommend the service center to anyone needing a vehicle checkup.

I purchased my 2013 Audi A5 after finding it on the Internet. Sergey helped me throughout the purchase and was great. He even sent me a short video of the car so I could be more confident in buying a car without ever seeing it. He answered all of my questions knowledgeably and was very patient. I would definitely recommend the dealership and Sergey.

I came bank to this delearship for one particular sales person, Sergey Chulikanov. He was helpful, professional and patient. It was important for me to deal with someone I felt comfortable with and respected. The business part of the translation was very smooth and efficient. I felt well treated.

We had a great experience shopping for a VW Golf here. Steve was very helpful and friendly, walking us through the various models, features and financing/leasing options. We also went with him on a test drive for a Golf SE, where he gave us a great tour of all the features. We weren't ready to buy yet, but we our experience here was great, and we will definitely get in touch with Steve when the time comes!

I knew what car I wanted, and was searching on the internet, found the car on cars.com. Emailed the dealer on a Tuesday afternoon, I had done my research, An offer was made and accepted over email. The contract was FedX to my office the next day, Wednesday signed and returned same day. Picked up the car on Thursday afternoon, only spent about 15 min at the dealership. If only all car buying experiences were this simple. The only thing that would have been better is if they delivered the car to my office....

By far, this is the worst experience that I've ever had with any car dealer! I wouldn't recommend anyone to spend one minute trying to purchase a vehicle from this place. I traveled one hour to check out a vehicle that I seen online. It was a certified used vehicle. When I finally arrived after searching for a parking, I had asked where to park and was informed that all of the visitor spots were taken. That I had to park on the street. Mind you, my car was parked on the street, so I had to keep putting money in the meter. After finally getting a chance to speak with a salesman, I was told that they don't negotiate on their certified vehicles. I was told that they could negotiate on a new vehicle only. I asked if I could take a look at their vehicles, which they told me that there cars were at another location. They said that they could take a ride with me to see it. I was dumbfounded why we had to give the salesman a ride, when they have a courtesy car and didn't offer to take us. I explained to the salesman that I traveled an hour, got lost, paid for parking, told that I had to drive to another location to look at their cars with no negotiation on certified vehicles and didn't offer anything to help make my experience a better one. His response, "this is all I have to offer you." Basically, saying take it or leave it. Worst customer service ever!

I went into this dealer twice to check out pre-owned Audi's. Both times, there only seemed to be one or two sales people working, and I couldn't get anyone to speak with me. I figured if this is how they respond to a potential customer in their store, I didn't want to bother trying to call and get someone over the phone. I was disappointed, and it's the only dealership I have ever been to where I was completely ignored. In addition, their dealership is located in a particularly crime-ridden neighborhood of San Francisco, which makes it all the less pleasant to visit.

I rarely give negative reviews because I know that isolated incidents can occasionally arise. BUT, having been exposed to torturous attempted buying experiences on multiple occasions to spend over $48,000, the whole experience screams of frustration, obstruction, delay and a general attitude of incompetence. My experience started with a telephone call to get answers to some questions about a "pre owned" new Audi. After a straight forward conversation I made an immediate offer, $1,500 , i.e. 3% below asking and said that I was prepared to go to the dealership within 3 days, certified cashiers check to buy. Two days later with no response, I called back and got an immediate, "we were about to call you - NO, we don't accept anything less than asking - full price only" I asked why no counter and was told this rock bottom no discussion. "OK, well, let me know if you would reconsider"-" NO, we don't negotiate." 1 week later I got a price change alert that they had dropped the price by $1000 - which was 500 more than my offer! So much for no negotiation or price change. So, with some dread I called again and spoke with somebody else. Offered their full asking price-just wanted to wrap it up. Salesman was surprised but pleased with no games on my part. I again stated that I would buy with no conditions other than seeing the car and a test drive. I asked for a sales/ contract agreement to ensure actual price and car details, fees etc. so no surprises. Never got this. After another week of repeated e mails, texts, calls, and I finally speak with the sales manager to get things done, and he tells me the car is sold! I am crushed and explain my frustrations. he is sympathetic and takes charge, finds out the car is NOT sold, so we are back on track. Due to some stupid rules, I can't buy the car in California without paying Calif. tax even though I reside in Colorado and will pay tax, registration title fees in CO just like I have done before for a Porsche that I bought in Texas. I have to ship the car to CO avoid CA sales tax, which at 9% is three times my burden in CO!! So I ask can they ship and to the sales manger's credit he gets an email out and I get a fast quote, I agree with responding e mail, I will pay shipping, let's get this done. Next day I send another email and telephone follow up to salesman. "Great, we'll get back to you with written contract." - Another day goes by and nothing -no written details, or even anything resembling a contract or even phone call..... I call again - I said I would fly in to see the car and test drive, bring a check and get them to ship the car. What else can I do to twist their arms to sell the car with NO conditions or haggling? OK we will email the details. Great. 3 days later, no email. no contract, nothing! Cannot figure out what these guys think operating a business like this. I have spent almost 1 month trying to buy a car that is for sale with NO conditions, and it is as if I am causing this company an enormous embarassment to take legitimate funds. What more do they want?? Who buys without any written details, let alone a sales contract? Why is buying a car so horrendously trying? What can this trial by torture achieve? As much as I have tried, I do not understand this mind bogglingly horrendous experience. I wish this was a fairy story or some type of April fools day experience, but it is a true recollection of actual events. I really would like to buy the car, but how can I - so am not going to endure any more torture. This whole experience may explain why the car remains unsold.......CAVEAT EMPTOR I will, now, start again and if I pay more then so be it. At least I will buy a car instead of wasting huge amounts of time and energy!

I was about to buy a CPO Q7. When I went in to sign the paper work. They told me that the car was not able to be certified after getting an assurance from the sales person that it was. The manager never returned my call.

Came and test drove an 11 Volkswagen Touareg, they told me that it was a trade in from a customer of theirs, who bought it from them, and serviced it there. I agreed to pay the asking price, but then they said that they cannot sell me that car.

I have been looking for a particular car for months (2010 Volvo S40), finally found it on cars.com at Royal Automotive. At this point I have driven a few of these cars and I knew exactly what I was looking for and how much I wanted to pay for it. Contacted Royal Automotive, went in for a quick test drive the next day. Negotiation was probably 5 minutes, got the deal I wanted. No mind games, no nasty tricks. Another hour of paperwork and the car was mine. Picked it up the next day, nicely detailed. As I said, excellent buying experience.

I just recently purchased a brand new 2011 S80 from Royal Motor Sales. I got my car in a very good price as for this year car. I wasn't intented to buy a car that day but the price of the S80 caught my attention and I got it with $500 off of the clearance price. The car is loaded and it runs great and I love it! I like the service and the price. That's why I purchased my third Volvo car from this dealer.
